I feel like it's a pretty straightforward (or not so straight hehe) commentary on the events of the scene. When Jonathan and Nancy aren't relating, they don't feel connected, but Steve and El aren't where they should be. It's a reference to Barb's last words to Nancy. Her relationship was performative with Steve, especially to use it in season 1 kinda to say the same thing of Mike and El and parallel them to Nancy and Steve once again.

Relationship issues, work tension, Chris adjusting, after Chris adjusting teen problems, another kid (a bbygirl PLSSSSS), marriage, fear of marriage, doubts, spending time alone (learning how to schedule did without each other/make time for themselves), other queer stuff like parties and clubs, kids graduation, henren adoption/foster help, actually doing the adoption foster stuff, Chris going to college, raising a kid together, aunt Maddie helping out with the teen girl stuff, baby jee as honorary big sister, baby 118 literally just being with each other.

okay, for my de-aged gotham!bruce au

what if there was a new rogue running around de-aging everyone who got in their way? the trigger to turn back is unknown and seemingly random. so after bruce is de-aged, some of his old rogues are de-aged too. since their MOs are a bit different because they're at a different point in their lives (it depends for each one when they're de-aged to) bruce is their main source of information on them, meaning that the batfam is basically forced to let bruce work with them to fight the de-aged rogues.

rogues i want to include (so far): the penguin, the riddler, (of course) the joker (i want to find a way to include jerome so so so bad but i don't know how exactly yet), not sure who else as to the rogues.

but i also want to de-age selina and alfred at some point. maybe someone hit the manor at a gala or something. they play that off as when bruce was hit so bruce can walk around gotham without the cops scrambling to find bruce wayne.

With Lucy, we have now been fully introduced to the "Just have entered Adulthood and I'm eager to complete my first major milestones in life!" trio. Jonathan, Mina, and now Lucy are at the threshold, young blood to the new and the unknown.

Oh and aside from their key personality differences, all three of them are hopeless romantics!

Jonathan, Lucy, and Mina, each pivot the three acts of the book. Their lives are intertwined, no matter what their fates or degrees of separation may be.

the thing is they're possibly my favourite in all of doctor who?? maybe???? on a. spiritual. and also intellectual level. they're not necessarily going to make me cry the hardest, but they're. beautiful beautiful episodes

oof. so good. so so good. some of the best music to ever come out of a single-episode (double-episode), themes that go so hard into the kind of wonderfully philosophical religious questions that I gobble up + that event horizon/alien/the thing type aesthetic, not...gory ofc, this is still rated as suitable for kids, but my goodness the tension, the particular kind of horror it leans into in lieu of straightup grotesquery, the way "the devil" dialogue was written and performed. and then rose taking charge and making sure everyone left (sans poor jefferson... and toby, but toby was already dead) made it out. the trust between rose and the doctor in this one is Peak!

and then to top it off it introduced the ood!!! my favourite darlings of the nu!who alien roster. these episodes blew my mind as a kid, and while I'm not Scared scared by them anymore (having watched them a dozen times), I can still feel that tension throughout

and that ending!!!!! apparently the last thing billie piper filmed was that ending, and it's always made me so emotional. I don't know if it's that s2 is just emotional to me, or that there genuinely is this buildup (but it feels like there is), when the doctor and rose aren't together this season, it hits harder -- girl in the fireplace and satan pit both play with this idea of them being torn from one another (funnily enough, with the doctor being the one who's gone into someplace and unable to return)

I also appreciate the restraint to not bring back this being for a future episode in order to explore it more. considering the fate of many a who-villain is to be prodded at into unrecognisability, thank you for letting this one (and the one from midnight) remain unknowable

I note a tiny bit of the score was lifted from s1 dalek, which makes me draw parallels of a kind between the two, even though I'm sure that's not intended, it's just a banging bit of music that never appears again. bit where the dalek reveals itself and tells rose to order it to die and it lifts into its crescendo, that's the one that comes several times in especially satan pit, notably when the doctor and rose reunite. stuff of legends indeed. the violin in this one is just. it's too good. it's something doctor who ought to be appreciated for more -- although it is to an extent as a whole, but the individual episode themes are often fucking killer, and this one is the most so

and at the end they start reading off the ood who were killed (all of them) out of respect. the way this theme is picked up again in s4, I just! stellar, perfect, wonderful, no notes, Music, spooks, aliens, emotions, thematic follow-through, knowing that the doctor and rose are soon going to be torn apart leaving the doctor a shell (until donna) but for now he's grinning and laughing without restraint at rose (well the both of them) making it out alive, fuck yeah!

Sorry but he’s gonna very randomly and very frequently sit in your lap. He likes it, it’s comfy and it’s always right there fully open for him. He’ll just fall into your lap, wrap his arms around your neck and nuzzle his face up to yours.

Very helpful with other things you may need help with like reaching things that are too high up or assisting you when you need to get out of your chair for any reason.

Although he never asks before he grabs the handles of your chair and yanks you all the way back until you’re nearly parallel with the sky, then he smirks down at you before leaning in for a hot and passionate kiss. Not too long later, he sits you back up to your regular position and continues on his way, leaving you a blushing mess with your heart beating so hard you think you might die again.

And he never gets over the shocked face you wear every time he does that. He loves that shit 🩷

Okay this guy is so nonchalant about it like “okay cool…and?”

He sees that you are used to this, that you handle this with such grace and skill. You impress him everyday and he adores youuu~

Will often offer to help you up on the barstools if your chair is too low to reach the bar.

Holds doors for you, always runs to push the elevator button for you, just likes to go out of his way to be a gentleman for you.

Even if you insist you don’t need his help, he’ll argue, “Baby, you’re my partner. I think my love language is acts of service or some shit like that. I dunno, I tried to read the book and got tired. But I love ya so you’re just gonna have to get used to me and how I show love. Trust me, I’d do this stuff no matter what.”

He’s honestly just such a polite and considerate guy when it comes to you. He doesn’t never mean to be overbearing or treat you different, he just wants you to be comfortable so he always tries to push you around.

“Husky, I can push myself.” You sigh as he takes hold of the handles on your chair and brings you along to the bar with him.

“I know you can.” And he’s just smirking from behind you as you roll your eyes.

And his pace will slow for a sec as he leans over to kiss the top of your head.

Homeboy is absolutely gonna try to invent and build cool shit for you. Mostly just cool add-ons to your chair like something to make it smoother or faster or more sturdy or even add a cup holder? Idk

If you ask him not to push you around, you will not have to tell him twice 🫡 he respects you and your boundaries

Buuttttt he is often seen resting one hand on the handle of your chair as he slithers along beside you throughout the hotel

He just wants to be touching you in some way and touching your chair is enough for him.

Loves to come bounding up to you with exciting new projects he’s working on and will wrap his entire self around you as he shows you his work

“Pen? Can you push me back to my room? I’m just so tired…” you ask him after a long day of helping out around the hotel therefore a long day of pushing yourself around.

Doesn’t ever really ask for permission or even warn you before he picks you up and carries you to and from your chair.

“Oh! Alastor. I can do it on my own. Really, I’m fine.”

“Nonsense, sweetheart. The pleasure is all mine. What kind of partner would I be if I didn’t assist my love with getting around?”

He doesn’t have much of a filter, nor does he understand boundaries or personal space

So he will just grab ahold of you and wheel you around to his hearts content regardless of your protests.

One time, he unexpectedly rolled you up to his radio tower, wearing a particular cheery smile.

“Come, dear! I’m just about to start my podcast. Care to join me~?” He holds his hand out to you from across the room, waiting for your okay

As you give him a nod, his shadow lifts you and carries you to him as he sits at his desk, you being lowered down onto his lap soon after.

Alastor loves to sit you in his lap and then make fun of how flustered you get. It doesn’t happen often, him getting all close and touchy with you so when it does happen, you always panic and start stuttering.
