i saw some replies on a moots post that got me a bit weirded out but im not abt to start unnecessary drama for them so im gonna say something about it here:

if you are a proshipper, or comshipper, or profic, or pro whatever the fuck, and you see someone who's asking if something is a proship or not, your response should NOT be: "they're fictional and i don't care so YOU shouldn't care either".

the reason this weirded me out is because a. some people do not agree with you and you have no right to force your fanbase opinions on them, and b. some people!! dont enjoy csa in their ships!!! fictional or not!!!!! because!!!!!!! that's fucking!!!!!!!!!! weird!!!!!!!!!!!! me personally i don't enjoy my ships with a side of pedophilia or incest, im not gonna harass you if you do i guess but you should NOT try to tell people that they should just because wahh wahh its fictional it doesn't matter. it matters to some people. dont just tell them "enjoy what you enjoy no matter if it's a pedophile ship or not!! :)" just because you enjoy it.

we need to stop equating lack of independence with lack of maturity. people that live with their parents or have a caregiver or don't work or need more support than others aren't inherently immature. there's lots of reasons why people would be in this situation, even outside of disability (plenty of cultures out there expect people to live with their parents past what we consider the beginning of adulthood), and regardless of the reason we deserve support and community through what is already likely to be an isolating experience. don't make it worse for us

It can be so frustrating talking to other bisexuals that think their experiences are universal. It's like, I get it's tempting to want to think the rest of the world is like you but that they draw their lines arbitrarily and closet themselves as one thing. But that isn't true. There are actually a lot of people who are not capable of being attracted to one sex or the other.

The attraction you've experienced to women is the same as a lesbian's and yet you are still capable of being attracted to the male sex because that's who you are. That's your sexuality. Exclusively homosexual people do exist and you can't keep treating them like their sexuality isn't real and their boundaries don't matter. Not everyone is like you. If you "only see gender," not biological sex, when it comes to your attraction, so be it. But there are other types of people in the world. People who should have the right to not be attracted to the male form and to avoid penis in their sex lives, and be open about that, without being put under a microscope or put on trial because of it.

i feel like im in a weird demographic when it comes to the percy jackson live action series because of the age i was when i read them. cause i read the lightning thief for the first time when i was in single digits, so percy being twelve seemed appropriately grown up. and then as i got further into the series and into heroes of olympus, percy got older with me, and was always kinda broadly my age or a little older. so like, the movie cast was too old when that happened, because they were way older than me. but now the series cast is actual twelve year olds (or so) and they are so obviously just little babies that im now forced to confront the fact that uhhh percy was in fact a fuckin child when all this started??? exCUSE ME???

Really fucked up that, when they’re young, Patrick and Art are SO tactile with each other, so comfortable sharing the same space. Art lets Patrick touch him and move him and physically overwhelm him and easily acquiesces to it, if not outright enjoys it.

Then in the present, they’ve been so far out of each other’s orbit for so long, held such animosity that when they have their moment alone in the sauna, Art physically recoils from Patrick’s close proximity! It’s so painful to watch because even as Patrick’s goading him, it’s so obvious he wants to be able to get back into Art’s space. But Art has erected all these walls around himself, he refuses to give Patrick an inch or even admit to missing how close they used to be!

AND THEN we see Art and Tashi later and he wants her to hold him, to be gentle with him, and just TOUCH him. Like, he does miss that kind of close physical contact! He either doesn’t know how to ask for it or is uncomfortable being that openly vulnerable. Worth noting that he pretty much always defers to Tashi in regard to initiating physical intimacy (with their first kiss, though he does state his desire, SHE has to be the one to make the first move). And it seems pretty obvious that Tashi herself isn’t comfortable providing that intimacy, whereas Patrick actively seeks to provide it (the hug/forehead kiss after their win together in the early years, dragging the stool closer to him).

Art has tried very hard to act like he doesn’t need physical affection and even though his discipline and devotion to Tashi has made him a stronger tennis player, it’s made him a hollow person, which, in turn, has kept him from becoming a GREAT tennis player.

All of this, of course, is why the ending hits so damn hard.
