Bite in the park Draculaura. I painted her earrings black and pastel pink, gave her Day Out Drac’s necklace, a coat from Shein, and swapped one of her shoes with DO Drac and added pastel pink paint. I liked that this Drac has more light pink than hot pink compared to other g3 Dracs so I wanted to lean into that.

Unfortunately this pink paint isn’t the same brand as the rest of my paints and it’s not as good or easy to apply. (Don’t buy paint from Walmart i guess.) I still think the shoes came out ok despite that though.

The council was not very helpful. And by council he meant his ward and young cousin he had gone to for an opinion on what to buy for Valentine's Day.

Crowley sat on the living room floor of Ramshackle, his laptop open in front of him on the coffee table,several tabs open to various shopping websites. His coat and hat tossed aside on the nearby chair. He wishes he was better at gift giving. He had known Clara for years, getting her a gift should have been easier than this.

Dreary and Isabelle also sat on the floor, just as perplexed, eating the snacks he brought to bribe them into helping him.

“What about shoes?” Isabelle suggested through a mouth half filled with candy, “She always has the best shoes.”

“ Yes, but what kind?” That had been his first thought. “She buys every pair she wants from all her favorite brands. Everytime I peak at her wishlist it's seems to be after she's already bought them.”

“You mentioned she likes clothes,” Dreary said, “Maybe that? Or accessories, like a handbag.”

“Similar problem,” Dire said as he looked through the tabs of all her favorite shops. There was very few things Clara did not possess. If she didn't, it was not her style at all. He had known her long enough to tell her taste at a glance and somehow that made it all the more difficult to find something just right.

“What do you normally do for Valentine's anyways?” The prefect asked.

“A standard card, and flowers she likes,” Crowley replied, thinking of all the years past. They had been standard gifts, and he never forgot a year. “But I want to do something different this year, even if it's a small gift.”

“But why?” Dreary asked, leaning forward with her chin resting in her hands. Isabelle leaned forward as well. “What changed?”

Suddenly the Headmage felt coming to Ramshackle was a mistake as both girls looked at him expectantly for an answer. He cleared his throat and tried to play it off. “No reason. Just felt doing something different to show my appreciation for my fellow Headmage.”

“Uh huh. Now what's that real reason?” Isabelle replied, clearly not buying a word of it.

“It's ok, Dire. You can tell us.” Dreary said softly.

Crowley knew they would not leave him alone now. He could already picture them in his office pestering to tell. “I just… Want to make it special this year. Nothing big has happened to warrant it I suppose. I simply want to give her something she deserves for a change.”

“Translation: You like her and want to actually shoot your shot.” Isabelle said.

“Not how I would have put it, but in a manner of speaking, yes.”

Dreary seemed excited at this development. “That's sweet! I think this will go well.”

“Before you get your hopes up, I need a gift.”

“Ok well what does she like besides fashion?” Isabelle asked as she grabbed a piece of paper and a pencil. “You might be able to narrow it down more if you just make a list.”

“Besides clothing and shoes, she has one of the biggest sweet tooths I think I've ever seen. Especially for pumpkin flavored treats. Pie, coffee, you name it. It's one of the few things she refuses to share. She loves pastel colors. If it comes in a soft pink or blue, she'll take it everytime. Oh, she loves Romance movies and novels. She always insists she doesn't cry at them, but the happy endings always get to her-”

Dreary and Isabelle glanced at each other as Dire rambled on about Headmage Cristalería.

“-and don't even get me started on her and the autumn time-”

“Dire!” Dreary interrupted. “What about hobbies?”

“Hm? Oh she absolutely adores miniatures.”

“Miniatures?” Isabelle asked. “Like dollhouse stuff?”

“Yes, she's always found them cute. But she likes making and getting them for her mice and the pixies of White Ash to enjoy. She also adores her mice. She's told me she's looked after the mice in the school since she was a child, they mean a great deal to her.” As he said it, Dire finally had an idea. “Wait a minute.”

“What?” Dreary leaned over to see what he was looking up and smiled approvingly. “These are adorable.”

Isabelle peeked as well at the screen to look at the online store Dire was scrolling through. “Aw. She'll like these.”

“I hope so.”

“Good morning, Prudence.” Clara greeted her assistant as she walked into the main office of the school.

“Good morning, Headmage.” The woman replied with a nod of her head.

“Anything of note this morning?”

“No, but a delivery came for you shortly after I came in. I left it on your desk.”

“Delivery?” Clara asked, trying to think of what it could it could be. “I wasn't expecting any deliveries.”

“It's seems to be a gift, ma'am. The tag said it was from Mr. Crowley of Night Raven.”

“Ah, I see. I'll take a look at it now. Thank you Prudence.” Clara opened the door to her office and was immediately greeted to the sight of a bouquet of white and pink roses in a glass vase on her desk.

She smiled at the sight as she admired the flowers, picking out the card that was addressed to her from it.

Then she noticed the two small boxes as well. One of the mice that was always sniffing around her office seemed rather interested in the smaller box. Opening it, she noticed it had the logo of a bakery she regularly went to, so she was delighted to see it full of her favorite pumpkin cookies inside. She was already thinking of how they would taste with her morning coffee. Before she got ahead of herself, she opened the slightly larger box. In it was a miniature open carriage. Pink with all the intricate little details molded onto the side painted in silver, it's little seats made with a soft white material. Clara thought it was adorable with all its little details. She set it down, the mouse scurried over to it to investigate. Crawling in, the little seat was just the right size for the little creature.

“Is that comfortable, Augusta?” Clara asked as she reached over to pet her.

Augusta the mouse squeaked in approval.

The fae woman chuckle to herself a bit before finally opening the card.

Movin' on up! - Style Savvy: Trendsetters #06

This title serves a double meaning, I made some good progress in Trendsetters.. ...and my Copy of 'Fashion Dreamer should be arriving today! But until then, new outfit of the day:

I'm a little less happy with this one :-/ I was told I needed something in the 'feminine style', for a meeting with Imogen. (The current head of the luxurious 'Enin Chen' brand, also the founder's granddaughter) But I was broke, and did not have a lot of stuff that fit in my closet, So I ended up with this feminine/bold hybrid look, as I feel it's the best I could do without going against my character style (without spending more money) But in the end, I guess it was not enough to impress her :'(

Ok, well, I guess we gotta do what we gotta do... I don't have enough stuff in my normal color scheme, and the exhibition hall is closed, so....

It's been a while since my character's worn pink, I think the last time was... my first fashion show in fashion forward. Basically my first ever real event in a 'style savvy' game! I have nothing against pink, I use it all the time for customers, But, I never really felt it fit my own character, I've always preferred 'pastel pink' over most other shades, and I think it turned out pretty well! (given my limitations)

And it was enough to pass the event!

So I was able to unlock the high-end brand! (too bad I'm broke, haha) Also, the very next day...

Men's Fashion is now available! This should be interesting, Since I played 'Fashion Forward' First, I have no idea how this is going to work. (good thing they give you free stock to get you started) I may be a guy IRL, but that does not mean I know how to dress, lol. And lastly...

I now have a way to actually get rid of old/unwanted stock, you can have clearance sales! Not as convient as the 'buy back' from the later games, but I'm glad to now have at least something, and it's a bit more realistic too! --- Overall, the Game Started Pretty slow, Noticeably more so than 'Fashion Forward', But for the last few sessions, I've been enjoying it a little more each time I play. I still think I prefer 'Fashion Forward', but I strongly disagree with those that call this game 'skippable'. It may not be the ideal starting point, but I still think it's worth playing.

Ok time to put everything away. That Guy gets home anywhere between 2:30 and 4.

While I decide whether I want to use this or not (I’m leaning no with a preference for foam board shelves wrapped in different pastel papers, this modular unit would make more sense in a more modern setting) and because if I wait until I’ve made a decision I will never complete the project

I’ve added a pink panel to the back of the bed covering the former shower. I already like the way that looks better, and I think I will do the majority of the book case/curio cabinet/hutch thing I’m building in pink with the counter top part (which will include that shower-shelf, each faux cabinet door (which will be the most boring rectangles ever), and if I add foam board shelves then each of those being a different pastel color of the matching paper.

That paper was something I got from the Amazon Warehouse to get “free” shipping.

Look at it, though. That’s just printer paper and I glued it to foam board. It did get a little wrinkly in a place or two because I didn’t wait long enough for the Tombow Mono Multi to set, but look how smooth that is. It would never be that smooth with white glue or a glue stick.

I’m almost out of that bottle of TMM, but I have another unopened one, so I’m not worried. It lasts a very long time.

I might go around only the outside edge of that curio thing with this wood-look contact paper so that when the bed is down (which will be never, but just in case) the platform frame will look like wood.

I’ll see how I feel about/ how it looks with the whole thing being pink first. Wood grain might look really weird with how low detail most of the rest of the house is, though the stickers are a little more detailed.

Either way, the rest of that is basically simple rectangles. As long as I don’t screw up my measurements too much, it shouldn’t be too headache inducing to complete.

Still thinking about making the battery port cover look like a fuse box, or maybe just sticking a little picture  in a frame on it or something. It’ll look bad regardless. All that matters is that I can get to the screw, really. It’s not like I’ll ever put batteries in it, but someone might some day.

I think I would like to make that weirdly shaped crib storage spot (thank you @dollsahoy​ for figuring that out for me) into, like... Maybe put some little cleaning supplies in there? like a bucket and some cleaning cloths and maybe a tiny broom or mop, or maybe pet supplies since there are sticker animals EVERYWHERE on this thing. There are like 3 dogs and 7 cats (that is an exaggeration but only slightly).

I stopped buying non-toy Mini Brands so I don’t have any of the kitty litter boxes or anything convenient like that.

I could also just whip up a “door” and cover over the space completely with yet another faux cabinet.

AND I was looking at the MGA MiniVerse balls I have. The smaller one is pretty much exactly the right size AND shape for the fountain cutout on the back of this door.

It would stick out a lot, though, so I might make something else to put there like a rack for garden tools or a narrow planter box or something, just to keep the profile of the house smaller which makes it easier to store.

That could also be a place to put a pet stuff station to hang leashes on or something like that.

I don’t intend to buy furniture for the house I don’t think. I do have a bunch of My Scene furniture sitting around though it’s not colors that would work with this space, and if I buy one of the Gloria sets (or the coveted Avon set....) they come with kitchen chairs and a table and I think I’ll most likely have this set to kitchen most of the time, if not fireplace.

Modern Barbie furniture isn’t the right colors or style.

how to decorate the fireplace room wall, mantle, and the fireplace itself

what colors to apply to basically everything in the kitchen, especially the appliances, little bits of wall above the cabinets, and the backsplash

whether or not to do detail painting in the kitchen like adding color to the stovetop, faucet, and drawer pulls

which dishes to get and whether to buy dishes that are already done, get some cheap ones and paint them, try making my own again, or something else

whether to use the Mini Brands shelving brackets as modular shelving or make my own foam board shelves

But, you will often see him go all out and wear very nice pastel suits because he's fucking loaded and a fashion snob. Why WOULDN'T he go all out?

☕ When I say he's an under the table consultant, I mean under the table. He's not on paper anywhere, I'm sure most in the building that aren't the higher-ups don't know him beyond 'hey this dude has clearance to be here so don't bother him'. What he does and him being there is totally super not legal. Probably lots of NDA's involved to. His entire existence does not exist outside of the HQ building.

☕ He does have an (unmarked) office but he is typically only in the building during meetings or when he's asked to be there. Most of his consulting is done on a 'as needed' basis and he's typically called or emailed to come in person.

☕ He mainly consults for the financial committee board but dabbles as well with the executive one and social responsibility committee. He also meets on and off directly with the actual board of directors.

I Finally Got My Hands on Hard Mountain Dew

Ha! I made you think I wasn’t gonna be writing about the hard Mountain Dew! Gotcha!

Ok, so I’m visiting a friend in Florida, one of the few states that actually have it in stores, so I made him drive me around town until we found it.�� First we went to Wal-Mart, because we heard that some Wal-Marts had it, only to find out that that specific one didn’t, but then we checked online and found a liquor store nearby that did, only to spend 5 minutes walking in circles around the building, struggling to find the front door.  But these were all but temporary setbacks in our righteous quest, and now it’s time to crack these bad boys open.

Regular

Unsurprisingly, it tasted a lot like Mountain Dew Zero Sugar, although, surprisingly, not quite as flavorful? That might’ve been just the fact that we drank it on ice, though.  My friend noted the straight-up-grain-alcohol aftertaste was reminiscent of Four Loko, something that I’ve never partaken in and, at this point, am just too damn old to.  It’s not bad, but we both ended up regretting dedicating ourselves to drinking the entire can, knowing there were better flavors in store, but it was easy enough to chug down before moving on.

Watermelon

I don’t even like watermelon.  There, I said it.  Whenever I eat any melon, the second the taste of it enters the back of my throat, my throat seizes up, as if to say, “NO! Get that foul fruit OUT OF HERE!” (Am… am I allergic to melons?) I will admit, however, that this was a much more flavorful beverage than the last one.  The watermelon taste also does a better job of masking the alcohol taste, so, again, as much as I don’t like watermelon, I have to admit this is a slightly better tasting drink- perhaps, even, my 2nd favorite of the batch.

Black Cherry

First thing I noticed as I poured the contents of the can into a glass was that it was the same pale pink as the watermelon, which I found alarming for superficial reasons I can’t really put my finger on.  Anyways, if you’ve had black cherry White Claw, you pretty much know what this tastes like.  The only real difference is that it’s slightly sweeter (in that “Zero Sugar” aspartame-y kinda way… Side note, there’s no ingredients label anywhere, so I’m assuming it’s aspartame.) and doesn’t have quite as much alcohol aftertaste.  My only question is… why didn’t they try to brand this one as Code Red? Or the watermelon one as Major Melon, for that matter?  I literally JUST wrote about how strong the Mountain Dew branding is, how could they betray me like this?

Baja Blast

Ah, yes, the moment we’ve all been waiting for.  It smells like Baja Blast.  It looks like Baja Blast.  And goddamit, it tastes like Baja Blast (Zero Sugar).  Admittedly, we did get a little hungry at this point and each had a “palate-cleansing” donut that may or may not have de-aclimatized our taste buds to the aspartame (?), throwing this tasting out of whack. I’d say this one probably had the 2nd strongest alcohol taste to it.  But, there’s just something so soothing about that pastel teal hue we’ve all come to know and love that you can’t not love it.  It’s Baja Blast, baybee!

In my opinion, the Baja Blast and, surprisingly, the watermelon were more or less tied for best, with the black cherry being just alright and the original being pretty tasteless.  The only real complaint I have at the end of the day was that they were only available in Zero Sugar, and not the full sugar that my taste buds crave, but, they ultimately are trying to cash in on the hard seltzer craze, so it makes sense that they want to limit the calories.  

None of this really matters, of course.  They’re literally only available in the variety pack, you can’t just pick and choose your favorites.
