thinking about verin having a little bit of paladin in him alongside being an echo knight.

his sense of honor and justice being his defining traits. his willingness to walk into a town that’s fighting a fight where a stalemate has been the best case scenario for as long as anyone can remember and saying “we’re going to win this.” him swearing to protect them and refusing to let his conviction be shaken even as the mounting threats weigh on him. his faith in the luxon being more based on ideals than religious belief, and how his commitment to those ideals must be genuine and not just blind faith, given that he can question them enough to understand why essek doesn’t feel the same. him being a “beacon of hope” for the people of bazzoxan, a light cutting through the darkness they’ve grown used to.

thinking about him, in the heat of battle, rushing to the side of a fallen soldier under his command, and a light suddenly reaching out from his hands to touch the soldier, closing their wounds just enough to keep them from fading away. him not knowing where it came from, keeping the powers close to his chest until he needs them most because he knows that people will talk, that they’ll make a big deal of him being “chosen” by the luxon when he doesn’t want to be a chosen one or even know if he believes that’s where they came from, and all he wants is to do his job well and protect the people under his care. thinking that maybe one day he can show them and get the respect and approval he craves, but not until he’s sure it won’t mean being whisked away from people who still need him.

i don’t know, i just think it would be fitting if he had a touch of paladin in him.

kristen - desolation. the church of helio. need i say more. okay i probably need say more but i htink it kind of speaks for itself. being the chosen one for the literal Sun God. fire without flame. on the exact inverse shes also very avatar of the dark coded, rejecting her "destiny" and embracing cassandra, a goddess of night and doubt, that plays well into darkness and the obscuration of facts.

riz - i think riz is the easiest, he's an avatar of the eye and a victim of the lonely. honestly if i were to make a magnus archives fantasy high au he would be the archivist probably. i feel like he's also web touched because of kalina

how they possibly meet : could be both pre bg3 , as yknow , her da is messing about with cazador and she has pacts to make too , her brother is being a little servant and stirring shit . elites are a good way to make a few soul coins . or events of bg3 and put up with a devil who has fled the hells and coming to terms with the ways of the prime material plane while suffering from the maddening dreams of the mad god . the boiling of blood when the weave is called upon , the fighting of that maddness and the dark urge .

how they possibly start the ship : if pre bg3 , ties with the dead three through cyric's blood , a devil sticks a horn in business that isnt hers , only to find that bhaalist is also a child of a god . a study of fear turned to respect turned to lust . if during bg3 , trying to understand the urges of the other , linking to her own madenining dreams , or perhaps be'luh having a distant aquaintance with the victoria pre moonrise , not enough knowlege but being a shy window to it .

possible dynamics : will fully join in on a road to redemption , or support a road to godhood with fear tearing away at her souless heart . perhaps even speak out over it . end in attempts of persuation . they could be both toxic and tender , no unconditional love in this devil's veins , it needs to be taught .

i've never listened to Friends At The Table (though it's on my list now, dnd campaigns podcast wooo!) what would the storyline of the crossover entail? with the HermitCraft characters i'm guessing it's chaotic and interesting 😊

:0!!!! :DDD!!!!!!! if u end up giving it a shot i hope u enjoy it! they dont actually play dnd, they play a bunch of other tabletop games which are all really neat also! (also if u need a suggestion for where to start if/when u get to it, feel free to drop me an ask)

the story follows the typical structure of "group is sent off to do tasks for money, and eventually realise something bigger is going on" so i am largely following the plot in that way, where groups of adventurers are sent out to investigate a series of towers that appear to have some connection to the gods of the world. ajhsjjejhfhjef most of my thoughts about the au are more character based,, so instead of a proper plot summary i can give details and thoughts on where some of the hermits fit into everything so far (while. trying to avoid the big twists revealed in the podcast ig,,?) i also ended up including some sleepybees (sbi + beeduo) in the au but im still not 100% sure on where they fit in (as in i have too many ideas djhdkndnj)

ANYWAY uhhhh some spoilers for the universe im basing this off of, under the cut cos it got long :'D

context/setting:

the specific arc/universe that this au is set in is the one from Seasons in Hieron (SiH) which is their fantasy season! (its. its long,, this arc spans i think. 3 seasons? plus a short interlude season)

the setting was previously a traditional fantasy world that had some sort of great catastrophe (the Erasure) happen, and the current world is after people have rebuilt a new society! its described as "post-fantasy, post-post-apocalyptic" its very fun and subversive and afhdjfbj the worldbuilding is just. real good :>

characters:

im still figuring out where different hermits fit into the au but i am basically taking aspects of various characters from the podcast and splitting roles and traits to hermits, so its all mixed up! also,, there are just. so many hermits,, i have not found places for all of them (not even most of them i dont think) but here is what i have so far:

impulse and zedaph work in the New Archives (a series of huge warehouse-like archives run by the orcs of this world!) impulse is an orc, zed is not! impulse works to retrieve artifacts for the archive, and zed,, hes just kinda there. learning and experimenting with pattern magic (a type of magic done by arranging and rearranging things in specific configurations, often they are obscure and weird things like "27 brown birds in a tree, 5 table legs, 500 buttons, 16 steps to the east" etc.) when the story finds them they are studying a fallen tower in the center of the Mark of the Erasure (a location still showing the effect of the great cataclysm that befell the world)

tango vaguely takes the role of Ephraim, prince of something or rather,,, idk man hes cool and has fire powers, very anime. his powers were a gift from the gods, and he goes on to hv close relations w them! he meets up with impulse and zed later on and become fast friends obviously

joe is an expert in pattern magic, and is on the run from the archives after having stolen a pretty nondescript notebook. its a nice notebook! hes just a human guy. he writes and recites poetry in order to do pattern magic using the notebook!

cleo hails from the city of *Nacre*, where people get multiple chances at life. people from there can get killed but will exist on as zombies, then if they are killed again, they exist as ghosts, and then they pass away fully. she is an undead pirate captain that joe somehow manages to sway over to their side ahjbhfbjf,, she is hunting down the lost prince/king of Nacre.

wels is a pala-din (pal-ah-deen, rather than paladin), a sort of living marble statue that serves one of the gods in the pantheon.

scar is ofc, a wizard! it. it should be noted that wizards dont really exist in this world, people who perform and study magic are mages, not wizards,, "wizard" is kind of a weird term to use sjbdbjhfjjhb scar takes place of The Great Fantasmo in the podcast, and similarly has an invisible assistant! he doesnt seem to remember much of his past...

cubfan works in Velas, a fishing town where the story "begins" he does not enjoy talking to scar, and seems to be sad whenever hes around. perhaps scar reminds him of someone, or perhaps of better times...

tfc hes a priest aagsuijdjhkdgjdkihwhjvd i swear theres a reason for this later,, the role of the npc alyosha is somewhat split between tfc and cub!

others i have thoughts on but im not settled on yet:

im debating having xisuma as part of the pantheon, but if not, he would be a druid so he can shapeshift into animals sjbakjnsnfjb he would take the general role of Fero in the story, but would also be kind of split with evil x, who captures... a certain stubbornness and deepset frustration Fero has in later times.

etho could take the place of Samol, the first god to exist. he is the embodiment of this world, and is kind of isolated and strange wbhshjhbdbhjdjbdkjn,, strange /pos. hes also. kind of dissapearing though... i wonder why :)

while theoratically i could have xisuma as samol cos. yknow. admin. i think the vibes and role just fit etho better

and... if i had etho as samol i think it could be fun to have doc and bdubs as other members of the pantheon, if u go with their dynamic from the start of s7 they even fit the divorced couple vibe two of the gods have /lh /hj (nho pantheon pog..? maybe. theres a total of 5 deities in the pantheon tho...)

im leaning toward either false + stress or maybe gem + pearl pairs for two of the goddesses in the pantheon, but thatd probably depend on if i can find a better place for them ;P

techno and phil take the role of red jack, and techno is a Huge Oni Dude >:] in canon red jack has a cool horse!!! it fits!! hes also. heavily implied to be kinda immortal?? anyway. im torn on this because techno and phil ALSO fit the roles of some of the player characters, with relation to the missing prince/king of Nacre but im still working things out,,

no matter whats up with them, ranboo takes the role of bluejay, redjacks son, meeting up with tubbo and tommy who take the place of benjamin, the son of one of the player characters. tubbo and tommy kind of. get sent to another dimension to keep them safe,,? and live in a lie for many years before they are brought back.

when i first thought about this au, i also thought about the whole. sending child off into fake dimension to live life, and of course. i thought about. grumbot ofc and originally planned to have mumbo or grian take the place of that player character abhdfvnbrvbn but it also implies one or both of them would be paladins (not pala-din! just the normal religious knight) AND have connections to tubbo and tommy which is. funny but ehhhh idk.

👀 I would LOVE to hear more in the way of trans girl Keith headcanons and how it plays into your characterization. I've been really big on agender Keith for a while, but lately I've also toyed with there being a streak of biker girl in there too, or K lowkey counting Joan Jett as a style inspiration for gender reasons. We all bring something a little different to the characters, and Keith gender stuff is just. Good.

aw thank you for asking! my big old masterpost about it is here, but that’s a bit more like a fic than general headcanons. i cant quite explain why ive always hced her this way, but it is pretty key to my overall interpretation; i think a good amount of it is just projecting my own trans feelings. namely in the sense that, yeah, biker girl/joan jett is absolutely the type of vibe that’s always been on my mind for her, like a ‘girl keith’ would really not look hardly different from canon... but that’s a sort of complex thing when youre trans, right? the pressure on us to play by the rules of gender to prove we ‘really are’ or can ever start to be recognized the way we want. being an effeminate trans guy (as i am) or tomboy trans girl (like keith) is really, really difficult. 

and i think that the sort of core questions of keith’s character, “who am i really,” “is it safe to get close to others,” “can anyone understand what i am,” “how can i prove myself,” are like... very trans questions! i wouldn’t say that keith is trans-coded or canonically legible as having a trans narrative, the way i would for pidge, but the sort of... general emotional state? is very much present, for a certain closeted/pre-transition stage especially. trying to reconcile a lot of different ideas and wants within yourself; a certain sort of erratic approach to social relationships (heavily relying on known Safe Persons, anxious avoidance of others); a kind of emotional hyperawareness somehow coexisting with heavy detachment, and the self-flagellation that comes with that state (seen mostly in keith’s vlog, and like, it feels silly to put that much weight on a small additional-content thing, but! it wouldnt have been written like that if it wasnt what we were supposed to be reading into canon!). 

i suppose it’s not necessarily a very happy reading of canon, but, keith did go through a whole lot and... not really get any particular resolution. there wasnt really an endpoint to her apparent ‘forging connections with others’ arc besides, like, ‘still a good team with the other paladins! which was established a long time ago! and the bom keith arc, which shouldve been a point of conflict and development, just kinda ended instead of actually resolving!’ yknow. so hey, not my fault. and i do just generally like the notion of keith getting to happily be someone’s girlfriend, and have girl friends. i think that a lot of things about keith are particularly satisfying to have in a female character-- incredible piloting skill, adhd traits, determination, a certain sort of social awkwardness, a repressed emotionality that isnt the “callous” or “doormat” types, a heroic sense of obligation that’s also clearly self-destructive, a cool jacket, a cool knife... not that it’s a substitute for canon female characters with those qualities, we need them plainly visible, but yknow. it’s neat to think about! all the heavy stuff aside, i just Like keith as a girl, and i wish different-gender trans hcs were more common.

RWBY Musings #64: A Squiggles Meister’s Views on the potential parallels between the RWBY V3 and V6 finales.

I’ve been saying this for a while now but I believe the CRWBY Writers might be gearing us fans up to have the V6 finale pay homage to the epic V3 finale or at least that’s my theory. So if I had to guess the parallels to V3 that might pop up during the V6 finale, here’s what I think they’ll be:

 Grimm Rampage through Vale ------ Grimm Rampage through Argus

During V3, the City of Vale got rampaged by hordes of Grimm including one colossal Grimm Dragon. I have been wondering what the point of the Wall of Argus was alluding to. I still stand by my previous hunch that something is going to come from beyond the wall to rampage the city. Either that’s the case or the one in my next parallel.

Grimm Dragon from Mountain Glenn ----- Grimm Hecatonchire from the Wall of Argus

A bit of a stretch but what if… there’s secretly a Grimm Titan like a Hecatonchire Grimm that’s secretly hidden inside the Wall of Argus. Since Cordo preached about her Atlesian ancestors helping to form Argus, imagine if those same ancestors put Grimm inside the Wall of Argus or built the city around one that’s been dormant for centuries just like the Grimm Dragon.

In the series, Attack on Titan, it was revealed in a later season that there were Titans in the actual walls that were supposed to keep humanity safe from the Titans. Imagine how cool it would be if a Grimm Hecatonchire suddenly immerged from the Wall of Argus in the same fashion as the Grimm Dragon in V3 and similar to its Dragon counterpart, it also brings forth legions of Grimm to prey on the innocent civilians of Argus, forcing the Argus Military to cease their pursuit of our heroes and take immediate charge to protect the citizens of Argus.

Huntsman vs Atlesian Paladins-----Huntsmen vs Atlesian Megazord

In V3, we got all the main huntsmen from different academies working together to defend Beacon against the swarm of corrupted Atlesian Paladins. Now in V6, it seems C10 set up out heroes who, may not be from different academies but represent the diversity of the kingdoms in a sense (minus Vacuo) going toe to toe against Cordo and her Atlesian Megazord.

In V3, we got Weiss summoning part of her Armour Gigas for the first time. Right now, Weiss’s trademark summon is the only thing that can grow to a size big enough to give Cordo’s giant megazord a run for its money provided she has the aura levels to do so. I’m sure if Jaune were to amplify Weiss’ aura, the same way he did with her last season and at the start of V6 with Ren, we could get our first ever giant robot vs giant armoured summon fight in the history of RWBY.

Velvet Weapon Reveal ----- Oscar Weapon Reveal

Need I say more? V3 was the first time we saw Velvet’s weapon and her semblance I think too in action. Who knows? If we play our cards right we might finally see what the Oz-cane can do at its true power because as a Pinehead, I have definitely been wondering what tricks to the Oz-cane Oz was talking about back in V5.

Cinder killed Ozpin ---- Neo kills Oscar

Now before my fellow Pineheads come at me with them pitchforks for daring to even theorize this, let me explain my hunch. What if…on the same level as Adam’s reappearance, Cinder Fall also shows her face in Argus and she targets Ruby as expected. So Cinder overpowers Ruby with Neo’s help and just as Neo is about the deal the final blow to Ruby, Oscar jumps in and takes it for her, right through the heart.

I have been hearing this whole thing about Neo doing something to make the fandom hate her going around for a while and I’ve even had one or two fellow FNDM come to me with the theory of Neo harming Oscar. Well here’s my rendition of that theory. What if…Neo goes in for the kill on Ruby but Oscar daringly jumps infront of Ruby to shield her and takes it. So Oscar is there on the ground on the cusp of death. Maybe to make the situation even more dramatic, he straight up does die in Ruby’s arms, shocking her and the fandom.

Then after Oscar technically dies, instead of going to the afterlife as one would expect or reincarnating, Oscar shockingly winds up in the Realm between Realms where he meets the God of Darkness, similar to how God of Light met with Ozma. To Oscar’s surprise, a reluctant Ozpin is also present. The God of Darkness then offers the two souls something neither could refuse. He offers them the chance to undo what his brother did centuries ago. As it turns out, the whole reincarnation thing was all Light’s idea because he still believed in humanity and that they could change.

His brother felt the opposite but he did want to entertain himself a bit with his brother’s immortal pet. So he offers both Ozpin and Oscar the chance to undo his brother’s curse so that they may return to their normal lives free of having to be revived to continue his brother’s dirty work. 

But he only offers the deed to one. In order to decide who gets to return to the land of the living, God of Darkness forces Oscar and Ozpin to fight each other one and one to see which soul gets revived only. And to Oscar’s surprise, Ozpin actually wants to fight him so that he can finally be free. So the two souls fight. Of course, Oscar wins and gets to go back but this time he’ll be revived by himself as himself. No longer will he have Ozpin’s voice inside of his head. He’ll be his own person again. He’ll be…alone; a comment made by a grief stricken Ozpin.

It’d be interesting if we could get an equivalent of Oscar calling out Ozpin in the same manner Ruby did to Qrow in V6 C10. Oscar scolds Ozpin for his words implying that he’s never been alone. He’s always had his people. His friends and so does Oscar and so long as they accept him and wish to keep fighting, so will he until his dying breath. His last dying breath in his now only life.

The God of Light’s curse was bestowed so that Ozma was never alone during his cycle but Oscar would be revived as himself without Ozpin. He will be the last incarnate. The last life. The last Wizard of Light. So as Ozpin goes to the afterlife, Oscar returns to the real world where he returns as himself to continue the good fight.

This parallel will probably not happen at all. Definitely not. But as always, I wanted to toss it out there just to entertain myself at the possibility, y’know what I mean?

Team JNPR dies with Pyrhha ---- Team JNPR is reborn with Oscar

Ya’ll know I’ve been saying this since the beginning, right? Ya’ll know how much I want that Team JNPR Revival with Oscar replacing Pyrhha right? I feel like these past two episodes are slowly gearing up to have this happen. Though I didn’t particularly enjoy C9, it did give me my biggest indicators of Jaune asking Oscar to join JNR. 

That Pyrhha closure for JNR. Jaune mentioning in his own words how valuable Oscar is to the team. Bruh, at this point, I’m just waiting for this to come. I’m waiting on this conversation.

Cinder killed Pyrhha----Jaune kills Cinder

This one I’m a little iffy about. I know I’ve been waiting for Jaune to have Justice for Pyrhha moment with Cinder but after C9 I don’t think Jaune will be as angry to kill Cinder anymore. I mean, if Cinder turns into a Grimm monster or gets eaten by a Grimm only to fuse with said Grimm making her less human. Then I can see Jaune being the one to deal the final blow on Grimm Cinder. I’ve said this before too. If anyone deserves to kill Cinder, it’s Jaune.

I doubt the Writers will make him kill her as human but…if she turns into a Grimm then it’s a bigger possibility but that’s just me.

Adam vs Blake and Yang ----- Adam vs Blake and Yang The Remix

Duh. Just duh. This doesn’t even need to be on the list because it’s something the season has been alluding to all volume. Plus C10 already showed it happening. The only twist I can think of from this fight is if Adam dying at the end. I know some people like Adam as a character (like EruptionFang) but I really feel the Writers might be setting up for V6 to be Adam’s curtain call.

I can’t see Adam moving forward, not after the focus he’s been given this season. It’ll be interesting if Adam ends up dying in a similar fashion to Gaston from the Beauty and the Beast. Like he tries to stab Blake but ends up missing and falling to his death. Or maybe he ends up caught on the ledge and Blake tries to help him. Like I’m picturing Adam on the ledge with Blake offering him her hand only for Adam to refuse and fall to his death or something. That’s my hunch.

Then after the Adam fight is one and he’s no longer a thorn in their lives, the Bumblebee could finally have their closure with that. Who knows? Maybe they might make Bumblebee have a moment in the V6 finale. Instead of Blake crying over Yang getting hurt, it’s the two smiling at each other after being found safe together. Maybe they might even kiss, who knows? I’m not a Bumblebee shipper but if a kiss somehow happens between these two gals, I won’t be shocked. I can expect Yang to kiss Blake revealing she’s in love with her.

Again, I ship BlackSun but Bumblebee peaks my curiosity particularly with how Yang sees Blake. I’ve always viewed the Bees as being a ship driven by Yang mostly. Ironic since Yang’s motorcycle is also named Bumblebee. Any Bumblebee hints or vibes I’ve gotten throughout the seasons came mostly from Yang. I think Yang might care for Blake in the romantic sense. Blake I’m not sure about.

I don’t know if Bumblebee is in the cards. All I know is that I think the series has kind of dropped one or two hints about Yang’s true feelings that I’m waiting to see addressed in some shape or form in this remix rematch battle. If all the Bees do is hug then cool. But if they kiss, I’m just saying I won’t be shocked. But that’s just me.

 Arkos First Kiss ---- Renora First Kiss

Nothing serious, I just want to see these two kids kiss finally. And what would be great is if Nora and Ren kiss after the group save Argus. The Arkos first kiss was bittersweet because it was Pyrhha’s last chance to let the boy she loves know how she felt about him before she sacrificed herself. A Renora after battle kiss would mean hope and happiness. For Pete’s sake, it’s been six seasons, let these two kiss already you cowards!

So ya because, like, yknow, ghosts aren’t real, of course nobody believed him, buT LITTLE DID THEY KNOW KEITH WAS HAUNTING THE PLACE DUN DUN DUUUUN.

(I honestly think Nika got this idea from thinking: why would Keith have a mullet anyways. whAT IF IT WAS ACTUALLY THE HAIRSTYLE AND HE’S A GHOST FROM THE 80’S :0 - and that’s how IIB was made).

So ya turns out Keith wasn’t just messing with Lance and that the house is haunted by like 100000 other ghosts, except while Keith can actually think like a human being these ghosts are galra and therefore are mindless zombies fun.

THE. STAKES. ARE. SET.

So then Lance keeps accidentally getting himself almost killed by galra and Keith is like ‘who tf are these people, holy shit is that shiro????? Damn he’s got some cute friends. CUTE FRIENDS WHO ARE FNKING IDIOTS LANCE GET AWAY AAAH’.

So that goes on for a couple of chapters, lance sees a picture of keith while shiro was looking through the Nostalgic Photo Album™ and was like damn shiro u got some hot relatives and shiro’s like lance he committed suicide and lance is like ;-; imma just. Welp.

Oh yeah there’s also a Mysterious Box™ in the Basement™ but the Basement™ gives off Bad Vibes™, so lance is like ‘better save that until the first climax whoops’.

Also he hears Keith’s voice so that’s a thing.

Something happens Keith get’s captured I don’t really remember but Lance ends up seeing him so that’s a plus!

I do remember the ACTUAL important scenes like Keith and Lance drawing on each other with marker and being really cute, or that time Lance carries Keith outside in the rain bridal style and I cried.

But then the stupid plot comes and ruins it all!!

I forgot to mention that while this Important Klance Stuff is going on we’re also learning backstory for this house and galra and altea. Basically voltron was a walking lion that looked like my elementary school’s mascot who was like ‘im gonna split into 5 smaller lions, and each of them is going to be a specific colour because im extra like that’.

So ya the mice were paladins and Alfor was too but alfor decided to go and die on everyone and haunted the castle for 10000000 years which eventually became keith’s house.

Keith could see alfor because he’s Special™ so keith and alfor became best buds.

That was all fun and dandy for a while until keith became a Rebellious Teen™ and was like ‘nuuuuu i wanna fight evil ghosts toooo it’s no faaaaiiir’ and Alfor was like NO but keith didnt listen and alfor ended up Double Dying. It’s like death, except For Real.

So now Alfor is dead and Keith (and eventually Lance) have to go and save the house because Haggar is salty about Keith and is probably PMSing.

So after Lance and Keith finally kiss and confess they have to go on this stupid mission and drag the rest of the gang on it.

Also Lance is the reincarnation of a mouse, but that isn’t very important.

Oh yeah and Pidge knew the whole time because they’re Smart™ and Shiro and Keith have a heartfelt reunion and Keith is like ‘sorry i yelled at you that one time’ and Shiro was like ‘nah man u inspired me’.

So they go into their Elements™ and do the lion stuff and save everyone!

Also Keith almost dies and him and matt have some afterlife bonding time before keith is like haha nope and skiddadles back to aliveness to be with lance and they live together in gay bliss for the rest of their lives.

In all those paladins-having-elemental-powers fics Pidge gets to control plant life which is cool and all but forest doesnt consist of just plants. It's an ecosystem n yknow wat else is in ecosystems? Wildlife. Imagine Pidge talking, understanding or even controlling animals. Imagine Pidge and team getting attacked by these ferocious beasts but they end up adopting her. Imagine this Galra commander thinking he got best of voltron only to get killed by space hornets just because she told them to

See the thing is warfare via plants/animals/insects can be WAY MORE EFFECTIVE AND TERRIFYING than any frontal attack, cause there’s nothing that’ll freak the enemy out more than their entire environment turning against them. Hornets attacking the Galra head on is cool, but I imagine it wouldn’t be enough to really deter them. Unless the hornets in question have particularly deadly venom or something, but then I’d imagine the Galra would know about it and/or develop ways to protect themselves

How about coming at them sideways instead. Send a plague of locusts to eat all their food and poison their water. Send mosquitoes carrying a generically engineered virus to infect the Galra upon biting them. Make vines grow out of the ground and tangle around their feet to impede their progress, or encourage the local fauna to yell and squawk and hoot all night through so the Galra get no sleep. Pidge is a certified genius, I think she’d have no trouble figuring out the best way to use her environment for maximum damage (both physical and psychological)

You know what’s also cool? Trees and plants communicating with each other through their roots via fungal networks in the soil (the “wood wide web”). The huge majority (~90%) of all plants on Earth make these connections with fungi through their roots, and those fungi can connect to several plants at a time, creating this web of interconnections through which plants can exchange nutrients and help each other out, warn neighbours about diseases or insects so they can better defend themselves, or even harm/sabotage each other. (If this is giving you James Cameron Avatar vibes that’s cause that’s surprisingly close to what actually happens)

So imagine what Pidge could do if she got her hands on that. Pidge understands networks and communication, her computer mind would easily catch on and figure out how to exploit this system. Which means Pidge could stand on one side of a planet and send instructions to the trees and plants on the other side of the planet and take down Galra troops without ever getting anywhere near them
