Zack groaned when Kim's alarm went off, moving his head off of Jason's arm and burying his face in the pillow.

Kim fumbled for her phone and turned off the alarm, muffling a yawn and sitting up, reaching over Zack to prod at Jason, who groaned at her.

"We have detention," Kim said by way of greeting, agreeing with Jason's string of curses and smiling at his bedhead when he eventually sat up.

"Zack?" Jason asked, reaching for him. "How you feeling?"

Zack just groaned again, keeping his face buried so his voice was muffled.

Kim stood up and walked to her bathroom, returning a few minutes later with some more aspirin.

"Here, Zack, take these. You can sleep through detention and we'll bring lunch, okay?" she said, kneeling on the bed next to him.

Jason stood and changed into his clothes from yesterday, hoping no one at detention noticed, watching Zack take the pills from Kim with his eyes closed, affection warming his heart at how much they trusted each other and at seeing his girlfriend take care of his boyfriend.

"Let's get donuts on the way," he said to Kim, chuckling when Zack proceeded to bury himself in Kim's bed once he'd swallowed the pills.

"Good idea," Kim said, leaning to kiss Zack's forehead before she moved away from the bed to change and get ready to leave.

"Feel better," Jason said to Zack, leaning down to kiss him, too.

Zack appreciated that they cared but he really just wanted to sleep, listening to them moving around before it was finally all quiet and they were gone. He relaxed in his blanket cocoon and slept for another few hours before waking with a yawn, pounding in his head mostly gone.

He carefully stood up and wandered to the bathroom, using it and splashing some water on his face, borrowing a toothbrush and feeling marginally human again. He frowned down at the too-big sweatpants he was wearing, going back to Kim's room and looking around, eventually finding his own clothes.

Too lazy to change, he dug his cell out of the pocket of his jeans and flopped onto the bed again, noting he still had about an hour before the signifs would get out of detention.

So to pass the time, he texted Trini. He let her know he'd crashed at Kim's after maybe getting a little drunk, his best friend somehow easily getting it out of him exactly why he'd felt the need to get drunk in the first place.

He was so caught up in texting with Trini about his mom and all the complicated feelings that came with being her caretaker that he didn't realize how much time had passed until he heard the front door open.

Sending Trini a quick message that his signifs were here and smiling a bit at her emoji eye roll, he sat up just as Jason and Kim walked into the bedroom.

"You're awake, that's good. We brought Chinese," Jason said, moving over with Kim to sit on the bed and start handing out containers.

"How do you feel?" Kim added, sitting and accepting her container.

Zack shrugged. "Little bit of a headache, but otherwise I'm good." He accepted his food, stomach growling.

"Good," Jason said, laughing when Zack's stomach growled, digging in to his own food, the three falling into an easy silence as they ate.

"How was detention?" Zack asked when they were mostly done and just picking at each other's containers.

Kim shrugged. "Detention-like."

Jason snorted, bumping into her.

Zack laughed, glancing between them. "Thanks for last night," he said after a beat.

"Of course, you can always sleep over," Kim said immediately.

Zack nodded, grateful.

"Do you wanna talk about it?" Jason asked softly, studying Zack carefully.

Zack's default was to say no, laugh it off, divert attention, but he hesitated instead, because Trini said that Kim and Jason had been driving her crazy all week wanting news about Zack, trying to give him the space he'd asked for while also worrying themselves into a panic.

"Not... not really," Zack said, watching Jason nod and disappointment cross his face before he could tamp it down, Kim looking away completely, and he sighed.

"Look, it's not that I don't -- I mean, you guys know I trust you, right?" Zack said.

"Of course," Jason said immediately, Kim echoing him. "We just want to be there for you."

"We want to help," Kim added earnestly.

Zack smiled a bit, shaking his head. "I know, and that's kinda why I don't wanna talk about it." At their confused looks, he continued, trying to make his words make sense. "Look, you both are great. Amazing. You're really good people, who try to help everyone that you can, and I know you want to help me with this, too. But you don't... you just don't get it, sometimes."

"And Trini does?" Kim guessed, trying not to sound bitter.

"Yeah," Zack answered bluntly, watching Kim flinch and Jason reach out for her, not wanting to have this conversation but apparently they were, so. "Yeah, she does, mostly. You and Jase, you've always had friends. You've always had your parents, you have whatever you want. You guys have never worried about anything except your school lives. Trini, her family is a bit messed up, so she gets some of it, and she's a loner so she definitely gets the part about it being so hard to just open up to others."

Zack took a breath, shaking his head. "But she doesn't quite get it all, either. None of you understand what it's like to be the person responsible for keeping the roof over your head or food on the table or your mom alive for just another day... I've been taking care of my mom since I was 13. In your life, you want to go out for Chinese, you just go. Your parents give you money and you get what you want and you don't have to worry about having a bed to go home to at night. If I want Chinese, I have to take an extra shift cause we don't get enough money for all the bills and the meds my mom needs as is it, so first shift pays for the roof and the food and the pills, and if I want anything else, I gotta work a double."

"Zack..." Jason tried, reaching for him. "We could help--"

"I don't want your money," Zack said, meeting their eyes. "I can -- I do this myself."

"It's not pity, Zack, it's not, you're our boyfriend, you're our friend, we just want to help," Kim protested.

"I know, Kim, I do. But this is my responsibility. I can't -- if something happens, if we break up, and I've been depending on you... what if I can't get another job, what if my mom suffers because of it? I can't risk that, I can't risk her," Zack said, trying to explain.

"We won't break up," Jason said firmly, in his leader voice, making Zack automatically sit up a little straighter, making it that much easier to believe him. "And even if we did, we wouldn't just abandon you. You were our friend first, and you always will be, regardless if we date."

Zack blew out a slow breath, glancing at Kim. "Damn, we give him so much shit but then he gives a speech like that and it's just..."

"A punch to the gut," Kim finished, smiling a bit.

Jason glanced between them a bit confused and Zack shook his head. "You were made to be a leader, Red."

"I meant what I said," Jason said firmly, earnestly.

"Yeah, I know," Zack said, pressing forward to kiss him, kissing Kim afterwards. "It's just hard to share her, you know? She's all I got, and she's... not doing so good."

"Zack," Kim said, tugging him to them, both of them settling him across their laps, held close.

"Is that why you couldn't go home?" Jason asked softly, hitting the mark straight on, as always.

Zack nodded, closing his eyes and just leaning into them. "Yeah. When she has bad spells like this... the walls just close in on us. She needs me so much but it's just so hard sometimes, I feel so... so helpless in that trailer, I can't stand it."

"You have us," Kim said firmly, squeezing her arm around him.

"We can help... let us help," Jason said. "We'd come be with you whenever you called, you know that."

"And we can have more fun than you can alone with some beer," Kim added.

Zack chuckled, curling closer to them, one hand gripping Jason's shirt, the other on Kim's thigh, leaning into Jason's hand in his hair and Kim's hand rubbing his back.

"You work so hard to take care of her," Jason said. "You take care of all of us, all the time -- you help Billy with his projects and give Trini the shoulder to lean on that she needs, you go on adventures with Kim so that she can show off her happiness... you come with me when I do runs around town just to make sure everyone is okay so that you can make sure I'm okay... you do so much, let us take care of you."

"Seriously," Zack said, voice cracking. "With the speeches. Killing me, Red."

Jason slid his hand from Zack's hair to cup his cheek, meeting his eyes. "I love you."

Zack sucked in a sharp breath, studying Jason's face and smiling shyly. He turned his head when Kim's hand pressed at Jason's on his face.

"I love you, Zack," Kim said, smiling at him.

Zack felt a bit overwhelmed, smiling at both of them. He leaned into Kim, kissing her and pouring as much as he could into it, breaking the kiss so he could turn back to Jason and kiss him just as hard.

"I love you," he said, turning to them both. "I love you."

Jason's grin lit up his face and Kim laughed breathlessly and Zack's heart felt like it was going to burst, the three falling into easy kisses, holding each other.

Stars Hollow is gay: a list

Lorelai Gilmore is bisexual. She makes puns about it all the time. Emily and Richard both have accepted that she’s bi and Emily makes comments about how she has even More options and yet she’s still Not Married.

Rory is a lesbian. She goes through several boyfriends (Dean, Jess, Logan) before realizing the person she really loves is Paris. - They get together and plan to run the world together.

Luke Danes is trans - plaid shirts, layers, lose jeans, super masc. - He never got top surgery, a mixture of not feeling the need, not having the money, and never wanting to take the time off from the diner.

I’m legit in love with Harringrove. I want a fanfic where Billy and Steve adopt Brendon.

Billy and Steve got married in 1989 and were planning to have children in the future. So they did everything in their power to make that happen.

Brendon’s birth parents give him away because they weren’t ready for more children so they give him up

In 1990 they adopted Brendon and found out about his background. Given up and the youngest of five siblings.

They adopted because they were struggling to find a surrogate to carry their baby for them, so they went to a adoption center and found Brendon.

Billy and Steve kept his last name. They thought his last name suited him instead of theirs. They did wanted to change it since they didn’t want his last name to remind him of his past.

They got him into music and started teaching him how to play a lot of instruments. He also taught himself how to do a backflip. He failed but he practiced a lot until he got better.

Billy and Steve bumped into Brendon’s parents. They begged to have their son back so they confronted them and left.

Their son got older and got in a band with his friends. They were named Panic! At The Disco and we’re signed up by Pete Wentz.

His dads were there for him when Ryan and Jon left. But mostly talked to him about how Ryan dumped him because Ryan didn’t want to make their relationship public.

They also had a talk with his mentor. The talk from his mentor and dads helped him out. He went back to making music with Spencer (who saw him as their second son.) and found two new band mates. Dallon and Ian.

Brendon found Dallon annoying but started to fall for him. He couldn’t say anything because Brendon was married and Dallon was too, who was also a dad. He couldn’t do anything.

But they did talk it out and were a thing, which their wives were totally okay with. Dallon’s kids did love him a lot.

Dallon and Brendon had a fight about him leaving the band and breaking up with him. He became depressed again but got over it pretty quickly.

He fired Kenny cause what he read on Twitter. Panic! Became more successful with his new music and his bandmastes.

Brendon has a beautiful wife, two great dads that love him, a mentor that helped him a lot, a great manager that deals with him, amazing fans and friends.

His dads were so proud of him for not giving up on his dreams and making more music with Panic!.

They even more proud when Brendon came out as Pansexual. Caught him in the act when Brendon was having a heated make out session with Dallon and kissing other men before dating Dallon.

The first time they caught Brendon when he and Ryan were in bed cuddling each other, but they were naked. Lucky for them they were covered. Their clothes were on the floor so they knew they were both naked.

Billy and Steve did confronted him about it, but they told him that it’s okay to like guys and to take his time to come out. They told him that they were always love him.

When Brendon introduced Sarah to his dads, they welcomed her with open arms. The more they got to know Sarah, they more they loved her.

They were happy that Brendon found someone that loves him and will spend the rest of his life with him. They were taken back when they found out that Sarah and Breezy were okay with Brendon and Dallon dating. They decided not to say anything. As long as they’re fine and happy.

If both Billy and Steve had their favorite songs from Brendon’s band.

Billy mostly love. But most of all Into The Unknown. They love how everyone put all their power in the music. They even came with him,Sarah, and Zack (who get along well) to the Frozen II premier. Billy wasn’t a fan of Disney movie but he went for Steve since he loves Disney movies, support his son and daughter in law. Also, went because he knew Brendon loves Disney movies as well.

Mostly they love the acceplla version. They were blown away how high Brendon’s voice was in the version.

They were definitely proud of much he had changed and helping others to archive their dreams to become musicians.

They even met Brendon’s other friends who were also in music groups/solo singers. Like Twenty Øne Pilots, Fall Øut Boy, Lil Dicky, Halsey, Taylor Swift, Etc, etc.

Brendon brought in his dads on twitch a few times and showed them how to play fortnite.

Billy and Steve have a son with a voice that sounds louder then an Angel’s voice and a heart bigger then Steve’s. They may be old but they did aged very well.

Eventually, Zack had to go home to check on his mom and Jason had to check in with his parents, the boys kissing Kim goodbye before kissing each other and heading out.

Zack'd changed into his clothes from the night before, running home and checking on his mom. She was sleeping, but the tray of crackers by her bedside was empty and her two glasses of water nearly so, guilt settling heavier in Zack for leaving her alone for so long. At least she'd also managed to take her pills, the little cup for them empty on the tray.

He cleaned up and got her fresh water, making her tea and leaving that for her as well, setting more crackers out along with her nighttime medications.

Only once he was sure she was set did he go to his room to grab fresh clothes, moving to the tiny bathroom to shower quickly and change. He finished up and moved back to his room, laying on his bed and missing Kim's comfy queen mattress, pulling out his phone to watch some vids while he waited for his mom to wake up so he could make her something more substantial than crackers, mentally going over which soups they had left.

He startled at the knock on the door, frowning and pocketing his phone, moving over to the door quickly. He opened it and just stared.

Kim was standing directly in front of the door, at least a dozen shopping bags slung onto each of her arms. Jason was standing just behind her, holding two cases of water, a case of variety tea, and a case of flavored waters.

"We want to help," Kim said firmly, as if she expected him to turn them away.

Zack stared, belatedly noticing a few of his "neighbors" staring as well, probably because Kim and Jason were holding more than was really humanly possible. That realization jolted him into stepping back and waving a hand to get them inside.

Kim smiled at him, entering the trailer and squeezing around him to put bags on the floor of the kitchen, immediately beginning to take items out and start sorting.

Jason entered behind her, standing patiently while Zack closed the door behind him.

"Where do you want these?" Jason asked when Zack didn't move or say anything.

"Um. Right. Closet," he said, moving down the skinny hallway and pulling open a closet door, quickly shoving shoe boxes into a tower in order to make space, Jason setting his load down and helping him make everything fit.

"You guys really didn't have to do this," Zack said a bit helplessly when they were done and standing again, closing the closet door.

Jason put a hand on Zack's shoulder and squeezed. "We love you," he said softly. "We want to take care of you, and this is one way that we can."

Zack blew out a breath and swallowed his pride, nodding. Okay.

Jason squeezed, offering him a small smile before leading the way to the kitchen, where Kim was making piles of everything they'd bought.

There were crackers, but also cookies and pretzels and popcorn and granola bars. At least a dozen different kinds of premade soups and stews lined the counter. Frozen meals of a wide range were stacked into a neat tower, and there were at least three whole rotisserie chickens on the table. There were also bags of fresh veggies and fruits, real ones, which Kim was working to separate into sealable baggies.

"Kim..." Zack said, not sure there'd ever been this much food in his fridge.

"You can freeze a lot of this," Kim said. "And we bought mostly non-perishables, so this should be able to last a bit without you having to skip meals."

"I--"

"Most of this is considered light food, easy on the stomach, but it's high in proteins and calories and vitamins, so it'll be good for your mom," Jason continued. "And the flavored waters should be good for her, too, to keep hydration up -- I drank them after practice all the time."

Zack honestly didn't know what to say, thank you just didn't seem like enough but it was all he had. "Thank you."

Kim and Jason both smiled at him.

Before anyone could say anything else, Zack's mom called out for him. Zack shot his signifs an apologetic glance, moving down the hall to the back of the trailer and going into his mom's room.

"I heard voices," his mom said in Mandarin, struggling to sit up, Zack rushing over to help her.

"My friends are here," Zack said. "I'm sorry if we woke you, I'll tell them to leave."

Zack's mom waved a hand. "No, it's fine. Did you offer them something to drink, eat?"

"No, they uh... they actually brought us some stuff. Food, and drinks," Zack said, flushing a little in embarrassment.

"Zack... your friends must care about you," Zack's mom said softly, embarrassed to need their charity but grateful there were others who were looking out for her son.

"They do," Zack said, meeting her eyes. "They're actually, um, more than friends, we're dating."

"You love them," Zack's mom said, it not a question.

Zack ducked his head, nodding. "Yeah..."

"Well, tell them to come in here, then. I want to meet your girlfriends," his mom said firmly.

Zack rubbed the back of his neck. "Ah, actually, one is a girl. Kim. But the other is a boy, Jason. We are all dating each other."

"Zack... you have always had such a big heart," his mom said, smiling softly at him. "Bring them in."

Zack grinned, relief flooding him, nodding and hurrying back out.

"Uh, my mom's up, and she wants to meet you guys," Zack said, glancing at them both. "She knows that we're dating. Us three, together."

"Is she okay with it?" Kim asked.

Zack nodded. "Yeah, I told you. My mom is the best," he said, smiling softly.

"We'd love to meet her," Jason smiled, following Zack and Kim down the hall.

"Mom? This is Kim, and this is Jason," Zack said, introducing them in Mandarin, moving to sit on the edge of his mom's bed so there was more room for Kim and Jason to stand next to her.

"It's a pleasure to meet you, Zack brags about you a lot," Kim said, smiling.

Zack flushed a bit, translating for his mom.

"It is nice to meet you," Zack's mom said in accented English. "You are all..." she trailed off, looking at Zack for the word.

"Dating?" Zack supplied in Mandarin, watching her nod and repeating the word in English.

"Yes, we are," Jason said, taking Kim's hand and reaching for Zack's, too. "We love him."

Zack's mom smiled, understanding him enough, watching her son squirm a bit. "Good. Zack is a good boy."

"Mom," Zack protested, embarrassed.

"Zack is a good boy," Zack's mom repeated, ignoring him. "You... take care. All together."

"We will, we'll always take care of him," Kim promised, leaning to riffle Zack's hair and laughing at his huff and gentle smack at her hand.

"He takes care of us, too," Jason said, smiling fondly at his slightly-red boyfriend.

"Good," Zack's mom said, able to see clearly how much they loved her son and how much he loved them both in return. "Zack says... they bought food for us? How much?" she directed the questions to Zack in Mandarin.

Zack answered her in Mandarin, explaining the cases of drinks and bags and food, a little shame filling him at needing the help to take care of his mom.

Zack's mom just nodded, knowing Zack didn't have money to pay for what they'd bought, bowing her head instead to Kim and Jason and thanking them in Mandarin.

"She's saying thank you, for the food," Zack explained.

"You don't have to thank us," Jason said. "We want to help, both of you. You're... family."

Kim nodded, reaching out to take Zack's mom's hand gently, smiling.

Zack leaned into Jason as he translated, smiling at his mom, and if both Taylors' had brighter eyes for a moment until tears could be blinked away, no one said anything.

"You will eat with us," Zack's mom said in English, waving her free hand when Jason and Kim tried to protest. "I want to get to know the loves of my son's life."

Zack translated for her, grinning when Kim and Jason blushed a bit and gave in, standing to get chairs for them, to make plates of food, to spend time with his signifs and his mom.

Talk to me about the green ranger!

LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT THE GREEN RANGER

-first off tomi oliver is a demigirl as i’ve stated here and i love them even if they aren’t actually a character yet (they/them or she/her but tomi prefers they)

-plays for the soccer team and is NUTS. they’re a forward and aggressive and probably would be scouted for a college team. weird fascination with dinosaurs and is actually really good at science but not much else.

-the way i’ve kind of come to interpret the green ranger is as a complementary character to each of the other rangers. i know they’re usually the comic relief character or the super serious powerhouse, but those were already kind of divied out (to zack and trini, respectively, or so i’m thinking) so the green ranger kind of becomes an adaptable extra limb that isn’t crazy strong by themsevles but when put with another ranger, it’s an unbeatable combo. 

this is getting crazy long so i’m putting it under a cut lmao my b

-thanks to the original tommy oliver switching colors every few seasons or so, i feel like the green ranger would have that ability to just kind of….do that. like, if something were to happen, they’d be able to momentarily slide into the red ranger role and start the zord morphin’ or take hold of someone else’s weapon and use it until at least the danger has passed or whatever. of course, this makes them kind of unstable in their own morph, but tomi can deal with that as a subplot or whatever in a diff movie

-tomi lives in a kind of shitty apartment with their grandma who’s very old fashioned (she barely even likes tomi wearing anything more revealing than a v neck) and so that’s where tomi gets most of their angst. they’re also really untrusting because of the way a few of their friends treated them when they came out, but tomi finds an understanding and a family in the other rangers that they didn’t know they needed.

-in detention for throwing a snowball at someone’s face that apparently had a rock in it. he deserved it.

-they’re definitely comic relief, and the go to person for a wacky idea because tomi is literally always down. doesn’t matter, tomi’s there and ready. partly responsible for at least three (3) minor explosions. can get out of anything and is super surprised when they finally get caught and stuck in detention.

-okay so in the fic i put that they kissed kim in middle school during spin the bottle at a party and i think this is so funny. tomi and kim and jason all kind of ran in the same circles in middle school/early high school years even if they weren’t the best of friends because they’re all sports stars/dating sports stars. the bottle is spun and it lands on tomi and kim is freakin’ out and finally somebody shoves the two girls onto the same couch and kim is still freakin out so tomi just. kisses her. and it’s actually super nice?? but tomi is a GIRL and kim DOESNT LIKE GIRLS (yet) but she couldn’t forget about it (until she met trini of course and then it all made sense) so tomi and kim kind of bond over awkward first kisses and are sassmasters when it comes to dealing with the dumb girls at school. squad.

-trini and tomi would start out kind of rocky tbh because of course trini can pick up on tomi’s easy chemistry with kim (WITH ALL OF THEM) and it makes her insecure/jealous. then they end up having a venting sesh immediately following a crazy practice fight and tomi’s like “omg NO she’s all yours man it’s not like that” and trini’s kind of like “oh okay my b” and after that they both laugh and then they just fight all the time together because tomi’s the only one who matches trini’s no mercy all or nothing fighting style.

-tomi and billy are like actually best friends. despite how crazy and intense they are, tomi’s super patient, and works really well with billy. it’s not like a “oh he’s special i need to go slow” so much as a “oh man that makes sense THIS is how you talk man i got this” and they’re determined to be as accommodating as possible (because they know what it feels like to have people ignore your feelings and push you aside because you’re different). billy is the accomplice in the three (3) minor explosions. zach was there for one. tomi gets out of detention and ends up immediately back in there after the third one. tomi is also determined to introduce 80′s pop to billy for no reason other than “i feel like he’d really like ABBA”

-tomi and jason did NOT get along when they were younger. tomi was friends with a few of the more asshole football players that jason tried to avoid and so they never talked. once they’re both rangers jason realizes it was never really them that was the asshole, just their friends, and tomi realizes that jason’s not the stuck up golden boy they thought he was. they lowkey kind of idolize him because he’s so confident and they become the best of friends. jason’s there for them to cry on when they finally confess about disappointing their grandma (because he knows he knows what that feels like) and they’re there when jason admits he’s not confident he’s actually scared like 98% of the time that he’s doing something wrong. they kind of ground each other and keep each other honest and level headed and tomi’s pretty much vice captain of the cool kids club.

-they’re both nuts and they’re partners in crime. zack is the last person tomi trusts because he seems so flighty but after they finally get to know them tomi’s immediately like “okay time to confess all my deepest darkest secrets” and right after zack’s like “cool okay date me”. they’re SUPER supportive of each other and are the dynamic duo from hell. cannot be beat in a fight or in air hockey or a trivia challenge. his mom loves tomi and tomi’s slowly learning mandarin in order to speak to her better. they go on late night runs and watch shitty movies and just generally kick ass.

-tomi sees through everyone being dumb teenagers and is the one who’s shouting “holy mother of god MAKE OUT ALREADY” while zack cackles in the backgorund

-their armor is vague. so vague. boy? girl? nope, just a dragon. ESPECIALLY WITH THE GOLDEN ARMOR ON IT LET ME L I V E tomi would fuckin love that they get golden arm bands. (”gee tomi how come you get TWO cool armor pieces?”  “because i’m a fucking champion”)

"Zack, this was supposed to be a study date," Jason laughed, shoving him away.

Zack grinned, homework forgotten, reaching out for Jason again, managing to run his fingers down his side and being rewarded with another adorable laugh.

"I am studying!" Zack protested.

Jason slapped at his hands. "You should study for class, not me!"

Zack just grinned and pounced, knocking Jason flat on his back on the floor, shoving his hands under his shirt and tickling him.

"Whatcha gonna do about it, bossman?" Zack teased, laughing and trying to keep Jason pinned.

"Your mom--" Jason gasped out in protest, squirming on Zack's living room floor, trying to get away from his clever hands.

"Laughter is the best medicine!" Zack said, doubling his attack.

Jason had tears in his eyes and his chest ached because he couldn't breathe, finally managing to slide his own hand under Zack's shirt and run his fingertips down his side, scrambling backwards when Zack jerked and let out a loud laugh.

The pair sat on the floor panting and eying each other, and Jason really didn't like the look in Zack's eyes.

"Zack..." he said warningly, putting a hand up. "We'll break your house!"

Zack actually seemed to be considering it, so Jason stood slowly, inching towards the doorway.

Zack stood as well, crazy grin on his face, eyes twinkling.

"Race you to the cliff!" Jason yelled before bolting, dashing to the door and throwing it open, jumping to the ground instead of using the stairs and racing to the mountain and the cliff that overlooked the water entrance to the ship.

Zack was laughing and right on his heels, the pair pouring on the speed once they were safely out of the trailer park.

Jason laughed, feeling so full of happiness he could burst, racing to the top and kicking out at Zack when he got close.

"Cheater!" Zack laughed, kicking back.

They made it to the top together, Zack tackling Jason to the ground, the pair rolling around a bit until they settled with Zack on top of Jason, both of them still laughing.

"No one ever believes me that you fight dirty!" Zack complained, grinning down at him.

Jason grinned back, putting his hands beneath his head as if he was relaxing as intended all along. "That's because you're the incorrigible one of the group, not me!"

"Ooh, someone's been studying Billy's SAT words," Zack teased.

Jason rolled his eyes. "You should come to more of our study dates," he said, no pressure to his words though they all were a bit worried about Zack's ability to graduate with them.

"Studying is not a date," Zack said with an eye roll of his own, settling his weight on Jason's stomach and leaning down to kiss him.

Jason closed his eyes, hands slipping up to grip Zack's shoulders as they kissed.

Zack kissed the way he lived, fast and reckless. His mouth was insistent and demanding and playful all at once, and Jason was helpless to stop him, just along for the ride.

Being with Zack was like having your feet glued to the side of speeding train; sometimes it made his heart race and adrenaline surge through him and made his feel alive. Other times, though, he felt a little hopelessly lost, Zack pushing towards a goal Jason couldn't ever seem to reach, falling out of sync with him.

"Zack," Jason said, turning his head to break the kiss, not that that stopped Zack, who just moved to kiss at his neck instead.

"Zack -- jesus, no hickeys! -- we're outside, c'mon," Jason said, trying to push Zack up and off him.

Zack pulled back with a grin. "There's no one up here, relax," he said, leaning down to try to suck Jason's tongue out of his mouth, or at least that's what it felt like.

"Zack," Jason protested again, panting when he managed to turn his head.

"Live a little. Let me blow you," Zack said, moving his body backwards along Jason's.

"No," Jason said, heart racing with sudden panic, jerking up to sit, displacing Zack, who just raised an eyebrow at him.

"We're outside," he protested again, knowing he was blushing a bit, hoping Zack bought the excuse.

Zack grinned, but it was more fond than anything. "Prude," he said, but it didn't sound mean, it was more affectionate, and instead of pushing for more Zack settled himself in Jason's lap for more making out.

Jason relaxed a little, letting Zack go back to making out with him, holding him on his lap. He waited for what seemed like forever but was probably only ten minutes before he finally pulled back, lips feeling swollen and definitely able to feel how into it Zack was getting, shifting them so there was some space between them.

"I'm hungry," he said, smiling at Zack's laugh. "Race you to Krispy Kreme? Loser pays."

Zack laughed and shook his head, standing and helping Jason up and then taking off, yelling that Jason would be buying him a variety dozen. Jason didn't even care, just glad to have been able to keep Zack happy, running after him but at a slightly slower pace, letting him win.

Thoughts on Power Rangers (2017)...

I wasn’t tearing up in the theatre- shut up, it was dark!

I was a huge Power Ranger fan as a kid.  And because of this movie I’m thinking of reviving my career goal from when I was 8 and becoming a power ranger.  Apparently you can train to become a martial arts master in a week and a half, so it’s a possibility.  

Ok trying not to give up any major spoilers.

The first scene is very reminiscent of the Joseph Kahn Power Ranger short that came out a couple years ago. You learn a little about Zordon’s past and his history with Rita.  

When we first start meeting the soon to be rangers it’s very breakfast club, and there’s a scene where the kids are getting to know each other around a fire and they tell their deepest secrets.  Everyone is talking about how Trini has “girlfriend problems” making her the first on screen queer superhero, but no one is talking about Billy being the first Autism spectrum on screen superhero. It’s not a big deal, Billy says to Jason, “Oh, just so you know I’m on the spectrum.” Putting the Breakfast club comparisons aside the kids are actually teenagers with attitude.  The original rangers were very clean cut and nice; this set, they get in trouble, they mess up, they’re kids.  

You don’t see much of much of the rangers’ personal tech.  One fight scene you see Jason’s sword which looks like an energy weapon, something like Psylocke’s from X-men.  

Elizabeth Banks’s Rita fits so well in this universe.  I was worried she was going to be overly sexualized, she is not.  She does say “make my monster grow.”  Her puddies are way more intimidating.

Bill Hader, you just voice robots from now on.  We are all cool with that. 

Why don’t we see Billy get in trouble about the van?

Is there going to be an explanation on why Zack’s last name is Taylor?  I know that was the original’s name, but since the actor is Asian maybe change the surname.  A thought, his father was adopted.  

They were pushing the sequel, hard, but I really want one for this.

So I loved this and hope the next installment will be just as good.

Also, why doesn’t anyone know CPR?

Just some random headcannon:  Trini identifies as queer.  Billy is ace heteroromantic.  Zack is bisexual.  There was a moment when I thought he was going to kiss Jason.  Just as a joke to kinda playing up his smartassness, but later you find out he has an attraction to guys.   Jason is heteroflex.  Kimberly is open and finding herself and Tommy Oliver will be an awesome pansexual transgirl.

My Spoiler Filled Thoughts on the New Power Rangers Film

I have so many feelings about this movie, but I’m going to mention so many spoilers so all of that is under the cut.

So I saw Power Rangers 2 days ago and I just need somewhere to let all my thoughts out. Let me preface this by saying that Power Rangers is one of the first shows I remember watching as a child. For a long long time we didn't have cable at my house (my parents didn't want me watching mind poisoning cartoons like Ed Edd 'n Eddy) so the only place I could really watch Power Rangers was at my grandparents house. That's fine, I was literally there everyday until I was 5 anyways. In Kindergarten I had to go into a morning care program where there were a small collection of video games and board games to play with. One of the board games was a Power Rangers game. The game had you choose which Ranger you would play as and it had their names on it. My name is Kim, the Pink Ranger was Kim, pink is my favorite color. This was the only time I could get exactly what I wanted in school because kids would be like "well does it have your name on it?" As a matter of fact it does fucker. I was even the Pink Ranger for halloween that year. There are other things I remember about my time with power rangers (like how when I marathoned In Space with my mom and my cousin I threw a tantrum when Karone didn't become the purple ranger and I ended up stomping in dog vomit) but none of those things really relate to the Rangers portrayed in the film, so let's move on. I think the first thing I was extremely pleased about can be summed up in a line from Alpha 5 "Different colors, different kids, different colored kids." This movie is everything I've been hoping for in remakes, it's oozing in diversity and it didn't stick to how things were set up in the original show. We have a white kid, a half Indian girl (Naomi Scott did a wonderful job as my favorite Kim), a Latina, a Chinese-Canadian, and an African American. But to top it all off the Asian character and the Black character weren't the yellow ranger and black ranger respectively. They were more than just their skin colors. Billy is never called "too white" for how he acts, on top of it not only does he exhibit autistic like symptoms but he even says he's on the spectrum. A black autistic superhero, I'm so glad. Zack is bilingual, and we only ever see him speaking in Mandarin with his mother, no English in their scenes, I love it. I haven't been this thrilled about another language since I saw Assassins Creed in theaters. (Which as bad as the film was, props to having everything entirely in Spanish in the flashbacks. I loved that.) I did have some complaints. I went into the movie thinking that Trini was going to be a lesbian. What I got was Zack asking her "boyfriend troubles?" and her sarcastically saying "yea boyfriend troubles." His eyes grow wide and he says "girlfriend troubles?" She's silent. I can see they were trying to show that she's struggling with her sexuality, Trini realized that she's not straight but she's not sure if she's gay either. I cried myself to sleep for years back when the teachings I got at Catholic school and Church had me thinking that I was horrible and sick if it turned out I was a lesbian, but as much as I liked guys they never interested me as much as a woman's cleavage or the scent of perfume in a girl's hair. Of course now I realize I'm pansexual and I'm much more happy and secure. But what bothers me is that right after all of that Trini goes onto talk about her family issues and says "they like labels." Hold up "labels"?! LABELS?! No, you did not. Come on guys you already said Billy was on the spectrum, why are you backtracking to the stereotypical "labels" shit that they do with bisexual people on tv instead of just saying they're bi?! Ugh. Part of me thinks that maybe, just maybe they thought saying "labels" was the same thing as saying "I'm on the spectrum" instead of having Billy straight up say "I'm autistic." Maybe they thought it could be inferred and people would be happy? But they really fucked up there. I wish they had shown us more of Trini's mom too, the way she talked to Trini, asking rapid fire questions and slamming her hands down on the table while screaming "say something" just made me think about how maybe her mom is abusive to her. She does give Trini a cup to pee in when Trini makes a comment about how she thinks she's a super hero and that's kind of funny, but coupled with what she had done moments before...I think at the very least she and her mom have an emotionally abusive relationship, but the fact that questions weren't asked about the holes in the wall Rita left behind while beating the shit out of Trini...makes me think its progressed past that. One thing I noticed in the film is that we know that Trini and Zack go to school with Kim, Billy, and Jason; yet we never actually see them in school with the other 3. A lot of scenes are in detention and Trini and Zack aren't there until the very end of the film, but I feel like Trini and Zack never get as much development as the other 3. I mean we know their names are Kimberly Hart, Billy, Cranston, and Jason Scott, but we never once hear Zack Taylor or Trini Kawn. They're just Zack and Trini. I'm guessing Taylor and Kwan aren't even their last names now with the the ethnicity change. I've read a couple interviews from the people who worked on the film and I know a lot of the deleted scenes involve Zack's back story. Even looking at the trailers I know they deleted the scene of Zack jumping over a house, Trini at her deface locker with the things "loser" "ugly" and "die" written on there, and a scene of Zack morphed and running around at night. So I hope the dvd is either an extended cut or includes these scenes. I'd like to make some comments specifically on Kim, I mean she's my love so I kind of have to. I thought that Kim's switch from gymnastics to cheer leading was arbitrary, but it still made sense so I won't complain. When she passes her former friends in the final fight and they get hit with rubble she says "serves you right" and then Billy's bully hops in the car to shield himself. This implies that Kim's friends are on the same level as the bully. But all they did was cut Kim out because she sent her friend's nude to her boyfriend and made fun of her. That's...extremely reasonable? Kim was actually really shitty there so they didn't exactly deserve anything. However, if we go back to how they cut out Trini's locker scene, a part of me wonders if they're the ones that are picking on Trini. Trini seems to have an unexplained amount of hostility towards Kim that I don't think can just be explained by Kim not knowing Trini well after a year of her attending the school. It would make sense, even though they cut Kim out for a good reason, they seem to have mean girl tendencies and I almost think they are the ones making Trini's school life hell. Also though, I'm not a popular person and never have been. Super popular girls in a bathroom stall together and then falling out giggling in a flirty way? A popular girl sending a nude to a friend in confidence? That doesn't make sense to me. Is Kim's friend bi? Did she send Kim the nude hitting on her? Was she making out with their other friend in the bathroom? These are all thoughts that come to mind that I feel weren't explained. I mean I've seen girls come out of stalls together giggling like that, but that was in a Barnes and Noble bathroom where I hid for the entire time they were having sex. I couldn't leave because it was embarrassing but it wasn't fun to sit there and listen either. Another thing that they cut from the film, which I'm actually glad they did, was the Jason and Kim romance. It's still partially there, you can see it, but without the kiss and any sort of declaration of feelings it can also be read as just close flirty friends. I hated the idea of a romance happening between them in the movie. I was so against it, so when they cut the kiss out of the film I was actually really glad. Now if they have Kim be with Tommy in the second film, hopefully there won't be a love triangle there. I don't really ship Kim with Jason or Tommy, I'd be fine if they cut the romance entirely, but she's bound to be with one of them at some point. We know that Tommy is coming because of the lovely mid credits scene, a zoom in on a green jacket while the teacher in charge of detention calls for "Tommy Oliver" who is not present. I hope, hope they do something with Tommy's ethnicity too. I would love if he was Native American or something like that. In all honesty I was hoping that maybe we'd get a female green ranger, I mean in the scene at the very beginning we see Rita in the full green ranger armor so we do technically get a green ranger, and she's in the corrupted version of the armor for most of the film. But I was hoping that maybe they would make Tommy a girl so the main green ranger would also be female? But Rita as female green ranger in the past is good enough for me..for now. Overall I loved the film for what it was, I am bitter there wasn't more character development for Trini and Zack, but I'm glad with how it turned out. I think one of my favorite scenes was early on in the film, after they first got their power coins and they were running away from the mine. I liked how all 5 of them ended up in the car together to try to escape. The whole scene just came off as so pure and I loved the way everyone moved around during it. Yknow right up until they were hit by the train and almost died. I guess if I had one last question to ask about the film it would be: what the fuck did Trini do to get put in detention at the end of the film? Jason is there because he broke into the rival high school to put a stolen bull in there, Kim is there because she sent her boyfriend a nude of one of her friends and then punched his teeth out, Billy is there because he blew up his lunchbox, and we can infer that Zack is there because he skipped so much school taking care of his mother/finding a way to cope with the idea that she might eventually die that he probably has to be there every weekend in order to graduate. But what did Trini do? She goes to school, does her homework, and flies relatively under the radar from what she told us, so why would she end up there?
