Bruh do y’all know how embarrassing it is to have grown up constantly saying to people “yeah I don’t want to get married” and “I’m never gonna fall in love” and have everyone telling you “oh you’ll change your mind when you’re older” only for you to discover you’re aromantic and be all smug because you proved them all wrong…only to end up in a queer platonic relationship!
Bruh I wanna marry this person. I’m gonna marry this person. But so many people aren’t gonna be allowed to know about it because I can’t be aro and still get proven wrong like this. I’m too petty for that
So we have this sidewalk going from the detached garage to the house- it's the full length of the garage, plus a bit. Right now it's flat, it's boring, and it's pretty ugly.
But it's also hopefully going to be the barrier between a needed walkway and a big open playset area for beans. Which means I don't want to put anything tall, or fragile, or thorny along that path because it's inevitably going to have kids going over or through it a bunch.
It's surprisingly hard to find really low to the ground shrubby plants. There's a lot of "drawf shrub! Only grows to 5 ft!" ads out there. That is not helpful to me. I want that hint of structure, but I think the best scenario is something kids can hop over.
The plot is very sunny, but pretty dry and, like the whole yard, probably pretty acidic.
I think the plan is going to be a mixed hedge comprised of
Lowbush Blueberries
which only get 1-2ft tall, have tasty fruits, and like low-nutrient acidic soil.
We're particularly looking at Brunswick, Tophat, and Northsky varieties, as well as our locally native Velvet Leaf and Common Late Lowbush varieties.
2. Lingonberries
Also gets about 1 to 1.5 ft tall. My only connection with lingonberries is the juice at ikea, but I do like that, and if we want to get further into jam-making, this seems like a solid bet.
We're mainly looking at Erntesegen, Linnea, Ruby, Red sunset, or Red pearl varieties.
We don't have room for all of these varieties, so we'll have to whittle things down more in the summer.
Both lowbush blueberries and lingonberries have nice fall color, which is also important to me.
In a perfect world, I would also get my hands on some grouse whortleberries, just for kicks, but I can only find those as seeds, and, as we have established, I'm not great with seeds.
Pookie has now gone off on a complete tangent looking for the tallest, sweetest, most curtain-like highbush blueberries for around the Larch. We'll see where that leads.

Arbordawn Archipelego stretches from the Beacon of the Radiant Eye in the south to the Gladeveins in the north, crossing the North Sea and connecting the lands of Nature and Light. The region is defined by its pleasant climate and beautiful scenery as well as its diverse population.
The southern portion of the islands are firmly part of the Sunbeam Ruins and are one of Rusiliika’s seven kingdoms, the Kingdom of Arbordawn. The islands of the south are scattered with settlements, but most hub activity is drawn to the nearby city of Beaconsgate.
The norther portion, simply called North Arbordawn is considered the gateway to the Viridian Labyrinth. The center of Nature aligned power in the region is Arcway, the port through which ships pass on their way in and out.
Being between two flights, the weaker elemental forces are attractive for beastclans settlement. The middle islands are without strong influence from draconic powers. The city of Northsky stands as the neutral stronghold with large populations of Maren, Harpies, and Centaurs. Encroachment from neighbors is difficult to fend off however, and the city has thoroughly been absorbed into Light Flight’s borders.
Hunters’ Rest serves as the launching point for dragons looking to brave the nearby Kelp Beds. While the village is quite small, it hosts a massive transient population with dragons constantly moving in and out as they do their training and gathering and head home.
On top of all of this is the flow of tourists and vacationers drawn by the beaches and clear water, as well as the traders moving fruit vegetables and lumber from Viridian to the mainland for sale. Further, the constant presence of wealthy merchants and nobles (be they on getaway or business) brings the eyes, claws, and swords of pirates who hide in the coves and marshes waiting to strike those who let their guard down.
Arbordawn is home to many and home away from home to all the more. All at once serenely quiet and violently chaotic, not to mention a bit humid for most.
jay and i are starting to plant things as a way to trick people into thinking we are responsible and have our shit together and im planting blueberries and a hydrangea bush and

Someone please help me figure this out. When Na Hae Jun was discussing the Anmyeon island Guseong resort with their investors in one of the earlier episodes, he mentioned their casino with the resort. Gambling is illegal in South Korea.
Was this a mistranslation for the subtitles? Or are there exceptions if a casino is on an island (similar to how some US casinos had to be on riverboats to circumvent state laws)?
This in no way interferes with my enjoyment of the show. But if this dirty Guseong corporation is running illegal gambling operations too (you know-on top of the bribery, nepotism, and embezzlement), I hope Northsky (Mr. Choi's company) takes enough voting shares and wrests the company from CEO Na's grasp.
More episodes release tomorrow, so maybe this will be explained.
