hey arwen, long time no see!! hope you're doing well! 💜
i know nothing about txf besides what i've gleaned from this hellsite which is a) mulder is a lovable idiot, b) scully both loves him (almost against her will??), and c) they literally invented shipping BUT tell me about your top 5 txf episodes!!!
hi mitali i have been EXTREMELY patchy on here lately haven't i lol. local woman appears on tumblr to write ten meta posts about the x files and then disappears again! i'm doing okay; my real life has been kind of chaotic (had to last-minute cancel a trip i have been desperate to go on for years so :/ but! on the bright side it means i get to see my flatmates sooner than i thought and i miss them even though i've been gone from my flat for like a week and a half lol). how have you been???
those are very accurate txf vibes but i will say that scully is a very active and willing participant in being in love with mulder even though he can be very very stupid at times lol. i hope you watch it someday- i think it would be right up your alley! kind of similar doctor who ecological niche of being weird, heartfelt, politically relevant sci-fi with no consistent quality or tone.
ANYWAY. top 5 txf episodes, bearing in mind that i've technically only watched up until the end of the fourth season so far; i'm just a ho for spoilers:
pusher (3.17)... what can i say about pusher that i haven't said already. a lot, probably, because every single day i log on here and i see someone's written new meta about pusher that makes the entire show make more sense. it's just... it's txf distilled to its barest elements. it's about trust and codependency and a supernatural force that is made all the more unsettling by the fact that at its core it is just some guy. it's funny and terrifying and heartfelt all at once. the russian roulette scene changed television
clyde bruckman's final repose (3.04) is also just so txf. darin morgan (the writer) tended to write episodes that were so absurdist they wrapped back around to satirical, but this is far and away my favorite of his because it's not too bonkers. i love coprophages and from outer space especially, but clyde bruckman is a little more grounded, and it manages to be sarcastic and sincere in equal measure. and i love when scully gets to solve the mystery
irresistible (2.13), which is famous for being pretty much the only txf episode where there isn't actually an x-file. and it's SO fucked up. it is hands-down the most fucked up episode of the entire sh- well. besides the episode that they banned from reruns for like a decade for being so fucked up, it's hands-down the most fucked up episode of the entire show
beyond the sea (1.13) and paper hearts (4.10) are thematic sisters so i'm keeping them together. they're both about choosing to move past grief instead of wallowing in it and choosing the future over the past. so what if a criminal says they can give you the answers you've spent your whole life chasing? what matters is that you're at your partner's hospital bedside when he wakes up from an injury, or that you save a little girl's life
right now? probably ice (1.08), because i just rewatched it with my flatmate (who is going through s1 for the first time and is almost as obsessed as i am). it's like if midnight doctor who and the thing had a baby. normally i think this slot would go to duane barry/ascension/one breath (2.05/2.06/2.08) or nisei/731 (3.09/3.10), which are the tightest, tensest episodes relating to the show's overarching mythology
honorable mention goes to elegy (4.22) because the a-plot is a very 90s depiction of neurodivergence and it's not the best-handled thing i've ever seen, but the character showcase of scully in the b-plot gave me fucking brain worms. i cannot stop thinking about it. it's haunting.
also, memento mori (4.14). vince gilligan and gillian anderson you're splitting my therapy bill
ask my top 5/10 anything!!!

Actually ontop of the hair dyed their magic and wearing their colours, what is they’re exact colours for their magic??? Because I think you have a very pacific color shade, is it one shade or is they’re magic have its own palette? If you do have a very certain colour and/or palette could I maybe perhaps have them? So I can do more accurate ideas I’ve had and semi shared, but asked permission for, please? Share if you can do I can like do colour picker or the # for the colours and use that way, if! It’s okay and you have it! If not it’s totally cool.
Btw you have no idea how much I fangirl over you Omg, or the absolute excitement I get seeing your notifications or updates. I squeak like a little school girl. ~💚𝒯𝒽ℯℴ💚
Ok So I whipped these up super fast and I am stating now they are subject to change but they're a good starting point I think. Also if a creator has a colour palette for their skeleton use that. As I said these were made very quickly and I think some need to be a bit brighter. I tried to limit it to four colors but some have five and some are shared between brothers if they have similar color palettes and the skeletons who have the same color palettes are just included in those ones. Also some of these are really similar but there are difference and I've included bone color on them. In saying all that do whatever you want XD I know I won't get upset if a shade is wrong, do what you think looks best. ok here ya go:

The study is now complete and it’s also been peer-reviewed and published in an International Journal. Here’s a short clip of the logic behind the study, with me sitting in my office with piles of mail from participants:
And the results? Here are the NUMBERS our agencies REFUSE to keep any accurate accounting of, let alone disclose if they do have them.
Mind you, these numbers are the NUMERICAL risks of injecting the “old” vaccines, pre-covid. The new jabs are clearly MUCH worse.
“Rare” is a LIE and nothing more. In 2020, 48% of VACCINATED American adults over the age of 18 were ALREADY suffering some form of heart disease, 10% had diabetes, 18% had arthritis, etc. And yet, not a SINGLE (entirely) unvaccinated adult was reported with heart disease, diabetes, or arthritis. Based upon our random sample size, this means that less than 0.6% of entirely unvaccinated adults COULD have any of these conditions.
But we must trust their “science” which doesn’t BOTHER to do any ACCOUNTING of the actual risks of being injected with their “health” products. They’ll either say “It’s rare” or they’ll tell an ever bigger LIE and say, “Vaccines don’t injure people.” Their “science” is a pile of lies, coupled with fraudulent and subjective adjectives, but no valid NUMBERS are ever offered. Once provided with the actual NUMBERS for the risks of indulging in their poisonous injections, we can swiftly come up with our own adjectives to characterize the frequency of these deadly and disabling injuries. “Extremely common” comes to mind. And we’ll probably come up with some pretty salty (and far more appropriate) adjectives as well.
All of this is a “culling.” They started with the “softer kill” injections. Then they moved on to the “hard kill” attack. Now that most people are refusing “boosters” they’re off and running with the starvation portion of their EXTERMINATION agenda for MOST of humanity.

Four months of reading wrap up!
It's fine, I'm a mess, life has been a lot, but I HAVE been reading! I just ... haven't been keeping up with the mini-reviews, but I finally sat down and did them all, so you get them in a dump! February, March, April and May below the cut, all in one fell swoop.
Godspeed.
Feb 2024 Reading Wrap-Up
Total books read: 7  Total pages read: 2,038  Days read: 28/29  Average star rating: 4.14  Bookcase Roulette Books: 2  DNF: 1
Mermaid Inn by Jenny Holiday  ⭐⭐⭐⭐ ⭐  I LOVED this one! It was a Roulette pull to start the month, and within the first 20 pages, I was bullying my friends into reading it too (you’re welcome, Daisy!) The story absolutely captivated me, everything a small-town romance should be. She left town a decade ago, heartbroken over her high school sweetheart. Now she’s back, unwillingly, and he’s the chief of police. I mean, truly, every small-town trope, right down to bickering between the hardware store owner and the drugstore owner. And it. Is. Perfect. There are at least two more in the series, and I WILL be back for them. I can’t say much more without spinning into a detailed breakdown of the plot, but trust me. Go read this one.
The Wakeup Call by Beth O’Leary  ⭐⭐⭐⭐(¾)  Listen. I didn’t set out to read two hotel romances back to back this month. But if Beth O’Leary writes it, and I see it at the local library, I have to find out what it is. And what it is, is delightful! This was laugh out loud funny, just the right amount of emotional, and so so so accurate for hotel work (except that their ceiling cave in was literal, and mine are almost always metaphorical). The only thing I didn’t absolutely love was how heavily it leaned on miscommunication to make the plot stick. If at any point, the two MCs had sat down for even one honest conversation, the whole story would have gone differently. Personally, I can’t stand that level of communication breakdown as a plot device, but everything else was good enough that I’d still absolutely recommend it as a solid read.
Real Men Knit by Kwana Jackson  ⭐⭐⭐(¼)  I ... I wanted to like this one more than I did. It should have been perfect for me. I mean, c’mon; romance novels, knitting, and an author I love? Sign me up. Or, actually. It was fine, I’m not mad at the story or anything. I wanted to finish it, I was interested to know what happened next, and then it was all perfectly fine. It’s cute enough, it has a happy ending, but very little really stood out to me.
In a Holidaze by Christina Lauren  ⭐⭐⭐⭐  Christmas in February! I’ve been excited to read this one for a few months, and finally pulled it off of the shelf. I’m not usually one for time-loop romances or love triangles, but this time loop romance with a love triangle is the exception. It’s fun, it’s funny, it’s festive, I had a blast reading it. What more is there to say?
The Exception to the Rule by Christina Lauren  ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐  I picked this off my Kindle on the criteria of “it’s got to be short,” because I had tickets for an author release party the same night I started it and wanted to make time for the book I was going to get there (more on that later). It was adorable and perfect, and I wanted a full-length novel so badly, but I’m pretty sure it wouldn’t have worked as well if it were that long. It’s an e-mail romance that spans for years, in the slowest slowburn timeline that’s ever flown right by.
Drop, Cover and Hold On by Jasmine Guillory  ⭐⭐⭐(¼)  This one came from the same series of Valentine’s Day shorts as the last book, the same day, still trying to finish up my shift before the book event. It was cute enough, but I was perfectly satisfied with it as a short story, I didn’t feel particularly interested in getting more of the story.
Black Ties and White Lies by Kat Singleton  ⭐⭐⭐ ⭐ (½)  So what happened was that my favorite bookstore hosted an author event from a local romance writer. I’d never heard of her, but I LOVE my local indie, so of course I bought a ticket and went (this review is not about the event, but I will say that she says her grandma is her most loyal reader, even for the smut scenes, and I still haven’t recovered from thinking about MY grandma reading MY smut, even though I’m writing this in May). The release party was for the second book in this series, but of course I had to buy the first one too. I’m not usually a billionaire romance girly, but this one was FANTASTIC. Fun fact: it originally got 3.25 stars, but I’m still thinking about it all these months later, so I had to move it up a little bit.
DNF: A Desirable Residence
March 2024 Reading Wrap-Up
Total books read: 8  Total pages read: 1,926  Days read: 20/31  Average star rating: 4.03  Bookcase Roulette Books: 3
The Rom Con by Devon Daniels  ⭐⭐⭐⭐  I grabbed this one from a library display before I realized it’s the same author as Meet You in the Middle, which was one of my favorite reads last year. It’s super cute! I loved watching Cassidy try to push against the vintage dating tips, even as they worked to keep her and her rival in orbit with each other. The funny parts made me laugh out loud, the heartwarming parts brought a tear to my eye, and in between I just wanted to know what would happen next.
Up in the Air: A Millionaire CEO & Single Mom Romance Novella by Eden Webber  ⭐⭐⭐(¼)  Look. I was at the laundromat, I finished the knitting I had brought and my laundry was still in the dryer. So I ran a quick round of virtual bookcase roulette and it turned up this. I wanted to know how the story ended, so I kept reading, but the characters grated on my nerves a little bit. If you like pushy, overly assertive male LIs, this might be more your speed than it was mine.
Cowboy in Her Classroom by Pam Pantovani  ⭐⭐⭐⭐(½)  This was such a sweet delight to read! I loved the characters, I loved the premise. The kiddo felt so authentic (which is absolutely a pet peeve of mine – kids need to feel like kids, not infants or short adults) and I was genuinely just as invested in her relationship with Presley as I was her dad’s. Absolutely cannot wait for the right mood to reread and enjoy this one all over again!
Make the Bread, Buy the Butter by Jennifer Reese  ⭐⭐⭐⭐  I don’t usually “read” cookbooks, but this one is almost as much personal essay as it is recipes. A Tumblr post pointed me toward the author’s essay about bagels and cream cheese, which got me placing her cookbook on hold at the library. I love how the focus is on the balance between things that are worth making from scratch versus things that are easier/better to just buy yourself (the dichotomy between hotdog and hamburger buns was particularly fascinating). And the author includes a metric for effort with each recipe, not just cost-effectiveness, which excites me as someone who loves to be in a kitchen but is short on free time. I can make the things that are truly worth it, and fit with my schedule, but she reminded me that there’s no shame in buying things at the store either (unlike some other cookbooks I’ve read). Some of the recipes require specialty equipment or ingredients, but there’s an appendix at the back to help with sourcing, There aren’t enough recipes I’d use to justify the space to own a copy, but it’s definitely reframed how I think about the time I spend cooking and preparing food.
The Charm Offensive by Alison Cochrun  ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐  I was stressed, I needed a comfort read, it’s just as good now as it always is, if you haven’t read this book yet you should go do that.
Final Shot by Stacey Lynn  ⭐⭐(½)  How bad can a hockey romance be, really? Especially a friends-to-enemies-to-lovers hockey romance? But this one sure pushed the line. As with most of my least favorite romances, the whole thing would have taken three pages if the MCs had just sat down and had one single conversation about their feelings. And when they did have that conversation, the story ended. For the love of god, talk to each other!
Jingle Ale the Way by Sarah Everly  ⭐⭐⭐⭐  I’ll admit it: I was hustling toward the end of the month and SUPER BUSY so I was looking for something short and sweet. And this fit the bill! I’ll take Christmas vibes all year round, and while it had a little bit of the Little Women hair pin/tie clip energy, it fueled the conflict well enough that I didn’t mind too much.
Just for the Summer by Abby Jimenez  ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐  I scored an ARC (thanks, Facebook reading group!) and had been holding onto it until I had time to enjoy it properly. Which ended up being on a night audit I didn’t want to work, when I could sit down and read the whole thing cover to cover in almost one sitting (I was 30 pages from the end when I got off work, so I went home and read the ending before I went to bed). It’s THAT GOOD. I haven’t read any of her other books, even though this one is third in its series, but I didn’t feel like I was missing any context for anything. There are Easter eggs, I know (again, thanks Facebook), but I could absolutely enjoy the story outside of them. And now I’m waiting for just the right moments to read everything else she’s ever written.
April 2024 Reading Wrap-Up
Total books read: 5  Total pages read: 917  Days read: 18/30  Average star rating: 3.35  Bookcase Roulette Books: 3  DNF: 1
Lizzie Blake’s Best Mistake by Mazey Eddings  ⭐⭐⭐⭐  Those of you playing along at home might remember how much I enjoyed A Brush With Love, so I was super excited to get to the next book in the series! It was a fun read, but a little bit less my speed. Pregnancy trope is never going to be my favorite, and in places I found myself frustrated by how the characters were pushing themselves together because of the baby. That said, Lizzie and Rake were well-written, rounded characters, and I wanted to see them figure it out. I was definitely less invested in this one than I’ve been in other books, so it took a while to get through, but I did enjoy it.
Falling For the Best Man by Ally Decker  ⭐⭐(½)  April was a Kindle-heavy reading month, while I worked toward getting all of my books unpacked in my new house, starting with this shortie that I drew at random. It was ... not for me. When I wasn’t reading it, I wasn’t that curious about what I was missing in the story. The MCs didn’t communicate well enough – it's hard for me to enjoy a book where the entire conflict could be solved by just one adult conversation, and this story would have ended immediately if they had discussed their feelings honestly. But it did pass some time at work, so I guess there’s that.
Hearts on Fire by Christina Berry  ⭐⭐⭐⭐(½)  Oh, this book was DELIGHTFUL! I mean, a small-town, firefighter, cat dad romance novel? What’s not to love? I was invested, I was entertained, I was absolutely along for whatever this story had to offer. It gets into some heavy portrayals of loss, anxiety and PTSD, along with tangential mentions of alcohol abuse, so read at your own risk, but everything is handled with empathy and love. Truly, my biggest complaint is just that the story ended at all.
Lovers at the Museum by Isabel Allende  ⭐⭐(¼)  Listen. They can’t all be winners. And maybe if you like paranormal-type stories more than I do, this might be a better read. As it is, I would have DNF’d if it were more than 25 pages. The story didn’t engage me, and I couldn’t figure out how it was supposed to work. You might like it, but I did not.
Claimed by the Mountain Man by Carly Keene  ⭐⭐⭐(½)  This was fun and cheesy and predictable and who doesn’t love a mountain man falling for the pretty girl who runs the cupcake food truck? I usually end up reading novellas at the end of the month, when I’m busy and trying to squeeze reading time in, but they’re just less exciting for me because the stories have to move so fast, and that was absolutely true here. It felt rushed, but that’s fair for what it is. My personal tastes just lean a little more toward slow burns and/or detailed, drawn out romances. With a couple hundred more pages, it might’ve been a 4 or 5 star.
DNF: 24 Hours in Paris. I read one chapter and I was bored, so I stopped.
May 2024 Reading Wrap-Up
Total books read: 5  Total pages read: 1,490  Days read: 18/30  Average star rating: 4.45  Bookcase Roulette Books: 2  DNF: 2
Kissing Bandit by Margaret Rose  ⭐⭐⭐⭐(¾)  I bought her first book on Indie Bookstore Day last year, and I haven’t stopped thinking about it. So when Margaret Rose was doing a signing at my favorite indie this year, it was a no-brainer. I’d put it off for a bit because I wasn’t sure exactly what it would be about, but I can’t pass up a signed, personalized copy. And I’m SO GLAD I did, because this was fantastic! There’s a perfect balance of the romance between the MC and the LI, and strong friendships between her and the other ladies in town. It’s cute, it’s fluffy, it wasn’t quite as perfect for me as Sink or Sell, but still an absolutely incredible read.
The Burnout by Sophie Kinsella  ⭐⭐⭐⭐ (¾)  I’ve seen this one on shelves quite a bit lately, but hadn’t read it ... mostly because I wasn’t quite ready for the book to read me right back. But I was finally ready (for the book, and some changes in my own life), and I picked up a copy on an impromptu walk to the library near my house. It’s been a MINUTE since I read Sophie Kinsella, but the Shopaholic series are some of the first books I remember reading from the adult side of the library. This one absolutely lived up to my expectations. Her books are so honest feeling, without shying away from character flaws or the hard parts of real life. It was laugh out loud funny, and yes, absolutely did call me out on my own bullshit in a few places.
The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton  ⭐⭐⭐⭐  I read this in middle school – didn't we all – and honestly it hadn’t crossed my mind to reread for years. But the Broadway musical opened recently, and everything I’d seen about it was incredible. I mean, just ... this isn’t a musical review, but y’all have no idea how long it’s been since I listened to a cast album and didn’t want to skip a single track. The week before it came out, I decided to reread the book because I didn’t remember much about the story itself. This is now the second time I’ve revisited something I didn’t love in school and come to really appreciate it as an adult (and the second time that book has been turned into a musical ... stay tuned to see if I reread Gatsby next!). There’s SO MUCH about this book that was lost on me as a 12-year-old, from plot points to the sheer impact it had on me. I hadn’t realized how quickly it all happens: from the drive-in to the church to the rumble and the convenience store, it’s the span of like ... a week. And these characters ... they’re kids. The oldest brother is 20, trying to keep up with 14 and 16-year-old siblings while they figure out lives without their parents on the wrong side of Tulsa. It wasn’t the most gripping story I’ve ever read, but the more and longer I think about it, the more it all sinks in. And yes, the opening/closing line is even better than I remembered it being, in terms of setting up the entire book as the theme.
You, With a View by Jessica Joyce  ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐  This was a blind date with a book from the above-mentioned favorite indie last summer, but I’d been waiting for the perfect time to read it. It’s FANTASTIC, probably top five for the year so far. There’s romance, there’s grief, there’s family real and found (and we all know I LOVE found family), and there’s a cross-country road trip. It’s spicy, delightfully so, funny and heartfelt, and gave me a wonderful escape from a few long days. (and no, they’re not cousins, which was never my working theory, but apparently warrants clarification).
Unfollowed by Megan Phelps-Roper  ⭐⭐⭐(¾)  I added a nonfiction book to my reading goals for the month, and then the month was basically over. So I roulette’d something from my shelf and landed on this. I was interested in it, but a little worried because it’s LONG (and was right to be worried, I finished it at like 9:30 p.m. on the last day of the month, in a final push to hit my goal). Every word was well-selected and thought-provoking, and shined light on a story I thought I knew. It was a pretty far jump from the light and fluffy reading I generally trend toward, and also particularly difficult for me personally having grown up so geographically close to the church. I know the landmarks, I know the streets Megan is talking about, and I know exactly what it looked like to drive by a protest. What I didn’t know, though, was the context surrounding some of them, and I’m really glad I finally made time to get through this one, even though I don’t see myself reading it again.

What are the boys texting styles? (the boys as in all three)
I can imagine Sun texts very proper, grammar n everything. Meanwhile Moon doesn't really care and uses anything that lets him type less... and Eclipse? Mostly emoji's and meme's to the point that sometimes his brothers go "USE YOUR WORDS, WHAT IS IT"
Pretty close, yeah!
I haven't fleshed these out before so what snippets of texts there are might not be entirely accurate, but I'll stick to these in the future <3
Sun is definitely a boomer in regards to texting, he has auto-capitalization on but doesn't even need it, he just does it all manually, anyway. Takes ages to finish a message because he insists on fixing every typo he makes, and adding correct punctuation. Fortunately his brothers have at least clued him in that in texting that kind of no-nonsense style is easily misinterpreted into "I'm angry with you", so he tries to add a few emojis every now and then. Sometimes signs off his messages with the sun emoji (after learning early on that apparently, you don't sign off every message with your name), but otherwise throws in a few of the classics - :) :/ >:( - and Moon and Eclipse still make fun of him. It still softens his messages somewhat, and he's satisfied with that
Moon is much more relaxed. Switches between having autocaps on and off, and goes entire weeks before getting fed up and changing it back. He likes the chill vibes of all lower caps, and very much prefers not having to care about correct capitalization. Gets annoyed when autocorrect fixes brand names, so that's turned off, too, and whether he fixes typos is dependent on the position of the planets in the sky. A roulette game, even. Thinks it's a special form of humor actually, and definitely gets a kick out of "ourple", "woag", "joak", and the like. Tries to be professional in work contact, but in casual chats he's the one who pipes up with a lower case one word reply that just obliterates everyone, and then quietly snickers to himself. Doesn't use many emojis because he's lazy, but steals a few of Eclipse's reaction images to drop at the funniest times
Eclipse is. Well. He's definitely laying it on thick with reaction memes and showing his reaction with emojis - even if technically the laugh cry isn't really possible for him. It's about the vibe! Cringe is dead and he killed it, so he also goes for the beloved classics like UwU, ^w^, ToT, and abbreviations like brb and lol! It's extra funny when Sun misunderstands and asks "What does UwU stand for? Is it also an abbreviation?" and he can simply send a little emoji equivalent and not get an answer back until Sun copes with yet another little smiley face he has to learn. Finds uses for the most obscure emojis, and sometimes throws them in the middle of a sentence just to annoy his brothers. With anyone else he probably wouldn't do that, unless they think it's funny, but he does mostly text Sun and Moon! Has autocaps on, but typos either get fixed by clicking autocorrect or remain in the text forever, he doesn't usually care to fix them. The outcome is a mess of a text that is mostly intelligible, but the 30% that aren't are anyone's guess

The time I wrote gay fanfiction for an English project and got an A
I saw a video earlier today that reminded me of something that happened to me a few years ago, and I figured now was as good a time as any to share it. I know this is the fake story website but please trust me when I say that this is an entirely true story. This title is also 100% accurate, surprisingly, so let me elaborate
This happened when I was in 8th grade, which for context was about 4 years ago when I’m writing this. One of the books we were assigned to read in my English class that year was The Call of the Wild by Jack London. For a brief summary if you weren’t forced to read it (or you were and you forgot what it was about, which is understandable), the book is about this Saint Bernard named Buck who lives a cushy life with his wealthy owner until he is kidnapped and sold off to be a sled dog during the gold rush, where he learns to obey the humans and follow his primal instincts, eventually becoming the leader of the sled dog pack and then becoming fully wild. From what I remember, our class was assigned three projects pertaining to the book; one somewhere in the middle of the book where we had to design a poster for the fight between Buck and Spitz, one at the very end that was just your standard essay about the theme of the book or something like that, and one in-between those that I will be talking about here.
The Call of the Wild is a relatively short book at only 7 chapters. Leading up to this project, we read through every chapter except for the last one. Instead of reading the last chapter right away, we were given a project where we all had to individually write our own conclusion to the book without reading the actual last chapter. I was mildly peeved, because I just wanted to finish the book, but I figured it might be fun. If i remember correctly, there weren’t really any restrictions for what we could or couldn’t do, aside from it obviously needing to be a continuation of the book using the same characters. In the document we were given that explained the project there were some suggestions for things we could include in our chapter, one of which was bringing back previous characters who had died. My favorite character in the book was Sol-leks, a husky on Buck’s sled team with only one eye, and he got killed at the end of chapter 5 when his new incompetent owners lead him over frozen water that breaks under them and causes them to drown. I decided to bring back Sol-leks for my chapter.
Now is where that title comes in. I truly wish I could go back to my 8th grade self and figure out what the hell caused me to take this route with my chapter, because on reflection I cannot figure it out. For whatever reason, likely just for shits and giggles, I decided it would be fun to imply romantic feelings between Buck and Sol-leks. That’s right everyone, in 8th grade I wrote a gay romance subplot between two of the dogs in The Call of the Wild for a graded English assignment. It wasn’t a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it thing either, I had an entire paragraph in there dedicated to how the two spent a lot of time together and got to know each other well and had a special bond that I flat-out said was more than friendship. And I submitted it like that. Where I live, its kind of a roulette of guessing whether someone is homophobic or not, so I wasn’t sure if I might get in trouble for my gay dog story, but I knew if any teacher or faculty member tried to give me shit for it then I would 100% be going to bat for my little Buck x Sol-leks fanfic. Fortunately, I never got in any trouble, and my teacher gave me an A. (if i remember correctly it was a 96 or 97% out of 100) I believe the teacher may have also left comments on it when she graded it, but I don’t remember what they were if there were any. Which leads me to the sad part of this story.
I can’t find the original writing.
I don’t have it saved anywhere, and my school email account I wrote it with is long gone now. Even when I still had access to it, for some reason I was unable to find it in my Google Drive. I couldn’t even find the instruction document or the grading rubric. Not having access to this writing piece is truly one of the worst regrets of my life. I would give almost anything to have it back. I’m genuinely sad I don’t have it anymore. Fortunately, I still remember how it went, so I’ll give you all an abridged version of it here.
For context, in the chapter before this, Buck’s new owner John Thornton had made a bet with a man named Matthewson in a bar that Buck could pull a 1,000 pound sled for 100 yards. Buck succeeded and Thornton won the bet, but Matthewson offered a large sum to buy Buck that Thornton refused.
My chapter began with Buck, Thornton, and Thornton’s other dogs traveling through a wooded area when Buck heard a familiar whimpering. Buck followed the sound to find Sol-leks, cold and alone in the forest. My explanation for how he survived was that he was able to get out of the water and got lost in the woods. Thornton took Sol-leks in to nurse him back to health like he had with Buck, noticing that Sol-leks was one of the other dogs on Buck’s team when Thornton first found him. Over this time when Sol-leks was recovering he and Buck became very close, which is where that previously mentioned paragraph insinuating that they were falling in love comes in. When Sol-leks was healthy again, he joined Thornton’s sled dog team and they continued traveling. However, one night while they were camped outside, Matthewson tracked them down and, still bitter about losing the bet and not being able to buy Buck, planned to steal Buck instead. Buck was captured by Matthewson, but before he could get away, Sol-leks realized he was there trying to steal Buck and attacked him. Buck got free and watched for a moment, thankful that Sol-leks cared so much for him that he would put himself in harm’s way to save him, before Buck joined in on the fight. I don’t remember if they killed Matthewson or just drove him away, but they were able to continue their journey together.
And that’s how it ended. For the most part this story really only exists in my memories, but there are fortunately two things to prove this thing was real and not just a weird fever dream I had that got confused with reality. First is the memories from my friends who also went to middle school with me and remember doing the project themselves. The other one is this page in my sketchbook from 8th grade, in which I drew my own designs of Buck and Sol-leks. The drawing on the bottom was directly based on a scene in my story.
(For some reason its not letting me put the picture in this post, I’m going to post this as-is and reblog it with the picture)
Will I ever revisit this idea again? Maybe. If I have the time someday and the urge strikes me I won’t rule out the potential of me doing something with it. Do I think Buck x Sol-leks is a good ship? I don’t know. I haven’t read the original book in years, so maybe if I went back and read it with fresh eyes I would think differently. Sorry if there are any die-hard The Call of the Wild fans out there who were just scarred by my potentially horrid misinterpretations of these characters.
Also, the song I associated with the ship was The Sharpest Lives by My Chemical Romance.

Danganronpa 3 Future Arc episode 9
Thonks.
Oh boy Monokuma is back.
Can't say I missed him but it's nice to hear his voice again.
I'm sure it doesn't mean anything bad.
I'm so glad he was joking about the filler recap episode because I could not.
Nope.
It is nice getting a summary from Monokuma of all people, a lot has happened.
I appreciate Hiro's faith in his friends.
The dead end 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
We're... In the ocean? Okay so this is a different building to the one they were in at the beginning.
One that's identical to the other one, and ontop of the previous one.. that took a lot of dedication.
Makes sense than why Kyoko knew.
I already made the line about the Russian roulette stuff but... What in the fun house is this...
Kyoko you don't need to call him the vice chairman, any respect this man has should be gone.
But yeah that's suspicious, because he was involved with the construction of the original building.
... Doesn't explain this man's glowing sword because... What?
Gekkogahara is really durable.
"Despair has taken everything from me" nah man that was just you being you.
You were crazy before all of this.
"I shall become Hope."
That title is taken by at least 2 people and they've earned it... You however are very much a Remnant.
So Chisa's forbidden action was Munakata's death?
Very fitting.
Wait... Oh he's gonna turn on Juzo.
Oh man...
Aw Kyoko being like yeah I know Makoto doesn't seem like much but he's one of the strongest people she's ever known.
I love the survivors friendships.
And touching on his optimism, something he always says is the one he's good at.
I'm glad she has hope in him, because he doesn't have it in himself.
... Wait was she about to mention the 5th trial? I'm glad she feels bad about it because it was fucked.
Awww he heard it.
The gangs all together, well all the survivors in the killing game are.
So Byakuya and Hiro broke into the actual building not this one.
Ow, and the difference between how Kyoko describes Makoto and how Makoto currently feels.
Showing just how much this situation is affecting him, just casually says if anything happens to Byakuya it's all his fault.
You know Kyoko is just like 🤨??? What???
I don't think we've ever seen Makoto this... defeated before.
It hurts to see.
I was so concerned she was gonna slap him, but no she's talking him down.
If there's one person who can get through to Makoto, it's Kyoko. They went through the whole first game together.
It's a sweet role reversal where she's using what he gave her to loft him up.
You just know she feels kinda guilty leaving him alone for this long it this is how he feels.
And taking the glove off, literally making herself vulnerable just to show how much he means to her and how much she trusts him.
How much he means to all of them and that he's not alone.
You hear that? That's growth.
Juzo explaining everything and Munakata doesn't care.
I'm glad Juzo is acting like this werid even for Munakata because man is acting weird.
And the admittance that he killed the Director.
Juzo's little... Oh yeah okay, accurate response.
Oh this feels threatening.
Not so much shared ideals as they were blindly falling you to the ends of the earth.
But I think you've gone somewhere that they can't follow.
"Backing you up has been the whole point of my life."
That is so sad.
Oh the stab, the whispered "Kyosuke" I don't even like Juzo but that is an awful way to go.
... No he don't because otherwise why would he ask?
Despair didn't make you kill your... Friend, you killer your friend.
With a glowy sword.
They've complied a list of every dead participants forbidden action.
I forgot that Makoto witnessed the directors death and he left a message for him saying "I entrust the hope of the world to you."
Heavy last words.
And we know he couldn't lie.
Wow you guys are really flippant about the loss of human life. Also yes you were wrong for doing what you did.
"I wouldn't do anything to break your heart, I care about you more than I do myself."
Considering she killed him, that sucks also all of you guys need relationship counselling because this shit is not good.
No... She killed him by giving a sweet mid kiss.
And his forbidden action was putting food in his mouth.
That... That is awful. And the audacity, all this talk of not betraying her and she kills him.
And he kissed her again before he died.
Yeah if I didn't care for Ruruka I really don't now.
I get that the fear of betrayal is so high especially in this game but that does not make this okay nor make me sympathise with her at all.
"Nagei promise whatever happens don't turn your back on hope."
Chills.
I have never been more glad to hear a hope speech in my life.
There goes the time limit.
Oh no Rukura died... Anyway.
... Kyoko... Kyoko why are u not awake.
No...
No they wouldn't...
NOOO!
O FUCK YOU!
Her forbidden action was "passing the fourth time limit with Makoto Naegi still alive"
... That's what they meant when they said someone would die because of him.
FUCK YOU that... Nooo
.Oh that is fucked, that is soo fucked and she knew the whole time.
And still she tried to raise his spirits.
This is so fucked I didn't I thought they were just trying to psyche him out I didn't think... I didn't think it would be embedded into the rules itself.
Fuck.
She knew... The whole time.
This would be devastating for any of them but especially her, see all the reasons above..
Their reaction is just ugh it this wasn't already the worst... Makoto...Asahina...even Ryota.
People who asked me to watch this show... fuck you. I hope you're happy.
Because I am not.
FUCK YOU MUNAKATA!
This isn't the time, nor will it ever be.
So he knew too.
Don't you FUCKING DARE blame him for this.
I don't think he's gonna keep that promise Kyoko...
... Fuck...
My heart is just.. On the floor.
And I know it's not the end yet...

Gambling clubs can be mistaking for first-time guests. They will more often than not be enormous, open rooms loaded up with individuals who appear to know precisely exact thing they're doing, and you get lost. On the off chance that you've just played STS Bet Casino games on your work area or versatile, you presumably don't have the foggiest idea about the customs of putting down wagers at an actual gambling club. Cameras swinging from the roof screen everything you might do, and all the safety officers, pit supervisors, and vendors appear to be doing likewise. To top it all off, there are no signs, declarations, or advisers for illuminate newbies regarding the standards of lead. So we'll do it here. Here are a few straightforward tips to make your most memorable gambling club trip smoother.바카라사이트
Know Before You Go
We realize that not every person knows every one of the standards of the game you'll find at a gambling club, yet that doesn't mean you can't require a couple of moments to plunk down and read a few nuts and bolts. In the club rules, you will track down data on age prerequisites, clothing standard, smoking arrangement, and that's just the beginning! In the wake of perusing the principles, you'll know what's in store when you show up and be ready for your experience!
Nothing bad can be said about posing the vendor an inquiry or two, yet they're not your educators. Different players are attempting to bet, and well disposed players will help. In any case, your smartest option is to stand by and watch a couple of hands of any table game prior to plunking down to play. Like that, you can comprehend the standard procedures we've illustrated in our technique guide, and you can pose inquiries between hands. It makes for a superior environment when you're at last prepared to sit and play. 에볼루션카지노
How to deal with your telephone?
All that we do these days appears to include оur telephones. All things considered, in a gambling club, they believe that you should partake in your #1 game while being lighthearted and telephone free. More often than not, you are not permitted to utilize the telephone while finding a spot at the table. Simply keep it in your pocket since you're not typically permitted to put it on the table all things considered.
Stressed you'll miss a call or text? Increase the volume. Fortunately when nobody is playing on their telephone, everybody is engaged оn playing the game, and that implies less interruptions and less holding up time between hands. Likewise, in the event that you need to leave to reply or settle on a decision, really leave.
Table Specific Etiquette
Table games require some particular decorum that you ought to remember. Prior to finding a spot at a table, make certain to know the base and most extreme wagers for each table, which you can view as on the table. While managing sellers, kindly don't contact or hand them anything. For instance, when you purchase chips at the table, put your cash on the table alongside your player card. The seller then trades the cash for chips.
Taking care of Chips
At a roulette table, the seller will give you chips of an unexpected variety in comparison to every other person. This is to separate your chips from every other person's. Recall your varieties and know where to put your chips accurately to wager. Make sure to inquire as to whether you really want to; like that, you don't lose your bet by placing your chips in some unacceptable spot. 먹튀검증
During a roulette or blackjack hand turn, never move or eliminate chips or contact other players' chips.
Tipping Dealers
Albeit the game depends on likelihood and the vendor can't impact the result of a hand, there are a few unwritten standards about tipping the seller at the gambling club table. These individuals are not generously compensated, they represent hours and need to manage smashed, confused speculators. At the point when you win a major hand or leave the table, the least you can do is toss them something. While the vendors can't impact your hands, they can make your time at the table more charming by making you a server quicker, visiting with you and getting individuals far from you.
Tipping Waitresses
Numerous club offer their players free beverages at the poker tables, yet that doesn't mean you shouldn't tip the server. They needed to stroll this way and that from the bar to ensure their mixed drinks were topped up. At any rate, a beverage or two will keep them returning on a more regular basis, and these staffs earn enough to pay the bills off these tips.

How to Draw and Design Gryphons and Hippogryphs by using photo references of eagles, lions and horses?
Draw everything individually, from multiple angles.
How to draw horses || How I practice anatomy || Gesture drawing
It's like juicing up for a very tasty dream by consuming your favorite genre, characters, settings, etc and hoping your subconscious combines them.
If the final result is your target, and you see your drawing arm as a gun taking aim, then references are your bullets. Fill the chamber with reference unless you want to play roulette.
Your first step in reference gathering is to be specific. Know what you want and stick with it. I searched specifically for African Lion and Gold Eagle. Being specific helps you observe detail more accurately, and it already puts you one step ahead of generic designs.
I'm only going to tackle Lion + Eagle today for simplicity, but you can use this advice to combine two, three, or dozens of animals including horses.
Get your reference, and start practicing. Keep it simple and undetailed, only drawing the essence of the photo, rather than exact position and proportion.
Use action poses to practice! Even though they're more challenging, they will infuse your final result with action as well. Look up things like hunting, fighting, walking, running, landing, etc to get action reference.
Tumblr media
Practice most on the creature you're having the hardest time with. That was Lions, for me. I even did a separate page where I studied the structure of their manes, since I wanted that in my griffin design.
Tumblr media
Remember: you can trace photos as part of study! This is helpful for correcting proportions and anatomy. Make sure you are tracing mass and bones, not outlines.
Tumblr media
Now that you're weapon is loaded with reference, you'll be able to design freehand without copying a photo. This is IDEAL because you won't be slowed down by anatomy. Now what we're here for: Design.
Creature Design Masterpost || Splice Vs Blend
This is going to be yet another visit to Splice vs. Blend technique, so strap in. Here's some guys I drew after I finished studying. No photos needed at this stage because I've eaten them all.
Tumblr media
The most common creature design technique is something I call Splicing. You take pieces of animals and graft them onto each other with stitches. Griffins are notorious for this with their bird talons on the front legs and lion paws on the back. That's a creature that was formed through magic, not evolution. This automatically makes your griffin less believable. And probably a bit awkward in the walking department.
Tumblr media
So here's a new challenge: Blending. Take bits of each creature and put them in a mixer, letting the ingredients land all over the place and amongst each other. What if we had a lion skull, with an extra-thick bird beak in place of the jaws? What if the lion chin was still there in the form of a tuft of fur? Maybe the tear duct from the lion, and the eyelids of bird? Let's give it lion ears with the furrowed brow so typical of raptors.
Tumblr media
It already looks like a new life form, rather than a photoshopped amateur hour of recognizable animals. I could cover it in either feathers or fur and it would still be distinct as a new species. I want the classic lion mane in some form, so I'm taking the shape and turning it into long, fluffy feathers.
Tumblr media
Don't stop there! Try identifying what traits make an eagle and eagle, or a lion a lion, and sticking them between each other.
Tumblr media
Keep combining! Challenge convention! Add and omit parts and pieces to your heart's content.
Tumblr media
Take this practice to all parts of all creatures. Throw new stuff in a blender instead of stitching it together. This especially includes color! You see a lot of spliced markings in novelty griffins, with a specific cat and bird. Artists get stuck on copy-pasting animal patterns because they're afraid the ingredients won't be recognizable, or they're just lost in the sauce of loving tigers they forget to actually have fun with it.
Tumblr media
It's still recognizable as tiger and peacock, but much more compelling, wouldn't you say? Go for something unique rather than staying with what feels "safe." There's a million griffin artists out there, but only one You.

This one is on Ao3 as well. The series is about the 10th Gen plus Tsuyoshi going to a new world to build a life. There's a BNHA and a Pokémon crossover. BNHA is a more Slice of Life Humor while the Pokemon I purely Humor, not quite Crack. Pokemon does have Hibari, though.
Black Sky by Umei no Mei
HPxKHR Starts with FemHP being raised by the Black's before she gets with Xanxus. Fair warning, very long WiP fic. Also, stays with HP for a long time. Comes off with a very Period Piece since Dorea (femHP) was raised by Old People Nobility. Amazing worldbuilding. Everything slots together beautifully, from both fandoms. Also, Dorea is a single mom for a while because of Nono's bitch ass. But she does get to meet Daniella (badass grandma with a crossbow who led the Vongola during WW2, you will adore this character, she hated almost every family decision her son made)! Beautiful communication between Dorea and Xanxus, once they realize there are cultural and personal misunderstandings.
He Deserves Better by AliceVermillion
Cliche twin fic, Tauna runs away and is taken in by the Varia.
Keeping Your Character by Insanity-Red
OC's reincarnation was messed up. She ends up replacing Lambo and is aged up. Humorous, she torments Tsuna by being so blase about it all.
Don't Kiss and Tell by Luki Fanfic
Nana's family has a curse. They swap bodies with anyone they kiss. Kyoko and Tsuna take advantage of this at a young age. Great idea, both get to experience being a different gender (or rather, the expectations for boys and girls).
Generation Cross by Luki Fanfic
Ok, just read all the authors works. I hadn't realized how many of them I had saved. Tsuna dies and somehow wakes up in his mother's body with a 2 yr old him. First step, get a divorce.
Time Tourists by Caticature
Abandoned, but a great idea. Time travel to 1st Gen and they all look like kids. Misunderstandings ensue.
Harry's Housekeeping by Wolven Haven
HP/KHR Mistaken identity at the wrong/right time and place lead to Harry getting a cleaning job in the Mafia. Oh well, Harry's always been good at cleaning. P.S. Harry cleans up murder scenes! Not graphic. Timeline is during the forming of the Arcenbalenco. Skull is Teddy, who is superworried about his oblivious godfather.
Intuition Overdrive by vaporeanxglaceon
After Nono seals Tsuna's Flames, his Intuition goes into overdrive to compensate for the loss, leading to awake but catatonic boy. When Reborn arrives to turn Tsuna into the next boss, he needs to find a way to help Tsuna before anything else can happen. Iemitsu and Nana are parents who are trying their best but don't know what to do to help him. WiP, maybe abandoned. Such sweet Angst, though.
Red String by Lady Hallen
I think this one is on Ao3, too. HP/KHR FemHPxReborn Hyacinth(femHP) and Reborn have a meet cute and gets together. Super good, lots of chapters, WiP. I want to gush about it but I don't want to spoil it.
Fics by sakuradrmonalchemist
Their fics always have so much potential but seem to all be WiPs, keep that in mind. She has so many xover fics. For KHR, there are HP, YYH, Natsumes Book of Friends, BNHA, High School DxD, Sailor Moon, Yu-Gi-Oh, Batman, Tsukihime, Grimm, Kingdom Hearts, fate/stay night, Naruto, One Piece, Card Captor Sakura, Magical Girl Lyrical Nonoha and more!
Igneous by apathyinreverie
HP/KHR Harry/Reborn After Voldemort's defeat, Harry becomes involved in the Mafia, by being kidnapped/sold by his uncle. After a bad choice by others to have Harry recover under the safety of the Blood Wards (which no longer exist, you idiots), Harry's Flames are forcefully awakened and others try to force Flame Bonds on him. Reborn has a mission to find out if a Family knows how to forcefully activate Flames. He comes across a newly awakened, nearly naked, Sky that snap Bonds him. Very good, happens mostly in the HP world after that beginning, with future Arcabalenco popping up. Harry gets to pull off the We Are Not Amused Aura in Kingslys new MoM office with a dumbass Head Auror. It's beautiful.
Fortuna by 1458
In one world, Iemitsu left his family behind in Namimori. This is not that world. (Un)fortunately. Idiot dad Iemitsu who.... attempts to dad but has no clue how. Nana and Tsuna move to Italy with Iemitsu.
Of Organized Crime and Schizophrenia by AshGopal
Naruto/KHR Tsunade dies and expects to go to the Pure Lands. Instead, she's reborn a Mafia heiress who has a voice in her head. At least she's not alone. The Sannin are together once again. PS Ryohei and Mukuro are Sannin, too.
Not Quite Myths by Falia7
Tauna is Mythological Catnip. It starts with a unicorn and gets worse from there. Gokuderas in heaven, Reborn is ready to lose it, Tsuna is willfully ignoring everything. There's also a multinational cult in Tsunas honor.
No Ones Here to Sleep by mokona-pyuh
Naruto/KHR Skull is Gaara!Shukaku doesn't take kindly to being extracted from Gaara and yeets them into another world. Gaara is reborn with a giant Tanuki still hiding in his soul. Crackish.
Dusk to Dawn by reighost
HP/KHR Harry is reborn as Tsuna. Tsuna adpats to his new life and "Magic". Hopefully he can have a normal life. He makes friends with kid!Kyouya. Also Kyouya's family in this is amazing. If I ever write a fic with Kyouyas parents in, I'm going to beg reighost to let me play with them. Also, reighost is Araceil's amazing partner. They used to do a lot together. Dusk to Dawn is also a spinoff of one of Araceil's (deleted :'() fics.
Under Wing by reighost
HP/KHR After Sirius dies, Harry learns that he's not who he thinks. Desperate to escape dark!Dumbledore, he seeks out his birth family, the Hibaris. We get a peek at a few other fandoms on his way home. He's Kyouya's beloved baby brother in this.
Sincerely, Shattered Shards by You Light the Sky
Nana's family has a special gift. They can give pieces of their hearts away. But no one liked Tsuna's heart. Until Reborn came to town. WiP. Made me cry a bit.
The Final Boss by Sakura Hyuuga
Gamer!Tsuna, Accidental GenderBent!Tsuna! Tsuna's life becomes a game after a realistic dream where he hit yes to play. He thought it was just a dream when a prompt opened up saying only the female version was unlocked. When he woke up, it definitely wasn't a dream. She is not amused. Humor, WiP, funny 'omake' bits.
Of Steel, of Iron, of Stone by Seito
Warning:Angst, Terminal Illness. Tsuna claims he can't become Decimo. Reborn finds out why after a disastrous use of the Dying Will Bullet.
Burn Me with Fire by Shadowblayze
HP/KHR. After burning Quirrel to death, he starts dreaming of an angry man trapped in ice. With a mentor, Harry learns how to fly free. Blaise Zabini friendship
Trading Yesterday by Shadowblayze
HP/KHR With sequel, Stealing Tomorrow. Kawahira takes the Sky Pacifier after Luce's death and finds a new Sky to give it to. The remaining Arcobalenco panic and desperately try to find their new Sky. Meanwhile, 8 yr old Harry has been given the keys to his freedom, with one catch. He will die before his 30s.
Song of Truth and Light by TheSocialBookworm
Demigods are rare and feared. Someone so "No-Good" can't be one... right? Drabbles about Tsuna the hidden Demigod.
Xanxus' Babysitter by Starchains
HP/KHR. Harry ends up employed at Vongola Mansion and becomes Xanxus' personal servant. Harry refuses to let another old man's incompetence ruin a child. WiP
Kyoko by Discoabc
SI reborn as Kyoko. This is Not Ideal. Kyoko tries to get away from the future she know is waiting for r her. It goes... hrm. Well, it's certainly a different way to become part of the Underworld.
Oh wow babe thank you for these recs!!

Little continuation to this post.

You found yourself no longer being afraid of him. Sure things started off completely bad, but he redeemed himself through the care and protection he gave you both. And little by little, your son started to warm up to Hongjoong, eventually becoming quite attached to him. Even though you guys hadn't exactly placed a label on your relationship, it was more than clear you were obviously more than friends.
He enjoyed spending time with you and your son. He especially enjoyed taking him out, with your permission of course. It was in one of those times he took him out to eat. While waiting for the food to arrive, your son took out a deck of cards to pass time.
"Hyung! Wanna play poker?" The little boy asked so innocently it made Hongjoong chuckle.
"Do you know how to play?"
Even with the boy's enthusiastic nod, Hongjoong wasn't actually expecting a game of poker. After all, he's a child. But to entertain him, he decided to play along, even pretend to lose just to make him happy.
But Hongjoong was really surprised when not only does the kid indeed know how to play, but actually won the game. Hongjoong just laughed, thinking it was because he wasn't really trying, but another round, and the boy still beat him.
Hongjoong just blinked slowly, trying to face reality: a 5 year old boy actually beat his ass at poker...... yet he couldn't be prouder.
"Not bad at all." Hongjoong ruffled the ball hair.
"Aww is he your son?" The waitress asked when she set down the plates of food in front of them.
Hongjoong looked over at your son, who had a hopeful twinkle in his eyes. Hongjoong smiled before confidently stating:
"Yeah, he's my son."

If you thought Seonghwa wouldn't leave you alone before, now it is 10 times worse. He was always showing up at your house, and you couldn't exactly tell him to leave. One, he's your boss and he's still terrifying, and two, your daughter adores him and is always running to him when he comes.
So you have to constantly put up with him being around, although before it was because you didn't want to get involved with him. Now it was because you were getting too attached to him yourself and you were afraid of that.
That didn't stop Seonghwa. Sooner or later you'd officially be his, but for now, he resigns himself to just helping you with your adorable princess, as he likes to call her.
"What are we going to play today?" Seonghwa asked her, expecting her to take out her dolls or her Candyland board game.
He most definitely was not expecting her to bring out a mini sized roulette wheel to the living room. He looked over at you with a raised eyebrow.
"What? She wanted it and it's not harming anyone." You shrugged.
Seonghwa saw this as an opportunity to get something from you and actually decided to bet: if he won, you'd have to officially go out on a date with him. If your daughter won, he'd buy her anything she wanted, and in this case, she just really wanted ice cream which she'd been craving since she got sick. It was a done deal and Seonghwa thought he'd win. He's played the game so many times in his work, he felt confident.....
But after so many rounds, somehow that tiny girl in front of him seemed to accurately guess the winning number, leaving him stunned. You just laughed as he had no choice but to admit defeat.
"Well it was worth a shot......but a deal's a deal."
Picking up the girl, he kissed her cheek and smiled at her.
"Now let's go get you that ice cream you wanted princess. At least you're willing to go on a date with me."
You couldn't help rolling your eyes at his statement. Maybe one day, you'll say yes.

Seonghwa's words ended up becoming a reality: Yunho and you had been married for over a year now and you were still much in love with him as ever. He was happy and proud to finally call you his wife and to show off his son anywhere he went now.
He especially loved taking him with the other guys and their kids to their weekly game nights. Usually the kids would simply run around and play with each other while they sat around the table and play a round of Blackjack. More than one of the kids got interested one night and the men started to teach them how to play.
"So basically, if you get close to 21 without going over, you win." Yunho explained to his son.
"I wanna play!" The little boy exclaimed enthusiastically.
Seonghwa mixed the cards up and handed them to Yunho. Yunho set up the game and turned to the boy.
"Ready?"
To his surprise, and everyone else's, his son beat him in the game. Nobody was really expecting it since he'd never played it before. Yunho was astonished himself.
"Play another round. I wanna see the outcome!" Wooyoung encouraged them.
And after Seonghwa shuffled the cards again, they took turns flipping the cards over. Yunho thought for sure he was going to win since the boy decided to call stop at 16. But when he flipped his card over, it totaled to 28, meaning he automatically lost. Everyone erupted into laughs.
"You just got owned by your own son." Mingi chuckled.
Yunho wasn't upset though. He was happy that his son won. Seeing his giddy smile when he won made him feel content.
"You know, if it had been someone else, you would have been mad that you lost." Seonghwa said to him once they were cleaning up.
"Yeah, but how can I get mad at him? Not with that sunshine smile he gets." Yunho smiled.
"Yeah that's exactly what I thought....which is why I rigged the cards when I shuffled them." Seonghwa confessed.
Yunho turned to him in shock.
"You what?"
Seonghwa began laughing at Yunho's expression.
"Thank me later." Seonghwa winked at him.
"Wait! How many other games have you rigged?!"

Some things never changed: Wooyoung and Yeosang were still close as ever. After all, they were not only best friends but also brothers in law. And Wooyoung loved coming over to play with his little niece, who was now nearing 5 years old.
She was such a curious little girl. Like her father, she hardly talked, but would always seem to poke around whenever Yeosang and Wooyoung would play a game amongst themselves. She especially was interested when they would play Roulette, she loved watching the wheel spin.
Sensing her curiosity, Wooyoung picked her up and sat her in his lap.
"All right baby girl, wanna help out Uncle Wooyoung? Pick a number."
That's how it ended up going: the little girl would point to a number, not sure what it would do, but for some reason, Wooyoung would end up screaming in victory.
"I'm telling you! This kid has powers or something!" Wooyoung said, holding her up higher and kissing her cheek.
You came in the room just as he was parading her around.
"What in the world are you doing with my daughter Wooyoung?" You asked, knowing your brother was up to one of his shenanigans again.
"Celebrating the fact she helped me beat your husband and now he owes me 500 dollars. Haha!" Wooyoung released his unique hyena laugh.
You turned to look at Yeosang and gave him a questioning gaze.
"Did you just teach our daughter how to gamble?"
Yeosang raised his hand to argue.
"In my defense, it was all Wooyoung's fault."

San felt so proud of his son. Not only did he just beat him at poker, but he never even taught him how to play himself. He simply learned by watching him play with Mingi whenever he came over.
"Do you know what this means Y/N?!" San of course had to tell you about this accomplishment.
"That you're sleeping on the couch for teaching our son to gamble?" You replied, not at all happy with this information.
"It means our son is a genius! Y/N! You and I created a really smart kid! Isn't that amazing! Aren't you proud of him?" He exclaimed.
"Choi San, I'd be proud if he had won a spelling bee, gotten straight A's or won a soccer match, but knowing our son can play poker at 6 years old is somewhat concerning to me."
You crossed your arms over your chest.
"Honestly San, how could you teach him those types of games?"
San gasped.
"Were you not listening? I told you! I didn't have to teach him! He learned himself by watching me and Mingi play!" He repeated himself.
You squinted your eyes at him before walking away from him.
"You're still sleeping on the couch." You said.
San began to whine.
"Oh come on Y/N! It's not that bad!"
"Why not teach him to play monopoly instead? Family friendly games?" You called out from the kitchen.
"Monopoly?! Are you insane?! That devil game destroys relationships!"

Mingi knew that he was screwed the minute he allowed his daughter tag along with him to Yunho's house. But he couldn't say no to her when she was looking at him with those doe eyes and pouting lips.
"I want to go with daddy." She begged, tears threatening to spill out.
So there Mingi went, bringing in a 4 year old to his best friend's house, where the other mafia members were also gathered.
"Stuck with babysitting duty?" Yeosang asked him when he came in, his tiny daughter on one of his arms.
"Don't make me say something in front of her." Mingi warned.
"Ok ok, settle down you guys. And let's try to keep it PG for the princess here." Yunho said, trying to keep the environment safe.
Clearly Jongho and Yeosang didn't understand that since they took advantage of the fact Mingi was occupied in a phone call to teach his daughter the basics of blackjack, which she caught on quick. Mingi came back to the scene and was shocked.
"What the hell are you two doing?!" Mingi screeched.
"Language." Hongjoong reminded him.
"Sweetheart, what are you doing?" Mingi picked her up from Jongho's grasp.
"Playing! Want to play with me?" She pleaded with him.
Mingi thought that one round wouldn't hurt her. They'd play, they'd leave and he'd pretend like this never happened. But it did hurt. It hurt him when his daughter beat him, not once, but 5 times! Because she liked the game so much and kept asking him to play again and again.
"Can we play with mommy when we get home?"
Mingi's heart sank as he realized how you were going to react when you found out he took her to Yunho's house and she might have become a blackjack enthusiast.
"Uh.....sweetie how about we don't tell mommy about this? Hmm?"

"Are you ready to get your butt kicked yet again son?" Wooyoung smirked at his 7 year old son.
"I'll beat you this time old man!" The little boy held up his fist, making Wooyoung chuckle.
Although Wooyoung had wanted a little girl, he loved his son to death. He was his best friend, his playmate, his new partner in crime, and more often than not, it resulted in both of them getting in trouble with you. He was the exact replica of his father, personality wise that is. Physically, he resembled you more.
You were disappointed when you found out Wooyoung had been teaching his son to play, not just poker, but every single card game known to man. But boys will be boys, and your son was just as competitive as his father and vowed that one day he'd beat him in one game.
"Keep dreaming buddy." Wooyoung would usually respond to him.
But the day finally came. Your son beat his own father and mentor in a card game. Wooyoung just stood there for a minute, contemplating if this was reality.
"What the fuck just happened?!" Wooyoung completely forgot that he shouldn't swear in front of his kid. As if he didn't forget almost every day.
"I beat your sorry ass old man!" The kid began running around with joy.
Wooyoung stared at him in disbelief.
"You cheated didn't you?! I demand a rematch you little demon."
Wooyoung began chasing the little boy down. You came in the room, wondering what all the fuss was about. You managed to scoop up your son in your arms.
"What is going on around here?" You demanded to know.
"Boomer here can't accept the fact I kicked his shitty ass." Your son stuck his tongue out at Wooyoung.
You widened your eyes.
"Where on earth did you learn those words?"
Wooyoung looked at your son, silently begging him to blame Mingi or Yunho. But the little boy grinned at him evilly before responding:
"Daddy did of course."
You whipped your head to Wooyoung, who just started laughing nervously.
"Kids say the darnest things these days....right?"

You absolutely refused to at first. But you gave in and started bringing your daughter to work with you because Jongho kept insisting. The other people would often fawn over her cause she was just the most adorable and precious being they've ever seen.
Jongho doted on her the most. People were shocked to see him hold her in his arms, gift her endless presents and overall just show a side of him they'd never seen before. You were surprised yourself. How on earth was this young mafia boss so good with kids?
You hated to admit it, but you actually felt more relaxed than before. Now you knew Jongho would never use your daughter against you and spent time with her because he found her cute. So you had no problem leaving her alone with him at times.
During one of these times, you were busy making several calls to different people and checking certain 'materials' that needed to be looked over to make sure it was what Jongho ordered. Having been satisfied that it was, you went back to the office and found Jongho and your daughter sitting across from each other, cards displayed in front of them.
When Jongho saw you, he smiled.
"Hello there Mrs. Choi." He'd often call you that just to tease you.
"Jongho, I swear if you are teaching my daughter poker or any card game-"
"Relax baby. We're actually just playing speed. I'm not dumb enough to teach a 3 year old girl any sort of those things. That's something Wooyoung or San would do." He interrupted you.
During his conversation with you, he didn't realize the little girl had already finished up all her cards, making her the winner. Jongho looked down at the 5 cards he still had left. He turned to you and frowned.
"See? Now you made me lose."
He sighed and looked at your daughter's smiling face. It was contagious and it made him smile as well.
"But since it's you I don't mind at all." He cooed at her, cupping her cheeks in the process.
He then turned to you.
"You however, it was your fault I lost. You should make it up to me." He said as he lifted your daughter in his arms as if she were only a feather.
You rolled your eyes.
"And how do you want me to make it up to you?"
Jongho smirked at you. Since the beginning, he had been asking you constantly to be his, and this time, it was no different.
"Say yes."

There's a state of emergency in Hungary due to the coronavirus
Back in spring the govt used it to make it impossible for trans people to actually transition EDIT: okay actually the IDs have “gender assigned at birth” instead of sex since then so good luck trans people who have paperwork to do... Also as I understand you cannot change your legal gender and thus your name anymore. Transition has been kind of a Russian roulette with multiple bullets ever since Orban is the PM - changing legal gender has been like a quest to Mount Doom where you have a slim chance to succeed.
a few weeks ago they came up with a law that makes it even harder for same-sex couples to adopt a kid (but it has always been rather impossible)
Now they added some special messed up shit to the constitution (called basic law of Hungary because the govt thinks that's cooler *shrug*)
- a mother is a woman and a father is a man - it's problematic; since spring the IDs have "gender assigned at birth" instead of "sex" so basically the govt gives no shit about someone's previous transition
- Hungary protects children’s right to the gender identity they were born with - define child please! It's still extremely weird to add it to the constitution... (Update: I edited this one with reuters’ translation though it’s not quite accurate but easier to understand... however I must add that the original Hungarian shit is confusing af as well even as a native speaker... it’s something along the lines that Hungary protects children’s right to identify with their gender assigned at birth? idk the whole thing is just.... an absolute mess of a sentence)
- Hungary provides children the right upbringing based on the country's Christian culture and values - excuse me but as far as I know it's not the middle ages anymore??? And how can anyone shamelessly talk about Christian values when all they do is generate hatred??
I'm just so fucking pissed
Hey New Zealand can I move there? (can you actually move to another country if you say ‘hey my homeland is toxic af so can I join you guys instead because you’re so chill?’)
(I'll correct the translation as soon as someone makes a better / official one bc mine is shit but I'm just SO ENRAGED and had to vent somewhere and you probably get the gist of the whole shit)
and lemme just add: after midnight there’s gonna be kind of a lockdown but the rules aren’t set yet (only two more hours until then lol). they have all the time on their hands to come up with fucking important cishet bullshit and make it The Law but they couldn’t fucking come up with a sound plan on how to deal with the covid crisis.... CONGRATS ASSHOLES
EDIT: I forgot to add but they also plan to abolish Equal Treatment Authority! Wanna file a complaint about discrimination? Good luck! EDIT2: they also fucking came up with a law that allows only MARRIED COUPLES to adopt kids (with some exceptions but those are special cases) and honestly? WHAT THE FUCK EDIT3: I’m not gonna update this post any further but... they basically legalized how they steal money (or at least now we can’t question how they use public money since now they can say “oh it’s NOT actually public money so yeah we can use it however we want lmao), they are about to make it a lot more harder for the opposing parties to cooperate during the next elections and... I don’t even know what else! I can’t keep up with this shit tornado they released since they rule by decree thanks to the pandemic...
