Anyways since it's not common knowledge that you can get into doing stained glass really easily nowadays i thought I'd go ahead and put together a quick and dirty explanation on it. Prices are given in USD and are based on how much they cost at my localish stained glass shop in jul 2022 but all items can be gotten at larger craft stores or online.

Hobby Lobby has an extensive stained glass section usually. They also have coupons and don't put barcodes on their merchandise so they don't always track their stock super well. do with that last bit of information what you will

Supplies:

Mandatory Tools, buy these once and never again (unless they break or somethin):

Glass cutters: Pencil grip if you're confident in your hand strength, Pistol grip if you have joint issues (most of the folk i know irl that are into stained glass are arthritic and swear by the pistol grips, do with that tinfo what you will)

Pliers: You'll need 2 types, grozzier pliers and curved jaw pliers. these are not the same as the pliers you use in most other applications. you can usually get both bundled with a glass cutter for less than 30$

Soldering Iron: Get one that comes with a soldering station and a flat chisel shaped tip. Weller is the industry standard. 40 bucks.

semi optional: a wet grinder: not 100 percent necessary but it makes life a hundred times easier and lets you do more complicated shapes with less skill than you would need otherwise, so I'm putting it here. It's vital that it's a wet grinder because aerosolized glass dust is bad for your everything. 90$. if you don't get a wet grinder you will just need some 400 grit or higher waterproof sandpaper. Wet sand your pieces. Do not dry sand.

70-190$ to start

consumables:

Glass: comes in two main types, Translucent/Cathedral, and Opaque. From there there are Many variations including waterglass and iridescent glass. Prices range from 8$ a square foot up to a couple hundred for handmade artisan stuff, but most seem to be between 10$ and 20$ 1 square foot of glass goes further than you think it will

Solder: Must Be Acid Free. Solder with an acid core is really common because that's what's used in every other application. it will not work for stained glass. Solder comes in 4 main types but there's plenty of others out there: lead free, 60/40, 70/30, and 50/50. Get 60/40 to start out unless the lead scares you, then get lead free. (the lead content in solder is not dangerous so long as you aren't regularly licking the final product/using it for food. The fumes can cause migraines tho so ventilation is a good idea) 26$ per pound, goes a long way

Flux: any solder flux will do, 4$ lasts forever

glass cutting oil: it's what it says on the tin, use this with the glass cutter to make it work. 10$ per bottle lasts forever.

copper foil tape: used to make the solder stick to the glass. comes in may sizes, just grab one that's thicker than your glass and Feels right. what width you use is entirely personal preference on anything that's not too big. 7$

Homasote/compressed cellulose fiber board/ cork/ ceiling tiles/ drywall/ plywood: You're going to need something to solder and pin your glass pieces on, any of these will do. All of them are reusable but you will probably need to cut them down to more comfortably fit your project which is why I'm putting them here instead of the buy them once category. 69¢ for the cieling tiles to like 50$ for a sheet of homasote get whatever is easiest/cheapest. or solder on a heat proof surface you already have.

tarnish/patina: the solder will naturally turn black overtime but it won't look pretty while doing it. you either need to clean it regularly or just accept that it will tarnish and do the work for it. Tarnish commonly comes in black and bronze. don't let these get on your skin. it won't hurt but prolonged and repeat exposure is a cancer and chemical burn risk. 11$

~100$. everything besides the glass and solder will last a couple dozen projects at minimum, most will last Mucho longer.

optional:

Nick's Grinder's Mate. it's a special made item for stained glass grinding but if you don't like your hands getting wet or have issues with your hands it makes the process So Much Easier.

Metal or glass head sewing pins. they're used to help hold your glass in place while soldering many people don't use them at all.

plastic waffle grid: it catches the tiny little glass shards that flake off while cutting. It just makes clean up much much Much easier and reduces the amount of shards that end up on the floor and in your feet (please wear shoes while cutting glass, i don't, but you should.)

Safety:

Eye protection, you don't need anything super extreme but yeah glass shards bad.

gardening gloves with thick palm and finger protection to reduce cuts and handle pieces during soldering.

bandaids, glass cuts don't usually hurt but they do bleed. think paper cut in terms of severity.

additional bits you probably already have:

scissors, paper, sharpie or dry erase markers, glue sticks

Basic process

find or draw up a pattern

make 2 copies of it, one to use as reference one to cut up and glue to your glass as a pattern. Alternatively you can trace your pattern onto the glass if you'd rather not use the paper

number the pieces on both the glass and the pattern to avoid having to do a broken glass jigsaw puzzle.

score the glass

use the pliers to break along your score lines

wet sand the sharp edges or grind to final shape

(if you're starting with a pre cut kit which are apparently becoming more common, skip to here) clean the pieces to remove grunge so the tape will stick

wrap edges in copper tape,

burnish them to smooth out the foil, i just use the handle on my scissors

arange the pieces in their final shape, pin them if desired.

coat the copper tape in flux and tack the joints together with solder.

run a bead of solder along the lines.

flip the piece and repeat 10 and 11

cover the edges.

add tarnish if desired.

ooh and ah over your final piece.

So I had a bit of an angsty though. What if during the events mc when when everything is fucked after Tricky high jacking the artifacts, that during him losing it but everything is still gone to hell. What if the player, hear me out. In order to restore the balance of the world(not completely tho). They have to do something like a hard reset to put things back in order. Aka, sacrifice themselves 👀

Like how it would be the alternate end to the it and depending on what happens, the player is sent back home or comes back shortly after permanently. (Still some madness going around, just not having hell above the world)

So for it being super long winded and I hope it makes sense 😅

You couldn’t believe this was happening…

What had gone so wrong for the world of Nevada for it to end up like this?

After all your guidance, you still managed to screw up this badly. At first, it was with Deimos’s death, then Hank’s magnification and mutation, then Tricky acquiring the Keystone Fragment and improbability drives, and now…hell runs amok in Nevada.

Around your bruised and battered form lies your friends and allies. Each injured and near death as the fire of hell roars around you all. You look at the one that you used to call your friend too…Tricky.

Now demonic and mutated beyond recognition, with the artifacts and the power of the Auditor inside of his very being, he looks at you as if he doesn’t recognize you. The madness now runs so deep within him that his mind no longer operates properly.

He merely wants to kill you all…and he was slowly succeeding.

You pant and hold your injured arm, staring the demonic form of Tricky down as your remaining friends lay behind you. The only thing stopping Tricky from finishing them all off…is you standing between him and them, your iridescent strings binding his form.

You were already injured, and despite your strings barely holding the demonic entity back, you still stand before him in defiance. Protecting those that you have come to hold dear.

Your mind races as the skeletal demon tugs and snaps at the strings that bind him, desperate to get free so that he may finish the job.

What can you do to stop this…this…this madness? 

The world of Nevada was lost to the growing hellfires…and in the deepest parts of your bones, you can feel those in Nevada suffering. Some of the remaining living grunts even pray to you as they wish and cry out to be saved by someone…anyone.

All their pain…all their deaths…their last dying breaths…you can feel them all. You are in as much pain as the rest of the world…and Tricky, or what USED to be Tricky, needed to be stopped before he consumed the world.

You were always praised as a god by the local populace of Nevada. But as you stand here before the corrupted form of Tricky…you doubted that you deserved such a title.

How can you be a god…and not save anyone from this horrible calamity?

You could barely even save anyone…you failed Deimos.

You failed Nevada, you failed Tricky, and even the remaining of your own friends. You were a failure and you were alone on the cusp of deciding the fate for the entirety of Nevada.

But you couldn’t fail…only when you give up would Nevada truly be lost.

There had to be something you could do to combat this chaos…to restore order.

So as you endure the pain and the burning fires around you, you search for a way to fix things. Going through all your codes and your consoles, you search as quickly as you could…and you find something.

‘Hard Reset’.

The red string of code glows in warning as you read the title again and again.

That’s right…you could call to the hands of time…to turn back the clock and reset everything back to the way it was…whenever. Back to a simpler time before the madness grew to such straits. Before you lost Deimos, before Hank became a mag, before Tricky was lost to insanity, and before Nevada began to burn.

You always reset when you lost your vessels before…you could do it again.

You select the code in your console and a bright warning suddenly flashes up in your UI.

‘WARNING! Hard Resets results in the total erasure of save data and backups! Upon resetting, all progress will be lost and all values reset back to zero! Following user data will be deleted upon reset! Do you wish to continue? Y/N’

You take a moment to pause as the warning blinks brightly, obviously detailing the warning of triggering it. You take a second to reflect on your decision.

That’s right…a hard reset erases everything. Memories, unlockables, missions, choices, and achievements…and it may even erase you from existence.

All your friends will forget you. All the memories you made together will no longer exist. You weren’t even sure if you were going to make it out of this…but what else could you do?

Tricky was too powerful…and their world was burning.

Would you risk your own existence if it meant that your friends could live again? Would you give everything for Nevada, a place that wasn’t even your home dimension? Did you love them all that much?

You merely let out a slight huff of a laugh.

Of course you did.

You love all of your vessels. If that meant that you can give them another chance to live again and find a happier ending…you would gladly give them that chance. Even if it meant that you would no longer be a part of their lives. Even if it meant you would no longer be a part of Nevada.

Without a second more of hesitation, you select the code and enter ‘Y’ into the console.

The world suddenly blinks red and you feel yourself beginning to glow. The code that you selected bursting from your body, strand after strand, each ascending into the sky.

You hear someone call out for you and you turn to look over your shoulder.

Seeing 2B painfully trying to pick himself up as the others try to do the same. Despite their grave injuries, they still attempt to stand as they fumble and fall over.

The light pouring from your chest continues to build in intensity as your body begins to destabilize, the other looking on in horror as Tricky hisses at the intense light that radiates from your body.

“What did you do?! What’s going on?!?” You hear 2B shout out to you.

You could only smile and try to hold back tears as your body begins to burn and more codes are executed from your glitching console.

“Fixing Nevada.” You say simply.

“What?! What do you mean?!! Player, what’s happening to you??” 2B continues to yell from behind you as your strings all become white hot and start to burn into Tricky, causing him to roar in pain.

“I…I’m fixing Nevada. I’m going to give you all another chance.” You explain, ignoring how the burning in your chest intensifies as the light gets brighter and brighter.

“I’m doing my duty as a ‘god’. I’m answering the prayers of Nevadeans. I’m saving the world. But…I won’t be there to celebrate with you all. Not in body…and not in memory.” You continue.

“What the fuck?? What…what’s going on??” Sanford grunts out from his place nearby as 2B continues to try and stand, his weak legs barely holding him up.

“Player! Stop! We can defeat Tricky, just let us get back up! Instantheal us!” 2B cries out, almost like he was losing his composure.

“I’m sorry, 2B. But Nevada is lost. If we did defeat Tricky…the world would be nothing but ash. I have to do this. I’m going to make this all seem like it’s just some horrible dream.”

You look over your shoulder towards your collapsed vessels. Tears freely running down your face as you give them a broken smile and try your best not to sob.

“Don’t worry. It’s all going to be okay. I promise. Deimos will be here, Hank will be himself, Tricky will be back to his own brand of normal, and Nevada will be okay. Even if you forget me…I won’t forget you all.”

You allow your tears to freely fall as the burning in your chest grows unbearable.

“I love you all and thank you for such a memorable adventure. I’ll do better next time.”

You see all your vessels struggle to get off the ground as they try to approach you, despite the bright light that is now breaking through your form.

“Player, no! Wait!”

“What the fuck do you think you’re doing!?”

“Stop!”

You hear them all say, but your progress bar suddenly fills and you could only wave at them in a sorrowful way as the light consumes your body.

“GoodbyeeeeeeaaaaAAAAAGGGHAAAAAHH!!” You scream as your farewell changes into a burning shrill wail as the light completely consumes your body and begins to engulf all that surrounds you.

Causing all the remaining vessels to wince and flinch at the intense heat and Tricky to roar as he melts from the volume of light that burns into his body.

The light continues to expand, slowly taking in all of Nevada as the world falls apart. Consuming every last inch of the world into a pristine white glowing void.

Then there’s the sudden echoing sound of something shattering that resonates throughout the entirety of the white void…

And then 2B wakes up.

He sits up in a thick layer of cold sweat, looking around himself and finding a familiar room laid out before him. He lets out a groan as he sits up on a familiar lumpy couch, his head having a massive headache for some reason.

He hears the sound of movement ringing throughout the base which piques his interest.

He gets up and leaves his messy and dingy room behind as he walks into the living area of their make-shift temporary base.

In the room, he sees Hank sitting on the couch watching Slaughter Time, Sanford messing about in the kitchen area, and Deimos polishing up their weapons and guns. For some reason…2B felt a sense of relief come over him when he laid eyes on Deimos.

Maybe it was from that bad dream he had? What was that dream about again…he was…somewhere. There was something very bad going on…and then there was light.

He remembers reaching for someone…but he doesn’t remember who.

2B feels his head hurt again as he tries to think about what happened, but nothing comes to mind. No matter how hard he tries to tell himself.

And the more he stared at the other three in the living room…the more off something made him feel. Like…he was pretty sure that this was his entire team. Who else could he be missing?

Wasn’t there always just three coworkers?

The frustration and confusion he was feeling only seemed to make him upset.

So, he ignores the other three grunts and walks into the area that served as his research station. Sitting down and typing entries on his computers and tablets. Trying to see where he left off from work…but something notable catches his eye.

Something that invokes a feeling of deja vu.

There was an entry that was left open on his screen…and it seemed to be talking about a powerful being that the Auditor was getting into contact with called ‘The Player’.

Player….Player….Player…

Why…

Why did that sound so familiar…?

And why doesn’t he remember typing this entry?

Big Bug Appreciation Post! (1/2)

For anyone who’s been on my blog, or has interacted with me, it’s no surprise I’m a bug enthusiast. But I don’t think I’ve ever made an official bug appreciation post, and there are a lot of bugs in my state that I think are super neat, so I wanted to briefly talk about them here. Not all of them will be insects though.

Unfortunately, I won’t be putting in any isopods or roaches because my state doesn’t have a whole lot of those guys that I would consider “particularly special.” But just note that I do appreciate isopods and roaches, and think that they have a great impact on their natural environments.

Anyway, onto the bugs!

Blue-Winged Wasp

These babes usually hang out in the dog fennel near my yard, and I think they’re very pretty wasps. Their wings are an iridescent blue (hence the name), and their yellow spots are quite cute. They're also relatively chill, so you can stand pretty close to them and they wouldn’t care.

2. Common Paper Wasp

They’re everywhere, but I’d be lying if I said they weren’t pretty either. I think that they have a really neat color palette and super cool pattern to them. I’ve had personal experience with them, and I’ve always made sure that when I went on my balcony, that I didn’t present as a threat to them. Overall, I enjoyed sitting with these pretty critters.

3. Giant Leopard Moth

They look like snow leopards! Ironically enough, similar to how snow leopards are closely related to tigers, leopard moths are closely related to tiger moths (in fact, they’re in the same family). I raised one of these guys. His name was Napoleon, and he was the fanciest little guy 🩵.

4. Amber Snail

It’s usually stated online that amber snails are a pretty rare species. So I think it was pretty neat how I once found five or six on my mom’s calla lilies. They’re very tiny and very adorable, ‘nuff said.

5. Golden Sill Orb Weaver

A huge species of orb weaver that I think is absolutely gorgeous. These gals can get big, and I mean BIG. But no matter the size, it’s always a treat to see them during walks into the woods.

6. Agapostemon Sweat Bee

Agapostemon is actually just a genus of sweat bee, and I’ve personally come across at least two species. All I really need to say about these guys is that they’re metallic green bees, and the ones that live near my house are surprisingly mega chill (I still wouldn’t hold one tho lol).

7. Bee Fly

Maybe not as cute as their Japanese relatives, but they’re still whimsical little fairy creatures that I would absolutely pet in a heartbeat (if given the chance).

8. Flatback Millipede

I just wanted to bring up how metal I think these guys are. 10/10, absolutely fire little guys 🔥🔥🔥.

9. Eastern Pondhawk

They’re everywhere in the local pond and I love them. They’re one of my favorite examples of dimorphism because of how cool the females look (they’re the green ones). But sometimes it can be hard to distinguish a male and a female because younger males are more green. Still, they’re cool bugs.

10. Violet Dancer

In my opinion, one of the prettiest species of damselflies. I’ve encountered one of these before (at a swamp). They’re just as vibrant as in the pictures 💜.

11. Ebony Jewelwing

Another beautiful damselfly! This time, on a larger scale. These can also be found in swamps, and their metallic green color is super cool.

12. Swallowtails (Just in General)

Swallowtails are my state’s official butterfly, and the reason for that is pretty simple: They’re literally everywhere. The most common is the Eastern Tiger, but there are other species, such as: The Black Swallowtail, Zebra Swallowtail, Pipevine Swallowtail, and probably even more. Another neat thing about them is that they’re in the same family as the world’s largest butterfly species: The Queen Alexandra’s Birdwing. So there’s some fun lil trivia for ya 👍.

13. Golden Northern Bumblebee

They’re very friend-shaped, and also very big. In fact, some of them can get bigger than carpenter bees. They don’t visit very often, but I really like them.

14. Variegated Fritillary

A very close relative of the gulf fritillary. In fact, I found caterpillars of both species eating passion vine together.

You can usually tell them apart pretty easily since Variegated caterpillars are lined with white dots. Also, fun fact: Their spines are non-stinging and completely harmless in general.

15. Larger Elm Leaf Beetle

Super friend-shaped, and extremely lightweight (you will barely feel them on your hand). They're pretty easy to handle since they’re very docile. But they’re considered pests to certain plants, so they’re not very liked by gardeners.

16. Golden Tortoise Beetle

Also friend-shaped, but very tiny and super skittish. One really interesting thing about them is that their larvae use their own feces as a shield. So, yeah, that’s a thing that they do.

17. Imperial Moth

A close relative of the Luna Moth (they’re in the same family). They might not be the most extravagant moths, but they have a rustic charm to them, and they remind me of bananas. Also, they’re fluffy, so they’re automatically cute.

18. Pink-Striped Oakworm Moth

A much smaller relative of the Luna Moth (also in the same family). These babes are nocturnal and absolutely adorable.

19. Antlion

Despite being shaped like a damselfly, these fellas are more closely related to lacewings and mantidflies. You may recognize their name, and that’s because the most notable thing about antlions is their larvae (also called “doodlebugs”).

Y’know, these silly lil guys. The ones that make pit traps to eat their favorite food: Ants. They're funky. I love them.

20. Spring Fishfly

I just think they’re cool. They come from water.

21. Woolly Apple Aphid

Adorable, fluffy, whimsical fairy creatures. I had the pleasure of holding one once. You can’t even feel them on your finger.

22. Red Velvet Ant/ Cow Killer

Despite her name, she’s not actually an ant. She’s a type of wasp in the family Mutilidae, where females are wingless. These wasps (specifically the males) are called “cow killers” because of a myth that said their stings were so powerful, they could kill a cow. This isn’t true tho.

23. Crane Fly

They look like giant mosquitoes, but fear not! They won’t hurt you! In fact, one of their nicknames is “mosquito eater.” But they don’t actually eat mosquitoes. At least, the adults don’t. They don’t even have the proper mouthparts to do that. Instead, Crane Flies feed on nectar, which makes them minor pollinators. So while they can get everywhere once they spawn, they’re not actually that big of a problem. And they’re super frail, so please be gentle if you want to hold them🤎.

24. Two-Spotted Longhorn Bee

Absolutely adorable! They don’t visit very often, but when they do, they like to visit the sage in the garden. I usually find them frequently the same plants as the Leafcutter bees.

25. Giant Water Bug

One of the coolest dudes ever. You’ll always find them anywhere wet, but please know that they can get BIG. They won’t charge after you, but they will bite if they feel threatened, and it will hurt. I’ve encountered these funky guys before, and I just admire them from a good distance.

26. Promachus Robber Flies

Promachus is also just a genus of robber fly (I don’t know how many species live in my state tho). I just think they look cool. And they’re good for pest control 👍.

27. Common Checkered Skipper

Cute little babies that are slightly blue. I have one in my bug collection.

28. Long-Tailed Skipper

Another cute little baby. And also blue! These things are pretty common in the garden, and I’m always happy to see them.

THE NYMPHS!

(Cause I replayed one of the games and cried)

Betilla; Oldest Nymph, has fairy genetics, legit one of the rulers of the council or has a lot of power. Also most mom…will take care of everything and everyone. Very protective, Polokus/bubble dreamers favourite Forest Nymph.

Also the eggplants mom so she’s there for him all the time.

Helena Handbasket; cool aunt…no like really cold to the touch. Knows hunting skills and gathering. Knitted Ray a lot of sweaters for winter & always gets them as christmas presents. Very sweet & soft spoken. Always a rosy nose of the cold. Loves warm hugs & smores

Edith Up; Fun Party Nymph, makes great buffet and deserts. Most relaxed one of all, smells good like fruit n makes a smashing sangria (bc of the ice level with the fruits)! Strong as heck but very sweet sensitive soul. Has a cookbook when Ray moves out & loves when his pal Globox comes to visit with him.

Holly Luya; ….one of the prettiest nymphs, can harmonise everything. Music is not only noise but spiritual, as it moves the Glade of Dreams in the right path of wealth & growth. Most intelligent in healing & rehabilitation, and is gifted with a golden warm voice. Everyone who visits desert of the digiridoos leaves with a smile and she is just fun to hang around. Gave Ray his first guitar….a broken one sadly.

Anetta Fish; great fun nymph, super strength and fast swimmer. Mermaidy coral, flashy colors and pears from the most beautiful oysters. Hates seagulls just like the rest. Iridescent skin in sunlight and dark eyes to see well in the sea. Also just fun to hang around & will take you to secret lagoons to relax. Gives rayman some nice pearls & rocks from the beach as gifts when he visits.

Fee De La Mort; I am biased…best nymph. (Super alternative but in that cool way tho? ), knows vodoo (obv cause the name implies). Will turn you in to a frog if you are rude, will turn into her monster form if you are Really mean. Lives in a dark house underground and will throw great parties, expect the loudest rock music you’ll ever hear. A bit sassy but in a good way, and also loves art. If you want tattoos go to her studio it’s the best. Will offer Rayman for piercings & tattoos but Betilla won’t allow it. Gave him an “eye”-phone in a gift, left him uncomfortable. Still uses it tho… also introduced Rayman to Metal. He thinks she’s the cool aunt but won’t tell anyone in fear of hurting them.

Also raymesis has a crush on her.

BONUS ROUND!:

Ly:…Rayman’s first crush and one of the most powerful fairies ever, everyone miss her and she never calls back. She just disappears if she doesn’t like things. Very cat like, but honest and sweet, will chit chat with Rayman for a while about his growth. Also give him a silver lum as a present….like every year.

Uglette; If you are sad? Visit uglette, the glades uncertified therapist and big momma. She will take good care of you and your friends, will call you “baby, darling” etc. you feel right at home. Good soup at globs house. Always cheerful. Rayman loves going to her house and eat dinner and just have a good time, especially if the feelings in him are a bit down. Will give him socks and scarfs for christmas. Homemade pie too

HCs about Sleep Token's eyes

They all have horrendous eye bags. yes all of them.

they also all have reflective eyes bc its creepy and I like it. I think it's hot. If someone shines a light on them in a group, it looks smth like this:

Vessel

Vessel's eyes look brown from far away, but they are just really a dark red. Their shape is very feline with a very prominent lower lash line, and usually his pupils are slitted. They are especially prominent in the sunlight. His pupils will often contract and dilate with his emotions like a cat. If he's really pissed off, they will contract to a needle's point. But if he's really, really happy his pupils will blow so wide you can barely even see the iris.

believe it or not vessel does not have angry eyes, they are just very intense. He has eyes like a predator, like a snake or just any dangerous animal, really.

making eye contact with him is hard because his eyes are kind of unnerving, in a good way kind of? (Listen I'm trying to not make this sound really weird, ok?) His eyes look other-worldly and omniscient; like if you make eye contact, he will know everything about you.

especially at rituals, because under Sleep's influence they will glow gold. It's part of the reason he wears the mask.

If you look closely, you can see a very tiny rim of gold around his pupil, but most of the time it will look copper or bronze because of dim lighting.

They look hauntingly beautiful and dangerous.

ii has very large eyes, not like bug eyes or anything, they are just very prominent. They have a very wide shape, with very dark lashes. His eyes almost look Vanta-black. They absorb all the light around them. ii got that boba eyes autism stare.

His irises are also very large, leaving little room for the white.

he looks almost bored or sad all the time bc his eyes are kind of droopy. They often look misty like he's somewhere else mentally.

he has the best puppy dog eyes bc when he tears up it is gut wrenching (the watery eyes make him look not super creepy, and kind of like a baby cow)

He is not hard to make eye contact with like Vessel is, it's hard to keep eye contact with him. He will stare you down for what it seems like forever (in reality tho he just really doesn't blink that often and is probably zoned tf out).

when he feels intense emotions, his pupils turn slitted and white; that's when his eyes look really creepy. This has only happened on few occasions though, so the sight is rare.

also, his tears are black bc I said so and it looks sick asf

iii has very pretty doe eyes

They shift in color with the light depending on the angle you look at them. He has little tiny flecks of iridescent white in them. You can only see them if you get really close though *cough cough* VESSEL *cough*

he probably has the most "normal" eyes out of all of them, honestly.

His eyes look very kind, like a mother, but also very tiered. He gives a lot of himself to others, and it really shows in his eyes if that makes any sense? (I literally don't know how to explain it I'm sorry)

iii has the most long and beautiful lashes you've ever seen on a human being (jealous fr oh my god. and are any of them even human anyway?)

His eyes are just so beautiful it's hard to look away, and in the sunlight, they almost glow. He's got them Gojo Satoru anime eyes

He's the only one of them who's eyes aren't super off-putting in some way. they're still kinda creepy, just like, the least creepy.

iv's eyes are angry and stern. His eyes are like the fallen angel painting (the one by Alexandre Cabanel). He's not actually that pissed off all the time, he just has major resting bitch face.

His eyes are a pale-ice blue, with the pupils being a slightly darker blue. Around the edge of the iris is a dark rim, with that being the darkest part of his eyes. His upper lash line is the most prominent, with his lower lash line looking kind of red; and his eyebrows sit very low.

Instead of his pupils contracting, the rim around his irises will instead. In emotionally intense moments, the rim will close so far over the irises that his pupils look like little white dots.

His eyes are sharp, and predator-like, similar to vessel. He doesn't have the "alure" that Vessel has, just the "dangerous" look if that makes sense.

He is generally the more stoic type, but you can see in his eyes that he holds on to a lot of anger or just any intense emotion in general. He has a hard time letting go of things.

In more vulnerable moments, his eyes look like he's pleading or begging. He looks a little scared, like he might get hurt.

totally agree about orange scent being rushed, i remember being pretty upset over it because he’s been stuck in this way of thinking for so long, he quite literally runs away from his problems and hes shown to very much struggle with changing his thinking e.g. worrying and then for him to suddenly change his mind after a walk? idk it seemed quite bizarre to me. like u said i think if there was a gap, where he processed the conversation in the graveyard and maybe aaron talk to him some more, maybe even peanut doing his thing!! it would’ve worked well. moreover what upsets me is that you don’t even see the ring in the evolved cg - you see the ring on mc’s finger in the other 3 cards but not in Luke’s!! also i felt it odd he engraved a french word when the whole spanish neruda thing was RIGHT There. don’t get me wrong i love the card but… i wish it had been written and released way later than the second anniversary you know?

irt my in the moment reacts to SSR Orange Scent and then my day-after reacts/thoughts about the story's pacing

on the rushed aspect: i neednt add more there because yeah i go into why it's odd to me in my last response. like, mc even says it herself in the story, she thinks "one heart to heart wont fix all this" or something along those lines and she understands that!! but the story had to wrap up in one last act jkhVSHFKSJH SADS

....ive actually been thinking about it more and wondering now if the 3-act pacing/structure issues is less a fault of the card itself and more a fault of what was sposed to come before it. because like i said earlier, anniv 1 cards didnt feel rushed even if it they were also 3 acts because they were preceded by the overarching story of the Blossom Chapters. meanwhile.....the Sweet Chapters, while enjoyable, just dont do as much of a good job at developing the relationship mainly because their stories are shorter one-offs. each sweet chapter is self contained instead of leading into each other and that...i think that really showed its downside here with luke's anniv 2.

because if i had to remedy the pacing of the anniv 2 card without adding a scene in between act 2 and act 3....i would change it so that instead of mc referencing the double rainbow back in SSR Iridescent Heartbeat, she references some kind key event that happened in a more well developed previous sweet chapter story, an event that fits with mc's desire for luke to do things for himself and to listen to his own feelings, and express those feelings.

on the word engraved on the ring: i really like devoument (however u spell it kjHVKJSF) for luke's ring!!! u have a point that a reference to neruda in spanish wouldve also been super fitting, tho idk, i loved that luke's word was devotion/sacrifice. since his devotion and sacrifice (and the Faults of his devotion and sacrifice) is so central in this card's story. is there a pablo neruda poem that uses a spanish word/term that has a similar definition? if yes, then that would So Very Much be a wonderful word as well to replace the french one.

on the "written and released later": i dont completely relate to this one! and thats alright! all of us are gonna be reacting and interpreting stories differently. frankly of all the boys, luke is the most fitting one imo to be proposing after one year of dating, given his circumstances and his worries. the "rushing" that i feel is less on luke's choices and more on the structural pacing of the story (and the stories that have come before it) but man....to me, luke Would propose this early.

Not super happy with him, brains been fighting me again trying to figure how to approach this. In the end i picked colors from the concept art, tho i still ended up fiddling with them anyway.

Figured Trio should be an Atlas beetle as a kind of contrast to Duo’s form, which is sleeker. His elytra have nicks in them to resemble his actual wings a bit. Tried to keep the pointiness level a little higher than normal. As well as having a little bit of iridescence.

So yan4yan Leo/Reader (R) where R is perfectly content playing the darling who can't do a damn thing for themselves bc it makes their pretty slider happy & keeps him theirs until they learn about what happened to Leo during the attempted Kraang invasion, specifically what happened in the Prison Dimension, & they do a complete 180 of sorts. R knows they can't subdue & entrap their perfect gorgeous slider by themselves, not while he still has access to his powers at least, so they start slowly manipulating his brothers into helping them when Leo's not around & clinging to the slider anytime he tries to go anywhere by himself, practically begging him to take someone with him. Until finally they manage to convince Donnie to make something to suppress Leo's powers & all three of them to go along w/ & allow whatever R does to Leo bc "I nearly lost him before I even knew him. I nearly never met the love of my life. Can you blame me for wanting to keep him close, at least until I process that, for the sake of soothing my frazzled nerves that are terrified that he's GONE!? That the love we've shared is nothing more than an iridescent pipe dream!? I just. I need to be sure he's safe & alive & here with me, at least until I've processed this. Please." And Leo doesn't know whether to be impressed, terrified, sad, or delighted at this development. There's a perhaps odd reason why I don't really focus on Leo's trauma from the movie- it's because I see it so much in other writers' content to the point I focus on his other problems BEFORE the movie rather than the events of the film.

You're probably thinking: "Why Celina? It's such a major string of events and character development!"

It's true, that it's bad I'm disregarding such a big experience for Leo, but I also like to think of the other things more because I just think it's a waste people forget about it.

For example, remember Leo got super pissy while they tried to rescue Raph (like when he was in the driver's seat?) well for one thing he wanted to save Raph, and the sight before him of Raph's shell being cracked was another, but I personally think his lack of self-worth in terms of bringing his qualities to the table really drove his emotions.

Like- he felt he absolutely had to rescue Raph immediately because he's worried, and he would feel more useless not doing anything to save his brother.

But that's only my thought.

I keep forgetting you send me this ask Oli hold on ok I don't really have that many thoughts, but I will just give you the general way I characterize Ashe:

She/He swag.

I recently watched Yakko's beating every 3d sonic game in a week video and that for some reason has greatly shaped my view of Ashe Winters. Interpret that as you will??????? I have no idea how to explain it.

He and Vyncent stay back a lot whenever Will n Dakota go out bc they both have issues with being out in public (and neither of them like being alone)

she's the perfect balance actually to the triad bc it always means they're able to duo off and no one is left alone. Her n Vyn bond over not liking to be in public n also not being really human. With William bc they are both emo and with Dakota bc he is an extrovert that adopts introverts and is so charming.

whatever way I write Ashe, he will never be fully human in my mind, sorry can't write him normally.

If I give Ashe Wings: they're like silver wings the same color as her hair and she has feathers all the way up her back and behind her ears. She is super fluffy and there are even feathers in her hair. She also has VERY big wings like they are proportionate to her body, if she were not frail and vitamin deficient she would be able to fly with them.

But he also never takes care of his wings because he doesn't know HOW. No one ever tried to show him and he is too uncomfortable in his body to try and look up. It also doesn't help that his wings are MASSIVE. He can only reach like an itty bit on the inside of his wings, so preening is useless.

She can chirp and click and chitter and absolutely HATES that she can and that she does it unintentionally a lot. She hates it so much because she knows it's not normal and that that's not how to be human. So he tries to hold it back as much as possible.

I think it's silly bc Vyncent also chirps but they chirp in wildly different tones so it's always a jumpscare for both of them. But like a good jumpscare. Bc Vyncent hasn't heard similar tones in a long time and yet Ashe can also chirp and woah. We aren't that different actually.

The fact that Vyncent isn't human either is a big reassurance to Ashe. Like they bond fr!

if I give her scales!!! ohohohooo so silly. Idk what color scales she would have but they are iridescent and don't work very well to be scales, they are fragile and very weak. Her scales will break easily and constantly peel off bc gene issues and humans are not supposed to have scales.

She has scales on her cheeks (like freckles), down her neck, her shoulders/collar bone, at her hands and wrists, down her back and on her legs. They're a lot less noticeable than Mark's so she doesn't necessarily have to hide them as much bc if you don't look close they're hard to see. But they are very itchy and uncomfortable.

He wears a scarf and fingerless gloves both to hide the scales and to make them easier to deal with. Compression = doesn't itch as bad so it helps.

Mark gave him literally NO information on the scales thing. Like what the hell do you do when the only other person in the entire world that might know what to do or understand the situation is your FATHER who is never there and you would never go to for personal questions like this? Ashe had to learn everything himself.

He does not know how to deal with shedding. It is a very painful process bc he doesn't know how to do it. He could just soak in a nice warm bath for a bit and it would be so much easier but it's Ashe, she doesn't do that.

She has been alone for so long that now she actually has some friends, he gets so nervous when left alone. Him :handshake: Vyncent.

I keep comparing him to Vyncent but they are both creatures, ok last comparison tho. They both have probably the worst people to ever base how to be normal off of, especially for Ashe.

Like Vyncent is not human, Ashe cannot use him as a basis on how to act normal. William is... well he's william, he's one end of the extreme spectrum. Dakota is at the complete opposite end.

They are the worst influences on Ashe, sorry. They are.

Ashe is very quiet during conversations and doesn't contribute much, he just watches and observes. He listens and remembers and does who knows what with that information.

He has curly hair, sorry I hit all of them with the curly hairification beam I can't describe any other hair type. Very long, frizzy curly hair, not as bad as Dakota but he also doesn't take care of it much.

He is a GAMER this is CANON but I think it's SILLY and I need to reiterate it.

He is probably the best at video games out of the four but that isn't like a big achievement. It's like Jay being the most sensible of the riptide pirates again. But he is actually really good at video games.

William forces him to play horror games and he shrieks anytime something scary happens (he HATES Horror).

Back on the fact that he is a very quiet person, however... there are a few things that he will go on HOUR rants about (video game plots, movies, tv shows, stupid internet facts. He knows so much internet lore) and it's like finding cheat codes to get him to talk about something. bc without being prompted, he won't contribute to a conversation at all.

Parallel play is her love language fr, but like he literally doesn't know anything else because no one ever spends time with her lol

ITS TIME FOR FLUFFY PUFFBALL HEADCANNONS CAUSE I DIDN’T SLEEP LAST NIGHT!

Kirby : He’s a baby/child still so his fur is suuuuper long and just fluffed everywhere. its so thick at this age that you can hardly even tell that he has paws- can’t even see his lil’ paw beans underneath it all. He loves getting brushed tho its great and comfy. When he gets older his fur will probably shorten but honestly who knows he might be one of the puffs with longer fur. Since he’s so young though his fluff is suuuper soft, kinda like the down feathers on baby birds.

Meta Knight : Don’t let the state of his fur fool you- he is definitely an adult. he just doesn’t bother with brushing his fur. its super long and just takes far too much time to deal with despite the fact that its probably very matted by now. It does however have an iridescent shine in any light so thats nice. Garlude and Jecra once tried to get a brush on him. Incidentally their faces had to get stitches and everyone started calling Meta’s paws “Murder Mittens” afterwards

Sir Falspar : He’s got the thickest fur out of everyone and he grooms it meticulously. Due to all the preening and grooming though its extremely soft. Doesn’t like people brushing it tho- no one but him can mess with his hair or fur. So far he hasn’t wrecked someones face because of it like Meta Knight has tho.

Sir Nonsurant : His fur is kinda short so it doesn’t need as much upkeep as some of the others. its really rough though so not the best for hugging. Doesn’t quite like being brushed but he’ll tolerate it depending on who’s doing it.

Sir Arthur : has the Shortest fur out of the bunch. Also has some of the softest fluff. Only tolerates Morpho and Galacta brushing it. due to how his armor is whenever he takes his helmet off his fur is generally fluffed in every direction.

Sir Dragato : despite how it might look, his fluff is the same length as Metas- he just bothers to actually brush it. Its kinda rough though so not very nice to run fingers/paws through. not as bad as Nonsurant’s though.

I didn’t want to bother with their wings so I just drew them all with their dimensional capes...

"Its okay just a...soft spot" Seth replies "I'm sorry for just walking away"

"Well at least let me buy you a drink" Violet says "Not on the house. On me" she clarifies

"Let me catch up with Hangman and Scarlett and I'll take you up on that" Seth smiled.

Violet smiled warmly and went back inside, Seth took a breath and followed. Austin had somehow migrated to a piano and was singing.

Seth smiled at that, Austin had a rough upbringing and rarely, if ever, felt comfortable enough to sing in public.

"That song is older then he is" Hangman said laughing as he pulled Seth in for a hug.

"He likes it leave him alone" Scarlett, his wife and co-pilot said with a giggle that even Seth found cute, tho he'd never say so out loud lest she take his ass to the mats again.

“Where’s Dragon?” Seth asked about Austin’s boyfriend. “Sleeping, drills kicked his ass today” Scarlett explained.

“What’s this super mission your mama is on about?” Shotzi “Tank” Blackheart asked

“It’s a secret” Seth smiled knowingly. Shotzi huffed.

Seth joined in on singing with Austin.

"Cute" Violet murmurs as Seth continues to sing grabbing Scarlett for a dance only to get smacked in the head by her.

"Oh? Does someone have a crush already?" The other bartender, a beautiful woman named Mandy teased.

“Shut up, it hasn’t been that long since Finn and I separated, hell the divorce is still not finalized and it’s been two months” Violet hissed and wiped down glasses.

“I know what you mean, how’s Rae-Rae handling the change?”

“As good as a nine year old can, she’s excited for two birthdays and two Christmases”

Mandy laughed. “Sound like a normal ten year old” “Right?!”

Austin finished his singing with a tearful smile. “You alright kid?” Seth put an arm around him

“Just wish I had a dad that cared about me y’know?”

“Are you drunk?”

“Little bit”

“Do not speak of that abusive asshole Austin” Ava pointed at him.

“Ava? You have a twin?” Austin giggled. “Yup he’s drunk” Shotzi laughed. Seth clapped his hands. “Get Austin some water and make sure he’s stable”

“And you stop staring at lil miss gothcore over at the bar” Ava smirked knowingly, pointing at Violet counting receipts

"I wasn't..." Seth tried to protest but stopped when Ava and Hangman both crossed their arms and glared at him 

"OK so maybe I was but I don't do relationships you guys know this, not since..." 

The couple's faces fell and both murmured apologies. 

"She wouldn't want you to be alone for the rest of your life" Ava whispered low enough that only Seth and Adam could hear. 

"Well what if I want to be alone?" Seth said shaking his head. 

“One is the loneliest number” Austin sang as quietly as he was able to in his state.

Seth sighed and looked back at Violet who had grabbed a tray of Mikes and placed it down in front of the Top Gun students.

“It’s on the house, I did make Phoenix here pay for the entire bar” Seth laughed at that. “Thanks”

“Seriously though” Violet grabbed a paper from her shirt (Seth barely kept himself from staring lest he pay for a another round for the entire bar) and wrote something.

“My number, if you aren’t doing teaching things I’m always open to talk”

Seth took it with a smile, ignoring Austin’s smirk.

“I love your hair girl!” Ava beamed. Violet touched a strand and smiled. “Thank you! I did it myself!”

"Seriously? That's awesome" Ava grinned. Mandy returned with Seth's card.

"It"s been declined"

Ava blinked "There's no way. Nix is richer then all of us combined. His momma is an Admiral like her father before her"

Seth swallowed at the numbers. "Is this the entire bar...twice?"

Violet hid a smile as Austin began chanting "Overboard!"

"I'll pay you tomorrow" Seth smiled while Hangman and Austin lifted him up. "I'm counting on it Phoenix" She winked

oooh i have a really cool stuffed dragon thats like. kind of this iridescent blue/green...i love her...

What was the best part of your day today?

work today was pretty rainy and cold which wasn't ideal but i got some really good pics of the mountains !! they were super pretty today w the mist <3 and i also got to hang out w my sister while doing dishes and we had a great time. and i got to hold my baby nephew a lot :]

What sounds or scents calm you down?

i really love the smell of lilac bushes in bloom !! i'll do my best to describe it glskdjgsklgh but i'm soo bad at describing smells. but like. its so soothing and sweet but not overpoweringly sweet ?? to me its like eating a favorite treat or being wrapped in a warm blanket. idk. its sooo comforting and i loove the smell. i wish lilacs bloomed for longer than a few weeks tho :(
