#oc: lindwyrm

Decided to finally share one of my IEYTD OCs, Operative Lindwyrm. Hero Forge ref for now while I get to drawing her, file info under the cut.

Lindwyrm had a fairly average, but comfortable life. All it took was one bad week to plunge her into financial distress. She was laid off from her office job, walked in on her boyfriend cheating on her, then found that he’d run off with the rent money. In her frantic job search, she found a position with Zoraxis. By the time she realized they were an evil evil corporation, it was too late to just quit. Even if it wasn’t, the benefits were just too good.

Lindwyrm is cautious, and does her best to avoid displeasing her superiors. While she does question her orders sometimes, she’ll ultimately follow through with anything that will keep her alive. She’s convinced that she’s stuck with Zoraxis until it collapses, but claims that it’s still better than living on the streets or working at Walmart. Lindwyrm has become somewhat desensitized to violence and death, having witnessed so much of both, and isn’t afraid to get a little blood on her hands. Caution should be taken with her, especially if she’s armed and cornered.

Trivia:

-Her favorite holiday is Halloween. Her proudest achievement so far is winning the annual Zoraxis Halloween costume contest.

-She is greatly insecure and susceptible to praise.

-She has a crush on John Juniper but knows he’s way out of her league.

Finally got to drawing Operative Lindwyrm (the dragon is admittedly there to fill up space)

my daughter silver!! or silverwyrm, i'm still deciding if i still want to refer to her as that. anyway she's a young lindwyrm, some stuff about her under the read-more!

[id: a reference sheet for silver the lindwyrm. she is light gray with darker stripes on her neck and tail, and a white face and throat. the end of her tail splits into a v-shape. she has light blue sails on the back of her neck, just behind her wings, and the end of her tail just before it splits. the underside of her wings are also light blue, and the topside is dark gray. she has three pairs of whiskers, one pair by her nostrils and the other two on her chin. her eyes have blue sclera and a dark blue pupil. these details of her whiskers and eyes are indicated by text and close-ups.

she has long, hooked horns with a smaller set underneath. there are some more text that reads, "thumb + two fingers; able to grasp" and "2 wing fingers" in reference to her hand, which is part of her wing. there is a cropped shot of her with her wing at rest against her back, closed. there is a diagram pointing out that her "upper arm + forearm are same length", comparing it with an animal's typical front leg.

she is surrounded by tiny butterflies that are light cyan with dark blue eyespots on the undersides of their wings. there is text pointing out she is always followed by them. there is a close-up of a butterfly's underside with its eyespots. there is another similiar close-up, except this one's eyespots are open, revealing blue sclera with darker pupils. the text reads, "Silver has the ability to view through these eyespots". there are a few cropped eyes showing that the eye can look around and close itself, and text reads, "pupil can look around (+ have an "eyelid").

some lore!

lindwyrms are the most magical of magical creatures and are the dictation of magic - that is to say, each lindwyrm has its own kind of magic and they can share it with everybody else. silver's magic is of light, and the big dead lindwyrm that surrounds the archipelago is of storm magic, hence everybody there has storm magic. magic can come in different "states," kind of like how water has different states: liquid, water, gas. in magic's case, it can be cold like ice, hot like fire, dark like shadow, etc etc other standard fantasy elements.

buuut i digress. anyway silver is pretty much the last lindwyrm in all of existence because the rest of her kind got hunted down because their bones are super good at magic stuff. hence silver has been hidden away when she was born, and while things have changed since then she's still too scared to join the rest of the world. she can use her butterflies to experience it secondhand though! which would have to do for now.

Have some dragons, specifically Lindworms!!

Just some concepts floating around in my head, I went for designing a big bad dragon guy (Leviath Moloch) as a wizard that takes a human form for better luring his victims in order to eat them (mostly dragons).

Oskà is more of a protagonist.

the lindwyrm prince?

Oooh! Another Beauty and the Beast type! I've had the thought for a while that if I did an adapation of this I'd make the Lindwyrm female, as the two flowers the queen ate were supposed to give her a boy and a girl child, not a boy and a boy snake. And wouldn't you know it I had a cursed wyrm woman obsessed with getting married ready to go with my OC Lady Melusine from my Canon Descendants BatB story.

I don't have much of an idea yet but yeah if I were to do one she'd be the Lindwyrm. Cuz if I can give Hans a redemption arc I can give one of my other villains one as well x)

Probably have to cut out the actually eating people part though...(she may have eaten Gaston at this point though)

I think I'll name the shepherdess bride Amaryllis. And she'll either be responsible for releasing Melusine from the book she got trapped in in the BatB story or get pulled into it too.
