Instagram Intros (Josh & Emma's Kids)

Noah Mitchell Chasez (@noahchasezzz)
DOB: October 27th 1998 Age: 27 years old Hometown: Glencoe, Illinois Nicknames: Noey S/O: Sarah Kreitzer Kids: Gregory Best Friend(s): Gregory Nunez and Lana Tejada Aesthetic: Noah is a lot like his father. Both are very kind and charming, and also pretty shy growing up. He preferred staying at his parent's side, especially during tours. He loved seeing what his father did for a living and loved getting the walk through of backstage and adored copying the dances in the curtain. He was always welcome at the studio and running around with Joey and Lance's boys, Jackson and Carter. His arrival was anticipated every day after daycare. Noah would sit in his father's lap during the recording process and it amazed everyone else, Josh's multitasking skills. Noah could never not make his parents proud. He loved singing, just like his dad and often wrote songs with JC, his first being a 30 second song called Mom Made Spaghetti, a hit with his dad's friends. Josh would indulge in his son's aspirations and record these songs to put on a burnt CD for him to hand out to his parent's friends and family. Noah and Josh were very close in his early years. His son helped Josh mature and get himself out there as a man. He found himself being much more a father figure to others as well, being more family oriented and serious about his work. Noah learned how to play piano with the help of his dad when he was four, and Emma oftentimes found her boys sitting at their grand piano late at night when one or the other couldn't sleep. Music was a constant in the Chasez household. When Noah was fifteen is when he started gaining traction online for his music and blew up with what seemed overnight. A gen-z icon to many.

Jeremy Kingston Chasez (@jeremykings000)
DOB: July 24th 2000 Age: 25 years old Hometown: Glencoe, Illinois Nicknames: Jay, Jere S/O: Audrey Hagan Kids: None Best Friend(s): Marie Nichols Aesthetic: Jeremy is a lot more like his mother compared to his older brother. He is a lot more go with the flow than Noah and Josh, and that's okay. There was constant mayhem when Emma had time off of work and she was left alone with her baby boy. Many times, Josh would come home from the studio and the house was a mess and there in the middle of it was his young son and hyper wife. They were always doing something together. Whether that be cooking, painting, messing around on the piano or guitar, or just bouncing their legs on the couch watching a movie. Whatever it was, there was always movement with those two. Honestly, it was something Josh admired so much from his wife. It gave a healthy balance between the two of them, Josh bringing the calm to their family and Emma bringing the spontaneous, chaotic side. When Andrew Chasez was born, Emma quit her job in order to stay home and take care of the little Chasez boys full time. She had chilled a bit by that time, struggling to keep all her rowdy boys in tow. Jeremy could never have enough though. He would be outside by the lake skipping stones until his dad came to carry him to the dinner table. Jere just had a hard time keeping still and letting himself be bored. Each family member took time out of their day to tend to Jeremy's hyper needs. Emma would colour with him in the mornings, Noah would play hot wheels with him before dinner, and Josh would get him settled for bed with a story while his wife fed their youngest son in bed. It was difficult to manage at some moments, but Emma and Josh wouldn't trade their chaos for all the peace in the world. Besides, once his little sister, Sophia, was born, he had a new friend with similar hyperactive tendencies. That's when Emma and Josh questioned their thoughts on starting a family (jokes!). Double trouble those two were.

Andrew Joel Chasez (@andyjchasez)
DOB: February 11th 2003 Age: 22 years old Hometown: Glencoe, Illinois Nicknames: Andy, Drew, AJ S/O: Lola Kirkpatrick Kids: None Best Friend(s): Cooper Bass, Dalton Fatone, and William Little Aesthetic: Andrew Chasez was born when his parents were quite stressed with life. They now had 3 boys under the age 5 and Josh was trying to kick start his solo career after a gruelling long tour away from his family. Andy always brought light into their lives though. He was a very smiley baby and would giggle at nothing. It was sort of a joke that he could see ghosts, until he got older and gained some good old imaginary friends, then it became creepy. Now, because his dad was always at the studio growing up and his mom had her hands full with three young boys, he spent a lot of time at his Aunt Melissa's house in the city. He was very close with Lola, and was always catching his mom watching them through the window. He didn't think too much of it. Andrew loved travelling with his family and really enjoyed sightseeing with his dad specifically. They would always run off together and go look for boats on the water of wherever they were staying. That was fun for Josh. His son was obsessed with boats and sailing. His wife, Emma, was absolutely terrified of the sea and would never go out on the water, passing down this phobia to her two oldest sons. Andrew and Josh would go down to the lake in the early morning to go sail paper boats together and it was their favourite memories together. Then they would walk up the path to Emma sitting on their back porch, reading a book, sipping her coffee, and two breakfast plates on the table waiting for them. Even now, with Andrew being 22 years old, he stills gets his dad up early when he visits home to go and sit by the water together. They don't even have to talk, sometimes sitting in silence was better than words. He is also known for taking his younger siblings on trips with him, give his parents a break. Quinn and Cole are obsessed with him because of his sporadic vacations.

Sophia Tess Chasez (@sophietxoxo)
DOB: December 19th 2005 Age: 20 years old Hometown: Glencoe, Illinois Nicknames: Soph, Sophie S/O: Ashton Ross Kids: None Best Friend(s): Maribel Holden and Delaney Lynch Aesthetic: The sociable girl she was. Sophia could not stop talking for the life of her. Even as a baby she would babble herself to sleep. In kindergarten she was always told off for not paying attention in class and yapping with her friends in the back. Those friends are her life-long friends, Maribel and Delaney. The three of them were inseparable. Not only did Josh and Emma have their hands full with their own children, but now two adoptive little girls who live down the road. Each weekend they were rotate who's house was the sleepover host, but by the time they reached middle school and home lives got tougher and in the way, Sophia's home seemed like a good go-to. It wasn't uncommon for either parent to have to stop the noise and giddiness coming from their daughter's room in order for anyone in the house to get some sleep. When Maribel and Delaney weren't at the house, Sophie was hanging out with her older brother, Jeremy. They both offset each other's excitable personalities. Soph and Jere were always getting into some mischief together and were each other's partners in crime. Nonetheless, Sophia was a very likeable soul and people flocked towards her openness and kindness. She made friends extremely quickly (though Mari and Laney were her closest) and teachers loved her. She was always willing to help out and was an overachiever like her mother. In high school she was captain of the girl's volleyball team and soccer team, student council president, number one honour roll student, and later her class' valedictorian. Her uncles were there to cheer her on at every single one of her events and would even take her and her siblings out for ice cream so her parent's could have a little "alone time". Speaking of her siblings, she was the best older sister in the world (shocker with her past, I know). She loved her younger brother Ryan especially. He looked up to her for everything and she loved playing baby with him when he was first born. He just naturally took a liking to her and it was adorable to her. She loved showing off Ryan and Maddie at school events when they were just tiny babies in her mother's arms. Sophia was a very proud older sister, still is.

Ryan Samuel Chasez (@ryamuelzz)
DOB: January 6th 2010 Age: 15 years old Hometown: Glencoe, Illinois Nicknames: Ry S/O: No One Kids: None Best Friend(s): Braedon Howell and Dominik Newman Aesthetic: The funniest kid you'll ever have the pleasure of meeting. He has such a strange sense of humour and it'll only make sense to a small fraction of people, lucky for him that includes his family. It's not too sure if he has stories or just a funny way of displaying them, either way he is very entertaining while talking. His parents used to laugh at his overuse of hand gestures during conversations, and it hasn't stopped since. Ryan is also the biggest picky eater too. Even at 15, he has yet to truly expand his palette away from just pasta and peanut butter sandwiches. It may be a comfort thing, but it has always made dinner easier on Emma so she doesn't mind too much. His funny way to life was almost used as a cover up for Ryan though. He was pretty insecure for majority of his life and needed away to make himself appeal to others. Now, Ryan Chasez is not a bad looking kid, in fact many would say that he was blessed by his parents with his appearance. He just didn't see it this way. He had surrounded himself with the cool kids like Braedon Howell and Dom Newman in middle school and now feels the need to give himself a purpose in this group. Josh had noticed a shift in his son around 7th grade and wanted to check up on him, but Ryan wasn't having it. He just simply wasn't the kind to open up about his feelings the same way his father had gotten his older brother Andrew to open up. Ryan would just laugh the worry off and make it seem like nothing. Sophia was the only one who could get a crack on the kid. She had this motherly way to her, so that when she would talk to her baby brother, he just let the flood gates to his brain go loose. Josh was never more grateful for his happy-go lucky daughter in his life. He was so sappy watching his little girl help her brother out in a way that he knew needed to happen for a long time. Ryan's parents were forever proud of their kids and how fortunate they were to raise such good people.

Madeleine Jordan Chasez (@maddieeinthea.m)
DOB: January 6th 2010 Age: 15 years old Hometown: Glencoe, Illinois Nicknames: Maddie, Mads S/O: Emery Mullen Kids: None Best Friend(s): Sydney French Aesthetic: Daddy's girl alert!!! Madeleine was attached to her dad by the hip the minute she came into this world. She adored everything her father did. He loved having a little girl who was as obsessed with as he was her. It didn't help that baby Maddie was Emma's carbon copy. She had the biggest brown eyes and a sweet smile that made her parent's swoon. Madeleine was very popular for her gorgeous looks from a young age. People started to take note that she was just the most beautiful child in the world. So many would stop her mom or dad on the street just to compliment them on having such a stunning daughter. Boy did that boost her confidence up to 100%. Of course, she heard it all the time from her parents and nana and papa, but it was different when it was strangers. Maddie somehow managed to convince her dad to let her do state pageants when she was in 2nd grade, and she would always make it pretty far in the race. Her mom was there to make sure everything was going smoothly while her dad sat in the audience with her siblings. It came as a shock to Josh and Emma when they found themselves being pageant parents, but how could they say no to their little girl, their last daughter. When she was 9 she was scouted by a modelling agency who was looking for younger models they could train. Her mom and dad were against it, and wanted her to wait until she was older and could grasp the responsibility a bit better. Madeleine was infuriated by this decision. She didn't talk to her parents for two weeks after that confrontation. When she was 14, she was scouted once again and was finally given the option to agree or not. She with a doubt signed those papers in a heartbeat (not without mom and dad reading over them first). She especially looked up to her brother's girlfriend, Lola, for advice in modelling. They became the best of friends and Lily helped her throughout her journey and put some words in for her to land bigger gigs. Maddie is pretty famous now on her own, and everyone is anticipating for when she's old enough to do some major things in the fashion industry.

Quentin Peter Chasez
DOB: May 14th 2017 Age: 8 years old Hometown: Glencoe, Illinois Nicknames: Quinn, Q, Quinny S/O: No One Kids: None Best Friend(s): Hayden Kirkpatrick Aesthetic: Another easy-loving baby. Quentin never cried, never got angry, and instead chose to just sit and stare into space. He is very kind and thoughtful, known to share everything. Quinn is best known in his house to feed everyone before himself. No one knows where he got this from, maybe watching his mom dish up dinner for everyone before herself, but it's an interesting thing to watch play out. The only time you could catch Quinny cry was if he couldn't say goodnight and love you to his family members before bedtime. Another weird ritual he has, and this includes the Chasez' dog and cat, Marlo and Kitty, and each and every one of his stuffed animals. Sometimes goes as far as making his parents call up his grandparents to say love you night. Him and his twin brother are polar opposites actually. It's the cutest thing, because even as babies they would bicker back and forth. As babies, they were not yet planned and were raised very carefree. His mom and dad had gone through this time and time before and knew what to expect and knew not to overreact to little things in their babies lives. He and Cole definitely got the softer side of their parents which was nice.

Cole Gabriel Chasez
DOB: May 14th 2017 Age: 8 years old Hometown: Glencoe, Illinois Nicknames: C, Cece, Coley, Coleslaw S/O: No One Kids: None Best Friend(s): Hayden Kirkpatrick Aesthetic: The youngest and final Chasez was, surprise surprise, hyper as hell. Like previously mentioned, he and Quinn are complete opposites. We have Quinn who prefers to stay quiet and empathetic, and than we have Cole who is much more rowdy and upbeat. Cole practically lives at the playground down the street, where he meets up with his just as energetic friend, Hayden Kirkpatrick. Josh and Chris have recently found themselves setting up playdates every afternoon after school to let their boys get their jitters out before it's time to pack up and go home. Cole is still a very good kid, just has trouble finding an equal balance. There's not much else to say about Cole Chasez.

[REVIEW FOR DEADPOOL & WOLVERINE, SPOILER ALERT FOR THE CAMEOS BUT NOT THE PLOT]

Okay, I wanna start this out by saying that I am NEITHER a professional movie critic NOR a huge movie geek NOR a comic book geek. I'm just someone with some thoughts about a movie I enjoyed recently and wish to share. My opinion doesn't reflect the general consensus and y'all can agree or disagree all you want, just be nice about it, please🥲
I've anticipated this movie for a long time as a casual Deadpool fan. When Disney acquired the rights to the character, I, like many, was worried that Mr. Bob was gonna try to family-friendly-ify Deadpool. There was also the fact that the quality of many Marvel projects since Endgame has gone downhill, which made me stop keeping up with them for a while. But Ryan Reynolds is passionate about Deadpool, he said it himself (I believe), and I quite enjoyed the first 2 movies despite not having seen them in a while. So I, with a couple of friends, walked into the cinema last Monday with a pretty high expectation. And oh boy did I come out feeling so goddamn high.
First of all, the CHARACTERS. The man of the hour, Deadpool, still has all of his charms. The jokes, narration, fourth-wall breaking, violence, dirty-ass innuendos, etc. are all very much still present. His growth from the previous movies carried on in this showing. Of course, he's still your good ol' merc with a mouth but now rather than acting out for selfish reasons, he always puts his found family and friends first, even if it means stop being Deadpool or losing them and never seeing them again (this growth might have been present already in Deadpool 2 but hey, like I've said, it's been a while). Another thing I'm utmost joyful about his characteristic this time around is that Deadpool is finally fruitier🤭. For those who don't know, Deadpool is canonically pansexual (don't believe me, look up the Deadpool/spiderman 2016 comic run, the girlies in dying of a new otp; you'll thank me later). And seeing such a big part of his character unapologetically being represented on a big screen is truly fulfilling. Ryan really pulled off one heck of a performance here and it really shows his passion and dedication for the character.
Next up is Wolverine. I've got to be honest with y'all: I wasn't a big Wolverine or X-men fan, not for any particular reason besides many fans and critics alike weren't too fond of the live-action movies. So I've passed out on the X-men franchise, even the highly-regarded Logan from 2017. This movie is actually my first introduction to Hugh Jackman as Wolverine and I must say, he REALLY did the damn thing. The gestures, his accent, the aggressiveness, they told me exactly who this character is. And I really was just blown away by Hugh's performance. I've only seen him through The Greatest Showman and some interviews, he seems like a pretty nice guy. So, to see him pull off the whole aggressive act and do it so well and flawlessly, I was speechless. I also love the redemption arc the writers gave to 'The Worst Wolverine'; it might not have been as epic as Logan from what I've heard, but it was solid.
The plot, what is there to say about it except EVERYTHING. Ryan Reynolds really gets the audience and also pop culture in general. I understand and hollered at most of the jokes and references. The soundtrack is absolutely FIRE. We have the mesmerizing BYE BYE BYE by NSYNC dance sequence at the beginning, the suit-up scene with GLAMOROUS by Fergie in the background, a road-trip montage with I'M WITH YOU by Avril Lavigne playing on the radio. Heck, there's also a lovey-dovey-stabby-bloody scene featuring YOU'RE THE ONE THAT I WANT from Grease for all the goldies out there. As a US-UK pop music enthusiast, I was like a kid in a candy store. And also, how can I forget about the EPIC battle near the end that used LIKE A PRAYER by Madonna?😩 All I have to say is 'fantastic, glorious, EXTRAORDINARY'. Ryan went through one hell of a journey just to get the license to the song and he sure did make the most out of it. I'm not kidding when I say that that montage is probably one of the best I've ever seen (I might be a little biased 'cause I love that song but the scene, overall, is truly incredible). And while we're on the topic of action and montages here, everything was beautifully filmed. The fighting sequences were such a treat to watch, nothing ever felt too busy to the point of not being able to focus on anything. Also, Ryan and the Mouse did not spare any expenses when it came to cameos. My gosh, like I've mentioned above, I was in the dark when it came to everything mutants-related, but even I was able to recognize a few familiar faces that fans online would go crazy over. And in addition, when Blake Lively came out as Ladypool, I literally lost my shit. She looked so good, her body was SNATCHED, like HELLO MOTHER???💅 But all these amazing cameos and jokes brought out what I considered the downside to the movie. I felt that the plot was outshined by them. To be clear, the plot was not bad but it wasn't that spectacular either. And when the credit started rolling, it was the thing I remembered the least.
Overall, I really enjoyed this movie. I had a great time at the cinema and laughed out loud with friends. Sure, there might be a few flaws, but the product, in general, is truly outstanding and worth checking out. I, your casual movie enjoyer, rate this movie 9/10❤️

I hope this doesn't sound rude, but I was dying of laughter for a good while when you said that you were spooked by the opening of my previous ask. To be fair, I would be too. It's pretty agressive. I just wanted to throw you for a loop, My bad.
This is off topic, but I wanted to talk about Bully. Do you like Jimmy? I like him. I enjoy his snark and determination. Do you have a favourite character? A favourite clique? Mine would be the preps. They're aggravating as hell but I like their bitchiness. I especially ship Jimmy with Gord. I like the dynamic of a prissy bitch preppy boy with a snarky punk guy (I always dressed Jimmy as punk/goth) who challenges Gord's prejudices and upbringing. Besides, all the other girls in the game are boring as shit. With the exception of Zoe. She's cool.
And do you like the story? Would you change the ending? Or do you wish they explored something a bit more? It's been so long since I've played... but I wouldn't mind more side missions. Just more character interaction!
I'm actually super shocked that you like George Michael/Wham!. I literally gasped. I've noticed that the majority of tlb fandom tends to dislike pop from the 80s (or maybe just in general, idk) and tend to favour rock music. (I like rock too...I'm just more versatile with my music, I guess) I was expecting you to say that you didn't like them. But that's such a nice surprise. My all-time favourite song by George? Probably Fastlove, Pt 1. It... I just...I love how it's funky and fresh and energetic. But despite it's upbeat sound, a sad story is hidden in the lyrics. It talks about missing his dead boyfriend and pursuing intimacy with other men, hidden in the dark of the night. He slips a male pronoun in song, and you can just tell he was screaming, suffering by being in the closet, and suffocated by heteronormative expectations of society. Opps... accidentally made this too heavy. But at the moment I really like "A Ray of Sunshine" by Wham! It's about George being too scared to sleep with a guy, so they just end up cuddling through the night. Most of the lyrics are pretty unassuming but I really like when he says "I can't stop this rythum in my heart". I just interpret as him saying he can't help his attraction towards the guy, or men in general. I just find George very comforting... A safe space.
That's pretty wild that you listen to music from the 1910s. How do you even get exposed to something that old? The oldest music I listen to is Sinatra, and that's only a few songs. And I like Gorillaz too! Murdoc is my fave!
And Is Malice Mizer a Japanese artist? The name of an album? Because I tried looking them up on apple music and all it pulled up was an album...
As for Nsync... I just randomly found a song of their's on YouTube that I liked and I binged their entire discography. I have a soft spot for music from the Noughties. It reminds me of being a kid. Some favourites from the decade are Lady (Hear me Tonight) and Groovejet (If This Ain't Love).
So this was long as fuck. I mean't to say in previous ask, it's so sweet that you like my asks. But are you sure it's alright? I'm sure I'm flooding your inbox...
it doesnt sound rude at all lmao i did think it was funny after reading the actual message but the notification out of context scared the helll out of me
I LOVE JIMMY hes so funny hes like top 5 game protags for me fs. my favorite bully character would probably have to be gary.. hes just such an asshole and hes so funny especially early game before he like betrays jimmy. my favorite clique would probably have to be the greasers. the other cliques just kind of really annoyed me. i dont really ship jimmy with anyone but i dont really have any objections to jimmy x gord. tbh... i kind of hated zoe.. she was just so nothing. i dont really get the appeal. for me at least she was extremely 2 dimensional and her and jimmys "romance" happened way too quickly (due to her introduction being in the last chapter of the game) and if she were introduced sooner and had more time to develop i might like her but she is just kind of there?? yk
how can people not like wham/george michael??? its such fun music. ive never heard "fastlove pt.1" ill have to give it a listen! i think i might of heard "a ray of sunshine" before but tbh theres so many songs w sun/sunshine in their title i might be mixing it up w something else
uh to be honest i don't really know how i got exposed to music that old bur i remember when i was still in middle and high school instead of paying attention i would sometimes watch silent films. i think as i started to listen to music from the 60s or so i just started to go earlier and earlier through the decades until eventually i hit 1910s and there isnt much recorded music before that that isnt classical.
oh Malice Mizer is a japanese band! im not surprised much didnt appear when you searched on apple music due to copyright issues their music isnt on like any streaming services besides YouTube. i got into them because i saw a video of a hello kitty cd player playing their song "gekka no yasoukyoku" on tiktok two years ago. i own like 5 cds of theirs which is actually pretty expensive because it all has to be imported from japan. if you listen to them and you dont like it i wont take offense its not for everyone :p
wow i have never heard of those nsync songs ever. im not that into boybands either.. the only two songs of theirs i have EVER heard is "Bye Bye Bye" and that one song that was in trolls 3 idk it was all over my tiktok fyp though.
ofc its alright!! i love your asks!! if i didnt i just wouldnt answer them. and your asks arent flooding my inbox at all dw :3

heres how i dressed up jimmy in my playthough of the game. kept getting insults thrown left and right but they just dont see the vision....

OC Introduction: Madison Elena Hunter — X-Men. (17-18 during X2: X-Men United, and so forth.)
Reluctant student at Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters, and girlfriend of John "Pyro" Allerdyce until he dips. Spoiled rich-ish girl from Ottawa Hills, Ohio. Girly girl. Captian of the cheerleadering team. Enjoys video games. Loves pop music. (Britney, *NSYNC, BSB, Christina, and the like.) Kind of a bitch. Her parents sent her to Xavier's when she was barely 15, hoping it'd help her control her abilities. She has the mutation of hydrokinesis; she can create and manipulate water. Her best friend is Jasmine Jacobs, whom she met at Xavier's.
Maddie (or "Mads") hates attending the institute; she wants to be a normal teenager. She misses her home, her family, her old friends. She doesn't care about social issues or training or fighting in battles. She wants nothing to do with "that crap." She also kind of hates being a mutant, for those same reasons. Why the fuck did her father have to be a carrier of some gene that made her born a dangerous freak in the eyes of millions? She's "too pretty for this!"
If you ask her, the only good thing about her school is meeting her friends and meeting John. (They met and started dating when they were 15.) And then he just left. She's felt like total shit since that day.
Playlist.
Her father, Richard Hunter, is of Mexican and Scottish descent, while her mother, Donna, is Mexican-American.
She has two younger siblings: a brother, Greyson, who is 2 years her junior, and a sister, Allison, who is 5 years younger than her. They have a chocolate brown male Toy Poodle named Rococo.
If she had existed in the movies, she would've been in the cafeteria scene at the museum, present for the whole trip in X2, and she probably would've been at the battle in X3.
#Listen: I made homegirl when I was 18 years old. I realize today that John would never date a girl like her. ✋🏽😭#Just let it be okay!? Now, lemme ramble a little bit.
I wasn't born in the 1990s, but its cultural impact remains. I'm here to talk about the music and cultural impact, in particular, because many would argue that it was the golden era. I got my glimpse through TV shows and music videos. 'The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air' was on heavy rotation in my household, as were Michael Jackson and Whitney Houston.
That was my introduction: my mom singing 'I Will Always Love You' while MTV music videos replayed in the background.
But the impact it has on pop culture today, 34 years after its emergence, is what really gets me. You can see its fingerprints all over contemporary music, fashion, and even internet memes. It's as if the '90s created a blueprint for coolness that refuses to fade away.
I can't imagine what hearing TLC's 'Creep' live right when it dropped would have been like, or being in the crowd when Kurt Cobain was scream-singing 'Smells Like Teen Spirit.'
It's that era that birthed groups and acts like Flo and Olivia Rodrigo.
You know, there's something about the rawness of '90s music that just hits different. It was a time when artists weren't afraid to push boundaries and speak their truth. Take Tupac Shakur, for example. His lyrics were like poetry, tackling issues like racism, poverty, and social injustice head-on. And then you had the Notorious B.I.G., spinning tales of street life with unmatched skill and charisma.
These were more than just songs; they were snapshots of life in the '90s, capturing the struggles and triumphs of a generation.
But it wasn't all serious stuff. The '90s also gave us some of the catchiest pop hits of all time. From the infectious beats of Spice Girls to the smooth grooves of Boyz II Men, there was something for everyone on the airwaves. And let's not forget about the rise of boy bands like *NSYNC and Backstreet Boys.
Ballads ruled the charts, with artists like Mariah Carey, Celine Dion, and Brian McKnight belting out love songs that still give us all the feels today. Whether you were nursing a broken heart or falling head over heels, there was a '90s jam for every romantic occasion.
Adele was kind of a product of that too.
Now, let's switch gears and talk about fashion. The '90s were all about self-expression, and nowhere was that more evident than in the clothes we wore. Grunge was king, with flannel shirts, ripped jeans, and Doc Martens becoming the unofficial uniform of rebellious youth everywhere. And let's not forget about the rise of streetwear, with brands like Tommy Hilfiger, FUBU, and Supreme making a splash on the scene.
But perhaps the most iconic fashion statement of the '90s was the rise of the supermodel. From Cindy Crawford to Naomi Campbell, these runway goddesses epitomised glamour and sophistication, setting the bar high for fashionistas everywhere.
So yeah, the '90s may be a thing of the past, but its influence? It still lives here.
This was a ramble by,
The PCR.

Cyberchase Character Discussion (for your local Cyberchase trivia quiz) - #3: Jackie
Here we go again. I've made this style of post about Inez and Matt, and now it's Jackie's turn.
#3: Jackie
Let's start with her bio from "Meet the Cybersquad". Again, this almost 25 years old now, so who knows how much of it is still canon.
So, we get our introduction to Jackie. She's smart, funny, has a plan, and is over-the-top. Yeah, that's accurate so far.
For some reason, this page was not in her original bio when they released it in 2001. They went back and added this page later in 2002. This is the only bio that I have seen that had content added like this. This page lets us know that her favorite color is yellow, and she loves tofu burgers. I don't know if the show has confirmed that she is a vegetarian or vegan. She is shown to care about animals, so I wouldn't be surprised if she was canonically a vegetarian.
Her favorite book is one that I hadn't heard about until now: "Walk Two Moons" by Sharon Creech. In this story, the 13 year old protagonist, Salamanca (Sal) Hiddle, goes on a cross-country road-trip to visit her mother. There are themes of coming to term with loss and building new relationships. It makes me wonder if, at some point in development, the show-runners might have been interested in giving Jackie a tragic loss similar loss to Sal. I haven't seen the later seasons where they bring in the kid's families, but I don't believe they have gone that route so far.
For her favorite music, we get two bands: Destiny's Child and NSYNC. These are very much a product of the time. Destiny's Child actually disbanded in 2006, as the members went off to do solo work. NSYNC disbanded in 2002, and then reunited in 2023. Well, we know that Jackie loves her R&B and Pop music, so I'm sure she found other bands to follow since then.
Her favorite movie is Shrek, which only came out in 2001. Matt and Inez have definitely sent her all the memes that have come out about that movie since then. Her pet peeves are bugs and anything messy. Yeah, that still tracks. She has a "Wheaton Terrier" named Brandy. I don't know if the spelling has changed over the years, or if they just made a spelling mistake in her bio, but I have only seen it spelled as "Wheaten".
Jackie also gets a bio from Nelvana, which is pretty cool. I've only been able to find surviving archives of bios for her and Matt. They have sections for Inez, Dr. Marbles, Motherboard, The Hacker, Buzz, and Delete. However, all of those are left empty in the surviving archives of the pages. I don't know if bios were completed for those other characters.
We get emphasis on the point of Jackie being organized. We also get more insight into how she solves problems. She uses diagrams, charts, and graphs among other things. She also touched on her tendency to use initials as shorthand for things. I remember the Blue Bunny Place (B.B.P) from "Of All The Luck". Was she hip in 2002? Is she still hip now? I'm not qualified to say.
We also get an introduction to Jackie through the official prequel web comic, "How It All Started: Episode 3". We see Jackie making her own skirt out of strips of fabric. I assume it is for cheer-leading.
Narration: Meanwhile, on Earth, three kids who don't know each other are about to have the adventure of their lives.
Jackie: I gotta organize this stuff
Narration: meet Jackie, who has her own sense of style...
Narration: And her own way of doing things!
Here's Jackie's Official Cyberchase Trading Card.
When they picked her favorite line as "Make room! I gotta pace!", they probably picked her most iconic line. She loves video games, piano, and foreign languages, which is great. We do get to see her play an unnamed videogame during Season 1 Episode 25 "A Battle of Equals". The hero "San Man" is trying to save the environment by stopping the villains that are trying to pollute it. One villain is called Johnny Grime. There are number riddles, and they are the same sort of riddles that the kids solve during the episode.
I don't think we ever see her playing piano or speaking a second language on the show. Quick question: What are those shoes that she wears? Inez has a pair or blue boots. Matt has a pair of red and white sneakers. Jackie's shoes are a little harder to place. They are purple, and they have considerable heels. Were these meant to be high-tops? I don't know that I've seen high-tops with heels in that size before.
The big thing that people remember Jackie for are her dramatic outbursts. And her most iconic one is probably from Season 3 Episode 4 "A Piece of the Action". You can tell that someone in the animation department had fun with this one.
Here's a transcript.
Jackie: Great! Now we'll never get into Hacker's control center. And if we can't get in there we can't stop Hacker. And if we can't stop Hacker, he'll erase Motherboard's memory with the magnetite! Cyberspace is doomed! Doomed I tell you! Doo-hoo-hoo-hoomed!
Matt: And the award for best dramatic outburst of today goes to Jackie!
Jackie: Matt!
What else can I say about Jackie. Well, she has an amazing tolerance for cold weather. Even in Arctic Cybersites, she still made do with the same short skirt.
Anyway, here's the prototype for Jackie. She had a completely different hairstyle and outfit. She was also called Julie. Again, I consider her current design an upgrade from the prototype.
And here's the Who's Who document on her.
We get more discussion on Jackie being a gymnast and artist. She loves Instant Messaging. I guess that would have been AOL Instant Messenger (AIM) at the time.

mister sarcastic looks like a drag king
nonnie ive been tryign to answer this ask on mobile firefox web for like five days i'm so sorry it kept crashing on me
but yes he does 100%. i think that all of tim's alter egos are kinda draggy when you look at em -- caroline hill as a fishy queen, alvin draper as a deconstruction of toxic masculinity, robin himself as the ideal young man.
i kinda think about tim as being just like.... normal for most of robin? like tim drake is just like a wealthy/upper middle class guy. he likes 90s rock and and dc-universe cola and skateboarding and hanging with his friends. (contrast with dick as growing up in a circus, jason as either being in a poor but loving family or in a poor but crappy family, depending on pre-/post-crisis or even bruce being the orphaned son). what distinguishes tim are these characters he becomes.
with robin, he takes on this idealized role of protector and watcher and sidekick. at the time tim was robin, batman & robin were urban myths, acting as unknown shadows in the night (this is part of the reason for mister sarcastic to begin with). so he's becoming this mythical protector of his city.
with alvin draper, that's a character meant to infiltrate a troubled teen camp? something like that? tim's trying to fit in with a bunch of jds basically and so he made this character meant to embody what that looks like. & at the time of introduction, alvin's a total fuckin prick! the fact tim uses that name with young justice (& then later in red robin) is funny to me because of the origin of the character is so divorced from tim as a guy, which his teammates know better.
mister sarcastic (photo under the cut), who is a character meant to appear on a young justice public access reality tv show (insane. i love yj) kind of acts as a deconstruction of 90s pop culture guys. the stupid green glasses i feel like one of the NSYNC or backstreet boys wore at one point. the cloak with the flames on it and the FUR as a club piece. ditto with the semi-fishnet shirt? mister sarcastic has tribal tattoos and three different arm band tats. he has these studded leather cuffs i remember seeing in 90s fashion too. the whole thing is over the top 90s & it's ass-over-heels campy lol. similarly, the way mister sarcastic treats "his" teammates also feels like a parody of some of the behavior you saw from that typa guy at the time. making sex jokes about wonder girl, for instance. because we know tim-as-robin is playing a character, to me, as a reader, it comes across as a self-aware performance that just reads like tim's parodying a certain type of douchebag. which, paired with the outfit, is drag
anyway, all that being said, nonnie i totally agree with you. if anyone does a mister sarcastic drag king typa deal PLEASE let me know i would love to see it
#i rant#anon ask#tim drake#dc#sorry if i got publishing timelines wrong it's been a couple years since i read robin & yj

Yes, there’s something about a book.
The Art of MTV - The MTV: Music Television Logo August 1, 1981-February 8, 2010 by Fred Seibert
I've often posted here about the MTV logo, and people keep asking me about it, even all these decades later. At least, people ask about the OG logo that lasted until 2010. It’s true that you can see hundreds of example on the internet, but... there’s just something about a book.
Here's the introduction I wrote for this book of many of my favorite M’s, I think it's adds some (more!) color to the story.
...
The ‘M’ was the star
In a world about to explode with TV channels and noise, it had to be.
By Fred Seibert
My job at MTV: Music Television was to make the ‘M’ the star. The question is, why?
My boss didn’t tell me to do it. My actual job title was Vice President, Program Services. Essentially, I was the original Creative Director and a co-founder. My tasks seemed straightforward: get a logo made, establish the verbal and written vocabulary, and make on-air promotional spots.
Check. Check. Check.
So why did I reject nearly 500 preliminary logo sketches from Manhattan Design? Why did I pick the one you all remember? Why was it so damn important?
Let’s rewind. In 1981, the year we launched, the average American home had just two television channels. Really. In major markets like Los
Angeles or New York, you might get seven primary VHS channels: three national networks and four independents. Most people ignored UHF. In some rural areas or densely packed cities, they had one channel, with reception that was snowy at best. On average, two channels.
But with satellite-distributed cable TV coming fast, the prediction was there would be 100 channels by 1984. One hundred!? Unthinkable. (No one could imagine the 50 million+ YouTube channels we have today.)
In that coming flood of video programming MTV: Music Television wouldn’t even get sampled unless we stood out.
I felt we needed a dominant visual signpost to guide viewers to us. The musicians were important, but they’d come and go. Duran Duran and Pat Benatar might be huge now, but they’d be replaced by Michael Jackson, Nirvana, or the Backstreet Boys.
MTV had to be the constant. The channel itself had to outlast the artists.
To me, it was like the transformation in the ’60s when album covers went from utilitarian to statement pieces. Music alone wasn’t enough—the design, photography, and illustration had to stop you in your tracks. Bob Pittman, my boss, put it perfectly:
“Fred, people don’t buy music. They buy packages.”
The Beatles may have lit the match, but the fire spread fast, and I wanted MTV to burn just as brightly.
What to do?
After hundreds of failed attempts, Manhattan Design walked in with that now-iconic giant ‘M’ with a graffiti-inspired ‘TV’ scrawled over it.
Yes!
My promo mentor Dale Pon had a mantra: “Designs need to dominate the space.”
The ‘M’ did just that—it filled every inch of those old 4x3 TV screens like it owned the room.
From there, my creative partner Alan Goodman and I reached out to young, independent animators around the world. They’d grown up not just with rock’n’roll, but with the album art that gave the music its emotional packaging. We gave them a simple rule: Make sure the ‘M’ is center of attention.
They delivered. Did they ever.
MTV: Music Television bombarded the world with A Flock of Seagulls, The Human League, Michael Jackson, Joan Jett, David Bowie, Snoop Doggy Dogg, Aerosmith, Radiohead, Counting Crows, Sheryl Crow, NSYNC, Britney Spears, Eminem, Linkin Park, Blink-182, Mandy Moore...
Many of those artists are now forgotten, dismissed, or listened to only through the fog of nostalgia. And once MTV dropped “Music Television” for "Jersey Shore," "Ridiculousness," and a gutted version of the logo, something got lost. Visit the MTV Store today—the only T-shirts that sell carry the classic logos designed by Pat Gorman, Frank Olinsky, and Patti Rogoff of Manhattan Design.
The artists came and went.
But MTV: Music Television?
MTV hit the world with more glorious M’s than you could shake a stick at.

2025 Updated Intro Post, Finally!!!
🌟💜🌟💜🌟💜🌟💜🌟💜🌟💜🌟💜🌟💜
Gooood morning, evening, or night wherever you are! I thought I'd make a little introduction post to kinda showcase the online disaster (me) we've got going on in this corner
I go by Via! If you wanted to call me Kismet or Kis since it's in my username that's fine too, I just stole it from the *NSYNC trollsona band that was in Band Together, haha!
My pronouns are she/her, but I don't mind they.
WHAT YOU'LL MOST LIKELY SEE HERE:
🌟LOTS of Drabbles! My inbox is also open for requests (mainly tf2 or trolls), and I’m in college so I may take a bit to respond but please feel free to HMU, I love to talk!
💜Doodles of characters from the hit game TF2, anyone from Dreamwork’s Trolls, and possibly some stuff from the Innovations Lab that I work at right now!
🫧Some characters I enjoy the most right now:
🌸Scout from TF2
🌸 Pyro from TF2
🌸Sniper from TF2
🌸Solider from TF2
(I’ll probably be talking about them the most!)
🌟Reposts! I love supporting fellow artists and writers! It's the best 💜🌟🫧
🌟A little about me!🌟
I'm 23!
I'm a very kind person but if you're a minor I'd prefer to have minimal contact with you! Not that I don't like talking to youngsters as I have siblings of my own, but I'd prefer to share art and writing among my own age range here! 💜
When not writing or maladaptive daydreaming you can find me doing music, doodling, or reading. I'm a musician (Piano, French horn), and am a sucker for musicals as well. (Any other Hadestown fans out there?)
Huuuuge lover of coffee and coffee mugs ☕️🌟
Aaand that's it! Thanks for reading, and I hope y'all stick around a bit! 💜🌟🫧

MUSIC. Music was not a massive part of Cecelia's life until she was a teenager. She learned piano, and the radio tended to be on for the housekeeper but that was about it. Not that she would ever voice this but her introduction to cool music was her eldest brother, Mycroft. That's the plus of having a brother ten years your senior; OK Computer becomes a staple of your music library while everyone else is obsessing over *NSYNC and Destiny's Child. As a teenager, Celia revelled in the knowledge that older boys thought she had good taste in music; a serious standout compliment when you're fifteen. This carried her through into her twenties as well though.
At twenty-two, Celia was modelling in London full-time and was at the forefront of the British IT Girl. Cecelia Holmes became synonymous with Indie Rock, thanks to being friends with, and therefore being romantically linked to, most indie rocker frontmen, even if at the time she was still technically married. However, by 2010, Cee was famously single and her stamp of approval was priceless for up-and-comers.
But Cee also just genuinely loves music. Whether it's at a gig, from a record in her living room, streaming; or listening on her crappy 2013 wired Apple headphones because she's lost her AirPods again. There is pretty much always music playing in the house, and more often than not it is indie rock from the 00's or grunge from the 90s or a song from a band you've probably not heard of, but they're very very cool.
#u ever heard of brit pop? did u know cee invented it??#also im always just very into mycroft being a very normal older brother#who sadly was pretty cool in the 90s#( ii. headcanon )

2013 Napa Valley A Cappella Extravaganza — VoicePlay live performances
In January 2013, VoicePlay were the professional headliners to a roster of collegiate and high school a cappella groups at the 8th annual Napa Valley A Cappella Extravaganza. The event is a yearly fundraiser for Napa High School's choral program, hosted by their Vocal Music Workshop a cappella ensemble. These audience-view videos give a taste of the live concert experience.
.
As indicated by the "Hello!" screen, this song is often their opening number for live shows. It's a great, energetic introduction to their playful sound, but doesn't get too far into the shenanigans that might startle the uninitiated.
Details:
title: Don't Stop Me Now
original performers: Queen
written by: Freddie Mercury
arranged by: VoicePlay
My favorite bits:
the slow build that gently eases you into things
Their choreography's not elaborate, but they do it well, and it allows for a bit of individuality to shine through.
the breakdown section culminating with ♫ "Any tiiii-IIIIME" ♫
the driving triplets in the ♫ "No one can stop me" ♫ section
Earl's soaring riffs
That big finish!
Trivia:
This song was the closing section of VoicePlay's Queen in 5 Minutes medley almost six years later.
.
youtube
As much as mainstream pop culture might turn up its collective noses at boy bands when they're at their height of popularity among tween girls, there's no denying that a lot of beloved oldies have their origins there. And no wonder. Pop music is darn catchy and fun by design. VoicePlay makes these selections even moreso with their antics.
Details:
title: boy band medley
original songs / performers: "ABC" by The Jackson 5; [0:50] "I Wanna Hold Your Hand" by The Beatles; [1:30] "My Girl" by The Temptations; [2:18] "Sherry" by The Four Seasons; [3:16] "YMCA" by The Village People; [3:50] "You Got It (The Right Stuff)" by New Kids on the Block; [4:12] "I Want It That Way" by Backstreet Boys; [4:52] "Bye Bye Bye" by *NSYNC; [5:23] "What Makes You Beautiful" by One Direction
written by: "ABC" by Berry Gordy, Freddie Perren, Alphonzo Mizell, & Deke Richards; "I Wanna Hold Your Hand" by John Lennon & Paul McCartney; "My Girl" by Smokey Robinson & Ronald White; "Sherry" by Bob Gaudio; "YMCA" by Jacques Morali & Victor Willis; "You Got It (The Right Stuff)" by Maurice Starr; "I Want It That Way" by Andreas Carlsson & Max Martin; "Bye Bye Bye" by Kristian Lundin, Jake Schulze, & Andreas Carlsson; "What Makes You Beautiful" by Savan Kotecha, Rami Yacoub, & Carl Falk
arranged by: VoicePlay
My favorite bits:
thirty-something Earl being able to recreate the sound of preteen Michael Jackson, holy heck
the way the choreography gets more complex as they move through the eras of music
making hand gestures to signify members of the Village People during YMCA
"I hate you guys." :(
the ♫ "wah-wah-wah-wah" ♫ harmonies transitioning from NKOTB to BSB
hamming up their roles in the "Boy Band 101" section
🎉 Party poppers!!! 🎉 (Which they got in trouble for a year later.)
Trivia:
Having this medley in their repertoire may have given them an advantage when "Bye Bye Bye" was chosen as the battle song for their first episode of The Sing-Off.
Tony was, in fact, the first one from this configuration of VoicePlay to leave. Not to go solo, though. He wanted to be home with his family and focus on growing PattyCake.
The guys updated this medley and filmed a full music video for it as the result of a Patreon poll in 2019.
.
youtube
What happens when you take a country music classic, kick up the tempo a bit, and infuse your performance with an air of competition between bandmates? You get this, a favorite among VoicePlay fans.
Details:
title: Elvira
original performers: The Oak Ridge Boys
written by: Dallas Frazier
arranged by: Geoff Castellucci
My favorite bits:
the opening harmonies from the trio
Eli nudging Earl to take the lead, resulting in Geoff going to pout next to Layne
Layne pointedly staying out of whatever's happening, but still keeping an eye on things
everyone's feigned surprise for the "Earl can sing low, too" gag, especially Geoff giving his best dramatic chipmunk
Earl's breath control on that long note and the ensuing huff to refill his lungs
Geoff's wide stance and shoulder wiggle to prepare for his high notes
those lush ending chords
Trivia:
Home Free liked this version of the song so much that they asked Geoff to help create an arrangement for them to record with The Oak Ridge Boys.
.
youtube
You'd think a cappella fans might be sick of this song, given how frequently it was used on Glee. But, as usual, VoicePlay bring their own talented twists to this classic rock song and make it something fresh. This recording is missing the first verse, but it still has most of the best parts.
Details:
title: Don't Stop Believing
original songs / performers: "Don't Stop Believin'"; [0:54] "Open Arms"; and [1:02] "Any Way You Want It" by Journey; [0:46] "Oh Sherrie" by Steve Perry
written by: all songs written by Steve Perry in collaboration – "Don't Stop Believin'" with Jonathan Cain & Neal Schon; "Oh Sherrie" with Randy Goodrum, Craig Krampf, & Bill Cuomo; "Open Arms" with Jonathan Cain; "Any Way You Want It" with Neal Schon
arranged by: Layne Stein & Geoff Castellucci
My favorite bits:
the gradual layering in the polyphony section, using other Journey / Steve Perry songs to fit inside the rhythmic gaps…
…culminating in that huge chord (Are we sure there are only five of them?)
their use of silence during the unison section
the camera panning around to take in the well-deserved standing ovation
Trivia:
VoicePlay filmed a full video for "Don't Stop Believin'" a few years later when they were the featured guests at Camp A Cappella 2016.
They later did a full version of "Any Way You Want It" as part of the second round of their Partwork series.
For a couple years, Eli also sang with a Journey cover band called Raised On Radio in between VoicePlay gigs.

Summer of K-pop Tag, 16
[introduction/full list of questions]
I went to my city's pride festival this weekend!!! It was awesome, I got to dance a bunch :) I say dancing but really I just stim to the beat hehehe!
Current Obsessions: (today's list is super weird, mostly because I've been in a mood [TM])
Human Right -- The Strike
Bye Bye Bye -- *NSYNC
I Can't Make You Love Me -- Bonnie Raitt
Question(s) of the Day: what's your 2023 song of the summer so far?
I could pick SHINee's "Hard", which was actually released during the summer months of this year, but I'm breaking my own rule and choosing Dreamcatcher's "BONVOYAGE"--it may have been released in May, but my uni was out of session by then, so it feels like a summer song to me! And honestly, I'll be very lucky if my future self remembers the summer of 2023 by a song this breathtaking. Oh my god I love this song--I love the ups & downs of its structure; I love the way it centers the group's beautiful vocals; I love that it's an epic, angsty rock ballad with some surprisingly tender moments. I'm mostly a fan of DC b-sides, so I haven't been this excited about a title track of theirs since "Odd Eye", and then "Deja Vu" before that--"BONVOYAGE" is such a great reminder for me of just how good DC's signature style is!
Tomorrow: Sunmi!
#i do like 'hard' a LOT though#we'll see how it ages!#but i have a feeling it will be very high on my songs of the summer list#summer of kpop 2023#dreamcatcher kpop
