Why are people so insistent on claiming Tim was lying when he says the ‘no Buck was actually into Tommy?’
Like he says it here;
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And someone on twitter tried to tell me this was him still saying Buck was confused? Like I’m sorry but if you watch the ep objectively it’s all about Tommy. Buck wants to hang out with him, he felt he clicked with him, he wants to see him. I understand you can have your own interpretation but please don’t try say that the creator has a different one than what he intended. Eddie was the misdirect, the twist was ‘oh I guess it was you.’ And Buck and the audience had that realisation at the same time.

Josh sees Buck and Maddie in the break room and decides, heck it, he can inject himself into their sibling bonding time.
"Hello Buck, it's good to see you," Josh says, grabbing a chair and planting himself down before either of them can say anything. He opens his bento box - he's trying this whole thing, it's going okay so far but he's running out of ideas for foods - and says, "How is life treating you?"
"Pretty well, actually," Buck says with a coy smile.
Maddie snorts. She focuses on her sandwich and dino nuggets. "That's not what he was saying just now," she tells Josh, her pretty eyes twinkling.
Josh gasps theatrically. "Evan Buckley, am I not your friend? Am I unworthy of the truth?"
"Maddie!" Buck nudges his sister's hand with his own, a cute pout on his lips. Finally, he rolls his eyes and says, "Alright, fine. It's... kinda, uh, not great."
He looks a little dejected, even, but Maddie doesn't seem too concerned, so Josh aims for the middle with his response. "What's the matter?"
"I kinda wanna...sndsmnstotommy." The last words are so mumbled that the only thing Josh makes out is "Tommy".
Josh is a great listener. He is literally a professional at listening to people. "What was that?"
Buck rolls his eyes and plops his chin on his hands on the table. "I wanna send some pictures to my boyfriend."
"Hot pilot boyfriend," Maddie says, fanning herself.
"I'll take your word for it," Josh says, having only seen photos of him in dirty turnouts and mussed hair.
Buck frowns at them. "He is hot. Look." Unlocking his phone, he swipes through some pictures. "See?"
"Oh, he is very hot." Josh is happy to be proven wrong by a picture of a buff older man in a tight navy blue tank top and jeans, with smears of engine grease on his very muscular arms and a smudge over his cheek. That profile alone... There has to be some sort of deity smiling down on the Buckleys, giving them incredibly handsome partners after their shitty childhoods.
Buck sighs dreamily as he gazes at the picture. "Yeah. I haven't seen him for more than twenty minutes at a stretch for nearly three weeks." His pout returns at full force. "Dumb wildfires. I am declaring them homophobic and biphobic."
Josh pets Buck on the head in sympathy. "So you wanna send him pictures? I bet you have lots of nice ones with Maddie and Jee and your friends."
"Not that sort," Buck says, his cheeks flushing.
Then Josh gets it. "Ah, nudes. Good and reliable communication methods for long distance relationships."
Buck buries his face in his hands, but the tips of his ears are still bright red.
Laughing now, Maddie ruffles the curls on top of his head. "I can't give you much advice since I don't get sent nudes," she says, giggling, "and I wouldn't know what a gay man would like to see, so why don't you pick Josh's brains here?"
Josh beams at Maddie. "I like this assignment."
"He's taken, remember that," Maddie warns, wagging a finger at her friend as she heads to the sink to wash her hands.
Josh puts on a wounded air. "I don't poach. And I give great advice." He returns his attention to Buck and says gleefully, "Alright, first things first: is your Tommy a legs guy, an ass guy or a chest guy?"
Buck lifts his head enough to glare at him. "I'm not gonna gossip about him with you."
"Fine. Spoilsport. Anyway, post workout selfies sans shirt, always a winner. Low angle shots up your torso, especially since you are built like a fridge, that should work too. Oh, post-shower photos when your skin is all scrubbed and pink? Highly recommend." Josh lowers his voice and says, "Dick pics are really good if you don't show all of it, keep him wanting more, but make sure to encrypt them if you can, and warn him to go somewhere private so he doesn't open them in company."
Buck hides his face again, but then he takes a deep breath and sits straight up once more. He seems determined not to look directly at Josh, however. "Thank you."
Grinning, Josh digs into his bento. "You're welcome. Now, tell me what you're willing to share about your boyfriend. Oh, and welcome to this side of the rainbow by the way. I'm very proud of you."
Buck does look at him now and ducks his head shyly. "Thanks." He licks his lips (Josh doesn't think too much about those lips) and starts saying, "Well, Tommy's a pilot at the 217..."

there's something about being with tommy after a bad day at work that automatically makes buck feel better. tommy listens to all of his complaints. he asks questions and makes comments like "that sucks" or "I don't understand how the guy hasn't been fired yet." he doesn't offer up much advice beyond "don't do what I did" but somehow it's exactly what buck needs. because buck doesn't need advice, he doesn't need someone to fight his battles for him, but he needs someone to listen to him and understand him and, well, kiss him until he forgets. which tommy does really well.
and it doesn't get past buck that tommy's never the first to make the move toward kissing. he'd happily sit and listen to buck complain all night long. he'd hear about the crap gerrard pulled and how it seemed to roll off everyone else's backs easier than it did his own. buck's never dealt with this kind of person before. sure, he's had his share of difficult people pass through his life, but nothing like this. he's never been in the crosshairs of a bigot like the others have. he wasn't an idiot to the fact that homophobes (or biphobes to be more specific) still existed but it was something he fought against as, yes, an ally. not as a member of the community. it hit different, it hit hard, and it hurt so fucking bad.
but tommy always let buck take the lead on when talking turned to kissing turned to heading to the bedroom and stripping down. he lets buck decide if he wants to fuck or get fucked or suck or get sucked or sometimes all of the above. and it's not that buck goes over after each shift with the intention of it leading to sex, but the fact tommy listens is actually such a turn on that he can't help himself (not that tommy ever complains, thank you very much). and afterward, when they're lying in bed and buck is trying very hard not to think about his next shift, tommy always presses a kiss to the top of his head while he runs his fingers through his curls. he'll whisper out a "it'll be okay, evan. it'll get worked out." and yeah, the words might be said just to make him feel better, but damn, it works! buck ends up falling asleep each night peacefully beside a man he's pretty sure he'll spend the rest of his life with.

bang chan
"someone told me my room has bisexual lighting once." chris flopped down onto his bed, hands coming to rest on his stomach. "i think it was felix, actually."
this was the first time you'd ever stepped foot into his bedroom. you'd seen it before on late night video calls, but you'd always paid a little more attention to your sleepy boyfriend than the lighting. felix had been right, though: the pink and blue lighting came together to make purple in such a pretty way. it oddly felt like fate that you wandered into his life, even though he didn't know.
... did he? no. he didn't know. you hadn't told him. but he could have figured it out. why else would he randomly mention the bisexual lighting thing?
"so?" he peeked up at you, watching the idle way you'd started looking around his room. "do you like it?"
"it's very you," you said with a soft hum. "kinda small, though."
"ah, well, yeah," he stretched his arms out, enough that he could reach the window if he boosted himself toward it a little. "this is the smallest room in the apartment. felix needed enough space for his gaming setup, and since seungmin is sharing a room with jeongin..."
you could connect the dots for yourself. "how sweet of you," you giggled. you sat down at the end of his bed, drawing your legs up so you could sit criss-cross next to him. your heart already started to pick up as you decided that this was it. it would be better to rip off the band-aid, wouldn't it? if chris wasn't the guy you thought he was... "i do like the lighting in here, though."
"oh, yeah?" he'd reached over to take your hand. "bisexual lighting. blue and pink are a really good color combination, i think."
"bisexual lighting, bisexual girlfriend..." you hummed to yourself, trying to act as casual as you could despite the way your heart was racing now. "seems like you just have a thing for bisexuality."
chris looked up, studying you for a moment. a moment later, he just smiled. "i guess i do," he said. and then he yanked you down so that you came crashing onto his chest, and he wrapped his arms around you. "funny how that works out, hm?"
you just rested against him, watching the way he giggled to himself a little. he didn't seem offended in the slightest, which was good. "chris, i..."
he looked at you with a him. "is something wrong?" he paused, "did... did i say something wrong? i swear, i didn't mean to make you think i suspected something or wanted you to come out already—"
you shook your head. "nah. i know that." gently, you patted his arm. "i'm just glad you're you."
he shifted enough so that he was sitting up, you still in his arms, and he leaned in to kiss your temple. he nuzzled the side of your cheek, before planting one soft kiss against your lips. "i'm glad that you're you, too, angel."
lee minho
minho found you curled up in a bedroom upstairs in his house, hyperventilating. he heard what was said just as you did, so he knew... but he made his way over, kneeling down in front of you. this wasn't the first time he'd found you in the middle of a panic attack. but this time, he knew you better. he knew how to take care of you. once you were calm, he'd treat you to whatever you wanted before going home. it was the least he could do.
"can i touch you?" he said softly. when you nodded, he reached up to take your hands. "i'll count. all you have to do is breathe."
despite it, you started to babble out apologies. that you were going to tell him, really, but you wanted to do it on your own time and—
minho squeezed your hands. "i'm not angry at you," he promised. "it's okay. let's calm down together."
without giving you the space you would use to get carried away again, minho began to count. despite the hiccups and the fact you felt like you could start crying all over again, you shut your eyes and tried your best to calm down. his voice was soft and even, slowly counting from one to ten and back down again. you didn't know how many times he did it, to be honest. all you knew was that once you could breathe again, minho had reached up to pull you into his arms.
"it's okay," he whispered, pressing a lingering kiss against your temple. when he drew back, it was to look you in the eyes. "i love you. if you want me to forget what i heard, i will."
but other people won't. you wiped at your eyes. "minho, i..." you hiccuped again. no doubt your makeup was ruined at this point, and you'd made a point of making yourself look cute because this was supposed to be a fun night out.
"we can go down the stairs toward the back and go around the house," minho ran his thumb along your knuckles. "no one will see us."
you nodded slowly. "okay, but..." with another hiccup, you reached up to cup his cheek. "can... can i say it? and we can just pretend it's the first time you're hearing it?"
he nodded. "whatever you need."
with a deep breath, you pushed away those lingering nerves. "hi." you blinked back tears. "i love you. i'm bisexual. i hope this doesn't cha—"
"it doesn't." he leaned in to kiss you, soft and sweet and short. "it never would, honey."
your breath hitched at how tender he was treating you, always so loving and soft when you needed him to be. minho could tease you endlessly at times, or he could be blunt and funny and weird... but he was one of the most loving people you knew. the light caught your couple's ring just right, and it felt the universe was sending you a reminder that you'd made the right choice in being with him.
"i love you," he said in a low voice, and he brushed back a strand of hair from your face. "thank you for trusting me with this." he stood up, gently tugging for you to stand with him. "let's go home."
before he could move, you pulled him back into your arms. the two of you just stood there, holding one another for as long as you needed to face the world again.
seo changbin
you weren't sure how the two of you ended up on this topic. one minute, changbin had been telling you about a recent outing he had with a friend. the next, the two of you were talking about your past relationships. changbin had been tracing his fingers alongside your arm idly, talking about a high school girlfriend when he finally turned the topic around on you. he'd been nervous the first time he kissed her, heart racing and everything. he'd been nervous the first time he kissed you, too, apparently.
"you dated before you met me, right?"
ah. shit. either you had to outright lie about your past relationships, few as they may be, or... just tell him. one of your friends had always been insistent on you telling the people you dated up front about your identity, just to weed out the bad ones. but you'd always ended up shying away from the idea a bit, especially when you ended up attached to people. and changbin...
well... it'd been a little too easy to get attached to changbin. ever since the night he'd asked you to officially be his girlfriend, all starry-eyed and blushy, you'd sworn you fell for him then and there.
"yeah," you said, not meeting his gaze. "i dated a little, yeah."
"well?" he watched you curiously. "am i better than those guys?" he'd teased you, smiling a cute smile that always left you wanting to kiss him.
you glanced up, watching him for a second. "well. guy and girl, but yeah, i'd say you're pretty cool."
he blinked once, then twice, and seemed to take it in stride. "ah." he toyed with the bracelet around your wrist. "so... you're...?"
"bisexual. i've known since middle school," you shrugged. "is that a big deal?"
"no!" he quickly shook his head. "i was just curious. i heard that people use different labels, so..." his fingers brushed against your skin now. "i wanted to know. is that okay?"
the earnest way he asked you made you snort a little. "more than okay," you leaned in to kiss his cheek. "thank you for not freaking out or anything. the last guy i dated got weird about it and asked if i was straight when i was with him." you rolled your eyes. "i was young and stupid, so i didn't leave him when he asked, but i think it was a huge reason in why i did break things off."
changbin reached forward, drawing you closer to him. "well... i'm glad you did." he smiled at you, cheeks turning pink. "thank you for telling me, by the way," he squeezed your hips. "i trust you a lot, too."
with a giggle, you closed the distance between the two of you. truly, you'd lucked out with getting someone so cute into your life.
hwang hyunjin
"i like the colors of this one." hyunjin leaned over to where you had sketched out a embroidery design again on paper. he'd tapped the one in the colors of the bi flag, a sketch you'd done purely for your own self-indulgence while testing out colors, and something about that made your heart leap into your throat. "they look the prettiest here."
all you had meant to do was ask hyunjin for a second opinion on the colors for the flowery design you'd put together. you'd already set the design itself in stone days ago, but ended up spending way too much time that same afternoon drawing it out over and over with colored pencils to get an idea of how you wanted it to be composed. nothing seemed to make you happy, so when hyunjin came over to spend a cozy night in with you... you figured why not get your artistically inclined boyfriend to give his opinion?
"oh, really?" you tried your best to sound nonchalant about the whole thing. "you think so?"
he nodded. "i like the pastel ones, too... but this one is still the prettiest," he rested his head in one hand. "it's like that sunset we saw once... the one i took a picture of?" he traced the tip of his finger over the paper, careful not to smudge anything by accident. "you've always liked those colors, too."
that evening, you'd stepped out of a restaurant ahead of hyunjin. the sky had been a beautiful mix of blue and pink and purple, and you'd stepped a little farther to stand in awe of it. hyunjin snapped a picture of it (and you), and saved it as his phone background for a while. you didn't have the courage to tell him why you'd been so entranced by it. but this time...
"yeah," you said softly. "hyunjin, can i tell you something?"
he looked up, and you could already see how concerned he was. "did i say something bad?"
you shook your head. quietly, you reached for his hand, and held it within both of your own. "i like those colors because they're the same colors as the bisexual flag... so they mean something personal to me."
he glanced down at your hands for a moment, a bit clueless as to how serious the conversation had turned. "okay...?"
as much as you loved hyunjin and his witty, sometimes sarcastic brain, you swore his brain was always a step behind when you were even slightly touchy with him. he'd told you once that you made it hard to concentrate, but that had been in your early days of dating. "do i need to say it directly?"
he shook his head. "you're bisexual. right?"
you nodded. "is... is that going to be a problem?"
another shake of his head. "no," he said. "but thank you for telling me," he said softly. "i... should show you something."
he drew his hand away from your own, pulling his phone out of his back pocket. all too easily, he pulled up a picture he'd taken of a work-in-progress watercolor painting. you could clearly make out your silhouette against that sky. hyunjin's face had started to turn red.
"i was going to surprise you, but..." his eyes were softer as he gazed at you. "i want you to have it when i'm done. okay?"
"it's already beautiful," you cupped his cheeks, drawing him toward you. "thank you, darling."
han jisung
"i'm bisexual. it's okay if you want to leave me because of it."
the second sentence had broken his heart the moment he heard you say it over the phone. that was why jisung told you to wait for him: he'd be at your apartment within the next thirty minutes, if public transport was kind to him. all he had done was promise that he wasn't breaking up with you, just to hopefully set your mind at east. why had you chosen to do this over the phone...? he shook his leg as he sat on the bus, mind racing with possibilities. is it because you didn't trust him to react well...? or had you been too scared to do it any other way, so this was the easier way? he wasn't sure. all he could hope was that you trusted him either way. the last thing he wanted to do was make you feel like you weren't safe to be your most authentic self with him.
he ended up racing up the steps of your apartment complex, grumbling about how today, of all days, the elevator was out of order. not that it mattered. even if it left him winded, he pushed through it to end up at your door. and when he saw your face again, he saw a mix of emotions had built up inside you. a sense of relief that he was, indeed, there before you. a sense of fear because he'd raced there as fast as he could (to your knowledge)... to do what? to say what?
"i love you." he said, still a little breathless from the rush there. "and... and i accept you. and—" he reached into his pocket. "i made you this."
it was a small beaded bracelet he'd managed to string together quickly with the help of felix. he didn't explain the color choice: all he said was that they were colors you liked, and felix had accepted the reason easily enough. pink and purple and blue hearts, cute as could be. it needed to be cute: it was for his love, after all.
tears welled up in your eyes as jisung stretched the bracelet over your wrist. he kept your hand within his own, his touch as gentle as could be. "thank you for telling me," he said. "and... and i'd never leave you just because of who you are. i... i'm sorry if i ever made you think that."
you shook your head quickly, tears rolling down your cheeks. "i just... you... wouldn't have been the first to do it."
you could see the way jisung's heart broke in his eyes, his gaze so soft as he watched you. "oh. honey..." he reached up, cupping your cheek. "you don't have to worry about that. okay? i love you."
the tender way he said it to you now just proved how much he meant it. despite the fact that he was still standing in the hallway outside of your apartment, you stepped forward so that you could kiss him right then and there. the beads pressed into your wrist, a tiny gift to remind you just how much he cared. how quickly had he pulled it together...? you'd have to ask him later. but you drew back, smiling through your tears.
"i love you, too," you said softly. "thank you."
felix lee
"are you going to marry sebastian again this game?" felix's little character sprinted across your screen, making a last ditch effort to throw things into the shipping bin before the day is over. "i can save any stuff he likes if you are."
"nah. he's all yours." you tugged your blanket closer to your shoulders. felix hadn't said anything yet, so... maybe he didn't see the dish you left at his place? "hey, sunshine? did you get any water?"
"huh?" he looked up at his camera, gazing at you for a moment before looking over at his water bottle. he picked it up, gave it a slight shake, and then his head fell back. "shit."
"finish off this day," you said. "i'll wait."
as soon as he hopped into bed, the two of you were greeted with the end-of-day shipping screen. the day's earnings ticked up, and you watched as felix unraveled himself from his blankets and promised he'd be back in a few minutes. quietly, you watched him leave the room, door left open as he went to get water.
and you began counting down. he'd walk into his kitchen, go to refill his bottle... only to find the baking dish covered on his countertop. he'd ask himself how he missed it, and then—
"did you come by earlier?" felix was already coming back in the room, toting the thing in his hands. "you didn't tell me."
"i just dropped something off," you rested your head in your hands. "wore a mask the entire time. there's soup in the fridge, too."
he pouted as he looked up at the screen. "you didn't have to do that. you can't be cute when i'm sick like this..." he sniffled, and then ran a hand through his hair to push it out of his eyes. "are these lemon bars?"
less than a minute for him to call you cheesy, counting down now. he popped open the cover, only to stop and realize you'd spelled something out in powdered sugar. he looked up, staring at you for a minute.
"baby... did you literally just come out to me using lemon bars?"
"what, was i not supposed to?" you were fighting back a smile. you knew felix would be the one person you could one-hundred-percent trust with pulling a stunt like this. "but... yeah," you watched him. "you know how i've been weird lately? it's... kind of because of this." chewing the inside of your cheek, you watched him. "i just... i dunno. i've known for so long, and i feel like i should have told you sooner, but... i just really love you, you know? and i—"
felix stopped you before you could go on, "you don't owe me anything. so... don't say you should have told me sooner. it's your choice," he said, firm as he could be with you, "and you shouldn't make it based on what you think i do or don't deserve."
you blinked back tears. how did you get so lucky...? not every time you've told someone about your bisexuality went this well. fuck, some former friends were cruel to you over it—saying all the biphobic bullshit you'd seen ten times over online from complete strangers, even though it had never been directly aimed at you. the only reason you felt safe talking to felix about this now was because he'd been so warm and welcoming, and so normal about saying the words "her girlfriend" when telling you about some friends he'd met online.
all of a sudden, you were booted out of the game. before you could say anything, you could see felix gathering his things.
"i'm coming over," he said. "i'll—i'll wear a mask the entire time so you don't get my cold. i just... i wanna see you. is that okay?"
you nodded. "i'll be waiting."
kim seungmin
"... and so he broke up with her because she told him she's bisexual," you said, head resting in your hand. this entire story was an elaborate lie, but you needed to gauge something due to recent realizations you'd had about yourself. you just needed to know if seungmin would think that it was fucked up. it wouldn't guarantee your safety with him (nothing would, except you actually coming out), but it'd at least give you hope.
seungmin looked up. "really?" he'd been scrolling through social media on his phone. "what year is it?" he frowned. "it wasn't like she'd cheated or anything, right?"
something about the question twisted your stomach, the harmful stereotype nipping at the back of your mind. you spoke without hesitating: "being bisexual doesn't mean she cheated. it doesn't mean anyone is more likely to cheat."
"that's not—" seungmin paused, shaking his head. "no, you're right. i'm sorry. it's not what i meant, but..."
he didn't say anything further, but the way he was looking at you told you that seungmin was starting to figure things out. whether he'd figure out the story was a lie was more up in the air. but the quick way you'd defended this person you made up. "he just... said she was too confused for him," you lied. "that he didn't want to be with someone indecisive."
seungmin nodded slowly. "i think that's cruel." he watched you carefully, lips pressed together as he just... waited for you to say anything else. "is that—"
"i'm bisexual." the words slipped out of your mouth before you could think twice about it. "and i made the story up. i—i know testing you was wrong, but i wanted to know before i said anything so, i... i just..." tears brimmed your eyes, betraying you all too easily. why were you crying?
seungmin set aside his phone, moving in to wrap an arm around you. "i kind of figured that it was a lie," he said quietly. "how long have you known?"
your face heated up. why would he ask...? "kind of recently," you admitted. "i mean... i always kind of had girl crushes, but i kept thinking that they weren't as real or as valid because i never acted on any of them because i was too shy." it'd taken you a while to unravel those feelings, to fully accept that your attraction to women was just as valid as your attraction to men. but learning to accept it had been so, so important to you. "i'm sorry i didn't tell you sooner, but—"
he shook his head, hands finding your own after a moment. "you're getting upset," he said, calm and steady as ever. "i think we should calm down and then talk about this."
you pulled one hand away so you could roughly wipe at your eyes. "so you're not mad...?"
"why would i be mad?" he frowned at you. "it's your identity. not mine. it doesn't change how you feel about me, right?"
you shyly nodded.
"then why would i be upset?" seungmin reached up to brush a strand of hair from your face. "i'd only be upset if you broke up with me because i love you. not because you're bisexual."
sometimes you appreciated how matter-of-fact seungmin could be. you'd seen the twinkle in his eyes whenever he was teasing you, but seungmin had always been good about fully stepping back and being straightforward when you needed it the most. slowly breathing in and out, you focused on calming yourself down entirely.
"i love you," he said firmly. "and... i'm glad that you choose me. it's sweet."
you were choosing him. it was such an obvious sentiment that you'd always felt, even when you thought you were only "truly" attracted to men, but it oddly meant more to hear him say now. he was acknowledging your attraction to others as equally valid, wasn't he? you just leaned in, pressing a tiny kiss against his cheek.
"of course," you said softly. "i'd always choose you, silly."
yang jeongin
"what flag is that?"
the world seemed to stop around you. jeongin had been stretched out on your bed (the first time he'd ever been in your room, actually), waiting for you to finish an essay for one of your classes. the two of you were going to go out for dinner to celebrate six months together... and now jeongin had noticed the one thing you feared could end your relationship then and there. you were out and proud with your friends, with your housemates. but jeongin? you hadn't told jeongin yet. you were going to, at your own pace, but now felt a little soon...
so you decided to play dumb, looking away from your laptop. "what flag?"
jeongin just pointed at the little enamel pin frame you had, half-filled with pins. one of them had been a gift from your best friend after you came out to her: a little heart with the colors of the bi flag on it that she ordered that same day and gave to you a week later. you wore it to pride when you went with her last year, but you mostly kept it on display out of fear that you'd lose it. sure, it was easily replaceable... but the meaning behind it made it too sentimental to you to even risk it. you blinked, unsure of what to say.
jeongin rolled onto his side, watching you. "what country is that? is that a country's flag?" he rested his head against his hand. "the colors are too cool for that."
in any other situation, you would laugh. you reached out instead, fixing the pin from where it was a little crooked. "it's a bisexual pride pin. it's, uh, got the flag on it."
"ah." he nodded, looking at it. "i like the colors. they're pretty." he looked up. "is it yours?"
was this his way of letting you lie to him if you wanted to...? you looked at jeongin, and quietly nodded after a moment. "yeah," you said, ignoring the way your nerves were frazzled. no point in holding back now. "it's mine. my best friend gave it to me when i came out to her," you turned back to your laptop. "i usually wear a more subtle one, but... i didn't wanna lose this one, so..."
he nodded. a moment later, he reached out to stop you from typing away at your laptop. "are you okay?" his fingers came to rest on your pulse point, and you realized the ass was straight up checking to make sure you were okay. "oh, wow, your heart is racing."
"i just came out to you, you jerk," you playfully swatted at his arm. "of course my heart is racing."
he chuckled, "i thought it was just because i'm here." another playful swat at him sent him into giggles. "i mean it, though... are you okay?" he sat up, tugging one of your pillows into his lap. "you didn't have to tell me. i'm glad you did, because i really like you, but you could have lied if you weren't ready and i wouldn't have been upset."
"i wouldn't have done it if i wasn't ready," you said. "i trust you, jeongin." you turned after you saved the final draft of this essay one last time, reaching out to cup his face. "okay? let me submit this and then we can go out."
"okay," he turned his face so that he could kiss the side of your thumb. "but i want to buy dinner."
"jeongin—"
"coming out is really big, right?" his eyes were twinkling a little as he smiled at you. and when you nodded, he just kissed the side of your thumb again. "so i'll buy dinner tonight. we can split it next time."
instead of turning back to your laptop, you rolled your chair over so it was next to the bed. leaning in, you planted a soft kiss against his lips. "you're sweet," you said when you pulled back. "thanks, jeongin."
"of course," he said, voice softer than before. "i love you—" he paused, catching himself, "i really like you—"
you let him go as he changed the topic abruptly, pretending that he didn't just drop the big "L" word in one of the cutest ways you could imagine. instead, you just made plans to tell him you loved him when he walked you home tonight. just so he knew he wasn't alone in that.

ATSUMU MIYA knows he's fucked. Being comfortable with being openly bisexual earned him some respect as an athlete and a few biphobic insults on the internet, but he wasn't greatly affected by whatever people thought of him. He's confident with his sexuality. So, when Sakusa Kiyoomi introduced you, his fiancé, to the team, he realized how it was going to bite him in the ass.
It was astonishing how Sakusa was all right with introducing you to the team, after all, he was a private man. He keeps his personal life completely separate from his career as an athlete. Others in the team such as Bokuto and Hinata, thought it was endearing that Sakusa is willing to open up to them and introduce his future wife. You had a personality opposite to Sakusa. You were pretty, great with jokes, and clever. Atsumu couldn't help but get hooked, no wonder you got Omi-omi wrapped around your finger.
Now, Sakusa was an incredibly hot guy, it was a fact that is difficult to deny. Albeit, aloof and not afraid to tell the truth no matter how brutal, Sakusa was intelligent and talented. His picturesque features were just a bonus. Atsumu just finds it cruel how he's drawn to the wing spiker ever since he joined the MBSY Black Jackals. Sure, he had a tiny crush on him back during high school, but he didn't expect it to resurface and develop quickly once he became an adult.
Atsumu thought it was downright fucked up how you and Sakusa arrived at the outing, violently ripping the air out of his lungs with how fucking gorgeous you both looked. Atsumu thought Sakusa wasn't attending the outing, but god he was wrong. While everyone was busy laughing and talking with you as Sakusa contently listened with a subtle smile, Atsumu had a gorilla grip on his can of Coca-Cola. He's sweating and his eyes persistently watch you and Sakusa.
God, he couldn't explain what he was experiencing. Envy? Longing? Come on, he was a hot and openly bisexual man, he could easily get anyone he wanted. But what if the one he wanted was already taken? Or rather, what if he's also attracted to that person's fiancé?
"Hey, Atsumu, you doing all right?"
You tilt your head to the side and Atsumu merely chokes on his soda. He smiles and gives you a thumbs-up. He could've sworn he saw Sakusa smirk in the corner of his eye. The outing went on with Atsumu subtly trying to spend more time with you and Sakusa.
Atsumu felt flabbergasted when Sakusa invited him to your wedding. It was next week. Atsumu had to bite his tongue when Sakusa looked so shy and all flustered when he extended the invitation to him after practice.
"[Name] insisted that I should invite you and the rest of the team"
Sakusa mumbled it was illegal how a six-foot-three brooding man could be adorable. Of course, Atsumu accepted the invitation and proceeded to spend his days preparing for the big day. It's not like he was trying to steal the show like he usually does, he just wanted to get your and Sakusa's attention and leave a lasting impression.
The wedding rolled by. Frankly, Atsumu felt nervous that he didn't prepare enough. But after seeing you and Sakusa kiss at the altar, he felt a burst of joy mixed with longing. Now, the party began. Atsumu grabbed the nearest alcohol and chugged it down, he tried to distract himself by actually having fun. He danced with Bokuto and Hinata as he kept the party alive. As the bride and groom approached the dancefloor, all the alcohol in his body dissipated.
Atsumu's throat felt incredibly dry as his heart leaped out of his chest. Both you and Sakusa looked so fucking good it's making him absolutely weak. You toothily smiled at him, it displayed sheer joy. Sakusa spared him a smirk, showing his dimples. Atsumu needs someone to check his pulse real quick.
"Atsumu!"
"Congratulations, [Name]! So, how does it feel to be a Sakusa?"
"Fucking fantastic"
"I'm gonna wait til ya regret that"
"Miya"
Sakusa frowned at him which made both you and Atsumu laugh. Nonetheless, Atsumu pulls you both on the dancefloor. He watches you gleefully dance your heart out, Sakusa was even letting himself loose and get lost in the lively music. It made Atsumu's heart throb with delight. Eventually, the music transitioned into a soft melody. Everyone exited the dancefloor as the bride and groom had a moment. The shared smile on both of your faces as you held each other, swaying along to the music, brought that weird feeling back to Atsumu.
He pouts and spends the entire event drinking until he gets wasted. He wasn't sure how he ended up in the backseat of a car and carried into a bedroom, but that's all he recalls before he passed out. Atsumu wakes up to the most painful hungover since his college days.
"Ugh, fuck"
He tries to sit up. The bedroom didn't belong to him, so he wasn't home. He was still dressed in his tuxedo. He found a bottle of water and pills on the nightstand, there was a note left beside it. He squints his eyes.
Here are some pills for your hungover :) - [Name]
There are spare clothes for you in the closet, dumbass - Sakusa
No fucking way...
Atsumu takes the pills and frantically gets changed into a large white shirt and a short cotton shorts. He takes a deep breath and exits the room. The smell of bacon enters his nose making his mouth water. He shyly trudges into the kitchen to see a shirtless Sakusa cooking breakfast only wearing grey sweatpants.
Oh dear lord help him
"Uh, good mornin'"
Sakusa turned around and put two pieces of bacon on a plate filled with eggs and rice, there were three plates available. Sakusa squinted his eyes at him and sighed.
"You idiot"
"Ya didn't have to take me to yer home so I wouldn't have to ruin you and [Name]'s honeymoon, Omi-kun"
"You could've gotten hurt. You were stumbling and tripping over your own feet last night. If my wife didn't see you throwing up on a potted plant, you would've gotten kidnapped"
"Look, I'm sorry"
"Tsk"
Sakusa clicked his tongue. Atsumu tried not to stare at his delicious pectoral muscles. The sound of the door closing catches his attention. All air gets violently knocked out of his lungs because you were only wearing an oversized shirt all the way to your thighs, one of your smooth shoulders was exposed. You were yawning and rubbing your eyes as you approached the kitchen.
"Good morning"
"Good morning, darling"
You go over to Sakusa who gives you a kiss on the lips. You turned to Atsumu and smiled.
"Good morning, 'Tsumu"
"Go-good mornin', [Name]"
"How are you feeling?"
"I'm okay, thanks for, uh, taking care of me"
"No worries. Let's go eat breakfast!"
The three of you shared breakfast. Atsumu's eyes kept darting from you and Sakusa as you talked, a part of him felt guilty for interrupting an intimate moment between you two. Both of you deserved an alone time after your wedding. Atsumu played with his food and sulked in his seat.
"Oi, why aren't you eating?"
"I'm sorry for...ruining yer moment"
"No, it's fine Tsumu! Did Kiyoomi make you feel unwelcome?"
"No, I didn't!"
There was a lighthearted bicker between you and Sakusa which makes Atsumu smile. He slowly regains his appetite and finishes his food. When he looks up, he sees both you and Sakusa giving him a gentle look. He gulps.
"Uh, is there somethin' on my face?"
"You're quite adorable aren't you, Tsumu? Won't you agree, honey?"
"Yes, unfortunately"
"Huh? What do ya mean?"
"Tsumu we can see the way you look at us"
Oh fuck. Atsumu didn't want to jump to conclusions but he's internally panicking, bi-panicking he supposes.
"I do-don't know what yer talkin' about"
"Bullshit, Miya"
"Come on, it's okay Tsumu. No need to be ashamed"
"Bu-but both of ya just got married!"
"So?"
You and Sakusa replied in unison. Atsumu is convinced he's about to have a cardiac arrest. You stand from your seat and make your way over to him, you gently grab his face and caress his cheeks. Sakusa silently walks over to you two slyly slides his hand across his neck and grabs his chin. The way both of you were touching him and looking at him was making his brain melt.
"How about we go to the room, yeah?"
Atsumu nods, effectively hypnotized by your voice. You grabbed his hand and led him to your shared bedroom. Sakusa has his hands resting on Atsumu's shoulders, further increasing the anticipation. As soon as the bedroom shuts, Atsumu knows he's going to have a wild time.
should I make a part two with a smutscene? lmfao
edit: here's part 2 lol

[“Why not identify as bi? That’s a complicated question. For a while, I thought I was simply being biphobic. There’s a lot of that going around in the gay community. Most of us had to struggle so hard to be exclusively homosexual that we resent people who don’t make a similar commitment. A self-identified bisexual is saying, ‘Men and women are of equal impor- tance to me.’ That’s simply not true of me. I’m a Kinsey Five, and when I turn on to a man it’s because he shares some aspect of my sexuality (like S/M or fisting) that turns me on despite his biological sex.
There’s yet another twist. I have eroticized queerness, gayness, homo- sexuality – in men and women. The leatherman and the drag queen are sexy to me, along with the diesel dyke with greased-back hair, and the femme stalking across the bar in her miniskirt and high-heeled shoes. I’m a fag hag.
The gay community’s attitude toward fag hags and dyke daddies has been pretty nasty and unkind. Fag hags are supposed to be frustrated, traditionally feminine, heterosexual women who never have sex with their handsome, slightly effeminate escorts – but desperately want to. Consequently, their nails tend to be long and sharp, and their lipstick runs to the bloodier shades of carmine. And They Drink. Dyke daddies are supposed to be beer-bellied rednecks who hang out at lesbian bars to sexually harass the female patrons. The nicer ones are suckers who get taken for drinks or loans that will never be repaid.
These stereotypes don’t do justice to the complete range of modern faghaggotry and dyke daddydom. Today fag hags and dyke daddies are as likely to be gay themselves as the objects of their admiration.
I call myself a fag hag because sex with men outside the context of the gay community doesn’t interest me at all. In a funny way, when two gay people of opposite sexes make it, it’s still gay sex. No heterosexual couple brings the same experiences and attitudes to bed that we do. These generalizations aren’t perfectly true, but more often than straight sex, gay sex assumes that the use of hands or the mouth is as important as genital-to-genital contact. Penetration is not assumed to be the only goal of a sexual encounter. When penetration does happen, dildos and fingers are as acceptable as (maybe even preferable to) cocks. During gay sex, more often than during straight sex, people think about things like lubrication and ‘fit’. There’s no such thing as ‘foreplay’. There’s good sex, which includes lots of touching, and there’s bad sex, which is nonsensual. Sex roles are more flexible, so nobody is automatically on the top or the bottom. There’s no stigma attached to masturbation, and gay people are much more accepting of porn, fantasies, and fetishes.
And, most importantly, there is no intention to ‘cure’ anybody. I know that a gay man who has sex with me is making an exception and that he’s still gay after we come and clean up. In return I can make an exception for him because I know he isn’t trying to convert me to heterosexuality.
I have no way of knowing how many lesbians and gay men are less than exclusively homosexual. But I do know I’m not the only one. Our actual behaviour (as opposed to the ideology that says homosexuality means being sexual only with members of the same sex) leads me to ask questions about the nature of sexual orientation, how people (especially gay people) define it, and how they choose to let those definitions control and limit their lives.
During one of our interminable discussions in Samois about whether or not to keep the group open to bi women, Gayle Rubin pointed out that a new, movement-oriented definition of lesbianism was in conflict with an older, bar-oriented definition. Membership in the old gay culture consisted of managing to locate a gay bar and making a place for yourself in bar society. Even today, nobody in a bar asks you how long you’ve been celibate with half the human race before they will check your coat and take your order for a drink. But in the movement, people insist on a kind of purity that has little to do with affection, lust, or even political commitment. Gayness becomes a state of sexual grace, like virginity. A fanatical insistence on one hundred percent exclusive, same-sex behaviour often sounds to me like superstitious fear of contamination or pollution. Gayness that has more to do with abhorrence for the other sex than with an appreciation of your own sex degenerates into a rabid and destructive separatism.”]

Tease tidbit Tuesday
It's Tuesday somewhere I checked. because of the recent change in my Sal opinion I gave him redemption after this in my fratboys bucktommy au which is actually not just frat house au
“Can we talk, newbie?”
Buck turns to him, and nods pretty slowly trying to understand why Sal tries to be pretty polite and look a little uncomfortable even with his feigned ego.
“I wanted to apologize,” and Buck wants to hit his head in the place he just cleaned because it can’t be true a guy like Sal apologizing. “I’m still pretty new to all this queer stuff, and how to be respectful, you know, with the way I was raised and with working under Gerrard for way longer than Tommy. I know it’s not a good reason, but It’s all I have. So I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have ask this question like that and addressed you the way I did,”  Sal offers his hand and Buck blinks several seconds, when his brain shirt circulate from the a continuation of the situation that he had not expected in any way, because if people were biphobic to him they stay that way.
Yet, after short time he needs to see that Sal is for real, especially when man’s eyes got sad, Buck shakes his hand with a smile, “Forgiven and forgotten,” Sal smiles at him too and Buck notices how a real smile suits him, way better that sugary smirk he has so often. He looks very attractive with it. Then Buck gets sheepish, remembering the way he was with Sal, “But I’m sorry about my reaction too.”
“No need,” Sal hits his shoulder with a patented smirk, and Buck smiles at it because he just can’t stop himself, “It was cool come back at me and my asshole approach. I actually liked it.”
“Oh, really?” Buck leans on the firetruck tossing a rag into a bucket. He finally finished polishing.
“Ah huh, especially when I couldn't say anything witty back,” Sal leans near him, smirking more, keeping eye contact and Buck swallows when he sees how bright blue his eyes are. Fuck, this man is gorgeous and now his asshole demeanor just keeps Buck hot under collar.
“Well, just say a word and I'll keep you on your toes more,” Buck says, biting his bottom lip and then licking it. Maybe the guy is really straight, then it will lead to nothing, but if he’s not, then it can lead to some fun.
and because Evan Buckley decided he is horny for Sal now I need to decide and need your help

So I've been seeing A Viewpoint within the bg3 fandom occuring. And I gotta be honest. I disagree that the characters being bisexual in Baldur's Gate 3 means you cannot headcanon them as other sexualities for your own fandom content purposes. I think that's not reflective of how queer people and their sexual identities actually work, and its just antithetical to how fandom has always functioned, which is an exercise of imagination. I wanna clarify up front: I agree that someone saying that a character Can't or Shouldn't or Was Not Meant To Be bisexual because of whatever reason IS biphobic sentiment. The characters in Baldur's Gate 3 are canonically bi/pan, thats made pretty damn clear when you look through all their content. That's not what I'm talking about. I'm talking about headcanons, au's; the kind of imaginitve play that is very much what fandom creativity is about. If you set a standard in fandom that depicting a character as a certain sexuality is Not Allowed, 1. you're kinda flattening sexuality in a weird way, like personally my sexuality is complicated as fuck and has changed over time, and 2. you're limiting creativity. And I think creativity in fandom is extremely important. It's the whole fun of fandom. Creativity is worth protecting and its worth establishing the nuance between Depicting A Version of Character who is X and Insisting That Character Should Be X in canon. Because like... we meddle with character's identities in fandom all the time. That's what headcanons ARE, they change appearance, social position, career, faith, species, traumatic experience, moral and political alignment, and SO much more. I think limiting what people can headcanon within fandom... is less fun! It's just less fun. Imaginative scope lets you do more, weird fun stuff. It lets you depict more complex interesting characters. Example: my Bad Nun AU. In that, Shadowheart identifies as a lesbian. Why is that? Because I wanted Shadowheart's experience within Bad Nun to specifically explore the history and context of lesbians within nunneries, especially how that manifested post Vatican II. These were also eras when 'lesbian' was more ubiquitos, had a different context and more flexibility; a lot of women that would probably consider themselves 'bisexual' now were identifying as lesbians, were in lesbian communities and events and spaces.
On that note: Flattening sexuality. You're gonna say people CANNOT depict these characters as ANYTHING but bisexual? That is not how most queer people's sexualities work. It simply isn't. I've identified as tons of different shit in my sexuality. I'm still not sure about it. For me half the time my "sexual identity" is just the words I use to communicate what I'm looking for, and that changes depends on What I Want at that time, what I'm looking to explore, my social context, ect. ect. like what. This isn't how sexuality works for real people. How are artists meant to be Creative and imaginatively depict real, complex, queer sexuality if they are restricted to depicting only what is within canon?? This is not how any other part of fandom works. Fandom art should work how all art works. If someone makes shit art, it gets dunked on and ignored for being bad or lazy or lame. If someone did Heterosexual Karlach fanfic, I would be like "what the fuck why" because they made Karlach less fucking cool. Het Karlach would be boring and thats More Egregious because they DECIDED to make her heterosexual DESPITE canon. But even then, EVEN THEN, I don't think that should be looked at as off limits shit, because I don't believe art should have many things off limits. Any limits must be very nuanced, because art and creativity is nuanced. Obviously my brain would go "het karlach? you deserve jail time and thats queerphobic", but I honestly believe creative license is more important than those feelings. I WOULD happily comment on their thing, "heterosexual karlach is boring, thats a shit idea" because I'm right
If you want good art and good writing, you need to protext creative license.

i was curious if you could write, someone being mean to reader for being bi, saying they’re faking it, them just being biphobic.
and from a character of your choice, have them be all protective, and comforting the reader while they’re upset. i’m a sucker for hurt/comfort 🥴
Summary: The moon boys are amazing boyfriends to their bisexual girlfriend.
Pairings: Steven Grant x afab!Reader Marc Spector x afab!Reader Jake Lockley x afab!Reader
Warnings: harassment, blood, insecurity. Thats it?

~I love me some bi pride. Also really want someone to protect and comfort me.
~I’m gonna do MoonKnight mostly because I want an excuse to write for all the boys.
~We’ll start with Steven first. I know he’s not very confrontational but I think that after everything happened that completely changed.
~He’s the one to use words to protect you. Even though he’s shy and pretty reserved anytime someone comes after you he becomes bold and confident. This had been shown on many occasions.
~You had come in to visit him at work one day. He was on lunch so you guys walked through the exhibits with you asking him occasional questions about them. Which he did gleefully.
~You had just asked him the name of one of the statutes when you felt a tug in your backpack. You turned around and saw one of your pins in a middle aged woman’s hand.
~She had a scowl on her face and gave you a disgusted look as she looked over you, head to toe.
~You squirmed a little under her gaze, quickly growing uncomfortable with the way she was glaring at you.
~ “Can we help you?” Your boyfriend pipped up, looking at the pin he had gifted you clutched inside the woman’s fist. You were glad he spoke up because your voice was gone as you looked at the women.
~ “I don’t think it’s appropriate to show something like this in public. Let alone somewhere that has so many children present.” She spat out.
~ “Well, I don't think that’s any of your business and I think you need to return the item before I go and get security.” His hand extended towards her expectantly. You knew that Marc and Jake had to have been fighting to front as Steven shook his head glancing at his reflection in a shiny statue momentarily.
~ “Being a part of that community isn’t something that needs to be displayed.” Her voice had venom in it.
~ “Don’t worry lady, I'm definitely not interested in you.” You told her, finally finding your voice.
~ “I was not worried about that.” And for some reason she sounded offended at the fact you weren’t attracted to her.
~ “This is your last chance to give her back her pin before I get security.” He said more sternly, his accent thick as his glare darkened. She handed him the pin with a huff before turning around and running away.
~ “Thank you, Steven.” You told him as he pinned the object back in place.
~ “It’s alright love. No one deserves to be treated like that. I really don’t understand why people are twisted up by people in the lgbtq+ community.” He was standing in front of you now. Looking at the ground sheepishly. You kissed his cheek in a thank you causing a blush to bloom along his cheeks. Then you both continued on your walk.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
~Now for Marc.
~He is the one that comforts you. Reassures you constantly that you are valid, loved and supported.
~You had told him of your desire to go to pride. He had reluctantly(not that reluctantly because he was actually super excited to share this experience with you) joined you in your time there.
~He had even bought you matching shirts. Yours said I’m the bisexual girlfriend. His said I’m here with my bisexual girlfriend. The words were written in the bi pride colors.
~You were so excited the day of, you showed up to watch the parade that morning with a beaming smile on your face. A large group of people passed you by and you could see a few of them reading your shirts.
~You had always been a bit shy when around other people in the LGBTQ community. There had been many different instances that they had shamed you in the past. This time wasn’t any different. When one of the women started talking to someone else in the group.
~ “How can she even say she’s bi when she’s in a relationship with a guy.” She snickered as she passed you.
~ It didn’t seem Marc had heard, however, to focused on the parade going on in the street in front of you. No one here posed a threat to either of you in his mind so he had let loose a little.
~ He had however noticed the way your hand slipped out of his. He looked at you quickly and saw you fiddling with the ends of your shirt.
~ “What’s wrong?” He asked as he scanned the crowd to see if he could spot what happened.
~ “It’s nothing Marc. You can go back to watching the parade.” Your hands wrung together as you spoke.
~ “Tell me what happened honey. Did someone hurt you?” His eyes scanned your body looking for injuries. Though he didn’t know they could’ve laid a hand on you with him standing right there.
~ “Just someone invalidating me again. Nothing new.” He knew that you had insecurities surrounding your sexuality. Having been told many times you were faking it, that it didn’t exist or that you weren’t actually bisexual since you were with Marc.
~He had always done what he could to reassure you that you were validated and that you shouldn’t listen to what everyone said. This time was no different as he brought you into his chest squeezing you to him. Your arms came around his middle as you hugged him back.
~ “You are such an amazing and wonderful girlfriend babe. Your sexuality is valid. No matter what anyone else says you and I both know you’re bisexual. Steven and Jake know you are bisexual and we love you so much. We are comfortable with you exploring both sides of your sexuality as well. You just have to sit us down and talk about it with us.” He kissed the top of your head as you squeezed him tighter.
~It was always comforting to be in his arms. He smelled like a combination of the three of them. The three that would love and care and protect you until their last breath.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
~Now onto Jakeeeeeeee.
~This man will let fists fly with no hesitation. Very very very protective.
~This one will be more violent than the other ones of course.
~It was routine for one of the boys to be standing outside of your workplace waiting for you when Jake didn’t have a mission for Konshu.
~So as you exited the building you weren’t surprised to see a familiar hat placed atop a familiar set of curls.
~ “How was work today mi amor.” Jake had asked you as he usually did. Taking your hand in his.
~ “Fine.” Was your simple answer, even though work had been super annoying due to one specific co worker.
~ “What happened?” He asked you as he scanned your face with his eyes.
~ “Why do you think something happened?” You asked him surprised.
~ “You normally won’t shut up about your work day. But today was just fine. So what happened?” His demeanor changed as he finished his sentence, now in complete protective mode.
~ “Chad from accounting was going on again about me being bi. Told me that it was a sin. That I would feel the wrath of hell. Told me I didn’t deserve to breathe the same air as him. Just the normal gist and what not.” You shrugged simply as though the words didn’t sting you. As if you didn’t feel a deep hole within your chest as though he had stabbed you repeatedly with every word he spoke.
~ “Where is Chad now?” Jake was seathing as you spoke. The boys were all talking loudly within his head wanting to find the guy and put and end to him.
~ “He’s probably out back. He takes a shortcut through the alley to get home.” You knew he was going to find him anyway so you figured you’d save him some time.
~ “Go Home. We’ll be there shortly.” You nodded your head, giving his hand a squeeze.
~ “Just don’t kill him okay?” You gave him a peck on the lips before you were slipping away.
~It was almost an hour later that Jake slipped through the doors. Hands and shirt bloodied and you knew his point had been made to Chad. You cleaned him up and thanked him for helping you.
~ “I will always protect you amor.” Was his response.
A/N:I love the moon boys with all my heart. Oscar Isaac puts me in a chokehold with every role he plays. Happy Birthday Bestie❤️

I’m sure that at least one or two people have figured out that I subscribe to the headcanon that Finnick is bisexual. If you don’t see him that way then that’s fine. Finnick Odair is a fictional character with no canonically-stated sexuality so I don’t give a damn if people see him a straight or as only attracted to Annie Cresta or whatever. This doesn’t bother me.
But I am begging and pleading with the fandom to please stop stating, suggesting, or implying that Finnick cannot be bisexual or pansexual because he was raped. As a bisexual person myself, words cannot express how gross and frankly triggering I find this argument every time I see it crop up in this fandom (which is not infrequently). Bisexual people and pansexual people can be raped. They’re actually statistically more likely to have been the victims of rape/SA than the general population. Rape is also not less bad when it happens to bi/pan people. The idea that bi/pan people can’t be raped or that rape somehow isn’t as bad when it happens to them comes mostly from the deeply biphobic belief that bi/pan folks are hypersexual, always wanting sex, and therefore can’t be raped.
If you are saying to yourself “gee, Finnick was also assumed to be overly sexual and always wanting sex when he was actually being victimized” then congratulations! You have just discovered the reason why many bi/pan fans identify with this character!
But again, you don’t have to headcanon him as bi or pan. The fandom police are not holding a gun to your head, forcing you to have a certain conception of Finnick’s sexuality. You can just … go about your day while accepting that some fans have different headcanons than you. Or you can even argue for Finnick being straight if you want … but if your argument for him being straight revolves solely around the fact that he experienced repeated sexual assault in the Capitol then that’s pretty awful even if you don’t realize it.

❤: Which character do you think is the most egregiously mischaracterized by the fandom?
for secret shanghai ofccc :D
Uhh hm. Ok so I don’t think that the fandom on here mischaracterizes any of the characters horribly. (At least not since all of the books have been out.)
But in general (mostly based on tiktok/instagram/goodreads)…
I think people ignore the complexities of Juliette’s character a bit and just paint her as a girlboss knifewife TM.
I’ve also seen people misread Roma as a bland cardboard cutout YA love interest TM. Which is. Not correct.
I have seen people who thought Benedikt and Marshall were straight and shipped them with Rosalind and Celia. Which is just completely baffling to me. Because how.
Then I’ve also seen some pretty weird biphobic mischaracterizations of Orion and generally some pretty shallow reads of his character that I don’t love.
Pre fhh I definitely mischaracterized Oliver a bit. And I guess we do kind of make a couple tiny details of his character his entire personality now. But I don’t think it’s really genuine mischaracterization since I don’t think anyone genuinely sees him like that.
Ik I also mischaracterized Silas a bit pre fhh since I wasn’t expecting him to be such a driving force in the plot or for him to stand up for himself like he did. I don’t know that every characterization of him I’ve seen since fhh necessarily reflects that, but it was also something that he character developmented into so I wouldn’t say it’s a mischaracterization exactly.
Not mischaracterization exactly but I have seen people who didn’t realize Celia was trans? Which isn’t bad because if you’re not reading super closely it can be easy to miss at first. But I don’t love it when people still call her by her dead sister’s name post OVE.
We thought Phoebe was taller than she actually is since she’s described as short in flf but I’m not sure that Chloe Gong actually knows how tall any of the characters are either. So. Oh well.
My irl friend thought Phoebe and Silas were both straight?????
I’ve seen people call Silas boring and clingy and say that he needs to set boundaries. The first two are incorrect. That is a declarative statement because I’m right. The last one is perplexing because he did?? He literally put Phoebe in jail???
I think Alisa’s grief maybe gets glossed over a little bit, but honestly I don’t think it’s covered in the books (more flf than fhh) as much as it could be.
This is more my interpretation so I don’t know that this counts as mischaracterization exactly, but now that I think about it, I really don’t think Phoebe cares about fashion or anything adjacent to that that gets ascribed to her sometimes. I think the vast majority of that is the front that she’s putting on. I think this can be seen in the state of her room when Alisa starts digging through her stuff in fhh and also how she refers to what she’s wearing as “frivolous” in the flf epilogue.
This isn’t really an answer but oh well.

So we all know that “she’s from… Europe?” was Not convincing, obviously leading to ‘fake gf’ hc’s, but I feel like if Ben wasn’t actually in a relationship the exchange with Yaz about hardships of long distance relationships is so odd? I genuinely believe he’s got a dark Jurassic online gf. (Also, just because he has a gf doesn’t mean he’s straight, lot of y’all just sound biphobic)
But! Here’s where the theory starts- his gf is pretty secretive about a lot of personal stuff. So is Ben. I’m not even sure he’s told her he was part of the Nublar 6. Mystery gf is very deep in dark Jurassic, and is actually tracking shady dino shipping/trades. Trying to stop or disrupt them. Like Brooklyn was, getting info to bring them down. Maybe she’s currently traveling, and the last Ben heard she was in Europe, but not any specifics. Maybe, she’s tracking the boat the campers are getting on at the end of the season. Maybe! She’ll help rescue them. Idk I feel like the first mention of her very much felt like a joke, but I really hope they do something more than that. Him just making up a gf (lying to yaz!) feels so off. And I am not a fan of the ‘his gf is Brooklyn’ theory. (The ideas hilarious but would absolutely not work in the show) thoughts?

Most people in your life now were the kind of people you trusted. While you’d never been ashamed of your sexuality (your support system while questioning had been too strong and there for you every step of the way)... Sometimes you felt as though people had grown a little too comfortable.
Not Vernon. Never Vernon: you came out to him a few months into dating him once you felt sure that he wouldn’t judge you, and he didn’t. He’d embraced your bisexuality with open arms, merely remarking a laid back “cool—how do you want me to respond? With a hug? I’m down for whatever,” and then his thanks that you trusted him enough to come out. Seungcheol knew, too, because the two of you had gone out for drinks after work and you’d drunkenly came out to him on the walk to your bus stop. His response had been a little different in the moment (it wasn’t judgmental in the slightest, but a “that’s not an excuse for not holding onto me—you’re going to fall!”) and he’d met you for breakfast the next morning to ask if he’d heard you correctly. Hell, Seungcheol was the reason you came out to Vernon: he’d set the two of you up, and you’d asked if Vernon was the kind of person to judge you for that.
He’d stared at you and answered with “Would I have introduced you if he wasn’t?”
(You suddenly grew to appreciate Seungcheol a lot more than just being your ‘big brother’ figure at work.)
Regardless, most people in your life were trustworthy. Therefore, everyone knew that you were bisexual. Simple. Anyone who judged you for being a bisexual woman in a relationship with a man was cut out of your life if they weren’t willing to learn.
Anyhow, that was how pretty much everyone at this party knew you and knew of your bisexuality. Not everyone in the room was straight (a slight reassurance—you didn’t feel like a spectacle in any way), and you’d noted those people because several of them were your friends. One of your friends was drunk at this point in the night, sitting cross-legged on the couch. Vernon was whispering something into your ear, fingers grazing over your bare shoulder and playing with the strap of your dress. He’d drank a little, too, and it was enough to loosen him up to initiate physical affection like this.
To be honest… You weren’t sure what brought you to the moment. All you knew was that the friend on the couch, Jia, had laughed and said something about how you “were bisexual, so obviously you weren’t going to decide,” and it’d hurt.
See, that was the thing: Jia was not bisexual (she was an out and proud lesbian, actually). You could make jokes about being bisexual and not making decisions, because you were poking fun at yourself, not just your sexuality. It was hard to explain to people, sure, but there was a difference between you making a joke over yourself and someone else doing it at your expense. The sting of Jia’s words were evident on your face, and she immediately realized what she’d hurt you.
“Oh my god,” she said, “I’m so sorry—”
“No, it’s fine,” you said, waving it off. “It’s fine.”
“No, I mean it, I didn’t—I didn’t mean that,” she said. “Really—”
You’d pushed Vernon’s hand off of your shoulder. “It’s fine! Don’t worry about it. I get it.”
Although Jia had settled back into the conversation, Vernon could see it on your face that it wasn’t fine. It was never fine. His attention fell back to Jia, who had changed the subject entirely, and then to Seungcheol, who seemed to be silently steaming in his seat. He could see the way you avoided Seungcheol’s gaze for a moment, and then quietly excused yourself to get a drink. Except you didn’t go toward the kitchen—Vernon watched you make your way to the front door. A second later, he heard Seungcheol speaking up, saying something to Jia about coming to grab a drink with him (which meant Seungcheol was definitely about to defend you). Which meant Vernon needed to do his part: Seungcheol would talk to Jia, Vernon needed to talk to you.
He found you easily enough. When he finally made it outside, there you were, standing underneath a streetlight and hugging yourself. You weren’t crying, but leaning against the base of it, rubbing your arms for warmth.
“Hey.” He made his way over to you, thankful you weren’t crying. He’d feel like a shitty boyfriend if you were crying: he should have moved immediately to follow you. If you needed the space, you would have said it outright. He, in your own words, was safe for that kind of talk. “You alright?”
You nodded, looking back out at the street. “Just… Didn’t feel like staying any longer.”
“For what it’s worth,” he stepped into the space next to you. “I think she’s genuinely sorry.”
“I know,” you nod. “I can tell. If she wasn’t, she wouldn’t have pushed back and insisted so hard. You know how she is.”
He watched the way you rubbed your arms again. You’d worn this sleeveless dress because it was one of your faves, and because it’d been warmer earlier. Vernon liked it, too: he thought the confident way you carried yourself was always your prettiest look. Yet the temperature had dropped lower than either of you had expected, but Vernon came prepared. He knew how to take care of his girl. If that meant stripping off his jacket and pushing it onto your shoulders, then so be it: he could handle the cooler weather.
“Thanks,” you pulled it closer to you. “I dunno. I mean, she immediately apologized, but it still kinda stings.”
“I get it.” He wrapped an arm around you. “Like… You can make those jokes because it’s you.”
“Right.” You leaned into him. “I dunno, I think it was the alcohol. I just…” With a deep breath, you shut your eyes. “I can’t help but feel like some people are expecting me to choose a side rather than a person.”
“I don’t. Cheol doesn’t, either. I don’t think anyone up there does,” he said. “But I know that doesn’t really matter.”
“It does, actually,” you said, opening your eyes again so you could meet his gaze. “I’m glad I have you guys. I just… I dunno. I’ve seen people say that kind of stuff before. I’ve cut people out because their opinion of me changed when I went from saying that I’m bisexual to saying that I have a boyfriend.” Shifting your weight from leg to leg, you let out a sigh. “I just—Can’t I just exist? I’m not ‘picking a side’ by being with you, I’m picking a person that I love. That doesn’t make me any more or less bisexual than I was before.”
“I know.” He leaned in, pressing a kiss against your temple. “For what it’s worth… I’m kinda glad you chose me.”
Your gaze met his again, a little teasing. “Kinda?”
He chuckled, warm as ever, and planted another quick kiss—only this time he’d pressed it against the corner of your mouth, ever the tease. He changed the topic with ease, fingers brushing against your arm again as he pulled you in closer. “You hungry?”
You looked back at the building behind you, “What about—”
“It’s boring,” he said; a complete lie, but one you were grateful for. “Besides… Cheol’s talking to Jia. He’s got your back.”
It earned a smile from you. Seungcheol always seemed glad to watch out for anyone he cared for: whether it was you and politely acknowledging the fact some male coworkers were disrespecting you, or picking up his friends when it was late and they needed the ride. He cared about people with his entire heart. You would have to thank him later, maybe bringing him his favorite coffee when you went into work next.
“I was thinking… Maybe we could find an Italian place?” Vernon pulled you along with him, arm resting around you. “Or tacos—Babe, I could murder some tacos right now.”
All you could do was smile, giggling a little as you fell into step with him. At least you had Vernon by your side: the person you chose to have there.

Yeah, “anyone is allowed to say no to sex with literally anyone for any reason” is just a good baseline belief for anyone to have. There should be no confusion about that.
I think where people online can get weird about that is that this includes when people’s “reasons” are kind of shitty, e.g. they reject someone for their race or disability or weight or because they’re trans or whatever. But you’ve still gotta hold fast to that bigot’s right to say no, and not *just* because the person they’re rejecting isn’t going to have a good time with a bigot anyway. But because being forced or cajoled or socially pressured into having sex is evil, and body autonomy is paramount.
It’s like the similar argument people on here get weird about sometimes with abortion: you have to support the right of a pregnant person to abort because it’s a girl or because of the father’s race or because it has a particular disability or because they have the resources to take care of a kid but just don’t want to or because they just feel like it that day or whatever reason you “don’t like,” or you are not actually pro-choice. Similar to free speech, your belief in bodily autonomy is only actually that if you believe in it for reasons that you despise. If it’s not 100% the choice of the person with the body in question, then they don’t actually have bodily autonomy. If you support that autonomy, by definition that means you don’t get a vote when it’s someone else’s body.
So this likewise goes for if it’s “politically correct” for people with X identity to have/not have sex (or have/not have it with Y people) including for ace people to have or not have sex, or for allosexual people to reject asexual partners and vice versa. If you don’t believe people have an absolute right to reject someone for sex or dating, then you don’t support their autonomy. End of story. Your feelings about their decisions don’t matter.
It’s wild how many people on the left-wing corners of the Internet don’t get this. But there is so much pressure even offline for people in those circles to ignore their wants and needs under the guise of checking for how oppressive their standards are or are not. I have unfortunately known people whose whole dating lives seem to be based on exploiting their partners’ guilt over rejecting a trans person or ace person or POC and using that to encourage their partners to overlook their giant red flags. (This is not saying trans or ace people or POC are more likely to do that or something, I’m bringing those identities up because I’m thinking of some creepy individuals I know that have those identities and weaponize them. But it’s those individuals who are creepy, the identity is just their tool and if it wasn’t that it would be something else — but the idea in some left-wing spaces that some reasons for rejecting are less valid than others makes it easier for them to wield that tool and more effectively.)
Like, there are preferences people have that I privately think are pretty shitty. I’m a lesbian who has met other lesbians who say they won’t date bi women, for instance, and along with that I have yet to hear a reason *from them* for that preference that isn’t rooted in biphobia (and also often misogynistic slut-shaming), I can’t even think myself of a reason for that preference that wouldn’t be. There’s just no reason for *rejecting all bi women as romantic/sexual partners* if you’re into women, that isn’t based on some weird stereotypes or misconceptions about bi women or bisexuals/bisexuality more generally. But I still think those biphobic lesbians have the right to reject bi women. Because the idea that you are obligated to have sex/relationships you don’t want for the sake of “unlearning bigotry” is even more gross and disturbing!
