Why a vibrava and not a flygon?? Racking my brain for a reason Emmet wouldn't evolve it, but I'm coming up blank. Also, r.i.p. to Emmet, I know he can do it because he's him but trying to make an ariados good is so hard because of its garbage bst and moveset

yeah that is kind of weird lol! in-universe, it's not so much a choice as it is that i unfortunately don't think this emmet gets. a ton of chances to battle for fun and build up exp. at least not at the point in time i'm thinking of. + i did also say that spinarak and magikarp were unevolved, so it's possible that we're talking abt a younger emmet who has just, yknow, not had his pokemon for long enough to evolve them yet. really it's weirder that the salamance is evolved! but in that case it's also bc it probably is not specifically his salamence, as one that he stables and cares for and eventually steals so it does get more chances to be out and about than the rest of his team.

and re: ariados yeah lol, but also, as if the garbage bst and moveset are not part of the reason why emmet chose it lmao. this is "maybe the trainer should just git gud" himself we're talking about. though i do also think that if we're talking more anime-style battles that don't necessarily adhere 100% to game mechanics (as i generally write them), i think ariados' moveset has a ton of opportunities for nonstandard move applications and creative uses. string shot/sticky web, agility, psychic, toxic thread if you're willing to ignore the fact that that move won't exist for several generations ingame (although. also. i feel like if anyone was going to independently invent toxic thread to play off ariados' specific strengths, it would probably be emmet.) admittedly getting really creative with a single pokemon is probably more ingo's thing, but that doesn't mean emmet CAN'T do it it's just that he'd rather have more on the field. and you could probably also give it some creative interactions with the rest of the team! esp. playing off that dex entry thing that ariados apparently will covertly web and then track prey back to its home. that seems interesting.

Very picky about how people write reconciled Crowley and Rowena and even MORE picky over how people write reconciled Cas and Claire. These are the two absolutely devastating spn relationships that you just do not fuck around with in my opinion. Reconciliation plots for them can be done well but if you’re going in on either dynamic without giving the experience of both sides equal consideration then as a writer you have already lost

8. Favorite other character? okay i do not BELIEVE eberwolf counts as hagsquad because he wasn't there as a kid and THEREFORE!! we all know i'm eber's number one fan. if we are counting him next is camila.

12. Favorite friendship? probably luz and hunter. i just think their trauma-buddies-possibly-siblings-ride-or-die dynamic is fascinating.

22. Favorite fight scene from season 2? ECLIPSE LAKE. HANDS DOWN ECLIPSE LAKE. aside from being STUNNING from an animation point of view it is SO GOOD at forwarding both the characters and narrative that it supports. the added levels of depth from the fact that there's so many impactful variables , and the fact that it ends in a draw and is settled by a psychological battle? INCREDIBLE SHOWSTOPPING UNMATCHED.

No wait, I figured it out: none of their pokemon are ice types or have ice moves because they live next to the route 4 desert. Now, you'd think that this would be more reason to have one, because it must get sweltering in the summer, but alas - and I say this as someone from southern California - they are delicate desert flowers who wither in the cold. So sad for Ingo, his warm-climate adjusted ass got dropped straight into the Arctic. He's a greyhound amongst borzoi and huskies, in the Pearl Clan, and they make sure he has three sweaters and his coat on at all times.

actually game theory: one or both of them has actual cold-triggered chronic pain and like yeah, they COULD work around it to use ice-types, or they could just ignore it bc it's not like excluding it is stopping them from fucking wrecking people. depending on which way it swings, ingo's continuing not to use ice moves out of pure habit, or he is In Actual Hell (and has yet another reason to never let go of his coat and hat)

remembering how i not only filled my school folders with drawings, but also i drew elaborate things on my desk all the time out of boredom, and i actually met the girl who went to the afternoon shift in the same classroom and spot i sat at during that year as she was a cosplayer i briefly met for being in the local anime con scene.

i once tried to talk to her to maybe make friends with her, but she was very dismissive of me, and at a later date she just left me a message on our desk telling me to stop drawing stupid things and erased most of it, at which point i just felt really bad and never bothered or saw her again.

Here is my little Pippin & Boromir Comic about Courage!!

To give a little bit of Context, first of all I completely made this up haha I imagine this happening sometimes after setting off from Rivendell but before the Mines of Moria! So in the book after Pippin was alone in Gondor for quite some while, he felt very isolated and alone, very little and weak. (especially after being separated from Merry) and there were times where he stood at the walls of Minas Tirith and looked into the Horizon and could see that you know things are about to happen haha so i asked myself if Pippin ever thought about Boromir during that time, I always felt like that they shared a special bond. Maybe Pip reminded Boromir of Faramir especially when they were younger!

Anyways I really hope that you enjoy this little comic, it was so much fun to work on!!
