SECRETS OF THE CASTLE (bechloe, hogwarts au, enemies to lovers) CHAPTER 6
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Beca liked to think that she hid her intelligence rather well…being as though it was difficult to deduce her thoughts when she didn’t voice them. She took great pride in that. Her usual ability to be silent was partly why she was so irked by that redheaded girl’s prying earlier. She could barely even remember her name, but those blue eyes that stared at her as if she was attempting to perform legilimency on her weren’t exactly inviting. It was as if Beca could seep into her sky blue orbs into a void of nothingness and never be able to escape. To put it frankly, it disgusted her.
Beca Mitchell and Chloe Beale don't exactly get off on the right foot. In fact, they're sworn enemies from day one. But Hogwarts has a funny way of bringing the most unlikely pairs closer together...

“I didn’t expect to find a man here. I did joke with her to find one but didn’t realize they’d be in her bedroom. I take it she didn’t tell you I have a key?”
Ezra is greeted by a short petite woman with a chestnut brown bun on her head and around the edges of her face, she has graying hair. He was confused at first why this woman was in his…Seraphina’s home. But he heard her laugh and recognized it despite the higher pitch. She’s wearing a white t-shirt and a tan skirt, her feet had on tiny purple Harry Potter slippers. He knew those were too small for Sera’s feet.
“No, Sun- Seraphina left that out. It hadn’t been an issue.” Ezra ran his hands along his thighs, thankful that they’d slept with the thicker sheet last night. She shouldn’t see too much, he hoped.
“I’m an issue am I? Hm. I’ll be out in the living room.” She huffed and left. Ezra grabbed his phone and texted Sera, letting her know that her mother was here. Not that she could do anything about it. She was working at the hospital today. He was to lock up after sleeping in. Getting out of bed, he dressed and ran his fingers through his hair, calming it a bit before heading to the living room.
“Forgive my poor word choice. You are not an issue not unwelcome. Just unexpected.” He sat down on the couch next to her as her face remained stern.
“Unexpected in my own daughter’s house? I suppose to you. Are you serious about her or just warming her bed Ezra? And yes I know your name. Also is your food really that good? She said it was and it might be, other factors may make her think so.” Squinting her eyes, he could only laugh. This woman was intimidating, sure, but also so short.
“Might I interest you in some leftovers? Seraphina enjoys my gumbo most of all.” He stood and walked over to the kitchen, taking out a tupperware dish and setting it on the counter. Sera’s mother stood and made her way over to the dish, removing the top and inhaling the spices wafting out.
“Heat it up. We’ll see what you’ve got, young man.” Ezra did just that and handed a bowl to the matriarch who sat at the table to eat it with a glass of water. Seraphina returned Ezra’s call from the medication room. He stepped into the bedroom and closed the door.
“I am so sorry. I forgot to tell her to let me know when she stops by, especially since we exchange beds now.”
“I believe I should be able to ask her for your key. Assuming she gives it to me, would I be allowed to keep it and use it as I see fit?”
“Ezra you do realize what you’re asking right?”
“I am aware Sundrop. I can have one for you when you return home this evening. I have to convince her first. We’ll discuss it more when I have the key in hand.”
“Some days you comfort me and others I think you’ll be the death of me. I dare say you’re pitching for both today. I’m going to turn the light on when I get home not matter if you have the key or not.”
“Stay safe and have a good shift Sera.”
“Don’t underestimate her, Ezra. Take care.”
Ezra emerged from the bedroom and sat Sera’s mother, the bowel empty with the glass of water too. “Your gumbo is delicious. The sausage was perfect with the spices and vegetables.”
“Why thank you. Your accolades are what I seek now-“
“I’m not deaf. And these walls are thin. I’m not giving you her key over some good ass gumbo. No matter how well it would have gone with a side of biscuits.” Standing, she removed the slippers and placed them by the door. Putting her flip flops back on. “I will say, you do seem to be good for her, even if there’s something about you that’s a bit dangerous. Hopefully whatever that is, you keep it in your past. Thank you for lunch. I’ll see myself out.”
“I would never and to your earlier question, she is integral to my wellbeing. Let me walk you to the door.” He followed her out and opened her car door for her.
“You have a good afternoon Ezra. Tell Sera I’ll be by again and I’ll call this time.” The grin on her face almost made him click his tongue, almost. Straining a smile he waved as she pulled off. Frustrated that he wasn’t able to charm her.
It was a few days later, after a frantic session on the couch where they both chased their release, did Sera pull something out of an envelope she’d brought over. Ezra hadn’t paid much attention to it because he was focused on burying himself within her once again.
“What do you have there Moonbeam?” Ezra asked, legs wide on the couch after tucking himself back in. Seraphina chuckled, pulling the top of her dress back up.
“Ma had a message for you, Ezra. She told me not to open it. Here.” Handing to him, she sat next to him and draped her legs over his right leg, curing up next to him.
“How badly did things go with her?” He flatly asked as he tore open the envelope to reveal a small piece of paper.
“Not badly at all. She’s fond of you. Just defensive. I told her she should have called before coming.”
“Hmm…seems I’m growing on her. Look.” He shows Sera the slip of paper and they both laugh.
Well Ezra, maybe your gumbo is more than damn good. I’ll make sure to call like I said I would. Make sure you keep that same feeling about my Sera. You’re important to her too. Might be departing with this key soon it seems. I’ll have you wait on it. Do you some good to simmer like some of your gumbo.
-The tiny mother with the slippers (don’t think I didn’t notice you snickering)

Patronus- Jeong Yunho (Harry Potter AU)
Tumblr media
[I don't own these images credits to the original owners]
SFW
Synopsis: Just a cute little piece of domestic Yunho and y/n but with magic. I've wanted to do a Harry Potter AU for so long so I decided why not write one with soft Yunho.
Contains: fluff, husband! Yunho, father! Yunho, Harry Potter terminology, Yunho is a professional Quidditch player because I say so
[Word Count: 2k]
Y/N had been slaving away in the kitchen for most of the morning, preparing a large meal.
Her in-laws were visiting for Sunday lunch and she wanted everything to be perfect.
Her feet ached from standing for so long and even though she knew that she could cut the time it took for her to cook and bake in half with the use of her wand, she was determined to avoid using magic. She'd always firmly believed that food should be made by hand and with love.
As she finally placed the two pies she'd been working on (one of her signature apple crumbles as well as a beautiful blackberry pie) in the oven she felt arms snake around her waist.
She was pulled back into her husband's chest and felt him kiss her neck. She chuckled and turned around in his hold to wrap her arms around his neck.
"What's up? Are you missing me?"
He nodded, "You've been busy all morning. You know you don't have to go through so much effort, my love. My parents love you and would probably be satisfied with meat, rice and that amazing kimchi you always make."
"I know; they've said so before but I still want everything to be perfect. It's not often that they come to visit us in England."
He cupped her face in one of his hands and pecked her lips, "I love you."
She smiled and pecked his lips, "And I love you."
He grinned and pulled her tight against him, leaning in to kiss her properly. She sighed happily against his mouth as she returned the kiss.
They kissed slowly and softly, just enjoying the embrace of their lover and the faint music that Y/n had playing softly in the kitchen to keep her motivated as she cooked.
He ended the kiss all too soon and kissed her nose and then her cheek as he began to slowly rock them to and fro in time with the music.
She rested her head on his shoulder and let herself be swayed, listening to him hum softly to the music.
Their warm, loving bubble was pierced by loud, high-pitched cries.
Yunho and Y/n both sighed heavily at the sound.
"Looks like someone still doesn't like naps," Y/n muttered.
"I think she just gets lonely," Yunho chuckled.
He gave his wife a quick kiss, "You finish up in here, I'll go and take care of Haneul."
"Thank you." Y/n gave him a grateful smile. She hadn't gotten much sleep the night before, too busy attending to their eighteen-month-old daughter who was still unable to sleep through the night. Usually, she and Yunho took turns to go and check on her but he'd been dead asleep last night and she hadn't had the heart to wake him. Being a professional Quidditch player was taxing sometimes, and he was always exhausted after matches.
Yunho left her to finish up in the kitchen and disappeared down the hall to their daughter's nursery.
It wasn't long before she heard the wails of her baby be replaced with giggles. She smiled to herself; Yunho had always been so good with kids.
She wondered what he'd done this time to get her to stop crying. Last time he'd Accio-ed a chocolate frog into the nursery and set it loose. Not ideal but Haneul had found it very amusing.
She set a timer for the pies and took off her flour-dusted apron before making her way to her husband and daughter.
She'd expected him to be doing something silly like making her toys float around the room like he often did but instead she was greeted by the sight of him sitting on the carpet with Haneul in his lap as his Patronus lit up the room.
She gasped softly as she watched the golden retriever bound through the air, tail wagging and mouth open with silent barks, casting a white-blue glow over the room.
It was beautiful and something she hadn't seen in a long time.
Haneul was mesmerised by the imagery and her little mouth was open and curved into a big smile.
Yunho was smiling too, looking between his Patronus and his daughter's face to watch her reaction.
She'd never seen his Patronus so strong and stunning. It had always been something he struggled with back in the day in school, earning him subpar grades in Defense Against the Dark Arts.
It had never been a case of struggling to find a happy memory; he just had too many and could never really settle on one to focus on specifically. He would flip through his happy memories as if turning the pages in a photo album as he cast his Patronus and the constant changes in thought as he struggled to focus on one specific memory would cause the Patronus to flicker in and out of existence or have it fighting to stay lit up.
She wondered what had changed. Had he been practising or something?
He spotted her standing in the doorway and blushed. His Patronus faltered and then dissipated as he lost focus and looked at his wife.
Haneul let out a squeak of confusion at the sudden disappearance of the doggy she wanted to play with and she looked up at her dad.
He kissed her hair, lifted her and rested her on his hip as he walked over to his wife.
"Hey,"
"Hey," She responded with a soft smile, "That was beautiful, Yu."
"I… Thank you." He scratched the back of his neck with his free hand, the tips of his ears red.
"And then? Why are you so coy all of a sudden?"
"Nothing. I suppose it's just been a long time since I cast a Patronus or since you'd seen it." He responded, bouncing Haneul gently on his hip.
"Why would you be shy about it though, darling?"
"I don't know… Your Patronus has always been so vibrant and unique, mine has never really been able to compete."
"Yunho."
"Yeah?"
"I'm not sure if you saw what I just saw but that was the most beautiful Patronus you have ever cast. You would have passed with honours in DADA with that creation."
"You think?"
"Yes, I do. And what do you mean yours could never compare to mine? Honey, my Patronus is a salamander, you know that. I think everyone would much prefer your puppy over mine."
She accompanied the last part with a chuckle and reached out to stroke his cheek.
He smiled softly at her, "But fire-dwelling salamander patronuses are so rare and beautiful."
She waved off his comment.
"I'm curious though, what's changed? You'd always struggled to keep your Patronus alight, but now it's brighter than half those nitwits we went to school with."
"I mean I haven't cast it since it happened but I found a new memory to focus on a few years ago."
"It must be a really beautiful one for your Patronus to manifest like that. Can I ask what you think of?"
His cheeks flushed slightly and his gaze softened as he looked at her. He always looked at her with such love and had ever since before they started dating in fifth year. It never failed to make her heart flutter.
"Our wedding night."
Her heart melted, "Which part?"
"Well, the whole thing I suppose. How beautiful you looked in that wedding gown and how I definitely didn't cry when I heard you say 'I do'. But also afterwards."
Her cheeks flushed. A certain someone had been conceived that night.
They both looked down at Haneul who was looking up at her parents with big doe eyes and her mouth hanging open.
Yunho looked up at Y/N again with a warm grin, "She is one of the best things to happen to us and I'm glad that we decided to have her."
She felt herself tear up, "Have I ever told you how much I love you, you big dummy?"
He gave her a cheeky grin and kissed her, "I don't know, maybe you should tell me again."
She rolled her eyes and gave him a quick peck, "Maybe later when your parents leave and a certain someone is asleep I'll show you."
"Oh?"
She ruffled his hair affectionately.
"Sweetheart, you've never told me what you think of when you cast your Patronus."
"Oh," It was her turn to blush, "Remember our first date to Hogsmeade?"
He grinned at the memories, "Yeah, we wreaked havoc in Zonko's before heading to The Three Broomsticks. How could I forget?"
"Well, I think of that. It was the first time you said 'I love you.'"
His grin widened as the memories came flooding back, "Yes! I remember. It was winter and your nose and cheeks were pink from the cold. You had taken a sip of your warm butterbeer and some of the foam stayed behind on your upper lip. You looked so adorable I couldn't stop the words from falling from my mouth."
She still got butterflies so many years later, "Our first kiss also took place that day. "
"Yup. I had to help you clean that foam up somehow.", He chuckled.
She leaned in and pressed a kiss to his cheek.
Their nostalgia was cut short when Haneul decided she wasn't getting enough attention anymore and started crying again.
"Oh no, don't cry, princess." Yunho moved her to let her head rest on his shoulder and rocked her in his arms. She was getting bigger every day but she still looked so small in Yunho's arms.
"Do you want mummy to show you pretty lights like daddy did?"
Haneul probably had no clue what he meant but the soft voice of her dad calmed her a little and she looked up at him through her wet lashes.
Y/N rolled her eyes, "Drama queen."
But she took her wand out from her back pocket nevertheless.
"Expecto Patronum!" She said softly but firmly. Contrary to popular belief, you don't have to yell the spell out like your life depends on it, usually just being firm and having a strong intent works. Unless you're planning on visiting Azkaban anytime soon- yelling might be necessary there. Dementors don't discriminate.
No sooner had she spoken the words, a salamander appeared in the air in a brilliant blue glow.
It swam through the air and twirled as it did so, mock flames rising from it's skin. It was a pretty delightful sight. Haneul and Yunho thought so too, watching it with identical smiles and bright eyes. They looked so alike.
Haneul giggled and pulled Yunho's wand from his hoodie pocket. He took it from her just before she could stick it in her mouth. There were already a few teeth marks on the almond wood handle and his friends and teammates in his Quidditch team teased him every time they saw it.
He moved to hold her on his hip with one arm and held out his wand and conjured up his Patronus with firm words and a swish of his wand.
Haneul clapped her hands together in pure joy as Yunho's Patronus bounced through the air, silently barking as it chased Y/Ns.
Y/N couldn't help the laugh that escaped her as she watched her salamander scramble to get away from the big paws of the golden retriever.
Eventually, she started giggling so much that she lost focus and her Patronus faded away.
He stopped paying attention to his Patronus too, too busy lovingly gazing at his wife.
He wrapped his free arm around his wife, pulling her against his chest. He held both his girls in his arms and pressed kisses to each of their foreheads.
His little family would never lack in happy memories and he would make sure of it.

i know you did a hp au for brittana a while back, can you do one for what quinntana would look like in hp verse?
Quinn is a Slytherin but becomes a pariah in fourth year after hooking up with Finn, a Gryffindor (bad) and known dumbass (worse).
Santana, also a Slytherin, orchestrates Quinn’s downfall because she wants to be head girl one day and Quinn is her only real competition. They spend most of their later schooling years sabotaging each other in an effort to come out on top. They both firmly believe this takes priority over the impending wizarding war.
They are inseparable and feared by all until one day in third year when Santana becomes friends with Brittany, a Hufflepuff, who turns her into a puddle of goo whenever she’s around. Quinn condemns the relationship initially, not because Santana and Brittany are both girls exhibiting some serious gay behaviour together, but because Brittany is a muggle born. The real reason is that she’s jealous but she won’t realise this until several years later.
They are both beaters on the Slytherin quidditch team and have been since second year. On the pitch, they are formidable, always in perfect sync. Even when they hate each other. Slytherin rarely lose a game anymore.
When Voldemort and the Death Eaters start recruiting her classmates, Santana realises pretty damn quickly that she’s not quite as Slytherin as the rest. Mostly because she’s still hung up on Brittany, who is an active member of Dumbledore’s Army and constantly in Santana’s ear about switching sides. Quinn takes a while longer to come around because her Dad happens to be Voldemort’s main contact at the Ministry, but ultimately she chooses to be Good too after witnessing a group of first years be tortured for minor misdemeanours. No one deserves that. They don’t join Dumbledore’s Army or anything though. Too far.
Quinn is particularly gifted at Charms, Santana excels in Defence Against the Dark Arts. They both suck at Potions and frequently rely on Brittany, who is somehow top of their class despite never paying any attention.
Harry Potter is in the year above them and super f*cking annoying. When Harry dramatically reappears in the Great Hall prior to the Battle of Hogwarts, Santana and Quinn both immediately roll their eyes. Of course he’d insist on making a scene.
They fight alongside each other during the Battle of Hogwarts, and are two of very few Slytherin house members not locked away in the Dungeon. This is because Professor Mcgonagall knows they’ll be an asset, not a threat. She is correct. Together, they take out more of Voldemort’s crew than most of Gryffindor and Ravenclaw houses combined.
Quinn doesn’t realise her true feelings for Santana until she watches her get stunned by a nasty curse from a Death Eater during the Battle of Hogwarts. She retaliates by killing him in a fit of rage. This is the first (and only) time Quinn uses the Death Curse.
Santana doesn’t realise her feelings for Quinn until she wakes up in the Great Hall to find a blonde haired body concealed beneath a sheet beside her, which she mistakenly assumes is Quinn. She LOSES it and is just about ready to burn the whole world down when Quinn arrives back from the hospital wing with more medical supplies. Needless to say it’s an emotional reunion. When the dust finally settles, Brittany steps aside graciously (she’s had her suspicions about them all year).

I would be VERY interested to hear more about electric love and/or pigfarts 2: electric boogaloo 👀👀👀👀
From this
Electric Love:
Alright, this will date this WIP quite a bit, but do y'all remember that TikTok trend a while back where people would use the sound "Electric Love" by BØRNS and kiss their best friend for the first time (example compilation I found on YouTube)?
Well, imagine this: Baz and Simon have been best friends for years post-Watford, and Baz is okay with that because he'll take any bit of Simon he can get. And he's happy, because he adores spending time with Simon and being a part of his life.
Well, one day he's hanging out with Simon in their shared living room and gets up to make tea. When he comes back, he doesn't see Simon's phone, but thinks nothing of it, because why would he? When he goes to rejoin him on the couch, though, Simon kisses him, and for a moment he has everything he's ever wanted.
Except it's not real. Simon just kissed him for a stupid trend. And how in the hell is Baz supposed to come back from that; having what he's wanted for so long made a mockery of for a TikTok.
Here's an excerpt:
I loosen my grip as he pulls back a bit, eyes flitting across my face. I raise an eyebrow at him and smirk (it still gets a rise out of him). He huffs, and I can feel his breath on my lips. Then it’s no longer just his breath.
I don’t even think. I’m pure instinct, hands shooting up into his curls and shoving him closer to my face. I hold onto him as if the penalty for letting go is death. I kiss him with all that I have and all that I am. I think I might cry.
Simon tries to pull away, but I won’t let him. I’m suffocating on him. He can’t go until he’s breathed me in, consuming me completely in order to survive.
When I pull away, I’m gasping for air. I shoot Simon a feral smile as I attempt to calm my breathing.
I come untethered when I see the expression on his face. He looks apprehensive, but not in the way he looks when he’s giddy with nerves. He looks like he’s going to be sick. I feel my smile fall from my face and my eyebrows draw up in concern.
“Simon…?” I try to reach out and take his hand, but he shoots off the couch. My heart sinks into my stomach as a nervous laugh rips through Simon’s lungs. He’s sweating as he stumbles away. It’s then that I see his phone, propped up against the tellie stand, my face reflected back at me in perfect frame.
I'm literally so in love with this concept, and I love most of what I've written, but I cannot for the life of me pace the ending right (it's written, but I don't like it), so it's been in WIP purgatory since August 2021 :))))
PIGFARTS 2: Electric Boogaloo:
Now this one is a fucking monster of a project that I haven't touched since I wrote 10k words of it in December 2020.
So the idea behind this is that it's a Hogwarts AU in two parts. My sister was writing Simon, Baz, and the rest of the gang's time at Hogwarts and I was writing them as adults, hopefully to be updated in synch with each other. I won't speak on Liv's side, since I let her take the reigns on that part of the story.
Baz is a professor at Hogwarts, and it's all written from his perspective (I believe both parts would be). There's a whole fuckton of plot I came up with that I apparently never wrote down (it's still mostly in my head, don't worry ;)), but here's the summary I pitched to Liv (TW: major character thought to be dead):
Harry Potter AU where Simon and Agatha’s daughter is the chosen one, which Agatha can’t handle. She separated from Simon and became his secret keeper, but decided to let the mage in on the secret because she can’t handle that responsibility (the mage is evil so this ends up getting Simon killed). When Penny found out, she tried to kill Agatha and got sent to Azkaban. The one thing Simon didn’t want for his daughter, for her to grow up in a care home, happens because Penny was the godmother, so when Baz, the charms professor, finds out? He adopts her and raises her as his own, telling her stories of her father. When Penny escapes Azkaban, we learn that she cast a health spell on Simon when everything started going down so she would know if he was ever in danger. He’s been in danger for the past fourteen years, which means he’s alive.
I can't quite remember what kind of relationship I was going to give the Mage and Simon, but that's a later problem. Uhhhhhhh anyway here's a couple blurbs because I couldn't pick between the two:
I stop paying attention after the third student. They really should restructure this ceremony so that it’s shorter. With all the Mage’s “reforms,” I’m honestly surprised it hasn’t happened yet. The returning students just want to eat and the first years always look so mortified when they approach the hat. I let my mind wander to my lesson plans for tomorrow as I absentmindedly pick at my nails.
“Lucy Snow!”
My head jerks up so fast that I see spots. I’m sure that I’ve misheard. Surely it can’t be… But, as I watch, a thin little girl walks up to the stage with wild bronze curls, wide brown eyes, and a face-full of freckles and moles. I feel like the breath has been knocked from my lungs, and I have to grip the arms of my chair for support. His daughter.
---
The second time Lucy comes to my office, I’m more prepared. We spend the day recounting what I can remember of his and Wellbelove’s quidditch careers.
The third time, I tell her about his abhorrent eating habits.
The fourth time, we laugh about him getting sick on the train every year and puking in my aunt’s car (Fiona nearly committed homicide) while we share a plate of sour cherry scones absolutely smothered in butter.
It becomes a regular occurrence, even as the term picks up. I take a break from my relentless grading to tell her stories of her parents while we eat scones and drink tea. Honestly, it’s the best thing in my life currently. I thought it would be painful, reliving the memory of him, but it’s not as bad as I thought. I miss him terribly, but it’s nice to be thinking of him again.
Part of what's holding me back on this is Liv not being into fandom stuff right now, but most of it is a) how fucking massive it's going to be and b) how much editing I'm gonna have to do. My 10k words only get us to winter holidays of Simon's daughter's first year, and that year isn't half as plot heavy as some of the later years. On the editing side of things: I wrote everything before AWTWB and Baz's siblings are featured in it a lot right now, so I'll have to fix their names, pronouns, and characterizations, which will be a not fun time.

Fic Recs Galore
We’re still going!
shake it, baby (you know it won’t last) by BannedBloodOranges
alright so this one isn’t a fic, it’s an AMV of Who Framed Roger Rabbit all about Jessica: how she sees herself and how others draw her. It’s great, and the music is perfect, timing too. The whole thing is awesome
Traffic Signs by Gazyrlezon
this one isn’t exactly fanfiction either...two for two here lol. It’s an original work about a post-apocalyptic teen and is SO good! Introspective, calming, eerie in some moments. I want to see this in a book so bad
also it was inspired by a tumblr prompt so we’re coming full circle on this one!
From Grace by silver_fish
features: hurt/comfort, Harry being Harry and refusing to talk about his problems, some actual good severitus, Harry getting help during Order of the Phoenix, and yet another reason why everyone else should be given the reins to Harry Potter
Ghosts We Know by klmeri
classic Star Trek shenanigans, featuring McSpirk, friendship, humor, ghosts (maybe), and fluff! I love the original series and the fact that it inspires fic like this is one of the reasons why
Gordon Korman Never Wrote a Zombie Story (And Now We Know Why) by nightwalker
did you ever want to read a Macdonald Hall story but make it a zombie apocalypse? If yes, this story is for you. All the characters are aged up but still in-character and the end of the world being nigh doesn’t stop any of the hijinks
Event Horizon by eponymous_rose
this is a story where nothing important happens and yet it all feels right and happy, much like Corner Gas itself
this crazy game by kiwigirl
The Soulmate Goose of Enforcement, aka a goose that chases you around until you find your soulmate and kiss them. Featuring Steve Rogers and Darcy Lewis! A very fun story with the worst sort of goose
A Goose in the Study by KateKintail
possibly the most random story on my list, this is a John/Sherlock/Greg story with a soulmate goose. By turns funny, sweet, and soft, this concept has no right to be as good as this story makes it. If you like random hijinks, go read it
A Skein in Flight by SharpestScalpel
an intergalactic space goose soulmate AU featuring McSpirk and hurt/comfort. Surprisingly emotional for such a ridiculous concept, I highly recommend it
The Noice Place by thinlizzy2
what if the first time around, Michael got a squad of detectives in his Good Place? It’s exactly as much fun for him as it sounds: none. But plenty for the readers! It’s hilarious, made me laugh and the character voices are pitch perfect
Rules by mazabm
Summer and Morty coping together and making rules so they can be accountable and not follow the paths of their family. It’s tragic and haunting and hits way too close to home for anyone who grew up in a dysfunctional family. It’s also so good and you should read it
A Land So Wild and Savage by elanne
this one is interesting. It’s a character study of Charles and Caroline Wilder; the wanderlust that drove him and the need for stability she she understood deeper than he did. The prose in this one is lyrical and wonderful
Macdonald Hall is Fabulous by Nimori
Boots has a problem. Bruno is going to fix it. Along the way, there will be hijinks and shenanigans. This feels like a classic Macdonald Hall adventure and in some ways feels more like Gordon Korman’s works than Korman’s writing these days. Very good story, highly recommend
Poor Timing by Walutahanga
a what-if universe for a series almost no one has read! This is an alternate universe for the Wayfarer Redemption series and is a great exploration of the butterfly effect in that particular universe
Revelations For The Faithful by DesertScribe

I have no idea what to say about this story other than it’s amazing. It features Rosalie from Twilight as she navigates her life, tries to understand who she is, and eventually realizes what her purpose is. The whole thing is shocking and awe-inspiring. Even if, maybe especially if, you hate Twilight go read it.

In the Newsflesh series, any mammal over a certain weight can spontaneously turn into a zombie. What does that mean for dog breeders? This is a down-to-earth story that is all the more eerie for its matter-of-fact-descriptions of events and people. I love it a lot and it makes me cry

Home: Chapter 1/8
A/N: Hello friends, it's me again!
I spent the last 8 months are so working on this Bechloe/Harry Potter AU. I've written the full thing and I'll be posting a chapter a week for the next 8 weeks. There'll be one chapter for each year at Hogwarts (sort of, you'll see) plus an epilogue.
I really really hope you all like it, I've worked super hard on it.
I'd love it so much if you reviewed/sent me messages and shit
Read on Fanfic.net
I do not own Pitch Perfect or Harry Potter or any of their characters.
First Year
Beca stood, breathing heavily, her wand pointed at the Death Eater in front of her. She could feel blood running down the side of her head, and she could taste it in her mouth.
The Death Eater was already pointing his own wand at her. His arm was shaking slightly, but she could see the hatred shining in his eyes behind the mask he wore.
She knew those eyes.
She knew that mask.
It was September 1st, and Beca was dragging her trunk towards her Dad's car. He was tapping his keys impatiently against leg.
It was her first day of Hogwarts, and her stomach was churning with nerves. She couldn't believe the day had finally arrived. She was finally, finally, going to see the famous school she'd heard so much about.
She was finally going to get away from her dad.
"Hurry up," he snapped, watching without helping while she lifted her heavy trunk into the back of the car.
"Sorry," she said, climbing into the car.
He didn't answer, he just climbed in beside her and started driving.
It didn't take them long to get to Kings Cross. Beca knew her dad had magically altered the car so it could beat traffic.
Given his complete hatred of all things muggle-related, she wondered why he bothered with a car at all. But, of course, she didn't say that.
He didn't see her into the station, but before she got out of the car his hand closed around her upper arm.
"Remember who you are, Rebeca. You're a Mitchell. Do not disgrace me," he said. His hand tightened until it was painful. "And if anyone asks about your mother," he squeezed harder still, "she was just some witch you never met. Understand?"
She wrenched her arm free, but nodded, blinking back tears.
"I'll see you in the summer," he said.
She felt a flood of relief at the thought. She got out of the car, got her trunk, and made her way into the station.
Her dad her told her how to get to platform 9 and 3/4, and, after the heart stopping moment of falling through the barrier, she was on the platform. The scarlet Hogwarts Express was billowing steam across the platform and, for a second, Beca forgot she was supposed to be nervous. She pushed the trolly holding her trunk along the platform, gazing open mouthed at the sheer volume of witches and wizards surrounding her.
She'd grown up in the wizarding world, so it wasn't like seeing witches and wizards was new for her. But this was the first time she'd seen them looking so…happy. And she'd never seen so many her own age before.
A group of wizards a couple of years older than her knocked into her as they ran past, laughing, and Beca stumbled slightly. She bumped into a girl her age with red hair and piercing blue eyes.
Beca swallowed hard.
"S-sorry," she stammered.
The redhead flashed a grin at her.
"No problem!" She replied, brightly, before turning away to carry on her conversation.
She made her way to the train and, with some difficulty, heaved her trunk onto the train and into an empty compartment.
She took a minute to catch her breath.
She was on the Hogwarts Express! She was finally going. She took her wand out of her pocket and held it in her hands. Enjoying the weight and feel of it as she remembered what Ollivander had said a few weeks earlier.
"Alder!" He said, describing the wood as he placed it in her hands. "Unicorn hair core, 10 and 3/4 inches!"
Beca felt a rush of warm run through her, as if she'd just swallowed Butterbeer.
"I think we have a match," he said, clapping his hands together. "Curious… given your family name… Unicorn hair is often resistant to, um, dark magic. But, the wand chooses the wizard, after all!"
Beca remembered her warm feeling had been extinguished, like she'd swallowed ice water, when Ollivander had mentioned dark magic.
She didn't have time to dwell though, as the door to her compartment was slid open, revealing the redhead from earlier and a rather uptight looking blonde.
"Can we sit in here?" The redhead asked, gesturing to the empty seats opposite.
"Sure," Beca said, putting her wand away.
"I'm Chloe!" The redhead said happily, holding out her hand. "Chloe Beale."
Beca shook it, feeling herself blush. "I'm Beca." She hesitated. "Beca Mitchell."
The blonde's eyes narrowed. "Mitchell?"
Beca nodded, avoiding eye-contact.
"Mitchell like John Mitchell?"
"Yeah," Beca said, her throat dry. "He's my dad."
"Oh," Aubrey said, looking vaguely disgusted. "Chloe, maybe we should sit somewhere-"
"Don't be silly Aubrey!" Chloe said, still cheerful.
"I'm… I'm not like my dad," she said. "I'm nothing like my dad."
Aubrey opened her mouth to say something but the door slid open again.
"What's up witches!" A loud girl with an Australian accent said, standing in the doorway. She was already wearing her robes, a red and gold striped tie tied around her neck. "I'm Fat Amy, I'm just looking for first years so I can play guess the house. Everyone I get right earns me a galleon." She stared at the three girls in front of her. She pointed at Beca. "Slytherin," she said, as though the word left a bad taste in her mouth. She pointed at Aubrey. "Hmm. Ravenclaw. Or maybe a fellow Gryffindor? Actually," she squinted and tilted her head, "you've got the ruthless, cold eyes of a Slytherin." She let out a huff of frustration. "Look, I'm just gonna say Ravenclaw. So when the Sorting Hat asks you, make sure you pick it."
"The Sorting Hat will ask?" Beca said, trying not to sound too hopeful.
"Sure," Amy said. "Especially if it can't decide. So you might have a chance to get away from Slytherin! But please don't, I need the money."
"You didn't sort me," Chloe said, brightly.
"Oh sweetie," Amy said, "you're a Hufflepuff if ever there was one. Anyway, I'll be off. I heard Harry Potter is on this train, so I'm gonna go gawk at him."
And with that, she slid the door shut, and the girls were alone again.
"Do you really think you'll be in Slytherin?" Chloe asked, sounding something less than cheerful for the first time.
Beca shrugged. "My dad was. And his parents. And their parents. It usually runs in your blood, doesn't it?"
"Not necessarily," Aubrey said. "My Dad was in Ravenclaw, but his parents were both Gryffindors."
"What house was your Mom in?" Chloe asked.
Beca swallowed, remembering the lie she was supposed to say. "I… I never met my Mom," Beca said. She was just some witch you never met, she heard her Dad's voice in her head. Some witch. "She died when I was born."
"Oh," Chloe said. "I'm sorry."
"It's okay," Beca said.
"So you don't even know what house she was in?" Aubrey asked, earning a scowl from Chloe.
"N-no," Beca said. Some witch you never met. "Dad doesn't like talking about her." Beca searched around for something to say. "What about your family?" She asked Chloe.
"Oh, that Amy girl was right. I'm a Hufflepuff for sure. My whole family have been Puffs for generations. Cut me open, I bleed black and yellow," Chloe said, smiling wistfully.
"You're so weird," Aubrey said, shaking her head, and Beca laughed.
The sound of Beca's laughter caused Chloe's eyes to sparkle. Like it was the best sound she'd ever heard.
The three girls carried on talking, or, more accurately, Chloe kept on talking while Beca and Aubrey joined in occasionally. The sky outside was beginning to darken when Aubrey suggested they change into their robes.
Beca turned her back to the other two girls as she changed. She felt her stomach lurch as a hand lightly touched the bruise on her arm she had gotten from her dad in the car. Beca quickly shoved it into her sleeve and finished dressing.
"How did you get that?" Chloe asked, already changed. She shook her head a second later. "Sorry. I'm really bad at, like, judging boundaries. I shouldn't have asked that."
"It's okay," Beca said. "I think I must have knocked it on something."
Chloe opened her mouth to respond, perhaps to indicate that she didn't believe her, but then closed it again.
The train rumbled to a halt, and prefects began walking down the corridor, calling for first years to follow them.
Beca, Chloe and Aubrey made their way onto the platform and were jostled together with the other first years, who were easy to spot. They didn't have house colours adorning their robes for one thing, and they all looked a mixture of both excited and terrified.
She bumped into a boy about the same height as her, which was saying something considering how small she was, and gave him a nervous smile before realising with a jolt that it was Harry Potter.
She didn't get a chance to say anything to him, as they were both put in separate boats. Beca was still with Chloe and Aubrey, with the addition of a couple of other nervous looking kids.
A giant of a man, who had introduced himself as Hagrid, was saying something in a booming voice as the boats started to move. Beca felt another thrill of excitement ripple through her as she remembered once again that this was real. All those years of waiting had lead to this day, this moment, and it was finally happening.
She glanced at Chloe who looked as excited as she felt, and Beca managed another smile. She realised she'd smiled more in the last few hours than she had in the past year.
"Yell get yer firs' look at Hogwarts in a minute," Hagrid called from the leading boat.
Beca held her breath, promising herself she would remember this moment forever.
The boats moved past a line of trees and suddenly, there it was.
Hogwarts.
Home.
"Oh my stars," one of the girls in the boat with them whispered, and Beca couldn't even bring herself to laugh at the cheesiness of it.
The rest of the journey finished quickly, and soon they were being lead down the Great Hall to be sorted. They all gaped at the ceiling, which was showing an incredible night sky. Not even the mutterings of some girl telling them it was just an enchantment could dull Beca's feeling of amazement.
And then the sorting began.
Benjamin Applebaum was sorted into Ravenclaw.
Chloe Beale went, of course, into Hufflepuff.
A tall, brown haired girl called Stacie Conrad was the first Slytherin, and Beca thought she saw her smile falter slightly before she joined the table of cheering Slytherin students.
The girl who had said 'Oh my stars!' in their boat turned out to be a girl name Emily Junk, who joined Chloe in Hufflepuff.
More and more were sorted. A blonde boy with a sly grin named Draco Malfoy was sorted into Slytherin before the hat had even left McGonagall's hand, and then suddenly, it was Beca's turn.
She heard mutterings from the Slytherin table at the sound of her surname, and she made her way nervously to the stool.
When the hat touched her, she heard a rough, raspy voice inside her head.
"Ah, Mitchell is it?" The voice that she knew belonged to the hat said. Beca didn't know how to reply, none of the other students had talked aloud, so she just thought yes. "Pretty obvious where to put you, don't you think?" Yes, Beca thought again, though she felt her shoulders sag. "Or maybe not?" The hat said, a note of amusement in his voice. "You could go anywhere, you know. You've got the brains for Ravenclaw and the ambition for Slytherin. You're loyal, you'd be happy in Hufflepuff. And Gryffindor… Wouldn't that be a one for the books? And why not? You've got the courage. So where should you go?"
But Beca couldn't answer. She knew where she wanted to go. She wanted to be anywhere other than Slytherin. She wanted to escape the reputation her surname gave her. She'd be happy in Hufflepuff, with Chloe. She almost told the hat to put her there, when her dad's voice bubbled up out of nowhere.
Remember who you are.
Her dad… He'd be furious if she ended up in any other house. The thought of displeasing him like that made her stomach feel like it had turned to liquid.
To choose any other house would be madness. It was the type of thing a Gryffindor might do.
But she wasn't a Gryffindor. She wasn't brave.
If she wanted to survive her next visit home, she knew what she had to do.
Put me in Slytherin, she thought.
"Very well," the hat said, in her head. "Slytherin!" He called out to the Great Hall.
The table of green-clad students were stamping their feet and banging on the table, and she went and sat next to the girl Stacie.
"You don't look so happy to be here," Stacie mumbled, just low enough for Beca to hear.
"Neither do you," Beca said, as Aubrey was placed in Gryffindor, after some deliberation.
"No," Stacie said. "I'm not."
"Me neither," Beca said, watching as the hat was placed on Harry Potter. The room was silent.
"Friends?" Stacie asked, holding out a hand.
"Friends," Beca said, shaking it. She looked across the hall at the Hufflepuff table and made eye-contact with Chloe. She smiled at her, and Beca felt a swooping feeling of relief when Chloe smiled back.
There was a roar of noise from the Gryffindor table as Harry Potter went to join them, but Beca's eyes never left Chloe's.
Friends.

The One Where Chloe is a Muggle & Beca is a Witch:)
A tiny brunette is huddled under her thin blanket, feeling a small breeze of cold air go through the fabric as her rotating fan circulates air around her room. “Book of Spells” in wide open placed upon the young lady’s legs, hovering her small thin wand above the book as a small luminescent light shines through the tip of her wand. She has her focus on a specific portion of the large book, more so on the spell “Reparo.” In an attempt to catch up to the skill level of her Tasmanian friend who goes by, “Fat Amy,” the first week of her summer vacation has been spent camping out in her bedroom; in addition to go downstairs time to time for food and water. She bites at her bottom lip, giving an immense amount of concentration on that one spell. “Beca, sweetie.” The brunette mutters the word “nox” under her breath, removing the blanket off her head “What’s up?” Beca asks, bookmarking the page in the spell book “It’s already your second week of summer vacation and all you’ve done is lock yourself up in here, reading about… curses and, witches.” She cocks up an eyebrow “Spells dad. I’m just studying for the next term.” Her dad slowly walks in her room, sitting on the end of her bed where her orange cat Tucker lays “Take a break though. Alright? It’s already 12 P.M and I don’t think you’ve seen an inch of sunlight since you’ve came back from London.” Beca pouts “Yeah, I will.” She begins to cover herself with the blanket once more until her father shoves it back down “Just go outside or something… take a walk.” Beca groans at that idea, throwing herself on her back to lay down “Dangit Beca, just for today. You look paler than usual.” Beca opens her mouth, but immediately cut off by her father once more “Outside. Now.” Beca rolls her eyes and reluctantly gets up, glaring at her dad who is now happy about the fact that his daughter has finally decided to go outside for today. She grudgingly puts on her worn-out sneakers and grabs her phone, an item forbidden in Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The young lady strolls downstairs and opens the front door of her house, immediately being struck by a heat wave and the blaring sun. During times like this when she’s back home in Georgia, she immediately misses the rainy and cloudy days in Britain. It’s quite a shock that Hogwarts let her attend although she is exactly 4,220 miles away from London; yet, majority of the reason why she was permitted is that her mother is a famous Witch that the headmaster admires. Beca puts her hands in her pockets and walks down the cul-de-sac that she resides in, admiring the other grand, modern, old houses in her small neighborhood. Where she lives is typically quiet with the occasional bark of a dog here and there, but it was silent for the most part. She continues walking, glancing at the young boys riding their bicycles around the neighborhood, occasionally glancing at Beca since she’s never seen. Hogwarts is basically a boarding school, letting students go home during holiday seasons such as Christmas, so no one has ever noticed that Beca lives there. As she continues walking, she hears a light voice call her from above. “Hey, there neighbor.” Beca glances up, finding a redhead who looks about the same age as her and almost immediately, Beca notices her heart rate pick up and her cheeks flush with red “Uh, hi?” The redhead narrows her eyes at her and grins “It’s been a while since I’ve seen you. Where have you been?” Beca raises an eyebrow, not having any recollection of who this girl is
“Oh! I, uh- I actually uh…- “Actually, let me just come down, it’ll be easier.” Beca nods at that, impatiently waiting for the bubbly neighbor to head down. She didn’t know why she started to feel all jittery and nervous… she had just met the girl. Lo and behold, there the redhead is, dressed in a fuschia tank-top paired with grey leggings. Beca’s eyes widened, noticing the well-toned arms of her neighbor and also loving the way how her hair rests on her shoulders. “Can’t tell if it’s the summer heat making you red or my stunning looks.” The redhead teases, only making Beca more nervous “Haha… anyway, to answer your question. I just got back from school.” Beca takes a seat on the curb with her new acquaintance following her movement “You go to a boarding school or something?” “Yep.” The curious redhead grins “Which one?” Beca panics, unsure of what to say. “I- uh, can’t remember. Name is too long.” “That’s funny. Anyway, I feel bad I haven’t introduced myself properly. I’m Chloe Beale. I usually stay up in my room looking through the window. I always notice you and your father walking down the curb with an absurd amount of luggage nearly every beginning and end of the school year and sometimes during the holidays.” “What are you, a stalker?” Beca teases, only earning a playful shove from the redhead
“Perhaps but that’s not the point. What’s your name?” “Beca Mitchell.” The two new friends continue talking about their school as Beca continues to make up specific lies, avoiding to spill her secret about the true school she goes to. In their conversation, Beca learned that Chloe goes to Barden High School, the home school in their area and runs an acapella club with her best friend by the name of Aubrey Posen. She also learned that Chloe is at the top of her class so she speaks, loving every minute she gets to learn something new. However, talking about themselves is and was a difficult grueling task for her, attempting to make up a believable tale for her friend. The only things that Beca didn’t lie about are being friends with Fat Amy, who Chloe laughed at her name before I explained that she goes by that nickname so “twig bitches like you don’t say it behind her back,” which made Chloe laugh even harder. She also talked about being the top of her class as well, but only keeping it at that, unsure if she should explain the logistics of what a prefect is. The brunette couldn’t explain her classes… knowing that talking about the care of magical creatures and potions would raise an eyebrow out of her friend. Beca also explained about being in an intense sport which she most definitely can’t explain since it’s basically brooms flying through the air whilst trying to get balls into hoops. So, she went along with basketball when she thought of the balls going through the hoops. “Hey uh… it’s kind of hot. Do you maybe wanna, uh… get ice cream down the street?” Beca smiles. “That sounds fun. I- let me grab my wallet from my place.” She starts to get up to head back to her house but is pulled in the opposite direction by Chloe, being a breath away from the redhead’s face
“My treat, I insist.” Beca blushes at the words, feeling the heat that came off of each word land on her lips “O-okay.” Chloe smiles and interlocks their arms together, heading down the street to a small ice cream shop around the corner. Beca couldn’t understand her feelings for this girl… what made it even more confusing is that the two have just met, it was quite hard for the petite girl to believe that she already developed a close bond with the redhead. Nevertheless, Beca did enjoy her time with her so far; likewise, Chloe is definitely enjoying her time with Beca, with the brunette clueless as to Chloe’s gigantic crush on her.
this is just a small idea I have and I’m interested in turning this into an actual story! if you’re reading this leave feedback or your thoughts on this becoming a real story on ao3 or something. thank you and I hope you enjoy!

SECRETS OF THE CASTLE CHAPTER 9 (bechloe, enemies to lovers, hogwarts au)
Beca Mitchell and Chloe Beale don’t exactly get off on the right foot. In fact, they’re sworn enemies from day one. But Hogwarts has a funny way of bringing the most unlikely pairs closer together…

Emily was surprised when Flitwick told her her tutor for Charms class would be Beca Mitchell. When she asked him if someone could help her get ready for her OWL’s, she thought he would have ask someone like her fellow Hufflepuff friend, Chloe Beale. Actually, anybody but Beca Mitchell.
Emily wouldn’t say she was scared of her, just a bit intimidated. She was just too perfect to be real. She was this though badass Slytherin who didn’t let anything get in her way. Plus she was like super smart and incredibly beautiful. But Beca wasn’t the kind of girl to volunteer for tutoring. Emily figured she must have gotten in trouble and that must be her punishment.

hey guys! Check my bechloe fanfic! Beca’s family isn’t so tolerant if it comes to people that aren’t pureblood and to be honest, Beca is a bad bitch. Chloe was good girl but something changed it. These two girls were enemies the whole time, so what happened they stopped hating each other?

Completely imersed in the pile of books you gathered in the library in order to try and understand more about potions, you get startled when a boy throws himself into the chair next to you, a yellow stripped tie hitting your head in the process.
"I'll give you 20 bucks if you kiss me."
"What? No!", you give him a disgusted and confused look before digging your head into the old dusty pages again.
"Come on!! Angela keeps coming to me trying to snuggle and kiss me and-", as dramatic as he is, Hyunjin pretends he is going to be sick, exaggerating on the nasty sounds way too close to your ear.
"What? Why?", your bestfriend finally caught your full attention as you turn to face him, "Wait, Angela as in like, Angela your major crush perfect-Angela? Weren't you supposed to like, I don't know, enjoy the attention?" But then the face he makes, his cheeks turning shades of pink as his gaze drifts away from you and he sinks down in his chair in embarrassment, realization hits you, "No! No you did not! Are you like what, dumb?", you flick is head inducing a loud squeal to come out his mouth.
"It was Jeongin's idea!", his voice three pitches higher than before, "And I can't be that dumb if I managed to make that stupid love potion work. But that's beside the point, will you do it or not?"
"Do what? Kiss you? And how will that help you dimwit?", you went to flick his head again because, to be fair, he deserved it, but Hyunjin knew you too well and held your hand in time to stop you from hurting his pretty face, as he likes to state.
"To break the curse! Make her give up on me by making her think we're together or something!"
"What curse? There is no curse! And she isn't even thinking right now, she might just kill me out of jealousy!", at this point you're pratically yelling at each other and are forced to leave the library, resuming this odd conversation on your way to Ravenclaw's common room.
"I still can't believe you let yourself go with what Jeongin tells you. He's evil you know?"
"Should've guessed by the green scarf huh?", you slap his arm lightly, not very fond of the jokes made regarding the fact your other best friend is a Slytherin.
"So, how do I solve this?", he basically pleas at you as you sit down on the desk next to the fireplace, as far away as possible from your housemates. Every two in three students has made, or attempted to make, some sort of potion or spell to have something in their advantage. However, amortentia wasn't just "some potion", and if some were to find out that Hwang - head in space - Hyunjin succeded at his attempt they would never leave his poor ass alone, so for now your plan was to keep this subject as low-key as possible.
"Marry her." you say nonchalantly while, without his knowledge, already looking up all about amortentia, its possible side effects and how long it would take to wear off - if ever-, receiving a whine in return.
"It was really fun at first, you know? The flirting was cute, the smooches were great," and boy he put some emphasis on that adjective,"but now it's like she's obsessed with me! She's clingy and talks with that annoying voice and I can't seem to get rid of her!" Hyunjin throws himself face down into the old couch and whines again, words muffled by the pillow where he burried his face. "She's probably standing right outside the door just now!"
"Wait, what do you mean it was fun at first? How long has this been going on Hwang Hyunjin? And why am I only knowing of this now?", you turn around in your chair way too fast, hitting with your knee on the other chair next to you before facing the mop of brown hair all spread around the blue pillow.
"Well, I barely ever saw you all week!", the boy turns his head just the minimum amount to look at you, "You're either with your nose buried in those old books, or with your hands all over Lee Minho! Not my fault you no longer have time for your friends..."
"First of all," you pull out the pillow he's laying on, his face falling on the black cushion as a few curses leave his lips, "lower your tone! I did not spend the week with my hands all over Minho, I am tutoring him in potions!"
"Which you're not that good at, that's why you walk everywhere with those fat books..." Hyunjin rolls his eyes at you as he recovers the pillow from your hands again, "Don't deny it (y/n), you've got the hots for him!"
"Oh sweetie, I sense jealousy in your tone... is that why you gave Angela a poorly made potion?", you show him the page you've been reading between the backs and forths of your not so relevent argument, only for him to realize the potion should've worn off two days ago. Instead, it only got worse. "Perhaps you could use some reading too huh?"
The boy rips the book from your hands, grunting between his teeth sounds you doubted to be words as he makes his way out, only to shut the door as soon as he opens it, squealing loudly when his eyes meet the ones from the Gryffindor's brunette standing right in the middle of the hallway.
"I'm telling you (y/n), she won't leave me alone! It's like she's obsessed!", Hyunjin keeps his back against the door, afraid the girl could open it by some miracle driven by her potion induced feelings, hence she doesn't have the password.
"Well, you see Hyunjin... that's because she is! And it's your fault, you should simply face it..."
"Oh I'm going the kill Jeongin...", the boy grunts ignoring your words completely as the whines coming from the other side of the door overlapped them, "Can you go get him? Or get rid of her?"
You make your way to the door Hyunjin refuses to unblock and, when words and pushes didn't make the tall boy move, you had to resort to your wand, although the simple threat was more than enough for him to make way for you. He stayed hidden in the corner as you parted the door slightly to tell the girl her beloved had disapparated from there, and she should probably look at the quidditch court. The fact she believed you only proved how strongly she was affected by the potion, since everyone knew Hyunjin would never go to a sports court by his free will and disapparating into and out Hogwarts wasn't possible at all.
As soon as the path got clear you both made your way to the shrieking shack through the whomping willow everyone was so afraid of, but that was exactly why the three of you claimed it as your secret meeting place.
Jeongin was already waiting as you sent him a message through your magic notepad when you got rid of Angela, and you had to secure Hyunjin to not throw the book at the Slytherin boy who only laughed in return. The laughter didn't last long though, because you only stopped Hyunjin so you would be the one scolding the younger one, flicking his head the same way you did to the lover boy earlier.
"Hey! What did you do that for?", the boy frowned at you rubbing his forehead.
"To bring you back to reality, so you can both fix the mess you made!"
"But what's the problem?" Jeongin looked at you with honest confusion on his face, "Is this about the potion? You know that thing wears off in like a week or so right?"
"Exactly... do the math now genius..." Hyunjin rolls his eyes before leaning his back against the spiderweb covered walls.
The three of you spent the whole afternoon trying to figure out what went wrong in the first place, you analyzing every single detail of the procedure, and the boys trying to recreate every step they took to reach the final product. But, after hours of research and theories nothing seemed to have gone wrong, well except for the exaggerated and long-lasting effect of the potion.
"We should just obliviate the poor girl..." suggested Jeongin at one point, head in his hands as a sing of withdrawal.
“I don’t think that’s legal, but we can work around it...” You agree with him closing the book you were now reading for the fifth time.
"Are you guys serious? Because that sounds great! Can we get away with it?" Hyunjin's eyes were sparkling in hope as he shifted in his seat to a more straight up position, ready to do whatever it took to get to walk in peace around the school, without being unexpectedly smooched in the cheek and squezeed into a hug every time the girl spotted him.
"No, it's a joke!" You both sigh at your friend's desperation before calling it a day, deciding to resume your research first thing in the morning.
As per usual, you met with the boys for breakfast at the dining hall, though this time they weren't alone and you couldn't help out a giggle when Angela, as glued to Hyunjin as possible while feeding him something funny looking with a spoon, winked at you as soon as you sat in front of her and next to Jeongin. The latter looked almost as horrified as the pampered boy, and you had to focus to try and keep yourself from bursting into laughter before the scene that was unfolding in front of you.
Hyunjin looked like an annoyed pouty baby slumped in his chair - as an attempt to go unnoticed -, while the smiley girl, - one that seemed to have way too much energy in the morning -, pulled some strands of the boy's hair behind his ear before kissing his cheek, "You're so pretty Hyunnie-jin, and I hate to leave you," the girl pouts as she pinches his cheeks rather aggressively, "but don't worry sugarplum, I'll be waiting for you in the astronomy tower when you leave class." This time the kiss is aimed at his lips, but Hyunjin antecipates her intentions and dodges his head with a slick move, just not fast enough to be fully free of her, ending up with her lips awkwardly attached half to his jaw, half to the corner of his lip.
"So you decided to give in?" You couldn't help the grin that was forming on your face, finding it hilarious how the universe always had a way to keep things balanced.
"Shut up. I had to if I didn't want to starve myself, it was one sacrafice I was willing to take." Hyunjin furiously rubs his face with a napkin, as if it would erase the memory of the previous demonstration of affection.
"I say it's the karma, you were basically playing and manipulating her the moment you gave her the potion, now you face the consequences."
"It's like she's taking revenge..." Jeongin mumbles more to himself than to his friends, but he was still heard, and had now two pairs of eyes locked on him waiting for a further explanation to what seemed to be a pretty plausable theory. "We already concluded we didn't do anything wrong, right?"
"Yes, it's still hard to believe though..." you take a sip of your pumpking juice with a raise eybrow, honestly still impressed at how they pulled that off.
"So what if she got aware that Hyunjin gave-"
"We, Jeongin, we!! This wasn't just me okay? I just got the, uh, benefits?"
"Ok, sure, whatever... What if she became aware that we," emphasis on the pronoun as he glanced at Hyunjin, "gave her a potion and now that it wore off she is pulling this act as a pay back? Because, according to our lover boy, if it was nice at first then why would she suddenly start acting all obsessively?"
Both you and Hyunjin took a moment to reflect on this new theory, one Jeongin was really proud of as showed by his smug grin when he crossed his arms and relaxed back in his chair.
"I hate to admit it, but that makes a lot of sense... and explains why she winked at me when I got here..."
"Okay yes, she is faking it... why else would she wink at (y/n) when I'm the one she's supposed to be focused on?", the boy threw his arms up with a questionting - and slightly offended - look.
"Time for confrontation!" you were already standing up with Hyunjin following the lead, but you held yourselves back when you realized Jeongin wasn't moving, looking between the both of you still grinning.
"I've got a better idea..."
It was a terrible idea, you thought, and wanted no part in it at all so you let the boys discuss the details while you just sat there judging their poor life decisions.
The plan was for Hyunjin, instead of confronting her and get it over with as you suggested, to play along as if he too was deeply in love with her, and see who would break out of character first. As much as you tried to explain how childish and stupid the plan was, the boys simply wouldn't listen to you, convinced this was the best idea they've ever had.
Hyunjin got oddly excited about this and ran to astronomy class, already antecipating the act he would pull off when he'd see the girl waiting for him at the bottom of the stairs when he'd get out, leaving you and Jeongin alone in the dining all. The contrast of your opinions on this was pretty clear in your faces, Jeongin laughing loudly, you furrowing your brows and shaking your head in disapproval.
Then, all of a sudden, the boy stops laughing and looks at you, "What if they actually end up falling in love after all this?"
He sounded seriously concerned yet amused at the same time, while you only rolled your eyes at him before collecting your books and leaving for class as well.
"Shut up, this isn't a wattpad fanfic."
