as i'm working on my new fic, i just found out i actually love writing james and peter's shenanigans, they're literally pure caos together, like, james is normally a very affectionate person, and peter likes affection, so they're just hugging or cuddling sometimes, but they also bicker a lot so they fight while trapping each other into tight hugs

Stop writing marauders fics and making peter this outcast that they ignore and didn't love. His betrayal hurt for a reason. Remus truly believed Sirius did it. And Sirius didn't want Pete dead because he let him go to Azkaban. No, he wanted him dead because he did what they promised they never do and that's hurt each and he did that. And I know for a fact James would resent him because he didn't just put James and Sirius in danger, he put lily and harry in danger. But secretly he'd forgive him. He'd pray it was a trick and peter was tortured. Or he was being a spy for Dumbledore and had to say something. James loved peter. Remus loved peter. Sirius loved peter. PETER IS A MARAUDER WHETHER YOU LIKE IT OR NOT. That doesn't mean you have to hate him. But stop making him this terrible, evil, scheming, person.

been thinking abt how the marauders era relationships would pan out in every universe and here are my thoughts!!

Wolfstar — lowkey controversial but I don’t think they’re soulmates — they’re more, kinda-wrong person, right time. I think they’d only end up together when things go to shit. Which is part of why I love them so much and why I love them in the canon universe. James and Lily are dead, Peter is a traitor, remus is unemployed and sirius….poor sirius. So yeah, They’re just two fucked up lads trying their best to love despite the world being against them. In universes where they don’t fall in love, can imagine they think the other’s a little off-putting or perhaps no really strong emotions. I think that’s why their connection in the canon universe is so special to me, because I just don’t think they’re relationship would be as prominent if circumstances were different (in other universes).

Prongsfoot — they’re literally soulmates. In every fucking universe. Sometimes, it’s platonic (tho never strictly), sometimes, romantic, sometimes an intense sexual bond as enemies?? Either way they’re always a little bit in love with each other. I do hc James as straight in the canon universe but yeah they definitely made out. And in other universes where James is queer they’re having the time of their lives. Anyways so yeah. Soulmates in every universe.

Jily — Love Jily! I see them as a first love situation. Some universes (like the main one) their love becomes immortalised. However, in others, maybe they move on and find other people, but since they were each other’s first love they always have a special place in their heart for each other <33

Jegulus — …………………………………………………………..

Prongstail — always doomed in the long run. Kinda childhood friends to lovers to ……. . A bit of unrequitedness because I don’t think James could ever love Peter enough. And in every universe Peter always has an inferiority complex and bottled resentment. They’re relationship rarely ends well.

Snily — ooh this is an interesting one. Similar to prongsfoot, I think they’re also a kind of doomed childhood-friend-to-lovers. Except I think that in the universes where Sev does not end being a bigot, they could probably date for a bit. They wouldn’t last tho and would remain as friends. In one universe Lily is an out and proud Lesbian and Sev is a closeted t-girl and they date for a bit but eventually decide to become friends (Lily still supports transfem!Sev in her transition tho). Canon universe tho,,, Sev had a crush on her and maybe Lily did too, but fifth year and James lol.

Nobleflower — ooooh love me some sapphic friends-to-star-crossed-lovers! I feel like in every universe they’d be on opposing sides, depending on circumstance.

Marylene — Friends to lovers, right person wrong time in the canon universe, but in other universes they’re thriving. They still would have had some sort of codependent, homoerotic friendship leading up to it lmaoo.

Dorlene — I like to think they’re always rivals in some context. Sometimes it leads to a fiery relationship, and sometimes it’s just aggressive sexual tension while they’re on opposing fields.

Jeverus — oooh people hate this but. Toxic rivals/enemies to lovers. Sometimes it works out, most of the time it doesn’t. The hate they hold for each is very strong but so is the sex

people will go out of their way to make sure everyone near them knows that they think romantic prongsfoot sucks and is „basically incest“ when it’s literally one of the only marauders ships that would actually make sense in canon?

„but they lived together, they were basically siblings“ so James wouldn’t have taken Sirius in if they were dating?

„But there’s so few profound platonic ships in the fandom“ wolfstar can be platonic? So can prongstail!

„They’re too similar, there’s not enough tension!“ god forbid two characters actually like each other and have similar interests. I promise they’re not the same character and I would recommend rereading the books to everyone who says so. (Sirius is in 3 of them!!)

It just sucks to see so many people in the „live and let live, just ship whatever you want“ demographic freak out over one of the smallest rarepairs in the goddamn fandom. Like I’ve seen it getting thrown in a box with literal incest ships and and stuff like harry/snape. Also this „basically incest“ shit is so confusing to me, like wdym „basically“? How can something be „basically incest“? Have you read Blackcest before?? I promise they’re not actually related.

im not a massive prongstail shipper (prongsfoot <3) but i've had this headcanon for fucking ever and it just isnt appreciated enough in marauders circles childhood bestfriends with supposedly unrequited crushes its a v popular marauders headcanon that james and peter knew each other before hogwarts, having both come from established magical familes so i just get brainrot about bb james and pete running around and doing all those childhood bestie things like getting married in their gardens and making wedding rings out of paper etc etc and just,,, neither of them realised they were each others first crush? as they grew up they realised "oh,,, oh i like liked him, didn't i. you dont usually marry people you feel completely platonically about." they are both emotionally constipated teenage boys who spend ages stewing in angst going "i loved him, but he'd never love me back D:" even though if they had a single conversation talking about their hisss feelings the problem would easily solve itself. but they dont, and years in the future, everything goes to shit. and peter doesn't realise that james still kept that tiny paper wedding ring

YES YES YES, I always loved the idea of Peter having an unrequited crush on James but I was always kinda hesitant to fully explore the ship, and today I just went fuck it and decided to announce it on tumblr.

I totally believe Peter and James are both the most oblivious mfs to ever exist, so the idea of them both having crushes on each other and assuming the other person didn’t reciprocate their feelings so they kept it to themselves sounds so accurate.

I’ve heard a bit about that headcanon before and tbh it sounds like a pretty interesting one, I’d like it if it was more explored in fics.

lmaoo I used to always do this with my irl bestie (we’re still inseparable to this day) 😭 we were (are) also major Swifties so when Taylor released Paper Rings 4 years ago we were like OMG REMEMBER WHEN WE USED TO- *goes down memory lane.* Imagining baby!Peter and baby!James making them and having pretend-weddings in their gardens legit sounds like the purest thing ever 😭<333

and when they’re at Hogwarts and well into their teen years they both start thinking “yo wait……. maybe I actually liked him” but never say anything about it due to the fear of being rejected or realising the other person forgot about the weddings and paper rings. And when James got with Lily, that was when Peter accepted that he was genuinely in love with James and couldn’t handle the pain of seeing him with someone else, let alone “Evans.” He then started resenting the Potters and kept thinking to myself “what did I do wrong? why didn’t I tell Prongs when I had the chance?” And part of the reason why James agreed to switch to Peter as the Secretkeeper was because he remembered what it was like when they were kids and trusted him fully because of it. Then when the opportunity to betray the Potters to Voldemort came, Peter took it.

Y E S. and at one point James gave it to baby!Harry bc his fingers were almost the same size (either baby!Harry had chubby fingers or James and Peter had skinny fingers, we’ll never know), Lily noticed it and asked what it was. James told her it was “just something he put together,” Lily didn’t buy it because the paper weddimg ring looked a little worn out but decided not to say anything.

opinion on Prongsfoot, Prongstail, and Prongsmoon?

I'm a wolfstar girlie at heart but these ships have always been interesting to me, prongsfoot the most. I haven't read many fics on them, but it's a good ship!

I think Remus and James's dynamic really should be talked about more, wether it's platonic or romantic. I think it's an interesting ship and might look into it some more.

I haven't looked at much about Prongstail, but it def has some good angst possibilities if we're keeping Peter as a traitor.
