EMERGENCY CAT SURGERY | Pickle needs HELP!

I never thought it would be my turn to make one of these posts.

TW; CAT INJURY

Sunday night, my 6 month old kitten, pickle, had a really bad fall down a hardwood staircase after getting startled, and upon impact with the first floor, his little femur took the entire force of the impact and it snapped clean in half. My heart dropped to my stomach when I heard him thump hard against the ground and he began to cry, we immediately dropped everything and rushed him to the emergency vet nearby.

Turns out, the injury was worst than we thought. He needs orthopedic surgery to fit his femur with a metal plate. This will help him recover faster with the best successful outcome for his quality of life, but this is going to cost a staggering $4,000 dollars. He hasn't even celebrated his 1st birthday yet, he's still just a baby and this terrible accident happened. Pickle is truly my best friend, he has been my little beacon of light through it all, he is the one who sits with me while I write long chapters for my novels, and I will do absolutely anything for him.

My heart is fucking shattered seeing my normally happy and high-energy baby have such a traumatic injury like this. I know this is hard on his mental health, too. Please, if you can, help us help pickle. Qrow’s Semblance is Fortune! 🐦‍⬛

I talked about this briefly before, having speculated that Clover’s pin carries on his good luck after death or that Qrow has just done a lot of training mentally and/or physically. @benevolentslut had some amazing additions as well & I want to sum up this theory for you as best as I can as we reached similar conclusions even before I had read her reblog.

Qrow has only been in the negative all his life, mentally and emotionally.

This man has had barely any positivity in his life.

Qrow grew up under constant stress & threat of those around him.

Needless to say, but I don't think he could trust anyone he grew up around except maybe Raven.

Then he has to constantly worry about being found out by the other huntsmen! Also growing up with the threat of huntsmen and Grimm the entire time!

Then Oz drops the whole Salem problem on him & I'm sure that didn't help his mental health in the slightest!

I'm just going to copy paste this here as I hadn't noticed it & it feels worth noting that the intensity of his misfortune seems to increase with the increasing mental strain.

While we don't know for sure that all of these things are a byproduct of Qrow's misfortune semblance, it certainly isn't out of the realm of possibility. Notice the worsening of his mental health resulting in potentially more disastrous outcomes. 😰

Oh... oh no. From his perspective Ruby & Yang could literally be dead. He is stricken with grief as he watches it all unfold & probably sunk back down into a negative spot mentally. He may even blame himself in some way.

When you're this low, there's a saying that goes "nowhere to go but up."

I firmly believe that Qrow would see things that way, especially after reaching his lowest point. He can only do his best to help those around him. Though he's the most alone he's ever been, he's becoming a part of a new community where people help one another. In that sense, it's impossible to be alone. In spite of it all, he slowly finds his mental health improving! Ruby's message to the world is bringing people together! 🌹

There's also already a premise for shifts in mental health and trauma resulting in semblance evolution.

Cinder betrayed Neo & so she winds up in the Ever After & through her form changes is showing us that she now has negative feelings towards Cinder.

She's so upset that her semblance starts to make multiple clones of her which it has never been able to do before. Her Overactive Imagination semblance has evolved due to the state of her mental health.

Her semblance begins to evolve so much to where she can create entire architectural structures and buildings out of it!

She can even use it to talk through the people she recreates, something she's not physically capable of herself.

While we do have to take into account that the Ever After plays by rules that are a little bit different at times; this absolutely confirms that semblances, much like people, can change & grow! 💪

My conclusion: Volume 10 & beyond will show Qrow's personal semblance evolution as he finds out that his power is actually Fortune itself & the ability to control it, good and the bad.

I'm sorry to tell you, but it is A SCAM.

This person sent me an ask about her sick cat out of the blue and then immediately followed me. The post on her blog looks very convincing, a vet bill with her same name as the PayPal and everything, even showing crochet plushies offered in exchange for support.

However, a quick Google Image search for a picture of the plushes in question returns an identical photo on another person's (better corroborated) sick cat post from October of this year.

Furthermore, the blog header implies that this is a multifandom blog and lists a small handful of popular ones, like Good Omens and The Lord of the Rings.

However... There's no such content on this blog with even a cursory glance. It was made super recently and has a super shallow archive, just a really incoherent jumble of popular posts unrelated to any of these fandoms, and is mostly just self-reblogs of the sick cat post.

I feel bad reacting doubtfully to such a tragic story, but like... this person's stolen someone else's real struggle and is using it to scam kindhearted folks like us. I've been scammed by posts like this before, and I don't regret trusting enough to believe and want to help, but I do regret not doing my homework.

Always do digging, especially when contacted by a blog you've never seen before, and back-search any distinctive-looking images to see if they've been stolen. Block this person and spread it around that they're deceiving others.

My theory on what could happen in a potential season 3 of Good Omens

This does not contain any spoilers for season 2 beyond things we know from the trailer, as I typed most of this out several weeks ago, and also avoided leaks and spoilers about the already screened episodes of season 2. I posted about this before, but I have sorted my thoughts a bit better in this post.

Some background for those who may not know: In 1989, Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett started planning a sequel to the book, which they never managed to write. Neil said that he put some stuff from the unwritten sequel in season 1 and 2, but the plot of season 3 would be mostly the sequel, and season 2 is just needed to bring us from the end of season 1 to season 3.

Here is my theory what the thing that needs to happen for season 3 to work could be, based on these information: A lot of people have speculated that this means that season 2 is needed to deepen the relationship between Aziraphale and Crowley. I don't think this is the main reason, and it's mostly just a side effect. I think the thing that has to happen for season 3 to work is that heaven and hell need to start working together, which is something we have seen them do in promo material for season 2 (for example, looking for Gabriel together). A basis for this has already been laid in the ending of season 1, when Beelzebub and Gabriel both try to convince Adam to bring about Armageddon, and, after this failed, shaking hands and declaring that the fight isn't over.

So what could season 3 be about? At the end of season 1, Crowley said that he thinks that "the real big one" would be all of heaven and hell against all of humanity (and them). So I think that this war is probably going to happen in season 3. This is also supported by Neil saying that season 2 is "gentle and romantic" and kind of the "filling in the sandwich", because season 3 would, like season 1, not be as gentle and romantic either. Which would make sense if there was a war happening in season 3.

♡ Life update ♡

{ I'm sorry for just up and disappearing without notice, I took a little break from writing and being on this blog due to mental health reasons and I think it helped. Rping is a hobby I've had on and off for close to 10 years now and taking breaks is healthy and necessary to fuel my writing energy.

This month I've been busy with creating art and reconnecting with irl friends, and I picked up acrobatics as a hobby. I'm also taking more time off discord to recharge my social battery.

My writing partners/friends and the relationships we've established are something I value deeply and think about a lot. I want to keep writing the interactions that bring me joy at a pace that is comfortable for me to retain without me burning myself out, so thank you all for being so patient and understanding with me! I probably won't write as much in the tempo I had in the past (unless the inspiration strikes) and do a little spring clean on my inbox, but I do want to slowly ease myself back into writing in February c: ♡
