actually. the specific phrasing that boy Kevin wants to kill older Kevin with "I must disassemble him, piece by piece, so that everything inside of the Old Kevin comes out. Only then can the New Kevin truly begin." is so incredibly the idea that to heal from trauma and "improve" you have to destroy every "wrong" part of yourself, that everything "tainted" by it has to somehow be replaced by something untouched (which isn't possible)

Raven Queen:

☆ Bi (Masc Pref) + Ace + Transfem (She/Her)

When her mom found out she was trans she was genuinely so glad she wouldn't have to hand her destiny down to a man

She's known since she was really little + her parents are really supportive (Even if the Evil Queen is kinda supportive for the wrong reasons, she's got the spirit)

☆ Started a band with Melody and Cedar

She's the lead guitarist + singer

I imagine them to have kind of like. TV Girl mixed with La Femme type music

It kind of started out of spite because of Sparrow- But they all really enjoyed it so they stuck together :]

Sometimes they get a gig at Briar's parties

☆ Dex fell for her first but Raven fell for them HARDER she loves her gf so much

☆ After Legacy Day she stays inside a lot more often

She HATES all the people looking at her and feels that staying inside is the only way to deal with it

Sometimes her friends can drag her out for a gathering but it usually needs to be a small one (Briar sometimes throws smaller parties on Apple's request so she can get some social time comfortably)

☆ She DESPERATELY needs therapy but whenever she tries they just try to get her to sign the book so she ends up just walking out + giving up

☆ She's around 5'11" and is one of the few that doesnt really like heels, she prefers more comfy shoes

☆ She's got kind of a whimsigoth aesthetic going, and she generally tries to wear minimal chain accessories (when she has more than a few it makes her think too hard about mirror prison and what she saw on Legacy Day, its a very vivid memory for her)

☆ 99% of the time she keeps her mirrors covered unless she's actively getting ready and needs it

This one is kind of canon?? She hates mirrors because she doesn't want to be vain like her mom

But I picture it to be mostly because she looks so much like her mom, she often gets kind of scared by it

She also probably fears that somehow her mom is going to break out through her mirrors or something along those lines

Dexter Charming:

I just KNOW she's got a great setup in her dorm and she put a lot of it together herself

She also built Raven something custom for her music + so they can play games together

“I have to take Florence into the shop. Can you follow me and give me a lift to work tomorrow?”

Nancy drops the case file she’s reading and looks up. “Again? What happened to her now?”

“Routine maintenance this time. I’m having Nick look at her.” He sighs and pushes his hair back. “I’m worried she might need to retire from long-distance road trips.”

Nancy feels the ache bloom in her own chest with memories of their trips in Florence. Ferrying her safely to New York to remove the wraith. That mini-vacation they took to Portland. Trips home from med school, with Christmas music blasting on the radio and Ace smirking at her singing. 

“Oh, Ace.”

“I know. We might need to think about buying a car. Still use our own cars for routine stuff, but to have one that’s in better shape for longer treks.”

Nancy quirks her lips at his implication. “Are you suggesting I also give up the Sunbeam? I made it up and down the coast catching sin eaters in that thing!”

Ace leans down to press a kiss to her forehead. “I love the Sunbeam, and I would never suggest you give it up. But I also wouldn’t complain about you driving a more nondescript vehicle when tracking criminals.”  He pulls back, catching her skeptical gaze. “Just think about it.”

Her hands are shaking, even as she grips the wheel tightly and forces deep breaths, trying to tamp down the panic. Ace will be here soon, she reminds herself, replaying his words over and over in her mind.

Stay put, he’d said when she called, her trembling voice forcing out only his name. I’m on my way. 

She shudders out another breath at the flash of headlights in her rear view. She’d know them anywhere.

“Hey, hey, it’s okay,” he says when he opens the door, kneeling and tugging her into his arms. “It’s okay, you’re okay. I’m here. I’ve got you.” 

She slides her arms around his waist and presses her face into his chest. He’s a blanket of comfort—warm and strong, his heartbeat beneath her ear and the smell of their detergent in her nose. 

“I was tailing that guy, and…I got run off the road,” she mumbles into his jacket, when her breath steadies a bit. 

“But you’re okay?”

Nancy nods. “I’m not hurt, just panicky.”

“Okay.” His hand rubs soft circles against her back, soothing her tension. “Did you get the plate number?”

She snorts.

“Right, stupid question. I’ll text it to Tamura later.”

“Thanks,” Nancy says as she pulls back from his embrace, managing a weak smile and tucking her hair behind her ears. 

Ace’s thumb catches a stray tear at the corner of her eye. “Are you good to drive home? Or did you want to swap?”

“I’m good. You’ll follow me?”

“Yeah.” He kisses her forehead and stands, making sure she’s settled. 

Once she’s buckled again he moves to close the door, but she stops him. “Ace? I think we should get that new car.”

♥ - family headcanon

I like to interpret Mario and Luigi as coming from a huge family. Parents, lots of uncles and aunts, plenty of cousins, two sets of grandparents, the whole deal.

Everyone in the family tended to be a lot softer and gentler with Luigi than they were Mario. Luigi was always sensitive and timid growing up, but he also rarely if ever acted out (aside from young boy shenanigans with his brother, of course) so there wasn't really a need to reprimand or scold him for being reckless or getting in trouble. He preferred to stay inside cooking and cleaning with his mama and other family members as opposed to being outside doing physical work with his papa. For that reason, he was a lot closer to the bros mother than he was their father, who secretly wished Luigi would a bit more proactive and social like his brother.

Mario technically "accomplished" more as a child, since he was more willing to take risks or try new things, but Luigi was definitely regarded as the "easier" child to raise between them.

(Luigi is also the one who's more saddened if you bring up their family from another world. After they found out the warp pipe that brought them to the Mushroom Kingdom couldn't bring them back to their world, both Mario and Luigi tend to only reminisce about their childhood family with each other. If you ask Mario about their previous world/life, he'll tell you, albeit with some sad fondness in his voice, but you'll find Luigi quickly changing the subject if you question him about their family. Some memories are too painful to unpack.)
