[ 📹 Scenes from destruction evident in the Nuseirat Refugee Camp, in the central Gaza Strip, following a week of Israeli occupation ground operations and non-stop bombardment of the camp, destroying the vast majority of the camp's residential buildings.]
🇮🇱⚔️🇵🇸 🚀🏘️💥🚑 🚨
CARNAGE IN THE GAZA STRIP CONTINUES AS ISRAELI OCCUPATION TARGETS NUSEIRAT CAMP BEFORE PLANNED ATTACK ON RAFAH
On the 196th day of "Israel's" ongoing special genocide operation in the Gaza Strip, the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) committed a total of 4 new massacres of Palestinian families, resulting in the deaths of no less than 42 citizens, mostly women and children, while another 63 others were wounded over the previous 24-hours.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health stated on Friday that over 730'000 Palestinian citizens of Gaza, in particular the north of the enclave, suffer from a severe lack of healthcare services and accused the Zionist occupation of deliberately destroying Gaza's healthcare system.
In the meantime, at a meeting of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC), the United States vetoed a resolution which would have granted full membership status at the United Nations for the State of Palestine.
The Security Council overwhelmingly supported the measure to induct Palestine into the United Nations with full statehood rights, with 12 member-states voting in favor, two abstaining (UK and Switzerland), and only the United States voting against the resolution, vetoing the measure.
In other news, a battalion commander with the IOF announced on Thursday while speaking with his Battalion's soldiers, that the Israeli occupation army would be entering Rafah following the end of the current ground operation concentrated on the outskirts of the Al-Nuseirat Refugee Camp, in the central Gaza Strip.
Meanwhile, the Israeli occupation army's 162nd military division said it had completed its ground operation inside the Nuseirat Camp, which lasted about a week, as occupation warplanes hammered the camp with endless airstrikes. The occupation army also attempted to isolate the two halves of the Gaza Strip from one another and prevented displaced Palestinians from returning to their homes in the north of the enclave.
The Commander of the Israeli occupation forces' 932nd battalion said that following the end of its ground operations on the outskirts of the Nuseirat Camp, “We are going to Rafah, and the people of Israel are counting on you to implement this in the best way, as in Nuseirat, Zaytoun, and Burj al-Tuffah, and as in Al-Shifa (hospital), so in Rafah as well," portending future mass massacres of Palestinian civilians in the city of Rafah.
Elsewhere in Gaza, the carnage continued with the Israeli occupation forces renewing intense airstrikes targeting the Al-Shati Refugee Camp, west of Gaza City, in the northern Gaza Strip.
According to local reporting, at least four Palestinian were killed, and several others wounded, after Zionist occupation fighter jets bombed a residential home belonging to the Al-Sir family, which at the time of the bombardment was sheltering displaced Palestinians, including members of the Abu Jiyab family in the Al-Shati refugee camp.
At the same time, IOF warplanes bombed a residential building in the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood, north of Gaza City, resulting in the deaths of five Palestinian civilians and wounding a number of others. Victims were transported to the Arab al-Ahli Hospital, also in Gaza City.
Similarly, occupation forces bombed 10th Street, south of Gaza City.
Yet another occupation airstrike targeted in the vicinity of the Al-Shati Camp, west of Gaza City, killing one Palestinian civilian and wounding at least three others.
In another bit of horrific news, the decomposing corpses of about 30 Palestinians were discovered in two mass graves dug in the courtyard of the Al-Shifa medical complex, in the Al-Rimal neighborhood of Gaza City, including the bodies of women and the elderly, while the fates of roughly 1'000 Palestinians who were present in the hospital during the Israeli raid remain unknown at this time.
Israeli occupation warplanes also bombed several sites in Beit Lahia, in the northern Gaza Strip.
At the same time, Zionist soldiers opened gunfire on displaced Palestinians east of Jabalia, in the north of Gaza, martyring three civilians and wounding several others.
Elsewhere in Gaza, Zionist occupation aircraft bombarded a civilian residence belonging to the Qishlan family in the New Camp area of the Nuseirat Refugee Camp, in the central Gaza Strip, after which, local paramedic and civil defense crews retrieved the bodies of two Palestinians killed in the strike. The bodies of the dead were taken to nearby Al-Awda Hospital in the camp.
As a result of a previous IOF airstrike, which targeted a tent belonging to the Ayyad family, east of Rafah City, in the southern Gaza Strip, the death toll rose to 11 overnight as victims succumbed to their injuries.
In the Khan Yunis Governate, local civil defense personnel managed to recover the decomposing bodies of four civilians from various areas of the city over the last day, while paramedic crews from the north of the Nuseirat Camp, in central Gaza, recovered the bodies of another 9 martyrs following the withdrawal of occupation forces from the area.
Additionally, warplanes with the Israeli occupation army bombed several sites in the Al-Mughraqa area, in the central Gaza Strip, wounding several citizens, while another young man was murdered by the bullets of the Israeli occupation's snipers east of Deir al-Balah, also in central Gaza.
As a result of "Israel's" ongoing special genocide operation in the Gaza Strip, the death toll among the population of Gaza now exceeds 34'012 Palestinians killed, including over 14'560 children and 9'582 women, while another 76'833 others have been wounded since the start of the current round of Zionist aggression, beginning with the events of October 7th, 2023.

I had Occupational Therapy today and it's genuinely helping so much, but the more it helps, the more I resent the multiple failed referrals and years of waiting for this therapy. I'm in the UK and I love the National Health Service at its core but it's desperately underfunded so I spend way more time fighting for healthcare than actually receiving any. I just wanted to vent to someone who probably knows exactly how life-changing appropriate therapeutic interventions can be -Ducky
I'm so glad therapy is helping you! I haven't been able to access it at all outside the private sector, which has meant that despite serious mental health issues, I don't have much experience with it. And even now where I'm paying myself, I certainly don't have enough money for a life-changing journey 😅

An American Airlines worker who died was ruled to have been killed by a horrific accident — after a corporate investigator suggested that the cause of death was suicide, according to a report.
Michal Ingraham, a 37-year-old fleet service agent, was driving an aircraft-towing vehicle known as a “tug” on April 20 on the tarmac at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport in Texas when it crashed into a jet bridge near Gate 24 at Barbara Jordan Terminal, according to the American-Statesman of Austin.
He was pronounced dead around 15 minutes after authorities arrived on the scene.
During the police probe of the incident, a corporate investigator hired by American Airlines suggested to cops that Ingraham’s death may have been suicide, the American-Statesman reported.
Lynn Fast told Austin police a day after the incident that he had “obtained information overnight indicating that the fatal incident was a suicide and not an accident,” according to a police report cited by the American-Statesman.
Fast reportedly told authorities that he spoke to Ingraham’s father.
During their conversation, the father apologized for the ordeal, which Fast said he “found strange.”
Police, however, dismissed the wild assertion by Fast.
Instead, one witness told police that the tug Ingraham was driving “accelerated faster than normal and then veered to the right” before the fatal collision.
When other ground agents yelled at Ingraham to hit the brakes, it appeared that the accelerator “got stuck” moments before the crash, witnesses told police.
The crash left Ingraham pinned between the vehicle and the underside of the jet bridge, according to the American-Statesman.
The medical examiner determined that Ingraham died as a result of blunt force injuries, according to the report.
Toxicology reports indicated that Ingraham had no drugs or alcohol in his system at the time of the crash.
Investigators also received a tip from an anonymous source who told them that the vehicle Ingraham was driving had been “marked out of service numerous times for failed brakes,” according to the newspaper.
Ingraham’s tug was reportedly beset with “several mechanical issues” in the days and weeks leading up to the accident, according to the report.
Despite the mechanical failures, the vehicle was kept in operation.
Ten days before the April 20 incident, the same vehicle was involved in a separate collision due to brake failure, a tipster is reported to have told police.
The Post has sought comment from Fast, whose LinkedIn account indicates that he worked as a peace officer for the Texas Department of Public Safety as well as the Addison Police Department in suburban Dallas.
The Post has sought comment from American Airlines.
“We are focused on ensuring that all involved have the support they need during this difficult time,” an airline spokesperson told the American-Statesman.
“American is fully cooperating in this open investigation.”
According to the American-Statesman, the company that oversees maintenance for the vehicle is Menzies Aviation, a UK-based company with an office in Grapevine, Texas.
A Menzies representative declined to comment when reached by The Post.
Menzies’ role in the incident is reportedly the focus of a probe by the Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), according to a police report obtained by the American-Statesman.
The Post has sought comment from OSHA.
Last month, OSHA was criticized for fining an American Airlines subsidiary just $15,625 over the death of a ground crew worker who was sucked into a jet engine at an Alabama airport on New Year’s Eve.

Addressing Housing Disrepair: Ensuring Safe and Healthy Homes
Tumblr media
If you have ever experienced issues like leaking roofs, faulty heating systems, or mold infestations in your rented accommodation, you are not alone. Housing disrepair is a prevalent problem that affects millions of tenants worldwide, leading to various health, safety, and financial concerns. In this article, we delve into the intricacies of housing disrepair, its causes, impacts, legal rights of tenants, and measures to address and prevent such issues.
Introduction to Housing Disrepair
Housing disrepair refers to the state of a property that has fallen into a state of neglect or deterioration due to the failure of the landlord to maintain it adequately. This can encompass a wide range of issues, including structural defects, dampness, pest infestations, electrical faults, and plumbing problems. While some landlords promptly address maintenance issues, others may neglect their responsibilities, leaving tenants to live in substandard conditions.
Common Causes of Housing Disrepair
Tumblr media
Several factors can contribute to housing disrepair, including poor construction, lack of regular maintenance, and environmental factors such as extreme weather conditions. Structural issues like cracked walls, unstable foundations, and leaking roofs are often the result of long-term neglect. Damp and mold thrive in poorly ventilated or damp environments, posing health risks to occupants. Plumbing and heating problems, such as burst pipes and malfunctioning boilers, can disrupt daily life and compromise safety.
Impact of Housing Disrepair
The consequences of living in a property with disrepair issues extend beyond mere inconvenience. Chronic exposure to dampness and mold can exacerbate respiratory conditions like asthma and allergies, leading to respiratory infections and other health problems. Additionally, living in substandard conditions can take a toll on mental well-being, causing stress, anxiety, and depression. Moreover, tenants may incur additional expenses for temporary accommodation or medical treatment, further exacerbating their financial strain.
Legal Rights of Tenants
Tumblr media
Tenants have legal rights regarding housing disrepair, and landlords are obligated to maintain their properties to a certain standard. In the UK, the Landlord and Tenant Act 1985 outlines the landlord's responsibilities, including ensuring the property is safe, structurally sound, and free from hazards. Tenants have the right to request repairs in writing and, if necessary, take legal action to enforce their rights. Options include contacting local housing authorities, seeking assistance from legal aid services, or pursuing compensation through the courts.
Steps to Take When Facing Housing Disrepair
If you encounter housing disrepair issues in your rented accommodation, it's essential to take action promptly. Start by reporting the problem to your landlord or letting agent in writing, providing details of the issue and requesting repairs within a reasonable timeframe. Keep records of all communications, including photographs or videos of the disrepair, as evidence. If the landlord fails to address the issue, seek advice from a housing solicitor or advocacy organization to explore your legal options.
Resources Available for Tenants
Fortunately, tenants have access to various resources and support services to assist them in dealing with housing disrepair issues. Local housing authorities can provide guidance on tenants' rights and mediation services to resolve disputes between landlords and tenants. Legal aid services offer free or low-cost legal advice and representation to individuals facing housing-related issues. Additionally, community organizations and charities may offer practical support, advocacy, and educational programs to empower tenants.
Preventive Measures
Tumblr media
Prevention is key to avoiding housing disrepair issues in the first place. Tenants can protect themselves by conducting regular inspections of their rental properties and promptly reporting any maintenance concerns to the landlord. Familiarize yourself with your tenancy agreement and understand your rights and responsibilities regarding property maintenance. By taking proactive measures and addressing minor issues early on, you can prevent larger problems from developing and ensure a safe and habitable living environment.
Conclusion
Housing disrepair is a significant issue that can have far-reaching consequences for tenants' health, safety, and well-being. By understanding their legal rights, seeking appropriate assistance, and taking proactive measures, tenants can effectively address and prevent housing disrepair issues. It is crucial for landlords, policymakers, and community stakeholders to collaborate in ensuring that all residents have access to safe, healthy, and adequately maintained housing.
FAQs
What are the landlord's responsibilities regarding housing disrepair? Landlords are responsible for maintaining their properties in a safe and habitable condition, including addressing any disrepair issues promptly.
How long does a landlord have to make repairs? Landlords should address repair requests within a reasonable timeframe, typically within 14 to 30 days, depending on the severity of the issue.
Can tenants withhold rent if repairs are not made? In some cases, tenants may be able to withhold rent or deduct the cost of repairs from their rent if the landlord fails to address the issue within a reasonable timeframe.
What if the landlord refuses to make repairs? If the landlord refuses to make necessary repairs, tenants can seek legal advice and explore options such as contacting local housing authorities or taking legal action.

A celebration to the next 75 years. We love the NHS because we value the concepts of equality of care and equity of access. But hospitals are overloaded, access to care varies across the UK, there is little emphasis on preventive health and we have a workforce that feels so undervalued and overworked that thousands of staff are leaving. Can the NHS – which will celebrate its 75th anniversary on 5 July – be saved? There is much to be proud of. The people in the service – medics, nurses, physiotherapists, dieticians, pharmacists, occupational therapists – are all routinely involved in a multidisciplinary approach to caring. Not many countries come close to this. We could have a health service that is internationally acknowledged as excellent, given a concerted effort. But change needs to be devised by clinicians, validated by patients, and facilitated by politicians and administrators – rather than the failed model of change devised by politicians and imposed on staff and patients | The Guardian #nhs #heros #people #purpose #projectourworld

ECB cuts again, USD lower on Fed cut expectations
UK stocks rallied Thursday on interest rate optimism amid expectations for a first Federal Reserve rate cut next week after the European Central Bank (ECB) made its second reduction of the current cycle, with a 25-basis point cut following its latest policy meeting.
New York indexes, however, were mixed following the strong late rally made on Wednesday after the headline US consumer price index (CPI) for August fell to its lowest level in more than three years, although core inflation did tick higher on the month.
Tumblr media
Thursday’s US data saw seasonally adjusted producer prices rise 0.2% month-on-month in August, gaining 1.7% on an annualised basis, down from 2.1% in July. Economists had forecast a month-on-month gain of 0.1% for wholesale inflation and a year-on-year rate of increase of 1.8%. Core producer prices, however, were up 0.3% over the month, above the consensus forecast for a 0.2% increase.
Tumblr media
The data still shows inflation falling in the US, despite the stubborn core numbers, and should encourage the Fed to sanction a moderate 25-basis point rate cut rather than the 50-basis point reduction some commentators had called for after recent weak payrolls data raised fears of a recession in the world’s biggest economy.
Tumblr media
On currency markets, sterling rose 0.23% versus the US dollar to 1.3076, with the greenback weaker on the Fed rate cut expectations. Against the euro, the pound edged up 0.03% to 1.1847 reflecting the ECB move. The Bank of England is widely expected to hold rates steady at its meeting later this month.
At the stock market close in London, the blue-chip FTSE 100 index was up 0.6% at 8,240, while the broader FTSE 250 gained 0.8%, at 20,695, with both indexes hitting one-week highs.
Strength in heavyweight miners helped push the FTSE 100 higher, with Anglo American gaining 3.0% and Antofagasta adding 2.3% as copper prices increased. Meanwhile, a rise in the gold price lifted Fresnillo 3.7% higher and pushed Endeavour Mining ahead 2.8%.
Rate-sensitive housebuilders rose, with Barratt Developments up 2.5% following a much-better-than-expected RICS house price balance survey, which turned positive for the first time since October 2022, with a reading of +1% in August. That marked a significant improvement from the -18% recorded in July and smashed forecasts for a modest improvement to -14%.
Tumblr media
Elsewhere, Diageo rose 3.0% after analysts at Bank of America raised their rating for the drinks giant to buy from neutral.
But Rentokil lost another 2.1% after the pest control and hygiene company plunged by 20% on Wednesday following a profit warning.
Away from blue chips, Trainline topped the FTSE 250 index gainers, up 9.2% after the rail ticketing platform upped its outlook and said it is performing ahead of expectations. NCC Group leaped 10.6% after the cyber security company raised its profit outlook.
On AIM, Marlowe added 5.8% after the provider of software and services for safety and regulatory compliance announced that it will demerge its occupational health division, Optima Health later this month.
But Fevertree Drinks dropped 11.6% amid lowered sales guidance as poor weather contributed to below-forecast first-half results for the mixers maker.
