I happen to have the headcanon that Quark is actually a really good singer, but he just doesn't do it out in the open a lot. Like Rom knows about because they grew up together and heard him all the time, Ishka once told Quark that he could "earn a living worth of latinum" by actually pursuing it as a career, Nog knows cause Quark used to sing him lullaby's when he was younger, and Jadzia probably also knows about it because she caught Quark humming and singing to himself in the bar's storeroom one day.

Anyway, all this say that when Odo walks into Quarks on an extremely crowded and lively night to find a drunk Jadzia goading various members of the crew into karaoke he stays and sits down to watch only to be finds himself complete dumbstruck when an equally tipsy Quark starts singing a slow love song in an absolutely enchanting voice. Halfway through the song they lock eyes across the room right as a particularly lovey-dovey lyric comes up. Odo doesn't dare look away from the magnetic pull of Quark's hooded eyes and enlarged pupils looking straight at him. As the soft music swells all around them the room is suddenly empty, nobody but them between these walls and the vast expanse of space and stars. Odo starts to feel himself melt and finds that it's getting harder and harder to maintain his form the longer he watches Quark and the blush filling his cheeks and his tongue dash out to wet his lips and-

The moment is over as quick as it started.

The song ends, everyone claps and cheers, the night eventually ends and compliments are thrown left and right at Quark's singing abilities.

Meanwhile Odo's trying to figure out a way to simultaneously tell Quark he's never appeared more beautiful while still somehow insulting and degrading him without actually letting him know that Odo cares.

building on that last rb tho i also think when kai’s element is taken away he completely pulls away physically too. like we know how touchy he is Duh . always hugging everyone and hitting them etc etc. but when he loses his fire there’s a clear difference. he stands far away from everyone. always wrapped up in a million different layers. he’s freezing but he literallyr can’t reach out for anyone because touch physically hurts him now

his nerves are like. broken. his skin is hypersensitive now. you brush past him and it genuinely hurts him .his brain is just straight up confused. it’s misinterpreting pressure as damage. you touch his arm nd his brain’s like “wow, dying actually.” His nervous system is so fucked up because its working overtime it’s insane

it’s like his whole body has a permanent case of frostbite. like he’s frozen from the outside in. every touch feels like someone scraping their nails down his skin. and it’s not just a little uncomfortable he’s straight up always in pain . his hands are dry and cracked, his lips are splitting, and if you even try to squeeze his shoulder it’s like you’re squeezing a bruise because his joints ache so bad

he’s so cold it’s like burning. in the “i’m shivering so hard my muscles are cramping” way. his joints kill because he’s always curled up, trying to keep warm. and when someone tries to hug him, it’s not comfort but rather pressure and pain

so he just stops standing close to the rest of them. stops leaning on anyone. Ignores their looks and worry and questions. they don’t realise that he’s not Just cold on the outside, but all the way through. he’s always at the edge of the room, wrapped up like he’s about to brave a snowstorm, his hands shoved in his sleeves, his shoulders hunched . and he carries about a hot water bottle that he stole from one of them because he’s never owned any kind of heating device in his life . but it’s never enough

Hi there, anon! Thanks for stopping by because this is a good question and I'll answer you honestly - I'm a bit careful these days about how quickly I'll open up and become mutuals as I've had a few rough experiences in the past after being too accepting too quickly. No real fault on the other party usually, sometimes we found our writing or muses weren't really that compatible or we wanted different things from roleplaying that just weren't happening. That doesn't mean I'm not willing to give new people a chance, though! I'm just. Super busy these days, but starting from Sunday I'll have a brief respite from work and my hours should go back down to normal levels. For people interested in becoming mutuals, just smack that like button a few times or give me a follow - I'm usually around most everyday for a few hours at least so will see notifications pop up (if they aren't borking) and I'll give your blog a look. I actually adore OC's so I hope you aren't worried for that reason! I'm just a bit slower to open up these days after previous experiences so if I see good communication and healthy vibes, I'll probs follow back once I have a bit more time to ✨ observe ✨

I'm an idiot and completely forgot that the only thing I was waiting on for a Maeglin cosplay was a longsword, which... I've now had for a month ^^;

SO threw together a quick costest for the lad today. Mostly pleased, though there are a few things I want to adjust; and I need to figure out if the reason his eyeliner/eyeshadow color isn't showing up properly is because it's too dark or because of this particular lighting/phone camera setup (I decided on dark blue for him, but it's not showing here the way it is in person).

Also, with thin clothing like this, compression bra/binding doesn't cut it for me, and I wear my silicone torso to change up how the fabric drapes on me -- so I wore it today, to make sure my clothes still fit with it on (as these are just my daily clothes lmao). Aaand, since I already went to the trouble of wearing it (it is a huge pain in the ass to take on/off), I figured might as well take some fun photos too -- enjoy, under the cut! XD
