So I was at a restaurant recently and there was a waiter who looked exactly like goose, only younger and some tattoos on his arm.
The restaurant i was at, was kinda fancy but in a easy way if yk what i mean (you probably have no idea what i mean), it had a really chill vibe and everyone was very nice. I think goose would have definitely fit right in
Ofc my brain went BOOM TOP GUN WAITER AU!!!
So here are some of my thoughts (i dont think i ever did smth like this, let alone publish it but here i go i guess) :
Goose is about 20 bc the waiter looked aroud that age
He just finished school, is broke and had no idea what to do and saw a flyer that says that restaurant, near his and mavs flat, needs staff.
Mav and goose met in high-school and have been besties since
Goose gets the job as a waiter and somehow gets mav in there too. Probably the restaurant needing more staff and goose says "i know exactly the guy you are looking for" with a smirk
Goose meets this sweet and funny lady, who is a regular, he always gets excited when she comes to eat breakfast and he doesn't alow anyone else to serve her. (Do you call it serve or wait idk??)
He massively fails at flirting, mav and the others tease him because of it but carol thinks its cute.
Slider works in the kitchen, as well as merlin and sundown
Hollywood and Wolfman are waiters like goose and maverick
Slider has a good looking friend (ice ofc) who often comes to eat, he even is allowed (more or less) to visit slider in the kitchen and he always sneaks himslef a snack (that man is not sneaky)
All the staff ppl have nicknames (just need an excuse for their ✨️navy codenames✨️) and ofc goose gets his bc of his honking laugh and maverick bc he is in his own world when he is concentrating on his work, better at it when he his doing it on his own and hates it when others stick their nose in his work and disturb him.
Slider got his nickname bc he once dropped soup and sliped on it
Merlin has his because he is magicaly good at seasoning and always seasons the food like a wizard would, to make fun of it, but now its a habit of his
Mav nad ice always banter when ice is there and mav serves him often, they both start to develop a crush but wont tell eachother. They both have to big of an ego to admit to have a crush
Ofc goose knows and teases him because of it, but still tries to wingman the best he can (pun intended)
Mav flirts with customers to see ices reaction but also bc he is mav and he just does that
Also mav nad ice making out in the kitchen after everyone left and ice lingered up until mavs shift ended mmmmmmmmm
Thanks for reading this🫶!! Even though its just me rambling to feed my brain worms.
Maybe i will write more about this idk

Distant cousin in a sim named Eldon Ervin who visits sometimes. Short Bio: Simply put, Viana Walton is one with the animals. Happily stationed in Brindleton Bay with the top spot in the vet clinic, she spends her time walking with the stray cats and dogs around town, decorating and redecorating her home, and sometimes visiting her family in chestnut ridge to free-ride their horses. She hadn't really thought about a spouse for the future, since most of the guys her friend Supriya Delgato (townie) sets her up with are turned off by how animated she gets about her passions. But Dyana, her twin, got wind of this BC and encouraged her to enter. She's dubious, but Viana is willing to give it a shot. And if it doesn't work out, well, at least she has her occasional sneaky link Catarina Linx. 👀 Misc. Info: She loves denim. LOVES denim. Her mom is tomorangi and her dad is Chestnut-Ridgian, so she visits both places often. She thinks the lighthouse is haunted. And--sit down for this--Mayor Whiskers is her least favorite cat in the area.

No siblings, no pets, and if he wants to be around cute animals, he'll visit his distant cousin Viana in Brindleton Bay. Short Bio: You've heard of Mozart and Beethoven, but have you heard of Eldon Ervin? Well, if you watched Judith Ward's last big film, you'd know he was the driving force behind the movie's composition and theme song that catapulted him into stardom. An overachieving genius in every sense of the word, Eldon is looking to release the kind of legendary pieces his idols have in the past. He's noticed that the most heart-wrenching sonatas or concertos were inspired by love. So maybe this BC will bring him the muse he needs. Misc. Info: He likes sitting on benches near ponds and write poems in the rain. His parents are both spellcaster and somehow he came out with no magic at all. We don't talk about that. His favorite animal is a DUCK.

Xiantober Day 8 - Head Disciple!Xian
Yunmeng Jiang celebrates the promotion of their newest head disciple with festivities and merriment that last well into the night. It's a right of passage a chance for the new head disciple to shine.
Madame Yu canceled Wei Wuxian's ceremony.
She made a fair point, Wei Wuxian thinks. It was a difficult growing season and the harvest wasn't as good as last year's so it wouldn't do for them to celebrate while the villagers were suffering.
And yeah, the request for aid was also really important. It's just a shame that Uncle Jiang and Jiang Cheng both had to go for it, today of all days. Wei Wuxian had asked if he could have gone too, Jiang Cheng behind him nodding furiously as well. It would have been a great way to start his new role.
But Madam Yu said no.
Then, she took shijie off with her to visit their family. It wouldn't make sense for Wei Wuxian to go with them, he's not really their family. Shijie made him soup before she left, which will be perfect!
Wei Wuxian is okay with not having a ceremony. He sits on his favorite dock overlooking the lake, where the lotus blooms are especially big and he can see out behind the sea for miles, over to the vast landscape that awaits on the other side.
Years ago, when he first came to Yunmeng with Uncle Jiang, he couldn't even swim in the water for very long. It was the former head disciple who helped him then, teaching him to breathe between strokes so he's not holding his breath forever. They were also really kind, and never said anything about him being behind all the other kids. They gave him some extra practice after everyone left, and then some when Wei Wuxian had started to surpass the others.
He's gonna miss them now that they've moved off to marry into a new clan, but Wei Wuxian thinks he can keep their memory alive.
He didnt actually care much for the head disciple role. It was just a role and well as long as he gets to go on night hunts and save good people what does it matter what title he wears?
Still, when Uncle Jiang sat him down and told him he'd got the role, Wei Wuxian accepted it with gravity for what it would mean.
He liked helping with the younger trainees. At Yunmeng, everyone trains together, from the moment you can hold a sword properly you can join the older disciples.
Wei Wuxian had loads of experience helping the younger kids out, and it's a lot of fun!
They're a sneaky bunch and gangly and 3-shimei really needs to stop waving her sword around like it's still made of wood for crying out loud.
But they're also earnest and hardworking and adorable, and they look at Wei Wuxian like he could never do wrong, and well, he wants to prove them right.
So it doesn't matter if he doesn't get a fancy ceremony. He doesn't need it. All he needs is to help the other disciples and make Jiang Sect the best there is and ever was. Attempt the impossible, and succeed.
"Da-shixiong?"
A timid voice calls out from behind Wei Wuxian and he peers around to see a group of disciples, some around his age and some a little younger, loitering near the pavillion.
"Aiya, what are you guys doing here? Didn't Jiang-shuhu give you drills to run through?"
Technically, Wei Wuxian was supposed to help them with these drills, but okay maybe he needs a break sometimes and maaaaaybe he wanted to wallow just a little bit.
This disciples shuffle together, nudging at each other to say something. They're so funny Wei Wuxian has to bite his lips to keep from laughing at them.
Finally 6-shidi, the youngest and probably Wei Wuxian's favorite, comes over to Wei Wuxian's side. "Da-shixiong! We wanted to show you something!" he yells directly into his face, spittle flying everywhere. It's a good thing he's so cute.
Wei Wuxian raises a brow. "Okay…"
He follows the nervous group back from where they came, really hoping they haven't broken something. First day on the job and already there's something for Madame Yu to yell at him about.
Ah well, better him than the kids.
Before they turn the corner into the main training grounds, 6-shidi does an abrupt about face and stares determinedly up at Wei Wuxian, since he's still a good couple heads shorter than him.
"Da-shixiong, close your eyes!"
Wei Wuxian does so, and the little hands pull him forward. Someone covers his eyes so he can't perk but he can hear them moving around and whispering. At some point there's the sound of something dropping, a plate? Then the sound of furious whispering and Wei Wuxian has to laugh now.
Finally, the hand moves away from his eyes and he opens them, blinking as he adjusts to the bright afternoon sunlight illuminating the courtyard. When he can see, he looks around at the tables on the floor piled high with sweets from the market and freshly cooked dishes, even an extra large tureen of shijie's soup.
There's a space set up for games on the other side of the yard, simple ones like kite shooting and an archery set up with funny faces drawn on the target. A table near the center that must be the place of honor is covered with jars of liquor, and beside the table is… Jiang Cheng?
Wei Wuxian gapes at him. Jiang Cheng scowls at something unseen in a corner, arms crossed protectively over his chest. "I snuck away. Dad knows. Don't make a big deal out of it."
How can he not??? Wei Wuxian practically leaps across the courtyard to smother Jiang Cheng in a hug.
And even though Jiang Cheng complains, Wei Wuxian notices he doesn't try to shove him off.
6-shidi tugs on his sleeve to get his attention and says, "What do you think, Da-shixiong? We put this all together for you! I helped draw the faces!"
A chorus of voices sounds out around him as all his little shidi and shimei clamber over to tell him how they contributed. Wei Wuxian beams at them all, laughing and laughing and not sure if he's ever going to stop. He sniffles a little bit.
Like he said, he doesn't need ceremony when he has a sect like this one.

Epic Battle Against Stabbing Throat Pain: How to Win!
Don't Suffer in Silence: Defeat Stabbing Throat Pain Now!
Tumblr media
Hey there, fellow throat warriors! We've all been there – that sudden, stabbing pain in your throat that feels like you just swallowed a cactus. Ouch! But fear not, because in this guide, we're diving headfirst into the world of stabbing throat pain, uncovering why it happens and, most importantly, how to bid it adieu.
Understanding Stabbing Throat Pain: The Culprits and Causes
The Usual Suspects: Common Causes of Stabbing Throat Pain
So, picture this: you're enjoying a fine meal, and suddenly, you're hit with a sharp pain that could rival a ninja's attack. What's going on? Here are some of the usual suspects causing that pesky stabbing sensation:
Tonsillitis Takes the Stage: Tonsillitis, those pesky inflamed tonsils, can be a prime culprit. Whether it's a viral or bacterial infection, these swollen glands can feel like a mini-dagger in your throat.
Strep Throat Strikes Back: Strep throat, caused by sneaky Streptococcus bacteria, doesn't just bring a sore throat to the party. It brings a stabbing sensation that can make you question if you've been fencing in your sleep.
Acid Reflux Intruder: Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) might sound fancy, but it's just acid from your stomach playing the "let's visit the throat" game. A stabbing pain is the prize for this not-so-fun ride.
Taming the Beast: How to Find Relief
Now, let's talk about the good stuff – how to kick that sharp throat pain to the curb and regain your peace.
Remedies You Can Try at Home: When it's not the apocalypse, but you still need relief, these home remedies have your back. Warm teas, honey, and even a dash of ginger can make that pain pack its bags.
Over-the-Counter Allies: Pharmacies are stocked with magical potions that can help. Lozenges, throat sprays, and pain relievers can give you the upper hand in this throat battle.
Seeking Professional Aid: If the pain is giving you a run for your money, it's time to call in the experts. Your friendly neighborhood doctor can prescribe antibiotics or recommend a treatment plan that'll have you back in action.
My Personal Battle with Stabbing Throat Pain
That One Time I Mistook Throat Pain for a Marathon Medal
Okay, maybe not a marathon medal, but it did feel like I'd swallowed a porcupine. One day, while passionately belting out my favorite tunes (apologies to my neighbors), I felt an unexpected stab in my throat. Panic ensued as I visualized my future as a silent mime. But a soothing cup of honey-infused tea and some rest gave me back my voice – and my sanity.
Debunking Myths: What Not to Do When Stabbing Pain Strikes
Mythbusters: Dispelling Common Misconceptions
Now, let's clear the air on a few myths that might just worsen your already cranky throat:
Myth #1: Gargling with Salt Water is Your Only Savior: While salt water gargles do offer relief, they're not the only solution in the arsenal. Think of them as your trusty sidekick, not the superhero.
Myth #2: Ignoring the Pain Will Make It Go Away: I get it – denial is a cozy place. But ignoring stabbing throat pain won't make it vanish. Ignored pain can lead to bigger issues, so be kind to your throat.
Preventing the Invasion: Tips for Keeping Stabbing Throat Pain at Bay
They say prevention is better than cure, and it holds true for throat pain too. Here are some tips to help you dodge the dagger:
Stay Hydrated: Hydration isn't just for desert wanderers. A well-hydrated throat is a happy throat. Sip on water and soothing teas throughout the day.
Voice Rest is No Joke: If your job involves belting out ballads or long phone conversations, give your vocal cords a break. Rest is your throat's best friend.
Avoid Trigger Foods: Acidic, spicy, and greasy foods can irritate your throat, turning it into a battleground. Opt for soothing soups and gentle snacks instead.
Tumblr media
Conclusion: From Stabbing to Singing
There you have it, throat adventurers! Stabbing throat pain might catch you off guard, but armed with these strategies, you're ready to face it head-on. Remember, relief is within reach, and your voice will be back in action sooner than you think. So, drink your tea, rest your pipes, and let's bid that stabbing sensation adieu for good!

i watched like 10mn of smash during the warmups before the event actually started. since ut was an actual esports thing you kinda have to register before participating. also you have to bring your own switch. oops.
i retreated to the bar area where i helped the barmaid solve a sudoku (hard mode)
all the nerds who came by to buy food or drinks were adorably polite (formal pronouns and everything)
i helped close the place. again. this is becoming a common occurence, maybe i should start getting paid for this. apparently it's how most of the staff gets hired
the megalomaniac Supreme President Overlord of the university paid us a visit and stayed for an hour or two, he asked uncomfortable questions to the bartender for a while then just spent his time on the phone (the bar was empty just me the barmaid another regular at the bar plus this guy pacing back and forth doing Business). very unpleasant for everyone involved. on edge the whole time
my friends came late, turns out the invite to drink beer at the smash tournament meant. parallel to the tournament. because smash night means the bar closes later and no one's there so we can just fuck around
we had a bunch of free beer at the bar, played at the football table, had more beers (free (while Douchebag Supreme was still around surveilling us, we had to be sneaky abt the beer)) smoked outside on the ground (with more beers (but i didnt smoke i stopped last year)), i got a leek (free leek, leftover charity leek) so i'm gonna make some soup
things got Weird things got Emotionnal things got Weirder i didn't even get drunk i didn't even play smash but i spent an amazing time with the squad (new squad (chicken squad)) and now i'm going home with a free leek

Manifestation of a Monster (chapter 20)
Tumblr media
With her heart racing, Amy clutched the crumpled piece of paper. She slowly opened it and looked at the alphabet soup of numbers and letters on it. She had to be careful for this to work. This was not a quiz for a class. On the other hand, she took them quite seriously. But having to repeat a semester was far worse than death.
There was also no way to deny it. There was a genuine chance that she could have been killed if she messed up. There was uncertainty around her visit to the north side that day. She couldn’t believe how far it was from the safety of the hotel. He was going to want his crew with him when he met with her; she was certain of it. Maybe he’s just being sneaky again. It was almost as though he didn’t want anyone else to find out. Having a meeting in a public place.
If she hadn’t needed to take a taxi, or if she was at least vaguely familiar with the area, she might have felt more at ease. Possibly, he was aware of this and purposely kept her on edge. Worse yet, it seemed to be doing its job.
He gave her the location, which was a quaint restaurant on the outskirts of town. It looked like the plant life had nearly run it over. The vines covered not only the building’s exterior but also the vast portion of the courtyard leading up to it. Heavy abstract metal sculptures lined the path from a metal gate to the cafe’s entrance. There was someone else behind them. She felt sure of it. And she knew she was inviting danger if she approached the door any further.
She slowly made her way to the entrance. Her early arrival was around 30 minutes earlier than expected. She planned to find a seat and settle comfortably before Richard entered. It was what she planned, at least.
The bald man in the distant corner jumped to his feet as she entered. Giving no mistake that he had noticed her. Sweat beaded at the back of her neck as she swallowed. Starting at that moment, she wouldn’t have the luxury of showing emotion. Until she felt safe and was no longer threatened by this man (or monster).
The cafe building itself was charming. Vegetation wasn’t limited to the front yard garden. It was hard to tell whether the vines on the wall were real or fake. If it weren’t for this first impression, she could picture herself enjoying a visit here.
As Amy approached, he grabbed the seat next to him. If she could have forgotten their previous encounter, she could have thought he was just being courteous. However, in a feeble attempt to assert her dominance, she took the third seat at the table. While she was sitting down, he pushed the chair he was holding in. He took a seat in front of Amy again in the chair that he had earlier occupied.
That was when she noticed a half-eaten sandwich in front of him. She had always thought vampires couldn’t eat human food. This changed things.
"I didn’t order for you," he said as he sat back down. "Of course I could have. I have a special talent for reading people." To anyone else, she would have seen this as bragging or just showing off. But from him, it felt like a threat. He tapped the surface of the table multiple times. A beat for quiet, a word of silence. "I suggest that you go get some food." He eyed her for a quick moment. "Not a meat eater. What a shame. Perhaps the avocado egg deluxe. Their food really is to die for." The smile he gave her was pleasant enough, if not for the sinister eyes that accompanied it.
"Not hungry." A quick resolution was all she wanted. Placing her hands under the table to hide her shaking hands. But she wouldn’t have put it past him, not to know what she was already feeling. As nervous as she was, he seemed equally relaxed.
He looked disappointed at her refusal to eat. A fingertip pushed down on his plate as he spoke. "It’s impolite to eat in front of someone who isn’t going to eat as well."
"I thought your kind couldn’t eat human food," Amy asked, both as a distraction and out of curiosity.
At first, he was silent. "What exactly do you think you know about MY kind?" He spoke with venom and malice. Had she hit a button? This was good. The more she knew what made him emotional, the better chance she had. But she still needed to be cautious. She knew nothing about him other than the fact that he was potentially harmful.
He looked at the sandwich with contempt. "I don’t NEED it. But I have grown accustomed to the simple joys in life. Growing up, I thought I was human. It’s true, this will not benefit my body in any proper way. But I found it." He went silent for a moment, as if thinking about something before looking back up at her. "Are you sure I can’t persuade you to have something to eat? What do you say, my treat?"
"I’m still not hungry."
"I give up. Your loss." He gave up and threw up his hands. Like one would with a close friend. And she was sure that this was just another tacit tick intended to make her feel uneasy. "I brought you here for a reason. There’s no need to put this off any longer." He crossed his palms over his chin and looked at Amy with a serious expression. "What’s your connection to Milo? I’m sure you are well aware of what he’s capable of?"
Hearing it from another person made her realise the severity of the threat for the first time. She was unaware of Richards’s connection to Milo or his obsession with him. However, he appeared to be terrified. And if he, too, was afraid of Milo, it said a lot. How could she possibly win? "Before we go any further, I need you to explain how you know him. Along with other things."
If Justin was indeed a transformed victim, she would need to know what to do to save him. "There’s something I don’t get. How is this information being kept hidden? For what reason hasn’t this been reported? Any secret that is known by more than one person is no longer a secret at all."
She felt her stomach sink as his grin grew wider. "They don’t talk, because we don’t let them." Amy couldn’t guess the meaning, but she was convinced it signified something bad. "But this is about Milo." His words reverberated around the space, bringing her full attention back to herself.
She was met with a scowl from him. "And how do I appear to you? What distinguishes me from any other human, you know?I can eat food. I can walk in the daylight. What if my outer appearance says I’m nothing more than a human?" She thought of his eyes, but even that wasn’t obvious until she noticed them.
She understood every word, even while he spoke in riddles. She felt her claws drive in as she gripped the chair’s side. Finally, giving in with a groan, he leaned closer. As darkness descended around her, their gazes met. All she could see were his crimson red eyes. She felt dizzy, but was pulled back to the present by a loud crack.
He relaxed in his chair and smiled at her icily. You want to know how we’ve remained somewhat under the radar in this town, right? After some thought, she nodded her head in agreement.
"I ask, what brings you here today?"
Amy knew the reason. She was curious as to what Milo was and what Justin had gotten himself into. She opened her mouth to say something, but only a choked chirp came out.
He gave her a knowing grin, as if he had expected this outcome. To which he replied, "What’s my name?" Exactly what am I? Where are you, more important?"
There was never any definitive proof that he was indeed Richard, the name she saw on the business card, but she knew that was who he was. She knew he was a vampire and that no one would do anything to save her life if he tried to take it. His type ran the cafe. She didn’t know how she’d figured all this out, but she did. The saddest part was that her voice had betrayed her. I don’t know if that was all she could come up with.
"Now you know." She was beginning to hate his smirk.
"Where is Milo? That is all I need to know." He glared her down. His words were hard and cruel.
At that moment, Amy grabbed her confidence. She couldn’t control her laughter, and it spread quickly. "You filled me in on all that information. Didn’t you? I’ll wager you tried to get it out of me, too, but failed." Seeing Richard’s face confirmed her suspicions, and she realised she was correct. "Although I may be unable to speak openly, my privacy will always be protected."
"To find out what happened to your family, you must not kill me. She was taken aback by what she had heard. Before this, she never would have mentioned the word family. Somehow, Richard managed to give her that without realising it. "Is Milo related to you?" Curious as to the significance of this.
"Family?" he thought to himself, giggling maniacally. What a simple-minded viewpoint! This is just a catch-all phrase for when you need to keep the various departments in check. In reality, not a single one of us has much sympathy. I just have to find him since it’s my job. He was resting one hand on his chin. "Just why are you protecting him? That is, unless you honestly do not know. There’s no point in worrying about it." His hand vanished under the table. Amy couldn’t stop thinking about the possibility that he was carrying a knife. This was it. If she didn’t act now, she would be dead. "3870 Foster place." Amy let out a deep sigh as her last words were said. Richard’s hand suddenly froze, and his eyes widened. It was almost as if she had pressed the pause button on him.
"What did you say?" As he spoke, his face drained of all colour.

Ok so the real reason they have like a shit ton of adopted kids is that every time they come across an orphan the army totally is all about Xiao Qi adopting it and bringing it home. He’s all I have 8 kids all ready why don’t one of you take this one. And his men just pull the whole What would Wang Fei say? And just like that another waif gets added to his ever growing hoard.
What a precious headcanon! Thank you very much for sharing it! And yes, I am sure that Xiao Qi’s subordinates have a metric tonne of fun at his expense... but it remains to be seen who has the last laugh!
See, it’s all good and well to tease your boss about his child-hoarding tendencies, especially as he doesn’t mind all that much and in fact, seems to take strange pride in this new-found habit of his. Besides, it’s not like you would leave an orphan or five to starve in a ditch, what are you, a monster?! No, no, it’s only proper that they get taken care of and it’s not like the great Ningshuo Army can’t spare a blanket and some soup to tide those kids over on the way back to the fortress.
Oh, okay, sure you can share your saddle with one of the poor mites. Not like your horse will even notice the extra weight. Hmm, this kid is really disturbingly light and seems to consists of nothing but bird-like bones and huge, watery eyes. Those eyes, by the way, keep following your every move; thank the gods for being a battle-hardened veteran, otherwise you would have suffered an embarrassing defeat, struck utterly dead by this kid’s disconcertingly trusting gaze.
Telling your tiny passenger a few war stories out of your considerable repertoire is simply the most easiest way to pass time while on horseback! And yes, you try to edit the less kid-friendly details – for all that the tyke seems to enjoy them a lot – because why court Wangfei’s displeasure in vain? You are not all that worried about Dawang, having incidentally heard his rendition of the Huizhou Siege. It was neither kid-friendly nor soldier-friendly, not with those calf eyes he kept making throughout the whole story. Ugh. Wangfei is absolutely amazing, but there is a reason why you chose to stick to bachelorhood, despite being an object of a great number of girly sighs in your prime. Not that you are not in your prime now, even if the upcoming autumn chill reminds you that a position as a purser is yours for the taking, should you say a word.
Oh, we’re here already? You haven’t really noticed the passage of time, too preoccupied with explaining to your charge that no Hulan posse, no matter how sneaky, will ever manage to get to him while under your protection. Don’t worry, kid, Wangfei will take excellent care of you, I promise. Hey, don’t cry, no need for that! You have my word that I am not disappearing forever, not like… I will visit, I swear! Yes, even tomorrow, if you wish. Ningshuo soldiers don’t lie, you’ll learn that soon enough. And really, you can let go of my vambrace now.
Dawang? Haven’t seen you, sorry! But… do you think it would be inappropriate if I was to be called… Well, not a Dad, but maybe an Uncle…?

Spyro: Reignited review part 4
Cliff Town! And now we're Definitely further than where I ever made it into the game myself. This is all new territory for us~ But it's been pretty fun so far. Each success has felt great, and honestly I do feel great even with some small things, like turning around and finding gems here and there, looking behind corners and finding chests etc. A handful of those moments came during this level. I also took a break here to go to eat some soup, so I kinda got to come in fresh after all that had come before. Yeah people who speedrun these games would have already been done with the game, but I'm not as talented, experienced, nor am I in a hurry, so imma just... Chill with my 3½-ish hours of gameplay at this point, maybe 4 hours, something like that. Anyway. As I kinda guessed, I fell down the cliff edge as I was chasing the thief. Those turns, they were so stiff. We're starting to see a bit of a thing here with those controls. But I'm getting a little more confident with charging. There's a lot of ground to cover so we gotta charge to get around faster. It's still fairly stiff, but not too fast to me anymore. I certainly got my share of running in Dry Canyon. Running in that same circle over and over again, jump charging up the stairs etc. We're getting the hold of it. Even made the big jump from the top of the building over the river on first try. Charging + Jumping is really working out for me with those glides now. I did later on fail it once, I Think, but other than that, things went pretty well overall~ I also like the ladies near those brewing pots. I dunno why, I just, like them. I can't explain what it is about them. It's not the fact that they have minions, or that they cook, or the fact they slap you and that doesn't necessarily damage you. I dunno what it is, but I like them
Ice Cavern! Ok now This one I've been waiting for~~ For a reason, that I'll get to. But firstly, I remember the bigger purple Gnorks being somewhat intimidating or something when I was a kid, it was either that or the fact that there were no borders and the thread of falling off the edge was real. It was intimidating. Now I was a bit cautious, not running and charging everywhere, but it was pretty alright, especially with those areas inside where you weren't at the risk of dying every chance you did an accidental click on those shoulder buttons and made a dive roll to either side (god I did that accidentally, not like die but rolled near an edge unintentionally and gave myself a heart attack with that. Please, cheer heart attack has a weakness and it's stress spikes like these). The level is super atmospheric and I love the way it looks~ But this was probably my first time going 'mmmm, the music is fine, it's not bad, but it's not a favourite either' (speaking of music, Night Flight, I didn't mention it before, but that song is pretty nice! Just that, I keep repeatedly hearing the first few notes and then the level resets. It's almost memey, but also sad) Listening to it on youtube I can still appreciate it, and it sounds good, better when you don't have to focus on not dying and falling. but speaking of falling and dying... So... Those... Few steps, jumps near the exit and dragon and stuff. I said to myself that yo, jumping near a place like this is really not a good idea. It's slippery, a thin-ish area, it includes a bit of gliding to get from 1 platform to another and if you miss or fail 50% of the time you're going to fall to your death. And boy did I fall, so, many, times.... I spent, at least 10 or so minutes trying to get all those gems, and then the last jump, that was easy but I'm glad I took it just to be sure rather than taking the chance of 'maybe another road leads to there' because I'm still not sure if there is that other road or not, but I completed that part and that's good. Also nailed that jump to the 3 extra lives on first try, thank you youtube video for that little secret. It was nice But you know what's even better? Todor. Yes yesyes. My fave boy he's heeeere~~ I dunno if he's still my favourite, but he's Definitely up there still. I love he design of this boyo so much. Watch me replaying his animations and clips over and over again just to see more of him. Yes. I did that xD There's also a handful of other good bois with nice designs over here, but Todor though, what a good boi. Also I just, like and love lots of Ice related things, even if those jumps were brutal and painful, I still like Winter themed stuff, so I ain't even mad Dr. Shemp! Bossss time, but first let us discover this second amazing place to grind for lives~ The skybox here is amazing too (some stuff gives me anxiety and there be phobias, but this just, looks so gorgeous and it's Spyro so I'll just be happy, it's kinda therapeutic in a way, helps me cope) This will come in handy in the future. Feel proud for discovering that one enemy hiding and torching her before she could pull a sneaky on me. Proud~ I then proceed to fail that long jump a handful of times. I give up on that, I can reset he level by traveling elsewhere to cheat death after failing the jump later if I want to. Time for Shemp. And he was kinda fun, not gonna lie. The last phase took a few hit and run attempts as I was trying to bait him to hit me, dodge and try flaming him. Still, eventual success and after having to reset the level because there was no going back to the other side unless I defeated Shemp again or something (I felt lazy), I managed to finally get that last gem. 100%, nice, and we're onwards to the next world~ I'll write on the dragons a little later, it's 5:20am and I got a dentist visit coming so I'm rather get these out the way first

Chapter III - One Point Perspective
“Good morning, Nicholas,” she greeted, joining him at the breakfast table. “Have the others already eaten?” Nick’s jaw momentarily stopped chewing his food as he glanced down at his watch with a surprised expression, before he swallowed. “Uhm, I didn’t expect you to be up this early, miss. I’m pretty sure Matt is still in bed. Jamie’s in the kitchen, though. I could ask him to cook you up something.”
“Oh, don’t worry. I’ll go ask him myself. I wasn’t sure what time breakfast would be served, and I wanted to take an early walk through the garden,” she explained. Nick quickly shook his head and before she could protest, he’d already barged into the kitchens.
After having a nice and simple meal with eggs on toast with Jamie consistently reminding her that he could make her a dish more elaborate if she desired and her cutting him off and telling him it was delicious, she wrapped herself in her coat and finally headed outside.
The fresh morning air hit her face and instantly woke her up as she breathed in the smell of freshly cut grass, pine trees and that distinct whiff of autumn. Her feet carried her across the gravel pathways which lead her around symmetrically cut hedges and marble statues overgrown with moss. It was a peaceful environment, the only sounds being produced by the running fountain, wafting wind and chirping birds around her.
She eventually found herself in front of the stables and her keen eyes sleekly moved across the field to see if she was being watched. No one ever really gave her a reason to believe she wasn’t allowed in the stables, but the mysterious impression the hotel and staff were giving her made her doubt everything she was doing. When she felt the coast was clear, she slowly opened the creaky wooden door and stepped through.
She hadn’t noticed a curtain shift on the second floor of the Grand Tranquility Hotel.
There were about five boxes, but only one held a horse. It was the one she had spotted through the window yesterday; the rowdy one Matt was trying to calm. It had a dark brown coat and a white triangle-like shape on its head. She slowly approached it, and when her hand reached out to touch it, it only huffed in response. She smiled and ran her fingers along its neck. “You’re a real beauty, aren’t you?” she muttered.
“That’s Mardy,” a voice behind her said. She jumped and the horse made a noise of protest. She turned to meet Matt’s calculating gaze and put a hand over her rapidly beating heart. “Christ, Matthew. You scared me.”
“I’m sorry, miss. I didn’t mean to sneak up on you. It’s just that Mardy usually has a bit of a temper and doesn’t do well around new people. But it appears that she likes you,” he told her. She raised her brows, “and what if she didn’t like me? What would you have done?” Matt blinked, clearly not having thought through that his guest could’ve gotten hurt purely because he was curious. She let out a chuckle. “It’s fine. I’m afraid I was being sneaky, too. I wasn’t really sure if I was allowed in the stables.”
“Why wouldn’t you be allowed in the stables, ma’am?” he asked her with his eyebrows furrowed in confusion. “I don’t know…”she replied, thinking it over, “It’s just the vibe the hotel is giving me, I suppose. I can’t really explain it. I must seem like an idiot, I’m sorry.”
“Not at all, miss. I know exactly what you mean.”
Matt took her on a more extended tour around the gardens and told her of the origins of Mardy’s name. One of his co-worker’s old girlfriends – he wouldn’t say who – went by the name Mardy and he explained that they always used to call her Mardy Bum because she had such a bad temper. “Perhaps the horse is payback for that nickname,” she laughed. “Probably,” he grinned, “Now that you mention it, she kind of did remind me of a horse.”
“I was wondering if you could tell me a bit about how the hotel started?” she hesitantly wondered. Matt seemed to remain calm, so she felt a heap of weight fall off of her. “It was really all Alex’ plan. He’d been friends with Miles since high school and they’d always talked about opening a hotel together. When Miles became mayor, he’d upheld his promise and made sure Alex had the funds to make their dream come true.”
“So that’s why the mayor visits so often,” she concluded. Matt nodded, “They’re still great friends to this day. I met Alex in college, and we quickly became mates. When he told me that he’d hire me as staff in his hotel that he was convinced he was going to open, I’d laughed with him and jokingly told him I’d want nothing more. I didn’t think he could actually make it happen, and yet here we are.”
“You must’ve felt very proud of him.” “I did. I still do,” he smiled, “We’ve been through a lot together. Don’t tell him I said that, though. He might be my mate, but I wouldn’t want to add to his already massive ego. He’s still an idiot.”
They arrived back at the hotel just in time for lunch, and this time Jamie and Nick were both already waiting at a table for them, casually holding conversation. “I didn’t know what you’d like,” Jamie explained, “but I wasn’t going to let you have me make you a grilled cheese sandwich or whatever other basic lunch item you most likely would’ve picked.” He waved towards the trays of sliced fruits, triangularly cut sandwiches, pastries and a big steaming pot of some sort of vegetable soup. “I really appreciate it, Jamie, but it’s a tad excessive. I’m only your guest and I don’t need any special treatment from you,” she tried to communicate, but Jamie was having none of it. “Nonsense. You’re our favourite guest. Just don’t tell mister Turner I said that. Or the mayor.”
“Tell me what?”
She nearly choked on her tea and gently set the cup back down before she would drop the expensive china. She turned to meet the now familiar brown gaze as Nick quickly filled the hotel owner in; “We were just talking about how much we enjoy the missus’ company, mister Turner. She’s been very kind to us.”
Alex’ calculating gaze landed on her, and he hummed. “I suppose she has been very kind. You don’t mind my staff joining you during your meals, do you, miss?” “Not at all,” she replied, “In fact, it was my suggestion they join me.” His eyebrows sleekly quirked up. “Is that so? Then you wouldn’t mind me pulling up a chair?” She was at a loss for words for a moment, not having expected this sort of behaviour, so she simply just shook her head. The others seemed a bit uneasy as well. It was clear to her that he never did this sort of thing with any of his guests, and perhaps neither with his staff.
While Jamie ladled the soup in each person’s bowl, Alex leaned his elbows on the table, his fingers adorned with golden rings intertwining as his eyes locked with hers. She didn’t look away, but she sure as hell didn’t feel as bold as Matt had been when he’d talked back against the hotel owner just yesterday.
“I was wondering what the purpose of your stay was, miss? If you don’t mind me asking, of course,” he said, a glint forming in his eyes. His voice was as smooth as velvet and though there was an underlying tone that made her uncomfortable, it also provoked a different feeling deep in her stomach. Something she wouldn’t necessarily describe as a bad feeling. She just hadn’t experienced anything like it in years.
“Well, as I told you before, I’m curious about your hotel. A writer’s instinct, I suppose.”
“But that couldn’t have been the only reason to visit this particular hotel. Lots of hotels have interesting stories,” he continued to prod. She hesitated. “I suppose you’re right,” she said. “My mother used to visit this hotel on her birthday each year. She always talked about it in such high regards, I had to see what the fuss was about. She passed away a few months ago, you see. Her birthday would have been tomorrow.”
“I’m sorry for your loss,” he said quietly, and it was with a sincerity she hadn’t expected. “I’m glad we made her feel comfortable.”
Matt cleared his throat, “Maybe we could hold something in celebration tomorrow, boss. I’m sure her mother would have liked that.”
“What do you suggest?” Alex asked. “Just a small gathering. We could kill two birds with one stone and celebrate that other thing we talked about as well,” Matt replied vaguely. Alex hummed, “I’ll think about it. I’ll let you know at dinner.”
Jamie’s eyebrows nearly shot through the roof. “You- You’ll be joining us for dinner, sir?!” “Of course, I am,” Turner answered, as if it was the most natural thing in the world to suddenly join his staff during meals when he hadn’t done so in a very long time, “I’d like to get to know our guest a bit better.” It was in the sultry way he’d said it that made her doubt his intentions. She had a feeling dinner was going to be a real ordeal.
While they finished their soup and ate the various delights spread across the table, they held conversation, but this time it felt more strained and superficial and she had a good feeling it was because of mister Turner. He didn’t say much else throughout lunch and when they had finished, he politely bade them farewell and took off to do god knows what. Her eyes followed him as he buttoned his jacked and clenched his jaw until his tense shoulders disappeared around the corner of the hallway. His feet carried him in such a way she was almost entranced by watching him come and go. He was a fascinating figure, to say the least.
“I wouldn’t worry too much about tonight, miss,” Nick snapped her out of her trance, “Mister Turner might be a bit held back, but he’s a man of honour. He’d want nothing more than to commemorate one of his guests.” “Then why does he have to think it over?” she wondered. Matt sighed, “he probably just needs to map out how things will be arranged for tomorrow. Just let it sink in. It’s how he usually deals with these things. He’ll lose his train of thought otherwise.”
She’d spent the rest of the afternoon roaming around the grand hotel, taking in the scenery and paintings when she stumbled upon the library. It was an open room, not nearly as big as the dining hall but still very spacious. Bookshelves built up to the ceiling that were filled to the brim, illuminated by the last rays of sunlight streaming through the large windows. Rugs with various designs were strewn across the floor and the velvety curtains along with the matching red loveseats gave a warm and inviting impression. Before she knew it, she’d gotten lost in one of her favourite books that she’d accidentally stumbled upon and Matt was already asking her if she was ready to have dinner.
“Is you escorting me to various rooms becoming a thing now?” she asked with a smirk. Matt chuckled, “Only if you’d want it to be, ma’am. I for one, wouldn’t mind.” She playfully smacked his arm and a blush dusted his cheeks.
Nick appeared to have been alone and anxiously waiting for their arrival when they entered the hall. He informed them that Jamie was still in a craze about getting everything perfect for when she and mister Turner arrived, and she couldn’t help but pity the man. It was his job, of course, but she’d always been the person who didn’t want other people to fuss over her. She was about to get up to go and ask Jamie if he needed any help when the hotel owner himself casually strode in and took his seat across from her.
When he finally acknowledged Matt’s intensely questioning gaze, he sighed. “I’ve mulled it over and I’ve decided that your mother should be commemorated at the gathering tomorrow.” “What made you reach your final decision, if I may ask?” she questioned curiously. Before he could answer, Matt cleared his throat. Alex shot a look at him, silently conversing something, before answering, “I’d looked over some of the files in our archive. Matthew and Nick had both already voiced the fact they found you to have a familiar face. Only when we found your mother’s old details did they remember who she was, and they only had good things to say about her.”
“Your mother actually helped me get the job,” Nick informed her. “Really?” she smiled. “She did. I was young and didn’t have much experience. I applied for the job as a secretary at the place she worked, but they didn’t really need any more staff. So, she helped me get a job here. Wrote a letter to mister Turner herself, she did.” “I still have that letter,” Alex murmured quietly. He looked so fond when he’d said it, she could see he’d never had any regrets about hiring Nick. His stoic façade snapped back in place when Jamie barged through the kitchen doors.
“Good evening,” he said, slightly out of breath and sweating, “My name is Jamie and I will be your chef during your stay here. May I take your order?”
“You don’t have to introduce yourself, Jamie,” Matt whispered to him, but Jamie quickly shushed him. An awkward pause followed; Alex silently observing the chef with a raised eyebrow until Jamie had realized his mistake. He came back with a set of menus.
Dinner went surprisingly well. Apart from their chef’s worried glances to his boss, his boss’ calculating gaze and Nick accidentally throwing wine over himself, there was no further incident. She’d even had a bit of wine herself, and she was feeling a tad woozy because of it.
“I think I’m going to take a stroll trough the hallways and then retire for the night. Enjoy the rest of your evening, gentlemen,” she said as she got up from her chair. Alex stood as well, and the others automatically followed, but more out of obligation. The hotel owner eyed them in irritation, before asking her, “Mind if I join you?” She paused for a moment. “Not at all.”
She didn’t know if he’d expected to gain some sort of information by accompanying her, but he certainly wasn’t making an effort by remaining silent for the first few minutes. Eventually he seemed to cave when she’d stopped to inspect a painting. It was a picture of a great ship in a lightning storm. “You appreciate art?” She raised a brow at him, “Does that surprise you?” She’d sworn she’d seen a flicker of amusement cross his features before that wall went up again. “I didn’t mean to offend you, madam. It’s just that usually the people who visit this hotel are the people who buy paintings just to own them, not to admire them.” “Well, I’m not the usual people, am I?”
“You are most certainly not,” he quietly muttered.
He continued to bewilder her by showing her the hidden gems of the hotel, the paintings and statues hidden in the crooks and corners. Something in particular stood out; a group photo taken in front of the hotel. A bunch of people were waiving their arm at her, with Alex proudly standing in the front, shaking hands with who she presumed to be Miles Kane. He looked so young, a messy mop of hair on his head and a bright smile adorning his face. Quite the contrast to the serene man standing next to her today. On his other side were Matt and Jamie with their arms wrapped around what seemed to be another staff member. She wondered if he’d lost his job, too.
“That was when the hotel first opened,” he explained. “These were the first visitors. I believe your mother is in the top right corner there.” Taking a closer look, she indeed spotted her mum. It made her heart ache to see her so happy and healthy. She’d almost forgotten what she’d looked like before getting sick. She turned to meet the hotel owner’s gaze. “Thank you for showing me this.” And she meant it. He only hummed in response.
She took a moment’s hesitation before asking, “What happened to the hotel?”
When his gaze hardened almost instantly, she knew she’d made a mistake. “I don’t think that’s any of your business.” “I don’t mean any harm, I was just curious,” she tried to explain, but he wasn’t having it. “Perhaps if you didn’t spend as much time sticking your nose in other people’s business you would’ve published a book by now,” he snarled.
She was at a loss for words. So, he continued, “It’s probably best if you retire early, miss. I’m sorry if our hotel couldn’t give you the juicy gossip you were hoping for,” and stormed off.
She was absolutely fuming. She stalked back to her room, passing the front desk where Nick had been about to greet her until he’d realized he wasn’t getting a response from her. She slammed the door behind her, took out her pen and notebook and wrote down the truth about what kind of an arrogant, narcissistic ass Alexander Turner really turned out to be.

Sneaky - Brendon Urie x Reader
Request: Hey I know it’s a sensitive topic but I was wondering if you’d write something with Brendon Urie where he notices the reader is t really eating and he just tries really hard to be there for her and gets her to eat without really bringing it up. Because everybody relapses sometimes and I think it’d be much easier to get through with someone like him around to help out.
Warnings: eating disorder, alcohol
Word count: 3 109
A/N: Apart from my (luckily only) short trip into eating disorders, I don’t know very much about it. If anyone feels like I made some mistakes, or glorify it in any way, it would be great if you message me so I can change things.
You stood in front of your fridge and scanned the opportunities you had for breakfast. Yoghurt, maybe with some muesli, or rather some fruit? How about cornflakes with milk? Or toast with strawberry jam?
You thought about each option shortly before closing the door to the fridge again, feeling sick. The mere thought of each of the foods made you feel uncomfortable, and a bad taste started to spread in your mouth, down your throat. Maybe you would have lunch later.
Your good resolution of going for lunch was killed by the unattractive menu of the Mensa, and dinner fell victim to the thought that you were not hungry. Your stomach was of a different opinion, but you ignored the grumbling and instead continued working, while the nagging voice in the back of your head started reminding you that your eating-behavior over the day was anything but health.
Much too his concern Brendon soon noticed you skipping out on lunch, and more and more often also on the weekly visit to the pub that your group of friends did every Friday night. What definitely did not sooth his worries either was the weight loss which it did not take him long to notice. And so he started to investigate as carefully as possible. He asked you what you usually ate for breakfast, claiming he was looking for a change in his usual routine and needed some inspiration. Your stuttered answer immediately gave away that you were lying when you told him you ate yoghurt and muesli.
Slowly he started to realize that you really barely ate anything, and that was when he decided that he had to act. His concern for you did not come out of the blue, since he knew you had had troubles with eating disorders before, and that he was totally and head over heels in love with you only encouraged him to make sure you would look after yourself better.
“Cookie?”
You looked up from the monitor on which you were proof reading a letter, and were met with the big, brown eyes of Brendon who held a tin box with deliciously smelling chocolate cookies.
“Ahm,” you hesitated, your fingers still resting on the keys which you had used to scroll down the page.
“They’re really good,” Brendon insisted, shoving the box further towards you.
The part of your mind that constantly kept you from eating, started reminding you of how much fat and sugar and other unhealthy ingredients were in the baked goods, but the tiny voice in the back of your head, the one that still screamed and protested each time you skipped a meal, started slobbering.
“I’m fine, thanks,” you smiled, hoping Brendon would accept your refusal, and leave before you got weak.
“You sure? They’re still warm,” he tempted, and took one of the cookies from the box, biting into it. A few crumbs fell off the cookie and to the dark carpet that was fitted into the office room.
Before you could even think about it, the tiny voice and its slobbering had taken over.
“Okay, fine. Thank you,” you smiled and reached into the box for a cookie.
“Take a few more, I’ve got enough,” Brendon encouraged.
Hesitantly you took a second, and when Brendon just looked at you expectantly, and pushed the box even closer to your keyboard, you took a third cookie.
“I’m gonna leave this here, so just take one whenever you want.”
You nodded and watched as Brendon put the box between the computer monitors that stood back to back on the same desk, before he wandered around it and took seat behind his computer again; sending you a dazzling smile as you quickly glanced over at him.
A part of you hated to admit it, but the cookies were heavenly delicious. They were sweet, but not too sweet, crunchy, and still a little chewy and just the perfect amount of chocolaty. Amused Brendon watched how time after time your hand reached into the box, and took out another cookie. He had no idea if or how much you had eaten anything else today, but at least you had eaten a dozen cookies.
Brendon had hundreds of ideas how to get you to eat something, but while about half of them included him asking you out, he also had to remind himself to do things slowly. He did not want you to realize that he was trying to make you eat, in fear that you would shut him out completely after that. So he waited until the next week before he brought something to eat into the office again.
The smell of warm pretzels filled your nose as Brendon pulled out a bag from the bakery down the street. He noticed your glance at the paper bag he was holding (as if he had waited for it) and raised his eyebrows.
“Butter pretzel?”
You pressed your lips together, as every time you were faced with the opportunity of food, but once again the tiny, hungry voice in the back of your head took over, and you nodded. Brendon grinned to himself, making sure to hide that behind his monitor though, as he watched you munch on the buttered lye pastry.
The week after that he brought homemade fruit salad, the week after that little sandwiches, and then hummus with pita bread, pasta salad, crackers with cedar, and bagles with cream cheese. Every time he was afraid you would refuse, but somehow, you always agreed to take some of his food, even when you joked you would have to start paying him.
“Hey, ahm (y/n)…”
You looked up at Brendon who was standing by your table, his jacket thrown over his shoulder.
“Would you… I mean, would you like to go to lunch with me,” he asked.
You felt your cheeks redden at the question, and your heart started beating faster.
“I- sorry Brendon, I got an appointment in ten minutes. I- would it be okay if we went for dinner instead?”
Brendon stared at you, not properly understanding what you were talking about.
“I really- it’s not like I don’t want to go to lunch with you,” you continued, “I just can’t cancel on this customer…”
Brendon nodded, slowly beginning to understand. He had only asked if you wanted to go to lunch with him because all the other colleagues you usually went to lunch with were on seminar, but you seemed to have understood his question as an invitation to a date, which honestly he could not take any offense at, considering how much he had stuttered. Also you understanding this as him asking you out, had spared him the trouble of having to worry about it, and you even said yes. To dinner even!
“It’s fine, I totally understand,” Brendon nodded, suddenly feeling nervous. Him not having to worry about asking you out also meant he had not made any plans for how to do it, or what to suggest for going out. “If you like we could go to that little Indian place down by the park.”
You nodded, smiling brightly. “That sounds fantastic, how about eight?”
“Perfect, eight it is.”
Brendon turned around and walked away, unable to keep his wide grin under control. He had accidently asked you out, and you had said yes. He was actually going to go on a date with you.
You watched Brendon walk away, before you turned back to your work, replaying the conversation in your head. Suddenly you froze. Brendon had not asked you out, he had just wanted to go for lunch, nothing more. Shit. Just because you were falling for your caring coworker more and more every day, you had totally misinterpreted his question. You wanted to crawl under a stone, and hide from the world and especially Brendon. But then again he had not disagreed on the dinner suggestion, so that had to mean something right? If only you had not embarrassed yourself in front of him like that…
~*~
Brendon only realized how bold he had been to invite someone who was … picky… with food anyway to a place where it was expected to consume food when he was sitting at the tiny table at the restaurant, waiting for you. He was already starting to worry you might not come, even though it was ten to eight, and at the same time his hands were sweaty. The waiter smiled at him encouragingly, and ensured him you would come when Brendon nervously told the young man that he was waiting for his date. Brendon nodded with a dry throat, and had just turned to check the clock again as you stepped through the door. His breath hitched as he saw you, and he was absolutely certain you had never looked more beautiful than the moment you spotted him across the room and smiled at him.
Brendon had been prepared for almost anything. He had been prepared for you not wanting to eat or drink anything or only little, he had been prepared for you going to the bathroom soon after you had finished eating, where you might get rid of the freshly consumed dinner, he had been prepared for you being awkward around him or even you getting angry at something he might say, but none of this happened. He could not say that he was disappointed, far from it actually, that the evening was playing out like a cliché romance novel. Together you chatted lightly while you enjoyed soup as a starter, you talked and laughed about childhood memories during the delicious main dish, and debated scores of old movies over a sweet desert, which you were sharing. There were no suspicious toilet breaks, no mention of your usually strange eating habits, and no awkwardness at all. Brendon was more than happy at that, and so were you. You were thankful that he did not mention anything, even though you had the strong feeling the only reason he had provided you with occasional food over the last weeks was because he had noticed your eating problems.
“So… wanna do this again some time?”
Brendon and you were standing in front of the little restaurant you had just left. You had your hands in your coat pocket to keep them protected from the cold winter air.
“I’d love to,” you smiled and watched how Brendon’s expression relaxed at your answer.
“Great, amazing, I mean- how about Saturday?”
~*~
It got your new habit, going out with Brendon every Wednesday and Saturday evening. Sometimes you went to little restaurants all over town, to bars or exotic street food shops, and every time you noticed how much easier it was to eat when Brendon was around and distracted you.
“I thought you could come over to my place tomorrow,” he suggested, leaning against your desk while you swiveled around in your office chair.
You stopped the swiveling and looked up at him. You had never been at his place, nor had he been at yours and it seemed like a big step to actually get to see how he lived.
“Sure, why not,” you answered, pretending to be far less nervous about his invitation that you actually were.
“I thought I could cook for us, make something special,” Brendon explained, hooking his foot under one of the rolls of your chair and pulling it closer.
“In other words, you’re trying to poison me,” you joked.
“Hey, I can cook,” Brendon complained, but he laughed at the same time.
~*~
Brendon had spent the whole Saturday preparing for your date that evening. The flat he lived in was perfectly cleaned, a vase with flowers placed as a centerpiece on the dining table and now a Frank Sinatra vinyl was quietly playing in the background. He quickly checked everything over, making sure he had forgotten nothing. The vegetables and fruit that were resting on the kitchen counter, waiting to be made into a complicated meal, had been bought on the farmers market just this morning, and so had been the dairy products and the herbs. Every surface had been dusted, the floor vacuumed and Brendon himself had showered, shaved and put on his favorite elegant, but homey clothes.
It was exactly eight o’clock when the doorbell rang. You had been a little early, but waited in front of the house until it was eight, not wanting to be early in case Brendon was not ready yet. You were a little surprised at the simple elegance of his flat, having expected a little bit more of a mess, considering the state of his desk at the office. He helped you take off your coat, and led you into the kitchen where you presented the bottle of wine to him that you had brought as a gift. He grinned and fetched two glasses, which he filled with the red liquid. You clinked glasses, and he started cooking. You offered to help, but he insisted you should sit on the counter, and let him do the work.
You were not really complaining. In fact, sitting on the kitchen counter, sipping wine and watching Brendon cook was something you could definitely get used to. You examined each and every movement Brendon did closely, secretly marveling at the way his muscles worked under his shirt, the way his eyes glimmered in concentration, or how his hair sometimes dangled into his eyes.
You did not talk much while Brendon was busy cooking. For one you did not want to distract him from the work he was so obviously concentrated on, but you were also glad that you got to watch him in peace. When he had asked you out the first time, or rather you him, you had not been sure if what you were feeling for him was really enough to base a relationship on, but lately you found yourself thinking of him more and more often. Maybe it was the way he always cared for you, always checked if you were fine, if you needed something. Maybe it was the way he respected your privacy and the fact that there were topics you felt not comfortable talking about.
It did not take Brendon long to conjure an amazing meal, and while he finished seasoning the fried vegetables, you chose another vinyl to listen to, after the Frank Sinatra one had ended playing.
The table was kept simple but appealing. The long-stemmed vase in which Brendon had put a simple arrangement of purple Gerberas bedded in white Baby’s-Breath was made of milky white glass and matching purple candles were held in clear, cylindrical glasses. Brendon had turned down the light over the table slightly to make the atmosphere a little cozier. At the same time the flames of the candles got better visible, and all of a sudden you felt like this was an actually serious date, which made you all jittery again.
When Brendon had said he knew how to cook, he had definitely not lied. The food was delicious, probably among the best things you had ever eaten, and you made sure to let him know that. He grinned wider with each compliment, and you almost felt challenged to get him to grin even more. You would never get enough of this sunshine grin.
You had finished your second plate of the main dish, and Brendon once again asked if you wanted another helping.
“Are you trying to stuff me,” you asked jokingly, carefully dipping your mouth off with a serviette.
When Brendon did not immediately answer, you looked over to him, noticing his guilty expression.
His eyes met yours for a moment before he turned away, head hanging low, biting his lip nervously.
“I didn’t mean to-“
“I know it’s none of my business,” he interrupted you. “but I noticed how you lost weight and how you never ate anything, and… I was so worried and I know I’m overstepping my boundaries, did from the beginning on, but I just didn’t want you to… get sick, like so seriously. I just tried to look after you, which is creepy and weird considering we didn’t really know each other, but I… I just care so much about you- “
You quietly got up from your chair and walked over to Brendon’s side of the table. He looked up at you, his face full of concern and fear of rejection.
“It’s okay,” you told him, gently taking his face in your hands. “It’s okay, Brendon, don’t worry, I’m not mad at you. Actually… I wanted to thank you. For helping me, looking out for me, and not making it a big thing.”
Brendon swallowed hard and blinked rapidly a few times. You knelt down in front of his chair, now the one to look up at him and continued.
“I’ve had problems before, and everyone relapses sometimes. It’s a thing that happens, but it’s not the end of the world, not if there is someone around who notices and is willing to help. And you were around, and you did help. God, I don’t know where I’d be without you right now, but definitely not in such a good place.”
Brendon nodded and subconsciously reached to brush a strand out of your forehead. You smiled at that gesture, and gave him a moment to collect his thoughts.
“You’re not mad that I meddled in your life?”
“On the contrary, I’m actually really happy you did,” you smiled.
Brendon was still staring down at you, his thoughts running a thousand miles an hour, while your mind was suddenly blank, and your body moved on its own as you leant up, and pressed your lips against his.
Surprised Brendon pulled in air before he relaxed into the touch, and wrapped an arm around your neck, holding you close. When you felt him smile into the kiss, you smiled as well, and pulled away to look at him. The worried expression had given way to a, once again, bright grin.
“Well, so am I,” he confessed, making you laugh lightly before you kissed him again quickly.
“I saw that there is desert in the fridge,” you hinted, remembering the enticing looking panacotta Brendon had made.
“Indeed there is,” Brendon chuckled and got up, pulling you to your feet as well, “Are you implying you want something of it?”
“Maybe,” you admitted with a sly smile.
“Hm, let’s see what we can do there,” Brendon laughed and walked back into the kitchen, holding your hand, “but maybe you’ll also have to bribe me with some more of your kisses first.”

Hey!! I am in a mood and I would like to ask for some cuddle piles with the rottmnt boys. Ooh maybe like a hurt comfort thing cause one of them got injured or something in one of their fights (love those boys and they're trying their best but they aren't the best fighters out there), and like after they get home and their like bandaged up they end up piling on them (bonus points if you squeeze in some good dad splinter). thanks!!!!
i love hurt/comfort, but i think this ended up a little more fluffy than intended. enjoy anyway, and everyone please remember urban exploration is more dangerous than you’d think it is (even in our universe, lmao).
thanks for the great prompt!
“A twisted ankle, a buttful of quills, and a goose egg to the head are an impressive collection ofinjuries, bro,” Leo says to Raph. He shakes his head. “I don’t know how youmanaged those all at onc- JESUSFFFUCKIN-!Donnie! What the fuck, I wasn’t ready!”
“Sorry, thought you were,” Donnie says in monotone, absolutely unapologetic with hisapology. He drops the quill he’s just yanked out of Leo’s scales into bowlbeside them on the floor. “There. You’re all done, no more whining. Raph, holdstill. It’s your turn.”
Raph whimpers into the pillow he’s face down on. Leo rubshis own injuries sympathetically, glancing at the dozens of quills stuck in Raph’sbackside and thighs. At least Leo got out of things with just eight quillsstabbed into him; Raph went and saton the pissed off mutant porcupine. It happened something like Raph’s footgoing through a rickety floorboard, his ankle twisting in a way it shouldn’t,him falling backwards onto the tenant of the thought-to-be abandoned building, resultingin a panic/pain induced sprint right into an exposed ceiling pipe.
Sometimes, Raph is a relatively decent ninja. And sometimeshe does things like that. They’re all still in need of further training fromtheir father.
“Dude, stop smearing the blood around,” Mikey scolds Leo. Hepulls Leo’s hand away from his forearm, taking a disinfectant cloth to thebleeding divots. After they’re all clean, he delicately tapes a band-aid overeach tiny, if profusely sore wound.
Leo brings his arms close to his face, turning them toexamine each band-aid. Anakin Skywalker, Ashoka Tano, and Obi-Wan Kenobi stareback at him. “The Clone Wars, nice.”
“I’ve been waiting for a reason to break these bad boys out,”Mikey says, holding up the battered cardboard box proudly. He’s only got threeband-aids on his person, since he’d been smart enough to start hightailing itbefore the rest of them finished processing the angry cursing being shouted atthem.
“We should visit that drugstore dumpster again, they hadsome good stuff,” Leo agrees. He starts to stand and winces as Raph makes amuffled scream of pain into his pillow. Donnie and his pliers- the mostmerciless combination possible. “I’m… gonna go grab some tea and painkillers. And ice, for Raph. Anyone got requests for flavors?”
“Orange pekoe!” Mikey says.
“Sugarplum spice,” Donnie says.
“—-!!” is Raph’sanswer, which is a high pitched scream akin to a dog whistle.
“I’ll get you sleepy time tea, Raph,” Leo says, grimacing atRaph’s ongoing treatment. “Also- Donnie, you drinking Christmas tea in themiddle of the year is just plain wrong feeling.”
“A mutant wants what he wants,” Donnie says with a shrug, and yanks another quill out of Raph’s leg. “Oh quit screaming so much, Raph. It’llbe over before you know it.”
“You’re- evil!”
“I resent that remark. I’m chaotic neutral at most.”
“Nah, you’re at least neutral evil right now, Dee,” Mikey says.Donnie’s goggles on his face gleam eerily as he turns a flat look on theiryoungest sibling, which doesn’t help his case. That, and he pulls yet anotherquill out of Raph without even looking.
Leo gladly escapes the scream filled atrium, scurrying offto the kitchen for their tea. The medicine basket is on top of the fridge, too, filled with general medications and vitamins. Leo digs through the pill bottlesand little cardboard boxes while the electric kettle heats up. The extrastrength Tylenol and ibuprofen should be good, right? They’ll need a coupleeach, since their systems eat up calories and medications like the breeze.
Pouring the boiled water into four individual mugs- one ofthem a soup mug with two tea bags for Raph, since he needs bigger portions thanthe rest of them- Leo puts them all onto the beaten up plastic platter he digsout from the back of the floor cupboards. He piles on the pill bottles, too, and turns to leave. A figure is directly in his path and Leo shrieksand leaps away.
Splinter catches the platter without even blinking- not adrop spilled from the sloshing mugs as he balances it on his coiled tail. Leo’sfather looks up at him, squinting.
“I see your reflexes are improving, blue,” Splinter says tohim.
“Hi, pops,” Leo says, a little breathless.
“Hm, yes, hello. Are you going to keep your injured brotherswaiting? Get off the fridge already.”
Leo grumbles as he hops off the top of the fridge; which is wherehe’d been tensely perched, hand halfway to drawing a sword he’s not carryingright now. “You did that on purpose,” he complains to his sneaky ninja master father.
“I do not know what you are talking about,” Splinter says witha perfectly straight face, though his whiskers are twitching with silent humor. He lifts his tail, boosting the platter up to Leo to take again. “Get me a mugbefore you go, I want the nice grey one for my tea- which, you did not remember to pour me some of.”
“Sorry,” Leo says honestly, opening the top cupboards againand standing on tiptoe to get the requested mug. He doesn’t mind doing so, andhe really needs to remind Raph to stop putting the dishes away like this. Theirfather can’t reach the same shelves as the tallest member of their family.
“Ah, I do not really mind,” Splinter says, taking the mug. “Ijust hate getting the stool to do this myself.”
“Yeah, no, I get that. Jasmine, or…?”
“Jasmine, yes.”
Leo hands his father the box of tea, still balancing theplatter in his other hand. “Can you bring the ice in? I just realized I almost forgotit.”
Splinter shoos him away wordlessly, agreeing. Leo leavesbefore his father changes his mind and makes carrying everything at once into a balancingexercise.
“Okay, pekoe- sugarplum- and sleepy time,” Leo says as hehands out the drinks, setting Raph’s a bit away from him in case he startsthrashing. Donnie puts his aside for when he’s done tending to Raph, while Mikeytakes a happy gulp from his mug. Leo sits down and passes around somepainkillers, too; knocking back a few with a drink from his true blueberry tea.
Splinter arrives towards the end of Raph’s treatment, bringing with him bags of ice and a towel to wrap around them. So it’s notunbearably cold against Raph’s scales, since they get chilled easily. By thatpoint, Raph has mostly stopped screaming, but remains face down on his pillow. Mikeyand Leo are leaning against his side, offering comfort as Donnie steadilyworks.
Leo reaches over and massages Raph’s neck as their fatherlifts the twisted ankle up from its elevating pillow. His brother makes aseries of miserable sounds as his ankle is iced.
“Almost done, Raph, I promise,” Donnie says, and since he’sadded real emotion behind those words, it means he’s slipping out of the zoneand coming back to proper reality. It’s not that their brother is heartless; it’sthat Donnie shuts down emotions when he’s stressed out. Pulling porcupinequills out of your big brother will do that to anyone.
Splinter comes around to sit next to Raph’s head, undoinghis son’s mask and placing ice to the large bump on Raph’s forehead.  “I could give you acupuncture,” Splinteroffers as Raph takes the ice and puts it between him and his pillow. “It willease the pain of you ankle.”
“No, no more needles,”Raph mumbles mournfully into the soon to be damp pillow. Leo pats his brother’sshell while Mikey coos sympathetically. Splinter shrugs, nonplussed, and sipshis tea. His tail curls around Raph’s elbow without a word; a familiar and oldsort of comfort they’ve been given since childhood.
Their father isn’t big on expressions of affection- Donnie issimilar in that, like Mikey is similar to their father in that he sneaks up on people without warning andscares them, little shit he is. But, when they really need their pops, like right now- Splinteris there.
Raph removes his hand from his folded arms and grips theirfather’s tail. Splinter winds the tip around Raph’s knuckles, holding tight as Donniepulls out the needles.
Soon enough, Donnie sits back from his task. “Aaaand done,we’re done. Good job, Raph. Thanks for not kicking me across the room like thattime with the cactus,” Donnie says, stepping away with a full bowl of porcupineneedles and his thoroughly used pliers. Mikey takes his cue to swap positionsand clean up the wounds; letting Donnie take his place against Raph’s side.
Donnie drains his mug of lukewarm tea in one long gulp, and thenslumps bonelessly. Leo belatedly offers a bottle of Tylenol to his brother, seeing as Donnie hasn’t stopped to take care of himself beyond yanking his ownquills out and slapping band-aids on the wounds. Leo had yelped and felt hisstomach do swoops, seeing his brother expressionlessly pull the needles out hisown scales. Donnie’s shell is possibly the onlything that’s soft about him; besides that he can’t resist a sob story, or Leo andMikey’s combined begging eyes.
“I ran out of Star Wars band-aids, so you got a coupleFinding Nemo ones, Raphie,” Mikey says when he’s done his job.
“Mgh,” Raph says miserably, unconcerned by the mixed mediabandages. Mikey clambers up onto their biggest brother’s shell, patting itgently.
“You’ll heal up in no time, bro,” Mikey says kindly, sprawling the way he tends to on top of Raph. Somehow, in a way that eludes Leoto this day, he can do it without scratching himself on the sharp spines oftheir sibling.
Raph replies with another,“Mgh.”
“You feel like moving to your bed yet?” Leo asks.
“No,” is Raph’sempathetic answer. Which is fair. If Leohad sat on the porcupine mutant, he probably wouldn’t want to move aroundeither.
“Guess we’ll all lie really still here for a while,” Donnie saystonelessly, not seeming all that upset about that. He’s practically a meltedpuddle of turtle, looking exhausted from treating them all.
Leo glances over at their father, who is still acting as Raph’ssecurity blanket and doesn’t show any inclination about leaving. Leo shrugs, and leans back again to join the cuddle pile on the concrete of their atrium skatepark. If you can’t beat ‘em, or something.
Not the best evening ever, but it definitely could haveended a lot worse than them curled up together like this.

hi again it’s me! so i was wondering if you could please do a fanfic on a modern au where firefighter!peter quill gets some burn marks on his chest and his stomach and almost all over his body, and the reader is a beautiful (yet very sexy) nurse, who heals peter up, and falls in love with him?
Heckie yes!
Tumblr media
Stay with me. Stay with me.
That was the first thing Peter heard that voice say. He could hear the desperation in her voice, maybe it’s what set her words apart from the others. The raw emotion.
This was an off day for Peter, 10 years as a firefighter you think he’d be prepared for just about anything. And yet here he was, blinking in and out of consciousness in the hospital.
How did he know it was a hospital? For starters those ugly fluorescent lights. He saw them in his nightmares, when he’d dream of his mother. The blinding white walls were another tip. Lastly were the dozens of voices surrounding him, making him feel claustrophobic.
He was caged like an animal, a wounded animal. Then he heard her voice again.
You need to steady your breathing. Breathe with me. In and out… Just like that.
The oxygen mask pressed to his face made him panic, just for a moment, then he focused on her voice once more.
In and out… Shhhh…
The burning on his chest ripped him out of his haze, thrusting him back into the real world. He screamed into the oxygen mask, the ringing in his ears drowning out her voice.
His eyes, wild and panic stricken, bounced around the room, looking at the people and the machines surrounding him. He just barely made out someone shouting about morphine.
Movement at the corner of his eye caught his attention. His head whipped in that direction as the stranger took a needle to his IV.
The woman standing over him set the empty needle aside and looked down at him. Her hair was pulled out of her face, there was sweat on her brow and heavy bags under her eyes.
She was the most beautiful thing he had ever scene.
Another blast of pain had him surging forward. She pressed her hands to his shoulders and forced him to lay back with all her might.
Peter swore those ugly as fuck fluorescent lights formed a halo around her head, maybe it was the morphine.
You’ll be okay… You’re gonna be okay.
He breathed hard and watched her hover above him for a moment longer until his body began to relax. His eyes slowly fluttered shut and he drifted off into a long, dreamless sleep.
Why do breezes sigh every evening… whispering your name as they do…
And why have I the feeling, stars are on my ceiling… I know why and so do you…
It wasn’t the aches in his body or the natural sunlight streaming into his room that woke him up. It was that voice bringing him back to reality.
Peter slowly opened his eyes, wincing at just how bright the daylight was despite the rain clouds forming outside. He looked around the room, familiarizing himself with the space.
Even though he knew she would be there he still froze in place when he saw the woman from the night he was brought in.
She looked a lot more put together this time. She looked like she had gotten some rest since their last encounter. The woman was completely focused on her clipboard and her singing, she didn’t notice Peter was awake until he attempted to sit up in his bed.
“When you dance with me, I’m in heaven when the music- Oh my gosh. Don’t do that.” She set her clipboard on his bedside table and moved to his side as quick as a flash. She rested her hand on his shoulder and gently laid him back onto the bed.
“You need to take it slow,” she said, pulling the remote for the bed from its velcro strap on the wall and showing it to him. “This button will help you sit up… You have severe burns on your torso. You can’t put strain on yourself.”
Peter pressed onto the small arrow button, wincing as the bed began to adjust to his control. Before he could even thank her she left the room, mumbling something about getting him some food.
He sat there for a couple minutes, blankly staring at the tv mounted on the wall. It was playing one of those cook off shows. He usually hated them, but he assumed the nurse had put it on and decided to sit through the yelling and the over the top panic.
She stepped back into the room, setting a tray of food down on the table above his lap.
“I read on your medical records you have no food allergies, so this should be fine… unless you’re on one of those weird gluten free diets…” she trailed off, moving the tray closer to him.
Peter chuckled softly, wincing when he felt his chest ache from the quick movement. He took a sip of the ice water she brought him and sighed happily.
He looked up at her, not really knowing what to say as she began unboxing his meal. Of course his mouth always ran a mile a minute out of his control.
“I’m not like… Like all Freddy Krueger-y am I…?” he asked, motioning to his face.
I’m a fucking idiot.
The nurse laughed and glanced at him, giving him a onceover as she shook her head. “Never heard that term for severe 3rd degree burns before… but no, you’re not all Freddy Krueger-y. Your chest is a little worse for wear… but with some time and a lot of pain meds and aloe vera it’ll be fine.”
She retrieved her clipboard from the other side of his bed and pointed at one of the many buttons on the bed’s remote. “My name’s (Y/n), if you need anything just press this button. I’ll be right back to check on you once you’re done eating.”
Peter looked her over as she left the room, smiling to himself once she was gone.
Once he was done ripping into his food he could feel himself beginning to doze off. He growled to himself and rubbed the sleep out of his eyes, hoping to keep himself awake until (Y/n) got back.
He hadn’t realized he dozed off until the sound of little white sneakers on the linoleum floors stirred him.
(Y/n) stood over him, getting the tray together as quietly as she could. She stopped once she realized her patient had woken up and gave him an apologetic smile. “I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to wake you up, Mr. Quill.”
“You don’t have to apologize… and you can call me Peter….” he said, feeling butterflies in his stomach when her smile brightened.
“Well, Peter, looks like that turkey has you ready for a nap.” she said, preoccupying herself with the messy tray he had left. “I’m a little surprised, not everyone finishes their food here. Can’t really blame them though, hospital food’s always a little rough.”
“Yeah… I used to visit my mom in the hospital a lot, so I pretty much lived off of it for a while.” he sighed, shifting under the covers only to wince and whine in pain from the burns on his chest.
(Y/n) quickly moved the table aside and stood over him, gently moving his hands away as he clutched his chest.
“Here, let me go ahead and change out these bandages…” she plucked a new roll of bandages from the cabinet on the other side of the room and returned to him. She carefully helped him sit up straight and untied the front of his hospital gown.
Peter heard the heart monitor quickening and screamed at himself to calm the hell down and let the woman do her job. But damn, the way her fingers brushed over his skin as she took off his bandages had him fighting back the burning in his cheeks.
The sight of the burns on his chest were enough to knock his head out of the clouds and send him back to reality. (Y/n) held up a small tube of ointment, warning him that it would probably sting.
After getting a dollop on her fingertips she began gingerly massaging the medicine onto his burns. Sure enough Peter grunted in pain and held his bottom lip between his teeth, squeezing his eyes shut while (Y/n) worked.
“It’s best to let it all out… How about you keep talking, that’ll take your mind off it.” she suggested.
Peter nodded, racking his brain for something, anything to talk about.
“W-Whenever I got sick of the hospital food… m-my grama would being me something…” he said through his gritted teeth, continuing their conversation from earlier. “I think my fav-fuck… my favorite were these grilled cheeses she’d make… she’d always bring em by wrapped in foil… with some tomato soup in tupperware…”
(Y/n) wiped what was left of the ointment onto a tissue and began wrapping Peter’s chest, giving him a small smile. “Sounds like someone’s getting hungry again.”
Peter couldn’t help but chuckle as he breathed through the fading pain. He breathed a sigh of relief once she finished and laid back into the bed.
“Those should heal up in the next week… Hopefully applying that ointment won’t be as painful, it only gets easier from here.” (Y/n) said, her fingers working on retying his hospital gown.
“I’m kind of a baby when it comes to pain, sorry if I’m a little difficult.”
“No, no, it’s alright.” She assured him, gently rubbing his shoulder. “Don’t be afraid to let me know if you’re in any pain. I’m here to take care of you.”
The corners of Peter’s lips quirked up into a small smile and he gave her a slight nod. He sighed happily and laid his head back, relaxing into the bed once she left the room.
The rest of the week was basically the same routine; Peter would wake up, (Y/n) would bring him his meals, change his bandages, then he’d go to sleep. But in between all that Peter tried his best to make small talk with her, get to know her more.
He dropped that sneaky “Oh your boyfriend must be so proud” line the third day in. He almost jumped out of bed when she corrected him, saying she wasn’t dating anyone.
With the burns on his chest already healing he knew he’d be out of the hospital soon. He wasn’t too distraught, he could try to get (Y/n)’s number. Hell, screw “try” he was gonna do it.
His last afternoon in the hospital finally rolled around. His check out was scheduled for 3, it was currently 11.
She’s gonna bring me my lunch, Im gonna ask her for her number, it’ll be fine…
The door to his room opening put the biggest smile on his face, but it dropped once he saw a different nurse walk into the room with his tray of food.
“Good morning, Mr. Quill. How are we feeling today?”
“I… I’m good, is (Y/n) not here today?” Peter asked, looking behind the nurse to see if (Y/n) had trailed in after her.
The nurse frowned and shook her head. “No, I’m afraid she caught the flu from one of her other patients. She won’t be coming in today.”
Peter felt his heart drop out of his chest and into his stomach, along with all hope of ever going on a date with (Y/n).
“But,” she continued, setting the tray down on his table. “She did bring this by a little earlier… I’ll be right back to check on you when you’re done.” She smiled, turning and leaving the room.
Peter eagerly sat up and pulled the table closer, unboxing the food. He smiled wide, realizing what she had sent for him.
A grilled cheese wrapped in foil, and a glass pyrex bowl of tomato soup. A small, folded slip of paper sat between the two and he quickly unfolded it.
I’m willing to make a house call once I get over the flu. Call me.
Sure enough, the seven digits of her phone number along with a small heart sat under her message.

The Old Man and Cancer*
*To the Hemingway Estate - please don't sue me. Thank you.
So, as turns out cigarettes DO kill people...
Up until my dad died, my life had followed the "natural sequence" of the oldest in the family dying of old age before anyone else with one exception - my cousins lost their toddler to SIDS, but I was only 9 or 10 when that happened. I knew it was fucked up (because the adults all said so), but other than realizing that kids can die, it didn't affect me that much. Kids are selfish assholes, what can I say? Ok, maybe I was just a selfish asshole.
In 1998, my dad was 56 years old. About five to six days a week, he would go running and/or swimming and he had a pretty physically demanding job, so he was in decent shape.  His two biggest vices? Sugary desserts and smoking. I'm what the kids in Vegas call a "Cooler", so had I bet what would have done him in, I would have said diabetes. Exhibit A: he would take cake, shove it in a glass, fill it up with milk and call it "soup". And yet I was:
Tumblr media
It was the unfiltered Camels. Imagine that! Tobacco really does kill! In fairness, maybe Phillip Morris and RJ Reynolds don't even know that. I mean, have there even been actual studies done? No one knows.
"There's no link between diet and diabetes. It's a White myth. Like Larry Bird or Colorado." - Tracy Jordan, 30 Rock
Where was I? Oh, right, cancer. 18 months of treatments, being told he was fine, and then being told he wasn't, eventually being unable to work and then...death. That's the super abridged version. The point is this: for the first time, death punched me in the gut. I mean, like, wound up and with all his might punched me as hard as possible.
Guys? I cracked like a thin-shelled egg. I would say it took me a good ten years (not exaggerating) of therapy before I felt "normal" again. By that I mean, not living in constant fear that EVERY PERSON I KNEW was going to drop dead on me. Ten years.
I also gained a boatload of weight and jumped around from job to job before I woke up one day and decided that I had enough. I had to move forward.
My point, y'all is this: don't be so hard on yourself when you're grieving. And really, don't judge other people who are grieving. We all do it differently and there's no right or wrong way. There may be times you think you're doing so much better and then like the sneaky SOB that grief is, he sneaks back up on you for a quick visit. Maybe you're at the grocery store and you see a little girl with her dad clearly buying NOTHING on the list that the mom gave them and you lose your shit and cry. It's all cool. Cry it out. I mean it. Who loves ya, baby? Kojak. He loves you.
I'd probably like you if I knew you. Maybe.
Sorry - I'm being for real with you because I RESPECT YOU.
Next time we get together, I think we'll talk about hospitals, doctors, nurses, LPNs, social workers and all of the other fun stuff we deal with when a loved one has a terminal illness!

Roleplay Server Log #323
“In From the Cold, Toys for Pinwheel, Pinwheel vs Crim”
[Doc] Queues up the file and plugs in the drive before bursting into laughter-
[Deer] - Love?
[Doc] Just points at the drive while laughing. It looks like a little person doing a sit up, and now that it's plugged in it's hip-thrusting vigorously as if fucking the USB port while the file downloads into it. .
[Deer] - Oh dear...
[Yaunfen] Laughs at it- That's silly!
[Doc] I love it! Where did you get that? It's hilarious!
[Deer] - One of Notch's coworkers
[Doc] Pffft. It's great! - Xe checks the download and unplugs the drive before giving it to her. - One brine server save file. Just remind me to update it now and again.
[Deer] - Oh I won't forget- She kisses Doc's cheek
[Doc] Happy purrring- I missed you so much... I didn't sleep worth a damn either.... Especially when Yaunfen was hurting. We both missed you, and our home.
[Deer] - Then let's go take a nice long nap
[Doc] Shall we have a dragon nap since me and our little one have been staying compressed for space and humans not seeing us reasons.
[Deer] - Absolutely- She shifts to her other form
[Doc] Lets go out in the desert though, so there's no chance of getting rained on if we sleep a long time. Warm sand sounds nice.
[Deer] - Lead the way my love
[Doc] Flops out into hir larger form and looks down at Yaunfen with a smile- Your turn kiddo.
[Yaunfen] Grins and changes to their dragon shape, ready to go-
[Doc] Prances, and leads, happy as a lark-
[Deer] Humms happily as they walk-
[Yaunfen] Stumbles a little as they go-
[Doc] Falls back a little. - If you're super tired, you can ride on me. It's not far.
[Yaunfen] - Okay- As they climb onto Doc, they stumble again, their body suddenly stretching out even longer- Oof!
[Doc] Wobbles for a moment and then flumps onto the ground- Whoah!
[Deer] - Are you two okay?
[Yaunfen] Looks themselves over- I got bigger... Oh.. sorry mada...
[Doc] I'm fine!
[Yaunfen] But still! Wow! - They jump around a little in pure happiness and then let loose with the tiniest yawn.
[Doc] I still say we nap....
[Deer] Laughs a little- Indeed, let's go my lovely ones
[Yaunfen] Yes please. - Their whiskers are floating artfully around their face-
[Doc] Flumps onto the sand, utterly squished and exhausted-
[Deer] Curls up against them-
[Yaunfen] Picks up Doc's fluffy tail and moves it so it's curled and then snuggles against Deerheart with their face in the fluff. - Goodnight mama, goodnight mada. I love you.
[Doc] Little happy sniffle-
[Deer] - We love you too
[Lie] While CP's been gone, she's decided to do an overhaul on the chests in the house and reorganize them.  She's had to make several new chests and has been trying to distract herself from the feel of her red stone heart calling out for it's other half, not realizing that it's glow is visible-
[TLOT] Taps on her door with Steve in tow.
[Lie] Looks up and heads for the door RVulpix staying close on her heels.  She smiles a little as she see's her friends- Hey, decided to come over for a visit?
[Steve] We brought soup!
[TLOT] Yes and I think you could be in desperate need of other company as well...
[Lie] - Oh, thank you Steve, and what do you mean TLOT?
[TLOT] Points at her chest-
[Steve] Takes out several bowls of chowder and stows them in the nearest trunk.
[Lie] Looks down- Oh, that...  I mean, I felt the tug, didn't realize I was glowing...
[RVulpix] Sniffs at the trunk that Steve put the chowder in-
[TLOT] Takes her hand and pats it. - You're lonely. I can feel it so strongly.
[Lie] - Stevie needs CP more at this point, I can deal with it.  It's given me a chance to reorganize my trunks too
[TLOT] If you're missing him, I'm pretty sure he's aching for you.
[Steve] Alexis went to visit Stevie. You deserve the same at least.
[Lie] - I stopped by briefly a couple of times, but it's too cold over there for me
[TLOT] Then I'll go get him.
[Steve] I can help you tidy up!
[Lie] - TLOT that's not necessary
[TLOT] Psychic, remember?
[Lie] Huffs a little in annoyance-
[Steve] Smiles at her cute little pout.
[TLOT] I won't be long.
[Hope] Comes barreling into the room-
[Lie] - Alright, alright.  And some help would be appreciated Steve
[Steve] Tries to pet Hope.
[TLOT] Goes out- Play nice.
[Hope] Purrs intensly-
[Lie] Goes to the next trunk that needs to be done- I only have a couple of trunks left, that one over by the door still needs to be gone through
[Steve] Okay. - He squeaks it open- There's a lot of random stuff in here. I guess this one is the one by the front door where you empty your pockets when you come in?
[Lie] - Unfortunately, it's supposed to be a spare food trunk
[Steve] Doc's are way worse if it makes you feel any better. The ones in the kitchen are the only trunks in the castle with any consistency. - Is moving things around
[Hope] Finds a bit of spider string and starts playing with it-
[Lie] - Oh I know, I usually just let them look for things in their own trunks
[Steve] Hey, this is neat. I've never seen this before. - He pulls out a bottle of golden colored alcohol, The bottle itself is in the shape of a hugely pregnant woman with copious naked breasts.
[Lie] - Oh, that was a belated wedding present from Sam
[Steve] Well that was nice. Oh! I get it! It's a wedding present because she's pregnant right? Some kind of fertility thing?
[Lie] - I think so?  I'm not entirely positive.  We haven't tried it yet though...  Or rather, CP hasn't tried it yet
[Steve] But it was from Sam. I doubt xe'd give something super strong if it was for both of you.
[Lie] - Good point...
[RVulpix] Shies away from Hope's frantic playing-
[Steve] Sneaky face- We could have a teeny little taste... it's not like it has a complex seal or anything.
[Lie] - Steve!
[Steve] Innocent look- What? I'm just curious!
[Lie] Sighs- Oh alright...
[Steve] Wiggles the cork out with a little pop and sniffs it -
[Lie] Digs around for a couple of cups-
[Steve] Pours just a little in each and tries his - Oh that's not strong, it's kinda warm and spicy though. Herbal too.
[Lie] Tries a sip herself- Hmm, your right
[Steve] Little blush- Maybe I'll bug Sam for some for me and my lovey.
[Lie] - As a super belated wedding gift?
[Steve] Anniversary maybe? It's so easy to lose track of time. Us old fogeys get confused.
[TLOT] Mentally - I heard that.
[Lie] Laughs a little and drinks a bit more-
[Steve] Listens for a moment - They're heading back. We should finish up so they don't catch us slacking.
[Lie] - Right- She puts her cup down and grabs some things which need to go downstairs into the storage room
[Steve] bustles around helping her out.
[CP] His voice is the first thing to reach the house- This isn't necessary TLOT!
[TLOT] But it is kind and you need it.
[CP] - Fuck you!
[Stevie] - Brother calm down
[TLOT] She's so bored she's having an afternoon tipple with my husband. That should tell you something.
[CP] Growls-
[Steve] All done!
[TLOT] Opens the door-
[Lie] Thanks Steve- She smiles at her husband, the glow of his heart visible through the shirt
[TLOT] Gives Cp a gentle push towards her.
[Steve] Anytime!
[Lie] Takes her husbands hand and draws him closer, brushing against his mind in a grateful manner-
[CP] At his wife's touch does relax a little-
[Steve] At Stevie- So hows the ice stuff going?
[Stevie] - Weeeellll
[CP] - Still some problems
[TLOT] He'll figure it out. - chuckles- And if he doesn't... well I'll just have to take his eyes.  - He gives Stevie a playful poke and a smile to show he's kidding.
[Stevie] Still pales a little- I'd rather not get confused for my brother
[Steve] He's playing with you. You'll get it under control. I believe in you!
[Stevie] - Thanks
[Lie] Goes for her glass again-
[CP] What are you drinking?
[Lie] - Sam's wedding gift to us
[Steve] It's some kind of herbal liquior.
[CP] - Eh, booze is booze
[TLOT] Takes the cup from Steve and drinks the last tiny swallow. - That is unusual though, and I taste cinnamon.
[Lie] - Have some CP, we'll have a quiet night
[TLOT] We'll walk Stevie home, you two have fun.
[CP] - Just fuck off already
[Steve] Fucking off engaged.  - Heads out and pulls Stevie out as well.
[TLOT] Good night both of you. - Closes the door behind them.
[CP] Scowls at their retreating forms before focusing on his wife.  Lie smiles at him and pours both of them more of the alcohol, letting both of them drink-
[Lie] Brings both them and the bottle to their bedroom where they cuddle up on the bed, Lie is grateful for the returned warmth of her husband-
[CP] After a few hours he is barely buzzed, but Lie is most certainly drunk and giggling.  He's always amused seeing his wife like this as he runs his fingers through her hair.  Deciding to test his luck he begins nuzzling her and running his hands along her body.  He knows she feels warm and starts tugging at her clothes.  He's rewarded with a slight moan from her lips.  He shifts himself around, drawing her into a kiss as he presses her down onto the bed-
[Lie] - CP...
[CP] - Shhh, it's been a bit too long since we last had any fun
[Lie] Moans as CP's lips begin traveling along her body and his hands pull her clothes off.  Her own hands grip at his shirt, wanting it removed as well-
[CP] Pull back to remove his own clothes, he's eager to start as he dives back in, manipulating her most sensitive places and pressing his fingers inside of her- You're always so beautiful..
[Lie] - Please CP...  I want it...
[CP] - As you wish- He removes his fingers as lines himself up before pressing in and relishing his wife's gasp of pleasure.  The two are soon lost in a haze of pleasure as they participate in the loveliest of activities
[Yaunfen] Streches and gives a little yawn, xe opens hir eyes to find Doc watching them quietly. - Mada? Are you okay?
[Doc] Just thinking sweetheart. Are you still going to want to play with me?
[Yaunfen] Well yeah! - They start up a happy purr, wiggling a little against Deerheart.
[Doc] Good. Do you want to come with me to give little Pinwheel her gift?
[Yaunfen] Mada... does Pinwheel have toys?
[Doc] I'm not sure... Splender is used to entertaining kids so I'd hope so. But perhaps we should ask.
[Yaunfen] I want to give her some of mine.
[Doc] You're got good hearts kiddo.
[Yaunfen] Beams.
[Deer] Rolls over a little- Must you leave now?  Everything is so comfy...
[Doc] Haha, Aww. You are comfy as well. But aren't you getting hungry? I know I am.
[Deer] - Since I didn't know when you'd be coming home, I already ate
[Yaunfen] But mama we're gonna go do nice stuff!
[Deer] - And that's very nice of you and is something you should always strive to do...  But Mama feels like having a lazy day, I have been running around taking care of things while you were gone, had to help the male server out of a ravine too...
[Doc] A ravine? Dingus. Where is he now?
[Deer] Concentrates briefly and then sighs- Heading straight back towards that ravine...
[Doc] Oh for....
[Yaunfen] He's silly.
[Deer] - You two go do what you were gonna do, I'll go take care of him
[Doc] Are you sure you don't want to just leave him too it? He's on respawn.
[Deer] - No, he's seems to be really distracted lately
[Doc] Hopefully it's not hormonal...
[Yaunfen] Whats a hormone?
[Deer] - Stuff that helps Mada and Mama love each other
[Yaunfen] Oh! I bet I have lots of those, cause I love you both.
[Doc] Chuckles. - Well you are young and healthy..
[Deer] Nudges them- Go on, go give Pinwheel her toy
[Yaunfen] I'm gonna get more stuff! Meet me in the kitchen?
[Doc] Of course. I'm going to get a snack anyway. - starts to get up-
[Deer] - Be safe
[Doc] Happy sigh- We did good. - Xe busks on Deerheart a little. - Sorry to leave you running the show alone for so many days.
[Deer] - It's alright, but once you and Yaunfen are done, then I want some fun with you
[Doc] Swishes hir tail around a little happily- rowr! Yes mamn. - Xe hops up. - Till our paths cross again my sweet. - Xe snakes out hir tongue and gives Deerheart a tiny lick on the cheek-
[Deer] Humms happily and stands up so she can go round up the wild server-
[Doc] Slides down into the sand and coils up in the kitchen, shifting back to human. Xe putters around for a few mintues and eats a bit of beef and some carrots before Yaunfen comes rushing in.
[Yaunfen] I've got stuff in my inventory!
[Doc] Perfect. Lets go visiting.
-The two head upstairs and back outside, down the hill towards Splenders house-
[Splender] Is replacing some vines that Pinwheel had torn down-
[Yaunfen] In their humanish form- Splender!
[Doc] Hey Splender.
[Splender] - Oh hello!  It's a lovely day isn't it?
[Yaunfen] I got to go to an aquari- aquaram- a place with fish!
[Doc] smiles- Yaunfen got their irl legs.
[Splender] - Really?  You went to an aquarium too?  How exciting!
[Doc] We had a lot of fun. Ashe is real now too. Markus got to literally take the grandkids on an outing.
[Splender] - Awwwww!  How sweet!
[Yuanfen] And I have stuff for Pinwheel!
[Doc] We wanted to ask if she... has any toys... We came to give her some either way.
[Splender] - I keep trying to give her toys, but they end up torn apart
[Doc] Awww.... Have you asked her why?
[Splender] - She says for fun...
[Doc] I think she's bored. Can we talk to her?
[Splender] - Sure, if she hasn't snuck off to play with Crim that is
[Doc] Well at least she's made a friend on her own, that's something...
[Splender] Stands aside- Come on in and I'll see if she's in her room
[Yaunfen] Yeah! - rushes in- Your place is so neat!
[Doc] Follows at a more measured pace.
[Pinwheel] Is jumping on her bed-
[Splender] - Pinwheel?  You have some visitors
[Pinwheel] - No
[Yuanfen] Calls from down stairs-  Pinwheel!
[Pinwheel] - No!
[Splender] Sighs and picks Pinwheel up- Come now, that's not polite- He carries her downstairs
[Doc] Hi Pinwheel. How are you doing today?
[Pinwheel] - Is bored, couldn't find Crim
[Doc] Splender tells me you've been tearing up your toys. Do you want to talk about it?
[Pinwheel] - Is fun, like tearing up flying things
[Yaunfen] But you don't like having toys?
[Doc] Wait, what do you mean flying things?
[Splender] - I think she means the flitters
[Pinwheel] - Don't care
[Yaunfen] Looks sad - But I wanted to give you stuff. Make you happy...
[Doc] Well that's naughty.
[Pinwheel] Flicks tail in annoyance-
[Splender] - I'm sure she'll still enjoy the toy Yaunfen
[Yaunfen] Pulls out several things and holds them out hopefully - There's some hard resin dinosaurs, a soft [cloth] ball, a colorful stuffed bird, a toy teapot and two cups and a stuffed shark.
[Pinwheel] - No need
[Splender] - Pinwheel that's rude
[Yaunfen] sad little - oh.
[Doc] I brought you a plushie too, if that's more appealing. - Xe pulls the long snake out of hir inventory. It's head looks very much like Pinwheels.
[Pinwheel] Hisses at it before trying to lunge at it-
[Splender] - Pinwheel!
[Doc] Drops it in suprise. - It's just a toy!
[Pinwheel] Tears into it, using her tail to start ripping it up-
[Doc] Sheesh... Pinwheel chill out!
[Yuanfen] Leaps back as well and hides behind Doc. Some of the toys scatter on the floor-
[Splender] - I'm sorry, you know she's a bit...  Volatile...  But she's much calmer around Crim!
[Doc] Well it might be an instinct thing? Do vipers get along with other vipers? I have no idea.
[Splender] - I don't know!
[Pinwheel] There is now stuffing everywhere and she's fighting with a bit in her mouth-
[Doc] Pinwheel... I'm not mad but I am curious. Why did you do that?
[Pinwheel] - I dunno
[Yaunfen] Why are you so mean?
[Pinwheel] - I dunno
[Doc] Is there anything we can do to help?
[Pinwheel] - No need help, I is fine
[Yaunfen] But you're scary. Don't you want to have friends?
[Pinwheel] - I has Cri
[Doc] But we'd like to be your friends too. Do you not like us?
[Pinwheel] - I like Cri
[Splender] - Oh Pinwheel...
[Doc] It's not healthy to hang everything on one other person Pinwheel...
[Pinwheel] - Don't care
[Yaunfen] Little pout- Well you can have the toys anyway. And if you wanna be mean, that's you. I'm gonna be nice like mada taught me.
[Pinwheel] Sticks her tongue out at Yaunfen-
[Yaunfen] No! I'm nice! - Smiles at her anyway -
[Doc] pats them- It's okay Yaunfen.
[Splender] - Sorry about her attitude...
[Pinwheel] Huffs and goes back up to her room-
[Doc] It's not your fault Splender. Raising kids can be difficult.
[Yaunfen] Sniffles- Meanie.
[Splender] - And I apologize to you too Yaunfen, is there anything you want?  After all, what you did was very nice
[Yaunfen] Can I have a hug?
[Doc] Of course. - Holds them and motions for Splender-
[Splender] Scoops both of them up into a hug-
[Doc] Little eep. - Things will get better. It's like Cp and BEN, it just takes time.
[Yaunfen] But Pinwheel doesn't have a girlfriend?
[Doc] Yeah, that did make it easier...
[Splender] - We just have to wait and see what the future has in store
[Pinwheel] In a matter of a couple of hours she has managed to destroy just about every toy given to her, whether by fang or by her tail-
[Crim] - comes loping across the bridge near Splender & Pinwheel's house, heading toward the door -
[Splender] Spots Crim- Why hello there Crim!
[Crim] Hello Tall Happy! Is Pinwheel here?
[Splender] - Yes, she's upstairs in her room
[Crim] - nods and scuttles up the stairs - Pinwheels!
[Pinwheel] Her head pops up out of a huge pile of stuffing she's pulled out of the toys brought for her- Cri!
[Crim] - comes to sudden stop, staring at the mess - What happen?
[Pinwheel] - I got toys
[Crim] - comes in and nudges the stuffing - But.. They are all broke! Who broke?
[Pinwheel] - I did, is fun
[Crim] - frowns, using a middle paw poke some of the mess - Pinwheel... this not good.
[Pinwheel] Jumps around in stuffing- Why not? Is like cold fluffy stuff but no hurt
[Crim] - sits, holding something in his front paws - Where you gets toys from, Tall Happy?
[Pinwheel] - Sometimes, these come from candy one and their keeper
[Crim] Docs & Yaunfen? But they give gifts... And you break? - looks shocked and holds what he is holding to chest -
[Pinwheel] - Because that what fun... What Cri have?
[Crim] - looks at paws - Has pretty I found.
[Pinwheel] - A pretty?
[Crim] - nods and lowers paws, holding them toward her - I found while digging, it sparkly.
[Pinwheel] Looks at them curiously before trying to lick them-
[Crim] - slowly opens paws, reveling a large deep green gem. The edges of it catch what light is in the room, reflecting little green motes all around them -
[Pinwheel] Is transfixed by the green gem-
[Crim] - tips it and the motes dance around - See, sparkly.
[Pinwheel] Tries catching the bits of light while giggling-
[Crim] - slowly keeps tipping it, making all the lights dance - I... thought you might like.
[Pinwheel] - Is fun!
[Crim] Was going to see if Docs or someone could put on string, so you hang in rooms. Have dancing lights all the time.
[Pinwheel] - Yeah?
[Crim] - nods - But, must not breaks. You must promise.
[Pinwheel] Makes uncertain noise- But pulling stuff apart is fun...
[Crim] - frowns - Do you remember little flapping thing? What I tells you?
[Pinwheel] - Ummmm...
[Crim] - sighs - Friends give you things, to make you & them happy. If you break them, you make them sad, not happy. Not happy friends go away, leave all alone.
[Pinwheel] - But they not my friends, you are
[Crim] They are mine, I want them to be yours too. Even, if you no want. I do.
[Pinwheel] Grumbles-
[Crim] - looks sadly at the gem and drops it to the floor - Then, go ahead. Break it now.
[Pinwheel] Makes unsure noises-
[Crim] - doesn't say anything, just crosses his paws and waits -
[Pinwheel] Unsure noises intensify, she does like breaking stuff, but she knows it will hurt Crim if she does-
[Crim] - watches, the tip of his tail twitching in anxiety - Well? Do you breaks or keeps?
[Pinwheel] Flops over- I don't knows!
[Crim] - looks down at her - Yes, you do. You just not want to.
[Pinwheel] - No I don'ts!
[Crim] - snorts, getting up. He turns away, heading toward the door - Fine. When you do, then come talks to Crim.
[Pinwheel] A bit surprised and quietly- Cri...
[Crim] - ignores and scurries down the stairs, trying not to sniffle -
[Splender] - Crim? Is everything alright?
[Crim] - sniffling hard - Not knows, but no worries. Bye Tall Happy. - dashes toward the door -
[Splender] - Crim!- He can taste the sadness coming from Crim and the confused emotions coming from Pinwheel upstairs and he's worried about what's going on
[Crim] - once outside he looks toward the castle, rubbing his face, still sniffling. He snorts, turning around and heading back toward the long bridge he came from -
[Pinwheel] Once Crim is gone she starts feeling bad. She gathers the stuffing she's pulled out and uses it to block off under her bed before crawling under there herself and hiding herself away, the gem left right where Crim had put it-
[Alan] -Wandering around with their ring of materials in their mouth. They're poking things at random and scooting back if the texture is undesirable-
[Endrea] Is taking a break from the children and happens to spot him- Alan?
[Alan] -Looks up and chirps before scampering to Endrea- Ndd!
[Endrea] Laughs a little- I can't understand you with that ring in your mouth little one
[Alan] -Shifts weight to sit on their haunches and pop the ring out to their paws- Hi Endrea!
[Endrea] - Hello, are we having a fun day?
[Alan] Nope! Not fun... Nice? Not fun. -rests a paw on Endrea-
[Endrea] - Why isn't it fun?
[Alan] All confusing, confusing not fun. But can talk and walk today so it's nice. Looking around.
[Endrea] - I see, is there anything in particular you are confused about?
[Alan] -Flips materials on ring around a bit- All different feelings. Too much. Why different?
[Endrea] - Well it helps make things unique.  Plus different things come from other things.  Those really fuzzy swatches?  Those come from sheep
[Alan] -Rubs the swatches and nods a bit- Sheep? Don't like the soft much, different, hard is better. -Swaps the swatches around to one of the rock swatches-
[Endrea] - Well those particular ones are from rocks, and they are part of what makes up a majority of the world
[Alan] Feels better. -Scoots closer to Endrea and plunks, only to yelp as they hit their own growth spurt- Am bigger now!
[Endrea] - Yes you are!  Congratulations!
[Alan] -Sits up to look at themself, they have buds of another set of horns under their first, and they're longer.- I get even bigger soon?
[Endrea] - Quite possibly, should we go let your dad know?
[Alan] Ya! Dad will be happy! ... But can we sit for a bit longer? Is nice and calm here.
[Endrea] - Absolutely
[CN] Is just talking to Firebird about random things- And that's why the sun goes around us!
[Firebird] Oh really?  What if I told you we go around the sun?
[Alan] -Lays beside Endrea, touching different things on the ring-
[CN] - Prove it
[Firebird] Can't. Not right now, at least. -Vague hand wave- But it does, trust me.
[CN] Gives firebird a critical eye- I think your lying
[Firebird] Not like you can prove it either. -Smug grin-
[CN] - The earth isn't moving but the sun is!  It means the sun moves around us!
[Endrea] Is watching the NOTCH's with a bit of amusement-
[Firebird] How sure are you that the earth isn't moving? We're on it, CN. We're going at the same speed as it.
[Alan] -Bleps and rolls over-
[CN] Huffs and folds his arms- Because we'd feel it!
[Endrea] Nuzzles Alan's belly a little-
[Firebird] No we wouldn't!
[CN] - Uh huh!
[Alan] They're loud.
[Endrea] - They can be, but it's nothing harmful
[Alan] Annoys me. Ready to go now...
[Endrea] - Would you like me to carry you?
[Alan] Hmm.... Yeah. -Rolls to their paws-
[Endrea] Gets herself as low to the ground as possible-
[Alan] -Struggles a bit but manages to scramble up onto Endrea, they settle down once comfortable- Dad should still be sun bathing over by the bridge thing!
[Endrea] - Then we'll head that direction- She stands and begins walking
[Alan] -Looking around from Endrea's back as they walk-
[Alan] Thank you.
[Endrea] - You're very welcome
[Gambet] -Laying just at the start of the bridge, dozing softly-
[Endrea] Approaches cautiously- Gambet?
[Gambet] Hmmm? -Opens one eye to look at Endrea- ... Yessss?
[Endrea] - Your child wanted to return and it has a surprise for you
[Gambet] -Shifts his weight an sits up partially- Oh?
[Alan] I grew dad!! Am bigger now! -Rolls off Endrea's back and bounds to their father- Look! Look!
[Gambet] -Scoops Alan up and gives them a little spin- Oh that's wonderful!
[Gambet] Thank you for bringing it back, Endrea. -Small nod-
[Endrea] - You're welcome, I see it's been getting a fair amount of use out of it's ring too
[Gambet] Yes, Alan does play with it's ring often, usually when it's not in the mood to move around. I think it will be a long time before it's comfortable with so much different things going on.
[Alan] -Has snuggled themselves up under one of Gambet's arms-
[Endrea] - But they are working on it, and that's the important part.  I remember how long it took for Ashe to get used to being able to see
[Gambet] My little trooper... Do you want to sunbathe with us?
[Alan] -Blepping in comfort-
[Endrea] - I suppose I could spare some time for that, Ashe is old enough to watch his siblings

Girls: So, what is so important that you called us over so early?
Serena: Well...I have some very exciting news.
Wait a minute someone's missing...where's Ray? Isn't she supposed to be back today? I really don't want her to miss this.
Minako: Really? Then the exciting news must be about Darren. Are you trying to make her jealous!?
Serena: You guessed it and your guess is right! It's about me and Darrien! And I don't want Ray to miss one bit of this important information!!!
I want to see the look on her face when I tell her what romantic suprise my Darrien has planned for me. Wait, how did you figure it out? How creepy, it's like you can read my mind.
Minako: Didn't you know? I have a sixth sense sense about these that things. Some might call it a special gift, hidden talent or women's intuition. But it wasn't difficult to figure out. Important news for Ray? We always know you two are trying to make each other jealous. Serena you are too predictable! Anyone could have guessed.
Serena: Hmmm... I see...
Looks around...Strange, it's not like her to be late, and she didn't answer any of calls, emails. And she always taunts me about being late, whose the slow poke now!
Minako: You even emailed her?
Serena: Yep. Like I said it's urgent. Maybe I should try her communicator?
Ami and Luna: Serena!
Luna: You know that your communicator is for scout business only.
Ami: Otherwise how would we know if it's scout business, life threatening or personal?
Serena: I was only kidding. Have any of you heard from her?
Lita: No, come to think of it we haven't. We have all tried to contact her but she hasn't answered.
Minako: None of us have had time to go up to the temple and check how she's been. Come to think of it, it's kind of strange. Usually she'd be dying to tell us news about her trip with Chad, especially since things are going so well for him now.
Lita: Yes, usually she'd be dying to tell us, but she hasn't said anything. Maybe things didn't go so well, after all Chad got that big opportunity from his ex-girlfriend, who's now a big music idol.
Minako: It must have been hard on Ray, seeing them tour together. I can't help but think this was part of some secret plan to get back together with Chad.
Serena: No way! How dare she take him away! That sneaky witch! Poor Rei. I really hope she's ok.
Serena: Well...there's only one way to find out! Let's go right go now!
Girls: Right!
Girls: Hi Sensei Hino.
Sensei Hino: Girls! Great to see you, so glad you came! You must all be here to see Rei. And you couldn't have come at a better time!
(Awkwardly)...Uh, please come, right this way. I'm sure she'll be happy to see you.
Sensei Hino knocks on door...
Rei: I thought I told you, not to disturb me!
Sensei Hino: Uh, Rei...you have some visitors...you friends are here to see you.
Rei: I can't believe this, what part of not well don't you understand!? How am I supposed to get some peace around here, when you keep on disturbing me!? I said no visitors!
Serena: Hmmm...She sounds well enough to me.
Sensei Hino: That's the most she's said in days. Lately she's been unusually silent, it's been freaking me out. Still, I'm glad you came, please, you've got to help talk some sense into her! I'm staring to worry!
Rei: What, do you think, I'm deaf!? I can still hear you!!!
Serena: Days? But I thought she just came back yesterday.
Sensei Hino: Oops...I forgot, I wasn't supposed to tell you. She hasn't been well, so she probably came back not to make everyone sick. She tell you...because she didn't want to trouble you and make a big fuss about it. You know Rei.
Rei: Your the one making a big fuss over nothing!!!
Sensei Hino: Oh, I should go....good luck!
Serena: (Knocks on door)...Ray is everything ok.!? We just came to see how you were. Lita made some snacks. Is it ok. if we visit? Just for a while? We won't stay long.
Rei: Thanks for the thought, but today is really not a good day for a visit. Please leave it outside the door.
Minako: That's Ok. No problem. We'll visit another day, when you're feeling well.
Sensei Hino: (Outside near the door thinking)....Oh no, they're leaving! I've gotta do something! Looks like I have no choice. Hmmm....I got it!
Leaves and returns with a bowl of insense bombs and a cage of rats...
(Outside Rei's window...)
Sorry, Rei, but you leave me with no choice. This is for your own good!
Rei, it's just me, Grandpa.
Rei: Great. Who else would it be!? Why are you still hanging around!? Are you spying on me!?
Sensei Hino: No! This is the last time I promise. I made some insense bombs, with my special ingredients. They're very relaxing, try them. They're meditation bombs. All you need to do is throw one in the fire. The scent lasts for an entire day! I made different kinds, they make the fire turn different colours. They are also good for heightening the senses.
Rei: If I promise to take them, will you go away?
Sensei Hino: Yes, of course.
Rei: Fine.
Sensei Hino: Here you go! (Leaves them on the table next to the window). Please be sure to put them on the alter.
Rei: Grandpa, you know the alter is sacred.
Sensei Hino: Exactly! Each insense bombs has a spell like a talisman which you put on the alter.
Ray: (Thinking....) For once he actually has a good idea. Alright, Alright I'll put it on please, just go!
(grabs the bowl and turns to place it on the alter next to the fire).
Sensei Hino: Releases the rats)...Go my friends! Sorry Rei but I have no choice. Perfect, luckily I put these at the bottom on the bowl and ferimones in those bombs!
Rei: What's going on!? Screams...
Serena: Rei, is everything O.K?
Rats knock the insense bombs into the fire...the room fills with smoke.
Rei: Ughhh! Why is it so smoky in here! Hey! Get off me!!!
Runs out of the room...with all of the rats behind her.
Everyone: screams.
Serena: Ugh! Disgusting. Rats!
Everyone: Runs outside...
Serena: What just happened?
Rei: (Angry)...Grandpa's what happened. I can't believe this.
Lita: Wait where are you going?
Rei: Where else? To find that trouble making monster!
Walks, then faints...
Everyone: Rei!
Lita: Runs to catch Rei.
Darrien: I got it. (Catches her.)
Serena: Really!? Clearly! Looks like you showed up here, just in the knick of time.
Darrien: Uhhh, Serena (awkwardly)... there's really no need to be jealous... it's an emergency, we need to get help.
Serena: Who's jealous!? Considering the circumstances, I'll let you off this time.
By the way...What are you doing here?
Darrien: I'll explain later. Quick! We need to get her to a hospital.
Serena: Right!
Everyone: Arrives at the hospital...
Dr Mizuno (Ami's Mum): Hi, great to see you all. I just wish it was under better circunstances.
Ami: What are you doing here. Shouldn't you be at home.
Dr Mizuno : I was asked to work a double shift so I came here, last minute. She's stable and resting right now, we've given her IV fluid until she wakes. For now it's best if no one disturbs her, but your welcome to come back when she's awake. I can leave a message for someone to call all of you when she wakes.
Serena: That's alright, if you don't mind I'll wait here.
Girls: Agree.
Ami's Mum: That will be fine. But I recommend you have something to eat and drink, while you wait, it might be a while.
Lita: Can you tell us, what happened to her? Is she going to be alright?
Her body's weak and she's just a little exhausted and requires some food and rest. She has also got a fever because she is worn out. Other than that she is fine.
Serena: That's a relief!
Lita: Thanks for letting us know and helping Rei out.
Ami mum: My pleasure, it's what doctors do. Don't worry too much and make sure you all get enough rest.
Now, I have to see other patients. Goodbye everyone, take care.
Everyone: Bye, Thanks!
Serena: Well, stocking up on supplies sounds like a good idea.
Tummy grumbles...
Everyone: Looks at Serena
Serena: Speaking of which, I might also take her advice and get dinner. What do you say guys!
Everyone: Agrees
Minako: Great idea.
Darren: O.k, let's go.
Darren: so where would you all like to go?
Lita: How bout sushi
Serena: Too cold, I'd like something hot, like, dumplings and steam buns!
Ami: I really don't mind as long as it's healthy. Is it alright if we stop at a juice bar?
Minako: I'd eat anything right now, I'm starving. Can we all agree and please make a decision, before I faint as well.
Everyone: Sorry!
Darrien: There's a Korean restaurant not far from here which does bbq. It also has dumplings, steam buns, sushi, vegetables and soups. The only thing it doesn't have is a juicer, but they serve fresh fruit and it is also a tea house which serves a wide range of herbal and fruit teas.
Ami: Where is this place? I've never seen nor heard of it. Strange, I would think a place like that would be quite popular.
Darren: They're quite well hidden down an alley, in a square where there's a 24 hour market. Which also might be why not many people know about them. The place is quite small and cannot hold too many customers but is always very full.
They may also not want to expand their business if it becomes more popular as they get enough customers and have been around for a while, but haven't moved to a bigger more open place.
Lita: Great! Let's try it!
Serena: Well then what are we waiting for!? Say no more! Let's go!
Everyone arrives at the restaurant and goes up to the counter...
Waiter: Welcome, what can I do for you this evening?
Darrien: Table for 5 please.
Waiter: Right this way.
Everyone: Is seated a the table...
Serena: So, what we're you doing at the he temple?
Darrien: I finished work early and decided to come and see if you would all like to go to dinner, my treat.
The University is holding a welcoming banquet which is held by different clubs and associations. It gives new students the chance to make contacts and gather information and an opportunity for the clubs and associations to admit new members. The clubs and associations have contacts outside the University, which will help students once they graduate. I thought the banquet would be a good opportunity to have some fun and catch up with Rei. But now it doesn't look like she'll be making it.
Serena: What will you do? It's too important to miss it you have to go.
Ami: Serena's right. It's a great opportunity to make contacts and make a good impression.
Lita: Yeah, we can take care of things here.
Darrien: That's alright. They'll be other opportunities to meet them, which can be arranged by appointment. The banquet is really just a way to promote and attract new members, in an open and relaxing environment, so you really don't have to worry.
Serena: That's a relief. Now who's ready to order! Let's eat!
Serena: Wow....this place is great. The food is so tasty.
Serena: Darrien, you gotta try this!
Darrien: No, thanks.
Serena: Oh, come on Darien, just one bite! Come on try it! One bite won't hurt you!
Darrien: Serena! (Pushes her hand away)
Darrien: Come on, quit playing around.
Serena: Just one bite and I'll leave you alone!
Darrien: Come on Serena, I said no!
Serena's phone rings...
Serena: Huh? Who could it be? There's no number.
Serena answers her phone...Hello? Who is this?
Hi, is this Serena?
Serena: Speaking.
Hi Serena, my name is Dr Hirimashu, from the hospital. I would just like to update you of Rei's condition. Surprisingly, her fever has already cleared and she has woken. Really? Only after 1 hour? That's great to hear!
Dr Hirimashu: Yes, I'm afraid I also have bad news. When she woke, she was very confused. She seems to have lost her memory and we are unsure of the cause.
Serena: What?!
Dr Hirimashu: Surprisingly, she doesn't seem distressed. There also doesn't appear to be any injury to head or body.
Dr Hirimashu: We would like to keep her until further notice and run some tests. Is it possible for you to come up to the hospital? It might help of she can see some familiar faces.
Serena: O.k, we'll be right there. Poor Rei.
Girls: What happened?!
Serena: It's Rei. Rei's lost her memory.
Girls: What?!!! How could this happen?!!!
Serena: They aren't sure and would like to run some tests.
Darrien: We should head back.
Serena: Let's go
Everyone arrives at the hospital...heads to reception...
Darrien: Hi, were friends, here to visit Rei Hino.
Nurse: Hi, right this way.
Arrives at the entrance of Rei's room...
Serena: Hi Rei, it's Serena. Is it O.k if we come in?
Rei: Serena? (Has a vacant stare like something is on her mind).
Serena: Yes, Serena. I’m a close friend of yours. We just came to see how your doing. Is it o.k if we stay a while?
Rei: Sure. I guess.
Serena: How are you feeling? Do you remember who we all are?
Rei: Has a flashback of a memory...of visiting Serena in the moon kingdom...Sailor Mars is injured... Pushes princess Serena back...keep away!!!
Serena: Rei...
Rei: Holds her injured arm...How could you!!!
Serena: Please forgive me...let me help you
Sailor Mars: I said keep away!!! Pushes Serena back....Serena falls to the ground. I trusted you and you betrayed me, how could you!
Princess Serena: I would never do that, please trust me. I will find to get some help.
Sailor Mars: I don't need your help. Why are you still lying!?
Moon Soldiers: There! Get her! Protect the princess
One of the moon soldiers: Princess, are you O.k.?
Princess Serena: How could this happen! (Tears)
Sailor Mars: I won't get away with this!!! Escapes.
Rei: Has another flashback...
The outside enemy are invaders from another solar system. They want to absorb the power of the Fire Star Families. If they are able to obtain it, they would be able to take over the entire solar system.
The outside enemy is too powerful. King Yuelideon is afraid of what will happen if their enemies are able to get the fire star families power. He decides it is better to take away the fire kingdoms power before the enemy can take it.
He knows the fire kingdom will never let him remove or seal their power and decides to do it secretly when he invites them to them to the moon kingdom.
The Fire Star Family are very powerful warriors, most who are not afraid to quickly act on impulse, instinct and use their strong physical abilites. They strong intuition and ability to sense deception and see the future. King Yuelideon has always felt unsettled and threated by these traits and a warriors desire for conquest, though they had always been loyal and fair to the moon kingdom, believing their strengths should they choose to turn would put the moon kingdom was at a disadvantage. This always made him weary of them.
Yuelideon knows the only people who can seal the Fire Star Families power is the Dark Star Kingdom (Kingdom of Saturn). The dark star family have the power to repress, seal and remove the Fire Star Kingdoms power. Yuelideon was of great help in the past in defeating and removing the guardian of destruction (Sailor Saturn), from her chaotic terror and rein of the dark star kingdom. After conversation, a male guardian and prince (Sailor Saturn’s twin brother) dark star kingdom agrees to help.
In order to nutralise their power so they could remove it, they planned to use water from the pond of the moon crystal. The water has the ability to create dreams, illusions and put a person into a deep sleep or state of confusion.
Yuelideon is from the blue moon family and is the guardian of the imperial blue moon crystal. The Prince of Saturn explains that drinking the water of the moon crystal combined with his Saturnian surpressant energy, will not be enough to block their preminisions or intuitive ability to sense dangerous or deceptive energy.
However due to the fire birds family irriadation energy clashing with the moon energy of Yuelideon, they would have to make a crystal from the elements of blood of fire irriadation, Yuelideon, moon crystal water and Saturnian surpressant energy.
In order to block their senses, Yuelideon would need to get a drop of the fire bird families blood, the one that possesses the irriadation crystal. Once contaminated, it's holder will use it's irriadation to project the same energy , contaminating the entire fire bird family, as they all hold a strong psychic connection which reinforces their strength.
Queen Serenity believed the destruction of the moon kingdom was a repurcussion of their betrayl of the War Fire Kingdom. If the Fire Kingdom still existed, the Moon Kingdom would have won the war against Queen Beryl.
Sailor Uranus and Neptune blame the weak rulership of the Moon kingdom for the destruction of the moon and all the planets believing their decisions were due to their selfish desires, which is part of why the hold a grudge and doubt her ability to rule, when they travel to the future.
Rei: I won’t let you get away with this!
Enemy: Tell me, who in the universe will stop me!? Even those moon kingdom people are against you. How do you expect to win?
Rei: Uhhh...(hurt, bent down)...(Thinks)....Looks like I have no choice...
(Energetic firery symbol appears on her forehead light up, the fire star irradation crystal appears)
Elder: No! not the fire star irridation crystal! No, you can’t!!!
Rei: Stay back! There’s no other choice. As a guardian, it is my responsibility to protect this planet.
Rei: Tonight, my power will become your curse!
Rei: Mars...
Dark War Star Guardian: Wait!!!
Rei: Move!
Dark War Star Guardian:  I won’t let you do this! You’ll be  destroyed!
Dark War Star Guardian: There might be another way. I can seal his power when you use the irradation crystal to weaken him then we can seal him in the crystal. Then you can use the Crystal to destroy his energy.
Fire Moon Guardian: Kneels to her guardian moon Aera (A long time ago the moons of Mars were called Aera and Aeros) The fire star sends energy to Aera. (Eyes closed)... Please guardian moon, mother protector and warrior, help me protect the lives on this planet.
A new energy surrounds the Fire moon Guardian given by Aera. A Crystal appears in front of her.
Aera: This is the Fire Star moon crystal, use it’s power to seal the people of this planet within it and expel evil.
Fire Moon Guardian: Thank you, I will.
Aera: Quickly, there’s not much time. You must hurry.
(Moons Aera and Aeros are sister and brother. The guardians have some combined attacks which also reinforce each others power).
The combined power of Aera and  Aeros have created a field around the planet, blocking moon kingdom soldiers.
King Yuelous has ordered troops to invade Mars (War Fire Kingdom).
Fire Moon Guardian:
Enemy is sealed in the irridation crystal...He is destroyed, but his dark energy cannot be destroyed or expelled and turns the irridation crystal black. Rei struggles to overcome it’s powerful influence and turns destructive.
Fire Moon Guardian: We have tried everything to remove this evil. What can we do?
Rei:(Has another flashback)...
Rei: Sorry, I don’t remember.
Serena: That’s o.k, there’s no hurry, just take your time, i’m sure it will all come back in time and we’ll be here to help if you need anything.
Serena: Rei? Is everything O.k?
Minako: We're your close friends. We've known you for a long time, were pretty much family.
Rei: Sorry but I really don't remember.
Serena: That's alright. We just we just want to let you know we're here for you, no matter what happens so you can just take your time getting better.
Lita: Right. Just lets us know if there is any way we can help.
Ami: Is there anything you do remember?
Serena: What's this? You also have a transformation starseed crystal? But where did it come from? It's red and shaped like a star. Just what exactly happened Ray... (suspicious voice).
Rei: (Nods)...I remember when I was little chasing birds ...I keep seeing different coloured birds. Do I have any birds?
Everyone: !?
Serena: (thinking). Great. She doesn't remember anyone, but she remembers the birds.
Rei: When can I go home?
