Yul: He was ostracized and bullied for his girly looks, and then he met Sian, who was not only unafraid of him despite being scared of men, she saves him from his bullies. They start dating, and he becomes more and more possessive and controlling over her, to the point where he plans to get her abusive mom to attack him so Sian can leave her, without telling Sian. She understandably breaks up with him, but then he ends up locking the two of them in a shed overnight, causing her to have a panic attack, and eventually be so traumatized she completely forgets him. Now we get to the actual main story, where after he finds her again, he disguises himself as a girl to get close to her and win her over. He ends up trying to kill himself in front of her after attacking her boyfriend, but survives.

Secret Fic Project - Official Announcement!

So this announcement was really supposed to come out yesterday and we forgot, but here it is now! @brendadaaedestler and I are finally officially announcing the secret fic that we have been working on! Mid-January, we announced that this was going to be a modern Cherik AU, and now, we can finally provide all of the details!

Title

First and foremost, a title reveal! This took us a little while to come up with, but when we finally settled on it, we knew that it was the perfect fit for this fic. So, without further ado, the title of our fic is...

Sticky Notes and Serendipity!

The sticky notes will make more sense once you all get to start reading the story, but there are some little snippets here if you look closely enough ;)

Premise

A full summary will come when we start posting the fic, but for now, the main premise of this fic is that this is a modern AU where Erik and Christine end up neighbours in the same apartment building.

Release

The first chapter is going to be going up next Saturday, February 10! Following that, chapters will be going up weekly on Saturdays.

We're so excited to finally be getting to share this AU with everyone! We're so proud of it and so looking forward to putting it out into the world for everyone to read <3

​I can't explain it in-universe how Ramin can grab the curtain AND lasso Piangi 🤷‍♀️, but in theater-magic terms I think yes Ramin grabs the curtain as Piangi exits 👀

Obvi the title song slaps, All I Ask of You is so sweet, Think of Me makes me jealous of sopranos cuz I can’t sing all the high notes, Prima Donna is fun, Music of the Night uhh did things to me lol, Angel of Music is so soothing, and Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again made me tear up a bit.

I can’t narrow it down to just one, so imma say my top three are:

poto rewritten short stories 2/6: erik's very happy birthday

in honor of read an e-book week, i'll be sharing sneak peeks of the rewrite's first short story collection (which will be an e-book exclusive out this spring)! next up is eristine being quite suspicious... ;)

 Erik sighed as he paced near his piano the next morning. The clock on the wall ticked to nine-fifteen.

"Lessons should be well underway by now," he noted. "Where do you think Christine is?"

Ayesha meowed and pawed at the door.

"Alright, I'll let you out," Erik said with a chuckle as he opened the door. "Be sure to look for Christine!" He sighed as Ayesha trotted down the pathway to the dreamery. "…Or not."

Just as Erik was about to close the door, he heard someone run across the wooden platform outside his house.

"Christine!" Erik exclaimed. "You're late!"

"I know. I'm terribly sorry," Christine apologized. "I was-" She pursed her lips. "I overslept."

Doesn't seem likely if that face is any indication. Erik thought as she stepped inside the house.

Christine acted odd throughout lessons. Her eyes wandered to the floor, she missed her cue to start singing and her voice often trailed off during long notes. Erik inquired about it a few times, but she just gave vague answers.

After lessons, Christine didn't show up at ballet practice. She usually sang for the second half of rehearsals, giving Madame Giry a break from playing the viola. Even stranger than Christine's disappearance was Meg being gone too!

They're definitely up to something, Erik thought. And I'm going to find out what.

...

 It was mid-evening when Erik returned home. He had been observing Faust rehearsals…

And now he would be observing Christine. Spying on people as The Opera Ghost was perfectly fine, but spying on Christine as himself? That was unheard of!

It's an invasion of privacy, but I need to know why they're acting so strange! Erik thought.

He took a deep breath, hoped that Christine would be in her dressing room and switched on the mirror. He pressed the silver and white buttons on the control box so he could watch and hear without being seen or heard. Lo and behold, there Christine was with Meg! She was wrapping something… but what?

"What do you think his address is?" Meg asked. "Palais Garnier Water Cellar?"

"We're not mailing this, remember?" Christine reminded her.

"Oh, right!" Meg remembered before giggling.

They must have gotten Sarah Bernhardt's book! Erik thought, his heart lifting. They're acting strange because of my birthday!

"Azizam?"

Erik gasped and switched the mirror off. Nadir was standing in the doorway!

Erik leaned back in his desk chair, removed his blue light glasses and rubbed his hands down his face to try and wake himself up. He had just spent the last three hours working on a project for a client that he desperately wanted to get out of the way—it was an entire website dedicated to duck-related merchandise and he didn’t want to look at it for one more second. He checked his phone, smiling when he saw a text from Christine, continuing their current conversation: I just don’t see why rich people need THAT much space in their houses. What do you do with it?! 

He chuckled to himself as he rose from his chair, slipped his mask back on, and walked towards the kitchen, looking for a glass of water and a pre-dinner cinnamon bun. It’s the glory of being able to afford that much space, Christine. It doesn’t matter if you can fill it, you just relish that you have it, he responded before tucking his phone back into his pocket.

The device buzzed only a few seconds later, and he quickly opened it to read the message: Still! It seems ridiculous. Especially since those people only ever have up to two children. Four people don’t need all that space, and some of them probably don’t step into some of those rooms more than once a year.

Oh, it’s ridiculous, I know. Alas, that is the world we live in, Erik said, a smile forming on his face as it so often did when he was talking to his neighbor. 

Unfortunately. Now, when am I getting my cinnamon buns? You promised I’d be getting them tonight.

Oh, you will, believe me. They’re just cooling off now, I can bring them soon.

Cool them off faster. I’m in desperate need of some cinnamon buns.

I’ll see what I can do.
