if you have a friend or loved one who is a system, or just want to know more about dissociative identity disorder (did), please read this!
hello!! i’m the host of a did system and i’ve noticed that for a while and especially lately, harmful stereotypes are still going around about did. that’s why i wanted to make this post to try and educate people about systems and things i wish more people knew. so here’s a few things!! please share if possible! ♡
first of all, there are some people who doubt did even being a real condition. it is very much a real disorder that millions of people struggle with. it has been in the dsm and icd for decades and is officially recognized. there is no reason to think it doesn’t exist. people with did can even have different brain patterns between alters in brain scans.
did systems are not dangerous or violent. this is a myth formed by ableist stereotypes in media which spreads this idea. an alter in a did system isn’t more likely to be violent than any other average person. in fact, since did is caused by severe childhood trauma, systems are way more likely to be victims and not perpetrators.
each alter is their own person and should be treated with the same amount of respect as you would have for anyone else. alters are not just fictional characters or “mood swings,” they are real separate parts with their own sense of self, memories, likes and dislikes, etc.
did presents differently in every system - not one system will ever be the exact same as another. outside of the diagnostic criteria, there’s no set of rules that make systems “real.” like any mental disorder, everyone who has it experiences it in their own unique way.
if you have someone close to you with did, don’t get mad at them for forgetting things. it’s going to happen and can’t really be avoided most of the time. systems have amnesia, so if they forget something, don’t take it personally. it isn’t their fault.
do not fakeclaim. it is always harmful for the community. if you think someone is faking, first, educate yourself, and if you still think that, then disengage.
did is not just having alters. it has many hardships and alters are just one of the symptoms among many other symptoms.
did is a trauma response and dissociative disorder, not a personality disorder. alters are not “split personalities,” they are parts of a self that did not integrate into one person due to trauma.
did is often hidden. lots of people with did may mask their symptoms for years, and they don’t know they have it right away. systems often take years until they find out that they are a system.
if someone shares that they have did, be supportive. don’t ask invasive questions. respect each alter, i cannot stress that enough, do not treat them like the same person or as if they are less than actual people.
not every system is gonna know all their alters or every answer or literally everything about their system. people with did are also often very confused about their own condition.
it’s a misconception that did is overdiagnosed and it’s incredibly rare and barely anyone would realistically have it - it’s the opposite, did is often mistaken for other conditions, making it underdiagnosed. we personally were even mistakenly diagnosed with bipolar disorder until we were officially diagnosed with did. also, it’s not as rare as people think - while yes it isn’t particularly common, the same percentage of people with bulimia or people with red hair, is the same percentage of people with did.
systems are not just people who have “vivid imaginations,” did is not a roleplay and it’s a serious mental health condition rooted in trauma.
systems who talk about their experiences or about their alters and headspace are not faking just because they are able to share their own experiences. people with did have to live their whole lives with the condition, so obviously they would have some things to say about their own lives.
alters may have different names, voices, ages, genders, physical sensations, pain tolerance, abilities, handedness, etc. since dissociation affects perception deeply - some alters even may have different allergies
no alter is less of a real person than another alter.
systems don’t owe anyone proof of their diagnosis, personal information, etc. it’s invasive and disrespectful
do NOT ask extremely personal and insensitive questions like “what’s your trauma”
switches aren’t really dramatic and can be extremely subtle. sometimes, systems don’t even realize they have switched at first.
it takes time for an alter to ground/stabilize when they switch into front. they won’t immediately know who they are.
if someone you know with did switches in front of you or it seems like they are, stay calm and don’t yell at them or try to stop it or “snap them out of it.” greet the alter respectfully and be patient. we can’t really control switches, so please be considerate.
systems don’t have to be miserable 24/7. yes we do go through lots of hardships, but we are people too. we are able to be happy and enjoy things in life and succeed. trauma is part of the story, not the whole story
if there’s an alter who’s defensive or aggressive, they always have a reason - they went through terrible trauma too and different alters cope in different ways. they don’t owe anyone softness or friendship, and they should be treated with respect as well. you don’t get to pick and choose which alters you treat with dignity.
children and teenagers can have did and be diagnosed with did. it isn’t only diagnosed in adulthood.
don’t compare alters or say “alter a is better than alter b” it’s very insulting
co-fronting is an important term to know. it means when two or more alters are sharing control of the body at the same time. some outward examples of co-fronting could be two or more alters talking to each other or taking turns speaking; their emotions, mannerisms, and ways of speaking often combine, and so on
also if a system is talking out loud to another alter it isn’t weird don’t be like “wtf are they doing” it helps for many systems to talk out loud rather than in their head.
i shouldn’t even have to say this but don’t say those unfunny ass “hi i’m bunny” jokes i don’t even have to explain that is obviously extremely disrespectful 😭
you don’t always need to know “who” you’re talking to - sometimes we’re trying to figure out who’s fronting ourselves.
did systems often get *really* tired and exhausted. it takes a toll to manage everything and switching or fronting for long periods or masking for safety, etc. be understanding if they go quiet or can’t be energetic all the time
there is no specific numbers of alters that should be in a system. there could be only 2 or like 200 both are possible. polyfragmented systems are systems with 100+ alters, and they come from complex splitting patterns, intricate internal organization, and a high degree of dissociation. everyone splits differently.
do not say you want to be a system, you don't, it's very tiring and difficult
your respect, patience, and support matter more than you may think. even if you don’t fully understand, just being there and listening and treating them kindly and adapting, means so much to systems and makes a huge difference.
i think that’s about it for now!! thank you so much for reading this far and if you have any questions always feel free to ask. there are many helpful resources as well that you can use and i linked one below!
thank you again! 💞

Random reminder that I HATE Plushie Dreadful!! Those mental illness/disabilities plushes? Typically rabbits? There's been a lot of criticism over them about ableism in the past. Personal feelings about disorders being marketed, formerly partnering with Autism Speaks, etc. But one thing people don't seem to notice is the ableism towards schizophrenics, narcissists, and antisocials! This site with a bunch of beautifly designed rabbit stuffed animals decided to make the schizophrenic and antisocial plushes noticably creepier than most others. The antisocial one at the very least came out cuter than the concept art. But the schizophrenic one is openly based on serial killers. And NPD? The official Twitter account made a poll about what the design should be, made degrading comments about narcissists, and liked comments by people making fun of narcissists. In the end, in order to not make the npd plush TOO special or unique looking, made it a plain brown rabbit with a paper crown (openly saying it's because pwnpd aren't actually special or deserving of a real one). When contacted by pwnpd with criticism/feedback, like they say they accept, they ignored it
Ableism towards disorders people find "scary" or "bad" is still ableism!!! It's still shitty!!!

I know this is just like, a general thing and people don't necessarily mean anything by it, but I fucking hate the phrases "go outside", "touch grass", and "chronically online" as responses to bad takes.
it just sucks being someone who's unable to leave the house most of the time due to disability, and then having to hear people constantly equating being indoors a lot and spending a lot of time online with having shitty opinions or being a shitty person.
and once again I know it's not that deep but I can't help but wonder how people perceive housebound disabled people if they associate being inside all the time with being shitty. I feel really on edge when people use these phrases while talking to me because even if they're generally supportive, the association between "this person sucks" and "this person doesn't go outside enough" makes me feel like people secretly think I'm terrible and are judging me because I spend most of my time indoors even if it's for reasons that are out of my control.
(ironically enough I'm pretty sure saying that this bothers me is the exact kind of thing that would make some people call me "chronically online" or tell me to go touch grass or whatever)
#personal#thoughts#🍬 post#vent post#yes they're silly internet phrases and no people aren't thinking of disabled people when they use them#but like... if you see someone expressing a really bad take and your first thought is ''this person clearly spends a lot of time indoors''#then surely that means your brain associates ''spending lots of time indoors'' with ''having terrible opinions/being a shithead''#and I have to wonder what subconscious biases you might hold towards someone who can't go outside often if at all#even if you think you're supportive of those people#this post isn't directed towards anyone in particular. these phrases are just used so fucking much and it's exhausting seeing them so much#and it feels like if you complain you just get a bunch of people telling you to stop being so sensitive#and being like ''it's not that deep. nobody's thinking of disabled people when they say this stuff''#and like... yeah I can tell. it's the same as when people say slow walkers are the most annoying people on earth#or when they complain about ''picky eaters''#or any other example of something they find annoying that's often caused by medical issues#and then you say ''hey this is often caused by disability'' and they're like ''well I obviously wasn't talking about disabled people''#but it's clear they never even considered disabled people and are absolutely gonna be shitty to disabled people with that trait#and they'd rather act like you're too sensitive than stop to reconsider whether they were being ableist

yj is fascinating to me. i watch the silly finale. i giggle. i think huh that's interesting. i go yepyep they're still not interrogating race and disability and consequently having some racist and ableist implications in their narrative. i whoop and cheer when coach ben says fuck them kids and tries to burn down their little cannibalism cottage, not because i think they deserve to die but i think it's deeply funny that ben Did That. what a guy. coach 'i can excuse burning like 12 children to death but i draw the line at survival cannibalism' ben. yes thats his legal name <3 anyway misty girls stay winning

There are a lot of issues with the ethics of ai art right now but it's really fucking something to see people consistently mad that it makes art accessible to others
#im seeyhing bc i saw a post like 'the art is inisde of you!! its called being human!! disability isnt an excuse for using ai art!!!'#so i go to their blog abd its all. 'dont be an ableist asshole!!!' and its like. oh okay cunt.#fuck all the disabled people who literally cant make art i guess! the art is inside them so they should be happy with that right??#like literally this point is so fucking vile. the feeling of needing to make and not being able to is agony#and like. what an awful point. OBVIOUSLY art comes from within but thats not the fucking point#bc if it WAS we wouldnt feel the need to make art. we would be satisfied within our worlds with no urbe to reach out#*urge not urbe#but we DO make art and we do it at least partially to be HEARD and to be SEEN like no other method of communication offers#so to argue that making ai art is evil even if you cannot make other kinds of art because 'art' comes from within-- well fuck that entirely#also. people need to stop trying to define art in a way that differentiates True Divine Honest Art from lowly images or whatever#comes off very fashy and very you've never tried to make art#which the latter isnt an insult just that like. someone is trying to define something they have no experience with and it shows#and if op DOES make art then this whole thing is even more vile. i hate artists that try to deligitimize other art like this more than#a lot of other things bc i do make art and i have met those people and they are just fucking cruel full stop

We got another one, lads!
Also I have both the PDF and the audiobook on my Google Drive and I'm more than willing to send you the link.
P.S. if you DO end up reading it, I gotta warn you that the ending sucks. It's no good at all. Imho it renders a whole character completely pointless and massacres like 2 separate themes of the book at once. Literally just because of 5 or so sentences. Personally I like to just ignore those specific sentences and pretend that that particular plot twist did not happen. Because here's the fun part: in the terms of the literal plot, the plot twist is totally pointless. It works perfectly fine without it. If you erase those 5 sentences literally nothing changes. The only thing that changes is the thematic level of the work and it changes for the worse. A parallel just fucking gone. A character is there for no fucking reason now. A whole character arc might as well have not happened. Like two whole themes go up in flames. Several scenes begin to make no sense at all.
Oh also every time someone I know reads it, they make me aware that I forgot to warn them about a fatphobic scene at the start of the book. I keep erasing it from my memory and that's why I keep forgetting to warn people. But I'm warning you about it now. It's there and it sucks.
Other than that I really recommend the book. King wrote it in two or so weeks while having stomach flu and it shows (positive).
enough about the eroticism of cannibalism what about the eroticism of parasitism. this is our body because i live in you.
#like seriously it's worth it you gotta reading it it fucks#i find it to be a very atypical book for King. granted i mostly read his short stories but still.#what i mean is that most of King's work is very much about what is really happening. Even Carrie; my favourite book of his;#which is largely psychological horror; ties the psychological horror with what's really happening.#whereas Dreamcatcher atypically seems to be two very different layers: what's happening (a war; i guess. an infection. body horror.)#and what's happening on a psychological thematic level (humanity/inhumanity. dreams/insanity. the duality of man(?). the question of#individual identity. who are you? what does it mean? what does it mean to be someone? do you have to be Someone or is it enough to be#someone? is the sunk cost a fallacy or a duty? if it's the latter to whom is this duty sworn? do you know? what kind of life#do you live? are you even living a life? do you want to be living a life? what does it feel like to die? what does it feel like not to? etc)#the layer happening solely in the characters' heads is so prominent that the movie adaptation; which lacks it; is pretty much#a whole different story. and for the record aside from their (even worse)* attempt to retcon the ending; it is a GREAT adaptation#with some very well known actors. it actually got me to read the book lmao. the problem is that since it fails to adapt#the inner monologues and dialogues (understandably) it fails to convey literally any of the themes.#plus it makes the stars of the show (Jonesy + Gray) into pretty minor characters as a sideffect.#but i DO recommend watching it later for the stellar performance of the guy who plays Jonesy + Gray. he genuinely plays Gray#in a very unsettling manner and it's perfect. no idea about the voice because I've only ever seen it in Czech and our VA does a great job#*yeah ok um. so the adaptation chooses to be insane and makes the character with implied Down's syndrome into an alien from#a race that's at war with Gray's race. like. ok. that's literally the indigo children rhetoric. the famously ableist cult rhetoric.#like that's a very real very much still practiced belief in some cults. the belief that neurodivergent children aren't human beings#but are instead alien souls reincarnated into human bodies.#anyway yeah read Dreamcatcher. surreal experience. Gray peak character. never has there been a bigger loser. hivemind's weakest soldier fr.#obviously Jonesy is also peak character because the themes couldn't work without him and also just because he has some kind#of problem and also he's a horror fan and that's a bonus. funniest fact is that he has a wife but mentions her like twice. he has#something much more intimate going on with his friend Beaver. who's actually also my favourite character.#but Jonesy definitely deserves the 2nd spot if for nothing else but having much stronger chemistry with one of his friends AND#with the alien fungus in his head than he has with his own wife. like ok Jonesy I think you might want to re-evaluate your marriage.#oh also he's disabled and i just think it's neat. chronic pain gang feat Jonesy and his busted hip.

actually. that post about how its important to have weird kinky queer friends. i think the same is true of really every type of ostracized person but in particular i wanna point it out wrt mentally ill people.
if you watch a movie villainizing DID or schizophrenia or something, and you think, "hey, this seems sort of like its based on what my friend has and theyre just a chill person, why are they making my friends condition seem threatening?" thats good.
if you see someone use narcissist as a synonym for abuser and you think, "what, no, im friends with someone who has NPD and i know theyre a kind person, this isnt true at all," thats good.
if you hear politicians try to frame addicts as violent criminals who should be locked up and you think "no, my buddy sam is just sick, their withdrawals are really painful and they dont have a good support system, they shouldnt be locked up for that," thats good.
being able to counter ableist rhetoric with "i know from experience thats not how these people are" is a good thing. like yeah obviously dont make friends with mentally ill people just for brownie points but also try to make the conscious effort to be open to friendship with people who have stigmatized mental health issues. and maybe even more importantly, be someone who makes it clear to others that youre safe to be open about these things with, because chances are youre ALREADY friends with mentally ill people even if you dont realize it, because a lot of us with more demonized conditions try to hide those conditions out of fear, and it helps a lot to know our friends are allies - and then we might feel safe discussing our experiences, IF we want to, and in turn that can help you better understand the realities and diversities of our situations and be less susceptible to ableist rhetoric.

HEY! Just because I am now 20 I think having something to kind of re establish boundaries would be good! Considering the ones I put all those times ago have changed :D GENERAL RULES! Do not be racist, sexist, homophobic, antisemitic, ableist, or discriminatory against anyone for any reason. Please if someone is calling you out for things you have done or said, please self-reflect and take the proper steps to change or remove yourself from the community. If you see something you do not like, and it IS MADE WORSE BY BRINGING ATTENTION TO IT, THEN IGNORE IT! Bringing attention to problems that just arent really problems with either the community or me in general are not worth it! Please use common sense when thinking about what/what not to engage with! I personally wish that people in the community do NOT engage with people who just obviously do not like me! Chances are they want a reaction from it so it is MUCH better to just not argue with someone whos mind you will not change! ALLOW CRITICISM OF ME AND MY CONTENT! IF YOU DONT AGREE OR DONT LIKE THEN DO NOT ARGUE ABOUT IT!!!! ALL IT WILL DO IS CAUSE UNESSICARY DRAMA!!! DO NOT make ANY comments or content about me that is explicitly sexual. I completely understand that lately there have been bits due to the changes in how I’ve been presenting myself and how I’ve been presenting more femininely, but that does not allow anyone to use that as an excuse to sexualize any features and such that are more feminine or masculine. Remember that femininity is not sexual and should not be seen or created as such just because its there! (for example, the Vtuber costume and chat being overly weird over the added boobs where there was no need for it). DO NOT draw me in ways that are sexual either, such as highlighting any aspects in a sexual way, or making the content something sexual. I am completely okay with being drawn as any body type, masculine presenting or feminine presenting, as long as you stick to this! PLEASE DO NOT SPECULATE ABOUT MY PERSONAL LIFE!!! Making jokes about certain topics CAN be fine, but a line is crossed when it becomes a legitimate speculation or if a joke is said when I have expressed my discomfort! RESPECT MY FRIENDS!!! All of my friends are their own, incredible people. And they do not deserve to be lumped in or referred to as JUST "my friend". Be respectful in their chats even when im not there, and be respectful to all of them everywhere else! IF SOMEONE IS TRYING TO INFORM YOU THAT YOU MAY BE DOING SOMETHING WRONG PLEASE LISTEN!!! There has been a lot of times in which I have seen people be unwilling to change in the face of a genuine discussion, and that is not something I want in the community! I should NOT have to police every single thing because it should NOT take me saying something in order to change your mind! As my words are not worth more or less when it comes to a lot of subjects! And lastly, do good. Whenever you have the ability to. BE POSITIVE!!! The hater mindset is very draining and can be very toxic to both you and the people around you, so highlight the good instead of the bad if you have the ability to! I am so incredibly proud of how far this community has come, and I cannot wait for the future!!! I have spent some time writing this, but it may not be perfect, so I will update this as time goes on and I think of more, or if something needs to be SUPER cleared up, but for now these are the main ones! I will NOT be updating this after every little thing however, as I do not want you guys to feel like the only way that something is wrong is if I talk about it! As you guys should be able to sustain yourself as a community without my consistent input! Imma go enjoy my birthday by eating a pizza :) thank you all!

so like. fnaf movie. after night five, all outside observers know is "this 30yo guy with severe anger issues + his 10yo mentally ill sister just walked out of his collapsing workplace with an unconscious, stabbed police officer, saying that someone inside the building tried to kill them but we can't get into the building to check. we went to their house and the aunt who was fighting for custody of the child is dead on the floor. the guy's career counselor is missing, as is his babysitter and her family and apparently they're all dead in the building we can't get into." and like. that all looks suspicious as FUCK however we know that in the few-weeks timeskip both mike and abby seem happy and fine so it's not like mike was arrested or anything. he seems to be more adjusted and is happily talking with her teacher so i doubt he's under stress of interrogation or anything
there's a lot of implications there that mike mighta pulled something but it's all circumstantial evidence at best. i'm sure in jane's autopsy and crime scene evidence they couldn't find any evidence of mike being the one to attack her, esp since it was probably just golden freddy bopping her in the head so they dont even have the weapon, and if she was strangled they'd be able to tell it wasn't by bare hands and they couldnt get prints or anyth. especially if golden freddy is a FULL ghost and thus left no trail.
mike would be smart enough to only tell the cops what they need to know without mentioning ghosts to sound crazy. abby might be more honest with the cops just bc of #autism but they'd be more likely to consider her talking about ghosts and imaginary friends as a child's way of coping, and they cant get anything out of her that would incriminate mike. ADD TO THAT that mike has wounds that are clearly defensive and is SUPER banged up and his wounds would likely match his story way better than evidence of him attacking anyone, AND that there's likely footage and witnesses of him being in the pharmacy and then driving to work (and thus not in the area to attack jane), AND if/when nessie wakes up she'll probably vouch for mike as well, and the cops dont have anything on him
though i DO wonder if they would have records of vanessa patching him up in the police outpost. if they do, that would also back up mike's story as it's 1) far away from the aunt jane crime scene, 2) confirms that he and vanessa were working together, so either she's complicit in Crime™ or his story is accurate and she was helping him save his sister. him going to defend her instead of calling backup is also consistent with his personality of getting triggered and jumping into action around child abduction, esp w/ his sibling in danger
considering what abby would probably say, AND the history of freddy's, it's likely that they would come to the conclusion of is "someone [likely the og kidnapper from the 80s] found out that the guy working at freddy's had a sister, kidnapped abby from her house while her aunt was babysitting and tried to recreate the crimes, his story of him and vanessa defending her and escaping vaguely checks out." whether or not mike would incriminate vanessa by mentioning her dad was the killer is up in the air, and there's obviously some huge holes that are left from nobody believing that there are ghosts in the building but that would probably be the eventual conclusion
but throwing that all away, it would be really, REALLY funny if the rest of the town, being really fuckin nosy and getting into the juiciest gossip they've had in decades, took one look at michael "big teddy bear falling asleep on himself" schmidt and said "there's no way. there's no way this guy murdered his aunt, stabbed an officer and then destroyed his own workplace, especially when he really needed that job and was on sleeping medication," and then turned around to look at abby "neurodivergent in the early 2000s (ableist af time period)" "vocally hates her aunt" "doesn't talk to anyone and claims that she can see ghosts" "vaguely possessive of her brother" "claims that she found the guy who hurt her friends and got him jumped by a cupcake(?)" schmidt and said "oh my god. it was her."
and nobody's gonna directly say anything but they've got cautious eyes on the situation and someone quietly slips mike a copy of the bad seed to see if he has a realization but instead he's just like "hey this book kinda reminds of that golden freddy kid lmao. wonder how he's doin" and then we smashcut to golden freddy kid poking springtrap with a stick

Ableism in the Hellenic Polytheist space
Before I start, today is seriously a low spoons day, so I hope all of this is coherent and makes sense.
I've noticed a large trend of covert ableism in this space recently. Both in terms of how making your practice more accessible is viewed, but also the way that the disabilities of other people get treated by other members of the community.
Obviously part of this post is in relation to the current debate that I'm seeing about offering the gods processed foods. The "hot Cheetos and monster" stuff that's going around. Before I get into this, please don't go harass anybody. I know at least one person who has made an opposite stance to mine known as received countless asks of them telling them horrible awful things. We can disagree and be civil, but if anyone who follows me feels the need to send anon hate to anyone over this, please just don't follow me. I don't want you here. With that disclaimer over, let's dig in.
No, I don't think the gods will view you any differently because you offer processed foods (or digital offerings that you put genuine time and energy and thought into!!!) If all that you can manage is genuinely Hot Cheetos and an unopened can of monster, that is a good, valid, and loved offering. If you are able to do more and you still decide to do that, that is still a perfectly valid offering. @fireandfennel made a really good post (linked here) about disability and offerings that explains it better than me, but an offering is a sacrifice. Processed foods are expensive, and often for us disabled people it's all that we can manage because we can't always cook or even prepare instant meals. To us that is a sacrifice. I would also argue that in this economy where junk food is more expensive than ever, it's a sacrifice for everyone that chooses to do it, because it is inherently more expensive than offering something like water. The idea that it has to come straight from the earth is a valid one, but is definitely not doable for all of us. I wish personally that I could be ass deep in the mud to be collecting clay, but I just physically can't. The other point that I would like to make about this is that almost everything that we consume is either processed or genetically modified. Unless you are offering something that you have grown yourself with no pesticides or anything, you are still offering a processed food of some sort. If you offer tap water, you are offering water that is treated with fluoride. If you are offering purified water, you are offering water that has had to be processed. In the modern day, 99% of us will not be giving offerings that aren't processed. We just aren't. To me this point stems from the idea that some people are Better Special Worshippers because they have the physical ability to do what others of us cannot. Which brings me to my second point.
Tumblr is ableist. This community is ableist. We need to do better. The way this has been handled by VERY LARGE creators is absolutely fucking insane to me. The idea of "just cut up an apple instead" is a crazy take because some people have mobility issues with their hands and arms, some people have issues with grip and coordination. Not everyone CAN "just" cut up an apple. For some people it's a big fucking task. I think truthfully that these people just aren't thinking about their disabled peers, though that's what I'm choosing to hope (rather than seeing the observable fact that these creators claim to be friends with disabled people, and still choose to be openly exclusionary towards them).
The way I've seen it handled in replies was worse. Someone in the comments of a post were even making fun of me personally because of a meme I posted regarding my mental illness, making jokes that I was attention seeking and it "made sense". Yeah I'm diagnosed with multiple conditions, and even if it's in memes, I AM going to talk about it so that other people feel less alone.
I've seen so many people say or imply that it's lazy to offer junk food. Listen if you're offering what you have and it's with clean hands and good intentions, the gods love you.
Anyway my point to this is that Tumblr has been really fucking ableist lately with the way they've been handling offerings, and it's really disappointing because the ones I've seen do it are large accounts. This is not okay. We are better than this as a community.
For all the disabled folks like me, you are welcome here. You are welcome on my account, you are welcomed by Dionysus. The gods are for everyone and they understand, even when other humans don't.

Doey x Player
First of all I don't really ship any of the x Poppy Angels ships. Cause frankly I'm asexual and I find I can't personally seperate myself enough from the player character yet. I wanted to make this cause I was seeing a lot of frankly cruel call out posts.
This is not pedophilia. Or disgusting.
The idea that Doey and the other toys don't age is a headcanon. To assume your headcanon is correct and then demonize others. Is put simply wrong. This isn't FNAF they aren't children souls. Their organs are literally taken out and placed into another body. The whole point is that they are 'living' toys.
You are fine to have that headcanon though. But you should not use it to attack others.
For Doey specifically I see people call out his mental breakdown at the end of the game. As evidence that he's 'still a child'. This however is not evidence. It is a mental breakdown from someone who has something almost similar to DID(obviously a more sci-fi version but the closest irl thing I can compare it too). In his breakdown he wasn't even making any sense. Repeating lines we've heard him say over the years. Crying out that he wants to go home.
These are all normal things that can happen in a mental breakdown. Actually learn about trauma triggers and read stuff about it. Doey regressing and just letting Kevin's anger take over is pretty normal for someone who just went through as much trauma as he did.
Besides this point though people say he talks like a child. And I really want to understand where. Throughout the story he seems very rational and reasonable. Even the brief moments that Kevin and what I assume Jack takes over.
Even Doey's last tape before the end of the game. He's scared there but seems like someone just trying to figure out what to do. Nothing about it made me think he's a child.
All this aside, I want to use this just for people to realize. The "they don't age" is a headcanon. They need to eat, sleep, etc. So why do you believe they don't age? This doubling down on this headcanon especially using his breakdown as evidence just seems ableist. Cause I've seen other people not even myself try to explain to others that using that evidence point is ableist.
I doubt this would change those in that echo Chambers mind. But for others that just never really thought about it. I hope this just makes you realize. Yeah either version is just a headcanon. And neither is Canon at the moment. What we do know for sure is that at least 10 years has passed since the hour of Joy. And Doey was made before that. Long enough to witness the guards making toys fight, to be through plenty of interviews, etc.
So by evidence of just time itself. He'd be like at the least 18-25(with the assumption Jack was 8 when he fell into the dough). And this is actually a low estimate cause it assumes that the hour of joy happens soon after he is created.
Stop calling people pedophiles over a headcanon and frankly pretty tame ship. Like ya'll scream about this one then turn around and praise the doctor one. When Doctor is clearly a sadistic childkilling monster. But you give that one a pass. Yet get upset at people when they want to date like the one person in the game that was genuinely kind and a protector.
Stop attacking other people over headcanons. You can debate them but pedophile should not be flung around at all.
Thank you for listening to my rant.

"Sunlight here and Shadows there" has a lot of wonderful parts (Honeys kits! Seven Silvers! Sky's gender journey!) but I wanted to thank you for Meadow in particular. Warrior cats is well known for being ableist, but there's a lot that's undiscussed about how that connects to the clan views about how outsiders (especially housecats) are "weak, lazy, and spoiled" for choosing to live an "easy" life.
But Meadow being able to decide to pursue a life with less pain means a lot to me. I love how he loves his family and they love him but they can't really... Help him. Living in the wild is realistically possible, but it's not what Meadow needs. Obviously he misses his family and they miss him, but like the rest of the kits, his epilogue is about what he specifically needs. Being with humans is a life that lets him feel comfortable, safe, and happy, and it's so nice seeing a story where he's not seen as bad for wanting it.
"Maybe it's not all that bad to leave your past behind" Indeed.

Thank you so much! Warriors is very focused on that ideal of "punishing yourself out of nobility/loyalty/etc" and while it can be good to have those traits, that idea that it's automatically worth more than your own body and health is much, much worse. The books? Turns out? Kinda bad.
I did honestly consider making all the cats at live with a human or at least around humans, but eventually I decided it probably isn't something these skittish cats would go for, or that people wouldn't split up a gang of a dozen cats.
