I saw a post about how Ostara is considered appropriation of Easter and while I 100% believe that the ancients did celebrate the spring Equinox, I’ve decided that I’m going to celebrate Ostara the whole year round. The entire point of Ostara — from a (Neo)Pagan standpoint — was to celebrate the return of spring and mating season cause all the animals come out of hibernation and yeah. Its a celebration about the renewal life and the lengthening of days and the return of the sun.

But the thing is — unless you live in Alaska or something — the sun returns every day. Every morning it comes up and people and animals mate all year round. So I don’t feel as though it needs a special day tbh.

Why can’t we wake up and thank Sol for being there every day?

And before anyone asks, yes, I did celebrate Ostara this year…..Kinda. I bought Loki some Peeps and made pulled pork on the equinox cause ham is supposed to be the traditional meal. But I’m not gonna purposely appropriate anything from anyone, including Christians.

So I am going to thank Sol every day from now on and, yeah, that’s just my thing. Ostara is year round in my mind.

As we couldn't celebrate Ostara this year, we made a quiet Easter breakfast this weekend instead.

It is still a little cold outside, so I made a nice warm Miso Soup and a peppermint tea. We had a delicious bread with seeds and grains in it, some radish, hard boiled easter eggs from my mom and fresh chives.

For the first time ever (!) I made a yeast braid. It came out good, but there's still place for improvement... ^_^'

Solis joined us for the whole time, making it extra nice <3

This week was especially blessed!

On Monday (to Wednesday), a Persian New Year was observed. 🐟🧄🕯️

On Tuesday, a spring equinox came and Made our days longer. 🌷🐰☀️

Yesterday on Wednesday, the holy month of Ramadan started. Peaceful fasting! ☪️🪬🕋🍬

Happy Ostara, Northern Hemisphere!

Happy Ostara to my fellow witches and practitioners in the Northern Hemisphere! Spring is finally upon us, even if it is still chilly. Either way, may the season treat us well.

I’ve been pretty busy with school. I leave in August out-of-state to move into my dorm so until then I’m wrapping up the last of my prereqs in community college. I bought the ticket just a few days ago and it’s crazy to wrap my head around the fact that it’s happening!

The scenery! The weather! The fact this school was one I wanted to go to since being a freshman in high school! It took a while to get through community college, but I think the me of the past would be happy to finally get here. My spirit companions are really stoked as well, it’s going to be an experience for all of us. They already went ahead to visit and C is already in love, not that I blame her.

There’s a lot to look forward to. New friends, living on my own and making progress towards my dream of being a teacher. But I also look forward to things in terms of how this new location will change my practice. For one, doing more sea witchcraft since I’ll have access to the beach constantly. More access to going on nature walks.

But I’m trying to not let myself get too far ahead and spend more time daydreaming than getting work done. As long as I stay occupied, spring and summer will pass quickly and August will be here in no time!

Instead this most decisive event for the continent and elvenkind appears to be intricately connected to the monoliths. And those, in turn, to Ciri. If the story is true - and Jaskier is convinced it is and that he did not dream it all up - this is a revelation. She will have to ponder on it - a lot. And do more research, yes, definitely, a lot more research. Speak to Geralt and Istredd, too. But not just yet. The mystery of the monoliths has waited for more than a thousand years. It can wait for another day or two. However, there is one more mystery waiting to be solved, one that is lying right next to her, longish brown hair falling into his cornflower blue eyes while he is holding her hand and talking a mile a minute about ... Darn, having been deeply absorbed in her own thoughts, she does not even know what he is talking about. Something about dandelions? Why is Jaskier talking about dandelions?

"Jaskier," she interrupts his flow of words, "Is it true? Are you a spy? For Redanian Intelligence? I simply refuse to believe this."

"I know," he rolls his eyes in his typical Jaskier way, obviously not offended by her sudden change of topic. "Sounds like the worst idea ever. I can hardly believe it myself. The things that happen to you ..." He shakes his head, an expression of bewilderment plastered on his face. "And no, Yen, I wasn't even drunk when I said yes."

"You were sober when you agreed to become a spy for Dijkstra? Have you totally lost your marbles? I know you are a bloody moron sometimes, but this? This is ridiculous! Fuck, Jask, why would you even do it?"

I wanna share this weird thing that happened a couple weeks ago. I bought some birthday cake-flavored Peeps as an Ostara offering for Lokidokes.

Then later that day I got an Email from Domino’s telling me I could get a free pizza😂

Now, yall are free to carry on doubting my trickster boi and accusing me of being a crazy person all you like. But this is significant to me because pizza is a huge comfort food for me and Domino’s is pretty much the only place I order from cause Pizza Hut won’t deliver to my area. And everywhere else is stupid expensive.

Fyi, Domino’s almost always has some type of coupons available if you order online.

So I am claiming that shit as a sign while everyone decides to live trapped in swirling vortex of depression because they lack the open-mindedness, curiosity, and creativity to believe in those types of things. But don’t worry — its not your fault for caving into the mainstream narrative. The same one that told us UFOs do not exist and then released federal files stating the exact opposite.

But please remember that witchcraft is a supplement meant to be used in conjunction with modern medicine. So drink some water, take your meds, and don’t leave your crystals in the sunlight✌🏻❤️
