it grosses me out so much that people praise luke for punching christopher in s7.
luke is the one who ruined his and lorelai's relationship in the first place. lorelai gave luke an ultimatum that either they get married or that was the end of their relationship. luke chose the latter, effectively ending their relationship. it's incredibly fucked up that luke would then go and punch christopher after finding out that lorelai chose to sleep with him when they were not together anymore.
if ANY other man on the show pulled the same kind of toxic, violent, possessive crap that luke did, the fandom would literally never shut up about how problematic and irredeemable they are. but luke does it and because the fandom hates christopher, too, that makes it totally cool and worthy of praise and celebration?

One thing that rubs me so wrong is that Ukraine won last year and UK has "graciously" agreed to host the event, since it cannot happen in Ukraine for obvious reasons, but rather than celebrating Ukraine and their culture and heritage (because Eurovision wants to be impartial), they shove UK heritage down our throats instead. Like... didn't we get enough of that this week with your silly monarchy thing. Give us a break. Celebrate Eastern Europe!

Does Mr. Turner like rubbing his “son’s” successful career in Dinkleberg’s face??
Tumblr media
He does! He brags about Timmy's success to every person within the neighborhood's vicinity. Mr. Turner loves how successful his son is! It really secures his reputation at the neighborhood HOA meetings they host at their house.
Timmy's worked very hard to gain more successes than failures. The more successful he is, the greater his family's social standing!! And the less he gets to overhear his dad ranting to the neighborhood about his failures.

with twitter imploding, people are talking about how much it'll suck to have celebrities and brands on here, but...I think celebrities can exist on tumblr in a healthy way.
because I've already seen it happen.
I don't know if you guys remember, but there used to be a decent number of celebrities on here! I mean, the white house had an official tumblr! so did my local library for some reason! everyone thought tumblr was the place to be!
we had George Takei, Taylor Swift, Lady Gaga, Hayley Williams, Ariana Grande, Dylan Marron, Dante Basco, Rebecca Sugar, John Green, Hannah Hart, Jacksfilms, Daniel Howell, and Ashens to name a few, as well as brand accounts for Doctor Who, Sherlock, Denny's, and so many others.
(Cole Sprouse was even on here, and it was fine. don't act like it wasn't. it was really not a big deal! it was fine!)
there were plenty of celebrities and brands on tumblr a decade ago - and it worked fine when people knew to stay in their lane!
did Obama's official account give a shit when people posted Obamney slash? absolutely not!
did we pay attention to whatever the brand accounts were posting? we did not!
and so we existed pretty well together on this site - because, after all, we don't have to look at anything we don't want to. we can block people. and they can block us. and we can keep posting what we want, no matter what any celebs or brands have to say about it, just like it's always been.
the only thing I think needs to change is, well...hey...remember how I mentioned John Green and Rebecca Sugar up there?
yeah the reason we don't see them on here anymore isn't because tumblr isn't a place they'd thrive - it's because a bunch of assholes harassed them until they left.
and that's not fucking okay.
so look, if you see celebs/brands on here, follow them, or don't! block them and ignore them, or don't!
but if you send threats and harassment to anyone on here, whether it be a celebrity, brand, or average tumblr user, you are the asshole. full stop. sending threats to other people is never okay. never.
and yes, this goes for the corporate accounts too! those are still run by people!
it's somebody's job to run those accounts, and guess what! that poor, probably-underpaid person doesn't deserve to get sent gore and death threats because their job is running a corporate tumblr account!
just, whatever happens when twitter explodes and dies a horrible death, it's gonna be okay. but please be kind. above everything else, please, I am fucking begging you, be kind.
it's really the most important part of thriving here

Wouldn't it be great if Tumblr had a feature like "3 years ago today" or something? Like, imagine waking up one morning, opening the app and there's a huge banner saying "Let's see what you were up to 5 years ago today!" and you click on it and it's the most unhinged, thirsty, shameful post about the same middle aged actor you are still obsessed with.

Thinking about a bunch of forty-somethings getting a notification that @t.kinard has posted something on his insta for the first time in like, five years, then immediately jumping to DM's or text to razz Tommy about his boyfriend with the fuckboy haircut -- meanwhile Tommy is furiously trying to hide the texts from Buck because he likes the fuckboy haircut and he's a little afraid Buck will just buzz it all off if he sees a single message from a guy Tommy hasn't talked to since high school or an army buddy who's never done anything BUT give Tommy shit.
Buck sees one anyway and instead of freaking out about it he leans into it for the rest of the night, complete with sexting him (from the other side of the couch).
Tommy gets to keep the beloved curls atop his boyfriends head and Buck remembers exactly why he'd left Buck 1.0 in the dust (the roleplay that night is fun as fuck, though).

It always kinda weirds me out when people try to "prove" Cillian and Yvonne's marriage is successful/unsuccessful, like I understand the urge to look for information on your fave's personal life but at some point you have to kind of be like "you know what? I don't know these people" and put the phone down.

some of you are so insensible like, wtf?
yeah, paul mccartney is not 52 anymore, he grew older, and it's a BLESSING. because there are only two options: you either grow old or you die. thank GOD Paul is here, now, being able to record this song, unlike John, who we've lost a long time ago. We will never get old man John voice, and that's because he's not here. That sucks. I'd give a lot to have seen John grow older, even if just a little more. See his face change, his music and his voice too. It would have been a blessing.
be fucking greateful that paul and ringo are still here, doing this. rejoice on paul's older raw and real voice. it exists.

While I love all the jokes about Scotland gaining independence from the UK I do need you all to realise exactly how terrifying this is for trans people living in England. The government have proved time and time again that they don't care about the safety of trans people, but this in particular is an act of hatred so strong that they are using an unprecedented level of power just to prove it, and once they've done it once, they will do it again. And while Scotland may gain independence (as they should), things are only going to continue to get worse for people still forced to live under the UK government.

people saying that blocking celebrities just means you're bitter abt them having money like... no ? it's not about people making money. it's about them not using their extensive resources to help people with none. then they wanna say it's an extension of cancel culture but again... no ? nobody is saying to outright cancel them but to understand that your attention can be put in a different place. these people have had so long to speak up and try to help the people of Palestine or Sudan or the Congo and they chose to put their time and effort into other things. now we will put our time and effort into other things !
and they will continue to be blocked by me even after they start raising awareness bc 1. ik their cult followers will stick w them no matter what anyone says or what they do so they'll always have some type of platform. 2. it gives me the ick that they only want to speak up when people start ignoring them like they ignored the genocide for so long.

If I had a penny for every book about a boy of noble birth who watched his whole family be killed in front of him and narrowly avoided death himself, ran away and hid in an orphanage before someone unaware of his true identity recruits him into the regime that murdered his family (said regime presents the idea of everyone being equal while in reality being deeply flawed) and now has to work alongside people who would likely kill him if they knew who he really was, I’d have two pennies, which isn’t a lot but it’s weird that it happened twice
