𝑺𝑭𝑾🌿
・You didn't know how it all started. You had no idea how or why all four of them were pining after you. Well, you didn't notice it at first. You guessed it was denial.
・And you never thought of yourself as that beautiful. Not compared to other women at court (which was self-confidence based, not on truth, but you didn't feel that.)
・But for some reason, you had caught all four men's eyes.
・Some thought you had put a spell on them, and at times, you thought that yourself. Because you would find hidden love letters, flowers and presents in your rooms.
・You would be escorted by one of them every morning to wherever it is you needed to go
・You were never ... without attention. You were always being asked for dinner, for a date, for a horse ride.
・But you weren't the type to take away someone's free will. Even if you did have a crush on each man.
・Peter was High King, and so passionate. So ready to defend his kingdom, his people and his family.
・King Edmund, but Ed as you knew him, was so witty, kind and you couldn't deny that whenever he winked at you from across a room your heart beat faster
・Caspian ... god .... his accent, his hair, the way he always put you at ease. And he always made time for you.
・And then Eustace, who the Pevensie's said he was once an irritating young boy, who had grown up. Narnia had helped him mature. Plus, you loved that wherever Eustace went, Reepicheep went as well.
・Eustace towers over you, and his smile ... you always get jealous when he smiles at anyone else. You would never admit that though.
・It was very suspicious that they all decided to pursue you. Susan had brought it up, talking to Lucy about it. They both wanted to understand why three members of their family were head over heels for the same young woman
・When they asked you, (you were slightly hurt by this and Lucy could see it on your face;)
"We don't mean it like that!" Lucy said walking forward and taking hold of your hand.
"Oh no! Not at all, it's just ... out of the ordinary," said Susan.
・Lucy had grown to be just as tall as her sister. And just as beautiful. You were confused as to why Caspian wasn't pursuing Susan.
"Oh! Because I know there are more beautiful people in the castle. And I've wondered why this was happening as well."
・You liked the surprises, which turned into dates. But now you knew that Susan and Lucy were gathering evidence
・Eustace was the first to ask you on a date. To which you said yes.
・He took you to his favourite spot in Narnia. A sparkling pool that cleaned anything completely off of you as soon as you got in.
"It's great for washing!"
・You didn't believe him at first. But he brought a pot of ink and spilt it all over his finest shirt.
・You gasped, but watched as he took off his shirt and plunged it into the water. Immediately the bubbles turned into sparkes, and almost like small rays of light bounced from the fabric, where the ink had once been.
・He pulled it back out and it was almost gleaming.
"H-holy god, this place really is magical," you said and touched the fabric. It was dry as well. But you were doing your best to advert your gaze. Eustace was shirtless and you were blushing...
"How did you come across this?" You asked, trying to take the attention away from the tension
・He coughed. Then put on his shirt.
"I-I love exploring Narnia-" He said with a slight smile, realising his actions
・You bowed your head and looked back at the water, hesitant to touch it. But you plunged your hand into it and instantly you were filled with light.
"Oh my-" Eustace said, looking at you like you had two heads.
"What is it?" You said, swishing your hand through the water.
"You're ... glowing."
・That's when a voice came forward.
"Y/N, what are you doing out here- oh, Eustace," said High King Peter atop his horse.
"Cousin," Eustace bowed his head as Peter trotted forward, his horse just as regal as he.
"Hello, my King."
Peter tutted, "how many times do I have to tell you. Just Peter."
・You blushed, already standing. You stood next to Eustace and felt incredibly awkward; not just because of the two cousins who were staring one another down, but because you were barefoot with unbound hair and completely without makeup.
"Well..." said Peter's horse. The mighty steed, Gideon, who was taller than you.
"I was wondering if you wanted to dine with me tonight?" Peter asked you, and you smiled, nodding.
With almost like a sigh of relief, Peter beamed but tried to hold it in, "I'll see you at seven in my dining quarters."
・Oh, alone. You hadn't had dinner with any of the men alone.

Ok we all talk about the Pevensies' trauma at returning to Earth at the end of The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe and their trouble readjusting to life there again but think of all the funny/good parts too
They return from the country, and their mom is surprised when all her children hug her at the station. Even Peter, who thinks he's all grown up. Even Edmund, who went away surly and withdrawn. She doesn't know her children haven't seen her in over a decade.
They miss their dear Cair Paravel, but they absolutely do not miss its chamber pots. Indoor plumbing is amazing.
It takes a while to remember how modern technology works, though. How many heart attacks did the siblings give their parents or the professor because they walked into a dark room only to turn on the light and find the children sitting there in the dark. (They were by the window! There was still plenty of light from the sunset! They would have gotten a candle in a minute!) The kids sheepishly remember oh yeah electricity is a thing.
(Edmund has a new electric torch in Prince Caspian. He was so excited to get that torch. Almost more excited than you'd think a kid his age would be, and his parents expect Peter at least to tease him, but the siblings all agree light in your hand at the touch of a switch is terrific.)
Suddenly getting really high grades in some subjects and terrible in others. Their grammar, reading comprehension, spelling, vocab, even penmanship? Amazing. History and geography? They don't remember anything. One time in class Susan forgets Earth is round and wants to die.
Also they can never remember what the date is supposed to be because Narnia uses different months and years. They can estimate time really well by looking at the sun though, and Edmund at least can always tell which way is north etc without thinking about it (again, using the sun)
Okay but how many times did they go to pick something up or reach something and realize they are so much shorter and less muscled than they expect? It's a common sight to see Peter climbing on counters to reach a top cabinet, grumbling about how he's High King this is demeaning. (No he never takes the extra five seconds to grab a stool. He will climb that shelf.)
Peter and Susan being delighted because they are no longer almost thirty. (In a few years Edmund and Lucy will tease them about being old and their parents will not understand.)
Lucy doesn't have to deal with periods anymore for a few years yet. Susan might not either. Heck yeah
Lucy loves to climb into her siblings' laps and be cuddled. In Narnia she eventually she grew too big, but now she is small and snuggleable again. Peter is her favorite, and if she's upset, he'll tickle her and tell bad jokes until she's smiling again, but really she loves cuddling with all her family. She grew up without her parents; how many times did she just want to crawl into her mom's lap and her mom was a world away? Imagine the first time she realizes she can now. Or, imagine one day, a cold and grey sort of day, when the rain is pattering against the windows, and it sounds like the rain on the windows of the Professor's house, that first day they went exploring. It sounds like the day they played hide and seek. It sounds so like the rain on the windows of Cair Paravel, that if Lucy closes her eyes she can imagine she's back there, having tea and chatting with Mr. Tumnus before the fireplace of her room, and soon the rain will stop, and they will go out on the balcony and wave to the naiads and the dryads and the mermaids, who have come out to enjoy the rain and visit one other on the banks of the Great River winding past Cair Paravel down to the sea.
But if Lucy looks out the window, all she'll see is the rain over London, so it's not only a cold and grey sort of day, it's a lonely sort of day too.
Susan and Edmund are playing chess in the living room (and they must have studied with Professor Kirke, thinks their mother, because they certainly weren't that good when they left). Lucy goes over to Edmund, and oh dear, thinks their mother, now he's going to call her a baby and be horrible to her, but instead he picks her up and puts her on his lap without even taking his eyes off the chessboard; it's simply a matter of course.
"Doesn't the rain sound familiar?" says Lucy in a solemn, wistful way.
Their mother doesn't know what that means, but her siblings must, because Susan says, "Yes, Lu, it does,” and Edmund gives her a little hug with his free arm as she tucks herself under his chin to watch the chess match.
(Five minutes later there is a crash from the next room as Peter falls off a counter. Their mother does not understand the words he must have picked up from the Professor, but he's grounded for them anyway. His siblings have no respect for their High King, because they refuse to stop laughing.)

Can we talk about how chaotic Narnian battles would feel?? Especially in Prince Caspian. Like, imagine you’re a little Telmarine soldier waiting for the catapults to go and you’ve got all your regiments in nice orderly rows and these two 16 year olds suddenly yell “charge” and the ground opens up beneath you, a mouse with a sword the size of a large pencil takes out your bestie, a griffin drops a dwarf 5 ft away from you and he comes up swinging. As you try to rationalize this, you’re stabbed by a twelve year old with a British accent. Finally, a really freaking big lion shows up, roars, and your entire army collectively pees their pants. At one point in the movie (yes I know the movies aren’t quite the same as the book but they’re still good) Peter says like “we have the element of surprise” like dude, you have drafted the trees I’m pretty sure everyone’s gonna be surprised no matter what.

Narnia headcannons because i think about these lovelys constantly
Susan pevensies nose bunches up a little when she lies.
Edmunds favorite apple is pink lady.
Peter dose collects rings but since his hands are useually covered in bandages he can rarely wear them and because of this caspain useually borrows them and wears them so eventually peter starts getting ones he thinks him and caspain would both like . (Peters favorite is a ring that looks like a lions head and its the only one he dosent let caspain wear.)
Susan and lucy taught Caspian how to braid hair so they all take turns braiding eachothers hair every now and again.
Eustaces favorite meal is pasta dosent matter what kind if its pasta he loves it.
Anyways thats all for today thank you for listening to me ramble.

Narnia Headcanons
- Mr. and Mrs. Beaver became second parents to the Pevensie's and visited on every major holiday and some of the minor ones.
- Dragons are rare by the time the Pevensie's come along but they aren't unheard of, especially in the far north and in parts of the great desert.
- Most Dragons are capable of speech. Eustace wasn't because being speechless was part of the curse.
- Not all Giants are evil but its very difficult to be a good giant.
- Most good giants live alone or in small villages, away from the larger population. Evil giants tend to mistreat them or they to trick them into eating sentient creatures.
- Faeries live in Narnia and are Feared.
- Jadis would actively avoid faeries during her reign because they openly hated her and tried to do her in at every opportunity. Even the ones on her side occasionally would "accidentally " come close to maiming her.
- Griffins live in the high mountains of Narnia, Archenland, and Calormen.
- The Tirosc during the time of Queen Swanwhite owned a beautiful male Firebird. He was so taken by Swanwhites beauty that he sent her the bird as a gift. She immediately freed the creature and rejected the Tirosc for his cruelty.
- Every king and queen of Narnia has a statue that is built in a crypt deep underground.
- there have been evil Narnian rulers but they are few and far between. The most well known one was King Adan the Cruel. Among his actions, he is most well known for killing seven of his wives and the last (Queen Flora, Swanwhite's mother) outliving him.
- Adan's spirit used to wander Cair Paravel and frighten Lucy. He only stopped because Peter and Edmund trapped him in a corner of the wine cellar with help from Mrs. Beaver, who knew a binding spell or two.
- Pegasus largely live in Archenland due to having to escape during the reign of the White Witch.
- There are seven species of Toffee trees in Narnia.
- The lamp post in Lantern Waste creates light from carbon dioxide, like how trees make oxygen.

Dating Prince Caspian Would Include
Request: Dating Prince Caspian headcanons?? (Gn reader if you can)
Tumblr media
Caspian is a gentleman in the truest sense of the word
Expect a lot of romance from him. Hand holding, kisses on the hand, kisses in general, maybe a rose or two???
He will definitely court you and he's not afraid to make a fool of himself in front of you either, so if his attempts are less than successful at least they're sort of endearing
He will want to fight and defend you, but he also understands you're more than capable of taking care of yourself (it won't stop him from trying to fight battles for you anyway)
Sharing clothes, willingly or not, Caspian loves to see his shirts and other clothes on you
He is definitely the jealous type, especially if the Pevensie boys are around. He's not confident in his ability to compare to Peter and Edmund, but all you have to do is reassure him you have no intention on leaving him
Running your fingers through his hair as the two of you lie together
Narnia power couple??? Fighting battles together, back to back
He's gentle, he'll never force you to do anything you don't want to but he will also probably push you out of your comfort zone a bit
Longingly staring into each other's eyes (while everyone around you is annoyed with you)
You feel like you should be jealous/threatened by Susan, but you trust Caspian to always come back to you
Speaking of the Pevensies, the two of you are close to the group of siblings. When they're in Narnia, the two of you always provide room and board for them. Mostly you, Caspian is hesitant sometimes
You rule Narnia at Caspian's side, offering council and advice when he needs it and support, and he returns the favor when you need it
He's not afraid to profess his love, will do it anywhere, anytime
Cheesy romantic poems, maybe???

you know i feel like edmund pevensie would be the type to introduce board games from earth to narnia. yeah yeah i'm aware he's good at chess and shit but that's not what i'm talking about. i'm thinking something more... volatile.
and so i offer this:
imagine an alternate universe where during the prince caspian era edmund invents monopoly (it was patented in 1935 so the timing works out!) solely to fuck with miraz and the entire experience ends with miraz going "surely your older brother would prefer a duel to the death over this" and peter's like "actually i'm having the time of my life idk about you tho"

“When he speaks, Narnia listens”
When the High King speaks, Narnia listens. No matter how far afield a member of the Narnian army is, they can hear Peters orders.
The deep magic changed each of the Pevensies and this is only one of the ways it changed the eldest.

⤷ gender neutral, ambiguous race, and any size reader. Requests are open, thank you for reading!
a/n: you can take the relationship with the characters as romantic or platonic - completely up to you. Also I feel like this is a neurodivergent thing, where we pick something that looks shiny, cute or weird and gift it to someone we love. It’s the neurotypicals that usually think it’s weird...
ᴹᵃˢᵗᵉʳˡᶤˢᵗ
𝑺𝑭𝑾🌿
𝐋𝐮𝐜𝐲 (1000% neurodivergent. Most likely has AuDHD)
・Running to Lucy to told her to shut her eyes and hold our her hands
・Would undoubtedly take the rock excitedly
・Actually would be out in the woods looking at pretty rocks with you in the first place
“Ooh this one actually shines in the light!” She says as she holds it up to the sun. Without realising, she had found a citrine gemstone.
・There are many different rocks in Narnia, and because of the magic, there’s no ... logic, to what can be found
・It makes humans very interested
・Both of you returning back to the castle covered in dirt but with sacks full of rocks (Peter says you can only choose your favourite 3 and the rest have to be left outside)
・Is definitely a hobby for you and Lucy
・It’s what you bonded over in the beginning of your friendship
・Has a collection in her room that she’s specifically told the servants not to get rid of (because the majority of the collection are just plain rocks)
・Would have a smooth stone that she keeps in her pocket to rub - as a form of stimming
𝐄𝐝𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐝 (Is neurodivergent, but has masked for so long that he doesn’t know how to unmask)
・Is used to Lucy giving him trinkets, ribbons, rocks, shells etc when they were young
・So when you present him the rock that “reminded you of him,” he blushes a little and thanks you
・He absolutely loves when people tell him “oh this made me think of you,” and it’s a positive thing ??? It blows his mind
・Edmund has no judgement. He just thinks it’s normal. Unlike some people who think it’s just plain weird (idk why they think it’s weird. It’s so human to want to collect things.)
・Edmund actually has a momento of each place that he’s visited. Both in Narnia and the human world.
・At home he has snow globes, pins, train tickets, pens, pamphlets, etc in his room, to remind him of all the places his been. And that war won’t be forever. That the world has a lot to offer.
・However, Edmund can agree that the collectible items are much better in Narnia
・Everything feels alive with magic, especially when Aslan is near
𝐒𝐮𝐬𝐚𝐧 (I’m actually thinking a lil neurodivergent. Maybe even autistic??)
・Like Edmund, she’s used to when Lucy would bring her random objects
・Hence why you found it so easy to give her things you thought were cool
・This was a common occurance, and it was nearly a daily routine for Susan to empty out her pockets of a night and see random objects
・Sometimes when she’s too focused on something, you’ll just slip the things into her pockets; notes, reminders, things she’s forgotten to take with her, silly little presents etc.
・She always knows it’s you
・Not in a weird way - but she can smell you, so she isn’t startled by your presence ... like ever
・So when you gave her the rock, a glinting piece of labradorite, she held it up to the light and moved it about. Making it flash here and there.
・She was very impressed
“This will go great with the collection!”
𝐏𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐫 (is definitely neurotypical. One of the judgy ones as well, until you - who opens his mind.)
・The least ... chill about it.
・Thinks collecting things is a waste of time unless they serve a purpose
・Has made you angry a few times because of it
・Lucy had to tell him to be nicer because the way he was going about it ... god he was being so headstrong
・So now he goes about it a lot more gently (because he’s gotten to know you better as well. You’re an important person in his life and he doesn’t want to upset you)
・So when you show him, he nods his head and does a weird, “oh thanks,” with furrowed brows.
・He doesn’t understand that it’s a token of your love/feelings toward him
・Not until you scrunch your face up and explain that to him
・And then he’s like, “oh wow. Okay then, I love it! Thank you - please give it to me,” and he’s chasing you around the room.
𝐂𝐚𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐚𝐧 (Not neurodivergent but loves people who are different and think out of the box)
・You had found him in the training yard, sweaty and out of breath
・Although in an established relationship, you still take the time to explain why you do certain things and what certain things mean to you, why you do certain things etc.
・Even if the word neurodivergent doesn’t exist yet, the people do. And are known as the poets, writers, creators, the intelligent, the weird, the hermits.
・And Caspian has always had an open-mind. No matter what, he’s always gone into things thinking about different points of view
・So a lot of things happened naturally with Caspian. And explaining yourself was easy because he understood a lot of your concepts
・When you gave him the rock, you were incredibly nervous but still desperate to show Caspian because it was a part of your background - collecting things, and you wanted to share that with him
・In all truthfulness, Caspian was expecting something much weirder to happen by the way you were acting
・But when you gave him the rock, his response gave you butterflies
“Thank you, my love, I will cherish it always.”
・And he stayed true to his promise
・Somehow he got a blacksmith to turn it into a ring and he wore it always
𝐄𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐜𝐞 (I reckon he’s autistic tbh, so neurodivergent 10/10)
・Being amongst the Narnian people was like nothing you could have ever imagined
・But what goes significantly unnoticed is the landscape and what would be normal in our world is 10x more magical in Narnia
・So you and Eustace have absolute field days just spending hours looking through this new world
・When you stumble across this particular rock, it takes your breath away and you instantly have to show Eustace
・Getting his attention was a bit difficult though but once you had it, he was very excited
・When you place it in his hands, he examines it, to see if it’s a geode or something that can be cracked open
・His mind is an endless pit of scientific facts
・But you didn’t give it to him for scientific purposes
・You gave Eustace the stone because ... well it represented something
・Where Eustace is facts, you’re fiction - a poet, at times
・And you wanted him to know how unyielding your feelings for him are
・However, Eustace did crack it open. Even after your pleads not to, yet his suspicions were right. Because inside it was a glimmering mass of shimmering rock pieces
𝐀𝐬𝐥𝐚𝐧 (understands the way of the world and how people’s minds work so he is neither neurotypical or neurodivergent - he just ... is). Also like, you can see Aslan in a romantic way if you want, but I’m kinda writing him as this father figure
・You didn’t mean to interrupt the meeting but you were too excited to wait to show Aslan the cool rock you’d found
・It was jagged but had reflective, almost glittering elements when you moved it around
・It looked ... magical
・And you wanted to ask if it might be
・So when you ran into the map room, where Aslan and a few other guards were, you enthusiastically brandished it in front of him
“Look! Look what I found! For you-”
・Very gracious
・Thanked you immediately while the others around you look at you like you’re crazy
・If anyone says anything mean about you, he will call them out
・You think he just forgets about them but he actually keeps everything you give him
・He can tell exactly where you got the rock from; which woods, lake or ocean. He’s so intune with Narnia that every little thing is easy for him to identify
・Encourages you to find more
・And gives you tips on the best places to find more cool things
𝐌𝐫 𝐓𝐮𝐦𝐧𝐮𝐬 (Yes, neurodivergent. Kinda goblin brained, but likes his alone time and collecting of things)
・It was a bit of a down day and you could see his frown. Wanting to brighten his day you went on a stroll, trying to find a pretty flower or a nice bunch of herbs
・But you couldn’t find either of those things
・Instead, you came across a tree stump with such smooth round rocks at the base.
・They looked so ... satisfying
・A perfect egg-shaped stone, close to one you’d seen Lucy playing with from time to time
・Running back home, you called out for Tumnus, and as he stood in front of you, you told him to hold out his hands
“Hmm...,” he said with a suspicious look, but obeyed.
・When you put it in his hands he blushed immediately. Knowing that you know how much he loves knick knacks and collecting objects... it made his day a lot better
・I feel like this could be a Narnian custom in a way. Like...to show your affection for the one you love, you go out in nature and find something that reminds you of them???

logan delos with a writer s/o who works for delos. they always have a book on hand and write the best storyline’s for westworld. in fact this specific writer has written logan’s favourite storyline’s. they catch his eye in the elevator where they’re reading a beat up copy of little women. later logan shows up in their office, prying into their personal life and somehow they end up on a date to westworld.
caspian x with a writer s/o who works in the royal library. they know every book off by heart and are full of random facts. when caspian is first crowned they’re the one who gives him a book on old narnian traditions. this leads to caspian begging them to come work in the narnian royal library. reluctantly they agree and they’re astonished by the size of it. caspian finds them writing one moment and he asks about it, they talk for hours about the world they’re writing and caspian offers to bring them on the dawntreader to add depth.
benjamin greene with a writer s/o who’s a friend of leo’s and that’s how they meet. they spend most of their time with leo, curled up with him watching the while they write. one day benjamin asks about it and they give him the journal. he returns it the next day gushing about their writing and even leo can see that they’re a better match for benjamin then his mother is. leo confronts benjamin, telling him to break up with julia and ask reader on a date. telling the bespectacled man that they’re a far better suit for him. that night benjamin goes to bed thinking about leo’s words. a few months later reader is getting their first novel published thanks to benjamin’s help.
ryan brenner with a writer s/o who he meets on a train one day. they get to talking and it turns out they’re both drifters. reader tells ryan about what they’re working on at that moment and they end up in a small town somewhere. ryan works on his music while reader works on their novel, it all flows together. eventually they just fit into each other lives perfectly. the lines between friendship and romance are blurred but it works for their unconventional lifestyle.

I wish we’d gotten more Jill and Lucy interaction in The Last Battle. Lucy and Susan were so close and when Susan steps away from Narnia, Lucy suddenly has this sister shaped hole in her life. I like to imagine that Eustace writes a letter to Lucy and says “help I went to Narnia with this girl from my school and she’s asking all these questions and I don’t know how to answer” and Lucy is like “Peter, Ed, we need a support group”. So Peter asks Professor and Polly and they all go to Polly’s house for tea and Eustace arrives with this sweet girl with dark hair and bright eyes and Lucy’s just immediately “mine and y’all can back off”. They’re pen pals and phone buddies and talk about every thing, from clothes to books to art to movies to Narnia and Jill is at the Pevensie house almost as much as she’s at the Scrubb house. I imagine that Jill is really good at sewing and manages to make Narnian dresses for her and Lucy and they’ll have picnics in secluded corners of parks in their not-quite Narnian dresses because British fabric will never compare to Narnian fabric but it feels almost real if they take their shoes off and drink water from the springs and eat apples and fish and bread with thick, salty butter with their fingers. Lucy uses her drawing skills to record what Jill and Eustace saw in the Silver Chair and Jill has drawings of Aslan and Cair Paravel tucked in her school books. Susan never quite understands how Lucy became so close to Jill but they always ask her to join in, and Jill shows Lucy how to make a dress for Susan, who leaves it hanging in her closet for years after they’re gone. Lucy and Jill are sisters in the same way that Eustace and Caspian and Edmund are brothers and they’re never found far from each other. Lucy loves her brothers (Eustace included) but I think there’s something special about the relationship between the two younger daughters of Narnia and I really wish we could have seen that in the series.

More character designs except this time they’re fantasy dwarves and whenever I draw fantasy dwarves they legally all need to have facial hair regardless of gender cause I think that’s cool.
Also these guys are all secretly Narnian and are also on the crew of the Dawn Treader cause I’m forever building out the crew in my mind, and it’s practicing doing my own designs. Here is some more of the crew.
The slightest amount of lore for them is down here if you care, along with general Narnia headcanons and waffling.
——————————————————————————
The dwarf on the far left is a river dwarf I’ve decided. I don’t know fully that is other than I think it’d be cool if there was a tribe of dwarves that were close to the water nymphs, and generally have great knowledge and skills that are an asset on a sailing crew.
The river dwarves are one of the reasons telmarines were scared of the water (along with the niads, however the bridge of beruna imprisoned the river god, who otherwise was also responsible for many folk tales told to young telmarine children. Their fear of water is ironic to me cause I believe there’s evidence of them coming from the Caribbean as pirates? I imagine the humans on caspians crew are like, either rediscovering their roots or the few who held on to that seafaring background. Mostly younger telmarines in the same generation as caspian, they questioned the leadership and were very happy when old narnia overthrew Miraz.)
the river dwarves are generally peaceful and most lived in hiding during telmars reign. They’re temperament is very stable and they do well under pressure. River dwarves are incredibly stealthy and only attack in necessity as self defense. In terms of stealth think like lotr hobbits, and this is a great contrast to most other dwarves in Narnia (strong strength and combat, low stealth) A lot of them abstained from fighting against telmar alltogether due to their peaceful values. They are disconnected from some other dwarf cultures which can cause some tension.
The two in the middle come from a tribe of dwarves that are blacksmiths, and also they’re siblings. The brother in particular is a toy maker by trade specifically, and loves kids. His wife (far right) has a background in carpentry. Him and his wife don’t have any but virtually adopt any child they see. The sister is always having a good time, and seafaring comes more naturally to her than smithywork ever did.
The carpentry/forest dwarves generally have a history of closeness with dryads similarly to how the river dwarves are with the water spirits. Some of that connection has been severed due to how deeply the dryads retreated and were removed when Caspian the Conqueror (not our caspian) and his descendants over-deforested. It takes time to restore that connection.
The two on the left may or may not have a situationship and the two on the right have been married for years.
Regardless of trade they’re all on the ship because they’re loyal as fuck to Caspian, the married couple kind of see themselves in a parental role to him but it’s debatable on how that actually plays out.
Also no one has a name cause I’m so bad at coming up with names.
————————
My thinking in general is that Narnian dwarves make up a lot of the trades, other races do contribute as well, (I’d imagine some marshwiggles work in stuff related to ships/seafaring but perhaps not travelling themselves) most fauns are more into the arts/spirituality, but some do take up trades (a couple of my designs from this post are tradespeople, one of them is a bard.)
I haven’t done many centaur designs, but my vague thoughts is that there are those who are more spiritual and practice prophecy, stargazing, advising, and those who are more into combat, and are protectors, or messengers.
—————
Gender and the ideas around sexuality I’d also imagine would be a lot more fluid and most Narnians are a lot more open than some of the more human civilizations. (Like it’s a country made of sentient trees, talking animals and mythical beings, and the human countries kind of canonically are like “what the heck is going on over there???” Or they’re afraid of them and try to colonize them, like the telmarines)
These are all half baked ideas but I’ve been fixated on Narnia since I was five and it’s lowkey the reason I spent so much time and passion into drawing and now have a career in graphic design and illustration, so. This is mostly all for me, so don’t mind how long this post has gotten. 🤠
