To answer your comment - I genuinely do not think our wonderfully, weird co-dependent besties are doing any major fanservice (I mean, they might harped it a little during events/concerts), but their interactions off-screen tells a lot about their relationship.

I can’t put it as eloquently as the talented Sarah @/firstkanaphans (who has ways with words) and it seems she answered some questions/comments already re: FK in the last 24 hrs (so, if you haven’t check it out, please do!). Not surprisingly though, after the wild 24 hrs we have in SomSoms fandom. And who could blame us? - we have Khaotung (plus Joong) looking smoking hot in those suits, followed by FirstKhao sitting on each other lap and now them drunkenly kissing during karaoke?? (Also - this is me bowing to Joong who continues to be our lord and saviour in detailing us FK shenanigans 🙇🏻‍♀️🙇🏻‍♀️🙇🏻‍♀️)

But in a nutshell, I agree with what you (and what most of us think) - the boys just genuinely enjoy each other company plus they have found their safe haven. FK themselves admit in an interview their relationship could only be defined as “First-Khaotung” cause even they are aware to some degree the things they do for each other are not most people will do even in a good friendship scenario 😂….I mean, these 2 have GPS activated? on their IPhone so that they are constantly aware of each other location, spoils each other with expensive gifts, sulks if the other don’t show up to any event (First’s graduation ceremony come to mind! - he was so upset and whining to Ciize when Khao pranked him into thinking that he would not make it to the ceremony. I also recalled him playfully sulking and refusing to say Khaotung’s name during a solo event [and instead use variation of “rice” instead] cause Khaotung was asleep and didn’t tune in to his solo event 😂🙂‍↕️ )

Also, I have always thought between these 2 - First is the more expressive and eloquent speaker. You can tell by the way he effortlessly carry out any host duties or events/interviews (while Khaotung usually stares adoringly to his bestie face 🫣 but he is getting better!). Or how about the way First wrote those beautifully penned out what I can only described as love letters to his bestie (during LOLFanfest 2024). Khaotung, on the other hand, he is the epitome of what I will call “action speaks louder than words.” He quietly helped First throughout Safe House season 4 when the latter broke his arm/wrist, and if I recalled, Khaotung helped First ties his shoes during a photoshoot they did together (with the photographer/staff member actually showing a BTS photo of him doing just that) during the same period. It’s not to say Khaotung can’t expressed himself or function without First, but these 2 just sparkle ✨ more brightly when they are together.

And while Sarah rightfully pointed out that during Khaotung’s bday event last year, he kept looking up to see if First is present yet, I will say the same applies with First - during his bday event this year, a Thai fan who went to the event (@/pannjed) said that First checked the door multiple times throughout the event for his bestie’s presence 👇🏽, and you can see his face just lit up when Khao finally showed up

Sorry, I seem to have gone off tangent, but I adore these two boys. I do not know if their relationship is platonic or not, but whatever it is, they are just so so genuine and loving towards each other (and to their fans) that I wish them the very best in life and their career .

April 2024 Progress Update

Hey, everyone!

Just popping in with another progress update for you all! I've been busy this month too, writing nonstop for both BtM and TSSW 3.

About Beyond the Mist, I finished the big branching that happens with Zach once you get to Magnustor. I also finished the big Cy scene that comes afterward!

Things are really starting to get sinister, nyehehe! Now we're about to get into the city proper, and boi oh boi are things about to get even more disturbing~

Once we are in the city proper, I estimate I will have three big scenes with each RO before the culmination. Then, the extended epilogue.

We are very much on track! I'm thinking I might be able to hit an end of 2024 release, but things rarely go as expected, so an early to mid 2025 release is probably more realistic.

As for TSSW 3, all I had left to finish Manerkol's route was one last big scene, which I have already started writing, BUT! I decided to add some more scenes with the others too, Straasa and Daelynn especially alslslsls

I have finished Straasa's, Morkai's, the mule's, the Stone's, and now I need to do Daelynn's and finish Manerkol's.

Then, the main plot parts as well as all the friendship parts and Manerkol's route will be complete! After that comes adding in the rest of the romances.

I estimate that I'll be done with the Manerkol/main plot stuff by end June. I believe that will give me enough time to finish the others before the end of 2024, which is the goal!

Eledwen's and Daelynn's romances will take the longest to write because there are a LOT of variations.

Plus, uh…there will be intimate scenes for all the routes except Elly's, the DE poly, and Manerkol. (Although Manerkol's scene will be kind of a…grey area. 😏)

But yeah, everything is rolling on with satisfactory speed! And that wraps up April's progress update~

Okay, season 1 is actually a horrible season to do this for.😞 None of the clothes she wears are her own and I can't say anything funny about the above, except that this is the only time I love Mike's beige jacket.

Next please. I already rated this outfit for Mike.😒 Cozy vibes, love the sharing, aaaaaand really not my colours. BUT! We got an optional blue jacket!👁️👄👁️ El must have found it somewhere at the Wheelers' house. Those two blues are one blue too much.😐 I'm sorry, but I rate it down to

OUR SALVATION!!!🤩🙌😭 Okay, this dress goes through so many variations, I'll rate them individually (also there isn't anything else after this, whelp🫠).

Stage 1 is a baby pink dress with balloon sleeves and a white collar, plus blonde wig. Love the pink, I'm a HUGE fan of pastels (not a lot of those in ST, BUT there are some highlights).😍🩷 All the way for poofiness too.👌 What I don't like is the collar and the ruffled fabric of the top part, but there are actually pink and green dots you can see in the 2nd picture if you squint - I think they're stars? That's a cute detail.✨ But the wig looks too much...like a wig.🧐 Compared to everything else though...Plus

A drawing referenced from one of Bokura's thumbnails, featuring Apple (@butterrdream's OC) and Luce.

Bokura is about two best friends who attempted to run away from home towards somewhere far away. They then strangely found themselves seeing two completely different worlds despite being next to each other,

Luce is the one who ends up having the vision of a very colorful world in the forest, full of smiling animals. Yet, this is also the sight that has the most gruesome spectacles of bloody twisted flesh.

On the other hand, Apple is the one who ends up having the vision of a cold apocalyptic world, full of robots and mechanical structures. Despite this, she somehow gains the ability to "fix" certain broken machines by reconnecting their "broken parts" (as long as it's not too late for them).

To emphasize the difference in what they're seeing, these broken machines are wounded living beings in Luce's eyes. While Apple thinks she's connecting these "electrical cords" back together, Luce is seeing her connect severed intestines back together. It's something like that 😃💀😃💀😃💀

I really recommend playing the game or watching a playthrough of it, to see it for yourself! (My personal pair recommendation: Auban + Sani) This is a co-op game, and in most of the playthroughs I watched, the streamers played it with their besties, which initially inspired me to draw it with Apple & Luce 🥺💖

I was so happy when Butter confirmed to me that the two different POVs the boys in the game had matched Luce and Apple's a lot! So I went through with this 🫶✨

I actually have another variation of this in my wips right now featuring Shiki & Rei, but that's for another day. Ladies first everyone! And now that I think about, it also fits Yui and Kurumi in terms of world POV difference, plus other pairs of besties in this fandom. This game concept + thumbnail composition are truly very versatile!

taking a lil break from portraits, fyi. i've posted 94 unique portraits this year (plus more variations/WIPs) so i really wanted to push myself and get to 100 by the end of the year, but i think putting that pressure on myself was making it not fun for me. i'll get back to them tho, i have a few birthday portraits this month i'd still like to get done. but i'll keep posting these in the meantime, if people like them !

The first batch of pictures for Amoré's character journal are here! Also I have been so super sick that I've literally had nothing to do but to work on this for like almost 2 weeks so...

The cover to cover tour officially starts here. All I can say about the front & back is that I lament my lack of experience with my Cricut when I made these decals. I only had 2 "fun" colors to work with at the time & I was still getting comfortable drawing in Procreate, so my silhouette art leaves a lot to be desired compared to some stuff I've made recently. I also found it's incredibly easy to burn this leather book.

But she's volume one, everything with her is a learning experience, & I realized as much as it helps to have a mini heat press for tight corners & small spaces, the cloth barrier they suggest you use between the vinyl & the iron tends to make things harder to press on this scale. So instead I gotta quickly tap straight on the transfer film & hope I don't burn anything around it :(´◦ω◦｀):ﾟﾟ

So at the risk of thoroughly exposing my inner theater kid, Amoré set the precedent with how I went forward creating campaign characters. I started off collecting 5 songs to make a mini story arc (almost like a show choir set list 🙃) that helps me figure out an outline for the kind of story I wanna give them.

Somehow Amoré ended up with a truly horrendous blend of rock & theatre. Absolutely incredibe. No wonder she's always such a dramatic bitch.

It was a lot easier to go in & add little decals around these lyrics. I'm definitely cursed with the Too Much™ gene, but I enjoy the little pops of color they give ✨ plus it justifies me hoarding all these vinyl scraps printing stuff this small lol.

In all honesty, as my first character I had no fucking clue what I was doing when I placed these & if I could go back & change one thing I'd probably swap her Intelligence & her Wisdom. She’s definitely more people smart than book smart.

But everything else is...very accurate. She has all the upper body strength of a chicken nugget. Plus on top of the (already) negative I traded disadvantage on everything DEX for magic crystal shoes that can be periodically harvested. Just a way for her to carry around the family fortune without actually having to return to the vault✨

For something that started so average, her CON became a monster & always comes in clutch for her alcohol tolerance. I've played variations of her across a few different one shots & I always manage to roll well for anything alcohol related. The dice do respect a bit 🤣

Spells on the other hand, I floundered with a lot at first because we’re not a combat heavy game, but then I found Chaos Bolt & that was that. It’s essentially Amoré in spell form & I’ve had a ton of fun with it over the years. Also Mage Armor cuz my girl is SO DISTRESSINGLY SQUISHY.

Cantrips were more or less a bit of a toss up. Message was fun for the sheer idea of her using it to talk shit during social events without being caught. But aside from Light serving fun backstory purposes the other 3 are kinda just what looked fun ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ unless you count the idea that she would absolutely delight in zapping handshakes.

From there, I wanted to extend the world map made by our wonderful DM @cappierong into a full scroll. Ya know, for the aesthetic ✨

Our campaign started in Civania, where Amoré's main Estate is. I just wanted a quick mock up to reference, so I edited a preexisting picture I found that checked all the boxes (large, on a plateau, accessible only by bridge) and then absolutely smothered it in flowers.

But anyways... This is primarily where Diana & Amoré grew up together in their decade of backstory ✨

There was probably waaaay to much back & forth trying to keep the continuity between stuff I've already drawn & this big reference. But I think it turned out pretty ok? Not like if I make a mistake anyone will really know lol.

Scaling was also another big issue I had, & I moments where I thought something was too big I just kinda handwaved it away like "ehhhhh she's from a stupid rich family." But now I have a NEED to draw baby Diana & Amoré around like, the statue gardens or something cuz I feel like certain parts of this place are definitely ominous 👀 especially for children...

And lastly we have the back cover & the High Noble political relationship map! I normally have this closer to the front but for layout purposes it'll be here. I kinda feel like I need to do more for the decoration of it but I can’t think of anything else to add at the moment.

But now! Other than a family portrait that I've always wanted to draw, I think I'm ready to move onto the art for Season 1 : Arc 2. It's a pretty hefty amount of art in comparison to others, so I gotta get busy. Especially since I think I'm gonna have to draw a few comics *sobs*
