“This was a mistake,” Cullen said firmly “I’m sorry”
“Cullen” Kendra stressed.
He was having one of those moods again. Those moods where everything was wrong and it was all his fault yet Kendra knew it was the furthest from the truth.
“I’m sorry I shouldn’t have indulged in my fantasies I-” He stuttered.
Kendra’s heart ached. Cullen had repressed his feelings from the moment she knew him. It took him almost two years to finally accept his feelings for her. And when he finally did a sense of relief washed over them. Their friends, especially Dorian, had known it for years, yet Cullen’s fear held him back like it did now. It held him back in the bedroom too Kendra was certain that during their cuddle sessions after sex, he was praying to Andraste begging her to forgive him of his sins. It was all quite sad really. Their session last month went further than they typically went but Kendra didn’t mind - she wanted it. Creators she craved all of him inside of her burying deep inside her sweet cunt. During Dirty talk Cullen let slip that he wanted her to feel his flesh. He wanted her to feel his seed growing inside of her until she was ready to burst with child and Kendra happily indulged.
When he got up this morning for his run her handprints and bitemarks were still fresh she couldn’t help but smile at her handywork she had never experienced that level of lovemaking it was intense yet also just as passionate at the same time. She knew that it would be a while until she experienced that again him inside of her with no restrictions no condoms just flesh on flesh as The Creators had intended. He was hard at first Kendra was almost worried that he wasn’t going to fit in despite being average-sized but in the end, they finally got there.. She knew that the next time he would be on a work trip when she would be all alone stuck in their apartment that would be her masturbation material. She smirked as her eyes caught a glimpse of the still cum-stained Dildo Cullen had used on her last night. Kendra was still in the early stages of her pregnancy yet they had already needed to be more creative with positions.
Plus Cullen wouldn’t stop treating her like a delicate little flower and it was frustrating her to no end. Of course, it was nice that he cared but at the same time, she wasn’t a doll she wasn’t going to break under his touch no matter how much he had seemed to believe that. She was always aware that through each session she could have possibly ended up pregnant there was always a chance even with birth control.
While the thought of pregnancy scared her to death she also knew that Cullen would be a great father no matter what even if he didn’t quite believe it himself that was what gave her a sense of peace at night. Kendra lowered her head. She didn’t want to press any longer she knew that if she gave the option of terminating the pregnancy Cullen would say yes but then in the morning he would regret it in a heartbeat.
“Cullen…Go to sleep you’ll feel better about this in the morning” She tried to calm him.
“But what if I don’t? What if I wake up and I still feel the same way about this?” He paused and waved his hand down at her pregnant belly which wasn’t even showing yet but she couldn’t even fit into her favorite pair of jeans.
“We’re not ready to be parents Ken. We’re drowning in debt. And what if we mess up? Mess up like my Dad did. I would never forgive myself and you know that” He wailed
Kendra pulled Cullen closer even as he wallowed her fingers intertwined in his blond locks.
“Look we’ll get through this,” She said softly as she kissed his forehead gently.
“How are you so optimistic about this?” Cullen asked as he looked up at her.
Amazement sparkled in his eyes.
“You're the one who’ll actually have to give birth” He reminded her.
Kendra smiled “I’m optimistic because I know whatever The Creators have planned for us we can face it we always have. I’m lucky remember?” She asked as he tugged at her necklace with her thumb twirling around Cullen’s lucky gold coin the one that he had given to her at the lake.
“Maker your such a cheeseball” Cullen complained as he shook his head.
"There's nothing wrong about being cheesy every now and then" Kendra teased as she witnessed a soft smile grow over his lips.
“Speaking of Chese do we still have any of that Brie left Alistair bought us from Val Royeaux?” Kendra asked.
Cheese had been her first and strongest craving so far and she blamed Alistair almost entirely.
Cullen’s cheeks turned a deep shade of red “About that-”
“Cullen” Kendra whined as she swatted him gently.
Cullen got up from the bed and kissed her right cheek pulling back with a smile.
“Don’t worry dear why don’t I go to the corner shop and get you some more while I clear this head of mine?” He asked
“Alright then. I love you” She sighed as she slithered back under the warm covers.
“I love you too. The both of you my tiny little cheeseballs” Cullen murmured as he placed his hand on her stomach ever so gently.
Fine. Kendra reminded herself as her breathing slowed and sleep overtook her. They would be fine.

👀👀👀👀 micro stories you say?
How about "presence" for Wen, "tired" for Maria, and "cliff" for Emma?
Ohh thank you! <3 The first one has a musical accompaniment since I have been thinking about Welly Boots and Wen since that music game yesterday.
(Pregnancy CW for the third one)
(Micro-Fic Prompts)
Presence
The boots were old now, the soles replaced twice over, but Arianwen still cared for the leather with meticulous consideration.
They were shoes—only shoes—but she still murmured to them often when she spread wax over the supple surface.
“I held a baby dracolisk this morning,” she might tell them, or other times, “It was a hard day. Sometimes I want to shut the door and tell them all to go away.”
Adaia was long gone and Wen knew it well. Even so, sometimes when she buffed the leather to a shine and cleaned each groove of embroidery, it was as if she could feel her mother’s presence still.
“I think I’m happy,” she murmured one day, and glanced at the pair of boots tucked under the bed, the red line of a tattoo around her finger, “I think I understand now what you meant when you told me I would be happy someday.”
The boots did not answer her when she brushed her fingers over them; they were only shoes, after all. Even so, for a moment Arianwen felt like the leather warmed under her fingers, like something soft brushed against her shoulder.
She closed her eyes softly and held them to her chest for a moment, remembering other soft touches on her shoulder, remembering bright steel and laughter and arms that held her tight. When she was done at last, she tucked them neatly under the bed, side by side, where they would wait until she lifted them out into the light again.
Tired
“Just go to sleep,” Maria told her brother crossly, glaring at him over the edge of her book. Carver, who was still growing back his two front teeth after they’d been knocked out by a nasty fall last month, straightened up and glared back.
“I’m not tired,” he insisted, puffing out his bony chest as if that meant anything. “Da said if I’m to be a fighter, I need to take care of you and Beth. Can’t take care of you if I’m asleep, can I, Mabs?”
“Don’t call me that,” she said, “and what’re you to protect me from, hm? All the books in Da’s study?”
But Carver only set his jaw and went on looking at her mulishly. Maria sighed at last and set her book aside, sliding down from the settee and approaching the chair by the door.
“Well, come on, then,” she said, annoyed at having to walk away from her book, and doused the candles in the study with a snap of her fingers.
Cliff
“It really is lovely,” Emma murmured, the sea air brushing gentle hands over her hair.
“Yes,” Cullen agreed, hovering over her shoulder, “it is. Perhaps—maybe—we could sit…further from the edge of the cliff.”
“I’m pregnant, not fragile, vhenan,” Emma laughed, and patted the ground beside her. “Come on. Sit with me and look.”
He hemmed and hawed, but after a moment her husband settled onto the ledge with her and peered out at the expanse of sea beyond. Gradually, his shoulders relaxed and his hand found hers.
“Alright,” he said, “I suppose you’re right. It is…lovely enough.”
Emma didn’t laugh at the begrudging note in the words, but she did smile when she leaned toward him and softly, softly rested her head on his shoulder.

And it's worth it
It's divine, I have this some of the time
(Click for Better Image Quality. Also, Baqir Lavellan lore under the cut!)
Baqir when he was a young adult (early twenties) spent some time in Tevinter as a spy for clan Lavellan. I think he got in posing as a gladiator of some kind because of his warrior background before being noticed by House Gallus and becoming a manservant for the family of Magister Gallus.
His goal in coming to Tevinter was to infiltrate the family and send information back to the clan in order to help slaves (especially those kidnapped from Dalish tribes) escape Tevinter. He got a little too close and fell into this sort of mutually destructive affair with the Magister's son, Altus Anton (also early twenties).
Anton was pretty reserved and calculating, as well as a very skilled Rift Mage and who was studying to succeed his father as Magister. Baqir became Anton's personal guard and stayed there as a spy and the two had their dalliances before a year later Baqir realized (whoops) he was pregnant.
Knowing that the child would likely be taken away if it was discovered she was Anton's son, and that he could not continue with this espionage further along in the pregnancy, Baqir began finalizing plans to escape with the other enslaved elves.
He narrowly escapes (doing a good bit of murder on the way out) and returns to clan Lavellan where he several months later gives birth to an adorable baby girl, who he names Rahat (meaning "rest, comfort"). Then, 15 years later, he heads to the Divine Conclave and the rest is history (He is 36 at the start of DA:I).

@dalishious made a pretty dope character sheet for BG3, which I decided to turn my hand to.
Here's others I've done before!
Arcandoria's character sheet
Moodboard
Relationship dynamic
Leshana's backstory under the cut. It's a doozy and not even all of the story I have written out.
Leshana Tavaris (Formerly Greene), her parents are Professor Abeline Greene and Count Aneirien Tavaris, the pair met in college in their respective youths, introduced by Aneirien's childhood friend and Abeline's future party member, Ze'ev Lavellan.
The pair hit it off with a small casual fling sprung between the two during their time in college, but just as Aneirien came to the realization that he actually prefers the company of men over women, Abeline came to the realization that she was pregnant. Her announcement to Aneirien had him on one knee instantly, and her laughing in his face for it. He just told her that while he loved her as a friend, he actually couldn't be in love with her despite trying, why would he think she'd want to marry him?!
Awkwardly, the pair tried their best to co-parent, despite Aneirien's parents' (Count Zathrien and Countess Iossa Tavaris of Berdusk) disapproval of the situation. Abeline's parents' (bakers Kevin and Mavis Greene) were more supportive and Leshana's earliest years were spent in the bakery with Aneirien supporting and visiting them. When Leshana was a little older, and Abeline had graduated college, Abeline set out exploring dungeons, with Leshana often waiting for her mother back in camp with a party member babysitting/waiting outside the dungeon as backup, Leshana had a very varied education in her earliest years (Hence her bardic "Jack-of-all trades" skill) but one skill she truly shined in was music, her godfather Ze'ev was a bard skilled in the lute, but Leshana found her passion in the violin and fiddle and the camp welcomed her interest in music, since it meant she was less likely to wander off in search of her own adventures. When Abeline wasn't in a dungeon, her home bases were either Candlekeep--where she would donate a number of artifacts she found or publish books on her findings--or Berdusk, where Aneirien resided.
Aneirien openly worried about Abeline taking Leshana out dungeon crawling with her, even if Leshana was never allowed further than the doorstep of the dungeon, and the pair would argue about it. Abeline seemed to think she could have it both ways, be a daring tomb raiding adventurer and a mother, while Aneirien would stress about one day getting a letter that Leshana had been skewered by a bandit or eaten by a bear. His fears became reality when at aged 9, Leshana was finally allowed inside a dungeon--one Abeline and her team had made sure to clear out beforehand, sadly, the team had failed a roll and missed a trap to disarm, meaning poor Leshana set it off. It was thanks to a teammates' quick reflexes that all Leshana lost that day was a couple of toes but the incident rattled Abeline and strengthened Aneiriens' resolve, Leshana would have a more permanent home in Berdusk with him and Abeline could be the one to visit them in her downtime. Initially, they sold the idea to Leshana as her just staying with her father until her foot healed up, Abeline having to go back out to the field for research, the parents' treated it as a trial period to see how Leshana settled in, and as much as Abeline hated to say it, Leshana flourished in a more stable environment, where she was finally able to make friends' her own age without having to leave them behind in a weeks time and so, Leshana became a permanent resident of the Tavaris household.
It was around this time that Leshana’s paternal grandfather died, leading her father to take up the mantle of Count and while the transition of power for Aneirien was smooth, things were a little odd for Leshana. She was a bastard child, one that Aneirien had taken into his home but officially speaking she wasn't a lady, or really in possession of any title, really, but Aneirien brought her to court, she was sent to the good schools and rubbed shoulders with children who did have titles. Leshana had to adapt quick to survive, gossip among the gentry can be vicious if not deadly and so she became very skilled at cold reading others and shaping herself to be the most palatable to them. Aneirien would worry about this for years, seeing it as his daughter stifling herself or even "cutting off parts of herself" to make others like her, he struggled to discourage this behaviour in her because her acting meant it was not only hard for him to call her out on it (She's just being polite/having an educated conversation about so-and-so's interest/etc) and with her social chameleon abilities, there would be times Leshana would convince her father that she was listening to his concerns. Any time she would let the mask slip, and it would be like blood in the water for sharks, any failure from her was never a surprise, considering what she is and her mothers' growing unsavoury reputation among the nobility (Some see Abeline as a gold digger who entrapped Aneirien with a child in exchange for gold, some see her as a hedonist having gotten pregnant so young and out gallivanting who knows where instead of living with her mistake and being a mother etc etc), so any attempt to be genuine from her was quickly snuffed out in favour for being the Golden Child instead.
Despite what people say about Abeline, a part of her always dreamed of being able to finally, finally go on an adventure with her, or even go on adventures herself! That's why she threw herself into her music, gaining a knack for bardic skills so as to be useful on her first quest, but then the accident happened.
When Leshana was 14 years old, Aneirien got into an accident, he himself had a fondness for arcane instruments and artifacts, he enjoyed studying them as a hobby and as part of his duties as Count to help investigate odd happenings for the Harpers in the area--it's why he hit it off with Abeline in the first place--but one such item that came across his desk was cursed or booby trapped, either way it ended in disaster the first time he picked it up, the explosion of necrotic energy left him in critical condition and clerics and doctors alike worked on him for hours to keep him alive while a young teenaged Leshana paced outside of his room, working herself up into a meltdown with worry over her father, her feelings only became more confused when a cleric was sent out of the room to grab Aneiriens' family solicitor of all things, Leshana felt hurt to be barred from her fathers' side as he lay dying but was relieved when it was decided that he would pull through, though permanently disabled, it was believed that Aneirien would be unable to have any more children due to the necrotic damage to his body.
Before that, when his life still hung in the balance, did he call for his solicitor, and with the healers as witnesses, had the paperwork made up to legitimize and formally recognize Leshana Greene and Lady Leshana Tavaris, future Countess of Berdusk. The nobility were in a tizzy following this, people scrambled to get into Leshana's good graces, others openly mocked her as simply "a pretender who got lucky", second and third sons were sent to court the future Countess and others were more concerned with what tf happened to Aneirien.
Leshana's biggest foe in the following years, was her paternal aunt, Saelasa Tavaris, who would've been Aneiriens' heir had he not brought in a solicitor, felt like this was a personal attack on her, why did he feel such a need to block her birthright while on his deathbed? She couldn't blame her brother in his state, so she blamed Leshana and let the girl know it.
Saelasa was behind most of the gossip and orchestrated scandals set out to undermine Leshana's legitimacy as an heir or any faith in her as a future Countess. Meanwhile, Leshana's own world was turning upside down, after almost losing her father, it was overnight that the world openly treated her like a completely different person all together, already a massive problem when one is barely into puberty but further exacerbated by the simple fact that Leshana's life wasn't her own anymore.
Countesses don't go on daring adventures across Faerun.
For her fathers' sake, Leshana put her hopes and dreams in a box and locked them away, throwing herself further into learning how to be a proper countess, learning about politics and management of the county, sitting in on political meetings with the Grand Duke Ravengard and such. This went on for years, as Leshana cut off more and more of herself to play politics and keep her father happy as well as take the stress of off his now frail shoulders. By elven standards, Aneirien's still very, very young, but the incident has aged him greatly. When she was 18, Aneirien sent Leshana to his alum college, officially as a "finishing school" setting, but had her enrolled in a Bardic college, hoping to keep some of her hopes alive for her, she wasn't quite sure what to make of this decision, she wouldn't really need this when she's a Countess after all, but took it as a "last hurrah" of her passions before throwing herself into politics permanently. Leshana enjoyed a level of popularity whilst at college, naturally there were the remora's hoping to gain something from hanging of off her, but many others were simply drawn to her genuine kindness, the only part of her that was real, and that she would let shine even if others side-eyed her for it. Inviting even social outcasts to sit with her at the table to chat.
Leshana enjoyed a level of popularity while at college and actually loved the course, learning history and bardic skills and acting etc etc. It was fun. Meanwhile, Aneirien was in talks about a marriage alliance with a young elven transman named Kemalen Tinúviel --a son of a wealthy merchant family, boosting both Berdusk's economy and the Tavaris' coffers. It was understood that this marriage would be sterile, simply an excuse for the Tinúviel family to put an heir of legitimacy on their shipping orders with the Tavaris family seal and the Tavaris family would benefit from the economy boost with trading. Leshana performed the violin at her father and step-fathers' wedding and was a lovely groomsmaid.
Then, to everyone's surprise, Kemalen became pregnant. Many fingers were pointed, most initially believing that there could be no way that the child could be Aneiriens' child. The Necrotic damage! But assuming Araj Oblodra isn't the only person messing with things like blood, a Faerun paternity test was issued and lo and behold, a miracle had happened and Aneirien had managed to conceive a second child! All eyes were on Leshana to see her reaction to the news, but she was busy finishing off her college courses, having extended her studies to actually cover politics and the like "while she was still young". Leshana tried hard not to think about her baby sibling until they were born. In isolation, Leshana loved her little sister Hanina dearly. But with everything else outside of that bubble, uhhhh........
There was suddenly pressure from Kemalen, Kemalen's family and other members of the nobility for Aneirien to declare his legal child as his heir, setting Leshana aside, others who had invested time and money into courting Leshana's favour didn't want that to be all for nothing, put pressure on Aneirien not to be so wishy-washy and to stay the course. Leshana tried to stay out of it, not sure what she wanted. She had spent the last 16 years shaping herself to be the perfect Countess, not allowing herself to dream of being free to do what she wants, to just be...put aside as if all of it meant nothing, was crushing for her. She felt listless and lethargic over this situation, compounded with the growing guilt as her father stressed more and more from the stress being piled up on him by all sides. Now graduated from college, Leshana was en route back to Baldurs Gate to make her way to Berdusk from Neverwinter before her ship was sunk by a nautiloid and you know the story ;P
After the events of BG3, Leshana forgoes the 2 month trip to Berdusk to see her family and headed straight south to her mothers' apartment in Candlekeep to research for a way to help Astarion with the whole "Can't go in sunlight" problem. (It's only when talking to him about her home life does she realize that they probably think she died at sea when her ship went down did she send a letter home to let him know what's up)
She grew very good at cold reading others (She got a lot of passed perception checks when interacting with the party) as a survival mechanism on how to interact with others. Honestly the tadpole group are probably the first people whove seen her without her masks since she was 9.
It's during her time in BG3 and to an extent, Astarion's influence, does Leshana learn to be a little bit more selfish and embrace her inner gremlin a little, and when she finally reunites with her father, she summons the family solicitor to formally abdicate herself from the line of succession (Part of why Aneirien dithered about it so much was because it would've killed him if he broke Leshana's heart by abandoning her like that, so part of her is still putting him first by taking that burden of off him, but she's finally free to become an adventurer like she dreamed of).

wait am I misremembering you made a post about dragon age half alf genetics? I can't find it. I thought it was interesting I forgot the wording but about the traits being dormant and stuff? Idk
Hello! Yes! I did make this post, it was an answer to another ask and I. Also cannot find it because tumblr’s search feature is god awful so I’m just going to. Repeat myself here. The original post was kind of messy anyway so here we go
Dragon Age Half-Elf Genetics Headcanon (aka: I rewrite half elf genetics in dragon age to be canon compliant in a way I don’t hate)
In Dragon Age, half elves work differently than they do in most other fantasy works that use elves and humans in that they do not exist. There are no half elves in the Dragon Age world, any elf/human hybrid comes out looking entirely human and that’s it
I, and from what I can tell the majority of the Dragon Age fandom, are not a fan of this. It’s boring, uncreative, and very obviously just there to explain how Alistair can have an elven mother despite not looking elven at all. In my opinion it’s fine on an individual basis, maybe with Alistair he does just look more human, but EVERY half-elf just looks human? Don’t like that
BUT
Supposedly, this is because elves are very magical and special and humans are not. So, because of this, when elven blood meets human blood the human blood cancels it out entirely, kind of like dousing a fire. To which I say…I still don’t like it but it’s better than “human genetics are just SO DOMINANT they EAT the elven genetics forever” throwing in a magical element at least gives us more to work with, but I still don’t like the idea that human/elf hybrids are literally always human
So. Here’s my solution
Half elves, in the traditional sense, still do not exist. The child will always look entirely human, or, more rarely, entirely elven.
See, when an elf and a human mate, and the child is born looking human, that elven blood is not gone, just dormant. Elven blood can lie dormant in a bloodline for generations before being “awoken.” This “awakening” is done in two ways: when it makes contact with more elven blood, or, the parent is exposed to strong magic
Most commonly, the blood is awoken by making contact with elven blood, usually when an elf-blooded human has a child with a full elf. This is what happens in the case of my Hawke as I like to believe the Hawkes have elven blood lying dormant somewhere in their linage. When my Hawke has a child with Fenris, that child is then born an elf to the surprise of everyone involved. It's not an unpleasant surprise just a "Huh, well that's weird"
But two elf-blooded human parents can still have an elven child. This happens to Miris, my secondary inquisitor, she was born an elf to two noble humans and abandoned near the Lavellan clan for it, claiming later the child died during birth. (unbeknownst to both her and the clan, they all assume her birth parents were city elves that could not care for her)
Unfortunately, that reaction is not an uncommon one, and that combined with the rarity of its occurrence means it’s practically unknown that this is possible
Elven blood being awoken from magical exposure is even more rare, but, surprisingly, it is better known. In fact it’s a very closely guarded secret by the Chantry.
It has been known to happen in circles. In the already undesirable case of a mage falling pregnant, there is a chance the child could be born an elf. It still is not a common occurrence in those births, but it has happened enough for the Chantry to grow paranoid at the possibility whenever its reported a mage is pregnant. The stronger the magical talent of the mage, the higher the chance. It's part of the reason accidental babies are taken from their mage mothers so quickly, the Chantry doesn't want them to realize their child is an elf.
What happens to those babies? It's... unknown. Most likely they are put in an alienage orphanage, or abandoned to the Dalish, though the truth may be darker.
There have also been cases of Templars having elven babies, which are also covered up by the Chantry. What happens to those children is up to their families discretion, the Chantry claims to have no involvement there at all.
Why does the Chantry do this? Because they don't know why it happens, or what it means for the elven race they've spent so long oppressing, and that scares them. They can't predict what would happen if this knowledge was made public, but they are too afraid of the possibility itself to risk the secret leaving their walls.
So that's the headcanon! I like it. I still like regular D&D style half-elves as well, this isn't meant to really be THE solution, just one possible interpretation. I might better tag this post so it doesn't get eaten by the search feature again...

So, for DA fans who haven't been following me long enough to know Liriel Lavellan's story -
Liriel Lavellan was originally a Fenhawke baby, that's why she looks so much like Fenris. She's from an AU where a Magehawke got pregnant and Fenris Didn't Take It Well and decided that it was too dangerous for a mage to raise a baby and betrayed Hawke to the Templars.
("But Fenris wouldn't do that!" I don't care I did this for fun it's an AU go away, I will not be taking discourse at this time, we do not apologise for the inconvenience.)
Hawke ran and went back to Lothering, then into the Wilds she grew up in. She had twins - twins run in her family, and the female twin is always a mage - and Fenris continued to pursue her. "Leandra Hawke" grew up befriending the various denizens of the Wilds and hiding from the Templars. She learned to shapeshift, but she couldn't quite get it right - the mabari form she took, its fur was the same colour as her hair, and her eyes also remained the same.
Eventually Fenris came up with the idea of using an assassin to draw Hawke's blood to make a phylactery. The assassin got Liriel instead, tossed the bloodstained dagger into the grass, and then gave Hawke a small injury when she killed him.
Fenris caught up and used the blood on the dagger to make a phylactery. Unfortunately Hawke's very survivable wound got infected because she and the children could no longer catch enough of a break to stop and rest, so she ended up sending her children away. She told Leandra that mages were free in Tevinter and that Fenris would never follow them there. Leandra never saw her mother alive again.
Her mother was wrong. Fenris followed them there and they had many near misses with him. Then slavers showed up, captured her brother Leto, and in the ensuing rescue attempt he died. Fenris never figured out that there were two children and was so full of rage he wanted nothing to do with "Hawke" ever again. All Fenris knew was that Hawke had a son who died, and she had a white mabarj.
I wanted to play her in DAI so obviously I changed the backstory a bit to make sure she wasn't, you know, three years old. I did okay her as Inquisitor but ultimately decided to make her a companion, along with @orodrethsgeek's OCs Lahariel and Mahanon. Her father is still a former Tevinter slave and her mother is still a human mage with ties to nobility.
After her brother's death when she was seventeen, Sehris (as her birth name now is) remained in dog form for two years as she was too scared to ever take her real form again, afraid that one day her father would find her and haul her to the Circle. She basically scavenged in the wilderness to survive, gradually making her way south to Nevarra and then the Free Marches. Eventually she caught the tail of Clan Lavellan, where she started stealing from them in the night and scavenging their kills.
At first she didn't let them approach her. Lahariel, who grew up with clan Sabrae and was one of its few survivors, felt an affinity with the apparent mabari as a Fereldan and basically started making sure they left more scraps for her. Eventually he managed to entice her to sit next to him at night while he fed her. He named her Liriel, after an old Elvhen war hero.
When Lavellan eventually discovered she was a mage Lahariel didn't take it well due to his phobia of mages (due to the trauma of losing his clan; for a long time he thought that the mages of the clan fell to demons by mistake and after that believed any mage could be possessed at any moment whether they wanted to or not) and had a full PTSD episode. After he calmed down he and Liriel were always at each other's throats - Liriel was terrified he'd kill her on purpose, and he was terrified she'd kill him and everyone he cared about by accident. Basically they both pushed each other's PTSD buttons big time.
Clan Lavellan did accept her as one of theirs, though she was pretty damn feral and traumatised. The Second of Lavellan, Deshanna, took her under her wing. The "ha ha ha imagine if Liriel was Keeper" jokes got a whole lot less funny when both the Keeper and First died in very close proximity and Liriel ended up First.
When the Conclave (can't remember if that's the right term or not) happened Liriel asked Deshanna's blessing to attend - she had vallaslin now but she'd never consider herself free until the Circle as a compulsory institution was abolished, and she wanted justice for her mother and father. Deshanna said no. Liriel went anyway.
After the explosion she was hanging around being a cute mabari and caught sight of this absolute fucking idiot of a mage who just TURNED HIMSELF IN TO THE TEMPLARS, LIKE A FUCKING I D I O T, in order to help. Liriel followed him around as he treated the unconscious Sable Trevelyan and found his knowledge of the Fade and Veil interesting so decided to continue tagging along, still playing the "cute innocent doggus" schtick she did with Lavellan.
Solas was initially very suspicious of her obvious intelligence but the Fereldans told him that it was normal for mabari so he eventually let down his guard.
But Deshanna didn't let Liriel go easily. When Sable and company were in Val Royeaux, Mahanon and Lahariel caught up to her and outed her as a mage. Liriel was pretty pissed off about this and was like "WHY DID YOU BLOW MY COVER THIS GUY IS DODGY AS FUCK." Meanwhile Solas was absolutely screaming internally that he'd been outwitted by this little shit.
Liriel was suspicious. She was SO fucking suspicious. Like throughout my first playthrough she was constantly picking holes in the stuff he said and did and I kept waiting for it to pay off but it never did. Then almost yeeted my computer through the window when that fucking epilogue happened because I FUCKING KNEW HE WAS DODGY.
I decided that Liriel eventually figured out there was a link between the orb and Fen'Harel based on what Solas let slip, and his obvious connection to wolves. Until the Temple of Mythal she thought he was some kind of leader of a subversive, anti-Dalish cult that worshipped the Dread Wolf instead of the Creators. But that didn't feel quite right because Fen'Harel, by his nature, was a loner - and so was Solas. She spent the entire game crawling up Solas's ass, calling out his contradictions and slip ups. He was both impressed and very annoyed about this.
When she found out that the Creators her adopted clan worshipped were actually REAL... that was when the penny dropped.
She told Lahariel and Mahanon only. Mahanon didn't believe her, but Lahariel did. The three of them kept it quiet; they'd decided by then that Solas was clearly harmless, that there was more to what happened at the Temple of Sacred Ashes than they knew (all three of them agreed he was involved, but sincerely believed that he was either not ultimately at fault or that he was and regretted it and was trying to fix it) and there was probably more to the story of him betraying the Creators than they knew about.
At the end of Inquisition Liriel determined to find the truth of history, and left clan Lavellan to seek out ancient Elvhen ruins and find the history nobody else had before. Mahanon and Lahariel went with her, inspired by the way she fought for the Dalish against Abelas in Mythal's Temple and her open defiance against Mythal herself. She resolved that the gods were never coming to save the Dalish, and Solas clearly wasn't going to assist at all, so they had to save themselves - and she'd do her part to help.
In my personal canon Mahanon stopped him from leaving, and Solas gave in to his desire to stay and help raise Celysel, his daughter by Liriel (they constantly argued but not so much they didn't fuck when bored; their relationship was nothing like the canon Solavellan relationship, though there was genuine fondness there. Solas never told her about the vallaslin and never "left" her either). What happened afterwards is a whole TLDR of its own, but the short version is he eventually came to trust the three of them and they worked to help him deal with whatever he was trying to do without killing everyone in the process.
In the game's canon, obviously he left. When Trespasser happened Liriel went to Halam'shiral with Mahanon, Lahariel and a toddler Cel. When it became obvious that Solas was involved, Liriel went to Sable and Leliana and told them the truth about Solas.
When Sable confronted Solas, he told Solas that Liriel had figured it out. Solas was genuinely, wistfully proud of her, and told Sable that her favourite Dalish legend was the one where the Dalish hunter's dog caught Fen'Harel by the tail.
I'm still deciding whether or not I'll play her for DA4.

Arikaya during her pregnancy with Ashalle.
Her time in the clan when she was pregnant was tragic. Her real family left her, her close friends tried to support her. But the faction within clan Lavellan proved to be too subtle to make them stop. While they certainly didn't mean her physical harm, every condescending stare and expectations made her hide away until her childbirth.
"It was sad, really... she never got the family she yearned for. And in the end, her child got her looks from the man who abandoned them." - Keeper Deshanna

i felt compelled to talk about these two because idk my brain loves them. but yeah heres Rinaya and Fenlen parents of my Inquisitor Adahlen Lavellan.
Their backstory is sorta convoluted and i dont have it all mapped out but so far what i have is-
They grew up in the lavellan clan together were basically childhood sweethearts and fell in love. Both hunters, Rin likes arrows Fen likes blades.
Rinaya is extremely rambunctious, impulsive, and kind of an asshole sometimes <3 while Fenlen is quiet, careful, and reserved usually. They love to hunt together. Fenlen tries to get her to sit still and learn elven history but he ends up reading aloud to her while she lovingly harasses him or does target practice.
The two of em tried to have a baby together for a while buttt it wasnt happening. Fenlen gets killed on a hunt she just happened not to go on for once and she’s utterly ruined over it. She starts trying to research demons and blood magic and goes a little crazy over it. Keeper Deshanna sends her with some other members of the clan that were going to visit the kirkwall alienage to keep her mind off of things hopefully…lol.
Surprise! She finds a despair demon and begs it for Fenlen back and the demons like “lol no but i can give you a child, you guys wanted one of those right” and shes like “yes please please give me a child thats just like him, it will be made from us right?” n the demons like “yup but youre totally gonna die later” and shes like “whatever do it”. One of her best friends tries to convince her not to, he dies coz demon gets annoyed. Eventually she returns with like a month to go on her pregnancy, people are really confused. Shes extremely sick and thin and kinda losing it a bit but is so excited for her baby. some thought she got pregnant by some rando and some were suspicious coz of the death of her friend and things said by others who went with her. She gives birth to Adahlen and dies but not before giving her kisses and a name. As a last sorta fuck you from the demon the baby looks almost exactly like herself, but she says she can feel that she will be like Fen in her heart. Adahlen has super red hair and eyes and the circumstances around the whole thing made some clan members suspicious and weary, but Keeper Deshanna raises her personally. SO UH YEAH… poor babies i love em.

Faron Eshalinev Galinae Lavellan
age as of dai: 35 (born 9:06 Dragon) zodiac: sagittarius height: 5'7 sexuality: bisexual alignment: chaotic neutral class: rogue dual wield - artificer
Key Relationships
isera lavellan (older sister)
harena lavellan † (niece)
janara lavellan † (late wife)
cassandra pentaghast (romance)
sera (friend)
blackwall (friend)
iron bull (friend)
Origin
Faron was born to Clan Galinae in 9:06, five years after the birth of his sister Isera. Three years after his birth, a disease swept through the already small clan, taking his and Isera's parents, as well as the Keeper and his apprentice. The clan was in no place to take on a mage child or train up a new apprentice so they pled for help at the next Arlathvhen.
Clan Lavellan took pity on the remaining members of Clan Galinae and Keeper Istimaethoriel welcomed them in with open arms.
Faron adapted to his new Clan easily, being so young. While his sister tended to distance herself or cling to him after the deaths of their parents.
He fell for Janara, the clan's First and the Keeper's daughter, in his twenties. And after some convincing of the Keeper and a long courtship full of gifts and bad poetry, the two were wed.
Around this time, his sister had a dalliance with a man she met at Arlathvhen and fell pregnant with his child. The fling fizzled out but she gave birth to a baby girl: Harena.
All was peaceful for awhile, Faron and Janara were happy and his sister seemed to enjoy motherhood and began to rely on her fellow elves for help. Finally starting to meld into Clan Lavellan.
Until a fateful day when a human mob stormed the camp. It was chaos and they were caught offguard, things had been quiet for so long even the scouts weren't on alert. In the end, Janara and Harena were dead.
Isera was inconsolable, her scream at discovering her daughter's body haunts Faron to this day. Faron was in shock, numb and clinging to his wife's memory even as he watched her burial.
They buried them both (alongside the other casualties) in the proper Dalish way, with an oaken staff and a cedar branch to ward off the ravens Fear and Deceit and a life tree planted on top.
Isera came to Faron the night after their burial and told him she'd discovered the identities of the humans who had invaded their camp and brought him her plan for revenge. He went along with her plan. Although the Keeper did not sanction their actions, she kept quiet.
The clan moved on but Isera continued her tirade against the humans, roping Faron into more local injustices that needed to be brought to rights. Every time, he went along without complaint.
This continued for years, sometimes with months of lull in between. After a long lull, Isera came to him with renewed fervor. Nightly, they would go out together, and Faron began to notice cracks in her stories. Often, these were innocents, but with his own grief left to fester, he couldn't find it in him to care. Janara and Harena were innocent too.
After a string of killings led to an uproar in a nearby town, Keeper Deshanna sat them both down. Either they could stop this altogether or they would be exiled from the clan. Isera left, Faron stayed.
He was stripped of his status as a Hunter until he could prove himself trustworthy again. At first, he accepted it modestly and began rebuilding his old friendships now that his sister was no longer in his ear. But time went on and on and he was still stuck in camp with the Hahren and the children and elderly when he'd rather be out with the Hunters. He'd taken on an unofficial apprenticeship with the clan's craftmaster, learning to shape ironwood, but he was itching to get back to his old life.
When he learned of the Conclave, he begged Keeper Deshanna to let him go, promising to stick to the shadows. He wanted nothing more than to prove himself to her and regain his hunter status.
She agreed. He went. The next thing he remembered was waking up in shackles.
Personality
Faron is the typical fun-loving, sarcastic rogue. He is extroverted, often laughing and making a fool of himself, charismatic. He tends to keep himself surrounded by people both for the familiarity of it (having lived a communal lifestyle his entire life) and because being alone brings in thoughts he'd rather avoid.
He struggles to sit still or have idle hands. He whittles things from wood often, he chews elfroot like tobacco (maybe it'll numb the pain this time), he paces, plays instruments, drums his fingers, anything to keep himself moving.
He is conflict-averse in his friendships and struggles to find the right words when someone does get emotional around him. He avoids talking about himself and doesn't open up much until he's gotten particularly close to someone and they've let themselves be vulnerable first.
When it comes to political conflict or battle strategy, he prefers the direct path. Prisoners are executed. People who cross him die. No second chances (except, for himself and his friends of course). It's very easy for him to compartmentalize people in his mind, to avoid the guilt of it all crashing down (though sometimes it fails).
In his relationships, he is the pursuer. In fact he's generally a terrible flirt. Faron is known to hit on anyone at a tavern or in the travel party or just in his vicinity. However he usually avoids it going any further than that. He becomes attached very easily.
When truly falling for someone, he'll shower them with gifts, bad music and poetry, praise and attention. It can be a bit much for some.

There’s a truth universally acknowledged about me, and it’s that I will make a Tori Amos playlist that relates to all my blorbos.
It’s inevitable, like me feeling the urge to draw birds in autumn. I’m currently listening to Scarlets Walk going, “hmm yes a blorbo song. This album about a Small Gods America and a soon to be pregnant woman totally fits the male Lavellan experience,” and it somehow does.

Codex Entry: Inquisitor Ambeth Lavellan (9:12 Dragon - Present)
Tw: Ambeths backstory involves a cohersed relationship with a human noble and thus sexual assault. Please do not click the 'read more' button if you are uncomfortable interacting with such content.
Born 9:12 Dragon to Clan Lavellan, Ambeth grew up in the Free Marches, predominantly in the lands surrounding Ostwick. At this time in history Clan Lavellan rarely travelled far and had good trade connections with the Eastern City States as well as many friends in the alienage's in the area.
In 9:29 Ambeth caught the eye of a married noble man from Wycome who had a 'thing' for elves. He threatened to have the clan 'dealt with' if she didn't co-operate/accept his courtship. In 9:30 she fell pregnant and the clans keeper finally found out about the coerced affair. Clan Lavellan moved further west in order to get Ambeth away from the situation and to protect themselves from retaliation from the nobleman or - after Ambeth decided to keep the child - the possibility that he would try and take the baby from her. It was common practice in noble circles at the time for half-elven bastards to be taken on as serving staff or simply 'dealt with' to avoid any societal shame that came with having such offspring.
Ambeth had her son in 9:31 Dragon near the southern Navaran border. A half human child who - after Ambeth fought to have him accepted despite his half-elf status - was raised collectively by Clan Lavellan with the rest of the clans children. Unlike practices in human cultures, Clan Lavellan is one of a number of dalish tribes who collectively raise children rather than leaving the responsibility solely up to the parents.
Throughout the 9:30's Ambeth grew and finally accepted her Valislin in 9:35 at the age of 23. She chose to accept it in honour of the God June, God of Crafts and Building. She became a well regarded hunter of her clan, proving to have remarkable skill with a long sword, something that would help her grateful when she became the leader of the fight against Corypheus in 9:41.
Known for her angry streak, Ambeth had an intense sense of duty to her clan and worked tirelessly to protect them even during the events of 9:41 - 9:42. This duty is speculated to have been born from the guilt of having to move them from their usual trade roots and the safe spaces they'd scouted for good spots to camp. While there were no recorded attacks on Clan Lavellan during their time in the West, it is well known that the Navaran Boarders and surrounding areas have operating slave rings which aim to capture elves and sell them to Tevinter.
The events that led her to the Divine Conclave are not confirmed but rumour persists that in 9:40 she found out that the nobles of Wycome would be taking a trip to Haven for the Divine Conclave. She decided to go so she could kill her sons father. This would allow her clan to go back to the East, allow her son to continue to grow without fear of ever having to deal with his biological father, and allow her personal revenge.
Before she joined the inquisition Ambeth was justifiably distrustful of shemlins and there are eye witnesses reports of her many arguments and disagreements with Seeker Cassandra Pentaghast about accepting her role as Herald and Inquisitor and her discomfort at living in such close quarters with so many humans (though this presumably changed, as not only did she lead the inquisitions armies to victory in 9:42, she also eventually married Commander Cullen Rutherford in 9:44 Dragon shortly before the Exalted Council and the disbanding of the Inquisition).

Tell us about your Solavellan's kids
Hello it's been awhile since you've sent this ask BUT I've finally got the energy to answer it
Their names are Faelan and Calla, they are twins and I call them the Dread Pups
My Lavellan, Ruwth, found out she was pregnant after Solas left her, but before he disappeared altogether. She did not reveal this to him and there's a couple reasons for that:
She was planning on waiting until after Corypheus was dead and they could discuss everything like Solas had promised her. She thought bringing it up now would only cause more pain and she wanted to avoid that
She hadn't decided if she was even going to continue the pregnancy, with her and Solas' relationship in tatters and the Inquisition's reputation on the line, she didn't want to needlessly complicate things and strongly considered ending the pregnancy for those reasons
Ultimately, she does decide to have the babies (though she didn't know it was babies until well into the pregnancy, possibly even birth, medieval times!) after Solas left she had lost everything, her clan, her calling as a keeper, her identity as Dalish, and now her lover. She saw her children as a chance to start something new, and something that was hers
Solas of course does find out, he's devastated, obviously, and hand picks a healer from his ranks to go to her and deliver the children. Ruwth has no idea, to her the woman was just a normal, well-educated elven mage
Her daughter Calla was born first, her son Faelan came seven minutes after. I'm considering writing a whole fic about her pregnancy and such like I'm doing for my FenHawke kid. I love my fankids okay.
Ruwth loves them with all her heart, they're her world, and Solas protects them all from afar
As for the twins' personalities they're kind of going through a rehash. They're old OCs, I was 16 when I first came up with them, because of that they're not. The best. In terms of their writing. So I'm rebooting them, but here's what I've got
They're kind of meant to be emblematic of the "two sides" of Solas. Calla taking after his younger, rebellious side, and Faelan taking after his older, sage-like melancholy side. They're still their own characters first, but that is an idea I'm playing with.
They're... pretty normal, honestly, for essentially demigods. So normal in fact that I like to imagine when Sera first meets them she says something like "You sure they're Solas'? I thought they'd be... weirder." But they are born with inherent magic, their magic manifesting from more or less the moment they could walk, and they're very good at old "forgotten" magic.
Calla is wild. Like I said she's rebellion personified, so she's. A handful. She always seems angry but she never knows what exactly she's angry at. She just IS. She just feels this need to go against the grind like it's her purpose. Like it's what she's made for. Ruwth is one of the only people in the world that can calm her.
She's proven exceptionally gifted at shapeshifting. Which, when you've got a kid that's always mad, her being able to turn into any animal whenever does not make it easier. She's not as good as hiding as she thinks. Her eyes never change (and she has her father's eyes), no matter what form she's in. Beyond that... no real cat could ever look so much like a person sulking in the corner
Faelan is calm. Kind of distressingly so sometimes. He's very quiet, and very curious. This means that he's really really good at wandering off completely unnoticed. He likes to explore! It's what he does! He doesn't really seem to grasp why it's so unnerving to find him staring at people going about their daily business, totally silent and unnoticed, from the roof over the garden. How did he even get up there? Best not to ask.
His gift is in dreaming. Genuinely some believe he "dreamed in the womb" that's how natural it is to him. Some people even think he seems so detached and uncaring of the world because he doesn't belong in it. This is the dream to him, the Fade is where he truly belongs. He doesn't honestly seem to understand the difference between the waking world and the Fade, it's kind of like asking the difference between day and night. Maybe it looks different, maybe one is a little more frightening, but you're just as alive, and everything is still just as there. Why does everyone seem to think of them as so separate?
So maybe they're not so normal. But listen Ruwth's live has been so weird at this point that raising two somewhat odd children is NOTHING. She is a great mother, who loves her kids for who they are.
As for Solas... the Pups are aware of him. Ruwth's told them about their father, but they don't really see him as much to them. He's not there, after all, for awhile he was almost a bedtime story. This mysterious, but kind and wise presence that is always watching over them. Like a benevolent ghost. As they got older that faded, and he became a real ghost. Their father is dead, and they never knew him.
(Or so it'll be if Dreadwolf doesn't change anything................)
