I’ma go ahead and say a bunch of my headcanons about not just yorkcali, but the other states n shit because i don’t have any wttt friends and need to talk about them

YORKCALI

Sometimes the meetings really wear New York out, so when they are finally allowed to leave he latches onto California and forces the both of them to take long naps (even if New York struggles to sleep, but he's slowly getting their with California)

Speaking of sleeping, California and New York both struggle to go to bed. Because of the bustling of all of his cities, New York couldn't sit in silence without hearing it in the back of his mind until his brain started to tune it out, so sleeping was difficult. Not only that, but he's always restless and itching to do something- anything- so you can find him up at 3 in the morning, empty and half full coffees and energy drinks stacked around him, working or writing new plays.

The same goes for California, but it isn't as bad. He learned how to tune out his cities a long time ago, so he doesn't really hear it unless he focuses on it. Though he does hear the beach quite frequently. He is always on his feet, looking for things to do to fill his time. Art and work take up a lot of his time, but he still takes naps when he remembers too. (Usually after realizing that he's seen the sun rise for the 14th time.)

They both have a really bad caffeine addiction, so their quite fidgety and active.

California or New York will drag the other out of the house after a while of nonstop work, work, work, and go, go, go. Taking each other to get boba or go see a play/movie. When they get out of the house it's unlikely you'll see them again until 2-3 days later. You'll see them both laughing and smiling as they walk through the front door and to their rooms like they haven't been gone for almost a week.

GHOST TOWNS

So, Cal’s ghost towns or “dead” towns, yeah? Well i headcanon that all of the ghost towns still hang around the states- (idea given to me by this hella cool fic by TourificTiccer) -and that they all look shattered, broken, a little transparent, and like how they looked when they died. They can switch between looking like how they died and how they looked before it. Also do you know that one song? The Mind Electric? (this is the song that i’m talking about. i couldn’t find any other versions of this on other websites besides one animatic on youtube so sorry if you don’t use soundcloud!) I imagine that's how they sound, like an old broken radio. You can also hear mining, trains, and different voices of people that used to live in them coming from them because their bodies are permanently stuck in the past.

Also, I headcanon that California wasn’t really close to his old towns then, really only using them because of the popularity and gold. Back then he didn’t see his towns as his kids, mainly as acquaintances, so because of that those towns were never really apart of his family. He regrets being like how he was with them now, thats why later on in his life he started to take care of his cities and see them as his kids like they see him as their father.

Basically none of the ghost towns are “related” in any way besides that their towns in California. They don’t see California as family or anything really, just a bad person.

The ghost towns aren’t too fond with California because of it and still hold grudges because of how they were treated til this day, but their slowly making amends and trying to fix things, even if they’ll never forgive him and California understands that.

Calico and Brody, two of California’s famous ghost towns, weren’t close until their towns populations started to drop a lot. they took comfort in each other, knowing that they at least had each other when everyone was leaving. Brody was devastated when Calico died and was pissed off at California for not showing enough compassion.

They found each other again after Brody died and haven’t left each other since.

(I couldn’t find a date of when the towns were founded, only years, so i just kept the date the same as today for both of them besides the years. i’ll just say that Brody is 164 and Calico’s 128 (google said mid 1890s so i put 1895 in an age calculator. if someone knows their actual ages that’d be cool to know)

Currently only have headcanons for those two ghost towns, but i’ll work on the other ones including from other states as well.

SAN FRANCISCO & JACKSONVILLE

San Francisco and Jacksonville are best friends and are always getting into trouble. They spend a lot of their time outside at the beach and walking in front of outlet shops, occasionally stealing a thing or two from them. They always run back to California at the end of the day when they’ve gotten their asses in trouble, or just to hang out with him since California gives them a lot of freedom to just do their own things. (Although he does scold them when they do something idiotic, but nothing too harsh.)

Jacksonville gave San Francisco a custom handcrafted surf board for christmas. It’s his favorite surfboard out of all the ones he owns (he likes to collect them and has a good amount from over the years) and he always takes it to the beach with him, with or without Jacksonville.

They both got really high and dyed their hair rainbow. Jacksonville completely dyed all of his hair whilst San Francisco did the bottom layer of his hair, the top later of his hair still light brown with blondish highlights. San Francisco fixed up some of the dye in his hair since it wasn’t the best job done when he got sober while Jacksonville said he didn’t care and just left it as is, even though San Francisco had offered to fix it up for him. (idea from Storytellers_And_States cool fic)

ILLINOIS & WISCONSIN

Illinois and Wisconsin absolutely hate each other, yeah? "We know this already, get to the good bit!" Yadada yadada- hold your horses. Well a long time back when they first started hating each other, it had just been arguing and pettiness, until one day things took a turn and Illinois woke up the next day bruised and sore with hickeys all over his body, a snoring Wisconsin next to him. At first the two tried to ignore it, tried not to think about what they had done, but their minds always circled back to the other, until one day they were arguing again and couldn't keep themselves from doing a "little more" than arguing against an old beaten up wall.

Safe to say they have a "enemies with benefits" type relationship, and each time they only feel more confused afterwards. They can't grasp why they always gravitate towards one another like the pull of a magnetic force. At first they would've said confidently that it was because they wanted to annoy each other, but with how many times they've fucked and how their feelings keep getting more and more confusing, the other almost always on their mind, they aren't so confident anymore that being annoying is why they find themselves in the same vicinity as the other constantly.

GOV & CDC

Gov and Cdc are a nervous wreck of a couple. The two of them being like a puzzle piece unfinished until they are together. When they aren't with the other they feel a little nervous and unsure of themselves at times, always needing that extra push of encouragement or assurance that the other gives when they aren't so sure about something. But when they are together they aren't exactly fully confident, but they are more put together and stronger, feeling comforted and fulfilled when the other is with them. They work better together than on their own at times. Of course they also need their alone time and personal space, but afterwards they are always coming back to one another, wrapping their arms around the other and soothing any worries or troubles.

Cdc knows that Gov has a lot of mental and physical health problems from his unhealthy work habits and from how he was raised, all those years ago. So he always has his arms open, ready to take Gov in and care for him. He's always there to kiss his head and ease him of his worries, telling him time and time again that no matter what he will never leave him, he'll never stop loving him, and that he will always be there for him no matter what.

COAST GUARD

Coast Guard is ambidextrous. He likes to write with his right hand and cook with his left hand. Florida once snuck into his office, saw him writing with his left hand, and almost screamed.

"You can write with both hands too?!"

"How did you get in my office-"

He and Wisconsin are good friends, they like to go out drinking together and often go to each other's homes as soon as their free. When they aren't with each other their texting every so often, Wisconsin sending him funny cat memes and Coast Guard sending Ocean animal memes during meetings or work.

(Thank you to whoever said that Wisconsin and Coast Guard would be friends in my last post, it's canon in my Ben Brainard world now lol)

See... I didn't even say I have a problem with SolarMoon. I literally said "I don't care what y'all ship" At least do not add words in my mouth. I couldn't careless about shipping in this show that's main thing for so long is about family. You and your friends quickly became defensive when I am not even accusing you of incest shipping. The point of my previous message was, Earth said in that ranking video when Lunar immediately placed Solar on the sibling rank "Does he count as sibling? He's, he's a cousin" I GET IT, that they are not bio-related and Earth likes to give a title to people she holds dear, and that she's not making/using a family tree. If Earth sees him as a cousin, what's wrong with that? Why not let her label him as a cousin to her, instead of going "No, no one in the celestial siblings views him as a cousin" when clearly Earth does. She wouldn't give him a familial title if she doesn't see him as that familial title. That's my point and I'm sorry that it wasn't clear in my first message. And I probably missed the video where Earth apologized to Solar for giving him the cousin title and Solar showing discomfort for it. I didn't see that happening in any episodes so far as I am rewatching. All I've watched is Solar saying that "it doesn't roll off the tongue"

If you view them strictly as family, that is Your interpretation and by all means, I won't take that away from you.

But I personally don't view Solar as related. He is still a close family friend and member of the family without being those things.

A. window across the galaxy and adorations are my favorites. i think window’s the best longform piece i’ve ever written (and probably ever will) and i poured so much of myself into it. it was everything i wanted for rocket and it was healing for me, and i love and identify with jo so much. and adorations just makes me happy. ohhh you know what? i also really like ugly sweater and traditions. and machinery from prompt week. and triptych, sunshine, sweatshirt girl, and reconnaissance for beginners. and some of headcanons & imagines. shit.

E. i put a lot of myself in every oc and reader tbh. sweatshirt girl and jo are probably the most transparent self-inserts so far and came from places where they were 100% what i wanted to give rocket + the comfort i needed (sweatshirt girl was very much a reflection on my life at the time). well, and reader from tomorrow, which was 100% my attempt at self-comfort after a bad day at work. i reflected a lot of my real-life experiences through those characters, and i based the way they interact with others almost entirely on how i try to move through the world. i also expect to identify with noa at least as much as jo (oc from other duties as assigned, which might be why it’s so hard to write it). and honestly? i identify with rocket a lot. he wears his pain differently than i do but we both have skeletons that are not doing what we want them to do, chronic pain, and buckets of survivor’s guilt. plus i headcanon rocket has a sequencing disorder like me (ꈍᴗꈍ) i allude to it a lot in cicatrix and certain headcanons (like the sudoku one!) and some other things and i'm trying to write a fanfic about it lol

F. the only fic i have a mental playlist for is the very boring adventures of space pilot & sweatshirt girl, and it’s mostly chillhop essentials winter 2019 and aviino’s plush and cocoon albums but the thing is it HAS to be on vinyl because that’s the whole sweatshirt girl vibe

H. my writing style is chaotic, exists entirely outside the bounds of space & time (mostly because of the sequencing disorder) and is more about feeling than making sense. my word choice is self-indulgent and erratic and based more on what tastes right to me than anything else. emotions are way easier to write than plot. (huh. maybe that’s the sequencing disorder too.)

K. do i have any guilty pleasures in fic-writing or -reading?? girl i write raccoon porn. it would all be a guilty pleasure if i believed in guilty pleasures. but i don’t. i try really hard not to feel guilt about any of my pleasures. life is short. capitalism sucks. write about raccoon dick

L. it’s hard to say which piece of fanfiction was the most emotionally challenging for me to write because i think writing is actually a way of organizing and processing emotions for me. if anything, writing emotional scenes feels cathartic — a relief. but finishing things always feels risky. endings rarely satisfy people. so the more people like a piece of mind (blackmail material, window, windfall), the harder it is to end. it's more about trying to manage imposter syndrome than anything else i guess

R. markus zusak has been one of the most influential writers for me. i love that every character in his books has their own story, their own value and journey, independent of the main narrative. jonathan safran foer writes the sentences i want to write. the read like a gut-punch. (he gets quoted a lot in other duties.) both of these writers would probably be horrified by this because im fairly certain they do not write smut, especially not featuring raccoons

X. how do i characterize my fanfic reading? it really depends on what is going on in life. we all have to ration our time and i hate having to choose between reading and writing and drawing, but here we are. if it’s a fic by an author i like, i prioritize it. it can be really hard for me to read things that are released chapter-by-chapter over an extended period, so i am more apt to read things that are short-run or that are close to being finished. but i especially like to support writers i know — which is why i always ask folks to add me if they have a taglist ♡

I admit as a transfem-ish nb person myself I really enjoy projecting myself onto Steve but I mostly have to restrict myself to enjoying art and my friends creations because so much of it is like. the extreme of the baby girl twink bottom boy waif steve fetishization trend to eddies bad boy s&m gay sex master. it's like people can't acknowledge that mlm in the 80s could be gnc and not transfem, and that steve could retain his personality and not be a blushing virginal archetype the minute he puts on some makeup

FANDOM: Reservoir Dogs

GENRE: Requested headcanons, slight hurt-comfort, romantic relationship, and gender neutral s/o!

SYNOPSIS: Freddy Newandyke/Mr. Orange is more than willing to help his lover who has insomnia!

TRIGGER WARNINGS: Hurt-comfort slightly, physical discomfort, anxiety, and swearing!

Freddy is in between in terms of his sleeping patterns. He’s not a light sleeper but he’s also not necessarily a deep one either. He’s in the happy middle, if that makes any sense. He can have his bad nights, of course, however he usually sleeps pretty well.

You do suffer quite badly from your insomnia, which you keep a secret from him because you don’t want to worry him or be judged. And while you understand that those fears are irrational--Freddy loves you to death no matter what--you can’t help but be hesitant. So you don’t say anything right off the bat. 

Being a cop, Orange has some idea of how to read body language, especially after being in the Reservoir Dogs for so long. He doesn’t like to do it to you being that you are his lover and he respects you. After awhile though, he starts to notice your sleeplessness getting out of hand. Your face says it all, the consistent exhausted expressions, half lidded tired eyes, sudden bursts and declines of energy, moodiness, and an almost lethargic state you’re stuck in. And it does alarm him, he doesn’t understand what’s happening to you.

Pink has been explicit in regards to his insomnia with the other Dogs, particularly Orange and Brown as they are his best friends after all. When Freddy begins to piece together that you’re struggling, he goes straight to Pink for consultation. He questions him about all the symptoms and effects that insomnia has on a person, and is shocked to hear how exactly yours match. That’s when it hits him, making him kick himself for being so clueless. Of course you’re dealing with insomnia, it makes so much sense to him in retrospect.

When he gets home, he confronts you about it albeit rather suddenly. He isn’t harsh nor angry with you, he’s just worried. And you cave finally, telling him everything about your sleeping issues. Freddy listens, cradling you against his chest. A cigarette hangs between his teeth, as he smokes to ease his nerves. 

“ Oh my god, baby. I had no fucking idea, why didn’t you say anything? You know that I only want to help you out.” you nod, apologizing to him for your lack of transparency. He shrugs it off, giving you that boyish grin.

“ Hey, it’s okay. I’m just glad you didn’t bottle it up any further. But we got ourselves some things to figure out now, huh?” 

You both do have some ideas as to how to help your insomnia, and you try them all. You don’t watch any TV an hour or two before bed, hot baths and showers with Freddy ease your muscles and relax you, incense is great aromatherapy ( I SWEAR BY IT ), reading books are good too, and of course, cuddles make everything better! While these routines don’t solve all of your problems completely, they do help you to sleep without as much difficulty. 

Freddy is so generous and calm with the entire situation, he just loves you so much and only wants the best for you. And whatever he can do for you, he is on top of it, and he is there.

This one hits home for me, my husband has dealt with this and honestly my headcanons feel like I reflect off how he reacted to the first time it happened with us.

Erza

~She's a loud person in general, and she wasn't any better when she argued. She had pointed a certain direction and as she whipped her hand that way their S/O flinched.

~Her eyes widen, all anger in her chest dissipated as she realized the situation at hand. She's heard the horror stories of their past, and it hurt her that her S/O may think that she'd do anything to hurt them.

~"Wait, I wouldn't do anything like that to you!" Erza would say, the conversation turning to acknowledge the reaction they had. Their S/O would have to explain that it's a natural reaction, that it isn't something they can control.

~Erza has a hard time understanding it. It's a normal reaction from many people around the guild to have due to her many brawls between other guildmates. Everyone always comes at her for being excessive, so it was hard to hear it wasn't her fault.

~She'll ignore the argument, instead wanting to work on their S/O. It isn't something that one conversation will fix, and even if it takes Erza a while to realize this, she'll never put any blame on their S/O.

~Erza avoids arguments after that, she doesn't like seeing their S/O react that way at them and it takes time for the two of them to work through it.

~Erza's no quitter though, so she'll understand and work with them to move past the trauma that caused them to react so skittish during confrontation!

Mirajane

~She was surprised to see her S/O curl in on themselves when she had threw her hands up in exasperation. It was their first real argument and so she never realized how deep rooted their trauma was.

~She's well aware of their past trauma, and though that reaction was upsetting, she's understanding and handles the situation delicatly. She'll soften her tone and keep any movements slow and obvious.

~She'll also ignore the argument to focus on this, but it's to get them to open up about things and to talk out the feelings they felt when she had raised her arms. She'll touch back onto their argument later, but in all honesty it's the best option since the two of them will be more levelheaded about it.

My other headcanon is that Byakuya would most def be misogynistic and have some type of misogyny kink. Even if you did come from a wealthy family he'd still have some sort of superiority complex. He probably has some sort of corruption kink too in my opinion.

He would be really irritated at himself for having, you know, emotional developments towards a person, ever. Consequently, he's just kind of a dick to darling. That kind of snobbishness where he's just constantly acting like you're a nuisance, signing and acting disgusted by you, but the moment you turn to go away he just internally is like "wait where are you going why are you leaving?? All I did was bully you what's your problem"

Eventually, it ends up being a perilous situation or something that draws out the reality that he DOES care, although he brushes it off as no big deal. Also, so much money is involved. Initially he presents it, again, as a burden -- no way are you going to be associated with HIM wearing those clothes, using that phone, driving that car. In reality, he does like seeing how flustered you get, and he gets a swell of pride from feeling like you're dependent on him. He likes it when you're flustered and awed by his wealth, when you're impressed, and so forth. Think Xingqiu but like, a meaner version lol

And yesssss he definitely does have the whole provider dad + mommy trophy wife model to follow, you know his mom is probably a really good lil wife that does whatever she's told and doesn't ever talk back or defy... And he would expect the same. Definitely gets irritated by a gf that has the audacity to demand anything.

Nagito is... An interesting case. He's one of my favorite characters, there's multiple ways to kinda interpret his personality... Obviously me being the person I am when I played the game I kinda took a much worse interpretation than I think most people did lol, it always struck me as the whole extreme degradation/humility thing being... Kind of fake/almost mocking sometimes. More of a self-delusion or even in and of itself a form of thinly veiled narcissism, if that makes sense? Like, a lot of people act very humble because it constructs their self-serving self-perception of them being a good person or trying to appear humble to counteract their internal superiority complex, which was kinda the vibes I got from the boy, especially since he has those moments where he kinda snaps out of that personality and suddenly becomes super demanding/arrogant. Idk throughout the game I thought he was an asshole lmao. But I like that, of course.

If darling doesn't have a talent he would literally be unbearably obnoxious. The thing about him is that he's surprisingly transparent and just says what he thinks out loud so prepare to be offended pretty frequently. He doesn't pull his punches either. If darling does have a talent, though, I actually feel like whole he would be the worshipping type, he'd try to find little ways to kind of one-up darling, if for no other reason than to make himself feel better, all while spewing his self-depricating bullshit.

Also Nagito is a massive stalker type. Like, disgustingly so. Wall covered in polaroids taken from hiding spots, steals clothes, comes into your room to lay on your bed when you're not there, comes into your room while you sleep to jerk off next to you. Steals things water bottles you throw away and refills them to drink from, because it had your mouth on it. Jerks off while on the phone with you. I get the vibe that he's got a very wide range of sexual preferences, the type of person that can get off to like nearly anything as long as it involves you... But including that very unexpected and quiet sort of sadism going on, like the type that just kinda... Silently enjoys seeing you hurt even in non sexual contexts. And he feels bad about it. • As much as he wants to, flowery words of adoration is just not something that drops easily from the tip of his tongue. No amount of practice in front of the mirror could ever prepare him when the time finally calls for it.

• There's a lot of thought behind such predicament. One being that it might make you uncomfortable, two being that it might come across as him faking it because it was a little out of the norm.

• Gaara was rather accepting of this already. There are certain types of people whose verbal suave just couldn't compete. If anything, the lacking in this aspect didn't have to spell the end of the world for him; he just needs to find another way of expressing his love and gratitude for you on your special day. A way that doesn't compromise its appeal as being genuine.

• Thinking upon thinking had Gaara concluding that a personal gift, a flower, a handwritten letter, and a short- humble attempt at being verbally expressive as he hands out his gift to you was the balanced goal to suffice his concerns.

• At the very first birthdays into your budding relationship, he'd be running his options through with his siblings. This was a new concept to him afterall, and he didn't want to fail you. You could only imagine the heated argument between Temari and Kankuro, sandwiching a very confused Gaara in the middle of it all.

• Temari: "Dude, are you kidding me? That's not even romantic at all. We're talking about Gaara's ROMANTIC partner, not a goth adult male barely scraping by as he asks for gift on Christmas."

• Kankuro: "No, are YOU kidding me? You know damn well Y/N would be jumping out of joy if you two follow my advice."

• Temari: "Stop self-projecting and ask for that gift for yourself on your birthday!"

• Gaara: "Guys... please..."

• Years into it though, Gaara would've at least be confident in making the decision himself.

• A personalized gift that caters to your interest, often practical; your favorite flower, and another of it that has a symbolic message behind it that he would love for you to figure out on your own; a handwritten letter almost too formal, yet in his very own way, romantic at its best; and the bashful smile as he tries say happy birthday to you while he hands out the rest of his gift.

• Gaara would always ask you where and how would you like to celebrate a week beforehand. He would have an idea what you might want, but Gaara would always want to ask for your permission first. It's not that he wasn't confident in his decisions, it's just that he has to be sure that your day is something you truly want and genuinely enjoy.

• Feeling adventurous to try the newest restaurant in town? Got it. One of his subordinates are already on the call to secure an appointment. He would check the menu if he has the time so he could brief both you and himself about what kind of entreé you two might find yourselves with.

• Being the Kazekage is expectedly something that is very demanding of his attention, so his assistant would have to help him out in figuring out things- like if there is a secure, VIP area or anything that a restaurant could do if they could decorate the chosen area with themes of birthday celebration.

• He would honestly prefer to celebrate it in a humble, common space of the restaurant; but the evening would be less peaceful for the two of you. It also doesn't help that his standing in the village poses a risk on your safety as well. Publicity and transparency on personal matters isn't always the brightest idea for a high-ranking official like him, as providing the people the feeling of being informed regarding his private whereabouts sometimes allows them to form a sense of entitlement towards further inquiries. The last thing he wanted to deal with was for his partner's birthday to become something so publicly available for unnecessary scrutiny and controversy. Gaara would really just want his beloved to have the great day they deserve.

• However, if you choose to celebrate your day at the comfort of your home, he would be just as ecstatic. Honestly, he'd be a tad bit more excited. There's just something about being with you in the safe, comforting vulnerability of your home that could never be toppled by even the most luxurious of places that a high profile official like him already knows too well. He's a modest man by nature.

• If you could only see him trying to contain the barely visible outwards projection of his ironically, almost panicking internal excitement at the thought of celebrating at home with you- you'd find yourself giggling.

• However, if the night is just way too busy to get out of; he would ask you if you would want to celebrate with him in his office. Gaara is honestly too embarrassed to ask such- as he should be coming home to you, not the other way around. He'd apologize first before asking you about it. Gaara would clean up first and at least make his office much more presentable.

• It's honestly not so bad. The place and the manner of celebrating might be a big influence, but each other's companionship really did matter the most afterall. The decision to compromise also tattletales the depth that has been reached in the relationship. The acceptance and the support, the effort to meet on a middle ground.

• Rest assured that no matter how and where the two of you choose to celebrate, Gaara would always strive to make you sure you feel extra adored and cared for on your special day.

This might be strange considering how upbeat yall are about the fandoms for your games in general, but is there any particular trope or ship you WOULDN'T want us writing/drawing/etc. in relation to your stuff? (IE, any canon you don't want us 'overwriting' or something like that?)

Of course we would want the fan content people make to not be racist, sexist, homophobic, bigoted, harmful, etc. But in terms of generally doing non-canon pairings or adding in headcanons or stuff, we really don’t mind that. People are welcome to have fun and explore their own ideas.

for the 1.2 Android update was it meant to download as a  separate app? I really want to keep my previous save files but they don't show up (also thank u for the updates I'm really excited to get back into the game!!)

We had to change the name of the file and unfortunately for some phones that meant it’s treated as a brand new game. I’m sorry your saves didn’t transfer over to the new version. You can try to look up your specific phone and see if there’s a way to access save files for games on your device and then transfer those saves over to the new build manually. It may or may not be possible.

I'm having some trouble figuring out how to get the update from Itichio without losing my save files? Is it the same game or a folder I can put in the properties? Sorry if this question is not worded well or if this isn't the avenue you'd want to take technical questions on

Hey. I really loved playing our life. It was a fun experience and I never thought I would like it this much. I do have a question, I am currently replaying the game and I am choosing choices I never chose at first. In step 2 during the road trip arc, I decided to ask Cove about what he liked to see on people. One of his response was anklets and black eyes. My MC have just happens to have black eyes. Do Cove say black eyes cuz my mc have it or it was just a coincidently programmed into the game?

He uses your eye color intentionally! If you changed your eye color he’d change what he said.

Will step 4 have 10 moments like steps 1-3? 

Step 4 is only an epilogue. It plays like the openings/endings of the earlier Steps where it’s a bunch of scenes all in a row, there aren’t any individual Moments.

In the new ol, there are two main love interests... Would it be possible to pair them together or is that weird? 

You can’t stay single and pair them together. If we are going to add all the extra content to have a route where the two LIs get together, it’d be a full poly route where them and the MC were all dating. And that’s not a for sure option yet because it’d add a lot of extra complications. But either way, in OL the relationships all gotta be about the MC, haha.

In OL2, there will be extra LIs in form of DLCs? Like Dexter and Baxter.

Since Cove will have 2 diff body types in s4, will the storyline and dialogs reflect this? Or all of it will be the same? Btw love the game and sorry for bad english. Hope this doesn't sound rude 😅 

Some descriptions and pieces of dialog will change, but it won’t impact the story really. And you don’t need to apologize! It’s all good.

Will you ever release the transparent sprites of the Our Life characters? 

Probably not, I’m afraid. They’ve got a lot of pieces and it’d just be kind of hard to deal with, aha.

Something I was curious about, what was your inspiration for making a game with so much customization?

Initially, the idea was just about having a romance where you actually grew up with the LI. But it was pretty stressful to try deciding how fast the relationship would progress with it taking place over such a long period of time and with no real storyline carrying it. People might not wanna play a game where the characters don’t get along as kids, but other people might not bother with a game where kids immediately liked each other. So the obvious answer came, just let the player pick themselves how it goes. From there we simply continued to add more flexibly with the MC due to the same thought process of wanting to make sure people were onboard with how their life was going.

What made you decide to change the artstyle for ol 2 so much? I of course respect all your decisions and will buy the shit out of everything related to ol 2, but i love the original style and i m honestly not a fan of the styles shown on patreon, despite me liking the painterly style in general. (I don t mind the style being changed, just that the examples shown so far all feel like there s something wrong with them.) 

We’ve always used different art styles for each of our projects. They all have distinct looks from each other. It’s just nice to do something new. I’m glad you really like how the first game looks, though. And those samples were only general concepts, rather than the exact options being decided between. We wanted to see reactions to different options. The art style we’re going with won’t be exactly like those, though I personally like all of them. I think players are gonna enjoy the style Our Life: Now & Forever when it’s revealed.

Hey! Is it ok to ask what gender ourlife2 protagonist will be and if we'll be given the same opportunity to customize an MC? Totally understand if you're keeping this under wraps for now if u don't wanna say! 

OL2 will have the same type of MC customization as OL1, but even more refined! So their gender will be up to you.

Do you have plans of making more games similar to Our Life, with customizable player character? Direct is blunter and more teasing, relaxed is lighthearted and goes with the flow.

Not in Step 3, but you can in Step 4.

Step 4 will have the Cove Wedding DLC and the Derek and Baxter romance DLCs each add a lot of new content to Step 4, though they’re also partially set in Step 2 and Step 3 respectively. The NSFW DLC happens in Cove’s room.

I keep wondering what would've happened if Mr. Holden met Lizzie first instead of the MC. I can't see that turning out well somehow lol. 

It wouldn’t have made a difference. He met the MC’s parents first and they told him about their two kids. He wanted the MC specifically to be Cove’s friend because the two were the same age.

Even though we have a way to go I'm really excited for OL 2! I was curious though, is the next main character going to be adopted again? I thought it was really clever to make the first main character adopted so when players are customizing,  they can make them look how ever they like without worrying about pesky genetics. Just wondering! 

The OL2 MC is not adopted. We wanted to go for a new dynamic. Instead their parents are their biological single mother who is partially customizable and an off-screen sperm donor father. So the mom will look generally like the MC and any other traits not from her can be assumed to come from whoever the father was.

There's been so much negativity online lately so feel free to use as an excuse to gush about your mutuals and anything they do. Whether it be art, writing, crafts, being a little cutie, making you laugh, making ocs that you love so much you basically adopt them, making a hella good grilled cheese, anything really. I've been sending this to a handful people and it's been so nice reading all the things people have to say. Btw feel free to ignore this if you don't wanna do it but at the same, if you want to you could send this to someone else and spread it more, you could do that too. The possibilities are endless.

As a little starter/something I've wanted to say for quite a while now: I really really love Artekai. He's somehow a sweetheart and a little shit at the same time and I just deeply resonate with this weirdly wholesome yet chaotic energy he gives off. He's incredible. 10/10. Would give a big old hug and smooch on the cheek.

Kai's very transparent about his emotions, whether positive or negative, and he also does have kind of a big ego, but he's determined to use it for good, so that's certainly one of the combinations of all time, haha! He's one of those OCs that basically develop themselves, and I'm very proud of him :') Kai would definitely appreciate your hug and smooch a lot. not a headcanon ask: what's your opinion on marlon? i know a lot of the fandom sees him as irredeemable and some think he outright deserved his death (which i think is a bit, uh. much.) but i was wondering what you thought about him? i personally felt kinda bad for him and the situation he got fucked over in.

I can completely see why other people don’t like Marlon, but I’m in the same boar as you. I felt bad for him as a flawed character. To me, he seemed like a “tragic hero” if we’re gonna talk in academic terms haha

I essentially say Marlon as a kid thrust into a role of responsibility way too young, and while he was in the midst of trying to get a grasp on his anger issues (that is the reason he was at Ericson in the first place). All of a sudden, all of this pressure was placed on his shoulders. He not only needed to lead these kids, he needed to keep them alive. He needed to feed them, get them shelter, protect them, arm them with weapons, and all without any guidance or support. The Ericson kids were pretty transparent in-game about how most staff members and teachers pretty much abandoned the place the second society collapsed. (more analysis under the read more I don’t wanna hog your feeds haha)

I think he felt the pressure and started losing it. He got desperate when Delta rolled in and desperately made exchanges he didn’t want to make, but felt like he needed to. And when everything started spiraling and blowing up in his face, his anger issues came back at full force. He lied, and tried to save himself, and tried desperately to make himself not look like a bad guy, when he never was. He was just flawed, and needed support to help him get over his issues. But when the going got tough, all the people meant to save them, left them.

One of the reasons I adore TWDG is the way it provides commentary about how our society has damaged people. To a point that, when society is completely removed, have we cultivated a successful enough society for our people to sustain themselves? The answer, in large part, is no. We haven’t created a society that aimed to help any of those Ericson kids. They were essentially sent to the school for punishment, not for rehabilitation, and when left to their own devices, it just goes to show how dangerous not receiving proper support can be.

Much like any kind of real trauma/incident, I understand why people hate/don’t want to forgive Marlon as a character. But to me, I’ve always seen him as a kid failed by the world and system who was trying to do his best, but succumbed to the issues he deserved to receive supports for.
