ALSO GOOD!!!! and literally for the same reasons as the other post LOL! the rescue arc would have been a great time for them to get a lot closer, and the team up mission chapter between them was fantastic!!

just spoke bout todokiri and we already know i love kiribaku, which I could talk forever about! but as for the todobaku aspect of it, i think they are a very interesting pair, especially with their growth together thru the remedial classes and agency arcs!!! bakugou understands todoroki’s familial issues already and the two have gotten pretty close in the series. like as much as they bother each other (mostly in bkgs case LOL) they care enough to have each others backs at all times. plus todoroki really values bakugou as a friend and knows how to put up with and have fun with him. a lot of their moments together have been SO FUNNY. they can be goofy and serious together. it’s great!! with kirishima in that dynamic, it’d be hilarious to have him and todoroki pester bakugou. and i feel like kirishima would be a great emotional support for the both of them, while they can uplift him too, in their own ways.

so really, meshing these three ships together is just a brilliant idea

Now that we have reached the last chapter of the year. It is time to do a 2020 roll call of what I like to call, “State of the Shippers”:

1. IzuOcha. Status: Placated.

-IzuOcha’s could celebrate several cute tidbits throughout the year. Mini moments as they say.

Anime Highlights: The OVA’s came in clutch with moments for shippers all around and IzuOcha is no exception. We got a cute tidbit where Izuku and Ochako bumped into each other and were flustered.

Manga Highlights: Christmas kept on giving to this fandom as the AM doll Izuku gave Ochako made many appearances. A cute fist bump between the two was also exchanged and Mina was right there bouncing with y’all.

Heroes Rising: Izuku super man carried Ochako to safety. And was Angy she was injured. Fans could enjoy the small Lois Lane moment.

Troubling Signs?: Ochako said “I would like to be excluded from this narrative” when it comes to her feelings for Deku. She’s a hero damnit! So if they are in for something, probably won’t be while they are still in school.

II. DabiHawks. Status: Yikes.

- Dabi and Hawk’s very public breakup set this fandom in disarray but also kind of disayay?

Anime Highlights: None yet. This fandom was cruelly cock blocked by Bones. Sorry DabiHawks stans.

Manga Highlights: Where to begin, my goodness. With these fans, I guess the good and the bad is a plus in this homoerotic double agent relationship. We have the notion that Dabi may have known Hawks when they were kids, which may be a positive? Hori sure loves his childhood friends. Other than that. The GIRLS WERE FIGHTIN’. Hawks is now permanently scarred by Dabi and I don’t think it was kinky folks. Tokoyami inserted himself in the middle to White Knight Hawks, Dabi broke up with him via YT expose and overall, shippers could anguish in the absolute MESS that this ship endured this year. But I’m sure that’s part of the appeal. So...yay?

Heroes Rising: They were both in it.

Troubling Signs?: The entire relationship is a troubling sign which again, is part of the appeal. Maybe Hawks will cuddle up with Dabi’s father after the war. That’s troubling! Speaking of...

III. EndHawks. Status: Yearning and Burning.

-If there’s one thing Endeavor couldn’t stop worrying about, it was his hot (in more ways than one) new side piece who probably should have looked at the fine print when signing a contract to be a recurring guest star on “Keeping up with the Todoroki’s”.

Anime Highlights: A fateful meeting finally in high definition for all our eyes to see! Hawks’s unwavering support of his biggest hero was endearing to watch and their shenanigans together spurred the anime onlies to finally jump on the biggest May-December ship in the series.

Manga Highlights: Endeavor’s admiration and concern for Hawks seeped through the pages as we entered our most exciting arc in the manga yet. Fate split these two up yet entwined their downfall together. And that Fate’s name was Dabi...or should I say ⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️ or should I just say Touya!

Heroes Rising: “Don’t bite my head off, Endeavor.” Geez, can you flirt a little less loud Hawks?

Troubling Signs?: They say never meet your heroes and Hawks is in for a rude awakening. We shall see just how deep his admiration runs or if Endeavor’s past will split our dynamic duo up for good.

IV: TodoDeku. Status: “Precious”

-Shoto’s “Midoriya is in Danger” radar was highlighted in both manga and anime. 4th User’s quirk, who?

Anime Highlights: “Midoriya hasn’t returned yet.” “Where’s Midoriya?” “Midoriya! Grab my hand!” “Have some of my Soba Midoriya.” Shoto gets it. His emotional support friend is a danger magnet. TodoDeku’s also enjoyed tiny tidbits in the OVA such as a hand grabbing scene. Gotta hold tight to those crumbs.

Manga Highlights: Two Words. “Precious Friend.” Deku comes in w/o arms or legs fighting for Shoto and Shoto’s honor. These two spent the entire year worried sick about each other, and going against all odds to save each other. Precious Friends indeed. TDDK fans ate.

Heroes Rising: Shoto kicks some dog ass and then faints thinking of Deku (and Bakugo but shh. Let the shippers rejoice.) On the bright side, we have a 3rd movie coming featuring “The Three Musketeers” so shippers of TdDk can HOLD TIGHT to what’s to come.

Troubling Signs?: Shoto still doesn’t know about OFA and he’s gonna have LOTS of questions after this arc. Will Deku finally tell him? If not, it could make or break the ship.

V. TodoBaku. Status: “Shining through the city with a little funk and soul.”

-Who knew the greatest comedy duo we needed was Shoto and his hot headed “friend” or not friend? It still remains unclear to Shoto. Regardless, these two had a fun year.

Anime Highlights: “I wanna see your cute face”, disco dancing, and more fun in the provisional license training. Plus the OVA added some cute moments between the two such as Bakugo staying behind to save Todoroki during a dangerous excercise and his adorable plan neatly animated for us. I’d say TodoBaku’s really were resurgent and energized this year!

Manga Highlights: Shoto, that is not how you properly Catch a Kacchan, I’m sorry. But at least you did it you mad lad. As with Deku, Shoto spent the year worried sick about Bakugo. While the anime let us have our fun, these two were suffering in the manga.

Heroes Rising: Again, Shoto put a dog down and then fainted with Bakugo on his mind (and Deku but we ignore that. Shush.) TodoBaku’s have the 3rd movie to look forward to which is bound to have some amazing content!

Troubling Signs?: They have a lot of trauma to deal with. And a lot of Deku to worry about. I also imagine Shoto will be hurt about being left out of the OFA secret. We shall see what 2021 has to offer.

VI. KiriMina. Status: Unbreakable.

-Changing your hairstyle to match the gal who inspired you in middle school? Sorry y’all but if Mina were a guy, I’d say that’s gay af.

Anime Highlights: We got that backstory Bois. Red Riot’s origin might as well make him be called Pink Riot. Again with Hori and the childhood friends though I wouldn’t exactly call them friends. They just went to the same middle school but Kirishima was highly influenced by Mina’s Chivalrous spirit! A ship is born!

Manga Highlights: The influence is mutual! Mina creates a move based on Kirishima’s unbreakable and we all let out a collective “awwww”. Also in the war arc, we got Kirishima making sure Mina’s chivalrous spirit shines through right into Gigantomachia’s mouth! KiriMina may just be the unsung MVP’s of this arc.

Heroes Rising: They were in it.

Troubling Signs?: I can’t think of a single one. KiriMina’s can enjoy a peaceful sailing.

VII: KiriBaku. Status: Crumb Collectors.

-2020 was an uneventful year for KiriBaku but Bones made sure there were crumbs aplenty! Thank God for OVA’s!

Anime Highlights: KiriBaku’s did thrive in one episode! Kirishima reflects on the sludge incident and evolves his quirk based on inspiring words from Bakugo! Hooray! KiriBaku’s can thrive in their blossoming friendship. The OVA also has Kirishima (and Kaminari but shh) once again following Bakugo’s lead when it comes to the training excercise. How can you not? He’s so manly!

Manga Highlights: Not gonna lie. There is nothing much here this year. I did find a teeny tiny flake in Aizawa’s flashback. Kirishima and Bakugo are sitting next to each other. Oh! And at the hot pot gathering, Bakugo sits next to Kirishima! Eat your crumbs KiriBaku’s! There’s always next year!

Heroes Rising: Kirishima hangs with a lazy Bakugo and delivers the most hilarious line in the whole movie. “Silly Bakugo, there won’t be villains here!” Hahah... Silly Bakugo. Oh you~ KiriBaku’s can inhale the fact that those two sure love to hover around each other!

Troubling Signs?: With great crumbs come little responsiblity. No trouble if there’s no content! 🤔

VIII: KamiJirou. Status: Singing their hearts out 🎶

-If there’s any ship that’s coming close to canonization, I think this is it, folks! “Think of the person most important to you!” Can’t argue with Midnight!

Anime Highlights: Kaminari does non stop encouraging of Jirou and her hobbies! He works super hard to learn guitar for her sake! We love a king who can encourage his queen!

Manga Highlights: Kaminari thinks of the most important person to him and surprise! It’s Jirou! All of the feels can commence.

Heroes Rising: They were in it!

Troubling Signs?: Kaminari does love his women. And men. Kaminari overall is a huge flirt. But Jirou appears to have his heart strings. ❤️

IX: BakuDeku. Status: Rising. 👑

-Alternative Statuses include Winning, Thriving, Soaring. It’s just been non stop content this year. 2020 is truly the year for BakuDeku. The shippers can rejoice.

Anime Highlights: Three words. Be. My. Cane. The OVA’s helped fan the flames of the BkDk hearts with a surprise! Deku tops! Not only that, we got a lovely shoulder tap of encouragement in the canon material. While in season 4, Deku’s primary focus was Eri. Bakugo and Deku still had their moments to be hella gay.

Manga Highlights: Where do I even begin? I guess we’ll just cut to the chase with Bakugo Katsuki: Rising. We finally saw Bakugo’s true feelings manifest for Deku and if getting stabbed for him isn’t the ultimate showing of love, then idk what is. BakuDeku’s rounded out the year with the Volume 29 cover AND the volume 29 cover drafts to eat at our heart strings. Overall, their relationship got the spotlight in the manga this year. And we’re bound to start 2021 with a dramatic confrontation. Hand holding seems to be the key with these two and it didn’t stop with Heroes Rising...speaking of.

Heroes Rising: The entire movie. Like....yeah. That’s it. [OP, your bias is showing. You have to be SPECIFIC.] {But random criticizer in my head, if I lay out the entire plot of the movie, my post will be too long} [OP....] UGHHHH Okay okay. The POPSICLE MELTING. THE HAND HOLDING. THE CHARACTER DESIGNS OF WHAT MIGHT AS WELL BE THEIR LOVE CHILDREN. Did I mention? “It’s fine if it’s you?” CAUSE YEAH. Oh and All Might randomly officiating their wedding in their heads like idk. Isn’t it just simpler if I say the whole movie??!

Troubling Signs?: Well these two’s relationship is extremely delicate and while it has non stop soared this year, Deku might not take too kindly to Bakugo almost dying for him. Will they stop pushing each other away? Time will tell.

Let's take a look:

MONOMA AND DENKI FIGHTING ALL THE TIME, AND SHINSO IS IN THE MIDDLE JUST BEING TOO TIRED OF THEM BOTH.

Except, once Monoma gets used to Denki, they both become an electric conducting duo.

We have TOO MUCH ENERGY, tired af and TOO MUCH ENERGY going everywhere together.

Denki is known as the traitor of class 1-A because Monoma gave him the name. Monoma adores bothering Bakugo with that little fact.

The three of them work pretty nicely together when it comes to battles. Two of them always guide the villains to a trap prepared by the third one.

Denki and Monoma DO have a competition to impress Shinso, but that means they spend a lot of time having romantic tension between them while being rivals.

Shinso adores his two blonds with his whole heart.

In Halloween Monoma and Denki dress up like zombies to annoy Shinso saying he has them both brainwashed.

OKAY BUT CAN WE TALK ABOUT SHINSO AND MONOMA BLUSHING WHEN THEY SEE DENKI FIGHTING ON TV ALONG WITH CLASS 1-A???

Jirou, Monoma and Shinso are his biggest fans. But the three of them have this habit of buying Denki merch and personalizing it.

If Monoma goes full charming gentleman on Denki and Shinso, it's over. The two of them can't resist it, specially because Monoma is the tsundere type so once he decides his gonna win the game, he'd do anything to make you surrender.

Shinso is over there, watching Dumb McDumb being smart for a minute while Annoying McAnnoying gets the villains to hate them in a second. Shinso just wishes he could take his sleeping bag around just like his dad.

Believe it or not, when the three of them are together, it makes Aizawa feel nostalgic. He knows how is like being three to everything, having two other pairs of hands to back you up in case you need the help. Still, he's so happy for Shinso.

At first Monoma started getting on the Eraser Family house with the excuse that he was helping Eri with her quirk, but then Denki decided he was teaching Eri how to play the guitar and sing. And then they both just started breaking in through Shinso's window in secret.

We get to see Denki and Monoma running in fear from a very sleepy very annoyed Aizawa.

THEIR COLORS ARE ALREADY BLACK, PURPLE AND YELLOW. THEY MATCH PERFECTLY.

The three of them are so dumb, I love them so much. They are the smartness ever and at the same time they share one braincell.

Monoma and Denki are always there to hype about Shinso and give him more self-confidence.

They all dyed a straw of their hair in each other's color: Monoma in purple, Denki in black and Shinso in yellow.

Aizawa is really over there dying a little while he remembers Shirakumo. Present Mic needs to give his husband extra attention to get him out of his melancholic mood sometimes.

The Invisible Girl [sonamae]: OK SO it’s Hagakure-centric, with background Hagakure x Shouji and KiriBaku. My favorite part about this is that the romance is important, but not the focus. The focus of this oneshot is on the family she creates with Bakugou, Satou, Todoroki, Kirishima, and Tokoyami. Go read it, it’s great. BIG BROTHER BAKUGOU FTW!!!!!

Ground Zero [sonamae]: Speaking of Big Brother Bakugou, this is the next oneshot in the same series as the above one, but from Bakugou’s pov. Again, the romance is important but not a focus, and that’s so fucking refreshing and I love it so mUCH idk what else to tell you. Just go read these two. The rest of the series isn’t complete, but these two specific fics ARE, hence why they’re in the Complete section.

Lighting The Beacon [M3zzaTh3M3z]: This is one of the first bnha fics I’ve ever read, and I’m so glad this was my introduction to the fandom!! It’s a pretty fluffy oneshot, starting off with Kiri asking Baku out and Baku rejecting him because “who ever heard of a gay hero?” Aizawa hears about that (the basics, no details like names or anything), and things…start to change. Mic says he’s married to a man (its Aizawa), All Might comes out as pan, ace Midnight…and at the end, Bakugou asks Kirishima out very publicly. It’s so near and dear to my heart, and it honestly deserves more attention than it gets.

You’re only relevant until you’re older (they’re gonna talk about you over and over) [futurehearts]: Pro-Heroes Red Riot and Ground Zero are happily married and Baku has a reputation to slowly destroy :D (he’s soft, mainly for his husband, and he knows it…and now so does the rest of the world lmaooo).

Love Notes [PurplePersnickety]: Kirishima gets really, REALLY sappy love notes on his desk for a week or two and works to figure out who it is (spoiler alert, it’s Bakugou being a Soft Bitch). When Kiri asks him about it, he confesses everything and they date in secret for six months before telling the whole class (oneshot).

Sonder [Maplefudge]: I bet this bitch thought she wouldn’t get a shout-out well guess what you write good and there’s nothing you can do about it This is the first work of maple’s I ever read, and it’s perf <3 I’m love. It’s a look at the “totally platonic” (how much sarcasm can I add to two words?) Kiribaku from members of the class, over the course of 13 chapters. It’s full of fluff, useless mutual pining, obliviousness, and “platonic bro kisses”. Read it if you need to scream at some useless gays.

Anger Management [Julietwasanidiot]: The entire fandom is gearing up for S4 by writing hurt/comfort KiriBaku post-raid fics, and I am HERE for it. Because of when it’s set though, there’s going to be spoilers so if you’re anime-only you migt want to steer clear of this one. It’s got an ICONIC rice-and-anger line, though.

Stupid Mistakes [lemxnfox]: Kirishima and Bakugou got in a fight! They fight a lot, but this fight they’ve been fighting for six months and the class is #OverIt. They concoct a plan to lock the two of them in a room and force them to make up– and they DO. Side ShinKami and TodoDeku.

No More Fragments [Ischemia]: Canon-compliant…to a degree. Shinsou takes his place as the Superior Purple in Class A, gets himself a boyfriend (Kaminari) and a squad (the Bakusquad)…and loses it. Or does he???? Canon-typical violence, side Kiribaku, mystery plot.

Caught In My Own Web [anxioussaliorsoldier]: SHINSOU IS IN 1-A!!!!! And he fucks up when trying to use his capture weapon lmao. Kaminari finds him and they recreate the iconic Spider-Man kiss…and then Shinsou passes out from the blood rushing to his head. It’s cute guys.

Be Selfish For Me [A_Reflective_Projection]: WARNING– the entire thing is Aizawa asking 1-A to be careful as pro heroes, by taking them to a hero graveyard. It’s painful. It’s sad (especially when Aizawa brings up a classmate of his who died in their first year as a pro). It ends bittersweet, and there’s some good Dadzawa content in there. The most present ship is Erasermic, and that only really makes an appearance in the last chapter.

Closer [MikeWritesThings]: Fluffy Erasermic, canon universe, where Aizawa starts calling in to Mic’s radio show cuz he misses him. It’s sweet af ❤️❤️

Meaningless Holiday [dysonQueer]: It’s a sweet Valentine’s Day fic, canon-compliant, with established Erasermic for the soul. I highly recommend it if you’re having a rough day and you need some feel-good fluff

Come Back Toe Me [Milligramme]: Aged-up, Pro Hero fic where Kiri has a shit day heroing, but he isn’t physically hurt. Not until he breaks his toe on the coffee table, that is. He can’t stop laughing, and Bakugou can’t stop worrying about his dumbass boyfriend.

Kiss Me Through The Screen [Ischemia]: Aged-up fic with ShinKami as the main focus and some side KiriBaku, but…uh, most of the Bakusquad aren’t full-time Heroes. Kami dropped out of UA completely, and Shinsou never went in the first place. So, Kaminari is working at Jirou’s cafe and works as a SFW camboy at night, while Shinsou is a teacher and watches the stream nightly. Later there’s a plot around a stalker, again please keep yourself safe Pineapple Anon!!

If I Don’t Act… [SilentNorth]: This is gritty and painful, but don’t worry! There’s a happy ending :D (I rarely read/write/recc pure angst, you’re safe here my child). Hands Off! [PullingAllMighters]: Much like Kiss Me Through The Screen, Hands Off! is a non-canon compliant aged-up AU where not everyone is a full-time hero. Kiri is, Kami and Sero are his sidekicks, Ochako is in a different agency, and everyone else is doing Other Shit. Bakugou hasn’t revealed his full backstory yet, but it looks like he was a Pro Hero until a year or so ago when something bad happened and now he’s got PTSD. His old apartment building burned down so he’s living in Ochako, Momo, Jirou, and Mina’s guesthouse until he finds a job and another place to live. This has a fresh take on the hero system, and I really really enjoy it so far!! Blood of my Hand [PurplePersnickety]: Is it obvious yet that I LOVE purple’s writing??? This, I believe, was the gateway work, and I’ve dived headfirst in and not looked back. Fantasy AU, slowburn Kiribaku, and it’s. I can’t even sum it up. There’s too much. It’s too good. Game of Thrones WISHES it could be what BomH is. There’s mention of slavery and past child abuse, please skip that if it’s going to trigger you!!

A Boy and his Dragon [VanHan]: Oh look, another fantasy AU. Have you figured out that I have a type yet? Kiribaku but the Kiribaku hasn’t really happened yet, cuz Bakugou is a literal child who got kidnapped and is probably gonna get sold. He doesn’t even know Kirishima is Kirishima, he just knows him as the cool dragon in the cage. This one just barely makes the SFW list, because there’s no explicit mention of fucking, but there’s a really really gross pedophile that shows up fairly early on and hasn’t died yet. There’s also graphic depictions of violence in the first chapter, and once you combine those two things I would absolutely understand if you decided to give this one a pass, too.

Everglow [Maplefudge]: ANOTHER fantasy AU?!?! In MY fic recc list?? It’s more likely than you think. This one just started, and it’s got that enemies-to-lovers shit going on. Dragons plus my favorite tropes = FUCK YEAH!!!

Crimson [Crocodillia]: I bet you thought I was done with the fantasy AU reccs, didn’t you? Well, HAVE ANOTHER!!! This one has strong HTTYD vibes, and I’ve literally never seen anyone try that before with these characters!! So far there’s only two chapters, but I am HOOKED and if you like HTTYD…you’re gonna like this, too.

Becoming Human [FoolishFortuna]: Demon!Bakugou becomes Human!Bakugou when he refuses to take a kid’s soul. I think we’re three chapters in and he just got to earth and met Kirishima, as well as a few holy people (Midoriya, Ochako, Iida, and I believe Tetsu). Now he gotta find his daughter and keep her safe. Kiribaku with some fairly graphic descriptions of torture and cannibalism in the second chapter, don’t read it if that’s gonna trigger you!! Also he pretty brutally rips apart the girl’s abusive parents.

Surviving for Second Chances [SilentNorth]: TWEWY Kiribaku AU!!! There’s some differences between the original game and the fic, for pretty obvious reasons (medium, objective, and character differences being a few), but this got me to FINALLY watch a playthrough of the game cuz I’m too broke to go and buy it myself!! Kirishima as Neku and Bakugou as Joshua, plus Mina as Shiki and TodoDeku as Rhyme and Beat. Canon-typical violence, and we just finished up Week 1!!

Love And Other Allergens [thefrailtyofgenius]: A Quirkless AU where Todoroki is a lawyer with a flower shop underneath his apartment. Todo finds out he’s allergic to one of the plants, buys a different bouquet every week instead of, yknow, asking for help like a normal human being (I say, knowing damn well I’d just buy allergy medication and not even try to figure out what I’m allergic TO), and accidentally falls in love with the cute (and absolutely fucking ripped) flower boy (Midoriya lmao). I really like Kaminari! He’s a huge goofball but he also really cares about his friends. And while he may not have the highest grades in the class, he seems to be really good at reading people!

How I feel about this character:

Tsuyu is a good frog. I really enjoy her character and her overall just chill kind of nature I guess? But I also love that she’s still willing to stand up for her convictions! Like, saying what she did in the hospital took a lot guts! And then telling the rescue group how much knowing they went through with it hurt her… She’s a brave girl who stands up for what she believes in. She’s got a good head on her shoulders for sure!

Habuko/Tsuyu, Tsuchako… It occcurs to me that I must headcanon her as wlw because I can’t really imagine her with any of the dudes.

My non-romantic OTP for this character:

TokoTsuyu and MidoTsu! I love the way she interacts with both boys and how easily they work together and she gets along with them!

My unpopular opinion about this character:

Idk I think it reads really weird when people write her as saying “kero” or “ribbit” every single sentence. Like, she does say it often enough but not like every sentence. I’m not sure outside of that what an unpopular opinion would even be for her.

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon:

I’d like to see her struggles a little more? She’s been a part of a couple of arcs but it’s mostly just with her just kinda being there. We don’t see her struggling like Ochako does following Overhaul. The most struggle we got was the hospital and follow up scene. It would be nice to expand on that for her character I think. Give us a better grasp on her by knowing how she goes through something hard.

Maybe also show us something with her family too!

How I feel about this character:

Jirou’s kind of a nice change from a lot of the other girls in Class A. The rest are pretty bubbly or upbeat while Jirou’s kind of lowkey and sarcastic? She’s a good change of pace while also being really nice to bounce said characters off of. I also like seeing her love of music. And the fact that while it’s something she really does love she’s not really looking to make a career out of it? Because sometimes you want your hobbies and job separate so that’s cool to see too.

Oh gosh okay um Momojirou, Kamijirou, KoudaJirou and Minajirou. These are all good and I will stand by it lol

My unpopular opinion about this character:

Idk if this is unpopular but I don’t think she’s very uppity about music taste? I think Jirou’s really open to a wide variety of music but she tends to enjoy rock the most. It’s part of why she’s learned to play so many instruments, I think!

Give me a moment where she gets to be at the core of something heroic. We almost got a glimpse of that in the USJ attack. But then she was unconscious for the training camp, she wasn’t part of Overhaul… She did get focus in the cultural festival but that was about the music, more than any like hero mission or anything…

Shigaraki is a poor bastard that I love to hate. He’s a really complex character as we’ve been shown since the villain arc. His backstory is absolutely tragic. And Hori keeps painting for us these parallels to Deku but ultimately they function more as foils. Putting them in similar situations only to highlight the difference the two characters have with one another.

I can’t wait to see what else Hori has in story regarding him!

Hmmm, I’m not really sure I have a ship for him really? I think it’s mostly just that I haven’t considered it, so I don’t really have any thoughts regarding that.

His whole relationship to the League is...actually really sweet? It’s nice that they’ve all found this little home and camaraderie with one another.

I don’t really think he’s all that bad? Like I know there’s a lot that don’t think he’s very interesting or what have you, but I really find his character fascinating and I can’t wait to see how much more he grows outside of AfO’s influence.

I really like the idea of some of his memories being faked by AfO or else that AfO is the one that gave him his quirk in the first place. It just makes the most sense to me considering how his quirk started out so strong right at the beginning when all the other quirks we’ve seen don’t start off immediately strong unless they’re a quirk with a stockpile effect (e.g. OfA and Eri’s Rewind).

BnHA Chapter 198: A Pair of Chuunis

Previously on BnHA: Shinsou, Tsuyu, Kaminari, Kirishima, and Kouda (henceforth known as Team A) faced off against Shiozaki, Tsuburaba, Shishida, and Rin (Team B). Kiri, Kouda, and Tsubu were captured, making it 3 VS 3. Tsuyu covered Shinsou and Kami with her disgusting frog mucus in order to mask their scent so class B wouldn’t be able to track their movements. They then purposely allowed Kaminari to get captured as a distraction to let Shinsou get close enough to Shiozaki to ensnare here with his quirk. Realizing what had happened, Shishida stopped talking so as not to fall under Shinsou’s control himself. However this also left him unable to communicate with his remaining teammate, and Rin was shortly thereafter taken out by Tsuyu. Shishida was knocked out shortly after that, and so Team A ended up winning the match, giving class 1-A the lead as we enter the second round.

Today on BnHA: Aizawa and Vlad provide their respective students with constructive criticism following the match. Meanwhile the remaining 8 teams begin to plan out their strategies, including Monoma who is excited to have the chance to work together with Shinsou, particularly after witnessing the first match. It turns out he’s not the only one interested in what Shinsou can do, as Aizawa and Vlad reveal to All Might and Midnight that today’s exercise is doubling as Shinsou’s exam determining whether or not he should be admitted into the hero course. The second round of battles begins, with Team MomoYamaTokoKure facing off against Team KendouKuroMangaToadette. Kendou is excited to be battling Momo, as she considers the two of them to be rivals, and feels that up until now Momo has been outshining her. Meanwhile Kuroiro from class B bonds with Tokoyami over their mutual goth aesthetic before the two teams split off to get things started. Toko sends out Dark Shadow to do recon, only to have Kuroiro -- whose quirk allows him to move freely within the color black -- hitch a ride back to Team A’s location. The two prepare to clash, and Toko gets ready to show off a new technique he’s apparently learned from Hawks.

heads up in literally none of my aus is midoriya hisashi a good parent. i mean in canon we know exactly three details about him being his name, his quirk and that he works abroad. that’s it. so, i don’t really like “good parent hisashi”. this au is basically ‘hey what if izuku got a fire quirk from his dad’ combined with my own personal views on fire, and then also deciding ‘wait what if hisashi and endevor did the same shit’. so it’s basically an au where izuku is in the same situation as todoroki.

it’s….kind of complicated now that it’s written down. in my head its p straight forwards?? anyways, basically my view on fire is that it absolutely shouldn’t be demonized as much as it is. because without fire, life couldn’t exist. it’s warmth and life and beauty. i just…think that view of it is perfect for izuku, and i always wanted to try my hand at fire quirk izuku.

also one of my few aus that’s actually gonna have a ship focus?? in that it’s tododeku but honestly knowing me i might end up accidentally dropping that aspect of it like i tend to do a LOT bc of my inability to write crushes (im an aro who’s never had a crush so me writing romance is…awkward at best lol)

the one where hisashi is a villain

i have……admittedly a lot of versions of this au. it’s by far one of my favourites to think about, for several reasons actually, mostly bc of angst but also because the hurt/comfort potential there is incredible.

my most current version of this au though plays with the idea that in the mha society those with ‘villainous’ quirks get discrimated against and pushed so the only chance they do have to survive is to turn to villainy. in this au i play with hisashi and inko’s quirks a little to make them more villainous and easier to discriminate against, for example hisashi can cremate anything he touches into ashes at will, and inko can minorly manipulate the limbs of other people although she’s mainly limited to pulling them towards her or pushing them back.

in this version, izuku is quirkless and still goes through ua determined to change the way that society works and right the wrongs in how it’s set up while also proving that quirkless people aren’t useless. a lot of dadzawa in this one because it is my w e a k n e s s. there’s a few other elements thrown in there, but overall that’s the basic jist of it.

underground gladiator arena kidnap fic

one of my darker aus where a group of villains kidnap kids who took the ua exam to create an “everything goes” fight club that customers can watch and occasionally participate in.

my general idea for this was “the sports festival is pretty brutal when you think about it. it’s almost like everything but killing goes” and then i thought that in a superpowered society there is no way there isn’t any kind of underground fight club where people can go full out w their quirks.

hence this au was born! the kids who’re kidnapped w izuku have been constantly changing over the ladt year or so that i’ve had this idea but rn i decided on having shinsou, kaminari, mina, tokoyami and yaoyorozu w him. the rest would be filled w ocs bc the villains weren’t dumb enough to kidnap all of the heroics students, just a handful.

bearing in mind the kids are all taken a couple days after the entrance exam so they’re not familiar with each other and izuku is the only one familiar w a pro hero and that’s a secret. not to mention he’s only used his quirk once at this point, and he has no access to recovery girl’s quirk so he has to figure smth out IMMEDIATELY or he’s completely fucked.

the one where aizawa is inko’s brother

look if you inspect my aus carefully you’ll see a theme and that theme is i fucking love aizawa. anyways, in this one izuku has a pretty powerful nullification quirk and is trained by aizawa. aizawa and inko have like an eight or ten year age difference, so they weren’t all that close until inko reached out when izuku was eight.

i’ll admit this is one of my lesser developed aus but it’s canon divergent with a focus on izuku hoping to be an underground hero. and due to his quirk and that aspect of his personality, it kind of changes a lot of things??? potentially a short(ish) au if i ever got round to writing it out. maybs about 20k-30k words idk.

(this is mostly born bc i feel like people forget that there’s only a fifteen year age difference between aizawa and izuku for a number of reasons. also bc inko/aizawa….is kind of weird in my mind. definitely not a fan :///)

MUTE TODOROKI

look i fucking love mute aus okay, but when i was trying to apply it to the mha universe i started thinking “holy shit todoroki could definitely be mute” or smth and ever since this au is close to my heart.

basically when poor rei burned lil shouto, she mentally scarred him into mutism. ever since the kettle incident, shouto can’t speak a word. endeavor is told by the doctor that although nothing physically is wrong, shouto is mute. endeavor is a DICK and p much decides he’ll just wait it out for shouto to finally talk bc he’s just being childish (basically he’s ablist and doesn’t let todoroki learn sign. which is bullshit but doesn’t majorly effect him bc he’s homeschooled until high school anyway).

it’s sort of canon divergent but also maybe a complete au??? in that there’s no league of villains. when all might fought afo the first time he succeeded in putting a stop to the villain and killing him. izuku still gets ofa, but he’s not the protag of the story, this time it’s todoroki.

anyways, ua sees that todoroki is mute (which isn’t registered and completely unknown to the general public) and doesn’t know sign language (resorting to notes and/or charades if he needs to communicate something), and decides to investigate that shit.

endeavor eventually gets what he deserves bc the trash bag can go rot in hell, and that’s p much all i got aside from the class realising FAST they need to adopt and love todoroki so there’s a lot of wholesome bonding there.

izuku is related to all for one

admittedly this one is one of my most underdeveloped aus but i still love it all the same. basically my take on it bc the whole ‘afo is hisashi’ thing kinda weirds me out considering afo is at least 200 years old. in this au he’s izuku’s grandfather and inko is his daugther who escaped him and lives in hiding.

i haven’t decided whether i want this au to be my take on izuku having afo or if it’s another quirkless izuku au. i haven’t gotten very far into it, all i know is that afo has no emotions and he’s a heartless bastard (me hating the dad for one trope w a passion) so there’s sort of MAJOR angst potential if i decide to go down that route.

gamer au

izuku’s quirk is that his life is a game. that’s….that’s it. if you’re familiar with sword art online, it has a lot of influence from that w/o the characters or plot or pervertedness or incest because what the fuck sao was so bad with all those. still pissed bc outside that it had potential and i think abt that a lot.

anyways, so y’know how in a lot of rpgs there’s the hud w stats and an inventory system and abilities?? well apply that to izuku and he’s p much that. the world “autosaves” whenever he sleeps, but he can’t manually load a save. if he dies he starts over from his last autosave.

bc of his access to abilities and stuff, he has the potential to be powerful bc hey he can basically do magic, but at the same time he just healed his body completely by drinking this drink he made w herbs and shit last night. also he can carry a ludicrous amount of shit that couldn’t possible fit in his backpack but apparently he’s got seventeen cheese wheels in there and room for half the classroom furniture too.

izuku sees the world w a hud which would be annoying but it’s normal for izuku. in fact, he sort of hates watching tv because the hud doesn’t appear on the screen and it’s so weird and bizarre he doesn’t really like it.

i haven’t planned anything but details of the quirk bc it can get waaaay too overpowered too quickly and hhhh i sort of burnt out of different ways this would effect canon, so i didn’t think abt it. but i did figure out that izuku would have so many gaming analogies for his friends and be into like a thousand different games.

the one where uraraka is the protag instead

born when i was complaining about how shitty horikoshi is at writing his female characters i brainstormed this au in a discord server where i overhauled canon w a more badass uraraka. (and she doesn’t even get ofa!!! she’s just badass on her own!!!)

basically bc she’s a lot more confident and determined in this au she influences a lot of her classmates. the other girls are a lot more active in their actions and are more than just the background characters. uraraka’s full strength is explored and i think i planned for her to win the sports festival bc she deserved it.

also inspired by the idea i had of pro hero uraraka kicking a lamp post down on her own strength and using it to put a comet home run on a villain like she did in the battle trial. bc holy shit that’s a fantastic mental image.

ah yes, finally we get to my take on the most generic of aus. basically i just wanted todoroki in hufflepuff to piss off endeavor and basically loving it bc he befriends izuku in it. i definitely haven’t developed this au outside of worldbuilding in how i’d combine the two universes whilst fixing both jkr and horikoshi’s bad writing.

i actually wrote a snippet that’s somewhere on my blog that i can’t link to now but you could probs for search it. but this was basically born from me getting angry at people putting the kids in the wrong houses. im a firm believer that izuku fits in nearly every house but hufflepuff and slytherin suits him the most while todoroki is ABSOLUTELY a hufflepuff. i wanted some platonic tododeku bonding so i put izuku in hufflepuff. uraraka is slytherin, iida is gryffindor, and it’d be too messy to list all the kids so i won’t.

but!! what im most happy w in this au is how i incoporate mha stuff into it. like how hagakure isn’t actually invisible she just got permanently hexed by her brother to always be unnoticed so you can never know what she looks like or where she is. tokoyami has a bird head due to a failed attempt at becoming an animagi. its permanent and although he could get it fixed, theres actually a number of wizards w the same thing do there’s a lot of animal like wizards. shinhou comes from a pureblood family thats been known for their dark magic, even though the last four generations haven’t been dark wizards the wizardinv world is convinced he’ll be a dark wizard too but shinsou wants to prove them wrong. amajiki being a metamorphmagus who shifts his limbs into animals when he’s nervous. etc etc. i have too much worldbuilding and no plot lmao.

disney aus galore

one day i thought up abt three different disney aus for the mha universe but my first idea was a little mermaid au for momojirou w momo being the princess and jirou being the mermaid.

except besides the basic premise i p much scrapped the whole movie in that jirou learns sign language to talk to momo and the two play music together. jirou plays piano or w/e whilst momo sings. it’s v gay. theres a ball and they dance and then kiss. i never wrote it out bc i didn’t wanna add conflict in it but never got round to actually writing it lmao.

but i thought up a tododeku tangled au, kiribaku cinderella au, tsuocha princess and the frog au, and a couple others that i didn’t plan out fully. still close to my heart if i ever manage to get round to writing them out. each would probs either be a long shot at 7k-15k words or a short multichapter fic at 25k-30k words.

the Spite™️ fic

the fic where i get pissed at every shitty thing about horikoshi’s writing. izuku gets mad at all might for his views on quirkless people and gets into ua on his first try. izuku rightfully does not take bakugou’s shit and calls him out at every opportunity. bakugou’s actions have repercussions. all might gets punished for almost letting bakugou kill izuku in an exercise.

izuku gets pissed over a lot of shit basically. also at one point he either punts mineta into the sun or loudly and publicly makes the argument that mineta should be expelled from ua including evidence and testimonies from the girls. and he encourages nearly all of them to get better costumes.

i haven’t actually written much abt it but if there’s smth i got pissed @ horikoshi for smth in canon it’d be address in this fic bc oh boy am i never spiteful so it’s kind of theraputic to write even tho i haven’t done it in a while.

I decided to redo my previous ship chart post because there were some changes. I also wanted to explain why I ship this characters and what the different colors mean to me.

Now I am explaining myself being a lot of people seem to be confused of why I ship certain characters together. I accept no hate on ships. I don’t hate on ships and neither should you. Any hate comment will be deleted and I will block you if you persist

OTPs: This are ships that I absolutely love and I think would mostly because canon (in my opinion) -Izuocha: This is clearly the most canon ship and we can see why. Both characters clearly care for each other and do have a crush on each other. They are the cute shy couple type and it my heart full just seeing them shipped. -Kiribaku(Bakushima): As many might know this is they most popular ship of the series despite Izuocha being more canon. This is most likely to be canon in most people’s opinion but that’s not why I love it. I love both boys dearly and how they just match each other well. Bakugou has grown a lot throughout the series but so has Kirishima and their relationship. Unlike Izuocha, the boy didn’t start out in good terms (heck Bakugou hated everyone and Kirishima thought he was crazy). But as time went on their relationship grew into friendship (and maybe more). Now I’m not going to be mad if it doesn’t become canon, because its no one decision but the creator. I will however be screaming for days if it does. -Ojiro and Hagakure (idk if they even have a ship name): Now these two I’m pretty sure are only shipped together because like other ships they have had a great amount of screen time together but not much else. I ship them because I love their chemistry they have together. Ojiro being a shy but protective guy and Hagakure being a cute but confident. It sort of goes well together in my opinion. Plus I love my girl Hagakure~ -Kamijiro: This ship is another that is majorly hinted at but its still unclear if its going to be canon or not. Kaminari has shown interest in many girls, seeing how he’s trying to be a player of sort, but one girl that he seems to stick around with is Jiro. He doesn’t seem to push himself at her as he has done with others so it seems he really does like her and doesn’t want to be rejected. Jiro has also been seen to blush around him and also been angry with him when he’s being pervy (possible jealous). Plus they seem to get along based on some similar interest. They definitely click together. -Todomomo: This is another ship that people ship due to much screen time together. Now I can’t say how Todoroki feel but Yaoyorozu may have a crush on him due to his help and encouragement towards her. Now I personally ship them because of this crush Yaoyorozu and their status. What I mean is they are both rich kids more or less. Now I’m not saying rich should get with rich only, I’m saying they probably have some similarities due their status and could relate in ways they couldn’t with the others. I also like the thought of Todoroki protecting Yaoyorozu but she showing him what its like to be loved. Its a soft and slow relationship that I love. -Miritama: Now this ship seems to popular due to the long term relationship that Togata and Amakiji have had. They do have a long past together and know each other extremely well. This is one of those “childhood friends to lovers” kind of ships. Plus they fact Togata is bright and outgoing balances well with Amakiji’s shy and gloomy personality.

Like: Now these are ships I still love a whole lot (maybe even as much as the OTPs) but I don’t see as likely as the OTPs. -Bakudeku: This ship is very triggering to some but a lot of people (like me) really do enjoy this ship. This ship is well like due to Bakugou’s growth in the series. Bakugou has been showing Midoriya a lot more kindness than in the past and slowly working into being friends again (possibly). Which why people like the ship, bully to lovers is fairly heart warming type of ship. Seeing people change is always great and a little angst before fluff makes it worth more. Now I also like the whole angst of Bakugou liking Modoriya but due to their relationship in the past Midoriya doesn’t feel the same way. (this could just end Bakugou being sad forever or getting into another ship) -Todobaku: I love this ship so much (not as much as Kiribaku or Bakudeku but very close). This is one of those love hate kind of ships. Like they hate each other to start but fall in love in the middle of it all. Plus Bakugou need a strong man to take him down once in a while. -Seromina: Now a lot of people ship this because “They are the only bakusquad members without a ship” (this is if they ship kiribaku and kamijiro). Now I ship them together because I like Sero being the calm rational one while Ashido is they wild crazy outgoing one. Not saying Sero is a stick in the mud but I like to think Ashido would drag him into something stupid. And he’s go with it because he loves her but he’d also be there to stop things from getting to crazy. - Tokotsuyu: This is another cause of “they shared screen time together” type of ship. Now I ship them because they work well together, both in fighting and in personality. They are both calm and rational thinkers making them great teammates but also compatible relationship wise. I think their animal like quirk also gives them some similarities to connect with. Plus I love the thought of Asui being cute (unintentionally) and Tokoyami doesn’t know how to handle something so bright and pure. -Momojiro: This is a great due to their personality being very different. Its like proper rich girl meet rocker punk girl. Very romantic and very heart warming. I can see them getting together by accident, Jiro just thinking she admires Yaoyorozu and Yaoyorozu just being clueless to her own feelings. Very cute and slow pace type of romance. -Tetsukami: xkumah (sadly no longer on tumblr) got me hooked onto this ship. Its makes sense quirk wise, steel attracts electric. To be honest though Kaminari seems slightly ooc when shipped with Tetsutetsu. Like way more flamboyant and less after women, so in like a “Kaminari is gay AU” is only how this ship comes to be. Now I don’t like making characters ooc for a ship but this is the only one that seems harmlessly fun. -Inatodo: This ship is hard to explain. Its great because well because Yoarashi hated Todoroki but then didn’t? I guess I do like how Yoarashi is loud and optimistic and Todokoki is quiet and secluded to himself. They are polar opposite but both uses an element type quirk. -Tetsukendo: Now there isn’t much interaction with these two but Tetsutetsu has shown great support for Kendo. Now I ship them because I love the idea of Kendo having someone there to support her. She seems like the big sister of her class or even the leader of her class, meaning she has to fill the role of supporting everyone else. The idea of Tetsutetsu cheer her on, checking up on her, or even protecting her, just warm my heart so much. Now I’m not saying she needs protection because she a strong independent woman who can stand on her own but I’m weak for strong characters being treated gentle (aka Kirishima with Bakugou). -Erasermic: Now this is another case of “childhood friends to lovers” and also a “opposite attracts” type of relationship. They both known each other for a long time so know each other very well (and have time to develop a deep relationship). They are also completely opposite yet still friends, Yamada is loud and proud while Aizawa is quiet and tired. Despite their personally being way different they still have been friends through this whole time so its not hard to see them getting into a relationship as well. Okay: These are ships I like but just not as much as the others. -Midoriya and Asui (no idea what this ship name): This ship is another I’m unsure why I like. It does seem cute and Asui does have much respect for Modoriya that could turn into a crush. Asui is confident why Modoriya is shy so a good contrast in personality, could lead to cute scenes. -Kaminari and Uraraka (I don’t this is popular to have a ship name): I saw this ship on Instagram and honestly I can see it. Uraraka is typical nice cute girl and Kaminari is a player type. Sort of jock player meets shy nice girl type of relationship. Either way I like is and can see cute moments between the two, -Iida and Todoroki (man a lot of my lower ships don’t have names lol): This is similar to Todoroki and Yaoyorozu in the fact Todoroki and Iida would share similarities in status. This is also another of I’m unsure why I ship it. I just like the ship. -Iida and Yaoyorozu (no ship name): I kinda lowkey ship but not quite lowkey. I have no reason for this ship. They both have status and both are the smartest in the class. I think Iida would treat Yaoyorozu beautifully gentle. -Iida and Hatsume (idk if this has a ship name): This is shipped because of the interaction during the sports festival. But its cute to think of Iida taking care of an over work Hatsume. And Hatsume making Iida test her new inventions but of course only because she trusts him. -Serobaku: Now I saw this floating around in a group of shipping the bakusquad with Bakugou. I kind of like the idea of Sero taking care of Bakugou. I feel like Sero more calm nature is something Bakugou would like and be relax around. - ShinAshido: This is similiar of why I like the Seromin ship. Shinso is quiet reserved and uninterested in being around people while Ashido is loud out going and loves to be around people. I can see Ashido dragging Shinso out to socialize but despite not liking being other he goes for her. But I also can see them have quiet relaxing time together, cuddling while watching a movie. -Kyoji(?): This is ship due to their interaction during the midterm exam. I love the idea of Jiro being protective of Koda while he is being soft with her. He would treat her with care and love while she is embarrassed by it but still happily holds his hand. -Mineta and Yaoyorozu: Here a ship people seem confused by. They’ve interacted quite a bit throughout the series, mostly due to Mineta being a pervert. I will state, I don’t hate Mineta. I see why he’s there and how he gives comedy and is the punching bag of the class. Now I won’t going into a rant why people hate Mineta but its clearly being his character is unattractive mixed with his pervert personality. Now the reason for the ship, I believe people can change (like how Bakugou has). And because of this I think Mineta could change his perverted was, once he knows what love feels like. I like to think once he falls in love with Yaoyorozu he’d try to impress her but fail many many time before she finally catches on. -Shoji and Tokoyami: This is another due to screen time together. Though it does seem like Shoji and Tokoyami have some sort of friendship and respect for each other. I like the ship because of how big Shoji is compare to Tokoyami. Its cute to think Shoji has to pick Tokoyami up for a kiss. -Kenmono: This ship is due to the usual relationship they have. Kendo seems to be Monoma’s care taker, keeping him out of trouble and shutting him up. Kendo seems like she be a tsudere when it came to Monoma, which would probably end up him being knocked out if she thinks he’d find out of her feelings. -Erasermight: Now I don’t ship this as much as I use to but I think its still cute. Its sort of the same concept as Erasermic but more calm.

Maybe: These are ships that I lowkey like, I’m very new to, or I’m just unsure of right now. -Shinso and Midoriya: This is a unsure one. The ship post I’ve seen are cute but I’m unsure how the relationship would go. Like I see them being good friends but I’m unsure right now about a relationship. -Tsuchako: This a fairly popular ship (most popular femslash next to Momojiro), but I’m unsure about it. I like the ship interaction but its seems like just friends things than lovers. But I’m indifferent right now. -Bakujiro: Funny enough I got in this ship because of franeridart. I’m unsure if they actually ship it or not but I love their interaction post they have with Bakugou and Jiro. I think the two would be calm with each other and share similar interest. They would be the “non secret relationship but no one can tell either way”, which doesn’t bother them until Kaminari tries to hit of Jiro and Bakugou gets mad. -Kamibaku: This is another unsure one. I’ve seen some cute picture on pinterest but there really isn’t much with these two. Other picture I’ve seen is a very “feminine” Kaminari and I’m not into that. I guess I could see it but I’m not seeing it enough to hold interest right now. -Bakumomo: This is pleasant one. Its sort of “outcast bully falls for pretty rich girl”. Its cute, full of drama, and fluff all around. I think Yaoyorozu would bring out the softer side of Bakugou while he bring out the confidence in her. -Aizawa and Bakugou: Now before you give me any shit on this remember, its a ship not real people and I mention nothing sexual between the two. Its sort of like when kid have crushes on their teachers, it happens. I’m not going into much of this expect for I think Aizawa would defeat Bakugou with his life. -Minayama: I really use to ship this but now not so much. I kind of see Aoyama not being in a relationship, but I still low key ship this because I think Ashido could show him more that himself lol. -Kaminari and Ashido: Well they’re both airheads? Lol, I’m joking. I read a couple of fan fics were they were background couple and thought, “Yes, I could see that happening” -Aizawa and Asui: Same with the Aizawa and Bakugou one, not going to much into it just I remember seeing really cute ship art on pinterest. -Mineta and Asui: I can see this for the sole fact Asui is the only girl willing to talk with Mineta and can put him in his place. -Kamisero: I kind of don’t like this ship because of how feminine people make Kaminari. I just don’t like characters changing so much just for a ship (the only exception is Tetsukami). It just why change him to fit into a ship? I guess if I saw more of Kaminari being himself I would ship it more, but right now its on the fence. -Shinso and Kaminari: I’m unsure with this one because of the recent interaction between the two in the manga. Like Kaminari laying down some accidental flirts to Shinso is cute! But how would their relationship blossom? I think it could work if people don’t change Kaminari a bunch for this ship too. -Sero and Todoroki: This a recently new discovered ship that I’m unsure if I’m into yet or not. I like what I’ve seen but I’m unsure how they would actually interact. -Shinso and Monoma: I honestly just see this as a one sided love, that being Monoma falling for Shinso but not realizing it just becomes very clingy to him.

Dislike: This are not necessarily ship I hate just ship I can’t personally ship myself. -Tododeku: This is an extremely popular ship and I’m unsure why. Modoriya and Todoroki don’t really have a relationship vibe going on. Its more like Todoroki just made his first friend ever and Modoriya is just being nice like he is with literally everyone else. So I don’t see the deal with it I guess. -Kacchako: I don’t like this ship very well. I can only see this ship happening if Modoriya didn’t exist or had became a villian, then maybe I could see this ship, maybe. But something I don’t get with the ship name “ Kacchako “, why use kacchan, the childhood nickname MODORIYA uses, as part of their ship name? Its almost a huge slap the Modoriya himself. Like “Haha I bullied you and now I’m taking the only girl you might of had a chance with” Like what the-? I get why people ship it I really do but I just get a weird gut twist sick feeling seeing them together. So I can’t explain why I don’t like them other than he looks better with Modoriya. -Kirimina: Ok this one is simple, I don’t like this ship because of the past relationship Kirishima and Ashido shared. Now I know this is a reason why lots of people do ship this is because they have a past together but other than that why? I don’t think they are good because technically Ashido made him feel like he was useless. Now I’m not saying that’s her fault or anything but I feel like she was a good blow to his self esteem and its hard to let that go sometimes. Now I know Bakugou is better than Kirishima but he helps Kirishima be someone that can be equal to him. Ashido kind of didn’t know or unsure how to help. They really didn’t have a close relationship younger, just happen to go to the same school. Plus their personalities don’t mesh well together in my opinion. -Kiritetsu: This to me just feel like dating yourself or dating your twin sort of thing. I know they aren’t the same but they were made to be close to the same so it still feels that way to me. -Nejitama: Mostly because Amajiki seems to gay and Hado seems to lesbian lol. -All Might and Inko: This, why is this even a ship? Yagi is already Modoriya’s father figure why go any further with that? You guy also realize the major age gap too right? Now age gaps don’t bother me but some of you seem bother by it (you know when I student is ship with a teacher, even aged up). I just don’t see Inko being that type of woman either, I feel she is either loyal to her husband still or is much more focus on Modoriya. And I’m sorry to say (despite my Erasermgiht ship), if Yagi wanted to date he would have had someone already. Now maybe he did date but hero work got in the way, that still means he wouldn’t date. Yes he’s retired now but he still has loads of villains who would try to get back at him now so his hero duties will technically never be over.

I didn’t do brotp because that’s to many and obvious anyways. There might be a lot I’m missing because there are a lot of ships in the fandom. If I didn’t mention a ship and you want to know my opinion then let me know. I may not even know about or just forgot to mention it. If you even have more questions on what I mention already please feel free to ask (but please read through first before asking), No hate comment, I will delete them. Ahhhhhhh the Baku // Mina friendship debate, nice, hadn’t been around on this blog for a while - you know, the reason why there isn’t much content and their friendship is somewhat underrated (unless we’re talking about full squad content, there’s a lot of baku and mina there) is that, going only by canon, they... aren’t friends. Of course Mina’s part of the squad, but she is more in virtue of the fact that she’s besties with Kaminari and Sero and has her backstory relationship with Kirishima, than because she has had any significant interactions with Bakugou (a bit like Jirou’s a member of the squad through Sero and Kaminari and Bakugou even if she’s got no relationship with Kirishima at all, all in all) - I, personally, like to think they could be great friends, you know? But if we’re talking canon I can count the times they interacted on the fingers of one hand (the only serious one being during the sports fest, which Mina herself commented as Bakugou picking her only cause of her acid being a good strategy against Todoroki’s ice)

I know this is sort of a digression from your question, but, as you obviously noticed since you sent me this question, lately whenever I have focused on Bakugou’s friendships in my drawings Mina hasn’t been there, and people have been more or less aggressively pointing it out to me, like I was doing a disservice to a canon friendship by not portraying it - when in truth the relationship in question has nearly no canon basis at all. So I just wanna say, from the bottom of my heart and honestly, I’m sorry if my liking to delve into and focus on Bakugou’s canon friendships makes you sad, but if the focus of a drawing or a set of drawings is supposed to be Bakugou and the relationships Horikoshi gifted him, then Mina’s most probably not gonna be there (for now, I’m still hoping Hori will add her to his growing list of canon friends soon *crosses fingers*)

Either way this has nearly nothing to do with your question and it wasn’t even really directed at you specifically, I just used the chance to address something that was bothering me a bit - THAT SAID! I do have something I mean to draw that’s gonna be focused on Bakugou and include Mina! It might not be exactly what you’re looking for, but I hope you’ll like it anyway, at least a tiny little bit! ;^;

Oh heck anon, you really don’t wanna get into this, if I started talking about why I love Bakugou as much as I do I’d probably end up saying a 10k worth of words hah I love everything about him, everything he is and everything he has the potential to be, everything he’s changed about himself and every step he’s taken along the way to be who he is right now. I love his personality and I love how strong he is, I love how hard he works, I love how angry he is and how honest and direct and genuine in everything he does he is. I love the way he interacts with people, I love his expressions SO MUCH, I love his habit of speaking in hyperboles and I love how he’s a fast thinker and how he has to go back and walk through every step he skipped when he explains things to people. I love that he presents himself as a genius when actually he just pours everything he has in being the best at everything he tries doing, I love that he’s autocritical and that he cares and that he admits when he’s wrong and that he cries, I love the fact that he cries a lot. I love that he’s set on his path and that he takes everything life throws at him and keeps walking head up and square shoulders, and also I love his eyes and his hero costume and the fact that he wants to be intimidating and yells DIE at inanimate objects and enjoys hiking in his spare time and that he calls people nerd like he isn’t one himself I just. Love him. So damn much.

God, I would love to give you a hand there but to be fair I have zero clue what I’m doing when shading, anon ;-; I go a lot about it following more gut feeling and what looks right, than any actual tecnique (which probably shows to people who have a deeper understanding of it than I do orz) the best I can tell you to do is to try to draw from real life, but really this is such a hard question for me to answer when I myself need to work more on it ;^; I’m so sorry!

I dunno how qualified I am to answer this question since I’m still playing around with my style trying to work that out, but most of what I keep an eye out for are proportions and also how round I make the traits, I guess? The rounder the younger, as far as my art style goes - I also make the eyes bigger the younger my character is supposed to be, but that probably only works if you don’t mind your style not being all that realistic hahaha

Seeing as I posted the comic weeks before the card came out, I’d say it was a coincidence haha that said! In the card Bakugou isn’t actually doing Kiri’s pose! He’s doing his own, which is adorably similar to Kirishima’s - one closed hand against an open palm as he lats out an explosion, you see him take the stance as he gets ready to fight now and again in the manga and anime!

22! that number fluctuates a ton because i’m very impulsive and if a fic doesn’t receive the recognition i feel it deserves/i no longer like it/etc i take it down

interact with other writers! i know it seems daunting, but leave comments, go to spaces where you will find other writers, participate in events-- there are few feelings more satisfying than seeing familiar names pop up, either in your notifications or in a group you’re in. most of the time, they’re all very kind and you won’t regret letting them into your life!

21. Do you plot out your stories, or do you just figure it out as you go?

i plot out almost always, though this sort of bites me in the ass. it bores me when i’m writing to already “know” what’s going to happen and that’s why i lose steam. it’s weird

BnHA Chapter 173: Campus Tour

Previously on BnHA: Class A hashed out everyone’s roles for the upcoming band performance/dance party. Momo wound up on keyboard, Jirou is doing vocals in addition to bass, and Kaminari and Tokoyami will be playing guitar. A staging team was also assembled, consisting of Aoyama, Sero, Kirishima, Kouda, and Shouto. And the rest of class A (as well as Aoyama again, for some reason) will be on the dance team. The next day Deku went to meet with All Might. He explained that he could only maintain 20% OFA for a short while and that it wasn’t enough to beat Overhaul and he needed some sort of long distance attack. All Might was all “then LET’S TAKE THIS OUTSIDE, SON”, and they went out to the forest and he had Deku activate 20% OFA and do a cool wind attack and fuck up some trees! And long story short, basically Deku has to learn how to utilize 20% OFA in just his hands rather than in full cowl, so that way he can whip out the wind attack whenever he wants without putting too much strain on himself. Having settled that, we then fast-forwarded one month later to the day of the cultural fest, (ETA: nope) with Mirio bringing Eri to U.A.

Today on BnHA: Mirio and Deku take Eri on a fun tour of U.A. to help her get a little more familiar with the place before the chaos and commotion of the festival. During the course of their wanderings they first come across the members of class B who are constructing the set and props for the fantasy play they’ll be doing in the festival. They then stop by to greet Hadou (who’s running for Miss Con which is basically a beauty pageant thing) and Tamaki before heading down to the support department, where they ooh and ahh at Mei’s cool giant robot. Finally they take a breather in the cafeteria and ask Eri what she thinks. She says she’s not sure, but since everyone is trying their hardest, she wants to see how it will turn out. The kids take that as a win, and Rat Principal -- who is sitting at a table nearby -- says that he’s excited too. We have a brief flashback to a meeting he had with the Commissioner General, who wanted U.A. to cancel the event. Rat Principal begged him to reconsider, saying that he felt it was necessary for the students. In the end they got the okay, on the stipulation that if the security is breached or the alarm goes off for any reason, the event will immediately be called off and evacuated. Back in the present, Deku bids Eri farewell, and one week later Mina abruptly boots him off of the dance team.

(As always, all comments not marked with an ETA are my unspoiled reactions from my first readthrough of this chapter. I’ve read up through chapter 199 now, so any ETAs will reflect that.)
