Summary:  Emma Novak never thought she was adopted. When her grandmother accidentally reveals she never was her parent's biological daughter, she asks her dad to help her find them. Castiel agrees and they drive out to Lawrence, Kansas to meet Dean Winchester.

I decided to cope with the AO3 by writing a bit on my Jegulily WIP but then I got distracted and now we have this (no idea if it's the beginning of a new WIP or a oneshot) For @castiels-husband

Castiel is bloody and the only Angel of their platoon left. A dozen of their eyes are blind, their left wing is broken, one of their heads has been twisted almost entirely off, and they don't have much grace left - so far from the host they are reliant on their own reserves and years of relentless fighting haven't given much time to regeneration and rest.

All that is worth it because finally they have found her. The rightous man. The Michael Sword.

Dean Winchester is in the middle of ripping a soul's intestines out of their mouth when Castiel finds her.

Her Soul is twisted and ugly but beneath the surface there is a light so beautiful that Castiel understands how one mere human could be the perfect Vessel for Michael.

She stares at Castiel with terror and awe and tries to flinch away when Castiel reaches for her but he manages to scoop her up in their hands, holding on tight.

Then they tense their wings and up they go.

Dean Winchester cowers in the cave of their hands so many emotions falling from her and Castiel tries to soother her with their Grace but she flinches in pain instead and they can see the Mark their attempt left on their Soul.

They have almost overcome the first Circle of Hell when Castiel can feel their Grace re-connecting with the Host and power sweeps through them. Their left wing heals, their eyes regain sight, their twisted head comes back to conciousness and finally they have enough grace to create a body for the Righteous Man.

They return to the bones of the Righteous Man and look deep in Dean Winchesters soul for the body and then atom by atom stitch it into reality based on that image.

They begin with the skin, sun-tanned and freckeled and whole, growing it around the bones. Secondly, they re-new her Bones and re-grow her rotting Organs and Muscles. Her Eyes and Hair they do last before pushing her soul - reluctand after spending fourty years without - against the Body until it enters.

Satisfied, with their work done they call out to their siblings so they know it is Done.

When they return to the Righteous Man she has gone to a Gas Station but instead of answering Castiel she lies down to rest before Calling Robert Singer.

Castiel follows Dean Winchester on her journy to first Robert Singer and then Samantha Winchester.

Samntha Winchester is already well on his way to becoming Lucifer's Vessel. Drinking Demon Blood and having relations with a Demon. Castiel finds it hard to look at her and instead focuses on Dean Winchester, her soul so bright and beautiful.

The three of them go to a Psychic and Castiel warns her but she forces them to show her their True Form and her eyes burn out.

After that Dean and Samantha Winchester go to a Diner where Demons lie and after Dean safely leaves Castiel takes care of them.

Then, when Dean Winchester is alone they try and talk to her again but once more she ignores Castiel. It is frustrating and Castiel decides that to ensure she listens they will need to procure a Vessel.

Jimmy Novak is the oldest alive member of her Vessel Line and Castiel decides she is the best option. She is very devout and loves her Wife and Daughter, wanting only that Castiel keeps them safe.

Having a Vesses is an interesting sensation. Castiel has never felt so small and vulnerable but at the same time they are more powerful than ever, now that they are able to interact with all humans.

With their Vessel procured they follow the call of Dean Winchester summoning them and finally, she looks at them and doesn't ignore Castiel.

(For those confused by the Genders: Dean and Sam are Female, Castiel (and all angels) is (are) non-Binary, Jimmy Novak is trans (mtf), the rest are (as of yet) the same as in canon)

Pre-hell Dean would've embarrassed himself so hard if they'd met Castiel back then. He was so much more playful than post hell Dean that he one hundred percent would have made a fool of himself and accidentally stumbled into a relationship and nobody would fucking say a thing to Cas because honestly who is immune to that smile.

Dean is 24 years old, and a quiet night at a California dive bar turns into a near death experience turns into a trip through time thanks to the stranger he meets in the bar. When he lands in the bunker twenty years into his future, he finds out who the stranger is — and what his relationship is to Dean’s own older self. Dean’s not sure what he thinks about this at first, but when Cas takes him back to his own time (accompanied by the older Dean, who is determined to make sure that nothing they do in the past screws up their lives in the future), he gets to know the angel, and he gets a glimpse at a future he never would’ve dreamed that he might be able to have.

In the cool evening air, Dean looks around. He’d left the Impala back parked at the dingy motel where he’d rented a room, but he’s not quite ready to call it a night. He opens his remaining beer and looks down the street to see if there’s another bar nearby that might be worth checking out, but before he can make a decision he hears the door to the bar he has just left open behind him. And he knows, he just /knows/, that it isn’t some other random patron headed home.

“What the hell is this, huh?” Dean asks, “Something about ‘not interested’ you’re not getting?”

And then the guy says his name.

“Dean,” the man begins, and Dean gets it.

“Oh, lemme guess, my dad tell you to check up on me?” Dean asks. He doesn’t wait for an answer, just begins to walk, knowing the man will follow. He’s a hunter, obviously. Explains the build, and the suit that is only meant to pass muster at a brief glance, like the fake police badge or FBI creds the guy probably carries. Dean should’ve clocked him from the start.

And for some reason John had thought that Dean needed checking up on. That he couldn’t be trusted to go it alone, nevermind the fact that he had finished the hunt his dad had sent him on two whole days ago and had yet to receive any new case coordinates from John.

To Dean’s surprise, he hears a laugh behind him. He stops, and now he does turn to face the guy again.

“No,” the man says. “I’ve lost count of how often I’ve been told I’m bad at following orders, but even if that wasn’t the case, I wouldn’t follow your father’s.”

“Oh yeah? Then how do you know my name?” Dean demands.

“You left your wallet on the bar,” the man replies, holding it up. It’s definitely Dean’s: worn black leather, secondhand from his dad, containing a meager number of bills and at least three fake IDs tucked behind a real one— well, real first name, although it gives his surname as Campbell, just in case.

“Oh,” Dean says, wondering for the second time that night if he has misjudged this guy’s intentions. Maybe he’s just a normal businessman trying to do a good deed for the day and return a lost wallet, despite the wallet’s owner being an absolute weird freak toward him. “Thanks.”

The man offers the wallet out to him, almost gently, like he’s proffering a bit of food to a scared, stray dog, and Dean steps forward to take it. “It’s your birthday,” he says, and before Dean can ask, the man explains, “I saw it on your ID. On one of them, anyway.” Dean nods. “Happy birthday,” the guy says. “I should’ve bought you a beer.”

hi! i've gotten a few new followers since i last posted a chap of this so i wanted to do a quick re-intro post as well as a chapter update. this fic is my magnum opus, my precious baby. basically it's like a million one-shots that touch on themes from canon-time spn and how they tie into pre-canon and eventually post canon. it's pretty heavy and the beginning is much more of a dean character study than DeanCas per say but we are heading there.
