Give, but never take,

And pray the choice to receive isn't a mistake.

Understanding the difference between façade and real,

Going crazy from not comprehending the simplicity of the emotions you feel.

Do you feel?

Is it safe for me to put myself,

Bare myself,

Expose myself,

Share the finer details of every thought and its structure:

Would you laugh?

Would you cry?

Empathise with me?

Take, but never give.

That's how you live.

That's what you do.

That's what you do.

That's what you shall do.

Self absorbed bigot that I can't help but admire,

And every word you say, I fall lower but the euphoria goes higher.

Fucking go away.

Far away.

Don't come back,

Because if you do,

I know I won't be able to hold back the tears that I've been holding in from the day I met you.

I won't be able to release myself from this mental cage you have put me in through your toxic ways.

I want to curse you but I shouldn't waste my breath on impudent souls.

I hope you come to the epiphany that you are playing such a lousy role.

Enemies will play with you gently because you charm them, but lovers see beneath the charm and play with you until you break into a million pieces,

Unable to get back up.

I have to constantly go down this spiral

That never stops spinning and my mind

Won't stop turning all because you can't just show me

How you feel for me, how you feel for others and how you act when not under pretense.

How you act when not being examined under the judgemental microscope of others.

Always talking about yourself but never giving me the opportunity to talk about myself.

Always talking about others spitefully but never giving me the opportunity to talk about others with charity.

Polar opposites,

I compliment you, and fit into your mould so perfectly.

But to try to put you into me will crack my fragile,

delicate,

exterior and chip into not gently,

but forcefully.

I just wish you wouldn't always take until I have nothing left to give.

And I wish I wouldn't give until you had nothing left to take.
