Bdubs’ “SCAR IS TRYING TO MAKE US ALL FURRIES” thing in his video surprised me so much that I instantly had to pause the video and sketch it. I hope you enjoy my hermit furry alignment chart as well. The only non-explanatory one here is Joe, who I think would make a sparkle dog fursona and like, he isn’t really a furry but he enjoys the culture and dresses up from time to time.

Jax with a girly girl who wears the shortest shorts and tight tops <333 just love the idea of this big bad biker corrupting this innocent girl
anon, you are an absolute dollbaby & this speaks to my very soul. jax teller needs a sweet girl, it's true!!!!! i listened to venice bitch by lana for this <3
cw: hyperfem!reader, innocent!reader, slight size kink, protective!jax, nsfw
the first thing jax ever noticed about you is how wide-eyed you looked at others around you. amazed or heartbroken, your sweet eyes held that same vulnerability that made him, and the entire club instantly enamored by you. you weren't a crow eater, couldn't muster up that type of confidence (or keep your eyes on anyone other than jax) for long enough, and all the guys knew it.
tig was the first one to spot you, quietly shuffling into teller morrow with the request of fixing a flat tire. your hair sat in a ponytail on your head, leaving a dainty necklace to show off your neck that slowly grew warmer with the intense california heat. and when jax peers around the corner to see why juice has suddenly stopped working, and prospect stands completely still, he sees you in your sweet little orange tube top & tiny jean shorts & sneakers & long white painted nails and moves a little quicker in his walk over to you.
in fact, he tugs on that same ponytail while asking you about your car, where you're from, where you bought that sweet little tube top, if you've ever been on a bike, if he makes you nervous. and the rest of the guys are flabbergasted. jax? fawning over the sweet, curious little thing that waltzes unto the shop, all coconut & jasmine scented? sure, it's not the most insane thing to happen, but the fierce protectiveness that jax immediately adapts is. like when you bend down to sign the paperwork for your car repairs, he stands behind you, afraid your distressed levi's will lift and show off those sweet orange panties he caught a glimpse of earlier when you leaned into your passenger seat to grab your insurance.
and when you straighten around to show him your paperwork, smiling & proud, his hand resting on the frayed posters of gemma's office, effectively boxing you in, he gently tells you "you gotta be careful when you lean over darlin' not everybody is as gentlemanly as i am— what're you lookin' at dickhead?!" before excusing himself with a light, fleeting touch to your hip before chasing half-sack down to point a strong finger in his face & tell him to leave the female clientele alone.
he loves your height difference, how you peer up at him with such wonderment, and even devastated confusion when you learn of some of the innerworkings of samcro. he absolutely has to fight off his cuteness aggression so he doesn't immediately smush your cheeks in his big hand, bring your other hand to the front of his jeans and purr "too fuckin' cute, you gotta cut it out or i'm gonna blow a load right here, sweetheart." and he looooooves the breathless look that overtakes you, and the slight creeping smile that adorns your face— adapting to him, to his never-ending need to feel you, just as needy and wanting as he is.
your naivety, your kindness, your ability to see jax as he's always wanted to be seen— strong, trying his best, all of it makes him even more enamored by you. you and your clicky wedged heels that always signify when you come to visit him at the shop, the scent of your bubblegum lipgloss floating through the clubhouse, your sweet, sad sniffle when he has to leave on a run. he loves all of it. loves that you need him, most of all.

Oooh can we get the waking up one with SPAS too? She's so cute and morning cuddles would be oh so nice with her.
and of course the thoughts about the night before but shhhhh.
I was gonna mention listening to her heartbeat as well but... T-Dolls don't really have those, huh? Somehow I don't know if mechanical whirring is as comforting.
wait actually. it kinda would be. maybe I just find 'signs of life' comforting...
Tumblr media
(GFL) SPAS-12, Angelia, Kalina, AN-94, and RPK-16 with their S/O the morning after
NSF-W IMPLICATIONS BELOW THE CUT! obviously
Tumblr media
SPAS yawns loudly as she snuggles closer to S/O, her chest acting as a second pillow for their arms.
(SPAS-12) "Hm...what time is it...?"
(S/O) "Hah, morning. It's just eight right now, SPAS."
(SPAS-12) "Mn..."
Her eyes start to close before it suddenly shoots wide open.
(SPAS-12) "AH! W-We can't oversleep, they're finally serving pancakes in the mess hall!"
She sits completely upright, the blanket still hanging off her large chest with ease.
S/O shivers at the sudden cold brushing against their skin before they chuckle, one hand reaching for hers.
(S/O) "At nine, SPAS. You can rest for a little longer. I promise I'll get you double the amount."
SPAS pouts, before cuddling back into S/O, noticing they were respectfully keeping their eyes above neck level.
(SPAS-12) "Alright...You promised, remember!"
With a kiss on their forehead, she can't resist making a small giggle as well.
(S/O) "Yes yes, I know. Besides, it'll give us plenty of time to shower."
(SPAS-12) "But I don't really need to, as much as you do. I see a stain on your neck."
S/O blushed as their hand felt the outline of a hickey.
(S/O) "...S-SPAS, that was from you."
(SPAS-12) "Huh? I didn't-"
Memories from last night came flooding in.
(SPAS-12) "...O-Oh."
Tumblr media
Angelia brushes the hair out of S/O's eyes as she gently smiles.
(S/O) "Mn...? Ange?"
(Angelia) "About time. We gotta get up soon."
(S/O) "Hah, easy for you to say. You weren't the one draining me for everything I had-"
(Angelia) "Then we just need to get your endurance up. Think of it as special training."
Angelia gets up, the scars on her body completely visible.
For a brief moment, she gets a bit self conscious about them, her hand covering them up before seeing S/O's arm reach for her prosthetic.
S/O sits up with them, and kisses the top of her metal hand.
(Angelia) "You stupid or something? I can't feel anything with that arm."
(S/O) "Then how about this?"
Angelia blushes when S/O kisses the scar near her chest lovingly, wrapping their arms around her stomach.
(S/O) "You're beautiful, Ange."
(Angelia) "...Only a dumbass would call scars beautiful."
She doesn't look at them as her remaining hand holds S/O's.
Tumblr media
Kalina groggily opens her eyes, muttering something as she rubs them, suddenly feeling a warmth next to her.
(Kalina) "What the hell is-"
(S/O) "Hah, morning to you too, Kalina."
(Kalina) "...S/O? What are you doing in my-"
Kalina suddenly notices the lack of clothes on them. And herself.
(Kalina) "...Oh. Right."
Her cheeks quickly heat up as she coughs into her mouth awkwardly, feeling a little more at ease hearing S/O's laugh.
(S/O) "Wow, so flustered. You sure weren't like that last night-"
(Kalina) "H-Hey, don't tease me! I'm just not used to the sight of you next to me as soon as I wake up is all!"
S/O hugged Kalina, which she relaxed into their embrace.
(S/O) "Well, you can get used to it if you want my help."
(Kalina) "Heh, that doesn't sound like the worst idea."
Tumblr media
94's eyes flutter open, seeing S/O still asleep.
A soft smile overtakes her lips as she carefully moves closer, hugging them.
(AN-94) "...Is this how you do it?"
(S/O) "It's more like this-"
94's body stiffens when S/O suddenly holds them.
(AN-94) "You were awake?"
(S/O) "For a little bit now. I didn't want to wake you up since you looked so peaceful."
(AN-94) "Thank you for your consideration but-"
She was about to follow up on how she didn't need rest like they did, instead just smiling and resting her head into S/O's neck.
(AN-94) "-...Never mind. You looked peaceful as well."
They both remained there, quiet as they warmed each other up under the blankets with their bare skin touching.
Was...this how romance was supposed to be? There was nothing in her databanks that could even describe how this felt.
Tumblr media
16's finger pokes S/O's nose, stirring them awake.
(RPK-16) "Ah, that finally woke you up."
(S/O) "Hm...I thought I felt something touching me repeatedly."
S/O's face quickly became more alert, now becoming aware of what they had said.
(S/O) "A-Ah, I meant you just trying to wake me up!"
(RPK-16) "Strange, shouldn't I be the one saying that after last night?"
She laughs at their reaction, resting on her stomach as she looked at S/O with such curiosity in her eyes.
(RPK-16) "And all your bravado seems to disappear in the morning. Is that a human thing, or is that just you?"
(S/O) "Psh, as if I could ever match your attitude when it comes to these things, 16."
16 just hummed at that, being entertained by how hard they were trying to not stare at her sideboob.
(RPK-16) "What a lovely morning to wake up to, wouldn't you agree?"

Ride
Pairing: Bucky x fem!reader
Word Count: 1,585
Summary: Gatherings can't be that bad, right? Especially if your boyfriend convinces you to ditch early for a ride home on his motorcycle. It's just unfortunate he's gotta rile you up beforehand.. .
Warnings: 18+, kinda masturbation/edging by motorcycle???, teasing, pet names; sweetheart, doll, cocky Bucky (what? He's definitely a warning)
Notes: This idea came to me and I absolutely could NOT put it down. I don't typically write smut or anything along those lines, so any feedback is appreciated! This is way out of my comfort zone😅
____________
"Come on, Sam is waiting on us."
You roll your eyes and dramatically throw yourself back on the bed. "Yeah well, Sam can wait. I don't even want to be there."
"And you think I do?" He calls to you, pulling on his gloves and nearly stomping back towards your room.
"Bucky, I don't want to go." He stands in your doorway and you pout at him, making him sigh.
He cocks an eyebrow at you. "I know. But who says we gotta stay all night?" At this, you raise up from your mopey position. "We make an appearance, talk to Sam for a little while, then get lost in the crowd and disappear. He won't even notice."
You hum thoughtfully. "Good point." You swing your legs over the bed and slip into your Converse shoes, plastering a smile to your face and gleefully skipping due to the fact you'll get to leave early.
Sam was having a reunion party with some buddies from his Afghanistan tours. It was a huge event downtown, but neither you nor Bucky was a big fan of crowds. So the two of you only considered going in support of Sam.
Bucky stopped on the apartment complex's steps, narrowing his eyes at an empty parking spot. "He took my bike."
You snorted. "Cab it is."
________
Shortly you arrive at the event and he opens the cab door for you, his knuckles grazing down your arm to catch your hand in his. The action sends a shudder through your body and he smirks, stopping to give you a scheming look.
"What?" you ask him, furrowing your eyebrows and squeezing his hand.
"Nothing," he simpers.
You decide to be suspicious of him for the rest of the evening.
There are a plethora of people but you both advance through the crowd in search of Sam, Bucky stopping you to point out that Sam is quite preoccupied. He nudges you towards the most empty table he can find so you can sit down. On either side of you both is an empty seat, and the rest of the chairs are filled by half-drunk, burly men sporting drinks.
One of them turns to you and introduces himself and his comrades. A few of them take quick note of Bucky's name, quoting something Sam has mentioned about him before then thanking Bucky for his service. You wrap your arm around his middle and look up at him with pride, nuzzling yourself closer to your soldier.
You're both quiet as the vets around you continue their chatter about their best times, their laughter making the atmosphere light. You have to admit, you might actually be enjoying yourself. You're lost in a story about a guy teaching his kid how to hot wire a car when a hand squeezes your thigh.
Your knee immediately jerks and hits the table and you have to bite your bottom lip to stifle a yelp. A few heads turn in your direction and as you feel the warmth spreading to your face, you feign a sneeze, apologizing for the interruption. Bucky remains dead panned, although the sides of his mouth subtly quirk up. You glare at him. "Bless you, sweetheart," he patronizes. You shift uncomfortably as the men return to their conversations.
His hand makes its way back to your thigh and you inhale sharply through your nose. "Bucky," you whimper, swallowing hard.
"Gotta keep quiet for me, doll, or I'll stop," he tuts lowly. Instinctively you spread your legs a little to make enough room for his hand. Your breath hitches as he circles your clit with his middle finger, lightly tracing down your clothed mound. You curse yourself for wearing jeans, because the thickness of the denim heavily affects the way he feels against you.
But you want more.
He presses harder until Sam struts over to the table, and Bucky innocuously throws his arm around your shoulder. You huff in frustration and he chuckles.
"Surprised you two haven't left yet," Sam laughs, sipping a beer and slapping a hand over Bucky's shoulder.
"Why would we do that?" Bucky asks sarcastically.
Sam rolls his eyes playfully. "Stay awhile, enjoy the sunset and have a drink. They're all on the house." You both pause in thought. "I knew that would convince you!"
"Well," you start. "The sky is gorgeous right now. Maybe just one drink till the sun sets."
Someone then calls for Sam and he excuses himself, telling you he'll see you back at home later. You watch him disappear into the crowd, reality hitting you that you're still worked up from Bucky's teasing. And all it takes is a devious look from him to get you riled up again. You shoot up from your seat to thank the vets around you for their service, and tell them that it was nice to meet them, but you have some personal matters to attend to at home. Bucky follows suit, grabbing your hand.
You try to push your way through the crowd without an obvious, horny spring in your step, and as you pass by a table, Bucky fishes a beer with his free hand without stopping.
"I'll call the cab back here and we can-"
"No."
"What?" You stop in your tracks and Bucky lets go of you, continuing to walk to where his motorcycle is parked. He beckons you over with a crooked finger as he mounts the bike, and you fold your arms over your chest, cocking an eyebrow.
"What? It's not like he'll be able to drive tonight anyway." He foots the kick stand, placing his beer in the back compartment then bringing his hands up to twist around the handlebars. "Come on, let's go watch the sunset."
"The-the sunset?" You ask incredulously.
"What? You said it was pretty, let's go get a closer look." Your eye twitches at his feigned ignorance.
"Bucky I swear to god if you don't take me right now-"
He grins. "Then I just won't take you at all." He revs the engine once to accentuate his threat and you groan. "Come on or I'll leave you."
"Fine."
You march over to him and swing your leg over the bike, nestling yourself into his back and situating your hands on top of his shoulders. The engine roars to life, the heads of onlookers catching your eye and in one swift motion he kicks it into gear and you're off.
The winds whips your hair and licks at your face, causing you to constantly tear it away from your eyes. Once free, you take in the view before you, ever amazed at how the sun sets on the water; the sky glows with an orange and pink hue, making it look like a painting. And for a moment you forget about your throbbing lower half until you shift to get a little more comfortable on the seat and oh. Oh.
Your hands impulsively tighten around his shoulders and your jaw goes slack, gasping as the vibration from the motorcycle hits just the right spot. You let out a light moan and no sooner clap a hand over your mouth, hoping Bucky hasn't heard you. Your head slumps forward on his back.
"You good back there?" He yells over his shoulder.
"Y-yeah! Uh-all good!" you wheeze, attempting not to sound too out of sorts. The street is bare as he stops at a red light, and you try to breathe so as not to let the pleasure overtake you. It's not that you don't want to let go, it's just that you know you'll never hear the end of it from him of you do.
When the light turns green, he revs the engine so many times you lose count. Your mind is swirling in ecstacy and you start to pant faster, clinging onto Bucky for dear life as you near your release.
You screw your eyes shut, the coil finally snapping while you bite down harshly on the shoulder of his leather jacket. By this point you're unabashedly gasping and moaning, your hips bucking wildly into the seat as your clit is overstimulated to the point it hurts.
You pray for the ride to your apartment to end while he speeds up, causing you to sob into the waves of pleasure the vibrations are granting you. You claw mindlessly at his torso until he finally slows to a stop, and you catch your breath to come to your senses. You can't help the nagging, coherent thought that the ride home had taken a lot longer than usual and you realize the sky is now completely black and littered with stars.
He knew. That fucker knew.
Bucky dismounts the vehicle and stands before you with a hand on his hip and a smug demeanor. You lean forward on your hands, still heaving to try and even out your breath.
"Enjoy the ride?" Bucky taunts, flat lining his lips.
"Fuck-" pant  "-you," you nearly spit. He chuckles darkly. "You were edging me, with a goddamn motorcycle."
He scratches the back of his head. "I might have added a little extra something just for you."
You raise your head. "Why don't we go upstairs and you let me get my revenge?"
He huffs. "What's the point? You already came all over my seat."
"It wasn't your cock," you retort, untangling your wobbly legs from the bike. Bucky reaches out to steady you, pulling you to him by your waist.
"Fair point, pretty girl."

NSFW Alphabet - Yang Jeongin (m)
Tumblr media
A - Aftercare
Despite being on the more inexperienced side, I think Jeongin is responsible enough to know that aftercare is a must following sex, whether it be making sure you both are properly hydrated or helping you change the bed sheets. Because he’s usually babied by his members, this sweet boy treasures each moment he’s able to take care of you for a change though he won’t say no if you request to be the bigger spoon for a night or two.
B - Body Part
Seeing as our dear maknae has apparently gotten buff somewhere over the years, he likely takes pride in his biceps and arms in general as he damn well should. We’ll go more in depth about it later, but let’s just say Innie likes to use his strength in more ways than one… Moving on, Jeongin will never not be a fan of your neck. Mans has a bit of a marking tendency, but hormones aside, Jeongin’s in love with your scent, which seems to be more pungent around thah area. Plus, the crook of your neck also makes a good hiding place when he’s shy.
C - Cum
The only place this man’s cumming is in a condom. He may not be a baby anymore, but he doesn’t want any other baby Jeongins showing up anytime soon. Changbin is already a handful enough as it is…
D - Dirty Secret
Now it’s a bit out of the element here, but Jeongin sometimes gets tired of being coddled by his members. That being said, he’s had some fantasies about proving his growness—fantasies that may or may not include getting caught eating you out until you’re a literal puddle by Chan or Hyunjin, or maybe fucking you into the wall just in time for Changbin or Seungmin to walk through the door. Not wanting to disrespect you or anything, he prefers to keep these thoughts to himself… just don’t ask questions if he starts to get a little handsy during movie nights with the other boys.
E - Experience
Like most of the younger Stray Kids members, I don’t think he has too much sexual experience. He’s probably made out with a girl or two over the years, maybe felt her up a bit, but that’s as far as his hands-on exploration goes. Even so, he probably has a general idea of how things are supposed to go, generously provided by stories from his members and the wonders of porn.
F - Favorite Position
Due to his lack of sexual practice, Jeongin probably has not found his all-time favorite position just yet. He’s eager to try everything he possibly can, so expect to be blown away literally every time y’all do the do.
G - Goofy
Jeongin doesn’t mind getting a little silly during sex every once and a while, but he also knows that a more sensual, serious mood is needed too. The first few times will definitely be more casual and light-hearted, kept alive by his playful grin and mischevious fingers. But even as you two begin to become more mature, that same youthful atmosphere will remain, making it feel like the first time every time.
H - Hair
He probably just lets it do it’s own thing honestly. As long as it doesn’t get too unruly, he doesn’t mind it all that much.
I - Intimacy
Seeing he’s likely never been in a serious relationship before you, he’s all about the ideal, romantic aspect of love making. And while there won’t necessarily be rose petals and silk sheets every time you guys have sex, he knows how to make you feel loved and wanted with just his touch alone. Eye contact is also a huge must for Jeongin—he needs to see your face in the moment, to watch the pleasure overtake your body as he brings you to a headspace only few have the privilege to witness. It may sound cheesy, but I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if he has a secret plan to marry you one day, already knowing you’re his forever person.
J - Jack Off
Innie is young, so it’s no surprise his hormones are a bit on the overwhelming side at times. For him, getting off largely depends on if and when he has a moment to himself, which is quite rare between his busy schedule and lack of privacy in the dorm. That being said, he probably masturbates no more than three times a week. If that.
K - Kink
Alright hoes, I’m gonna start this off by saying Jeongin damn well has some sort of strength kink. We’ve all seen the size of those arms. Now he wouldn’t necessarily manhandle you, but if the moment requires him to pick you up by your thighs, or maybe pin your wrists to the bed cause you’re getting a little too frisky, then a man’s gotta do what he’s gotta do. He also has a HUGE thing when you get all dressed up for him, whether it be in a dress/suit or a lingerie set. Some other honorable mentions of his include marking, praise, and the occasional teasing.
L - Location
Please, please, PLEASE let this man take you against the wall, or anywhere that lets him show off his strength. He turns into some type of beast, I swear—Bonus points if y’all have the dorm to yourselves, because then he will literally take you against every single surface…
M - Motivation
The second you compliment him, this man will be literal putty in your hands. He loves, and I mean LOVES, when you praise him for his stage performances or MV scenes. And don’t let him catch you watching his fancams… or else prepared to get dicked into next year~
N - NO
BDSM is completely off the table for Jeongin. While he doesn’t mind trying something new every so often, he’s just not comfortable treading into the kind of intense territory that would require use of a safe word. He’s also just not a fan of power dynamics in general.
O - Oral
Sorry fam, oral is just not it for Jeongin. It’s nothing against you, he just doesn’t prefer blow jobs because of his tendency to finish too early, and he’d much rather practice other methods of foreplay to get you both off.
P - Pace
In the beginning stages of your relationship, Innie used to utilize a rapid, sloppy pace. After obtaining more experience, his stroke game is much, much better and more fluid, though he sometimes tends to revert back to an awkward pace when he’s close to climax. But like everyone, his skill and confidence will grow more over time.
Q - Quickie
The only time he’ll settle for a quickie is if he’s completely and totally desperate for your touch. But even then, he needs to be sure your session will take place in an environment that is both private and isolated from any other people. But once he’s comfortable and secure, he’ll drive you into the nearest wall with no further hesitation whatsoever.
R - Risk
Nope, nope, nopity, nope. While the idea of getting caught makes him feel all the things, Jeongin would rather not risk anyone actually walking in on you two when you’re being less than innocent. Especially his members, because if they do, he knows he’ll never hear the end of it.
S - Stamina
He’s got pretty decent stamina. Jeongin can usually go for some foreplay and maybe two rounds depending on how exhausted he is from his schedule. Then again, on days he is a bit more on the tired side, he wouldn’t mind sitting back and letting you do most the work.
T - Toy
The most curious boy omg. Innie’s experience with toys probably stems from porn and the dark side of Reddit, so he’ll be utterly fascinated if you own any nifty gadgets of your own. And while I don’t think he’d actively shop for sex toys, he doesn’t mind spicing things up in the bedroom with a couple vibrators, restraints, or sensation play objects.
U - Unfair
Don’t let his adorable facade fool you—this boy can be the WORST tease on any given day. He’s the type of lover that will suggestively trail his hands across your breasts and thighs, then act all innocent when you call him out. Jeongin is also an expert in getting you to tell him what he wants to hear. For example, “You want me to make you cum, baby? How exactly do you want me to do that?…”
V - Volume
Honestly, this man is a moaning machine. And you may hear some cute little whimpers and whines in that mix too… At first, he was probably a bit bashful to make any noise in that context, but after some coaxing and needed praise from you, he’ll never try to be silent again.
W - Wild Card
Let me set the scene for you: You and Innie watching some horribly budgeted rom-com you found on Netflix, and literally just making fun of the entire movie. That is, until the two main leads start making out in the back of a car. Oh, this shuts you both right up, especially when clothes start coming off and the car windows begin to steam up. The scene ends eventually, but this awkward, sexually tense silence still remains between you and Jeongin, and when you look to your blushing lover, you find him poorly attempting to cover his raging hard on. Then, he clears his throat and cutely stutters, “S-So… You wanna… you know?…”
X - X-ray
He’s a bit below average: 4.5-5 inches. But he’s got some thickness to his name.
Y - Yearning
As already mentioned, Innie tends to hold back in regards to his sexual needs for fear of coming across as a horn dog. You two probably do the nasty at least once a week, but I guarantee you can raise that number if you sit your boyfriend down and explain the concept of a mutually beneficial relationship huehuehue.
Z - ZZZzzz
If there’s one thing that Jeongin loves most in the world, it’s being in your arms after a long and stressful day. Whether or not you choose to end the night with an orgasm or two, he’ll settle himself atop your body, using your breasts as his own personal pillows, and just let his tension melt away in the comforting warmth of your touch. And though he’d never admit it, sometimes he doesn’t really mind being babied after all…

a friendly face
a lil one inspired from seeing the recent interviews abt cherry - yes im a couple days late but am very slow. This is basically stolen and adapted from another of my stories so I don't think there's any bits left over by my dyslexic proof reading isnt that great so apologies!!! very speech heavy so sorry am trying to balance my writing more
Summary: Tom is having a hard time filming Cherry and dealing with the emotional baggage of it, so Harry recruits someone to make everything that little bit better.
tomhollandxreader
fluff and a little angst I guess?
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Harry, Tom and their driver Sian where all sitting in the car having left the set 20 minutes ago, heading back to their accommodation. Or more precisely, Harry and Sian sat in the two front seats- Harry only in the front as to allow Tom to lie down across the three back seats. He was asleep, or at least looked asleep, but Harry knowing his brother so well knew he was just wishing he was. The day had been torturous for Tom, they’d been filming a hospital sequence in which his character was heart broken. The sequence had involved him being thrown onto the floor multiple times, by a heavy handed stunt double who was not nearly as precise as those he’d worked with at ‘marvel’. Furthermore, there was also multiple scenes of him having to properly cry on camera, which although it sounds tame, is one of the hardest things you can ever ask an actor to do. At least, someone who commits half as much as Tom. For him to show that emotion, he had to go back to a place in his life where he didn’t really ever want to venture again. But even then, this character was such a fuck up, he had to do deeper.  He felt completely drained, emotionless and cold. But he couldn’t sleep, not for the guilt he felt for being short with everyone on set- he had never been like that before, he just felt like no one was respecting or understanding what he was going through. So instead he just lay on his side, facing the backs of the leather seats, arms folded in stubbornness- even if he had no idea why.
“Tom?…Tom, I know you’re awake… Look, we need to make a quick stop. You gotta come out.” Harry was actually slightly nervous his brother would just point blank refuse, even if he needed this so bad.
“I just need to get back to the apartment. Please Harry. Can’t we do it tommorrow?” The desperation dripping off Tom’s voice actually pained Harry to listen to. He knew Tom was having a crisis about how he treated everyone today, so chose to ignore his please in favour of some assurance.
“You know everyone understands… They just kept asking me if you were alright?” Harry could see the guilt radiating off Tom. It hurt him to see his big brother like this.
“Please… I just need to get back” His small voice barely made it to the front of the car, but Harry heard it all.
“It will take 2 minutes tops, I had a delivery but I need a hand carrying it, come on” Harry spoke as Sian turned on the indicator to pulled up next to the sidewalkpavement; the car slowing to a gentle halt. Tom didn’t reply, instead huffing as he used the head rest of the middle seat to pull himself up. Already out the car, Harry opened the door for him waiting patiently, because Harry knew he would be a hundred times better off in just a few moments.
“What the hell have you even ordered that’s so big?” Tom sighed while ducking through the door into the cold Cleveland air, keeping his eyes on the sidewalk as Harry motioned for him to follow his feet.
“Oh um don’t know, a good friend sent it actually” Harry tried to hide the grin that was spread over his face from showing in his voice, as he saw a very familiar head of hair running toward them.
“What friend?” Tom looked up sassily toward Harry, shortly questioning who would send Harry a parcel from England that was too big to be delivered or carried by himself. Only then, nearly 5 metres away from Sian in the car, did Tom look up to see where they were. It wasn’t the nearest post office or delivery warehouse - they were at the airport. “Harry what’s going on?” Tom questioned with a low and warning voice, skipping a step or two in order to catch up with his younger brother.
“We’re collecting her” Harry smiled as he nodded forward. Following his gaze with eyes wide open, Tom turned forward just in time to see Y/h/c  flying over his face as he was engulfed by someones arms. Immediately sensing exactly who this was, Tom did not hesitate to wrap his arms around your waist and push his head into your neck. Smelling the familiar perfume, Tom couldn’t help but scoff, allowing a the jerky breath to leave his lungs as you arched away from the hug, cupping Tom’s face with both her hands.
“I’ve been reliably informed you could use a friendly face” you smiled, noticing his raw emotions threatening to overtake him, so swiftly pressing just pressing your lips onto his. Seemingly frightened to move, Tom barely reacted to the kiss, so you pushed and deepened into it a little more- till you felt him relaxing against you. With that, you arched away again and smiled massaging his stubbly hair behind his left ear.
“How are you here?” He croaked staring deeply at her, switching between her left and right eye as if that somehow would confirm that this was real, not some cruel dream he was having.
“Someone somewhere knew you were in need and bought me a plane ticket over… I’m coming home with you on monday” You grinned while  watching Tom’s eyes light up, he leaned in again to your lips instead of replying.
“Er-cuh-huh” Harry loudly cleared his throat, causing the two to pull away from each other. “Sorry to interrupt, but Sian isn’t really allowed to stop there long sooo” They both nodded, before Tom lunged at his brother, holding him close and whispering thanks too. It was clear this was at least partly Harry’s doing, and he could never thank his brother enough.
“Umm.. as much as I’m enjoying this brotherly love we really do have to get back in the car” Harry awkwardly spoke as he almost pushed Tom off him.
“Awww my favourite little brother being all mature” You giggled, taking your turn to hug Harry, admittedly a little shorter than Tom’s, but still with lots of gratitude.
“Please get stop loving me and get back into the car!” Harry yelled as he stormed off to Sian, leaving both you and Tom in fits of laughter. Grasping each others hand simultaneously the laughter continued as you followed Harry down the street to the car.
Seeing you standing there; feeling your arms wrapped round his neck ; hearing your oh so sweet voice had Tom feeling…. Feeling lighter. It was as though your mere presence gave him the strength to carry all the things that were previously weighing him down like a truck. What was extraordinary though, was how it wasn’t just psychological. He literally felt his joints feel looser, he felt his body flood with warmth and he felt his heart calming down. When you’d first been getting close to each you’d had rather the opposite effect. Which was surprising because that was at the point Tom had never felt more confident - he had just returned form a avengers press tour, where naturally everyone had just loved him and played up to his every whim. He had legions of girls, some of them drop dead gorgeous where falling at his feet. And yet, when he met you it was as though he was transported back into his incredibly awkward teenage years. It was infuriating, he knew he could act cool and unbothered and smooth however as soon as you stood informant of his it was like his mind melted, filling it with utter gibberish and garble. In fact, he was plainly floored by you - how kind and pure hearted you were, how respectful and how you found hhis jilted flirting adorable and not to forget how drop dead gorgeous you are.
It had taken a while and a hell of a lot of opening up, but over time he found the opposite happening. Your presence became something else entirely, not one that would put him on his toes and have his heart racing - more of a comfort. He slept better when you were beside him, his nerves never got the better of him if you were there to cheer him on. He could relax completely without any fear of judgement, any worry at all with you. What you had done is change the definition of something so fudemental and a given in life. You’d changed home from a place to something much more intangible. A person; a feeling; a connection. You were his home.
“Sian are we close?” You asked, turning your attention away from the two brothers annecdotes from filming, realising Sian must’ve been driving for about 30 minutes.
“Yep just the next right I think” Sian replied gently while turning the wheel as the indicator clicked.
“Where are we going?” Tom asked, looking first at you then pleadingly at Harry- knowing he had more of a chance with his brother.
“Well” You started and he whipped his head back round “I know it’s late and you’ve been working all day, but you have alater  10 o’clock call time tomorrow instead of 6, so this is the best night to do something. We found a driving range-with heaters” which was a very important factor since Cleveland was bloody freezing “- that we thought you’d like to play a game or two?” The massive smile in response meant you’d hit the nail on the head.
“And soz but I’m crashing the game otherwise- and no offence, but you would win waayyyy toooo easy Tom” Harry butted in and sniggered as he interrupted the lovey-dovey stares. You gasped at that in mock offence, holding your hand over your chest.
“Oi you, Paddy has been teaching on the Holland boys days out you both missed- I’ll have you know I now am aware that you have to get the ball into the hole, not a goal as previously thought.”
The boys both groaned in unison and Y/n wiggled her eyebrow grinning, elbowing Tom slightly in the side. “Things might have changed since you left you know?”
Yet another thing Tom loved so completely about you, was how effortlessly you had fitted into his family. Honestly, none of the Hollands could imagine life without you anymore - especially Nikki, who had quite literally attempted adopting you so she officially wasnt the only female in the immediate family. Sam used you as an expert taster for all his marvellous culinary creations (even if your judgement was always the same, it was very good); Dom often ended up picking your brains about your work, he found you ‘actual proper’ job as a doctor simply amazing , where all his family had never been especially acadmeically gifted; and Paddy just plain saw you as his older sister. So it was hardly surprising at all that when two of their actual kids flew across the world , you’d been the obvious placeholder. Yes, golf was most definitely your forte - but you were enthusiastic, with a positive (if flightily misguided) give it a go attitude.
The try-try-and-try-again attitude that never really worked … until Paddy taught you how to hit a clean drive.
“I am not joking, I am asking the lady at the desk there’s no way!”
“Tom you are the worst looser I have ever met! I didn’t cheat, I’ve just taken up a new hobby”
“There is no way Tom… no way she can get that good” Harry huffed as he ran straight past you to catch up with Tom, making sure that you did see the harsh glare he shot him. The outrage that Y/n had beaten them both at the driving range was way worse than anything you could’ve predicted- now you sort of were wishing you’d let them win. Oh wait…. Of course you weren’t  - this was priceless. Especially their faces when you’d launched your first ball super accurately inn the centre of the second furthest away target. They had reacted as if you had just stripped butt naked, you thought; standing their jaws hanging with a look of almost fear in their eyes.
“You could see the balls land with your own eyes! Practice makes perfect!”
“Thats not fair though! It took you like 8 weeks to be like that?”
“I mean you were obviously just taught by the wrong Holland, Paddy’s a  pretty good teacher!” You smiled as your trio turned the corner and walked through reception, seeing Harry desperate to ask the receptionist but Tom just looking over his shoulder to give a hurt look to at you.
“I’m going to ban you from being closer to my brothers than me”
“I can’t help if he’s cuter then you alright?” You smirked and raised an eyebrow, as Tom stopped in his tracks and turned to face you.
“That’s it… your gonna get it” he spoke in a low voice, with a mischievous look in his eye, abruptly he launched himself at you -  barely having  time to swerve away from him and start a sprint towards the exit, giggling as you took a glance back to see Tom chasing you out, Harry quickly in tow too.
“Your not allowed to beat me at golf!” In a jokey voice, you heard Tom yell, just as you reached the sleek black 4x4 and hurdling yourself into it.
“I’m in the car it’s a no fight zone!” You cowered in the corner, back pressed up against the opposite door and  arms crossed to make an ‘x’ sign in front of her body.
“That is not how it works” Tom and Harry grinned from the open door. As fast as lightning they both vaulted in and started tickling you, making you screech curses at the two of them.
“Alright alright kids, no fighting while I’m driving thats an order.” Sian calmly spoke, trying to hide the laughter from her voice, as the two men retreated and helped to pull you up from the position half on the floor that your squirming had gotten you to.
“Get off my leg Tom… arghhh… thanks Sian, I’m sorry they’re so moody, I just whipped their asses at golf”
“You’re here to make me feel better right? Not doing a good job so far” Tom’s snide remark meant you scrunched up your nose while plugging her seatbelt in, making sure to jab Tom’s side hard as you did so.
“How did I end up sandwiched in between you two twats then?” You grinned from the middle seat as Harry just rolled his eyes looking out the window, and Tom gave you a loving smile- not able to hide his relief of your presence.
“Think it’s about a 40 minute drive you gotta enjoy” Sian smiled looking at you via the rear view mirror, to which Tom couldn’t quite stifle the yawn that escaped.
After all he had done much more than the typical 9-5 hours work, and the golfing was an unexpected addition to the already long day. His excitement and just pure joy at having you here had made him forget about It all for a couple of hours - but now his exhaustion was catching up with him with a vengeance. Instinctively you wrapped you arm round Tom and in doing so pulled him into your side.
“Get some rest huh?” You whispered into his forehead, and all Tom could do was reply with a weary nod, letting his eyes slip close to the constant beat of Ally’s heart. You immediately sensed Tom was properly out of it, and contented yourself looking out his window for a few minutes,  before you felt something heavy briefly whack your other shoulder. Jumping a little at the contact, you looked round to see Harry’s head bobbing side to side in a light slumber. In the midst of worry for Tom, you hadn’t realised the kid had been doing the same long hours as him. Plus dealing with Tom and being Tom’s support, which surely took it out of him. Harry had always been ‘the most important brother’ in your eyes. Just because Tom trusts him so implicitly and completely, they had an understanding only real brothers could get to but also extended far beyond blood. When you’d first been introduced Harry had been colder to you. It wasn’t personal though, he just wanted to be sure on you and your intentions with Tom because as he well knew often when people saw Tom they didn’t just see an opportunity for love. It was an opportunity for a lifestyle, for fame, for relevance. Harry took a while before he trusted you but now you were miles and miles beyond that point. So now, being at a stage with Harry where he was phoning you to come and fly out to save Tom (and him too). It was not to be taken lightly.  Therefore, you gently pressed your hand to Harrys face and pushed him to lean against her other shoulder too- hoping to cure the dark circles under his eyes a little bit too.
You were quite content for the rest of the journey, feeling warmth radiate through your body as the two men breathed deeply and calmly either side of you. You sort of didn’t want the car journeyer to end - but sure enough it wasn’t long till Sian was pulling into the hotel entrance.
“Get you a girl that can do both, beat yo ass at golf and look after your family” Sian whispered as she handed the phone back to you, after having taken some of your favourite ever photos, the 2 boys asleep on your shoulders while you pulled a variety of different faces. Smiling back at Sian, you then sighed-knowing she had to wake the two up, given their exhaustion you didn’t really want to either.
“Boys…boys… hey let’s get you both into bed yeh?” You spoke softly, gently raising your shoulders in order to disturb them both. Harry’s head immediately shot up, his eyes puffy and half open, but a sheepish look on his face as he realised how he was sleeping. Just responding with a smile that said it was all okay, before  you turned her attention to Tom- forever stubborn to wake up, at least nothing had changed there.
“Come on Tom, can’t have you sleeping in the car all night” You pushed again, this time lifting Tom’s head, earning a very deep groan as his eyes slid open and he pushed against the movement. It was at this point Harry slammed the car door shut, making Tom jump out of his skin, you loosing the hope of any serene wakeup call. Rubbing Toms arm, relaxing the tension now present in his body you encouraged him once again. “Come on lets get inside mister”
His hotel room was exactly what you’d expect for an a-lister and lead actor in a million pound film. Large, modern, squeaky clean and posh. It was almost too big to be filled by one person though, Tom had always found it a bit cold and just not cosy - why he opted to spend the majority of his down time either fast alseep or in somebody else’s company. Both of those also stopped him getting too much in his head - or more accurately in his characters head. Cherry was a weird character and from interviewing all the veterans and lengthy discussion of his past, Tom almost felt as if he had in some small way experienced what Cherry had. Felt what Cherry did. Thought like Cherry did.
And that was a sure fire way to fuck yourself up.
Now, with you here in his room haphazardly digging through your case, if felt warmer. The cold but brilliant white lights seemed to have softened to a gently warm glow that bounced off your skin and made your figure look almost angelic to Tom. You were his home.
“What are you waiting for?” You mused while turning away from your (now) inside out suitcase, proudly carrying her pyjamas which you had found hidden at the bottom the whole time- not the most practical packing in the world. All the while Tom sat on his bed, back leaning against the headboard and arm bent behind his head too.
“Just thinking that I need to go through all the scenes for tomorrow” A monotonous tone laced his voice, for he knew he couldn’t spend the night the way he really wanted to, safely wrapped up with you.
“Oh… well let’s go through it together then hey? We will be done in no time; but if you want we can go over them again tomorrow morning.” It was a practical suggestion, a helpful action you could implement - even if you had a feeling Tom wouldn’t just agree. Since his lines clearly weren’t the only thing on his mind this evening.
“Yeh but everyone on set is already sick of me after today… I can’t be being shit as well as horrid” his voice was small as the memory of how he snapped at some of the extras had him cringing inwardly at himself. He shouldn’t have been that rude, shouldn’t have blurted it out, should of offered a solution rather than just critiquing.
“Hey would you kindly shut it? No one is sick of you, everyone is just ready for christmas and missing their families. Now get changed” Your soft tone turning into an imperative order, as you threw his pyjama bottoms at the him, smashing into his face before falling into his lap.
“Oi” he shouted, but followed instructions and stood up reaching round to pull his hoodie off. Stood shirtless, his side was exposed to the now changed you, the sight making you gasp and clamber over the bed to gently touch Tom’s back. You followed the outline of an impressive patch of bruising, stretching from the bottom edge of his shoulder blade all the way to his hip.
“Tom, what the hell happened?” Whispering in fear, Tom turned round to face you, seeing your eyes watering up as you kept glancing at his back. He was littered in a variety of purple, yellow and slightly green marks on the whole of his left flank. It looked like a minor crush injury, not something a pampered actor gets after a day of filming infront of tens of people including an onset medic and health and safety risk assessor.
“What?” Tom asked before turning to the mirror and looking back over his shoulder to see the bruises for himself. He hadn’t expected the ache to look that bad. “oh - I - er… Today the scene, I get smashed to the floor by someone and I kept doing it wrong so we had to do it lots I guess.” He looked away and down at your feet, not being able to meet his girlfriends eyes suddenly. You just nodded, trying to blink back the tears-  he had truly been broken by this role both physically and now mentally- he hadn’t even put a stop to the constant and clearly severe pain.
“Put your stuff on” your  voice was muted, as you waited for Tom to get prepared. He turned around again and then replaced his trousers and quickly pulled a top on to hide the marks, suddenly embarrassed. In the silence the sound of his clothes dropping to the floor, then of him sitting on the bed again- throwing his legs over so now he mirrored your position - the sounds were pretty defeaning.
“I love you so much….” Barely whispering, you suddenly ripped the duvet out from under you both holding it over you as you swung a leg over Tom so you straddled him, slightly leaning over him and letting the blanket rest on top of your back.In your position you looked down in an almost scary way to his warm brown eyes. Tom swore you were literally reading his thoughts, your intense gaze absolutely crumbling any walls he thought he’d be able to hold up. Pressing a gentle peck to his lips you then whispered onto his lips, letting him feel your words as well as hear them. “ …So that’s why we are going to sleep right now and you can worry about all of that tomorrow”
“Y/n I-“
“Your safe with me.” You were not standing for his nexuses and arguments, as you slid down his body - ending with your head resting on his chest, you legs tangled with his. Once you’re properly rested you’ll learn them ten times faster than what you can now… Before you get ill I am telling you to take a break. I’m not going to let you not. So relax and-….Tom?” Ending with a whisper, you delicately lifted your head off his slowly rising chest to see your broken boyfriend already asleep; lips parted as soft snores crept through the silence. In reality as soon as you’d said that he was safe the exhaustion had completely over taken him. Desperately needing to recharge his batteries, no matter how much he had wanted to stay up and work late it could never really happen - at this point physically impossible.
“Sleep well Tom” she smiled, planting a kiss on his cheek with a sad smile.
///////////////////////////////////////////
The next day rolled around all too quickly, but the morning was much better than any of the past couple of months because you were together. Tom, having had a solid 7 hours of sleep compared to his normal 5, was for once ready for the day. He’d gone through the script with a certain someones help in record time, and now the three were just pulling up at the set.
“You’ve been awful quiet this car ride…” you grinned as she clasped Tom’s hand across the empty seat, making Harry turn around and give you a warning glance. Oops. In a moment where Tom went to the loo at breakfast, Harry had fully disclosed everything that had happened on set yesterday- especially the  burst of anger. So naturally, Tom was feeling nervous and scared to face everyone.
“It will be fine I promise… and if not tell them I’m your personal body guard- no one will be rude to you if me and Harry are ready to attack” Tom let out a breathy nervous laugh, only then meeting your eyes.
“ A fly wouldn’t be threatened by you two. Harry would just take a photo while you’d check their pulse or something”
“Errrm” Harry furrowed his eyebrows as he contorted round from the front seat so Tom could see his disapproving look, meanwhile Tom was dodging your affectionate fake-slaps.
“Children we’re here” Sian sighed as she brought the car to a steady halt “and if you could get through the day without killing each other I’d appreciate it, otherwise I’m out of the job”
“Not promising anything when I’ve got these pair to deal with” Tom grinned as he opened the car door, before anyone else could retaliate. You laughed before quickly following suit, joining Tom at the front of the car and interlocking your fingers with Tom’s. Hesitating for a moment Harry took a second before unplugging and leaning for the door handle.
“You see what I mean?” Turning his head to look at Sian “It’s sickening how happy they are.”
“Yeh but your glad about it don’t lie” she grinned, before practically shooing the poor boy out her car.
“But dont tell them!” Shouting in reply, as the car was already pulling out.
Tom’s body seemed to tense more the closer you walked to the crew tent, you could feel the way he squeezed his shoulders back and his jaw tensed and untensed. There was little you could do apart from squeezing his hand that little bit tighter - further reiterating the fact you would always always be in his corner. Perhaps the most telling about Tom’s own character was how truly guilty he felt for the way he was with the crew. Normally, he was one of the most down to earth actors around - no trace of an ego or superiority complex. It didn’t matter if you were a cleaner or head of a multimillion dollar studio, Tom would pay both the same amount of respect. He always out that completely down to his upbringing and mum and dad, but even that was being humble. He was just a good person to the core, no one saw that more than you either. It’s part of love, you see the good and the bad parts of a person and promise to unashamedly love them all.
Just before you both had made it into the main tent, Tom was pulled away. “Oh Tom we wanted to talk to you about yesterday!” The familiar voice of Joe Russo called, as he and Anthony  ran up to Tom from his left, giving a little nod of greeting to the actor, before falling in step with him.
“Morning, I-uh I wanted to apologise actually-“Tom was cut off while you hung back off to his right, not wanting to intrude on this conversation.
“No we should. The team were all being slow yesterday, and they were making some hard scenes harder on you. We really appreciate what you are putting yourself through for the sake of the film.”
“But still I acted like a brat and I’m sorry”
“Tom” Anthony spoke up for the first time. He was a man of limited words- but whenever he spoke everyone listened. “ You are one of the best, most-dedicated actors we’ve ever worked with. We’re all overtired, run down and ready for the holidays. You’re missing your family too. It’s already forgotten… So let’s just get on with the movie?” Tom smiled, pressing his lips together to stop their kindness overtaking his emotions. Tom always felt safe with the Russo’s. They’d dealt with him when he really just was a kid actor - overwhelmed and without a clue what was happening. They’d dealt with hiM adjusting to fame and the much bigger part Marvel seemed to want him to play in the future. They trusted him with this, most incredibly complex and also personal film for them. So when they spoke and they said it didn’t matter, Tom was much more likely to agree.  Then proceeded the bro-hugs, as the men all showed they were good with each other.
“Well lets make a motherfucking movie!” Tom exclaimed once they broke the hug and the brothers laughed at him. “Oh where-d….” He muttered as he looked round before meeting your eyes, still standing rather awkwardly a couple of meters behind them. “ Joe, Anthony you remember Y/n?” Nodding and smiling the brothers beckoned you over; both greeting you with a warm handshake.
“Good to see you again!” You grinned and the directors responded nodding.
“We didn’t know you were coming! I would’ve made a list of all my doctor question for you.” Joe winked, knowing your pet-peeve was people asking you all their gory body questions as soon as they found out she was a doctor. You didn’t need to know about you dentists acid reflux issue, you didn’t need to know about your granny’s friend’s constipation, and you really really didn’t need to know about an old friends erectile dysfunction.
“Ha ha ha “ You rolled your eyes sarcastically “ and no it was a bit of a spontaneous trip, I just landed last night.” Throughout the whole of the exchange Anthony had taken an aloof stance, just  observing you and Tom. Observing the bright smile Tom gave you, even when you were simply making small talk. The way he looked so much healthier, well rested and just happy, in the space of a single evening.
“I’m glad you’re here” Anthony basically interrupted the conversation, addressing you then immediately turning on his heel towards the set.
“Uhh right- get to make up we’ll call a cast meeting in a bit” Joe stammered, giving his brother a funny look before addressing Tom “ and we’ll have to have a proper catch up later.” You nodded in response, as Joe turned and did a half jog to catch up with his brother.
“That was weird!?” You frowned as you looked up at Tom. He explained the encounter in rather simplistic terms.
“That was Anthony.”
The morning was spent with Tom doing what he does best in front of the camera. They were shooting a larger scene for the army section of the movie, with at least 100 actual soldiers as extras, all geared up in full camo outfits. It was impressive, but also gave you a chance to meet Ciara - you’d been dying to meet her since Tom told you what a laugh she was. Fair to say you weren’t disappointed at all, you guys hitting it off instantly and you going as far as giving Ciara some embarrassing Tom stories that she could wind him up with in the future. Of course though, the main attraction was seeing Tom act first hand. Every time it astounded you, even though you knew that face so completely, in all his movies he fully had you believing he was someone else. It was mesmerising and you couldn’t be any prouder.
“You’re amazing! I seriously forgot how good you are!” You ran over as Joe Russo called cut to the end of the morning shoot.
“Well er thanks I guess” Tom furrowed his eyebrows as you wrapped him in a hug. He’d just canned a pretty hard scene and everyone was more than ready for a lunch break. You’s been watching from behind the cameras with Harry the whole time, after Tom gave you permission to sit in his special set chair.
“Seriously I’m very…. “ Her speech broken with an impressive yawn “….very proud of you.” In thanks Tom gave you a kiss first to your nose and then lips.
“I take it someones not adapting to jet lag?” He chuckled as he pulled away and cupped your face in his hands.
“Which I’m totally ashamed about considering I work night shifts… my body clocks supposed to be better than this” Angrily, you vented, frustrated at your own body when all you wanted to do was stays within reaching distance of Tom. Even if Tom had had the best sleep of this whole shoot last night, you’d been to over excited and enthralled just absorbing every little thing about him that you’d missed so much that you’d been wide awake the majority of the night. If you blamed you fatigue on jet lag alone, it would be an impressive lie.
“Go take a nap in my trailer… Harry can you take her?”
“Yes master” Harry bowed down and wobbled his head sarcastically, making you giggle.
“At least this way you get a break from him” You grinned to Tom’s brother, which Harry could only agree with. Giving Tom a parting kiss , you followed Harry away from set. It was at this point that Anthony excused himself from the monitors reviewing the footage, and approached Tom.
“Kid… that was great that scene.”
“Thanks mate, means a lot” Getting his directors approval forever reassured Tom, letting him relax his shoulders a bit as he nodded gratefully to Anthony.
“Well it’s just truth… so your girlfriend, Y/n right?”
“Yeh that’s her” Tom nodded, suddenly a little concerned as to where Anthony was going with this. You had met the Russo’s a number of times, and it never before seemed as though Anthony had an issue with you- at least to Tom’s knowledge.
“Right well um… you know how I don’t really get involved in all this stuff…” Tom nodded, folding his arms apprehensively. “But I just thought I should say that she’s really good for you.” Tom silently breathed a sigh of relief and waited for Anthony to get to the point. “Joe told me you had a rough patch at the beginning of the year so… I don’t know our industry is hard. And harder for you and her in the spotlight… Just seeing you with her today…Don’t be afraid to take the next steps with her…Don’t let her get away.” Tom was stunned to say the least. Anthony is the last person he had ever expected to get relationship advice from.
“I um yeh… I don’t know I hadn’t really thought about it. I mean we’ve been together for 2 and a bit years, well including the break… she means the world to me-“
“Well don’t waste it”
And that was the end of the conversation. Anthony turned to his trailer to get lunch and Tom just stood, replaying the conversation in his head. Weird to say the least.
But it did get the cogs turning. It did get Tom really seriously considering his future. Or rather considering your future together.
And that was for certain. It was you and him, always.

May I Have This Dance? PART 2 (Sal Fisher x Reader)
 Link to Part 1
Summary: After you confront Ash on your crush on Sal, she takes you to some friends who she believes to have good advice on what you should do. Meanwhile Sal is trying to work up the courage to asking you out.
Warnings: Swearing, possible mentions of drug use, slight angst?
It had been a few days after your conversation with Ashley, that day she had taken you to go meet up with Maple and Chug, who were somehow excellent advice givers. Not only that, but they knew how to keep a secret too, you weren’t too trustful of them at first, but after a couple of days with their lips sealed, you started to trust them a bit more.
So there you were sitting in your apartment with Ash, your mom was out getting groceries, so it gave you two some time to try and plan out how to ask Sal to the prom. Little did you two know that Larry and Sal were doing the exact same thing on the fourth floor in Sals room.
“I was thinking of either wearing this purple dress I have, or a green one.” Ash commented as she messed with her polaroid camera.
“I think the purple would really compliment your eyes.” Ash smiled at your feedback and nodded her head in agreement.
“What do you think Larry, Todd, and Sal are doing?” She questioned, getting up and sitting beside you at your desk and taking a look at what you were writing.
You have been spending almost the whole day writing down ideas on how to ask out Sal, but everything that came to mind just sounded either cheesy, dumb, or both.
“Probably playing some video game on Sals gear boy.” You responded, sitting next to Sal and watching over his shoulder as he attempted to beat a video game was one of your favorite things to do, you found it adorable how he celebrated every time he beat a level.
“Speaking of Sal, these ideas of yours are starting to get pretty creative!” Ash took the paper you had been scribbling on from the desk and started to read what you had been writing.
Quickly, you snatched the paper back, even though you appreciated the compliment, you couldn’t help but imagine every way Sal could turn down every idea you came up with.
Sal stood in front of a mirror in Larrys room, messing with his hair and thinking of how he’d style it for prom.
“You should do a bun, I heard a lot of people find those attractive.” Larry commented from somewhere in the room, he himself was occupying his time with a painting he was working on.
“Nah dude.” He let his hair fall to his shoulders as he removed his pigtails, messing with the blue strands in his face.
“They’ll probably like your hair regardless what it looks like! If you wanna go with something mature then maybe you should just wear your hair down.” He continued to suggest from his easel.
“Yeah maybe,” he began, touching his prosthetic. “Larry, what if I want to kiss them?” That caught his attention real fast.
“Then do it bro! Nothings holding you back, unless of course they don’t want to.” He set his brush down and made his way over to the mirror, putting his hands on Sals shoulders.
“Yeah but.. They’ve never seen me without my prosthetic before, what if I scare them?” This was Sals usual nervous thoughts, always afraid of how his appearance would affect others.
“You’re not gonna scare them, trust me. You know (Y/N) better than that, they’ve gotta be the most kindest, and accepting person we know!” Larry tried to reassure his friend as Sal lowered his hand from his prosthetic, turning his gaze to his feet.
“I guess.” Deep down he knew Larry was right, but all the anxiety pent up inside just wouldn’t budge.
“The dance is in two days, you still have time to think of what you want to say to them.” And that’s all Sal thought of for the next two days, practicing in the mirror, even asking his dad for advice, which ended horribly since Henry was more proud of the fact that Sal wanted to ask someone out rather than giving him advice.
“Mom, I have to get going soon.” You tried to exclaim as your mother snapped another photo of you in your prom dress, part of you was feeling disappointed that you never got to ask Sal to the dance, but he had been avoiding you for the past few days now.
In fact, you actually started to grow worried that somebody might’ve told Sal about your little crush on him, your bets were on Chug. You could see him somehow spilling the beans on accident and then immediately trying to take it back and playing it off as a joke.
“Oh just one more photo!” Your mother cheered, snapping you from your thoughts, but before your mother could continue on with her photo shoot, there was a knock at the door.
“Those are my friends, can I go now?” You asked in a more harsh tone, trying to hint that you were getting impatient. Honestly, your mother could probably fill a whole scrap book with the amount of photos she had taken of you.
“Oh, fine! Maybe I could get a picture with you and your friends though?” She attempted one last time to get a few more pictures out of you.
“Mom!” You whined as you stepped over to the door, opening it to see your dear friends, Larry, Ash, and Sal.
“Heya (Y/N)!” Ash chirpped, she was wearing that purple dress that she spoke of a couple days ago. Larry and Sal were both in suits, and even though Sal still wore that blank prosthetic mask, he looked nervous for some reason.
“Hey (Y/N), y- you look nice.” Sal spoke, and wanted to punch himself for stuttering. Larry nudged Sal lightly and did his best not to burst into laughter right there.
“Thanks Sal! You look lovely too, are we ready to go? Where’s Todd.” You questioned, looking around for that brainy friend of yours.
“He’s helping Chug out with his outfit, he’s kinda nervous since he wants to ask Maple out.” It was Sals turn to nudge Larry back and give him a look from behind his prosthetic.
“Dude! We weren’t supposed to tell anyone!” Ashley and you both laughed a little, and honestly it was because you both knew Chug liked Maple from the start.
“Trust us, our lips are sealed!” You commented, stepping out of her apartment and waving your mom behind before closing the door before she could come attack you four with her camera.
You and the others stepped out of the building into the night, Larry pulled some car keys out of his pocket and unlocked Lisa’s car, which wasn’t far.
“We’re taking your moms car? Please tell me she’s okay with this.” You asked Larry, he only laughed and patted your shoulder.
“Yeah, she’s completely chill with me using her car tonight as long as I don’t wreck it! Only problem is that one of the seats is unavailable, and there’s six of us.” Larry explained.
“I call shot gun then!” Ash shouted as she rushed to the car in heels, it amazed me how fast she could run in those, even if they weren’t that high.
Chug and Todd had made their way out of the apartment just as Ash got to the car, you could now see what Larry was talking about when he said Chug was nervous. The poor guy was sweating bullets.
“Two people are gonna have to sit in the trunk.” Larry continued to explain, and Todd immediately spoke up.
“Chug can’t sit in the trunk, this nervous wreck will throw up all over Lisa’s car.” Chug tried to protest, claiming he wasn’t nervous, but it was clear to everyone that he was.
“I don’t mind sitting in the trunk.” Sal finally spoke, he seemed less nervous than before has he proceeded towards the car.
“Well then it’s settled I guess, (Y/N) and Sal will sit in the trunk, Todd and Chug will sit in the back, and Ash and I will sit in the front!” Before you could even try and argue with him, Larry was following Sal to the car with Chug and Todd close behind.
Why would you even try to fight with him on this? Being stuck in a small space with Sal Fisher? It was the perfect moment to try and make a move, you supposed you just didn’t want the others to overhear you, or end up having Ash tease the both of you.
“So you decided to join me?” Sal joked as you climbed into the trunk and laughed.
“Guess so!” You sat beside him as Larry closed the trunk and got into the drivers seat, starting the car and putting on some heavy metal music. Nobody really seemed to complain since he was giving everyone a ride.
“How are you feeling, (Y/N)?” He continued to conversation as the car was too noisy for anyone else to hear the two of you.
“Fine I guess, a bit nervous.” He seemed to relate to that as he nodded and stared up at the ceiling of the car, the both of you sat side by side, with your hands dangerously close. His nails were painted black, his hand looked so soft and holdable.
“What are you so nervous about? We’re gonna have fun tonight.” He stated that with enough confidence that it almost felt like a fact.
Silence fell between the two of you as Larry’s metal music started to overtake the car, the sound of Todd reassuring Chug mixed into the ambiance of the car. Slowly, just ever so slowly, your hand creeped closer to Sals, your mind raced with thoughts both positive and negative, what if he pulled away? What if he held your hand? Before your hand could even touch his, Larry took a tight turn, and Sals body crashed into yours.
“Larry!” You could hear Ash yell from the front of the car, your head hit the floor of the trunk rather roughly.
“What!” Larry cackled as he continued to drive the car, the pain in your head instantly faded when you made eye contact with the blue haired boy on top of you in a rather intimate position.
“U- Uh- I- I’m so- so sorry (Y/N)!” He immediately sat up and pulled himself off you as you sat up yourself. Before you could try and say anything, Larry took another tight turn and this time you fell against Sals chest, his back colliding with the side of the trunk.
“Larry! Sal and (Y/N) are in the trunk without seatbelts! Could you be a bit more gentle on those turns!?” Todd spoke up this time, you were just praying he wouldn’t turn back and take a look at the two of you, now smushed together.
“S- Sal I’m sorry!” You could feel your face practically about to burst into flames as you tried to pull yourself up, and his hand wrapped around your wrist to help support you.
“I- It’s okay, it’s neither of our faults, just Larry’s reckless driving.” He chuckled off the tension between the two of you as the car started to come to a halt. Todd turned back in his seat as Chug exited the car.
“Hey, we’re here.” He stated bluntly before leaving the car. Larry opened the trunk for the two of you as the both of you climbed out, Sal gave Larry a punch on the shoulder.
With that, most of your friends vanished into the crowd of students you have known for a while, you stuck close to Larry and Sal though as you made your way into the schools gym, which was now decorated surprisngly nicely by your peers. Students were dancing, chatting, and overall having a nice time.
“Hey, hey (Y/N)!” Ash shouted over the music, she looked relieved that she finally found you. It had been almost an hour into prom, and you have just been standing to the side and dancing to some of your favorite songs. Maple had came by a few times to ask you about the Sal situation, but you didn’t have much to say to her. You just didn’t know how to approach him after that moment in the car.
“Yeah Ash?” You responded to her, you knew your voice was gonna be a bit soar after tonight, but who cared?
“I got the DJ to play a slow song after this one! You need to go find Sal!” Ash yelled to you, instantly your face heated back up almost similar to that moment in the car.
“Why would you do that!?” Now beginning to panic, Ash took you by the shoulders and looked you in the eyes.
“Because the both of you need to just get your shit together and dance!” And with that she pushed you off into the crowd to go find Sal.
Instead of finding Sal, you found Travis Phelps, school bully and your friend groups worst enemy. You couldn’t help but sometimes feel bad for the guy though, since you heard his dad was a preacher and he was always looking a little beat up. Travis gave you a disgusted look.
“Oh, it’s you, I overheard you and that bitch.” He sneered, you wanted to defend Ashley, but he went on. “Do you really think that freaks gonna wanna dance with you?”
“Shut up Travis, all you ever do is pick on us, I don’t understand what we did to deserve your cruelty!” You replied, clearly upsetted by his comment.
“Whatever, can’t wait to hear all about how Sally Face rejected you tonight!” His final remark made your heart sink, as you heard a familiar voice from behind you. Sal was standing there with Larry close behind, looking ready to beat the crap out of Travis.
Waves of embarrassment washed over you as Sal just seemed to blankly stare at you, was Travis right? Did he really not like you like that? You didn’t want to think about it, you did the only thing you could think of, which was to run away from the three of them and escape to the outside of the school.
You hated Travis for doing that to you, he let everything you worked so hard on just slip out right in front of Sal. Hot tears filled your eyes as you collapsed to your knees, attempting to frantically wipe your tears.
“Stupid, stupid..” You mumbled, the music from the gym had made its way outside the building now muffled though and more quiet, you always hated how loud school gatherings would play their music. As you attempted to contain yourself, you heard the door you exited from open and close, and a soft and gentle voice call out to you.
“(Y/N)?” Sal called, the sound of his shoes against the concrete floor rang in your ears as you lifted your head.
“Sal.. I’m sorry. I..” You were lost for words, what were you suppoed to tell him? Try and lie? Tell the truth? You soon snapped out of it again as you heard slow music begin to play from inside the gym, and Sal offered his hand out to you a bit hesitantly.
“(Y/N), may I have this dance?” Your heart sank as you quickly took his hand, he pulled you onto your feet and wrapped an arm around your waist, keeping his other hand entangled with yours.
The both of you were so close that you could hear him softly breathe against his prosthetic, your heartbeats were almost in sinc as he began to lead you passively with the song. His eyes remained on yours, and yours remained on his.
“Sal,” you began, he was all ears, “Do you like me?” He lightly laughed at your comment, which made you a bit nervous until he responded.
“(Y/N), I’ve had a crush on you for like, three years. I’ve been waiting for a moment like this since forever.” He spoke softly, you never knew that he could be this romantic, it made your heart just want to burst from your chest.
The song eventually ended, but Sal continued to hold you, slowly he untangled his hand with yours and touched the bottom of his prosthetic. You had always silently theorized what Sal may have looked like under his prosthetic, so excitement overcame you as Sal slowly lifted his prosthetic off his face.
“You’re.. A work of art.” The compliment escaped your lips before you could even process them, his cheeks grew deep red as he sheepishly smiled.
“Thank you, (Y/N), would you.. Or.. Could I um.. Kiss you?” He softly asked, of course you responded with a nod before pulling him into a light kiss. Sal instantly dropped his prosthetic and carressed the side of your face with his now free hand, you wrapped both your arms around his neck as he kissed you back lovingly and passionately.
When the two of you separated, you both were blushing messes, and lost for words. Your moment was at and end when you heard Larry open the door and call out for you two, Sal took your hand and gave you a caring smile.
“We should head back now, okay? Enjoy the rest of the night.”
A/N: Thanks to everyone who read this :) if you want more Sally Face content lmk!

Happy Easter! • single parents au
“I am not going out like this,” Percy drones from behind the bathroom door.
Annabeth leans against the doorframe with her arms crossed and rolls her eyes. “Percy, this was literally your idea.”
The door violently swings open, and there stands Percy in a white bunny costume. Annabeth can feel his forlorn stare through the bunny head. “Well I’m a fucking idiot and we should never listen to me.”
Annabeth can do absolutely nothing to stifle the cackle that overtakes her as she doubles over, trying to catch her breath.
Always following her lead, Percy can’t help but begin to laugh with her, though it’s muted by  the costume. “It’s not funny! It’s really warm in here.”
Annabeth stands and wipes tears from her eyes. “You look so cute.”
“Don’t patronize me.”
Annabeth steps forward, her shoulders still bouncing as her laugh continues, and wraps her arms around Percy’s fuzzy white neck. “You are going to make one little girl very, very happy today, Percy Jackson. You’re an angel.”
Percy sighs, wrapping his bunny paws around Annabeth’s waist. “Actually, I’m an Easter bunny.”
☼☼☼
Ruthie giggles as Amelia and Teddy swing her between them, her light pink dress crinkling in the wind as she goes. Annabeth follows behind them carrying three full Easter baskets as they make their way back home from the neighborhood egg hunt, and she could not be more excited to see what happens when they make it home.
Soon they are at the front steps of their townhouse, Ruthie screaming in delight as her siblings swing her right to the top, and Annabeth hurries after them, not wanting to miss a thing.
“DADDY, WE’RE HOME!” Ruthie announces as she skips into the house. She comes to a dead stop in front of the living room, and lets out another scream, this time one of sheer terror. “THE BUNNY!”
Teddy, Amelia and Annabeth all rush to her side just in time to see the Easter bunny jolting up into a sitting position on the couch. For a moment, there is complete silence. The bunny sits and stares blankly at the trio, while Amelia covers her mouth to keep from laughing, and Teddy and Annabeth comfort Ruthie.
“He was just... taking a nap, Honeybee,” Annabeth says as she gives the bunny a pointed look. “Right, bunny?”
The bunny nods, big and slow, and gives a thumbs up.
Ruthie remains skeptical, crossing her arms as she stares down the bunny. “What did you do with my daddy?” she asks, her tone accusatorial.
The bunny holds its arms out and shrugs in an I don’t know gesture.
Ruthie tugs on the hem of Teddy’s shirt, keeping her eyes on the bunny as she whispers. “Teddy, you gotta fight the Easter bunny.”
“What?” Teddy asks.
“Yeah,” Amelia interrupts. “Why wouldn’t you tell me to fight it? I love fighting.”
“I don’t wanna kill him,” Ruthie says like it’s obvious.
Teddy frowns at his step-sister. “No one is fighting the Easter bunny, you--”
“Kids,” Annabeth interrupts. “Let’s focus, shall we? Honeybee, I’m sure your dad is fine. Don’t you wanna say  hi to the Easter bunny? Maybe take some pictures?”
Ruthie stomps up to the bunny, who is still sitting patiently on the couch, and squares up to him with her hands on her hips. “You swear you didn’t hurt my daddy?”
The bunny nods, and uses a bunny paw to mark an x over his heart.
Ruthie’s demeanor changes in an instant, and she promptly hoists herself onto the bunny’s lap. “Ok! I trust you!”
The bunny visibly relaxes and helps Ruthie settle on his leg, where she begins to tell him about her day, thanks him for all the eggs he hid, and, once more for good measure, makes sure he has no knowledge of where her dad is.
“God, that kid can talk,” Amelia says as she leans her head back on her chair.
Teddy stuffs a peep in his mouth and talks through the marshmallow fluff. “Tell me about it.”
“I’m all done,” Ruthie says with a shy shrug, patting the bunny on the nose. “You’re a very good listener.”
The bunny holds up a paw requesting a high-five, and Ruthie gladly obliges. She hops off his lap and backs up, allowing him to stand. The bunny leans down and gives her a big hug, patting her on her head once he releases her.
“Okay, guys,” Annabeth announces. “Everybody upstairs. I know you all have to finish cleaning your rooms before Nana comes over for dinner, so please get to it.”
“C’mon, Ruthie,” Teddy says, picking his baby sister up and hoisting her over his shoulder.
Ruthie’s joyous giggles bounce around the room as she waves to the bunny, who emphatically waves back. “Bye, bunny! See you next year!”
☼☼☼
Teddy sits at his desk sketching an idea for a waterslide when there is a light knock on his door. He spins around in his chair and smiles when he sees Ruthie patiently waiting just beyond the threshold with her hands behind her back.
“What’s up, Smalls?”
“Can I come in please?”
Teddy laughs, and waves his sister over. “Of course.”
She saunters over to his bed and climbs onto it, her little self bouncing lightly as she settles in. “Can I tell you a secret, Teddy?”
He squints skeptically as he scoots his chair closer, so that he and his sister are eye to eye. “Always.”
Despite it just being the two of them, she beckons him closer until they are nose to nose, and cups her tiny hands around her mouth. “I think daddy’s the Easter bunny.”
Teddy bites back a smile. “What makes you say that?”
She brings her shoulders up until they are at her ears. “The bunny hugged me just like daddy does. And when I tell daddy to make a promise, he always crosses his heart.”
“Hmm…” Teddy says as he leans back in his chair, nodding very seriously. “You know, you might be onto something.”
Her eyes shine as they grow wide. “Does this mean me and Amelia are part bunny? Do you think we can turn into bunnies if we try real hard? Is daddy like a bunny werewolf?”
Teddy smiles at all the questions. “I don’t know, Smalls, but those are all great questions. I do know one thing, though.” “What?”
“If we are part bunny,” he says as he leans forward to rest his arms on his thighs. His face is serious. “Then Amelia’s the meanest bunny I’ve ever met.”
Ruthie is giggling yet again, flopping over onto her side, and Teddy swells with pride at his joke.
“Kids!” Annabeth’s voice calls. “Nana’s here!”
Ruthie sits back up, wiping the tears of laughter from her face. “That was so funny, Teddy.”
He winks conspiratorially. “Thanks, Ruth. Now how about we go downstairs and see if we can catch dad eating carrots.”
Ruthie’s eyes light up. “I’ll see if he has a tail.”

Harry Wells x Witch Reader - (Flash): Chapter 4
Tumblr media
Walking into the cortex that afternoon, you were a bit surprised no one was around. “Hello? Anybody home.” Harry lifted his head from behind the table, and a grin immediately spread on your lips.
“How do you manage to keep such a grumpy look all the time.”
“This is my neutral expression.”
“Right...so where’s everyone else grumpy wells?”
“Stop calling me that.”
“Grumpy wells.”
Harry glared, you really enjoyed agitating him, almost as much as Cisco did.
“There haven't been any recent attacks, so they're enjoying some R&R.” his eyes moved back to whatever project he’d been working on before you came in. The metal gadget on the desk looks foreign to you, but he obviously knew what he was building.
“So why are you still working?”
He didn’t answer.
“Grumpy wells, grumpy wells, grumpy wells!” he dropped the screwdriver in irritation.
“Don’t you have someone else to annoy, I’m busy.”
“I vote that we both go out. “ He just stared at you for a few moments.
“No thank you. I’m working. “ That and he really didn’t think it was a good idea for him to be alone with you. Harry realized a few weeks in that your need to be around him was unnerving. He didn’t like the sparks that rose whenever you cracked a joke or sent him those glistening smiles. Not to mention the age gap. His eyes lowered. He was at least twenty-five years older than you, to make matters worse you barely acknowledge the interactions. He was pining after you one sidedly, what was more pathetic than that.
“I can always zap you with a spell you know.”
“Didn’t you say witches aren’t supposed to harm regular people, I think that falls under harm.” you smile, cheeks tinting red. So he didn’t completely brush off information when you spoke, that was nice to know. He never looked like he ever paid much attention when you were talking, and you were positive you’d never said that to him directly, that must have meant that he was listening whenever Cisco made small inquiries about magic and witches. Still didn’t mean he liked you, but it was start.
“Come on Harrison, I know you can’t be happy cooped up in here all the time. Let’s go out, on me. Please, it’s boring if I’m alone. “
Couldn’t you ask Cisco to hang out with you?
“She’s always around him anyway.” Not that he cared. He wasn’t jealous, nope. Not one bit.
“Ask someone else, I’m busy.”
“I don’t want to ask someone else, I want you.”
You’d never say that to his face.
“Obstructionum.”
He reached out for the device on the desk, but a barrier blocked his hand, he paused, fixing his stare on you.
“I remove the block after you come with me.”
“This is blackmail.”
“Really, I’d like to think of it as insistent persuasion Grumpy wells, now let's go!”
He didn’t have much of a choice. With a grumble, he grabbed his jacket following you out.
~Two Hours Later~
“Chug Chug Chug!!!” you gulped the drink hurriedly and Harry sat at the side, wondering why he’d let you talk him into this. When the bottle was empty you slammed it on the counter, raising your hands as the people around cheered. The guy you were competing against fell off the chair, unto the ground, probably passed out.
“YEAH!!!” you cheered, still smiling at Harry.
He knew for a fact that he’d never go out with you again, that was for sure.
Just when he thought it couldn’t get any worse, you started to navigate towards the stage. Harry ran hand over his face, watching as you instructed the DJ to play you a song. The music filled the club, and apparently it was one most of the audience knew, or at least the women. He figured this is why he avoided clubs.
Queen B, want no smoke with me (okay)
Then turn this motherf---er up eight hundred degree (yeah)
My whole team eat, chef's kiss, she's a treat (mwah)
Ooh, she so bougie, bougie, bon appetit

Acting stupid, what's happening? (Woah, woah)
Bi---, what's happening? (Woah, woah)
Bi---, I'm a savage, yeah (okay)
The entire crowd was singing with you. At this moment, he couldn’t bring himself to be mad.
“She looks like she’s having fun.”
The headache you would wake up with tomorrow would be anything but fun, but he didn’t mind, as long as you were smiling.
The music started to die down, and you stumbled off the stage as another clearly intoxicated person took the mic from your hands. A few people gave you high fives as you passed, making your way back to Harry. Your face got even brighter and you jumped right into his arms. He staggered back, not ready for the action or contact. You were hugging him as you rambled on.
“Did you see me grumpy! I was *hic* a-awesome!!” He sighed, you were obviously past your limit.
“Alright, I think you’ve had enough, let’s get going.” you whined, shaking your head. “I’m tired, carry me~” you wore a pout, and he would have denied, but the look you sent him made it hard not to say yes to whatever crazy request you made. Leaning down, he scooped you up easily. You giggled, and he looked over to see what you found so amusing.
“I wasn’t r-really shhh! I just wanted grumpy to pick me up.” Your index finger was pressed to your lip in a shushing motion, and he wondered if you fully realized that you were talking to grumpy.
“You owe me.” he mumbled out. You just nodded, wrapping your arms around his neck, leaning your head on his shoulder.
“I’ll do anything you want Harrison.”
Your soft breath blowing on his neck wasn’t really helping matters. Nor was the seductive way in which you whispered that statement. The one good thing about this night was the fact that the club was fairly close to your apartment.
He wasn’t sure he’d be able to get a car with you in his arms. He’d only ever been to your apartment once before, and that was with the team when you first moved in. Walking through the door and into the elevator, he tried to focus on anything but you. On the walk over he was hoping you would pass out, maybe to help deter the racing of his heart. Your scent was everywhere, he couldn’t escape it. Or the feel of how warm and soft your skin felt. The elevator dinged, and he stepped out, searching for your room number. He stopped when he got to the desired door.
“Key..”
He needed your keys.
He lowered his arms, placing you unto your feet, in which you reluctantly followed. Harry held out his hand.
“I need your keys.”
“They're in my pocket.” The cheshire smile you wore made him squint. You took a step forward.
“My back pocket.”
Ah, so you were not only a happy drunk, but also a flirty one.
“Please give me the keys (Y/N).” You bit your lip at the soft way he asked. It was so unlike him. Intoxicated or not, that was pretty hot.
You took one last step forward, and Harry willed himself to be strong. Your eyes marked him.
“Say my name again..please..” He rarely ever said your name, somehow hearing it from his lips was far different.
“She’s drunk.” He kept reminding himself that. If you were sober you’d never act like this, or request something so silly.
"(Y/N)...”
Your eyelashes fluttered, and your gaze shifted to his lips. Harry swallowed. This was moving into the danger zone. He held his breath when he saw a yellow glow overtake your orbs. Behind your back he could hear the jiggling of your keys as they rose from your pocket. It went all the way around, landing right into his open palm.
“Thank you.” He muttered.
You were still looking at him with a compelling stare, and even though the light had faded, he still felt drawn in. You smiled, closing your eyes as you collapsed on him. Harry supported your weight, looking down at you longingly.
Why was the universe being so cruel to him?

New Ginny

"You know this was not what we had in mind for a low budget vacation, Winston!"
"You said you wanted to go somewhere you couldn't find at home."
"So, why would you take us to the beach all the way across the country, man?!" Sand shot in the air as an angry kick on the shore was executed effortlessly by the man Schmidt himself. "We live in freakin' LA! There's beaches crawling out of everywhere! And you wonder why no one lets you choose any of our vacation spots anymore, ya freak."
Cece threw up a hand in exasperation, diamond ring winking in the sun. "Yeah, why didn't you just tell us we were going to the beach, Winston? We could have saved a lot by just taking a car nearby instead of you surprising us with these 'low cost' plane tickets."
"See, you guys don't get it. I told y'all we were going on a cheap trip we ain't never done before, right?" Winston's smile brightened, the look of misguided, twisted comedy overtaking his expression with alarming speed. "And then, boom, I took y'all to the beach. On the East Coast. Ha! You just got Bishoped!"
Nick shook his head, right hand rubbing wearily against his face, looking just as tired as the rest of them. "You've gotta stop with your pranks, man."
"Y'all should've seen the look on my face - "
"Y- Seen the look on your face?"
The only word to describe the look on Schmidt's face was 'flabbergasted.'
" - When I swiped y'all's credit credit cards last month as you were all arguing with Nick over that Flat Earth theory video on YouTube - "
"When they asked the guy about his qualifications, he answered 'critical thinker'! Does that sound like someone who would just lie to you?!"
" - And for your only holiday weekends too! And, man, Nick is so broke right now! I was trying so hard to hold it in!" Winston was absolutely beaming with mirth at this point, reducing his friends' sense of camaraderie towards him to a terrifying low. "You know, you guys should really be checking your billing history more often, for real, someone could really be stealing from you, and you'd have no idea."
Before Winston could register Schmidt's increasingly tomato red face, something else in his periphery caught his attention. "Damn it, Ferguson, don't go near that water! It is not your friend, baby!"
"What type of idiot lets a cat roam free on the beach!"
While Cece attempted to alleviate the pressure between Schmidt's tightly clenched teeth, an irritated look overpowering her own, a low voice spoke from behind. "Are your friends always like this?"
Ginny, who had been laughing at her loftmates' antics and was surprisingly not feeling as bothered by Winston's tendencies as the rest of them (this vacation is, after all, well-deserved after the shitty week I've had, and every second counts, even if they are each spent planning Winston's upcoming ultimate demise), turned around to see an incredibly fit man her age speaking to her directly.
Sweeping her eyes over his form once, she leaned closer. "I'm afraid they are, yes, but I've got to warn you I'm not much better."
He seemed equally as amused as her. "How so?"
"Well, as you can tell from my completely American accent," she deadpanned in her British accent, amused when the stranger rolled his eyes in response, "my sense of humor is a bit dry. Superior, of course, but I'm told some people can't handle it."
"Natural selection will handle that, I hope," he chuckled.
"If we're lucky," she smiled. Feeling particularly introductory that late afternoon, she gestured halfheartedly to the obnoxious chatter several meters ahead of her. "My loftmates here, on the other hand, each have an equally questionable sense of humor themselves."
"Who, those few?"
She rolled her eyes, failing to prevent the corner of her lips from quirking upwards. Pointing to the man who was now dragging an increasingly wet and agitated cat from the Atlantic ocean, his jeans completely soaked from the knees down, Ginny drawled, "That idiot over there who cost us a proper, well-earned vacation is Winston. The only thing this man loves more than crazy pranks is his even crazier cat, who I'm pretty sure doesn't even know he exists. Needless to say, I've really never been more envious of a cat's attention span myself."
Moving on to Schmidt and Cece who were lying on the shore as far away from Winston as much as possible as a form of spite, Ginny explained matter-of-factly, "Schmidt and Cece don't have a cat, but that won't stop them from also making ear infection-inducing noises at six in the morning through our paper thin walls."
Pointing to the last couple on the beach, she continued, "Not like Nick and Jess are any better, though. They like to make weird noises too, but it's not always during sex, and that scares me more than it should anyone, really."
She gestured to herself. "And last but not least, you have me, whose most normal experience of today is having a fit guy at the beach wonder out loud about how five idiots managed to drag their even more fit loftmate out of her comfortable bed and into an expensive five hour flight. Just to do the same things that I easily could have done if I just took a simple albeit very long stroll outside. And I would have had a much better view, too, no offense to your rather peculiar looking ocean over here. What shade of contaminated gray would you call that hue, by the way?"
"No, that's a pretty accurate way of describing it, actually. I'd like to think there is some green in there, though. Just to give it the illusion of appearing to be clean." Reluctantly, Ginny had to agree.
The stranger's lips pressed firmly in amusement the entire time she was talking - ranting, more like - clearly trying to not give her the satisfaction of knowing how funny and charming he thought she was.
She found that endearing. They all try at first.
Eventually, he settled with: "So you and, uh, Winston, are the only two people in the loft who are not coupled up?"
She raised an eyebrow, impressed by his nerve. "Pretending to ignore your intentions for asking such a tactfully worded question, no, actually, when Winston's not too busy canoodling with his cat, he's canoodling his girlfriend - Aly - back at home, but she couldn't make it here today, lucky girl. So it's just me."
Finally smiling now, the stranger ignored her challenging look ('why are you so curious about my relationship status, you hot, inquisitive, none-of-your-business stranger?') and asked her teasingly, "Aren't there a lot of people to fit in just one loft?"
"I mean, we're from LA. Rent there is mad, so we need all the help we can get," she shrugged. "But, yeah, most definitely breaking some housing rules here or there. Is that something that bothers you?"
He smiled, something akin to arrogance taking over his face. She found that look more stirring than she'd like to admit out loud. "You'll find I'm not really the rule caring type."
"Oh? When would you imagine I'd be finding that out?"
She was beyond the point of caring how brazen she must have sounded to a complete and utter stranger. And if she was being honest with herself, she never did care, really. Besides, if she was going to fit a hot summer romance in the span of a whole day, she thought she might as well get on with it.
He cleared his throat, his gaze silently indicating how much he'd like to agree with her on that one, too. "Okay, Miss Dry Humor. I guess I know everything there is to know about your loftmates without risk of my mind being fully blown apart, now. What's your story?"
"What's yours?"
He chuckled at her retort though immediately furrowed his eyebrows afterward, as if he was confused by this question himself.
Ginny did not know what to think of that, though she found a strange fog overtaking her when she tried to ponder on her own personal history too.
Strange.
Instead, she prompted, trying to clear her mind, "You're a lifeguard here, right?"
He looked down at his form, a lanyard draped across his increasingly interesting collarbone and a whistle resting just above his bare chest.
"I can't swim."
She blinked.
"What?" she laughed. "Isn't that, like, a hazard for what you do?"
"Probably," he said sheepishly, rubbing his hand against the back of his neck. "I don't mean to, like, put anyone in danger or anything. It's a long story, but basically, I'm covering for my friend while he's, um...making noises with his girlfriend, as you said. Hence, the whistle right here. So I'm not really a lifeguard. But if anything happens, my other friend - an actual reliable lifeguard - can help you out. He's right over there nearby."
He pointed to another dark-haired, attractive man standing farther away from them along the shore. At first, Ginny thought he was winking at her, but when she saw the tension building along the shoulders of the stranger next to her, she knew who that teasing look was meant for.
"Sorry about him. He thinks I'm trying to make a move on you."
"Oh? Is that not what's happening right now?"
His cheeks flushed slightly. Ginny found it amusing how this man could be so confident but also so shit at flirting too. It strangely caused warmth to expand, but this time it was not through her lower belly.
"I don't want him to think that, though. I'd never hear the end of it."
It was not a direct answer to her question, but his eyes were so soft and mischievous that she had no doubt as to what he really meant.
She rolled her eyes anyway. "I thought you Americans were supposed to be more direct than that."
He scoffed, eyes lighting up at her jibe. "Oh, I see. You're one of those. Dry humor doesn't have to equate to being mean, you know."
Ginny laughed. "Well, that's why my loft arrangement works out so well with this lot over here," she jabbed her thumb to her friends, watching as Ferguson was attempting once more to drown himself in the ocean to escape his owner's clingy attentiveness. "My sense of humor is mean and dry, and their sense of humor compensates by being mean and wet."
He coughed. "Wet?"
She raised an eyebrow at him, pretending like she hadn't made any suggestive comment whatsoever. "Well, occasionally we do like to alternate, though."
"Of course."
"If I was always dry, and they were always wet, we'd have a different problem altogether."
He barked out a laugh, his cheeks flushing again. "How are you even real?"
"Well, anything's possible if you've got enough perv."
The man's breath hitched, his green eyes staring at her intensely. Despite her earlier insult, Ginny thought the color reminded her exactly of the ocean they were at now, something much stormier than the one back in California.
She found herself growing fond of this beach in a way she was not before.
"Do I know you? I swear I feel like I met you before."
She leaned closer to him, fighting feeling flustered herself. "I've probably got one of those memorable faces or something."
"Something like that." His eyebrows furrowed, but his lips were still upturned. "I'll certainly remember it much later today anyways."
His ears promptly reddened.
She gasped playfully, smiling as she hit him lightly on his very fit arm. "You are much smoother than you look. And randier."
He laughed. After a short while of them standing in a silence filled with smirks and silky sheet-like possibilities, he finally asked, "Okay, Miss Dry Occasionally Wet Humor - "
"Nice."
He bit back another chuckle. "What's your name?"
"What's yours?"
He rolled his eyes ("stubborn too"), he relented, "I'm Harry."
She chuckled, shaking his hand that was offered to her mockingly. She tried to ignore how well it fit in her own small one.
"Ginny."
He watched her nose crinkle, a deep smile spreading across both of their lips contentedly.
It was something tangible, she thought, as her insides fired up, not out of lustful heat - though certainly that too - but something warm, like receiving hugs after being shoved outside in a freezing tent in the woods for months and months, with nothing but a piece of marked parchment to keep one sane.
Parchment?
Something within her squirmed, and she thought that if she listened closely enough, the sounds of seagulls cawing in the distance could easily be replaced by something akin to an audience crooning in sympathy.
As if watching a pair of hopeless lovers on a silver screen.
Suddenly, Nick's comically high pitched scream filled the air, allowing Ginny to shake her head at her crazy thoughts.
"It's just a ghost crab, Nick!" Jess yelled from far away, annoyed as her boyfriend jumped on her back in fright, almost causing her to topple over herself.
"Why are there crabs and ghosts, Jess! You can't have both! You know I always told you that crustaceans are the cockroaches of the sea! It's a crazy world out here!"
At Jess's blank stare, Nick chuckled incredulously, his last brain cell firing meekly. "Wait. I get it. You're teasing me, Jess. Ghosts aren't real. Psh. Nice try."
Nick's neck cricked as he glanced around in paranoia.
Jess rolled her eyes, attempting to drop him down from her back but failing badly, his legs wrapped around her like a vice. "Ghost. Crabs. Nick. I don't know why you're even scared of them - they even walk sideways like you do!"
"They should not be blending in with the sand like that! They're all spooky ghosts! It's not right!"
"You. Are. So. Infuriating, Miller!"
As Nick hopped off of Jess to moonwalk away from the ghost crabs, a thought came to Ginny.
"They kind of remind me of..." Both Harry and Ginny said at the exact same time, causing them to stare at each other hastily.
When neither of them finished their sentences (what even was I going to say anyways?), Ginny huffed. "Right," she said, "Well, I've got to head back now before Nick finds out that it's getting late, which can only mean that more ghost crabs are bound to be crawling all over the place soon."
He laughed but quickly became alarmed when she made to leave. "Wait."
She turned around, hand cupping her forehead to squint at him through the waning sun. Harry swallowed, eyes drifting to her red hair in a daze.
Before he could say anything, however, Schmidt and Winston's obnoxiously loud voices were shrill above the sounds of the waves crashing ahead of them.
"Of all places for a prank!" Clearly, Schmidt's ability to let things go was about as weak as Ginny's right hook. "Why did you decide to take us here in the end?"
"As in, why the East Coast and not a beach in a whole other expensive ass country? Damn, now that would have been a better prank."
Four legs reached out to kick sand in Winston's face, Ferguson following with a screech.
"But to be honest, I couldn't wait to see what the sunset looks like on the other side of the country."
Pause.
"Winston! We are on the East Coast! The sun falls west at night time! Look at where the sun is now," Schmidt gestured aggressively behind him, where towering beach homes covered the view. "You can't see the freakin' sunset on this beach, man!"
"Aw, damn, my bad."
"How are you actually one of the more intelligent people I know in my life?!"
If there was one thing she and Schmidt shared, Ginny concluded, it was their inability to handle rage.
Her eyes flitted to Jess, who was trying to catch her attention.
Ginny chuckled, holding up a hand to let her loftmate know to wait there when she saw her smiling knowingly towards her and Harry. She watched as Jess's eyebrows waggled dramatically, stuffing her index finger through a hole she made with her other hand in repetition as she chomped down on her lip.
Completely unfazed by her loftmate's quirks at that point, Ginny turned to Harry again.
"If we can't do that sunset, I suppose I'll have to make plans for a sunrise tomorrow before we head back to LA, then. Join me?"
His answering smile could make a grain of sand feel alive.
She had the strangest feeling that the sound she could have sworn she heard a while ago was ringing faintly in her ear once more.
This time, she thought she heard boisterous whoops instead, clapping cheerfully as Ginny smiled one last time to Harry before finally walking toward her friends.

The day we kept moving forward
The Days Pt. 3
Word count: 2166
content warning: depression
The carpet was my new home. I had no desire to be anywhere else; not the bathtub where I could just lay in the cheap acrylic, not the closet where I could curl up in the familiar atmosphere I grew up with, not even my bed where I could spread my limbs out like a starfish.
The floor was my current sanctuary and I didn’t want to get up anytime soon. Not even when the doorbell continuously rang. I heard one of my roommates begrudgingly leave his room to answer. There was murmuring before my bedroom door crept open.
    “Jake? You awake, buddy?”
I groaned into the dirty carpet and he stepped inside, closing the door behind him. A bag was dropped to the ground and crossed legs appeared in my line of sight. I tilted my head just enough to look Darian in the eye. “What is it?”
“I’m supposed to be helping you with your math, remember?”
“Can’t that wait until tomorrow? Or the day after? Or before finals?”
“Definitely not. Come on, what’s up?”
I rolled over onto my back, nearly smacking my head right into a metal bed leg. “I’m tired. So. Freaking. Tired. No, scratch that, I’m exhausted.” My body decided to send my sentence to irony by making me yawn.
“Exhausted?” Darian pulled out his phone and checked the time. “What have you done today?”
“Woke up, got up, then immediately went back to sleep here.”
    “Jake, you’ve gotta get up.”
“No I don’t. Math can wait.”
Darian groaned and leaned back against my desk, staring off out the window. I kept my eyes trained on the ceiling while contemplating my whole existence. It was getting easier and easier to just, do nothing these days.
He scooted across the floor so he could lay on his back, head to head. “How about we go on another expedition? Will you get up off the floor for that?”
“Are you seriously asking me that after the last two times?”
He shrugged, shoving his hands in his pockets. “We made it out alive didn’t we?”
“My ear drums didn’t. We nearly didn’t the first time either,” I countered. Our first little excursion still haunted me and probably still would until the day I died. Which would be soon if I had my way or the app did.
“Maybe this time will be different.” But I could tell by the tone of his voice that he didn’t believe what he was saying either. “To be honest, it feels like we should do one again. At least one more.”
I stayed quiet for a moment. I knew he was right; it was like we didn’t have any other choice. Something kept pulling us back to that damn app. Some might say it was a correlation of how kids these days were always on their phones and couldn’t go one day without them.
Good thing that, at the ripe old ages of 21 and 22, we weren’t kids.
I took the phone from him and slid open the app. The same three choices appeared and I took a deep breath before tapping anomaly.
    Manifest what you want
“What do we want this time?”
“A reason to do this stupid game again.” I closed my eyes and waited. I wasn’t being sarcastic with my request. I really wanted a purpose for doing this and possibly subjecting us to more horror.
There was a tap on my shoulder and I opened my eyes to the GPS on his phone screen. I didn’t recognize the area but I could tell it was on the outskirts of Statesboro, surrounded by greenery. Great, another void location.
I quickly packed my normal bag: portable charger, water, pocket knife, flashlight, and granola bars. We got into Darian’s car and we followed the GPS in reserved silence. The only sound was the gentle hum of the engine and I prayed it wasn’t a sign of what was to come.
My eyes pleaded for sleep despite the tens of hours I had gotten the past couple days. It seemed all I did lately was work and sleep. No time was spent awake in the daylight; I was simply too tired to deal with anything not demanded of me. Food wasn’t even a priority anymore.
The coords took us as far as a gravel lot in the more rural area of the city. We parked and piled out, looking at each other in what I could feel was apprehensive fear. Why were we doing this again?
But before I could openly ask my concerns, Darian shrugged and started towards the woods. I got a sudden flashback to our first trip and swallowed hard. Quickly catching up to him, I kept close and within hitting distance of my best friend.
As we trampled through the brush, tall dark figures with no definite shape loomed in my peripheral vision. I snapped my head towards them but they disappeared into the trees. A shiver ran down my spine despite the burning sun in the afternoon sky.
“Still tired?”
“Extremely. I feel like I’m about to keel over.” I flexed my hands and my knuckles popped, a relieved feeling I wish the rest of me would follow.
“Have you had your medicine today?” Darian asked knowingly.
I simply nodded and reached for his phone. He handed it over and I zoomed in on the GPS. We weren’t that far away. Luckily, Randonautica wasn’t leading us to our deaths this time.
At least I hoped so.
I nudged him. “How’s your medicine going?”
“Ehhhh...”
“Dude. You’re supposed to be taking it every day.”
He shrugged and stared down at his phone. “I forget some days is all. Or I wake up too late.”
“Do you set your alarm?”
“Alarms don’t wake me up, remember?”
“I will drive over to your apartment and force you to take your meds, so help me.”
“You couldn’t even get up off the floor today.”
I stuck my tongue out at him and leaned over to check the GPS. The red dot was in the midst of fog on the screen. It didn’t even look like we were supposed to be in a forest, but we were for sure walking right towards it.
“What do we do if something happens again?”
“Run? What else?”
“We got knives.”
“If you want to try stabbing a supernatural entity, be my guest.”
“Listen you-”
Beep!
Darian caught my arm and pulled me back from stepping right off into a stream. I stumbled back from the riverbank and glanced at the GPS.
We had hit the coordinates. All they led to was a rushing river in the middle of the woods. Not the worst thing, definitely the most interesting find we’d gotten so far. I knelt next to the water and gently touched the top, the stream changing course to flow right over my fingers.
It wasn’t until then that I noticed the ever growing silence since we had entered the woods; no birds singing, no insects chirping, no crunching of leaves underneath our feet. Nothing.
    SNAP
I spun around on my heel. Right behind us was a neat pile of river rocks that definitely hadn’t been there before. I shared a shaky look with Darian and a silent notion was agreed between us. We weren’t going back the way we came.
Shadowy figures returned to the corner of my eye and I glanced towards them. Rather than disappear, I could’ve sworn one darted into the underbrush. Leaves rustled with no sound and I took a step back, blindly reaching behind me for Darian.
“I’m right here,” he said as he obediently grabbed my hand. He gazed at the river for a moment with a strained expression. “We need to go upstream to get back to the road.”
“You’ve got to be kidding me.”
Darian looked up at the sun, shielding his eyes in the afternoon bright. “We came from the North, the river’s coming from that way.”
“Why don’t we get across and climb up the hill.”
    “It’s 90 degrees, we can’t climb it.”
    “So you propose we swim?”
    “No, I propose we walk.”
    “Through the river.”
Darian nodded, already looking like he regretted this entire expedition. “Through the river.”
Multiple viewed thoughts battled in my mind, all debating the pros and cons of being idiotic enough to either walk through the storming river or traverse back into the haunted forest. Neither was particularly pleasing and listening to Darian’s ideas had already gotten us into one tight spot today already.
But a small pile of rocks scared me enough to agree.
Luckily we were both wearing shorts. We took off our shoes and placed them in our bags. Then he carefully stepped into the river and held my elbow as I followed. The water was gliding fast past and I wobbled on my feet. I treaded the tiny waves for a bit before letting go of Darian and stood on my own.
Which proved to be a horrendous idea. As soon as I moved, the river kicked up and beat against my legs. I pushed them to cut through the force and instantly all the willpower was sucked out of me.
I trudged against the ever flowing current as it pushed back ten times as hard. I felt like a football player throwing all their weight against those training dummies on the field. My shoulders hurt and my legs grew tired with every feeble step I took.
I looked to my right and my eyes widened. Darian was walking through the water as if he was on dry land, just strolling along with no hint of the frustration or torment I felt. He went at a slow pace to keep up with me but besides that, he was completely fine.
I opened my mouth to voice my frustration, but no sound came out. I gingerly touched my neck and tried to speak. My throat strained and closed in on itself, tightening with my feeble attempts to say anything.
I shut up and waved my hands towards Darian frantically, but he didn’t seem to notice my plight. He simply continued his casual journey up the river. I tried walking over to him but as soon as I turned my feet sideways, the water cranked up a notch at my ankles and nearly knocked me to my knees.
Breathing uneven and panicked, my body heated up in a cool contrast to the cold water overtaking my legs. Even though the stream was only knee-high, my entire body cooled down to the same temperature and I shivered in the 85 degree heat.
The dark figures returned and overstayed their welcome as I suffered in the river. Growing darkness in my vision as every bit of strength I had mustered quickly depleted from my body. Time was irrelevant as fear gripped my heart the more I spoke silent pleas for help.
My feet started to sink and my heart pounded against my ribcage. I floundered forward and reached for Darian, but he didn’t notice. Or couldn’t.
We had hit the end of the stream and the edge of the woods. The car and consequently freedom wasn’t far away. If only I could break free.
Darian started to step onto the bank, turning to me when I didn’t follow. “Jake? You coming?”
I shook my head and tried lifting my foot, only for it to be dragged back down. My ankles were now sunk into the rocks at the bottom of the stream, piling around my scarred skin like a bonfire.
Suddenly aware of the danger surrounding us, he grabbed both of my wrists and pulled on them. Pain shot through my arms but I couldn’t yell it out. The stream pulled just as hard and I was in a tug of war for my life.
Darian gripped my hands so tight his knuckles creeped white around the edges. He yanked one more time and it was like the river finally deemed us worthy to be let go of its clutches. I lurched forward and into his shaking arms, my elbows dipping into the water.
He immediately grappled for the rest of me and, together, we scrambled onto the shore. Our shoes kicked up dirt behind us as he pulled me onto dry land. I dug my gnarled fingers into the soil, breathing heavily.
Coughing, I looked up at Darian and choked out, “Thanks.” The word felt like molasses on my tongue.
“No problem,” was his only response. He then took my hand and started rushing further up the river and away from the figures leering out of the trees towards us.
We held hands all the way back through the dense woods and back to the car. Darian reluctantly let go to fish his keys out of his pocket and we slid into the front seats. As we drove home barefooted, I took out my knife and held it open on my lap.

This could’ve turned out better but I hope you enjoy 💞
Warnings: Language, Angst, Fluff
***
Diego Hargreeves thought he’d seen it all.
And he also thought that they saved the timeline, too. Finally stopped the apocalypse that started this whole thing.
Well in a way they did, but there were just... complications now.
The Sparrow Academy.
A contrast to The Umbrella Academy in nearly every way, it was difficult to wrap his head around the idea of Reginald adopting a whole new bunch just because he messed up the one he had before.
Even though he already hated the man, it was still upsetting to see how easy he moved on and created a whole new academy based off their basic humanity; insulting even.
So Diego, as the rest of his siblings did, looked at them as a threat at first. They had powers, just like them—they had just found out about Lila—so it was not much of a surprise to discover that there were others.
You caught his attention right away.
Diego wasn’t exactly sure what it was, but you were quiet unless the rest of your... siblings, and you didn’t give them the stink eyes the rest of them were quick to give, but rather one of curiosity and something else, something that he couldn’t decipher.
So, he watched.
Your powers weren’t as extraordinary as some of your siblings, but you were powerful enough on your own. You were aware of the weariness The Umbrella Academy showed towards your family and, really, you didn’t blame them one bit for it. Vanya and Klaus was probably the kindest to you out of the seven the first time around. The others, sans Diego, left you alone soon after introductions—you knew Five kept an eye on you, always prepared for an attack.
Diego, however, seemed to pay attention to you when you didn’t know it, and quickly found this out when you were discovered in the one part of the mansion that everyone knew not to bother you in.
“You’re quiet.”
You jumped, surprised that you didn’t hear him at all. A bolt of energy flashed from your hands, hitting a nearby shelf that knocked a pile of books over; they landed with a series of loud thumps, making you wince.
Diego, however, regarded the incident with raised eyebrows, but not a trace of judgement on his face.
“And you’re nosy,” you countered back.
He nodded his head, as if in agreement—well, maybe it was.
“So what’s your power?”
You hesitated, and he caught on to it quickly.
“I can throw knives,” he said awkwardly, bringing said knife up in his hand.
That got you to smile. “Energy manipulation. I come up here when things get to be... too much.”
He sat down slowly and carefully sat on a desk nearby, as if he was scared to disturb the quietness that surrounded the room.
“When does that happen?” He asked with a tilt of his head; he didn’t seem to mind the bangs that slightly covered his eyes. “I mean, what triggers them.”
You shifted in your chair that sat a little away from him—he was close enough that you could see the fainted scars that littered his face and neck—and sighed.
“Well it’s a lot of things, really,” you said with disdain. “Sometimes loud noises will set me off on my really bad days—bad days as in, a minuscule argument with my siblings or forgetting my lessons, etc. My powers don’t just stimulate from my hands, but I can sorta absorb energy, too; human, electrical, whatever it is, I can get it for the most part.”
“‘Sorta, ‘’most part’,” he mocked with a light tone. “Gotta be more specific.”
“Right now you’re nervous. Not too nervous, but I can feel the uncertainty rolling off you since you got here—not that I blame you.” You waited for him to nod. “And I can feel that; it comes to me like a... a weight to my chest, I guess you can say; extra baggage to my own emotions and most of the time I have trouble controlling them.”
He seemed to get it by the way he continued to nod. “Makes sense.”
You chuckled. “So I come here to calm down, otherwise you’d be seeing a lot more of those flashes around the house. The worst that’s ever happened is when I shattered all the windows and nearly destroyed every bit of furniture in the house.”
He laughed. You decided right then and there that you really liked the sound of that.
“I would’ve liked to have seen that. The look on that mans face...”
He trailed off, looking down at his feet. You felt the anger and hurt roll off him, and you had to take a few deep breaths to settle them down.
“It must be weird, being here. How different is it? Your timeline and my timeline, I mean.”
He shrugged, twirling his knife mindlessly, it being second nature to him. “Not by much from what I can tell so far, but I’m sure we screwed this timeline up just like we did the other, something my family and I seem to be very good at.”
You frowned, scooting your chair closer to him. He watched you carefully as you did but made no objections.
“Nah, shit like that just... happens.”
He gave you a quizzical look that made you feel small all of a sudden, yet not in a bad way, but in a way where he was studying you; then, a new wave of fascination bubbled within you.
Then he grinned. And it made your heart skip a beat at the way his face spread so happily, so carefree.
You talked all night about your lives. You were a little shocked to hear what Diego had to go through living with Reginald, and wanted to curse the man even more for his selfish and abusive behavior. It made you feel closer to him, though, and you could feel the same for Diego. It took some time, but he continued to open up to you, giving you pieces of himself that you returned equally.
It took months for you to realize you were in love with him. And it fucking scared you. You’ve never felt this kind of intensity before, it felt like being reborn, almost; like you were a completely different person yet the same, still.
Your first kiss only heighten the feeling.
“Wow,” you breathed against his lips, breathless and grinning like a fool—Diego matched it with a chuckle, caressing your cheeks fondly while keeping his forehead pressed against yours.
“Wow times infinity,” he said dumbly, making you both giggle before he muffled it with his lips.
It was the best feeling in the world.
But you hated having to sneak around. It was something the both of you agreed on, not wanting to bring any unwanted attention towards you or have Reginald’s wrath darken your love for each other. Not being able to kiss him whenever you wanted, or hold him or even look at him a certain way was starting to get the best of you, no matter the reassuring words Diego spoke to you in the safety of his arms.
“Nobody is gonna take you from me, got that?” His breath tickled your neck. “You don’t have to worry so much, not when I’m here to help.”
“I know,” you scooted closer to him, eager for his warmth. “But I can’t help but feel that everything is going to turn bad, and it just makes me feel so helpless.”
He shook his head, shushing you gently while cradling the back of your neck; your blankets tangled around your bare feet, legs intertwined together and naked chest pressed tightly against one another.
“We got this,” he said confidently. “You and me.”
Your heart soared. He made you feel safe no matter the situation at hand, and that night you felt nothing but unwavering dedication and love, so much fucking love that it threatened to tear you apart in all the best and worst ways.
“You and me.”
His lips distracted yours for the rest of the night until he had to climb out your window. Every time you watched him disappear into the dark—after a wave and a kiss blown to your direction—a piece of you left with him.
Reginald found out about your secret relationship quicker than you thought he would. As usual, he was upfront and brutal about it.
“I forbid it,” he scolded the two of you like you were children. “They do not belong here and you have no right to interfere with these failures, and I will not have them bring you down. You have much potential and a lot of work ahead of you, don’t waste it on him.”
You ran up to your room before you let your powers best you, Diego quickly following in your steps.
You didn’t say anything at first, taking a few deep breaths to calm yourself down. Diego gave you space by leaning against the wall in front of your bed, watching you carefully with his arms crossed across his chest.
“He’s right,” you finally whispered. “This isn’t your place anymore or even the right timeline or whatever it is for you... and you shouldn’t have to deal with this anymore.”
“And neither should you,” he said sternly. “You don’t have to take that from him.”
“I know but—“ you bit down on your lip, hoping the tears wouldn’t escape.
“Just come with us,” he begged, holding on to your hands. “Or I’ll... I’ll stay. I don’t care, as long as I’m with you.”
“I can’t ask you to do that,” you shook your head; you could feel it starting to pulse, the raging emotions flying beyond your control and starting to overtake your senses. “They’re your family and I can’t make you leave them, not when you just got them back. And I’m sorry, but I have to stay here with mine, too.” As much as you loathed them at times, what you were saying wasn’t false—you still loved them dearly and the thought of leaving them behind hurt you.
Diego had gotten good at detecting when your powers were climbing in intensity. He slowly placed his forehead on yours, telling you to match his calm breaths.
“We can get through this,” he said quietly after a few moments. “But it only works if we leave. At least out of this house and away from them.”
Your bottom lip shook as the tears started to fall. “They still need me too. Just like your family needs you.” You backed away from him, your heart breaking and shattering into pieces at the way his entire face fell; that look would haunt you for the rest of your days, knowing that you were the cause of it.
“So y-y-you’re g-g—” He frowned, frustrated with his stutter that only came out when he was extremely nervous or upset; it made you feel like the biggest piece of shit in the universe. “Going to l-leave me then? Just l-like that?”
You hugged your arms across your chest, as if it would help ease the stinging the rang painfully through your chest. “I don’t want to,” you admitted with a whimper.
You couldn’t look him in the eyes anymore. It was getting to be overwhelming and you weren’t sure how long it was going to be before your sobs would tear from your throat.
“Then don’t,” he sighed in defeat, taking a few tentative steps closer to you. “You don’t have to listen to him just because he gave you this big ass mansion, or or made you feel like this was the only place where you would get help and be accepted for who you are. Your family will understand that.” He was desperate at this point, unwilling to be under Reginald’s thumb, or The Umbrella’s or the Sparrow’s anymore, and he wasn’t about to let you fall. “I love you. Just...” he placed his forehead back on yours, giving you the chance to move away. When you didn’t, he wrapped his arms around your waist and pulled you to him until there was barely an inch of you that wasn’t touching him. “Please.”
You thought about how loved Diego made you feel. You thought about your siblings, the Umbrella Academy. You thought of Reginald, and a life away from him, away from the end of the world and time travel and different timelines; of found love, of how it felt like you were barely seen, like you were a bomb that could explode any second over the stupidest little things, how Vanya had just started to help you with your powers as she understood where you were coming from.
Was it really worth it? Throwing it all away because of one man, because of uncertainty?
“Okay,” you finally whispered. “Let’s go.”
His eyes immediately lit up, a smile tugging at the corner of his lips. “Really?”
“Yeah,” you nodded, smiling through the tears. “Just you and me.”
He kissed you before you could take another breath and fuck if you cared, as long as his lips were on yours. You could get through just about anything as long as you had each other, this love and guidance and acceptance, and that’s all you needed in the end.
“You and me.”

----------
You and Javier had a…complicated relationship to say the least.
You two butted heads like no tomorrow – constantly arguing over the stupidest things or having screaming matches over how to most efficiently complete a mission. It was exhausting, and while you both constantly bickered with one another, you didn’t hate him. You both just irritated the hell out of one another. He would steal your favorite pens or ‘forget’ to tell you important mission details, while you, would tease him about his informants or nag him about his smoking habits. While somewhat annoying to those around you, especially Steve, it had become the norm. Which is why you were still slightly confused as to how you ended up in the man’s bed.
So maybe complicated was a little bit of an understatement.
Soon after you had settled into your usual back and forth banter and bickering, a drunken night out with Steve and Connie had ended up in Javier’s apartment sans clothing. You both had argued the next morning (obviously) but ended up deciding that it wasn’t a completely awful thing. You both were stressed out constantly, frustrated with your seemingly non ceasing chase of Escobar. So, what better way to get it all out? And who better to get it out with, than someone you supposedly felt indifferent towards.
So here you were, in Javier’s apartment for the second time that week, sheet pulled up over your chest as you lay on your side and watched him light up a cigarette. You watch as he brings the lighter to the end of it and flicks the switch. Your eyes immediately fall to the ticking numbers on his wrist: 1:57:23
One day, fifty-seven minutes, and twenty-three seconds.
The time until he finds out who his soulmate is slips away slowly and here he was laying in bed with you. you feel your heart clench at the realization, that he was most likely going to end up with someone other than you. You tried to blink the thought away, did you want him to be with you? As your eyes trail gently over his profile; his mussed hair, adorable nose, and eyes closing gently as he exhales smoke and relaxes into the pillows more. You realized in this moment that you felt more for him than physical attraction. You wanted to wake up like this, the morning light hitting him just right as he cracks his eyes open in the morning as he leans over to press a gentle kiss to your lips. You sighed at the thought, an action that drew Javier’s attention, and he turned his head slightly to look at you.
“What’s on your mind?” he asks casually, taking another drag from his cigarette, his bare chest rising with the action.
You worry your lip between your teeth momentarily before finally sitting up slightly resting your head in your hand so you were level with him, “Have you ever thought about it?” you ask.
He glances at you from the corner of his eyebrows furrowed together as he exhales, smoke filling the air, “Thought about what?”
You gesture to his hand holding the smoldering stick, timer still ticking slowly away, “Your soulmate. I had never seen your timer before,” you observe.
He rolls his eyes, “I try my best not to think about it. It’s a bunch of bullshit anyway.” He says bitterly.
You aren’t surprised. You figured he would say as much considering his usual activities. So, you just let out a low hum before rolling onto your back. You both sat in a comfortable silence for a few moments before you brought your own hand from under the covers. You can’t even remember the last time you had looked at your own timer, having been so busy with work and Javier. Your eyes fell to the small changing numbers on your wrist and you felt your brows furrow slightly.
1:50:13
You turned your head slightly to look at Javier once more and search for his timer.
1:50:12
You felt your heart skip a beat. As the realization dawned on you.
Were you and Javier soulmates?
You look away quickly and put your hand back by your side while your other hand clutches the top of the sheet tightly. This could not be happening. This could not be happening! You take in a deep breath to steady your breathing. There has to be another reasonable explanation. You both could just meet your soulmate tomorrow, it has happened before you were sure, with as many people there were in the world.
That had to be it.
But you couldn’t help the words that came out of your mouth before you could stop them, “What if we were soulmates?” you ask suddenly, voice breaking the silence.
You saw Javi tense up slightly, before letting out a low chuckle, “Me and you? Soulmates? What a cruel twist of fate that would be,” he says, taking another drag of his cigarette.
You feel your heart constrict in your chest at his words and you sat up, clutching the sheet to your chest, “What’s that supposed to mean?”
He turns his head to look at you now, eyebrows furrowed in clear confusion, “You have met us, right? We hate each other, and we sure as hell don’t get along all that well,” he says like it’s the most obvious thing in the world.
You rolled your eyes, “We got along just fine half an hour ago when you were slamming me against the kitchen counter,” you argue.
He lets out another humorless chuckle and snuffs out his cigarette in the tray on the bedside table, “This” he gestures between you both, “is the only way we get along. It’s just sex (y/n), you know that,” he huffs.
You did. You did know this yet hearing him say it out loud hurt. It made your chest ache so deep you felt it in your fingertips, and a frown settled itself onto your face.
Javier saw the change in your demeanor, and he knew immediately what it meant. He hadn’t truly meant what he said. In fact, he had also felt himself falling for you over the year you had been in Colombia. Your bickering and arguing was just how he did things, it’s always how he did things, and he thought that if he faked his dislike for you it would become true. Yet here he was about to break your heart in order to save you the pain of being with a broken man like him.
“Did you think it was something more?” he asked accusingly, putting as much venom behind the words as he could muster. He had to make it believable, for himself or you that he didn’t know.
You shrugged your shoulders, “I don’t know I thought that maybe-“
“Maybe what?” he cut you off, “That maybe I felt more for you? Maybe I loved you?” he mocked.
You felt an indignant anger start to well up within you along side your heartbreak, “You don’t have to be a dick Javier.”
Before you could process what was happening, he shifted his legs over the bed and quickly pulled on his sweats before tossing you your pants. You caught them haphazardly and looked on in shock and despair as he gathered the rest of your clothes and tossed them on the bed.
“I think you need to leave,” he said lowly.
You quickly pulled on your shirt before standing and tugging your pants up your legs, “So what? Things start to get the least bit confrontational and you kick me out?” you ask, feeling the tears starting to collect in your eyes.
“This isn’t what I signed up for. We agreed that this was a casual thing,” he said sternly. God you needed to leave before his resolve crumbled.
You scoffed, “I can’t help how I feel!” you cry.
Javier shakes his head, before gently ushering you towards the door with a hand on your arm. You shake out of his grasp and distance yourself from him, “No, fuck you Javier!” you yell, shoving his hands away from you.
He opens his mouth to say something but you cut him off, “This is why you don’t have anyone important in your life anymore!” you wail, tears now streaming down your face, “and no one likes you because you’re a fucking asshole all the damn time!”
Javier can do nothing but look on in complete and utter shock as you continue your tirade.
“You’re a selfish, arrogant, two-faced son of a bitch and you’re going to end up alone forever if you don’t change something!” your words echo through the apartment before a deafening silence overtakes the apartment.
You take in heaving breaths, trying to gain some control over yourself as Javier is still standing stock still looking at you with wide eyes and hands on his hips. You finally shake your head and wipe away the tears, grabbing your keys from the counter and brushing past him.
“And you’ll deserve it.” You whisper finally before opening the door to his apartment leaving, the slamming of the door echoing in the otherwise silent apartment.
Javier ran a hand down his face before walking over and collapsing onto his couch, reaching over and grabbing a cigarette subconsciously. He lights the end of it quickly before taking a deep inhale, resting his head on the back of the couch. His other hand pinches the bridge of his nose briefly before quickly reaching over to swipe the ashtray from the side table.
“Fuck!”
The glass falls loudly onto the floor, ashes scattering across the tile as Javier flops back into the cushions. Arm thrown across his eyes in an attempt to keep the stinging tears at bay. Never once has Javier screwed up so badly. But as he lays there, eyes falling to the small black numbers on his wrist ticking away, he realizes he may have made the biggest mistake of his life.
---
You had not gone into work the next day. Opting to instead wallow in self-pity within the confines of your own bed with a pint of your favorite ice cream. Maybe if you didn’t go to work and didn’t leave your apartment you could somehow outsmart the timer on your wrist. You really didn’t feel like dealing with soulmate stuff today if you could avoid it. So, you had left a voicemail with the ambassador, claiming an unexpected stomach bug, and used one of your sick days. Word had apparently gotten to Steve because around noon Connie had shown up to your door to see what was wrong, and upon realizing that you were, in fact, not sick, you had fallen apart in her arms and spilled everything that had happened.
“God, he’s such an asshole Connie,” you sniffled, shoving another spoonful of ice cream in your mouth, “But I guess I was the stupid one. I knew that’s how it was going to go, and I let myself fall for him anyways.”
Connie shook her head and rubbed your shoulder comfortingly, “No. you can’t help the way you feel, honey” she says sweetly, glancing down at her watch quickly.
You nod at her words and watch quietly as she stands, “I have to get back to the hospital, but I call to check on you later tonight.” She says kindly.
You shake your head and swallow the ice cream in your mouth, “No it’s fine Connie, you go do your job and I’ll just talk to you tomorrow. I’ll be fine.” You give her a reassuring smile.
She returns the smile before grabbing her purse and exiting your apartment, waving at you as she goes. You sigh quietly and slouch back into the couch cushions flicking the TV on a random channel and watching absentmindedly as you will the day to pass by faster so you can hopefully go back to normal tomorrow. But as the day ticked on and the shitty romance soap operas played on the TV, you just felt worse and worse. You couldn’t seem to get Javier out of your mind no matter how hard you tried. It seemed like wherever you looked you saw him in something. Whether it was his t shirt you had found under your bed, the cheesy rom coms on TV, or that damned timer you say anytime you lifted the spoon to your mouth. It all reminded you of him. and the fact that the timer was still ticking down the, now mere minutes, until you meet the supposed love of your life was making the tears return. You set the half-filled tub of ice cream down on the coffee table as the tears continued to stream down your face. As you wiped them away you caught sight of that damn timer and you felt a desperate grief fueled rage fill your heart as you looked at the timer, completely ignoring the fact that it only had a minute left on it. You started to rub furiously at it. As if that would somehow make it and the idea of a soulmate disappear. Soulmates were bullshit. You didn’t want your soulmate. You wanted Javier and he didn’t even want you back. He had pretty much tossed you out like a sack of garbage when he found out your feelings for him. you felt more tears stream down your face as a loud knocking sounded at your door. You stopped your furious ministrations in favor or looking at the ceiling and letting out an exasperated cry. You didn’t want to deal with whoever was at the door. You just wanted to go to sleep and never wake up again. But the person on the other side of the door wouldn’t stop knocking and it was eating at your already fried nerves. You groaned and stood abruptly from the couch, marching over to the door. Your timer ticking down the entire way there.
00:00:05
You stopped as your blanket got wrapped around your ankle, but you untangled it quickly.
00:00:04
The knocking, but it was faster now, more urgent.
00:00:03
“What?” you cried out, “I’m coming!”
00:00:02
You didn’t even bother looking out of the peephole, something foolish on your part, as your hand wrapped around the door handle.
00:00:01
“What the hell do you want?” you asked, voice scathing as you ripped the door open, ready to hit whoever was on the other side.
00:00:00
The moment your red-rimmed eyes met Javi’s concerned ones you felt a stinging heat encased your left wrist, and both you and Javier visibly winced gripping the affected area instinctively.
Your eyes shot to your timer, which now read zero, before glancing back up at Javier who had seemed to come to a similar realization as you had, his mouth hanging open in a shocked ‘o’.
You chuckled bitterly, before reaching for the door again, “No way. this isn’t happening,” you scoff, starting to close the door, “Goodbye Javier.”
You move back to close the door completely but before it can click shut a familiar brown shoe wedges between the door and the door jam preventing you from running away.
“Please (y/n)-“
“Save it Javier. I don’t want to hear your goddamn excuses,” you bite.
“Just let me explain,” he practically begs, “and if you still don’t want to see me then I’ll leave. I swear.”
You don’t budge, contemplating his words for a moment. He was your soulmate it seemed, and even though the last thing you wanted to do right now was see him after what he had done, you figured he at least deserved a few moments of your time. So, you let out a dejected sigh and let go of the door, walking over to your couch as Javi let himself in, closing the door behind him before taking a seat on the coffee table in front of you. His eyes glance over the now melting tub of ice cream and a small smile comes to his face.
“I didn’t take you for a mint chocolate chip kind of girl,” he teased.
You crossed your arms and shook your head, “What do you want Javi?” you huff.
He looks at you incredulously, “Do you not realize what just happened? We’re soulmates (y/n). kind of a big deal.”
You scoff and stand to your feet, looking down at the man in front of you, anger seeping into your words as you spoke, “Is it Javi? Is it a big deal? Because last time I checked, which was yesterday you said that it was all ‘bullshit’ and kicked me out of your apartment like one of your informants!” you snapped, but as quickly as your anger came it seemed to dissipate as you deflated and fell into the couch, “You acted like you cared about me when in reality you don’t see me as anything other than a fuck-buddy.” You were crying now, and Javier felt his heart shatter at the sight in front of him.
He only did and said what he did because he was terrified. He doesn’t want to lose you because he isn’t good enough. He knows you deserve so much more than him, and he’s so terrified that if you do get together one day you’ll wake up and realize that and leave him. But as he sat there watching you frantically try to wipe the tears away, tears he caused, he couldn’t stop himself anymore. Before he could think of the consequences, he dropped onto his knees in front of you, hands gently grasping the sides of your face and brought your lips to his own. You tensed at first, still struggling with your emotions but the fact that he was kissing you right now said enough. Javier never kissed you, not like this. This kiss was gentle, passionate, full of all the emotions you knew he couldn’t say out loud. So, you slowly melted into it and your own hands reached up to cup his jaw, your fingers tracing the stubble gently before moving to card through his hair. Before you knew it, you felt a different set of warm tears join your own as they fell between your lips and you pulled away, shocked to see a few tears had escaped Javi’s eyes too.
“Why are you crying?” you whisper, rubbing your thumb along his cheekbone lightly.
He gave you a small smile before brushing away your tears gently, “because I realized that I almost lost you,” he explained.
You opened your mouth to speak but he silenced you with a kiss before pulling back and continuing, “You were right. About everything. I am an asshole, and I will end up alone, unless I change something, So I’m going to start right now,” he says quietly, moving so he’s sitting up on the couch with you, your hands in his own.
“I love you (y/n). I have for a long time but I was afraid – afraid of losing you or you realizing what a fucking mess I am and not even giving me the time of day…” he trails off and you take this moment to speak up.
“I love you too Javi,” you gasp, launching yourself into his arms and burying your face into his neck, as if you were afraid, he would disappear if you let go, “stay? Please.” You whisper, breath fanning over his neck and sending a shiver down his spine.
A smile breaks across his face as he presses a gentle kiss to your temple, “Of course mi amor.”
----
Bonus: Six months later
The bright morning light filtering through the curtains is what woke you. well, that and the finger trailing lightly up and down your back. You let out a contented sigh, a smile adorning your lips, before you turn to face the offender, his eyes warm and full of happiness as they meet yours. You shut your eyes and stretch your arms above your head before scooting closer to Javi and draping your arm across his torso.
“Morning,” you say groggily.
Javier just lets out a low hum as he lets his own arm fall over your waist, continuing to trace patterns onto your bare skin. You look up at him, taking in the way the early yellow light seems to make his skin glow in an almost angelic way. but you also take in the pensive look on his face as he looks down at you, eyes finally meeting yours.
“Penny for your thoughts?” you ask sweetly.
He looks at you a moment, almost drinking you in before he captures your lips with your own sweetly before pulling back and looking at you once more.
“I just never thought I could have this, it all feels like a dream, being with you and being…happy,” he admits quietly, his other hand coming to play with your hair gently.
You look up at him, complete adoration in your eyes, “Well you do have it, and you have me, and we are happy. Unless you have something to tell me?” you question teasingly.
He lets out a breath of laughter burying his head into the crook of your neck, pressing a kiss to your shoulder, “This is the happiest I’ve ever been or ever will be – as long as you’re by my side.”
Your heart swells at his words and you pull yourself into him tightly enjoying the peaceful moment you too share, “Well, we are soulmates – so I guess you’re stuck with me Javi,” you laugh quietly.
He hugs you tightly, “I wouldn’t have it any other way.”

*Sighs*
I’m bored let’s do a lore dump
It’s a Map~
Oh Yeah I mentioned a Sprinkle of Final Fantasy and KH but I haven’t talked about that Aspect of my Canon At all have I? Well truth be told it’s cause I’m focusing on getting the more Basic Aspects of my Oc’s Before I get into that but Guess who made this Baby on a Whim!
Tumblr media
So this is the Map of the Isle of Light well the Main Island at least there are other Littler Bits of land Yet to surface I̶t̶’̶s̶ ̶t̶o̶t̶a̶l̶l̶y̶ ̶n̶o̶t̶ ̶s̶o̶ ̶I̶ ̶c̶a̶n̶ ̶A̶d̶d̶ ̶o̶n̶t̶o̶ ̶t̶h̶i̶s̶ ̶L̶a̶t̶e̶r̶ ̶h̶a̶h̶a̶ oh yeah did I mention it’s a FLOATING ISLAND!! Yeah P Sick right? Okay so I’ll go into the Island’s History and it’s Area’s but it may have some Spoilers I guess you could say but honestly I wouldn’t wait on me making a full fledged...Anything outta the Story I’ve made like I’ll sum it up (not here but like in general) but comics are hard Videos are hard Fics are hard maybe not individually but this is more of a Anime Series then an Anime movie if you feel me without further ado...Stuff
Oh god this was longer then expected
Some General Background
So The Isle of Light was Originally the Black Forest A Place of Freedom and Expression for all who lead lives who Needed to hide Such and Some Such was The Coven of the Black Forest made up of 3 sisters (not biologically also there was a 4th) they all found comfort and love with each other one being the Princess of the Kingdom nearby (The 4th and Littlest one) She had a fiancé who was Mad with a Lust for power and Control over things he Didn’t need power and control over He Treated the Littlest one Cruelly when the other 3 Decided enough was enough when he did...SOMETHING to Part of the Forest so Horrible it turned Dead and Cruel (Subtle Subtle Hint Hint Wink) When all 3 Of them saw the Ruin They went so mad they turned to Darkness and fought him and all his Manmade monstrosities there when the Princess Arrived there was so much Dark energy everywhere it was Bad like Real Bad So with her friends now monsters she Fought them with a heavy heart her heart broke so much she fell afterwards immediately Unintentionally Sending her Kingdom to somewhere nobody knows where she is though...That’s an even bigger question BUT the story would live on as a Weilder of the key blade who slayed 3 evil witches...(Oh yeah did I mention Crowley knows And that’s Why He Let the Girls Attend because he thought they might be the Black Forest Coven Reincarnated And the Prophecy that when they Awakened the “Keys to their Hearts once more” They’d Free The Princess From her Mirror Prison Oh Yeah also the princess DID Die But her Reincarnation Goes inside a Mirror and is trapped there when she turns 17 and Doesn’t leave until she dIES ALSO ITS HIS OLDEST DAUGHTER THIS TIME ALSO YES HE HAS 2 DAUGHTERS...Okay lemme just calm down..Also yeah she thought of the Princess System) but After a Wish got safe haven for all Keyblade Weilders (I have KH Oc’s other then these don’t ask Longer story they live and basically founded Fortana Haven) I guess the Isle of Light Rose from the Shadow Realm to be just that oh yeah also the Isle of light is literally that kingdom if ya didn’t know
Fortana Haven
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Some Love Nikki BGs for Visualization if I’m Wrong about this from being from Love Nikki Correct me pls and if this is your art sorry and I’ll take it down)
Okay this Place Basically a Modern Fairytale Everything is so Rustic~ but they Have Cafe’s and Stuff~ They’re still very much in Development as a City..or town..or whatever Boss of everything Locket Clover (An OG KH OC) Runs Everything Wonderfully she welcomes everything with open arms and If you wanna run a shop or want a Building for a particular Thing or Activity she’s Pretty open to the idea unless it’s Incredibly Dumb But she will make you get The Wood and Supplies and The Bricks and the Brick Stick Sauce or whatever it’s called she might get give you help constructing but dang is she a firm believer in “DIY” but I like how she’s Determined to Have a Good Balance between Industrial and Rural In fact there is a Mall (God knows how it got there) And that’s pretty much all there is for your Juicy Capitalism Fix She Runs “Hope Stir” Workshop according to Her boyfriend Ephmer It was always Called a workshop but for the longest time she did EVERYTHING Subtle Farmwork And Animal Husbandry ACTUAL Workshop things all cause she wanted to help every Weilder she knew out and made sure they had a place for food and such She is a bit of a Moneyholic but when you’ve been doing what she’s been doing I bet you’d be too overall While it doesn’t have much History yet Fortana Haven (4-Tana is how you say it btw) Is truly well a Haven
Tumblr media
The Crowned Castle
(More Pics for Visuals I don’t think this is from love Nikki but if this is your artwork same applies I’m not gonna be the guy who Claims just cause it’s on google it belongs to everybody or something even though yeah I did find it on google)
The...Crown of the Isle of Light Before We came to the Isle for the first time Apparently Everyone In Fortana thought it was Haunted! Which..Fair enough Before we Placed the Princess Medals (Okay QUICK SUMMARY OF THIS BIT Okay so in the KH Mobile game there’s Medals and I wanted them to be in my story basically They’re Memories formed into powers when all my Oc’s Met the Princess’s Of Heart They Each got a Medal Representing them and then the Medals Restored the Castle I left out some details but basically that’s it) This Castle is the BOMB There’s Cool Pretty Princess Room’s And a Bedroom JUST FOR SLUMBER PARTIES!! And it’s just a good Place to Vibe and Hang out with your friends (I’m sorry I’m about to Lore Dumb all over this place) The Princess’s Fiancé Made a Crown for her before she could put it on he put some of his Subconscious in it poor Eden When she wanted to get stronger for Malleus (Malleus is her adoptive big brother and she was upset cause she felt she wasn’t good enough ran away to get power and found the crown) It really did almost completely overtake her I shudder thinking about it “Kachow”...Ew (The fiancé said that a lot ok) a lotta bad stuff happened here but as selfish as this may sound I feel like I earned my spot here and I wanna keep sharing it with my friends
Tumblr media
The Matteria Deadland
(Also Imagine some Pointy Mountains and some Lite Mech debris)
Man What to say... So Much Happened here as well probably Tragedy I can’t comprehend there is a few good places about this place though Diane likes to Scavange around Here for Interesting Debris Eden doesn’t like the Air around here but she says she finds Interesting Jewels here and Latte says the same thing so there is good to be found here We all come here every so often to try to help..Anything grow but they don’t call this deadland for nothing but still ya can’t give up hope! I wanna grow some beautiful Lillies here one day! Also hey! Also pretty cool name (Matter-RI-a is how you say it btw) All the sadness that happened here it actually did make the land rich in Metal if nothing else there’s even a whole Cavern we found in the mountains...it almost killed us but we found it
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media

Responsible for Making Sure You’re Responsible
Summary: Peter knows he’s hurt badly enough that he can’t just slap a bunch of band-aids on his injuries, and especially the giant, still-oozing puncture wounds on his back and along his shoulders from the tips of Toomes’ wings. But it’s not like he can just stumble into an emergency room and ask to get stitched up. So where to go instead?
May would have a heart attack if she saw him right now, not to mention immediately figure out his secret. Ned would also definitely freak out, probably waking his parents in the process. Mr. Stark was an option, but Peter wasn’t about to bother him, not after how the man had made it crystal clear that he didn’t want anything to do with Peter ever again.
So no hospital, no May, no Ned, and no Mr. Stark just left… Happy.
Or: following his final fight with the Vulture, Peter is left grievously injured and in need of some serious help. Cue Happy to the rescue.

Peter doesn’t know how he made it from the Coney Island Cyclone all the way to Avengers Tower. To be honest, the entire journey was a bit of a blur as his steadily bleeding injuries throbbed painfully in protest from all the web-slinging.
When his feet hit the landing pad of the Tower, Peter distantly wonders why he had decided to come here, of all places. Even through his foggy brain, he knows he’s hurt badly enough that he couldn’t just slap a band-aid on the many deep cuts, burns and bruises littering his whole body, especially the giant puncture wounds on his back and along his shoulders from the tips of Toomes’ wings. But then again, it’s not like he could just stumble into an emergency room and ask to get stitched up. At least, not wearing his original Spider-Man costume, which - though basically rags now - was still far too easily identifiable beneath all the stains and grime.
As for going home, that was definitely ruled out—May would have a heart attack if she saw him right now. Peter could maybe have chanced going to Ned’s, but Ned would have almost definitely freaked out at the sight of him, which would have led to his parents waking up and Peter losing any hope of his secret - not that it was still much of one anymore, but still, he had to try, didn’t he? - staying under wraps. So Ned’s place was out, too. Mr. Stark was another option, but Peter wasn’t about to bother him, not after how the man had made it crystal clear in the form of a forced walk of shame from Brooklyn to Queens - in Hello Kitty pajama pants, no less - that he didn’t want anything to do with Peter ever again.
So no hospital, no May, no Ned, and no Mr. Stark just left… Happy.
It’s definitely not ideal, but the fact remains that Happy’s his best bet right now, and Peter, well—Peter is pretty desperate. And the only place he knows Happy could be was back at the Tower, from where he assumes the man had been overseeing the move before the plane took off and Peter’s night went from  really, really bad to totally screwed.
With a deep, weary sigh Peter limps towards the glass doors, one hand pressed firmly against a shoulder in a futile effort to staunch the worst of the bleeding, surprised to find that the door is unlocked as he steps inside. He’s too out of it to notice that the once well-furnished living room is now completely empty. He passes by the kitchen, looking around at the vacant space. He doesn’t exactly know where he’s going to be honest. There’s a small tingling at the back of his head, the only warning he gets before an unfamiliar face comes around the corner from the hallway, a small squeak of surprise coming from the man - a security guard, by the looks of his uniform - at the sight of him.
“Don’t come any closer! I’ll—I’ll shoot!” the guard cries out, though it comes out shaky, like he’s scared or maybe just inexperienced. All the same Peter doesn’t hesitate to put up his throbbing arms in temporary submission, biting back a groan from the pain. The shaking flashlight suddenly stills on Peter’s chest, the guard taking in the tattered remains of Peter’s homemade suit. His going wide as he exclaims, “Wait—you’re Spider-Man! What are you doing here?” Then, all shakiness gone and replaced with excitement, “Are you here on Avengers business?”
“No, it’s n-nothing like that,” Peter weakly replies. “I actually need to talk to–”
“I heard that you were, like, an honorary Avenger now,” the guard interrupts, seemingly not noticing Peter’s injured state. “Is that true? I mean, I saw that on The Bugle’s Twitter page but I wasn’t sure if it was true. But I guess you did  fight with Iron Man against the Rogue Avengers, which was totally awesome by the way! That basically means you are then, right?”
Peter’s head is spinning from all of the questions, worsening his pounding headache. He closes his eyes beneath what’s left of his mask, gritting his teeth.
The guard must take his silence as affirmation, continuing, “I knew it! My buddy Marv keeps saying there’s no way they’d add a low-level vigilante from Queens to their roster, but then he’s always been more of a Cap guy and anyway, he’s from Brooklyn so what does he–”
“S-sorry, but—where’s Happy Hogan?” Peter interrupts with as much force as he can. He’s starting to feel really lightheaded, and he can’t afford to let himself pass out in front of an overexcited Spider-Man fan, and especially one who was obsessed enough to believe any Spider-Man news that came from The Bugle—a news site that Peter knows for a  fact  offers a substantial reward for any proof of Spider-Man’s identity. “L-look, I need to speak to Happy right now. It’s a-an emergency.”
“Uh, okay, sure,” the guard replies after a moment, looking slightly put out even as he pulls out his cell phone and starts swiping through it, putting it up to his ear as he continues to eye Peter curiously. Normally Peter would have no issue hearing the ringing and Happy picking up, but he’s just so tired. Instead finds himself zoning out even as the guard starts rambling to the other person about Spider-Man showing up, until–
Peter startles when someone pokes him in the arm, looking up to see the guard is now standing right in front of him, holding out his phone. “He says he wants to talk to you.”
Trying to blink the exhaustion out of his eyes, Peter nods and takes the device. “Hey, Happy.”
“Kid,” Happy replies with a sigh, the relief in his tone something Peter’s never heard from him before. “You have no idea how glad I am that you’re okay.”
“Me too,” Peter agrees without thinking, then blinking slowly again, “but uh, about that–”
“Look, this line isn’t exactly secure,” Happy interrupts, and now Peter hears voices shouting in the background, along with what sounds like large trucks rumbling, “and neither is the tower anymore, for that matter. How about you head to my place? We’re just about finished getting the tech loaded and off the beach.”
“Oh, um, okay,” Peter replies numbly, the fog in his brain clearing just enough for him to memorize Happy’s address—relieved when he realizes it’s still in Manhattan, and in the Upper East Side at that. Happy doesn’t really come across as a glitzy kind of guy, but Peter supposes it makes sense that Mr. Stark would pay him very well, considering his job title and all.
“...still there, kid? You get that?”
“Wha’?” Peter asks dumbly, pulled out of a second daze in as many minutes. Man, he really needs to focus if he wants to make it to Happy’s in one piece. “Oh y-yeah, yeah. I’ll meet you there, Happy.”
There’s a pause then, as if Happy is mulling something over. But whatever it is he must let it go, saying instead, “I’ll see you there. And no dawdling at the churro stand, you hear me?”
The line clicks before Peter can reply. Wearily he drops the phone from his ear, passing it back to the guard. “Thanks.”
Not wanting to invite further conversation, he immediately starts limping back toward the landing pad—only to come to a halt when the guard calls after him.
With a sigh Peter turns around, “Yeah?”
But where he expected the guard to bombard him with more questions, or maybe ask him for an autograph, the man looks only worried now. “Just wanted to check, uh—you sure you’re gonna be okay? ‘Cause to be honest, you don’t look too good.”
Peter smiles behind the torn mask, feeling a tiny bit of warmth spark in his chest at the man’s concern. It’s almost enough to overtake the cold that’s already seeped into him—Peter suppressing a shudder as the two war for dominance.
“Thanks, b-but, I’ll be okay.”
“If you say so,” the guard says after a few moments, clearly not buying it. But he doesn’t say anything else and after a pause Peter turns away again, stumbling over to the doors and back outside. The chill of the night air seems to sink right into his bones, and this time Peter can’t stop the whole-body shiver that wracks him.
“Okay, you j-just gotta make it to Happy’s and then he’ll s-stitch you up and you’ll be f-fine,” he says to himself—taking a deep breath as he tries to shore up enough strength for the trip. “C’mon Spider-Man. Just this one l-last thing and then you can rest.”
With those words of self-encouragement Peter sends a web out and jumps over the edge, falling and falling only to shoot out another web and clumsily catch himself—ignoring the deep stabbing pain as his bodyweight pulls on the injured shoulder, feeling another burst of warmth flow down his back.
Gritting his teeth, Peter takes aim for the Upper East Side, willing away the tendrils of darkness that keep pulling at his mind as he flies through the air, focusing on nothing else but getting to Happy’s place and continuing to talk to himself just to stay awake.
“You got th-this, Spider-Man. Just get to Happy’s and th-then you can s-sleep,” he whispers just as Happy’s building comes into view.
With no small amount of giddy relief he lands on the small balcony and wrenches open the sliding glass door.
“S-s-see Happy? No d-dawdling,” he announces with a lazy smile, only to belatedly realize the place is still dark. Distantly his mind registers that he must have beat Happy here.
For a few moments Peter sways, before he hears a dripping sound.
“Wha’s l-leakin’?” he asks the empty room. He glances down when he hears yet another drip, blinking dumbly when he sees it’s coming from him.
His blood, landing onto what has to be super-expensive carpet. Shit!
“Ohhh no,” Peter whispers, looking around in a panicked daze. Everything is starting to go blurry now and no—he can’t pass out here! Happy already barely tolerates him… what will he say if he comes back to find Peter ruined his floor?
“Think, Peter, think,”  he says to himself, before stumbling through the apartment toward the hallway—cursing when he trips over the edge of the coffee table, knocking over a plant on his way down. For a second he just breathes as he lies on the floor, eyes closing as he nearly gives in to the exhaustion… only to grit his teeth and stumble back onto his feet.
He leans heavily against the hallway wall for support as he staggers toward the bathroom.
“M-made it,” he whispers as he crosses the threshold. He clutches at whatever is within reach as he hauls himself across the tiled floor, spots gathering in his vision. But by some miracle he eventually manages to collapse over the edge of the tub, curling up against the far corner of the porcelain.
With a sigh of relief Peter finally allows his eyes to close and stay closed, telling himself that he’s safe now. After all, Happy is on his way, and he’ll handle everything for Peter, just like he does for Mr. Stark, right?
Right,  Peter thinks.
It’s the last thought he has for a while.
_______________________________________________________________
“Come on! It’s a frickin’ yield sign!” Happy yells as he blares his horn at the car in front of him. He’s been stuck at this intersection for over seven minutes now, chipping away at what little patience he has left now that he’s back in Manhattan, yet still too far from Peter.
Because frankly, it’s a miracle the kid is even alive after a crash like that. The minutes after he’d first seen the scrawled note - during which he’d frantically searched the wreckage for a matching teenaged vigilante to go with the copious bloodstains strewn about the sand - will forever haunt Happy, especially knowing that Peter had been on the downed plane.
And while at first he’d been relieved to hear that Spider-Man was at the tower and looking for him, when he’d heard how out of it the kid sounded on the phone… well, let’s just say it had reminded him far too much of a different reckless superhero he knew, albeit back in the man’s less sober days.
But where back then he’d been saving Tony from choking on his own vomit, tonight had raised red flags in Happy’s mind for other reasons. Because Peter wasn’t drunk or high, no—he was injured, badly enough that he was spacing out and slurring his words.
Happy can only hope it’s just a minor concussion, and not something worse. Because if anything happened to that kid, he would never forgive himself for it, and not only because Tony would have his head. Peter’s aunt was at home waiting for him, probably wondering where the hell he is at twelve-thirty in the morning on a Saturday night.
He recalls then what he’d told the kid not a week earlier, when Peter had called while he’d been busy and distracted preparing for Moving Day: "Stay away from anything dangerous. I'm responsible for making sure you're responsible, okay?"
Happy chews on the inside of his cheek, feeling another cry of worry-induced—and if he’s honest, guilt-induced—road rage rise up in his throat, only to force himself to swallow it back down.
He’s not going to let himself lose it, not yet. Because Peter has to be okay. He has to be, because Happy doesn’t know how he’ll live with himself if he isn’t.
It takes him twenty minutes before he arrives at his apartment building, not stopping to talk to his doorman as he quickly gets into the elevator.
“Come on, come on…” Happy mumbles to himself as he impatiently punches at his floor’s button as the polished elevator doors slide shut in front of him.
He all but runs out when the doors slide open on his floor—only to nearly crash into his next door neighbor Ms. Devine and her yappy shih-tzu, Mr. Fluffers.
“Sorry, Ellie,” Happy hastily apologizes, then when Mr. Fluffers growls at him, adds in a faux-casual voice, “Taking the dog for a late night walk?”
“Fluffy here runs on his own schedule,” the older woman responds kindly enough, only to narrow her eyes as if sniffing out a chance for gossip fodder. “And what has you hurrying home in such a rush after midnight?”
Making sure Spider-Man isn’t bleeding to death in my apartment. “Just checking that I didn’t leave my oven on.”
Ms. Devine continues to stare suspiciously for a few moments, before smiling tiredly and saying, “I’ve done that before.”
“Haven’t we all,” Happy says with a polite smile as he walks around her, reaching in his pocket for his keys. “Have a good evening,” he adds rather dismissively, not looking back at what he is sure is a disapproving glare.
He waits until she turns the corner before racing down the rest of the hallway. Happy stops at his door, hands shaking as he fumbles to slide the key into the lock on the knob, scared of what he’ll find inside. He braces himself as he steps into the dark entryway, shutting the door behind him—careful to lock the deadbolt just in case Ms. Devine gets any ideas and decides to make an impromptu housecall.
“Peter?” he calls out as he walks further in, feeling around the wall for the light switch, his hand meeting something wet. He finds the switch and the lights come on—only to gasp at the sight just mere feet away from his face. All along the light grey wall of his living room and turning down the hallway are long, broken, halting finger trails of red. With growing horror, Happy realizes it can only be one thing— blood.
Fear shoots through Happy as he turns away from the blood-smeared wall, finding a trail of red droplets along with a plant lying on its side on the floor—its dirt burrowing into the carpet and mixing with more blood stains, as though whoever knocked it over had landed in the mess and only barely managed to get back on their feet.
“Oh shit,” Happy breathes out as he follows the bloodied dirt trail, leading to the bathroom down the hall, finding the door open with the lights on. “Peter?” he frantically calls out.
Stepping a foot inside, it looks like something straight out of a horror movie. There’s smears of blood across the floor, as well as a handprint on the edge of the sink. Happy’s eyes scan over the scene before they settle on the blue and red— too much red —covered figure lying in the tub.
“Oh my God,” Happy exclaims as he rushes forward and bends over the edge, hands hovering over Peter’s all-too-still form. Shit shit shit!!!
“Kid? Peter?” Happy calls as he shakes the kid’s shoulder, gently at first and then more forcefully—closing his eyes and taking a deep breath in relief when the kid lets out a weak, pained groan.
“H’py? S’ you?” Peter mumbles, lifting his head, the goggles of his ridiculous homemade mask squinting in the lighting.
“Yeah, it’s me,” Happy says with no small amount of relief. Placing his hands under the kid’s armpits, he helps Peter’s slumping form straighten a little bit, alarm growing when he spots a pool of blood beneath the kid’s form, standing out against the pristine white tub floor. Happy reaches up and carefully peels off the torn remnants of the mask, revealing Peter’s pale and dazed face. His curls are slightly damp and sticking to his sweaty forehead. Unsure what to ask first, Happy blurts out, “What are you doing in the bathtub?”
Peter blinks slowly. “May says tomato sauce is… is hard t’ get out…”
Happy brows pull together in confusion. “Tomato sauce? Kid—what are you talking about? You’re bleeding.”
Peter nods slowly, his chin dropping to his chest as he blinks with half-lidded eyes. “S’ what I said…” he mumbles, his eyes closing further.
“Hey, hey, hey—no falling asleep on me. I have to make sure you don’t have a concussion or anything,” Happy tells him sternly.
“But m’ tired,” Peter mumbles, words slurring together slightly.
“I know, and you can sleep soon. Let’s just get you out of the tub and cleaned up first, okay?”
“M’kay,” Peter mumbles, blinking sluggishly.
Happy helps him out of the tub, practically carrying him with how wobbly the kid’s legs are, and sits him down on the closed toilet seat. “Do you promise to stay upright if I let you go?”
Peter gives the tiniest of nods, before slowly slumping sideways until his head and the ball of his shoulder hit the tiled wall. Happy waits until he feels confident Peter is safely propped before nodding back, patting him gently on the arm and leaving the bathroom. He practically runs into the kitchen, grabbing two pills of prescription strength ibuprofen and filling a glass of water heading back the way he came.
“Here kid, take these,” he says, depositing the pills in Peter’s open palm and then holding the glass for him after he puts them in his mouth, helping the kid take a sip to get them down, then a few long gulps to quench his thirst. Satisfied, Happy sets down the glass and moves to the cabinet under the sink, pulling out his heavy-duty first aid kit.
For as much as he had ignored the kid the past few months—and he’d be beating himself up about that for a good long while after this, no doubt—Happy had taken one aspect of his reluctant side gig of Spider-Man’s Keeper very seriously from the get-go, and that was preparing for a night just like this. One where Peter would call because he was injured and needed help getting patched up, and Happy would grumble but give him his address and tell him to swing over.
As such, he had promptly taken his SI company credit card details and ordered an expensive, industrial-sized first aid kit to keep at home. He had hoped he wouldn’t ever have to use it, of course. But for now, he just finds he’s glad he had the foresight to plan for such a scenario—knowing that if he hadn’t, they’d be in a lot more trouble right now than they already are.
“M’ really sorry, H’ppy,” Peter whispers as he watches Happy unclasp the kit and start pulling out supplies, carefully laying them out on the bathroom counter. Happy glances over at him, relieved to see the kid seems more coherent now that he’s both hydrated and medicated. “I didn’t... didn’t know where to go, and m-May would freak out—”
“Kid, it's okay. I’m glad you’re here and not bleeding out in some alley,” Happy interjects as he grabs some face cloths from the small bathroom linen closet. Finally, with everything set up on the counter within easy reach, Happy turns back to Peter.. “Let’s get you out of that hoodie so I can see how bad it is.”
Getting the top part of the kid’s homemade costume off of him is a bit of a struggle, but Happy takes it slow as Peter struggles to lift his arms above his head, parts of the fabric sticking to his skin with dried blood. Once it’s off, Happy’s stomach drops at the sight of the dark bruises blooming across the kid’s torso, as well as the cuts and deep puncture marks on his left shoulder. Just from being at the crash sight he knew it had been one hell of a fight, but seeing the consequences in the form of the actual wounds littering Peter’s young body brings it home in an entirely different way.
“Happy?” Peter’s voice takes him out of his thoughts, looking up to see a puzzled look on the kid’s overly pale face.
“Yeah,” Happy nods, blinking a few times and forcing himself to focus on the task at hand. He turns the faucet on, rolling up his shirt sleeves and washing his hands and forearms thoroughly before running the face cloths under warm water, wringing them out. “This might sting a little,” he warns as he kneels down in front of Peter, bringing a cloth down to one of the sluggishly bleeding cuts, earning a pained groan.
After a few minutes, Happy’s managed to clean and bandage the cuts. The two puncture wounds on the kid’s back were shallow enough that they only needed to be cleaned and bandaged, but the two on his chest just below his clavicles would both need a couple of stitches. The only problem being that said kid is half-asleep and fading fast right in front of him.
“I’m gonna have to stitch these chest wounds up, alright? Think you can hold on for a few more minutes?” Happy asks.
Peter blinks heavily a few times, clearly struggling to keep his eyes open. “Yeah.”
“Okay,” Happy says as he reaches up for the first aid kit from the sink countertop, grabbing the suture packet inside. He wipes away the blood and disinfects the left-side wound first—being the more serious of the two—before taking out the pre-threaded needle from the package. “Ready?” he asks.
“Yeah,” Peter replies with a shaky nod, cautiously eyeing the needle before closing his eyes as if bracing himself.
“Try not to squirm too much, kid,” Happy says before getting to work. To his surprise, besides a slight flinch with every pull of the thread Peter remains obediently still, and Happy wonders if he’s had to do this himself a time or two—feeling a pang of distress at the idea of the kid alone in his bathroom with nothing but his aunt’s sewing kit for supplies, biting down on a washcloth to muffle any noises of pain as he shakingly attends to all manner of jagged cuts and wounds.
He wants to think he’s just being dramatic imagining such a thing, but still he refuses to ask Peter—deciding not knowing is better than having his suspicions confirmed. As it is, the kid stays completely stoic even as Happy finishes stitching up the left wound and moves on to the right, being sure to be careful and thorough but still going as fast he can—knowing the kid is operating on his last reserves.
“Alright, your torso is good to go,” he says as he finishes pressing a bandage over the second line of stitches, looking back up at Peter. “I need you to tell me the truth now. Do you have any other wounds that need seeing to? Because this isn’t the time for modesty if you do.”
Peter blinks slowly, before looking down at his legs. Happy watches in patient silence as the kid seems to take stock of himself—taking the chance to give a cursory once-over of the kid’s sweats. He personally doesn’t see any stains that seem to indicate more than shallow cuts, and is relieved when the kid looks back up only to shake his head.
“I think ‘m okay now,” the kid says, voice weak but tone honest enough that Happy believes him.
“Alright,” Happy says simply, getting back to his feet—ignoring the way his knees crack and protest at the movement. “I’ll be right back. Try to drink more water if you can. No passing out while I’m gone.”
Peter doesn’t reply but also doesn’t slump any further, which Happy takes as acknowledgement enough before he swiftly moves back into the hallway, heading for his bedroom. He grabs one of his old Stillman’s Gym t-shirts and a pair of drawstring sweatpants that no longer fit him before going back to the bathroom—heartened to see the kid is still awake, albeit barely.
“Lift your arms,” he orders, watching as Peter does so as much as his injuries will allow before pulling the t-shirt over the kid’s head and getting his arms through the holes. “Think you can stand up and get those ruined pants off?” he asks next, Peter taking a deep breath before nodding determinedly. Happy can’t help but hover as he watches the kid stumble to his feet, using one arm to lean against the wall for support as with the other he fumbles with his waistband. Happy pointedly doesn’t watch, just leans over and stares at where the torn sweats are pooled at the kid’s feet as holds open the clean pair of sweatpants so Peter can step into them, lifting them up to the kid’s knees and letting go as soon as Peter has a good enough grip to pull them up the rest of the way himself.
Leaning back up, Happy does one last visual assessment to make sure he’s not missing any hidden injuries. Satisfied, he carefully wraps an arm around the kid’s uninjured lower back, leading him out the bathroom door and down the hallway.
It’s a testament to how absolutely exhausted Peter must be that he doesn’t ask any questions as Happy guides him into the guest bedroom, pulling back the covers and helping him settle in beneath the sheets.
“Th’ks, Hap,” Peter mumbles, eyes closing. He’s out almost immediately. Happy shakes his head as he watches the kid for a few more moments, making sure that his breaths are deep and even and pressing two fingers to the kid’s neck, double-checking his pulse. But everything seems to be fine, and Happy lets out a long sigh, giving himself just a few seconds to collect his thoughts as he tiredly rubs a hand over his face.
Tonight was close—way, way too close. And besides that sociopath Toomes, the blame for it rests squarely on exactly two people’s shoulders—neither of which are Peter.
With that thought in mind, Happy gives the kid one last look before walking to the door. He closes it most of the way but leaves it just open enough so that he can peek in later, making a mental note to leave Peter a glass of water and some more pills for when he wakes up.
He silently makes his way back into the living room—pointedly not looking at the dried blood streaked across the walls and staining the carpet—and pulls out his cellphone.
He’s not too surprised to see he has a dozen missed calls from just the last hour, most of them from his team with the exception of one from Pepper and two from Tony. He debates calling Pepper back first—having no doubt she needs some answers about exactly how everything went to shit tonight so they can start getting ahead of the morning news cycle—but in the end selects Tony’s name. He finds himself mildly stunned when the man picks up on the first ring.
“Hap?”
“It’s me, boss.”
“Good. Listen, Fri’s been keeping me updated on the crash and apparently there’s evidence the kid was there but ran off, is that–”
“Don’t worry, I found him,” Happy says with a sigh. “He’s injured but he’ll survive.”
“Thank god,” Tony replies, and the sheer relief in his voice is enough that Happy is left surprised by him for the second time in under a minute. Tony wasn’t usually so transparently sincere when it came to those outside his inner circle, but his genuine concern for Peter couldn’t be more clear. Happy can’t help but wonder when that development happened, though—on second thought—he supposes he’s not all that shocked it did. The kid can be annoyingly endearing.
“That said, you’re gonna have to call May Parker and come up with a whopper of a good story,” Happy continues, “‘cause I sure as hell ain’t taking him back to Queens yet, what with the shape he’s in.”
“Sure, sure, I’ll figure out something.” A pause. “How bad is it? And where are you two? Does he need–”
“He went to the tower looking for me, after. One of the guards rang, and I told him to meet me at my place,” Happy explains. “Kid took some serious licks during the fight with Toomes but I managed to get him patched up. He’s sleeping now.”
“Good, that’s good.”
And now they’re at the part of the conversation that Happy would rather not deal with. But it’s no longer something he can afford to avoid, not after stitching up the passed out child down the hall. Because Peter is just a child—only  fifteen, for Christ’s sake. Happy swipes a hand over his face again, shaking his head—hating that he ever let himself forget that.
“Listen, bo—Tony,” he begins, “you know I’m not one to actually speak my mind too often, but this was… Look. I don’t know much but I do know that kid needs his suit back, and probably a whole hell of a lot more from you—from  both of us—from now on. Because this? This was an absolute shitshow as it was, and if he hadn’t been okay, I don’t know if—”
“You don’t have to tell me how bad I fucked up, Hap, I'm well aware,” Tony interjects, but there’s no anger in his tone, just weariness. “And just so we’re clear, this isn’t gonna happen again—I’ve already got a plan. As soon as the kid’s healed up he’s coming out to the compound. I’ve decided to make him a full team member—got a new nanosuit ready for him and everything.”
Happy frowns. He’s not sure making Peter an Avenger is any better for his safety than taking his suit away was. But then, if there’s one thing Happy tries to keep out of, it’s all the team drama and politics that Tony seems to constantly be dealing with. As long as the kid’s identity is safe, he supposes it might not be a bad idea—if Peter even wants it, that is.
“Just make sure you let him know it’s a choice and not a demand, boss.”
“Of course I’ll make sure he knows that,” Tony says irritably, but Happy knows him well enough to recognize that he’s only annoyed because he understands  exactly why Happy felt the need to say as much. After all, taking the kid to Germany, making Happy his main contact, keeping him out of the loop with the Toomes investigation, taking away the suit… Tony hadn’t given Peter much choice in anything up to now.
Happy thinks about pressing the point, but decides it’s not worth it. Him and Tony might not be on the exact same page but they’re at least reading the same book, and that’ll have to do for now. In any case, Happy doesn’t intend to go anywhere, so if the time comes to set Tony straight again where the kid is concerned—he’ll be there then, too.
“Alright, well, if that’s everything for now I think I’m gonna try to catch a few winks while the kid is out,” Happy says. “He should be recovered enough to go home tomorrow, so you can tell his aunt to expect him then.”
“Got it, and yeah, I should hit the hay soon too,” Tony replies with a long sigh.  “Get myself ready for the PR storm that’s no doubt already brewing.”
Silence again, and Happy thinks about apologizing for what happened—knowing all too well that if he’d just listened to Peter’s friend when the kid popped up on his screen, this whole mess might have been mostly prevented. But he clenches his jaw instead. He has things to apologize for, certainly—but it’s not Tony who needs to hear them.
“Tell Peter I'll be in touch soon,” Tony continues when Happy doesn't respond.  “And Hap? Thank you.”
Happy pauses, uncertain exactly which thing in particular he's being thanked for. It could be for looking after the kid, or for saying his piece just now, or simply general gratitude for all the years he's faithfully had Tony’s back. He supposes it doesn't matter which one it is though, not really. The reply is the same.
“No problem, boss.”
With a small smile, he hangs up.
In a span of an hour, Happy’s managed to scrub every last drop of blood from the floors, walls and the bathroom. The last thing he wanted was for the kid to wake up and see the mess in the morning. He also threw the tattered remains of his suit in the washing machine and then into the dryer—one less thing for Peter to worry about.
Tossing the bloody used paper towels in a plastic bag, Happy disposes of it in the kitchen trash can, leaving it hopefully out of sight and out of mind.
If only the sight of an unconscious and injured Peter in his bathtub could be as easily forgotten.
Casting his guilt aside for now, he grabs a glass from the cabinet and fills it up halfway, along with a few ibuprofen in a plastic Dixie cup. Turning off all the lights, Happy heads back down the hallway to the guest bedroom.
He quietly pushes the door open with his foot and walks over to the bed, placing the water and pills on the nightstand within easy reach. Happy’s eyes fall on the kid, who is passed out, his mouth hanging open slightly. Another small smile finds its way to his face as an odd feeling spreads through his chest at the sight. Before he can talk himself out of it, Happy reaches a hand out, placing his palm on the kid’s forehead. He tells himself it's to check for signs of fever, but if it's also to physically reassure himself the kid is going to be okay, well, nobody’s gonna know anyway.
“You’re gonna make my hair turn grey before its time, kid,” he whispers, receiving a soft sleep-sigh in return when he drops his hand. “And that’s only if Tony doesn’t manage it first.”
With a fond shake of his head, Happy makes his way out of the room, sparing one last glance at the sleeping teen before closing the door behind himself, leaving it open a crack once again. He heads to his room, choosing to leave his door open as well so he can hear should Peter wake up and need him. Going through his nightly bedtime ritual, his mind races with everything on his agenda for tomorrow—dealing with Damage Control’s rather displeased (to put it mildly) reaction to the plane crash and the almost-stolen tech, the inevitable PR nightmare, and finally, scheduling security detail for Pepper as she makes the rounds of meetings she'll undoubtedly have handling her end of all the former.
But right now, those things don’t seem as important. The important thing is the injured fifteen year old sleeping in his guest bedroom. The very one who he was supposed to be watching out for, and who he completely and utterly let down.
As he lays down in bed and turns off his lamp, Happy vows to himself to be better from now on. Better at being there for Peter, even if that involves the kid talking his ears off with stories about school, his adventures patrolling Queens or all the annoying pop culture references he can't seem to stop making. From seeing everything Tony’s been through he knows the superhero business can be a lonely one, and Happy doesn’t want that for Peter. The kid should know he has more than just his teenage buddy in his corner. Which is why as soon as he can tomorrow, he is going to tell Peter exactly that.
With that last thought in mind, Happy closes his eyes, soon drifting off.
________________________________________________________________
It’s close to seven-thirty in the morning and Happy is sitting at the center island in the kitchen, all dressed and ready for the day, sipping from a mug of coffee. Despite it being Saturday, he still has a lot of work to do, starting with driving Peter home.
He’d better get the kid up now so he has a chance to wake up a little and eat something before he goes home and faces the music with his aunt—Happy shooting off a quick text to Tony asking what cover story he gave Mrs. Parker so he can make sure their stories line up. And once he’s got that taken care of with the kid, Happy can apologize to him for the dismissiveness he’s shown over the past few months and explain how things are going to be different from now on.
First though, he needs to get Peter’s suit out of the dryer. But when Happy goes to grab it, he finds the machine empty. Confused, he heads back down the hall, stopping outside the guest room and knocking softly. “Peter?”
He’s met with silence on the other end. Happy’s brows pull together as worry pools in his gut. “Kid? I’m coming in.”
But when he opens the door, he finds it to also be empty—the bed neatly made. Happy walks further into the room, seeing that the window is slightly ajar, the curtains gently blowing in the wind.
“So much for that talk,” Happy mutters to himself with a sigh, rubbing a hand over his face. He can only hope the kid doesn't blow his cover with his aunt. Should Peter reveal everything, he has no doubt his phone—being the only connection the kid has at the moment to reach Tony—will be blowing up with calls and texts from an understandably irate May Parker. While Happy is personally of the mind that she deserves to know the truth, he’d rather not deal with putting out that particular fire on top of everything else on his plate today.
He’s about to walk out of the room, but something on the nightstand catches his eye. Happy goes over and picks up a small folded piece of paper, finding neat handwriting inside.
  Dear Happy,
Thanks for helping me last night and letting me stay over. I would have let you know I was leaving but you were sleeping and after how late I made you stay up, I didn't want to bother you.
Also, don't be mad but I thought you should know that you snore REALLY loud. I'm no doctor but you might want to get that checked out.
Sincerely,
Peter Parker
“That little shit,” Happy murmurs, reading over the part about his snoring again with no small amount of disgruntlement. Yet all the same he makes a mental note to call his doctor later in the day and make an appointment.
After all, he might have missed out for the time being on the big talk he had planned. But actually paying attention and taking Peter more seriously? Letting him know in every way he can that he’s listening, that the kid can trust that he’ll be there if he needs him?
Taking responsibility for all that begins right now.

[Part 1] If you like emotional idea for oneshot, I have one about Wings AU for Metal Bat: What if blackened feathers on the wings representing bottled-up emotions? Despite his hot-headed and outspoken personality, Badd still has alot of black feathers on his white wings because of the burden as a hero, a big brother, and a single guardian for Zenko, especially after the death of their parents. Garou on the opposite has none of it because he let his emotions out and has kinda 'idgaf' personality.
[Part 2] After they're together and getting comfortable with eachother, Badd's wings little-by-little become pure white again like him in the past as he slowly but surely opened up about himself to Garou.. 💖 You can make it as emotional as possible, hurt/comfort is OK too! 😉👌✨ I apologized if it's not so good and for making it Batarou-hinted again I'm so sorry 😅💦 Thank you for always listening to my random asks, hope you have lots of good days in new year! 😊👍💕💖💝🌸🌻
I’m soso sorry I have no excuse for taking so long to write this 😅 I hope it is worth the wait
Understandings
Garou/Metal Bat Wings! AU oneshot
Hurt/comfort, angst to fluff, violence, death mentions
Badd’s eyes snapped open as the hush of the train was interrupted by a voice resounding from the intercom, declaring their upcoming stop.
Gazing out the window, he barely caught sight of a decorative sign as it flashed by-
WELCOME TO K CITY
The other passengers started to stir as well, some glancing in his direction. A young boy stared at him fixedly. Badd tried to smile genuinely and gave him a small wave. The kid’s eyes widened and he nudged the woman in the seat beside him and pointed towards Badd. She turned in his direction, her brow furrowing when she caught sight of him.
He slowly slumped further into his seat and looked back out the window, regretting his decision to take public transit.
The Hero Association had not-so-subtly requested that heroes “refrain from excessive public interaction unrelated to your heroic duties” in the weeks following the defeat of the Monster Association. Though they were victorious, the media was still a storm of mixed views on the integrity and commitment of heroes after the blow they had been dealt.
Badd rubbed his temple absently, trying to ignore the ache in his head that had been spreading since morning. Months ago, I’d have assumed that kid was a fan, probably would’ve offered to pose for a photo... He clicked on his phone to make himself look busy and stared at his lockscreen. It was an old picture of a much younger Zenko beaming, her ivory wings spread wide with glee as she cradled a scraggly tabby.
His phone screen went black again, and he sighed defeatedly at the sight of his own dejected reflection. The train slowed to a halt as it pulled into the station, and one by one everyone filed into the aisle. He tried not to notice the pure white wings on the backs of the passengers lined up in front of him as they walked out into the city.
Doesn’t mean shit. Anyone can go to a cosmetics store and get those white dyes. Even still, he glanced over his shoulder, anxiously checking to be sure he had every inch of jet black covered.
Nearly a year ago, the first gray patches had appeared.
Though the initial blow of his parents death was unbearable, he forced himself to find the strength to smile, excel at his hero duties, and maintain his cocky attitude.
But as the months went by, it seemed the more effort he gave into being a hero and a caretaker for Zenko, the more the dark stains would spread.
His phone chimed, and he pulled it from his pocket, slinging his bat over his shoulder casually. He froze as Zenko’s name above the all caps message sent a flash of anxiety through him, but it was quickly washed away by the picture she had attached. It was a rather blurred selfie, but she was smiling, posing with a slick brown creature pawing the glass behind her.
OTTERS ARE SO CUTE! I WANT ONE! she wrote.
Of course. Her class had taken a trip to the zoo for the day, and he’d seen her off with them before departing on his own. Badd had wanted to accompany her as a chaperone, but previous experience had taught him that his old school teachers had never quite forgiven him for being such a problematic student. He continued on, making his way in the direction of the dense forest, which framed the city’s entire eastern edge. The buildings and streets ended abruptly as he reached a wooden arch. The faded gray letters etched into the timber read
K CITY NATURE PARK
Beyond it was a stony path, forking in one direction toward an open area dotted with benches and gazebos, the other leading to a formidable wooden staircase. The top was barely visible from where Badd stood, and the wood creaked as he took the first step. He twirled his bat absently as he ascended, taking in the sounds and the overwhelming green that was notably absent for miles surrounding his home. When was the last time I’ve been to a place like this? Maybe I should bring Zenko sometime... The smell brought memories buried deep in his mind to the surface. He recalled how he’d raced up and down the steps, showing off for his parents as they made the climb with him.
“I don’t care about the way it looks! But keeping all those bad feelings hidden away, it’ll wear you down, big bro...”
Even though he tried to never let Zenko see his current state, it was impossible to completely keep it from her. He hated the idea of covering his wings, but her concern about him had become unbearably overwhelming. He just needed more time to fix things...
He turned back toward the path, which lead into an aged stone temple on the shore of a shimmering lake.
Badd was so overcome by the nostalgia of the view, he nearly overlooked the crouched figure on the roof, completely still, save for the ruffling of his feathers in the gaining wind.
He was crouched low, his snowy wings half unfolded defensively.
His golden eyes narrowed as Badd instinctively gripped his bat in both hands, twisting his face in anger. The man rose slowly, never taking his eyes off him, and stepped over the ledge. His outstretched wings caught the wind and he landed silently.
The sound of the first, sparse droplets of rain hitting stone filled the stillness between them.
“You…” Badd growled through gritted teeth
“Metal Bat…”
His scowl gave way to a slight smirk, and he closed the distance between them in one fluid movement. He stopped just short of Badd’s reach, unflinching as Badd raised his bat menacingly.
“You look like shit.”
“Garou!” Badd yelled as he unleashed a fury of blows, hitting only raindrops as his opponent nimbly evaded each strike.
“You’re not supposed to be here.” Badd hissed, reeling as Garou leapt behind him.
“You’re supposed to be back in that cesspool you patrol,” He lunged, catching the full force of Badd’s swing in his hand, stopping it midair. “I’ll do whatever I like.” Badd lost his footing as Garou effectively disarmed him. He was sent crashing to the ground before he could recover.
The sky seemed to open at once, releasing an unrelenting torrent of rain. Badd lifted himself, brushing aside the dark strands of hair that clung to his face, squinting through the storm. Garou’s taunting grin had vanished, replaced with a look of disbelief.
“Where’s that Fightin’ Spirit you got?” Garou tossed the bat aside with a clang. He arched a brow as he stepped closer, nearly towering over Badd. “What the hell is wrong with you,” he said darkly, lowering himself until his face was mere inches away from Badd’s.
“Damn you,” Badd cursed, pushing him back to an arm’s length. He unfolded his wet, heavy wings slowly. The downpour had washed away the white he’d covered them with, revealing the dense, black feathers that threatened to overtake him entirely. “Can't you see?”
Without hesitation, Garou half dragged him across the muddy pathway. He roughly shoved him into the dimly lit temple, staying forebodingly quiet. Badd thudded up against the dry stone wall, visibly shaking with chills. Even as his sight adjusted, Garou was hardly recognizable as he practically blended into the shadows of the temple. His eyes seemed to glow as he gave him an accusatory stare.
“You’re a hell of a mess.”
“No shit.”
Garou only scoffed in response.
“Shut up,” Badd said as he hung his head, his disheveled hair hanging low over his face, “you’re the last person I would want to see me like this.”
“But I do see. I see people like this every damn day, but never someone like you.” He paused, but Badd gave no reply.
Someone like me? he questioned silently.
“‘Spose that’s why you’re hiding it then…”
“Damn right that’s why,” Badd glared up at him, “Not ‘cause I give a shit what people think. Because a hero’s gotta be more than just physically strong. I’ve gotta be unwavering, someone that people can believe in…” Badd’s words trailed off quietly.
“God, you’re spouting nonsense too.” Despite his harsh words, the usual malice in his tone had faded. Garou took a step closer, but kept his distance. “Clearly you do give a shit what people think then-”
“I’m just doing what I have to!” Badd shouted over him, “So that I can be Metal Bat. So that I can be a hero Zenko can look up to, and someone who would’ve made my parents proud-”
“It’s killing you.” Garou’s flat tone echoed in the hollow room. Outside, the wind rose to a howling rage.
Badd stared dumbfounded, unable to muster the wit to reply.
“I don’t care what kinda hero you’re trying to be, you’re all the same to me. But if you keep goin’ the way you are, the only hero you’ll be is a dead one. You can’t save anyone if you can’t save yourself.” Badd flinched as Garou crouched in front of him, casually touching his forehead with the back of his hand in an unexpectedly gentle way.
He made a soft tch, hinted with disapproval, and seated himself squarely across from Badd.
“You’re feverish, and you sure as hell didn’t come ready to fight, so why are you here?”
“I thought… It would make me happy,” Badd mumbled, almost incoherently as his eyelids flickered.
“Oi!” Garou caught Badd by the shoulders as he slumped forward. “You don’t get to tap out now!”
Badd gave him a weak grin.
“Like hell I would.”
——————————
Badd came to slowly, blinking in confusion as he woke to a room he didn’t recognize.
An orange hue shone across the bare, white walls, emitting from the single window opposite of where he laid. He was sprawled out on a faded, woven couch, which appeared to be the sole piece of furniture in the empty room.
How the hell’d I get here?
He jerked toward the sound of a doorknob turning, followed by the screech of old door hinges. Garou appeared, pulling back his hood as he entered, disheveling his silvery hair in the process. His face tightened as Badd sat himself upright cautiously.
“You?”
Garou paused in the middle of removing his jacket, making eye contact briefly before quickly averting his gaze.
“‘Bout time you woke up.” He hung his jacket on the doorknob casually.
Badd glanced around the tiny apartment, realization finally hitting him.
“You… you’ve been living here this whole time?”
“Didn't realize you were lookin’ for me. Figured all  you heroes wanted me gone just as much as I wanted to get away from you.”
“I wasn’t looking for you! And don’t lump me in with everyone else like that.”
“Sorry.” The apology in Garou’s voice sounded irritatingly sincere to Badd. He was studying a loose white feather a little too intently, twisting it between his fingers. “Guess your fever broke overnight then, you should just go-”
“Overnight?!”
Badd reached for his phone in a panic, leaping to his feet. Two alerts appeared as he clicked it on, frowning at the newly cracked screen,
43 missed calls
128 text messages
“Fuck,” Badd hissed.
Garou gave him a slight, toothy grin, amused at his flustered reaction.
“Duty calls?”
“Shut up,” Badd hastily found his shoes beside the couch, “I was never here, got it?” He added sternly.
“Fine with me…” Badd noted the hint of distraction in his voice.
Garou’s gaze followed him closely as he crossed the room. His eyes widened slightly, as though fascinated.
Badd paused momentarily in the doorway, glancing backwards as if he was going to say something. Ultimately, he gave only a small wave before stepping out into the crisp air, leaving the door ajar in his haste.
Garou, without responding, watched Badd go. He stared in wonder at the receding, slate gray feathers that had replaced the jet black pattern marring his white wings.
After sitting in contemplative silence for a time, he turned and reached out to close the door. A bright flash of sunlight on metal caught his eye.
Leaning against the side of the building was Metal Bat’s signature, bright silver bat that he’d gone to retrieve that morning.
Garou smiled to himself.
“See you again soon, Badd.”
