why do you hate Joshua Graham or Honest Hearts so much?

This DLC and character represents a bigger issue with fandom spaces I have but particularly fallout fandom in general.

Fallout tends to tackle a lot of topics controversial and not. The first two games it’s heavy cause they are the most satirical and direct with how anti-war, nationalism and etc… they are. 3 loses this as it’s very clear once you play or learn about all the games that Todd and a bunch of guys at Bethesda just liked the 50s post apocalyptic aesthetic and refuse to actually critique the ideals of the time period like the earlier titles.

New Vegas is the game that really gets back into it a degree it almost seems like it’s taking too much on. There are things done exceedingly well while other things are done horribly wrong . I’ve made posts about it before and plan to make a big series of posts (it’s a lot of writing) but my biggest gripe is with Honest Hearts and all the gross and white savior esque depictions it has of indigenous peoples. The entirety if FNV does not do the injustices faced by indigenous people correctly on any count. My two biggest complaints are with the Khans and the tribes in Zion but I’ll talk about the former on a different post.

Both characters of Daniel and Joshua are the most accurate depiction of white saviors I’ve seen and I hate how the DLC tries to justify and defend them. The DLC treats Joshua like this man who has repented for his past actions when he is just retracing his steps after his cruelty bit him in the ass. He was one of the worst parts of the Legion and it is all but explicitly stated that if you don’t force him to be non-violent he will turn the tribes of Zion into the legion 2.0. The Dead Horses and the Sorrows are horribly infantilized by both Daniel and Joshua who both use them for self serving purposes guised by religious duty. The White Legs are the horrible stereotype of violent and savage indigenous and I personally think a lot of their interlinking with Ulysses, his hair and Ulysses character in general are distasteful and very telling of how BIPOC or POC where involved.

But outside of the game it’s the weird obsession people have with these characters ideologies and trying to make them seem more interesting/philosophical than they are. Tumblr is an echo chamber and many fans of Fallout are not the people on this site. Many people are not educated in the issues these characters convey and how poorly they do or used these characters as a poor introduction for their takes. Contrary to what a lot of people believe in, fallout has a prediomeny white cis male fanbase. More importantly a large portion of the fanbase is white.

You can joke how FNV made you trans or see the numbers on post/fics or diverse headcanons but these are kiddy numbers compared to the millions that consume the franchise and aren’t in those more aware spaces or don’t engage in the spaces the same way someone like me does/has to. Their views shape a lot more than people realize and it’s exhausting to be in a space where people don’t correct the more subtle yet toxic aspects of it but also adopt them into some weird quirky view point on the characters or issues. Some people don’t realize and some people don’t care.

My main issue is just the idolizing of these sort of thing in this fandom space and people try to acts like a game like fallout whose tagline is “War never changes” and has never had a game not revolve around political or militaristic factions issues isn’t that deep or doesn’t relate to real issues. I think it’s mainly caused by how over powered you can become and how you can strong arm your way past these learning moments as majority of people who play this game do play it as a power fantasy where they can do so as they please (which of course, go ahead it’s fun) but never take in parallels or lessons in the story as if it was just another first person shooter.

Also like another personal gripe is Cazadores spawn like hell whenever I’m there and I have not found a mod that works to mod them out so I have to play Indigenous Racism the DLC while getting jumped by giant wasps WHILE helping Mormons. Like I cannot catch a break.

I’ve been wondering why I keep trying to give starfield a fair chance even though I’ve got so many complaints about it and I think the problem is that there really is a lot of fun bits and the components of a good game are in there somewhere but it misses the mark in so many spots. Like even I, a person who doesn’t make video games, can see how parts of it could’ve been improved with just a few tweaks. Tweaks that Bethesda clearly wasn’t willing to make.

Like they’ve made procedurally generated worlds before. I rag on Daggerfall a lot but there’s a reason that game still has fans to this day. Instead of making procedurally generated dungeons for starfield though they just made a small set of copy/paste dungeons you run into over and over again.

The random filler NPCs have no soul to them. You can’t chat with anyone but the named characters. But sometimes they have oblivion style random conversations. It desperately makes me wish there were more named NPCs with schedules.

The ships can’t even fly to other planets in the same system, the creature design clashes with the environmental design, there’s only one major city per inhabited planet, and small towns and colonies are basically nonexistent. There’s no survival mode for hardcore players even though they developed that.

There’s not enough dirt. Everything in this world feels clean and sterile. Instead of starting farms colonists in remote areas live in clean communal pods. They don’t have any face dirt or oil on them. They don’t wear hard hats, they don’t have children outside of the cities, they don’t herd animals or wear weather specific clothing. There’s no local problems they want you to help fix. No community drama or poisoned watering holes.

There’s so much stuff that feels like concept art not realized to its full potential. It feels like this game is the bones of three different okay games shoved into a too-small box together. Is this a survival game, a role playing exploration game, or a mindless first person shooter? It hasn’t decided which one it wants to be and the art and gameplay styles of these different ideas don’t quite fit together and as a player it’s incredibly frustrating because you can see how it could’ve been more fun but it’s just not

Jacob Fowler rattles off skaters and their tendencies and thinks of it as a given that you should know these things by rote if you want to make saves. Jacob Fowler knows how good he is, he remembers every single instance where he'd been ignored when it came time to pick, and he's seemingly simmered this anger for just as long as he's understood it. That's what makes me care.

There's love of the game, and there's this. He's a fascinating case study: undeniably elite, yet somehow passed over again and again; confident and on the verge of cocky; calm, but only in the way the surface of a rip current hides it's pull. He's picking a fight with everyone who doubted him each time he gets in net. He's looking at the yawning chasm of where Carey Price used to be and he's going to jump. I’m just going to open this by admitting that I will absolutely come off as kind of elitist saying this.

But, it genuinely annoys me when people who clearly don’t play video games or know anything about the video game sphere write about Idia and playing video games. Sometimes in the “he would not play that” way, and sometimes in the “it takes me out of the story” way.

To clarify, I’m not talking about game genre or if the game’s popular. With comments Idia has made across the main story, events, homescreen dialogue, ect. we can reasonably say Idia plays RPGs, MMORPGs, MMOs, first person shooters and visual novels. He clearly plays a little bit of everything, and I’m sure popular games have been included too.

The best way I can describe what I’m talking about is by calling it very surface-level. It feels fake when certain writers write about Idia playing games. It just doesn’t feel like the way someone with Idia’s implied gaming experience and his preferences would play/pick his games.

I guess you could say some writers don't have the XP to accurately write certain elements of a character, eh?

Since this seems to be in reference to fan-made content, I don't have a whole lot to say other than that. I am not a super hardcore gamer myself, nor do I take time to read many fanworks, so I can't say if I would pick up on some of the same "inaccuracies."

It may read as elitist to some, but I think it's fair to have those moments if you feel you have more experience in or a better understanding of a certain hobby sphere. I think it makes it all the better when you manage to find a fic that handles Idia's hobbies in a way that tracks with what we know, yeah?

This is probably relateable to a lot of people, just in reference to other specific elements of other characters.

- this is my take on things. And my opinion. It’s not canon (kinda in my head) but don’t come after me! And if you have other ideas I would love to hear them!!

Lets start.

Tenya Iida

He is a big enjoyed of candy crush and you can’t tell me anything else against that. I don’t see him having games on his computer or almost anything, so he plays mostly on his phone. I have a feeling he actually can’t stop and he is so embarrassed over it. Come on? Man is waiting for the new levels every time.

Tetris? A thing for his brain to work and does it kinda fast. He has high scores. MAN IS A BEAST- and when he fails he will get so frustrated and get mad….someone take his phone away please.

Super Mario is a childhood game but he still has it on something. Like a old nintendo, old ds and stuff. He plays it sometimes. And the only thing I see him having new gaming devices wise is a switch, and only has Mario games and plays it only each few mounts.

Izuku Midoriya

Planet zoo I can’t really explain but it’s just feels so right. I think he’s a pro at it. I really wish i could explain why I feel this way….Please tell me you see it to?

Fortnite he only plays with his friends but it’s so often. He does love the game a lot, even has a skin of himself in the game. And he has merch. He just loves to laugh with his friends and vibe. Has never raged quit.

Minecraft….Do I have to explain it? He’s wholesome, the games wholesome. It’s a match. Deku has so many hours it probably scares people. He’s obsessed!!! Mention you found diamonds and he’ll flip.

Rikido Sato

Unraveled is a childhood favorite of mine and I see him playing it for the same reasons. It’s chill but makes the brain think. I think he would love it.

Cooking simulators. This is not just for the meme. Tell me why I think he would rage so much to this because of the controls being whack. If he wasn’t a hero he would own his own restaurant/bakery.

Apex legends- HAVE NO IDEA WHY I THINK THIS. I know nothing about this game. I think he would play a shooter, and he gives apex vibes.

Tsuyu Asui

She’s plays game for chill vibes and vibes only.

Animal crossing?! One of the best games ever. She loves to decorate her island and go villager hunting. Has the best island out of the whole class. (Has many frog villagers)

Minecraft, 100# loves to vibe to the music. She plays with izu a lot too, the whole group. And she’s like the camp mom? Makes sure things are organized and she builds a whole ass city.

Stardew valley….One of the best games ever made again. Farmer Tsu!! She is the person who takes her time and doesn’t stress about anything, she knows everything without the wiki- but she could speed run the whole game so fast.

Eijiro Kirishima

Fortnite bro. Spends so much time on there is so embarrassing. The type of friend to beg his friends to play with him when the say no. He is that guy who doesn’t get up from his seat for hours to play this damn game. Headset, talking to everyone. Random people? He’s befriending them all.

Medieval dynasty is a good game. I see him enjoying building a city up from nothing, he is the type of guy I see. It’s relaxing.

Animal crossing fan and he has no shame. He loves this game so much. Decorates his island. Be proud of him even tho it sucks, but he’s so proud of himself (I relate) and keeps a streak of checking in every day.

Denki Kaminari

HE HAS ALL THE DAMN GAMES!! He talks shit every match. Has fought a child and made them cry (then got his ass handed to him) and I stand by this. He is good at the game, but also then sucks so bad.

Fortnite, yes other shooters because I believe he loves them. But likes to play with the boyz mostly, kiris main bestie in this game because they both are annoying the others.

Minecraft…yes this is getting used a lot but it’s a amazing game. Turns his music down because he’s either falling asleep or crying for questioning his existence. MINING!! He spends so much time mining it’s like he never goes to the surface.

“hello?”

“hey, it’s y/n,” niki lights up immediately when he recognizes your voice. he pulls his hood further over his head as he rushes out of the building in search of privacy. he waves off jungwon’s confused glance when he’s finally outside. “we met at the fansign earlier.”

“yeah, i remember you,” he smiles though you can’t see it. “it’s good to hear from you.”

“it’s good to hear from you, too.”

“hey, niki- oh, sorry,” jay pauses when he sees the boy on his phone, silently setting his bag down on the ground. niki simply nods, turning his attention back to you. your phone has been propped up against a pile of books to keep you in frame as you continue typing up your assignment. 

“when do you have practice?” 

niki glances up at the clock before turning back to you. “right now, actually,” he chuckles. 

you finally turn back to the camera, lifting up your phone so he can see you more clearly. it’s a small gesture, but he appreciates it all the same. “i’ll call you later, then?” 

he nods with a smile mirroring your own. “i look forward to it.”

“you always say that.”

“i always mean it.” 

you playfully roll your eyes as he chuckles. “bye, niki,” he brings his hand up to form a half heart. it’s become a habit since you first started talking regularly and slowly grew more comfortable around each other. 

“bye y/n.” 

“is that the boy from the fansign?” niki jumps slightly at the question; having forgotten about jay entering the room. 

his face flushes a light pink as he turns his phone off and shoves it back into a pocket of his bag. “his name is y/n.”

“so it is the boy from the fansign,” jay chuckles. he walks closer as niki stands up, joining him in the middle of the room in front of the mirrors. “you guys facetime?”

niki nods. “we’re friends.”

“just friends?” he looks away, ignoring the way his face lights up with a deep blush. jay laughs at his embarrassment as he walks over to pat his shoulder. “don’t worry, i won’t tell anyone. besides, i think it’s cute.”

he purses his lips as he wills his face to stop burning, silently grateful for the support. “thanks, hyung.”

niki spends weeks thinking about you and debating whether or not he should take a chance on asking you out before he finally makes up his mind. it’s late - nearing midnight - when his feelings feel too strong to ignore. you’re telling him about your day in between rounds of the newest first person shooter game you found. 

your voice plays clearly through niki’s headset as he plays with his fingers, still silently trying to build up the courage to make the first move. “niki?” 

“what?” he jumps slightly at his name. “sorry, what were you saying?”

“is everything okay? you’ve been quiet for a little while.”

“everything’s fine, i’m just… a little distracted.” 

“are you sure? we can stop for the night if you’re too tired.”

niki sighs a little. his mind swirls with thoughts and possibilities. telling you could mean risking his career if it ever got out. it could mean losing his friends. losing you. 

“i’m okay. i promise.”

“okay.” the few seconds of silence that pass feel agonizing. it’s become common for both of you to go silent while on calls together. it’s a byproduct of spending hours together on phone calls - eventually you run out of things to say. but it’s never felt so suffocating before. “hey, i… have something to tell you, but i don’t want to make things weird.”

“y/n, you could never make things weird between us.” 

niki can hear you take a shaky breath before you continue. “i like boys. like… romantically.” his heart skips a beat for a second before he forces himself to relax again. you liking boys doesn’t mean you like him. he’s so caught up in his own thoughts he almost doesn’t notice when you unnecessarily start trying to explain what you meant. “i know it’s not really accepted here and you probably think it’s weird and-”

“i’m in love with you.” the words escape him before he realizes exactly what they are. his eyes widen and his face flushes a deep red. “i mean…” he sighs, setting his controller down and running a hand over his face. “i have feelings for you. strong feelings. i’ve never felt this way before - about anyone. i just… i’m in love with you.”

“i love you too.” niki’s eyes widen. you let out a nervous laugh as you continue. “i’ve been in love with you for a while now.”

“can i take you out sometime? on a date?”

you smile when you speak again. “i’d like that. tomorrow?”

“i’ll come pick you up.” 

niki’s hand slips into yours as he leads you further down the river. you follow behind him as you hike through the foliage closer to the water. a gentle breeze blows past you every now and then, rustling your hair slightly. 

he squeezes your hand as he leads you over to a small patch of grass near the river bank. a small blanket has been set out, complete with a picnic basket. you can’t help the small chuckle that escapes you. “a picnic?” 

niki shrugs as you smile, leaning over to press a kiss against his cheek. “do you like it?” 

“i love it. thank you.” niki smiles as he feels the weight of your head lean against his shoulder. you let out a small, content sigh as he reaches over to wrap his arm further around your waist. you let yourself relax further against him as he leans down to press a kiss against your forehead. “you know, i’m really glad i gave you my number,” he whispers. 

you shift to look up at him with a small smile. “i’m really glad i called.” 

niki hums, moving his left hand up to cup your cheek. he smiles as he tilts your face upwards to pull you into a sweet kiss - only the first of many.

I require a fic where Sukuna is a popular streamer playing bloody gory first person shooter games and other shit and I want Megumi to be a Stardew Valley/Animal Crossing gamer and they meet unrelated to streaming (Megumi doesn’t stream)

And they don’t know each other well (hookup) but when they attempt to start to getting to know each other Megumi’s like “I’m into video games” and Sukuna starts sweating and completely ghosts Megumi until he goes full stalker mode and realizes Megumi wouldn’t know who the hell he is online and isn’t a megafan or some shit cuz he plays Stardew Valley and wuteva but now Megumi is resistant to getting to know him because he lowkey started to get attached when Sukuna dropped him like that and so Sukuna’s like “I guess we can make an island together or something 🙄”

And now Sukuna’s discord sees Sukuna turn off his game activity like “Sukuna’s streaming Valorant but his game activity isn’t on?” (He forgot to turn it back on) and then his close friends see he’s played 40+ hours on Stardew that first week alone on Steam (he’s determined to fucking CRUSH skull cavern and bring home the loot for Megumi).

And then I want him to finally one day stream Stardew Valley and it’s the most entertaining thing his followers have ever seen (but he’s still got haters insulting him in chat and dropping his stream to go to Twitter like “man fuck this guy he’s changed what happened to valorant??? I didn’t subscribe for this gay shit.”)

But under NO CIRCUMSTANCES is Megumi allowed on stream and NO ONE can know who Megumi is until one of Sukuna’s stalkers finds out and doxs Megumi’s address and so Megumi’s forced to impromptu move in with Sukuna and now Megumi’s on stream in the background gaming on his Switch so it backfired for the evil stalker fans LMAOOO

The Winchester Boys: What video games would they play

Continuing with my video game talks, here are some video games I can see Sam and Dean play when they finally get some off time. I don’t think either boy would’ve been avid video gamers as the hunting life is demanding, but in the off chance that they do play them, this is my opinion on what they would play (this is just for fun. Do not take this super seriously)

Dean

100% would be playing First Person Shooter games

I can definitely see him as a Call of Duty gamer and getting into fights with teenage boys when playing online

“Watch that mouth of yours, kid.”

Would also defend gamer girls in the lobby because we all know how misogynistic the community can be, but Dean loves having women play the game with him

Metroid Prime, 100%. FPS and a woman lead? Sign him up!

Also a possible fan of racing games like Need 4 Speed

(Also plays Mario Kart but doesn’t want to admit it)

Sam

Might dabble into first person shooters but probably wouldn’t be as much of a fan of it as Dean is, but he will play with his older brother and probably get his ass kicked

He’d probably play more simulation games or adventure mystery games

The Phoenix Wright games, 100%

Simulation wise, I see him trying out The Sims. If not that, other relaxing simulation games like Stardew Valley (though that one is a game he will NEVER let Dean know he plays that game)

He’s definitely a gamer that would be playing them for the stories (not a bad thing. I do that myself!)

Meet my OC Spider-Weaver (Spider-Woman, Earth 50513)

For the next few paras I’m gonna rant abt my spidersona :D this might not make any sense at all bc I’m just rambling at this point but here we go anyway! (a small warning, this is going to be a LONG post)

Name: Nikita Raina (pronounced Rhi-na like rhino but with an ‘a’ at the end instead of an ‘o’) (yes she’s South-Indian and yes this is me projecting)

Alias: Spider-Weaver*

Basic stuff to know:

-She’s loosely based off of a golden silk orb-weaver spider! I’m not going to attach an image but if you don’t mind staring at spiders then I suggest you look them up, they’re actually really pretty!!

-She’s been learning ballet since she was 3, picked up gymnastics for 2 or 3 years and then quit

-INCREDIBLE at knitting/crocheting/macramé knotting - basically anything involving thread + working with your hands. She literally works magic with yarn. She crocheted matching gloves for all of the Spiderteens one day after finding out that Hobie’s universe is COLD and his fingers are COLD and if she’s going to be holding his hand when it’s like that then she’ll freeze

Fighting Style:

Her fighting style is more aerobic and dynamic than the regular Spider-Man swings; she incorporates jetés and leaps from ballet into it while also using mid-air somersaults and other high-speed flips she picked up from gymnastics. She also teaches herself kalari adimurai (a South-Indian martial art similar to kalaripayittu) later on so she uses a few moves from that as well.

*The reason behind her alias being Spider-Weaver is that her web style has more of a lacy crochet feel to it than a regular spiderweb. This is what one of her webs would look like:

Her webs are bionic and on her web shooters she has built-in settings for the thickness and stretchiness of the crochet web. For example:

She can also switch up the style of her webs depending on how she feels yk? Like if she’s not vibing with any of the more plain ones she can switch to ✨ fancier ✨ stitches like

And lots more. She’s basically got almost all crochet stitches as different settings on her web shooters. An added bonus is that they’re not only unique and quite pretty, but they’re also stronger and more durable than the average single-thread (unwoven) webs.

Backstory:

(canon events will be in red)

-She was bitten at 13. Her older brother (he’s 20, they have a 7 year gap) Ravi figured out something was wrong fairly early but she played it off as nothing, put his worries to rest and found her way as Spider-Woman on her own

-She was best friends with her universe’s Gwen Stacy since they were in kindergarten. She started freaking out few years into their friendship (they’re in middle school now) once they had become basically inseparable because she started feeling giddy and bubbly and getting butterflies around Gwen.

-Poor girl was basically terrified because her aunties (mostly her mother’s sisters) would constantly pressurise her by asking her if she had her sights set on a boy yet or discussing how her marriage to a boy would go once she was older - those prodding conversations and speculations only reinforced her fears that she wouldn’t be accepted and instead would be frowned upon if she told her family that she had a crush on a girl. So she became more withdrawn and distanced herself a little, so as to not to lose the favour of her family.

-Nikita is 14 at this point

-One day she accidentally told Ravi and she went quiet, expecting him to shame her or mock her but instead he just hugged her and told her he loved her no matter what, and guess what,, he’s queer (pan) too :D

-Fast forward to a few weeks later after an almost-death scare as Spider-Woman fighting her dimension’s Vulture (she slipped up, miscalculated a leap and almost got herself killed) she finally worked up the courage to tell Gwen because it seems like she returns her feelings too! So she goes up to her and they hug and they’re talking and she’s about to confess- But noooo

-Green Goblin attacks in the middle of the school day, during a student art & drama exhibition thing (the parents are all there) and hahaha guess what Gwen’s right in the middle of it

-So Green Goblin basically splits the school building in two and she’s on the terrace and she falls down almost 15 feet because the whole thing’s cracked and Nikita doesn’t have enough time to swing to reach her since there are so many people and she’s on the far, far side and-

-Gwen hits the ground at full force. Niki gets there just in time for her last breath and it’s a little bit like the Gwen-Peter 65 scene from ATSV (Niki’s Gwen slowly figured out that she’s Spider-Woman, she just didn’t say anything) yeah I might write out this scene sometime idk

-She manages to deal with Green Goblin for the moment but she loses her dad in the chaos too (basically instead of losing her uncle she lost her dad)

-So she lost her best friend and her father in one go

-She closes herself off and withdraws completely into herself and distances herself from everybody (except Ravi),, & starts going to ballet more to take her mind off things and to get lost in ballet, with the graceful, controlled movements so she doesn’t have to think of how everything’s gone wrong

-During the mourning period she and Ravi grow closer; they both start leaning more on each other and are able to tell each other anything

-Ravi has also started training to be a cop at this point

-Her relationship with her mother grows slightly strained and shaky the older she gets, because of how closed off she’s become

-Fast forward to when Nikita is 16 and a half and the Vulture attacks particularly viciously one day, right on the bridge (the Brooklyn Bridge variant in her universe)

-Her brother (who is now a police captain, despite being a little young) is in the middle of the maelstrom of cars being flung and buildings at the end collapsing. He - a police captain close to Spider-Woman - dies saving a child from falling rubble.

-That does a number on Nikita mentally and she just. Shuts herself down in terms of feeling emotion for a bit

-Like she just goes numb, like she’s in denial about how many people she’s lost in such a short time

-Terrified to make friends or get attached because her losing someone she cares about deeply seems to be a recurring pattern

-The only one she has left is her mom, and she’s grown really distant from her

-Little bit irrelevant but she takes up psychology. She studies how the emotional part of brain works, studies some basic therapy and other think-y stuff like that, and some of her Spider-Woman ‘jabs’ (not really but I can’t think of a word for them rn) are things like “did something formative happen to you as a child? yeah I thought I sensed some childhood trauma, would you like to talk about it?” And stuff like that (she’s pretty genuine about it too, if they start talking instead of just attacking her then she will sit down with a mug of chai and just listen to them rant)

-Anyway fast forward to a year and a half later when she’s 18

-Jessica Drew ends up following an anomaly she’s been tracking into Nikita’s dimension, the anomaly manages to get the upper hand on her and has almost overpowered her when Nikita finally swings in (probably during/right after a psychology exam too) and uses the element of surprise + her speed to get the upper hand on the anomaly and web it up

-She was recruited into the Spider-Society by Jess after she saw how capable and quick-thinking Niki could be. She saw her as someone who could be a useful asset to the society.

-It’s there where she met Hobie, Gwen, Pavitr, Margo, Miguel and Peter B. + a few other spiders she became friends with (I’ll expand on their relationships in a different post)

Suit design:

(I will be drawing this out properly sometime soon, don’t worry!! Feel free to skip this part if you think it’s too complicated ^^ I really have no idea how to describe it in a simpler way lmao)

-mainly shades of gold, black highlights

-on her arms there are black “cuff” markings like a golden silk spider’s legs

-on her wrists she has black bangles (more like cuffs bc they fit around her wrists, they aren’t loose & dangly)

-wears black fingerless sleeves, they look a little bit like Gwen’s but they have black splotches (a little bit like spray paint blobs) instead of spiderwebs

-has a black spider on the front of the suit

-wears a necklace! it’s colourful and has some mismatched colourful beads on a chord and two pendants in the centre, one pendant is a paint-splashed red electric guitar, the other pendant is one of Hobie’s rings

-wears black ballet pointe shoes

-the eye outline is black, the ‘eye’ inside is pastel golden

-black 🕸️ patterns on the side of both of her shoulders (like painted pauldrons)

Abilities:

-Along with the super-strength, super-speed and accelerated healing of the average Spider-Person, she can sense emotions and thoughts.

Not mind-reading exactly but if she focuses hard enough she can sense whatever emotion is radiating out of that particular person’s mind (she used to get very overwhelmed in middle school bc of the sheer amount of envy and insecurity and other emotions in raging hormonal teenagers’ brains and somehow studying psychology helped her figure out how to tune it out a little bit, since every time she can sense too much of intense emotions it’s like constantly blowing a dog whistle around a dog,, and she also gets horrible migraines and headaches from it)

She can even read thoughts if the emotion associated with it is strong enough.

An added ability that stems from being able to sense emotions and thoughts (to some degree) is that she can sometimes predict the moves that an enemy might make before they actually make them. It’s not 100% accurate every time but it’s still pretty useful

I’ll write out her relationships (everyone already knows that Hobie’s no. 1 on that list lmao) and the world descriptions later, but for now here’s the character that’s been living in my head since I saw ATSV :D

Oh also she’s besties with @hobiebrownismygod ’s sona Maitreyi :D desis gotta stick together yk (putting this here so I don’t forget to mention it in the relationships post ^^)

more streamer au thoughts but this time about how i think the others would be involved

robin doesn’t stream on twitch, but she does make movie commentary videos on youtube. most of the commentaries are at least half-serious, but she occasionally gets steve to guest star and they watch an actually awful film on purpose just to make fun of it. even though robin’s channel is not family friendly, steve still refuses to swear.

nancy and jonathan don’t have their own channels, but they frequently appear in the background of their roommate argyle’s videos and streams. argyle’s channel is called pizzaguy420, a name he came up with when he was 15 and irrelevant, and later refused to change because he finds it hilarious. his shtick is that he plays horror games and games that are notoriously difficult while high, so nancy and jonathan are always there to keep him in check or confiscate his bong (he is so lucky weed is legal in california).

dustin, mike, will and lucas run a group channel for DnD and co-op games they will argue over exclusively. the channel’s called hellfireclub, which eddie will ALWAYS be salty at them for because dustin stole it from him when he was telling them all about his high school DnD club.

max plays first person shooter games, and went viral for verbally destroying a bunch of men she had the displeasure of getting teamed with one game. she beat them at the game too, but their egos were particularly bruised. max’s channel is just ‘maxmayfield’ because she thinks having a thematic alias as a username is cringe.

el isn’t a twitch streamer either, she does lifestyle and day in the life vlogs. her content is all very wholesome, and gets a lot of kids as viewers. just like steve, she tries to keep things family friendly after realising who her audience is. her and steve collab a lot, despite the difference in their content. steve’s the only one who can get her to enjoy a video game (aside from maybe max) and they often play minecraft together.

gareth, jeff and the unnamed freak all have their own twitch channels that are similar to eddie’s and they stream together a lot. their fans love when they do jackbox streams together. unnamed freak is faceless online and no one online knows his real name, so everyone takes to choosing a new name to call him each stream to keep everyone on their toes. one stream, his name is mark, and the next his name is keith. none of them ever directly address the bit, and new fans are always confused but always catch on.

but how do they all know each other? mostly in line with canon tbh but a tad less trauma bonding. they somehow got just as close anyway. gareth jeff and unnamed freak were all still in a DnD club with eddie in high school, eddie and max were still neighbours as teenagers, max and the party were friends in high school, dustin knows steve because steve babysat him as a kid, and steve knows robin because they met at work.

and argyle somehow knows eddie from a random music festival years back (eddie doesn’t remember this) and reaches out to eddie once their follower counts are similar to ‘rebond’ and eddie is baffled enough to respond with a ‘who the fuck are you’ and start a beautiful friendship that exasperates steve to no end.

Oh lord you don’t even know

I have far too many and I physically can’t pick favorites, so I present you; Pop’s Fukalen Headcanon Masterlist (that hasn’t been updated in a good while)

-They get into dumb stupid trouble a lot, Len cuz he’s overly confident, stubborn and stupid, and Fukase because he’s an agent of chaos

-They casually bully (not really, just tease) each other a lot

-They don’t really need to communicate to cause havoc, they just sorta catch each others dumbass brain waves

-Though Luka is the main English tutor for the Kagamines, Fukase also helps Len with his English a lot

-After Fukase has helped Len with English so much, it became a habit for Fukase to speak English to Len so that he could hear it more and learn, so though it’s not actually necessary it has become natural for them to have conversations where Len speaks Japanese and Fukase speaks English

-Fukase’s kinda jealous of Len’s dance skills but refuses to admit it, instead just saying Len’s a show off (he’s not wrong)

-They’re both gamers and play together a lot, though Fukase leans more towards shooters and Len’s a bit of a rhythm game fanatic

-They played Portal 2 together which consisted of Fukase carrying and Len fucking around bc he wasn’t built for puzzle games

-Fukase says project diva is dumb and not even a good game because he generally doesn’t like rhythm games as he tends to suck at them, but he’s secretly a hardcore project diva fan and plays it a lot

-Similarly, he complains about Sekai being cashgrab trash and just another shitty gacha game but he’s mildly addicted

-Oh and his fave module is Len’s Trickster one because then they have a matching cane and hat vibe goin’ on

-Sometimes when they’re in group chat with friends Fukase and Len will argue, and Fukase will say something like “shut up bb”, earning something like a “lmao you calling him baby that’s kinda gay” from the others, and the response is usually something along the lines of “YOU ALL KNOW ITS SHORT FOR BANANA BOY SHUT THE HELL UP”

-Len makes fun of Fukase’s overly complicated design a lot but had an edgy phase where he thought it was the peek of fashion and secretly wanted to look like him

-Len really likes Fukase’s lower range (especially when paired with his softer voice), but keeps that secret locked up and kept away from everyone and anyone

-Len assumed for ages that Fukase wore eyeliner until he did his makeup once and told him to take it off and Fukase was like “what eyeliner” and Len was like “you’re not wearing eyeliner???”

-Fukase gets super easily cold which is why he wears so many layers, meanwhile Len is that kid that walks around in a t-shirt and shorts all year around, a bit of a living heater if you will. It can either be optimal for cuddling or make it impossible, depends

-They use a lot of different nicknames for each other depending on context- usually Fukase might call Len “Banana Boy”, “Blondie”, “Twink” or “Dumbass” and Len might call Fukase “Clown” “Fuckass” “Fuka” or “Kase”. You’ll probably never catch Fukase saying “Babe” (Banana Boy > BB > Baby/Babe)or Len saying “Fukafuka” (fluffy/soft) out in the open tho

-Fukase and Flower are best friends, and Flower has a habit of giving people nicknames based on flowers. Fukase sorta picked up on this, occasionally calling Len “Buttercup”

-Every time someone asks Fukase how his face got scarred he comes up with the most wild and shocking story he can think of on the spot to get a reaction out of whoever is asking, but none of these manage to shock Len anymore because he’s heard every single one Fukase has managed to conjure up

-Fukase has multiple sorted reference, meme, quote, and random picture folders so he can send whatever he deems perfect in any given situation at any given time. Depending on context Len will more often than not know “oh this person said this, so Fuka is gonna send/show this specific thing in three, two, one- there it is”

-Whenever Len comes over to Fukase he will prioritize saying hi to Point before Fukase. Fukase‘s kinda accepted that Len likes Point more than him

-The way Len treats Point compared to the way Fukase does is night and day- Len holds it like a newborn child talking to the it like it’s a puppy, while Fuka be out here dragging it by a limb sayin “ya stinky”

-Point is their unofficial child probably

-Len likes a lot of Fukase’s original English songs, but knows his own English isn’t the best, at least not compared to Fukase’s, so he only ever jams to them and sings along in private

-Though he makes fun of it a lot, Fukase thinks Len’s English is kinda endearing, but he keeps that to himself

-Fukase has the weird ability to making insults sound like compliments, and compliments sound like insults, and Len is sick of it cuz it makes him very confused and annoyed

-Fukase speaks fluent sarcasm, meanwhile Len’s brain sometimes just short circuits and he can’t pick up on sarcasm whatsoever

-Fukase is a smartass with dumbass energy and Len is a dumbass who tries to have smartass energy (in contrast to Rin, who fully embraces her dumbassness and dumbass energy and thinks Len should too. He insists he isn’t as dumb as her and she’s like “bro you’re literally my reflection”)

-Len legit has a big ego (some describe him as mildly narcissistic) while, Fukase is just great at faking confidence and actually doesn’t think very highly of himself, though Len insists he absolutely should

-Fukase likes cracking self deprecating jokes. He does that more than your average person due to his secretly low confidence

-Len, due to his higher than average confidence, usually doesn’t find self deprecating jokes funny cuz he doesn’t relate to them, and it often takes him a second to get them. Sometimes, if he notices his friends making a lot of them, he’ll get kinda worried and be like “damn you need therapy or smthn?”

-Len sometimes aggressively delivers compliments to Fukase, or whoever he thinks needs them

-Fukase’s terrible at accepting compliments

-Len straight up started giving Fukase self love classes to teach him real confidence

-He also gives Fukase dance lessons, but Fukase usually doesn’t learn much because Len’s too busy showing off. They have fun tho

-Fukase really like when Len has his hair down

-Len’s kind of a mess in the kitchen, so when they have to prepare something themselves Fukase usually does it for the both of them

-When they’re out together they like to get milkshakes/smoothies. If both are almost broke and they gotta share, they compromise and get the banana and strawberry drink. While their fave flavors in general are banana for Len and strawberry for Fukase, they both have come to enjoy the banana and strawberry combo. Sometimes they lie to each other abt being broke just to order it and share

-Len says Wi-Fi Imagination Wild Boy is “their song” but Fukase likes to pretend it doesn’t exist and never happened out of embarrassment

-Len likes having one hand on each side of Fukase’s face because the difference in skin texture on each side feels funny. Fukase says it’s weird that he likes doing that, but doesn’t stop him from squishing his face

-Fukase always ponders how the Cryptons have perfect skin, or well, at least he knows Len does- perfect nails too, great for head scratches

-While Fuka is normally not the biggest fan of surprise physical contact, it’s kinda become a habit of Len to just randomly scratch his head or run his hand through his hair. This is an exception. If you comment on it tho, Fukase will suddenly start acting annoyed by it and smack Len’s hand away. Len teases him a bit for liking it

-Len absolutely adores how fluffy and messy Fukase’s hair is

-Fukase has his reasons for keeping his arm bandages, maybe health, convenience, not wanting to freak people out- but one is because he has a habit of picking at the skin there, which Len is trying to get him to stop doing

-Fukase’s arm picking worries Len, so sometimes he changes Fukase’s bandages for him just to make sure he won’t do it

-Len’s a trans guy and Fukase is one of the few people Len’s comfortable not binding his chest in front of, other than the other Cryptons and Piko (bc Piko’s his best friend)

-Fuka barely needs any sleep getting like 4 hours on average, while is a professional honk mimimier who likes getting his 8 hours of beauty sleep

-Because of Len’s habit of sleeping like a baby and the fact that he’s usually busy as fuck, Fukase always lets him sleep in when they have sleepovers at his place, not having the heart to wake him up

-When they have sleepovers they always end up having an argument a little while after Len starts showing signs of being tired. These basically consist of Len saying “if I go to bed now I know you’re just gonna stay up all night, get your ass to bed now or I’m staying up and annoying you while sleep deprived” and Fukase saying “you look like you’re gonna pass out and you know damn well I won’t be able to sleep for a while, go to bed or I’m carrying your sleepy ass over there“. Which of them wins varies

-Though they both frequently tease each other and are okay with teasing/being teased about pretty much anything, they also know exactly when they’re crossing a line or pushing certain buttons. Sometimes they’ll push the others buttons just a little or see how far they can go, but they always know when to stop and when the other isn’t cool with it anymore

-Fukase adores the horror genre as a whole, while Len’s more easily freaked out but pretends like he has no fear- so, when they’re for example picking out a movie to watch, Fukase might wanna watch a horror movie and Len will be like “Pft of course no problem I’m not a wimp” but then later in the middle of the movie they’ll have to pause and chill together for a bit because Fukase’s like “dude you look like you’re gonna cry maybe let’s not, want some hot coco?”

-Fukase and Len once started talking about some English tv show and after it came up in conversation Len confessed that he had a hard time following without Japanese subtitles, especially when he wants to sing along to the songs. This lead Fuka to say he could help him if there was anything he needed clarified when watching it, which lead to them watching the show together. Now they’ve developed a habit of watching stuff together so Fukase can help translate and clarify, even though Len doesn’t need it much anymore

-While Len loves doing concerts and performances, he gets very homesick and missed his friends since he’s so social. He’ll text people non stop, though he’s sometimes worried that it gets a little annoying- but Fukase doesn’t mind at all. Len always somehow gives him the ability to watch them live from his home and tells him about how it is and that he misses him, and since Fukase doesn’t have a sleep schedule it usually works wherever Len is. Len also hooked him up with some real nice glowsticks that he furiously waved around when watching

-Since Fukase and especially Len are both pretty dang successful and feel like can’t really comfortably talk about their insecurities or negative feelings regarding their loid status in front of less successful loids, like Piko or Lui, they kinda just talk about it to each other. They bond over it- knowing Piko has it worse, Fuka isn’t as bothered much by his licensing, but is ashamed that his VP doesn’t care for him. And Len, tho almost always feeling like he’s the best he could be, sometimes feels inferior to Rin when remembering that he’s just kind of an add on to her

-Len has little to no insecurities regarding his looks, though he spent like his eye color very much, partially bc he’s often made to wear brighter green or blue contacts for promo stuff. Fukase thinks this is bullshit and Len’s eyes are pretty as hell

-Fukase is disabled, hence the cane, and doesn’t typically mind it too much because it lets him skip out on a lot of stuff in PE and other such things. His one complaint is that he can’t really carry Len bc of his balance, but Len insists it’s ok

-While being a bit of a twig and not a fan of exercise, but he does have a bit of upper body mass because he plays drums and has used crutches/wheelchairs at several points in life. Len’s the more athletic of the two tho and likes to brag about

-Len has dog energy and Fukase has cat energy

-Len bought Fukase a pair of those headphones with cat ears on them. Fukase said it was stupid, asked why he spent money on them and claimed he’d never wear them, but he often uses them at home

-They’ve faked a proposal for free food

-Len kinda doesn’t really know what exactly Fukase is or how he works but also doesn’t really care

-Fukase loves showing Len games that are actually horror games but don’t seem like it at first. Len always gets suspicion and Fukase always goes “nonono this ones’s fine it’s not scary at all I promise” and Len always falls for it

-After Len complained about it enough he finally manages to get Fukase to eat three meals a day (or at least try to). Fukase forgets to every now and again but Len’s usually there to remind him

-Despite the fact that nothing seems to make Len insecure ever, there was one time his perfect skin had a pimple and he refused to come out of his room for almost anything. Fukase had to sit outside his room and convince him it really wasn’t that bad on three separate occasions

-One time when Len and Rin were hanging out with Miku and some popular friends after a concert Fukase borrowed Flower’s motorbike to pick Len up so he’d seem cool. Was very effective on Len but the others were like “lmao you two are dorks” and “Wait is Fukase even allowed to drive that”

-Their friends were genuinely very surprised to find out that they liked each other because they both had this very tsundere-esque, mean, teasing and pulling no punches way of interacting so everyone figured they really disliked each other (both of them were surprised to find that the other liked them back too)

-When Fukase and Moke, who were the last members to join the friend group, first met Len, Fukase really disliked him while Moke adored him. This was in big part because Fukase knew Len’s celebrity image as an arrogant, self obsessed, annoying asshole, and Moke, being very into otaku culture, was a big fan who idolizes him and found his celebrity image to be talented and charming. However, when they actually got to know him, the script completely flipped and Fukase now finds him dumb, but charming, while Moke just finds him unbearable

One day I was fine then suddenly Ghost appears all of my fyp on tiktok and i can’t escape him. Now I have Simon Riley brain rot and I don’t even play first person shooters

Anyways, Simon has been in the army for god knows how long, going on long expeditions with his team and very rarely sees home. Because of that, he can eat just about anything and constantly drinks his tea and coffee black.

I imagine that at home tho, it’s different. He has specific places he’ll eat from and he’ll get the same thing every time. He always puts sugar and creme in his tea and coffee. Also, he is a huge fan of sweets.

There’s a bakery not too far from where he lives that he always visits when he is home. The sweets are just the best he’s had and definitely has nothing to do with you behind the counter always giving him the biggest and sweetest smile when you see him.

Has nothing to do with how you welcome him back with open arms. How you never ask what he does for a living. How you always give him an extra pastry every time because he has such sad and tired eyes and you hoped that an extra goodie would help brighten his day just a little bit.
