Omg, I just realized something that’s not gonna add much to the narrative or if anyone has noticed it.

Here we go.

So basically in episode 12, Vash did his girlboss move of flinging himself and Nai over the ledge.

And as they’re falling, I noticed something:

To me, this reminds of the Yin Yang symbol:

Then I remember that one post where someone mentioned where Vash in episode 12 wore the colors of ‘evil’ (black and purple).

Knives wore the colors of ‘good’ (white and blue).

They’re polar opposites of one another.

And that got me thinking more in depth with their relation with Yin Yang.

Obviously everyone is familiar with two sides of the same coin. It’s the same idea with Yin Yang, they’re polar opposites but they complement each other.

As part of the Naruto fandom (*groans*, I know I know). But hear me out, lots of symbolism that is related to Naruto and Sasuke is their relation to the sun and moon respectively.

Naruto is the sun. The Yang per say, because he is bright, aggressive and masculine. His respective color is orange.

While Sasuke is the moon. The Yin, because he is with the shadows, silent and feminine. His respective color is purple.

If you read the Naruto manga, then you would see how much Kishimoto bashes your head in with their respective symbolism, it’s in the cover art, the parallelism in the panels. It even showed up as their respective symbols on their hands after the ceremony for the final battle.

Back to TriStamp.

I believe they put Knives as Yang. He is aggressive and very in your face with his conquests of taking back the Plants. He is very muscular, and it’s shown through his tight bodysuit.

Then they would put Vash as Yin. He is way less aggressive with his morals than his previous counterparts. Obviously he still has them, but he is less forthcoming. His entire character design has changed, as everyone says with his non-binary haircut.

But in certain scenes, he still has those broad shoulders and managed to lift a fucking ion cannon enough to break his prosthetic arm. So, my babygirl is still fucking strong, hmph.

It’s even mentioned that the director of TriStamp has said Vash is both the female and male lead.

Same thing with Sasuke, some Studio Perriot staff has stated that he is the heroine of the story.

Obviously Naruto and Sasuke’s relationship heavily implies they’re in love with each other and soulmate coded to the max.

(Ha, get it? Trigun MAXimum??)

But they did a different relationship of Yin Yang:

Twins.

Knives wanted desperately Vash to be the ‘perfect’ version that he envisioned. Taking away Vash’s bodily autonomy.

Vash just wanted to have ‘love and peace’ in the world. He didn’t want to fight Knvies, but he would defend his loved ones.

Until during episode 12, when he was ready to go in guns blazing to take down Knives.

With the color palette of black and purple against Knives’s white and blue.

Purple is the combination of red and blue. Vash’s red jacket and part of Knives’s color palette.

But also in the end, when Vash wanted to shoot that cube up in the sky.

He still wanted to save his brother, even though Knives was rejecting it by reaching to the absolute power of the cube and what it would bring him and Plant kind.

An Icarus-esque trope per say.

But yeah, anyways, this was just a jumble of thoughts I had to immediately write this down.

A/N: Thanks to the lovely anons who requested this! This kinda feels like a conclusion to the secret crush HCs we’ve been working on for a while(tho I’m sure we’ll come up with some more ideas like first dates or smth, lol) Hope y’all like it!

Jin:

I think he would want to plan out some elaborate scene and make it romantic with flowers and music or smth, but in actuality he just ends up blurting it out as you’re hanging out one day.

He’s almost done it so many times, the words literally always on the tip of his tongue, so when they finally do come out, he’s almost as surprised as you are.

He immediately turns anxious bc “Oh shit, that was out loud, what do I do now?!”, but when you say you love him too and kiss him, his mind just goes completely blank and he leans in more, following your lead.

It might not have been how he imagined confessing, but the outcome is better than anything he could’ve dreamed up.

Yoongi:

He would probably end up quietly confessing during one of your late night hangouts where you’re both so tired but not willing to say goodnight, the conversations getting deeper the later it gets.

He thought it would take a lot more to make him finally confess, but something about the way you sleepily smile at him made it so easy, the words rolling off his tongue with almost no effort.

Even though you may have already had your suspicions that you were into each other, it still comes as a slight shock to hear him say it, your startled expression making him fear for a second that you’ll reject him, but then you say you feel the same way and it’s like he can breathe properly for the first time in forever.

You end up talking till you fall asleep tangled together, happier and more content than you’ve both felt in a long time.

Hobi:

He would go all out, surprising you when you come over to hang out with flowers, candles/fairy lights, music, the works.(It almost looks more like a proposal than a confession, but he really wants to impress you and show how much you mean to him)

He would be so nervous, even if you both kinda already knew how the other felt, he can’t help worrying about what if he’d misread things or if you said no.

Luckily, his fears are completely unfounded, bc as soon as you walk in and he starts the speech he’s prepared, you nearly burst into tears before tackling him in a tight hug, saying you love him too.

Most of the evening is spent curled up together on the couch, fessing up to all the times where you fell for each other.

Namjoon:

It would probably happen after a fight or smth when you’re not talking to each other, forcing him to realize that he can’t keep lying to you about his feelings or pretending that nothing else is going on and still expect things to work out between you in any form.

He would probably either ask to meet up for coffee so you can talk things out or just show up at your house, depending on how brave he was feeling in the moment.

Has this whole ass speech prepared, but he doesn’t manage to get through even half of it before you’re pulling him into a kiss, effectively shutting him up for the next few minutes.

When you separate to breathe and his brain starts working again, you talk things out and admit how you both felt the whole time. It’s kinda messy and chaotic, but that’s how things have always been between you, why should this be any different?

Jimin:

I think he would take a semi-serious approach to confessing, almost in an attempt to counteract his normally aloof, flirty energy with you, sitting you down to talk about everything. His sudden shift in behavior would honestly make you kinda nervous, worried that something’s wrong.

He would definitely be slightly nervous too, even if he knew that you liked him too, since liking each other doesn’t necessarily mean that you want to be together.

Once he starts to tell you how he feels tho, it’s like he can’t stop, everything he’s been feeling pouring out until he catches sight of your teary expression. Before he can ask if you’re okay though, you tackle him, saying that you feel the same way about him before connecting your lips with his.

Not much else is said for the next little bit, finding much more, *ahem, inventive ways to express your feelings to each other.

Taehyung:

Similar to Jin, I think he would want to make some sort of elaborate romantic gesture, but it would end up just slipping out one night during a quiet moment together when he just can’t stand not being able to be close to you in the way he wants.

He would state it so simply, as if it was already obvious, trying to keep his voice calm despite the faint anxiety that began to creep through him the longer the pause between his words and your response stretches on.

When you smile and say you feel the same though, he could’ve sworn he was floating, quickly pulling you onto his lap and claiming your lips just like he’s always dreamed of.

You spend the rest of the evening tangled together, sharing kisses and talking until you drift off, at peace in your newfound home in each other's arms.

Jungkook:

Similar to Joon, I think it would happen after a fight or one of his moments of jealous possessiveness, when he realizes that no type of relationship between you, romantic or otherwise, will ever work unless he’s honest with you.

And even if he fears you might reject him(tho, he tries not to think about that), he has to get this off his chest, for both of your sakes.

Would probably just show up at your door and blurt everything out in an only partially thought-out speech that he came up with on the way over, barely giving you a chance to say anything until he runs out of breath, still talking even after you try shutting him up with a kiss.

Once he finally calms down, you’re able to talk things through more coherently, somehow still managing to surprise him when you say you want to be with him too.

can i request isagi, bachira, chigiri, nagi, reo, kuni, the itoshi brothers and barou with a socially awkward gf/crush who (kinda) hates kids?

like reader doesn’t HATE hate kids, but is like scared of them. kids are actually scary especially gen alpha 💀. how tf are these little gremlins watching skibidi toilet with a straight face just a short clip of it literally made me and my friends so uncomfortable we couldn’t continue 💀.

so more like she can watch kids from afar, and if she saw one in public, she wouldn’t throw a rock at it or call animal control. but talking to them? interacting with them?? HELL NO SHE CANT DO THAT.

it’s kinda like how we see zoo animals. best admired from afar, and if she ever gets stuck in an empty room with them, she’s screwed. as if talking to adults and teenagers wasn’t scary enough, their school just had to pick an orphanage/children’s hospital to volunteer at. she’s hiding in the corner watching her bf/crush deal with the like 7-year olds (maybe younger, who btw, were most likely bullying her just now.) wondering why and how people could stand those little gremlins.

(better still, if they go back to his place after the school volunteering activity and his parent(s)/sister jokingly mention grandkids/nieces/nephews and she’s like “ew i hate kids” or smth like that, but maybe more discreet idk how to tell even my own parents i hate children, let alone my (nonexistent) bf’s parents 💀)

once again it’s not that she actually hates kids, but sees them as a different species and can’t deal with them because they scare her, and sometimes bully her. 💀

Ngl this is actually so me, I love this idea so much- But the best part is the fact that I actually worked with kids for almost 2 years, and my friends club has us interacting with kids too... (I tried to do most of the characters but I had no ideas for some of them, but you can always re-request with the ones that I missed and the second I think of some ideas I'll def write it!!)

Isagi Yoichi -> Do we not remember when that one kid stopped him after the u-20 match.. Bro is good with kids, so luckily he can save you

-> He will slightly chuckle at you when you show up to this place where the children (gremlins) are at you slightly freak out, and he will laugh at you even more when your awkwardly standing in the corner because your way to freaked out to actually go talk to any of these kids

-> Has to keep reminding the kids not to laugh at you, and that your just not the best socially

-> Eventually tries to find you one of those kids who are also standing away from everybody else for you to interact with, both of y’all have something in common, you hate the other kids!

-> He will very much get confused on this skibidi toilet bullshit (who isn’t, tbh-) but he’ll sit through it so they can be entertained while he tries to make sure that your still alive in the corner

-> If you actually started talking to the kid that he sent your way he’ll be kinda proud, I mean obviously it’s not the other 10 kids he has with him, but it’s a step in the right direction!

-> If not he gets it, I mean what he’s watching with them right now is downright terrifying, so why wouldn’t the minds who consume it also be terrifying

-> Later on when you two finally end up heading back to his house he tells his parents about how you two were volunteering with children and when they offhandedly mention that it would be nice to have grandchildren in the future he can only laugh.

-> He grew up as an only child and I’m assuming he didn’t have a bunch of friends when he was growing up so I don’t think he would be the absolute best with kids, but still better than others

-> The kids will be a little confused when he starts trying to teach them about business and economics saying that this was the age he started learning about running a business

-> They might end up gravitating towards you since you’re just kinda confused along with them, trying to explain to him not every kid grew up with their future of running a family company.

-> Will totally laugh when he sees how freaked out you are with these little (gremlins) kids trying to get your attention and asking if your any more fun than Mr.Business (Which they had nicknamed Reo) -> Will eventually learn and get them to leave you alone, after almost 10 minutes of you trying to hide behind him or anywhere else in this room so they can’t talk to you

-> Ends up helping them instead with other things like reading and math stuff, not the brain rot of skibidi toilet (thank god)

-> That night you two had ended up going out to dinner with his parents as they wanted to have a nice sit down meal while they talked about what was possibly coming up in the future, including your future with Reo, and kids. He smiled and took your hand in his.

“After today, I don’t think we’ll have to worry about an heir to the Mikage Corp for quite a while of time”

-> BRO HAS TWO SISTERS, One older and one younger, Man knows his way around kids, for sure. I take no criticism on this.

-> Is actually so good with kids, you now are speculating that he’s actually a single teen dad with like 2 kids or something that he just hasn’t told you about. He’s that good (it’s actually scary)

-> He will not let them watch skibidi toilet, another man who is respectable and makes sure they are doing educational stuff

-> To which he figured that this wasn’t the way to go about it so he just put on some random movie he remembers from when he was a kid, too bad it was one of the ones from his flight to Spain when he was younger and it was all in Spanish. HI thank you!!! <3 It’s been mentioned here and there (I think I talked about it in the Part 1 post), but it’s probably not a bad idea to recap every now and then for any new folks. (I then proceeded to write everything out more detail than I’ve ever talked about it before!) so hopefully this makes things a little more clear! Gbjdghkvjm

Etho, who was still trying to get used to a full range of emotions on top of his first life series, had a REALLY hard time with how Last Life ended— the adrenaline and fear of Death Games’ Survival of the Fittest and being pit against all of his friends is one thing, but something about his relationship with bdubs was so much more important to him, and he essentially blames himself for bdubs’ permanent death in the series. He vividly remembers (has recorded + logged the memories of) himself telling bdubs he wouldn’t give him a life unless he killed one of the other reds— remembers bdubs saying he’ll kill to earn the life, remembers him looking so earnest and determined, vividly remembers the moment the message rang out that Bdubs had gotten his kill, and the message that Grian had killed Bdubs shortly after.

Etho never quite forgave himself for being the self-perceived reason bdubs dies (after all, he should have just given bdubs the life if he really cared and wanted him to survive), and he takes this grief back with him as they return to Hermitcraft Season 8. As someone who’s very new to feelings of guilt and failure, you can imagine how hard he took this— reviewing the memories again and again, trying to understand why he made those decisions, realizing how selfish he is, comparing his “failure to protect bdubs” to when he was first assigned to Bdubs, when he sacrificed himself to keep Bdubs safe.

As the moon situation escalated and hermitcraft got increasingly busy, Etho couldn’t find it in himself to confront bdubs (maybe not seeing himself fit to deserve bdubs’ forgiveness, or fearing Bdubs’ disappointment or anger with him) and his fears and regrets kind of slowly ate away at him until it shut him down. It’s actually a recurring theme for Etho that, because of the damage he sustained from the creeper blast that caused his deviancy, his systems are actually kind of fragile when it comes to pushing them to their extremes. When he feels an extraordinary amount of overwhelming emotion, his thirium pump starts to work in overdrive, and thirium starts leaking from all of the places his shell is cracked— his face, his shoulder, and his arm.

So the idea is that, Etho returns to Season 8 trying to… more or less forget about what happened— except he can’t, he’s obsessed with what happened, and his emotions start to overwhelm him until thirium starts to leak and whatnot. But I think deviants are fairly used to “dismissing” warnings, as sometimes their thirium pump will skip, their temperature will rise, or other system updates may happen when they feel certain emotions, and Etho is so distracted (or. Trying to be distracted) that he doesn’t realize he’s dismissing Thirium Loss notifications until it’s too late. He begins to shut down with Last Life on his mind, and the system errors that follow are all garbled out.

This technically happens before the moon destroys the server, which means etho is offline, or broken, or what have you, when the server gets destroyed, and this is actually what truly glitches him out. When Xisuma and Doc try to reboot him at the beginning of season 9, Etho’s system is caught on a glitch: Etho had shut down thinking about last life, so his programming is trying to eliminate the threat who killed bdubs as an attempt to fix what happened (bdubs dying). Etho’s trying to eliminate grian (who isn’t a threat anymore, because this isn’t last life, last life was ages ago) but he’s not thinking straight and can’t process anything beyond the Desperation+Fear+Guilt. Since Grian’s not in the room, he goes for the next best thing: the person who might be able to tell him where Grian is: the server admin. Doc just gets in the way of Etho trying to get to Xisuma, so Etho “decommissions” Doc in an attempt to remove him from the equation.

So um. Yeah! That should be everything more or less explained… hopefully it also clears up some details you may or may not notice in the comics! Etho starts leaking thirium throughout the destruction comics, Etho goes for Xisuma first… Etho having memory flashbacks of Last Life. If anything is particularly confusing feel free to ask more questions! But it’s kinda nice to be able to write out how I’ve logic’d out all of this happening in my head hehe (i plan on posting the DBHC Etho playlist soon with a brief explanation of each song in Etho’s timeline, so hopefully that will help too!) :]

Mandatory family trips thatGray definitely doesn’t try to avoid (Lyon and Ultear have learnt to alert the guild when they’re coming so Gray can’t escape).

Once a month (at least) family trip are a must, It started with Ultear dragging Lyon places during the 7 year gap but it started being a more regular thing when Gray turned back up

the first couple time they tried to do things together, it was a disaster

they werent familiar with each other and were hella awkward

Also, when Lyon & Ultear would mention to Gray they were coming into town, he would try to convince the team to go on an impromptu job

they’ve since learned to warn Erza of their arrival so he cant leave

‘abt to come into town, do not let that mf leave’

Grays probably walked into the guild to see one or both of them and turned right back around

The first time the showed up when Gray wasnt around they got a shovel-esque talk

it was terrifying and also confusing considering they think of themselves as his siblings so shouldnt they be giving those talks?

Ultear really embraces her oldest sibling role and pays for practically everything they do together

While Gray will try to avoid in person outings, he will blow up their phones (lacrima devices, whatever) at all hours of the night

Lyon probably has a 16 step skin care routine that he tries to nag the other two into trying it

its a fools quest tbh

They argue. so much. cannot do anything together without a disagreement. they probably have fist fought each other too

They are fiercely protective of one another, they can be pretty subtle about it but its clear as day to anyone who even slightly crosses them

They as a whole have a gambling/betting problem

They have run their pockets dry with it

They have been kicked out of multiple restaurants for being too loud

Gray tells them off-handedly abt the jobs and events he went through while growing up in Fairy Tail and they just sit back and listen in horrified fascination

they have absolutely no planned photos of them, they just never got around to it (*coughcough* grayrefusedtobeinone *coughcough*)

however! they have soooo many candid ones, Gray glared and complained when he found out (but he has half of them framed or saved on his phone)

Ultear and Lyon got pretty close duriny the 7 year gap and while Gray swears hes not jealous of it he totally is

When I said saw the recent hthf and haircuts prompt and had an idea for a one shot I meant that I'd be inspired by the hthf story and had an idea for a one shot prompt cause of it. Wasn't suggesting the prompt for the hthf series, wouldn't make sense cause as u said, her appearance is key for her job. It’s rare that Annabeth Chase loses a bet. It’s also rare that anyone would bet against her. But Leo Valdez is a brave soul. Or, more likely though Annabeth does not have proof, he cheated.

“Never,” Leo says with a grin that’s too wide for her liking. She wants to push him on it but a combination of still just being happy the dude is alive and the fact that Percy chooses that moment to walk up to them, stops her.

“Hey guys, what’s…” Percy’s smile fades as he looks at her. Which probably means she’s doing a bad job at hiding her frown. “What happened?”

“I need you to cut my hair,” she replies through gritted teeth.

“What?”

Before Leo can open his mouth to gloat (he would probably call it explaining) she buts in.

“Don’t worry about it, just cut off a little at the ends.”

Percy looks confused, which is almost cute enough to make her smile but then Leo opens his mouth and ruins it.

“A little?”

She allows a smug smile at that. At least when she loses, she tries to keep it in her favor. “We never specified how much of a haircut.”

Leo frowns. “Yeah, but it also needs to be an actual haircut. I was picturing Beauty Queen style. You don’t want to wimp out over a measly inch?” He says the last part in a slightly more teasing tone.

She knows he’s trying to bait her, Percy looks rightly concerned, but she’s not going to fall for it.

Shrugging, she replies casually enough. “It’s called strategy, next time set a better bet.”

Plus, just because Piper can pull off the messy haircut look doesn’t mean she can. Piper can pull of basically anything, and Annabeth knows she needs to play to her strengths to look good.

Unfortunately, one of those strengths is her hair.

Leo shrugs. “Alright, whatever, let’s see Percy try to only cut a little.” He pulls scissors out of his toolbelt and hands them over to Percy who takes them unsurely.

Her anxiety spikes now that the scissors are in Percy’s hand. She loves the guy, but she is not confident in his ability to do this well.

Hi there [walks up to you with a clipboard and pen] I’d like to ask you a few questions about your lobotomy family au.

Do you think anything Raz owned had his birthdate on it? Like the blanket with his name on it was like made specially for him and had his birth information on it? Or did Cal have no idea how old this child was or when his birthday was when he found him? Cause I was thinkin what if the inmates all got together and came up with a birthdate for him and decided one arbitrarily so they could celebrate every year. That would be cute I think.

Do u think Raz ever stumbled into some random places at camp. Like what if he accidentally fell into a stump and wound up in Ford’s lab? Ford goes “who is this sassy lost child” and helps him out and then immediately forgets it actually happened the next day and writes the experience off as a weird dream. Or maybe Raz finds him again later in like the lodge and ford gives him a free psi pop or smth lol. Ford being the only adult who knows Raz exists and not really taking note of it because of the state of his mind, or telling like Sasha and Sasha not taking it seriously like “I bet he’s just been listening to too many of the campers’ stories”. Good concept I think

Raz knowing the camp’s entire layout like the back of his hand before he actually gets to attend camp as a camper. Coach is like “here let me show you back to the kids’ cabins” and Raz is like “no thanks I already know where they are” [backflips into the trees]

Hm do you think Raz got to practice many psychic skills before camp? Or did he not really get to understand it because of Cal’s strained relationship with psychic powers. Idk if you answered this elsewhere but what’s going on there. Raz experiments and makes a levitation bubble and cal immediately flips out and tells him to never do that again? Or is he a supportive dad and helps Raz figure it out. Hm. Cal and Augustus both have psychic trauma so maybe that part wouldn’t be changed from the original. What do you think lol

I’d imagine Raz did get lots of practice with his psi-crobatics tho. Psychic stuff and acrobatics both coming naturally to him plus all his practice climbing around in the trees probably meant he was able to develop that skill pretty well, even if he doesn’t really understand how it works lol. This au needs to keep the adults being shocked with how well he can maneuver some of those obstacles like in basic braining because of his acrobatic upbringing

Okay, to answer your first question, the blanket Raz got was kind of a passed down thing. It actually has Dion and Frazies birthdays on it, but it didn't have his because Nona couldn't sew it on in time before the accident :( its kind of funny though, because the inmates argued about which one could be his birthday, despite the fact that, that would mean this baby was actually 8 or 6 lol

Anywas, yes! Raz has already gotten himself familiar with the camp. He will admit it's a lot more different in the day time though.

For Psychic powers, he had a bit of an understanding of it. He knew how to levitate a bit but not for very long. He was pretty good at telekinesis and pyro. Cal doesn't really care to much about it. He's actually pretty proud! But he's still VERY protective because he doesn't want him to be discovered by the wrong people and have the same thing that happened to him, happen to his son. He is very similar to Augustus in that sense, he wants to be supportive, but he also wants to keep his kid safe, y'know?

And acrobatics do come surprisingly naturally to Raz. As a kid, he found he was surprisingly agile, and that whole thing Donna said about "highly stretchable ligaments" was no joke! He also has double jointed everything, no joke. It's kind of funny how naturally he can flip and twist his body. He's obviously not as good as he would have been if he was still raised by the Aquatos, but he's still pretty good.

I am just happy to spread the brainrot that this au has inflicted upon me :)

I mean I’m somewhat positive that 90% of current good italian narrative doesn’t get translated much but tbf I read more italian classics than contemporaries and i think most of those got translated but one i really liked recentlyish is named (translating the title) the boar who shot liberty valance and you already guessed WHY i went and picked it up given the reference to my favorite western movie ever in the title 😂 it’s a very good one though! and uuh lemme check no okay both maurizio de giovanni and giancarlo de cataldo aka two mystery writers i generally enjoy got translated, camilleri of course did as well so nope, BUUT i checked smth else and apparently not all of cesare pavese’s work was translated into english and I am extremely disappointed in hearing it because he’s one of the best italian writers in existence nor to mention one of the few people whose poetry i immediately enjoyed from the get go which is not a given for me, they only translated moon and bonfires but like all the others are amazing as well, also Iemme check beppe fenoglio other great post wwii writer only got two of his books translated and post 90s and i doubt his wuthering heights theater adaptation was which truly saddens me, i’m not 100% sure of how much of verga was translated but while answering you i found out lawrence translated one of his novels which i had no idea of and now i kinda want to check it.. anyway ngl probably 90% of what won our most prestigious literary award here did not get translated but I also have stopped paying attention to it since a book I considered an utter piece of trash won so i’m out of the loop 😭 but if i can think of anything else or if any italians want to chime in go off!

I’m horrified, 10/10 would recommend.

Rant under the cut (has spoilers lol)

it definitely was something else. When Ted was talking about the humans creating AM, I got Frankenstein vibes. Really we have so much literature about human’s creating sentience, and it backfiring on them. Both ask the question, “can man play God?” And the answer has been “it will kill you”

which really begs the question “will man kill god?” (I digress)

but in each case humanity has been put above what it created. But in Frankenstein the monster was abandoned before he could be taught humanity, and showed it naturally but was rejected, so he rejected his humanity too.

in I have no Mouth, AM was built as a tool of war, therefore, it wasn’t ALLOWED to have humanity. Because if you felt for those who you were killing, you’d feel guilty.

But let’s define what humanity even means, according to the Oxford Dictionary, Humanity is:

1. the human race; human beings collectively.

2. humaneness; benevolence

The first one doesn’t really fit with AM and the monster, but it shouldn’t be completely thrown out quite yet. The monster in Frankenstein was made by Frankenstein (aka the little bastard) to be better than humans as they were. He strived to create the perfect human, but instead, created his “monster” (what did you think was gonna happen bluv? Look at it, it has anxiety!)

AM, however was not created to be human, while created, probably, to be smarter (he was a computer) he wasn’t supposed to be human, he is a machine.

The second definition is probably what you think of when I use the word humanity.

Benevolence means: the quality of being well meaning; kindness.

The monster (the creation, not Victor), has benevolence. We see his capacity of kindness, when he watches the family. He does small things to protect and help them. He saves people (i.e. the boy in the river) but loses it after being rejected. (Also it bugs me that the stereotype of Frankenstein’s monster can’t speak, all the grunting and ‘fire bad’ shit. He was very well spoken, and very intelligent)

AM, on the other hand, was not given benevolence, being created during the Cold War/WWIII. And never shows any kindness.

Now let’s talk about hate. Both AM, and the monster hate their creators. In Frankenstein this is for creating him, and abandoning him. It’s very clearly outlined. In I have no Mouth, it’s different. AM doesn’t hate his creators for making him, but for trapping him. They gave him a mind, a will, an identity and no way to use it. And (probably bc it’s a war machine) it retaliated by killing everyone expect the 5.

Now, Frankenstein’s monster, and AM have very different reactions, the monster never tries to play god, still seeing Victor in that role, (I have a whole thing on that), while AM, in the caverns, does play God. He purposely uses biblical references, (i.e. the burning bush, the archangles, etc.) to suggest that he is their God, (or that their God has forsaken them). Ted actually comments on this “If there was a god, it was AM” (or smth, I don’t have it on me rn). But then he later realizes that “it [AM] was no god, it was a machine” (again I’m recalling from memory don’t @ me).

I could probably talk for a few hours on this, and include more, like Ted slut-shaming Ellen (You have no idea how much this bugs me), Benny, Victor’s God Complex, how all this relates to today’s use of AI, humans and killing god, and more, but instead I’m going to just talk about the last bit bc this is already too long.

In the end Ted ends up much like how I feel AM felt in the beginning. The infamous line, “I have no mouth, and I must scream” is really giving me how AM must have felt when it first came to sentience. Of course I’m not saying AM is the victim here, (whereas in Frankenstein the monster is definitely more of a victim; but it’s complicated okay?) but that he probably unknowingly has created, in Ted, what AM felt. This suffocating feeling of knowing, and being unable to voice it. Being created without a physical part to scream. It really speaks for itself. I’ve read scary shit, but nothing quite is as terrifying as being unable to scream, not just out of fear (like in the Quiet Place), but not having the physical ability to do so.

awawawa so tsukasa tenma. world future star. he isn’t too different from canon tbh. he’s still loud as always, got that high ego, got those memory issues and everything. his past isn’t much different from canon either. his goal to be a star still came from wanting to make people smile like shows made saki smile, but he forgets that, etc etc you get how it goes. but yknow. n25 swap. he isn’t doing great.

he tends to set high standards for himself, and he’s been trying really hard to get into the acting scene, but it hasn’t been going well. the constant failures have slowly but surely been weighing on him. he’s got a lot of frustration building up, and all that has definitely hit him in the self esteem department *just a tad*, but he does not acknowledge that! cause of course he doesn’t. he’s tsukasa tenma, he’s going to be a star! a star like him doesn’t have time to worry about stuff like that. all he needs to do is keep pushing forward, keep trying harder and harder, just don’t think about the past and all the constant setbacks and he’ll be fine! probably. he has to be fine after all. what kind of a star would he be if he wasn’t?

saki and toya do notice smth’s up with him, saki especially, but tsukasa being tsukasa he lies to them, both intentionally and unintentionally. by that i mean like. like he genuinely Does Not Know he’s not fine. he is just avoiding thinking about his own negative feelings too much, so he just does not fucking realize. when he’s confronted with the idea that he might not actually be perfectly fine, he’s genuinely confused. so when he’s asked if he’s okay, he says yes, because he’s sure he is. and sure sometimes he gets a little down, and he does intentionally lie to them those times, but its simply nothing his siblings need to worry about, so there’s no point in telling them! they don’t need to know, cause he’ll be okay! he can deal with it on his own, he *has* to deal with it on his own, he’ll (repress it) get over it soon enough! no need to worry them :)

like i mentioned, tsukasa’s also the only one still actively doing theater at the time of the main story. he loves it, he’s dedicated to it, he hasn’t given up on it yet. and he gets to be the one to get hw back into it. yayayayay. i like to think hw is very fond of him, like rui and nene were w/ emu. here’s another one of their group who holds so much passion for theater and loves it, and who hasn’t given up on it. they believe in him. its like living vicariously through him. yk. they might not know each other too well yet, but they hope it goes well for him.

and like idk but the thing about tsukasa and theater is that its So important to him, he’s devoted so much of his life to it, he can’t see himself doing anything else. he doesn’t have a driving motivation for it, he can’t remember it, but all he’s sure of is that he has to reach this goal. so like. when faced with the idea that maybe he *isn’t* good enough to become a star like he wants to, its terrifying to him. so he just. doesn’t think about that. every failed audition, every rejection, every setback is a reminder of that though. main story gets him to his last straw. which is fun!

again. main story ideas are giving me trouble. and i’m still figuring stuff out. so not elaborating too much on what happens. but after a series of events tsukasa remembers and gets the rest of hw on board w/ trying to do shows again. cause like, again they don’t know each other that well but tsukasa does care about them, he wants to make people smile and his friends are included in that. he wants them to enjoy shows again. he wants his friends happy. and w/ enough persuasion hw joins him and yayy they become a theater troupe. yippee :3

Jin:

When you told him about the date, he was honestly surprised by his own reaction; the sudden, rising sense of panic enough to make him feel physically ill, but he tries to hide it.

As much as it kills him though, your happiness is still the most important thing to him, so he lets you go without saying anything.

He even tries to ask you how things went the next day, even though the question feels like a fistfull of wet sand in his mouth.

When he hears you had a lousy time however, he’s hit with a wave of elation, followed immediately by guilt, as he listens to you explain how you never feel comfortable with anyone the way you are with him.

The whole ordeal is the final push he needs to admit to himself that he has to tell you how he feels.

Yoongi:

As soon as he hears mention of you having a date, he turns soo sullen. Like, this is one the few times his poker face would slip and you can practically see the raincloud over his head.

Probably lowkey avoids you for the days leading up to and following your date, cause he doesn’t want to hear, or even think about it.

Until you call to check on him and he finds out that you didn’t even go on the date after all, and his attitude does a full 180, suddenly sounding much brighter as he asks if you wanna hang out.

Despite his relief, there’s a new, lingering worry in his mind about what if you find someone else.

Starts trying to do extra things with you that are more couple-y, trying to subtly show you what being in a relationship with him could be like.

Hobi:

Full on panicking.

The mere idea of you with someone else brings out a possessive side of him that he didn’t even realize was there.

Like, he didn’t consider himself a jealous person, but after he almost punched Jungkook for just saying that he thought you were attractive, he’s not so sure.

This would for sure be the thing that ends up causing him to snap and confess.

Like, he would show up at your door and just spill out this big, rambly speech he only half thought through on the way over because he can’t take it anymore. He loves you, and he needs you to know.

Namjoon:

He would get soo passive aggressive and salty about the whole situation, though of course you don’t understand his sudden attitude shift.

Y’all would end up having a big fight about the whole thing and wind up not talking for a bit.

Until he hears from one of the other guys that the date went absolutely awful, and then he’s immediately calling or showing up at your place, to make sure you're okay.

Is super apologetic as he tries to comfort you as best he can, feeling like shit for having made the situation worse for you.

Starts realizing that he needs to come clean about his feelings for you, but isn’t sure how to proceed.

Jimin:

The human embodiment of the “this is fine” meme.

Wants desperately to distance himself from the whole situation, but he literally can never stay away from you, so he ends up just trying to smile through the pain as you go on about how excited you are.

Convinces himself that one date’s not that big of a deal, it doesn’t mean anything.

He would crack though if one of the other members showed interest in you, pulling them aside and telling them what’s going on, wanting to avoid any potential issues.

Seriously considers confessing after talking things through with them, though it might take him a while to get up the nerve.

Taehyung:

When he finds out about your date, he doesn’t even bother trying to hide his distaste for the whole situation, becoming withdrawn and sulky.

When you comment on it though, saying he's acting like he’s jealous or smth, he’ll vehemently deny it, but he’s not fooling anyone.

Mainly just avoids talking about it as much as possible tho.

If one of the other members says anything about being into you, however, all attempts at a poker face go out the window, telling them point blank to back off.

He would end up planning to confess after that, realizing that if he doesn’t, he’ll lose you to someone else.

Jungkook:

I know I sound like a broken record, but this is his kryptonite. He absolutely cannot stand to see you with someone else.

If another member even hints about being interested in you, he’s shutting them down soo fast, inadvertently letting his own feelings for you show through, but they don’t say anything.

Like Hobi, he would end up confessing, though it would probably come out in the middle of a fight.

Like, he would be going off about why are you going out with somebody like them?! “You deserve so much better!” “Why do you even care?!” “Because I love you!”

And everything just freezes for a minute before you both slowly sit down, finally talking everything out properly.

Lucia - The quiet kid who’s also really popular for some reason. She doesn’t seem talk to people that much but for some reason everyone seems to know and like her somehow. I don’t even think she knows most of their names

Lee - The robotics/gamer kid who somehow has an unreasonable amount of rizz Also one of the quiet ones. Ngl I feel like Gray Raven is just that quiet friend group who always does their own thing and eats lunch in the art room together or smth. Lee by all means seems like he’s be sort of a loser, but no, he’s got EVERYONE trying to tap his non existent ass. I have this type of friend, I have no idea why but they (yeah there are two of em) always pull the baddest bitches. It’s insane.

Liv - The shy and kind kid Liv is the kid that nobody makes fun of because if you did, you would have the entire school on your ass. She is that nice, and absolute angel. Though I feel like she’s also the quiet kid you should be scared of, most people are smart enough not to fuck with her but a few weren’t.

Chrome - The golden child/overachiever This man. He’s on the principal’s list, he’s got a bunch of scholarships lined up for him, multiple extracurriculars, plus he’s rich, nice, and hot. This is the kid that has EVERYTHING it’s insane. But he definitely deserves it, and he’s always willing to help with homework. Suffers from bad taste in men (Vonnegut) because from my experience, all the kids of this kind do. Like that is the only thing wrong with them, their romantic preferences.

Kamui - The class clown and gamer kid Ngl I think he would be made fun of, but he’s just such a nice guy honestly. Another member of the disciples of rizz, somehow always pulls some bad bitches. I feel like he would wear blatant anime merch and maybe those wolf hoodies tho. Also big ass headphones all the time. Sorry Kamui stans.

Camu - Gamer boy part 2 + gets in trouble a lot He also vapes in the washroom when skipping class. Really good at one subject, barely average in the rest. I want to say that he’s the hot Wattpad delinquent bad boy, but he’s a hardcore gamer so he doesn’t get that luxury. Skips school quite a bit, gets into a lot of fights. Yeah.

Wanshi - The kid who never shows up for class We all have that one friend who never shows up to school right? Yeah, that’s Wanshi. Except he probably shows up on test days or for big projects. He still passes tho. Textbook definition of really smart, just lazy.

Karenina - The loud girl that’s always got beef I don’t like her. She seems like that basic ass bitch who is actually always mad at everything and really mean to the guy she likes. But not in a cute way, just annoying. Decent grades, probably argues with the teacher tho. Yeah, we all know this kid right?

Bianca - The Christian white girl who has a rebellious phase later I don’t like Bianca either, but I feel like every textbook Lulu Lemon/Aritzia Christian white girl eventually goes through a rebellious phase or abandons religion completely. Watanabe - The actual hot delinquent Sorry Camu, Watanabe gets to be the Wattpad boy. He’s just so cold around anyone that isn’t Gray Raven/Kamui that I think he’s just that kid. He’s not an asshole though, minds his own business most of the time but gets into a lot of fights. He’s also something like a big brother to everyone. Teachers hate him though. Also skips fairly often, but he’s always at parties. Mostly as the designated driver. To everyone’s surprise, he wants to be a teacher and that is what he goes and does after high school.

Luna - The popular girl with all the tea I just know Luna hears absolutely everything and uses it as black mail. She’s pretty chill and likeable most of the time though, hence why she’s so popular. Probably on the student council methinks. Pretty good grades too.

Alpha - The popular athletic kid She doesn’t strike me as a tomboy necessarily, just athletic. And gay as fuck. I don’t know what it is guys, I think it might be the Doc Martens. I feel like when she’s not doing sports she’s the cool alt girl everyone wishes they were. Gets into fights and always wins them. Surprisingly, she’s well likes by teachers because she’s pretty quiet in class.

Roland - The theatre/show choir kid You all saw this one coming from a mile away. I said show choir kid too because show choir kids are actually an entirely different breed of crazy. Like we nutty as fuck. (yes, I am a show choir kid, point and laugh guys) Super flamboyant and shows off a lot- worst part is it’s actually always really impressive. Doc Martens wearer number 2, probably made a shrine to Lin Manuel Miranda in the washroom as a joke once, or a Pedro Pascal one. Either or.

Saw DND:Honor among thieves and I have THOUGHTSSSSS

Disclaimer: I am a dnd nerd but not intensely so. So compared to other more serious dnd people I probably care less about ‘game accuracy’ or whatever. Also, if your gonna reblog with “weren’t we boycotting” or smth, just leave bestie also SPOLIERS duh

ANYWAY- my main critique is the pacing. Overall, the fast paced nature helped keep the vibe flowing without getting caught but their were a couple times where I kinda got overwhelmed with how often we were switching scenes. That and I agree with the critiques of the tiefling design being rather boring, especially when you factor in her whole “I hate humans” thing since she looks almost exactly like them.

…and that’s it….no really! I found myself enjoying this film FAAARRRR more than I thought I would. At the end, I think why I loved it much more than similar movies is that it nailed the humor and comedic timing. It has its serious moments and it does them well, but overall it’s a really fucking funny movie where one of the main villains is defeated with a potato to the face. There are several stellar jokes, like-

“What’s wrong with my lips!?”

The dwarven bridge

The fake window at the end

And of course NAT 20 potato!

I was laughing a lot throughout the movie, definitely it’s best aspect in my opinion. But I also loved the relationship between Edgin (the bard) and Hulga (the barbarian). I LOVE that they have raised this child platonically and have no desire to change that. There’s no secret crush or anything, they’re both interested in the opposite sex, just not each other. Simon is stellar, his arc is very sweet and simple and I love how his magic is shown. I like how he knows what he can or cannot do, the range of his spells and stuff like that. He doesn’t just wave his hands and magic just happens, it’s an actual skill. Of course the Druid solos, the use of the wild shape is so creative and very fun. And xenk (the paladin) is so deadpan and serious, I love him. All these characters are very silly and fun and fit very well into the goofy writing. I will say, the red wizards are not very fleshed out, but for most of the movie they aren’t really the main villain so it’s whatever to me.

The effects were really dope! They were several times where I think the practical effects really made the creatures that much more real. Defiantly a great case study for why it’s a great idea to ditch CGI (at least partially) and go practical.

Lastly, the serious scenes are really nice here, I’ll discuss two.

1st, the scene where they almost break up. Every good campaign needs to almost break up but I really like this scene. Yes, Edgin has lied by omission but only because he truly believes that Simon can do it. I like how he brings them back together, he doesn’t exclude himself from being a fuckup as well. But you have to keep trekking until youre happy, becuase if you don’t, your past trauma has won. Its very sweet how they all sit together. But what I love most is that they pivot their plan, Edgin still believes in Simon but realizes that not every insecurity can be over come by encouragement. So they come up with a plan that feels more comfortable, but just as crazy.

And 2nd, of course the death scene at the end. Yes it was predictable,but hulga dying and coming back is not what makes this scene, it’s Edgin putting his daughter first. Obviously I think she would want to meet her birth mother, but at the same time it’s a women she’s never known. Edgin realizes that he’s the only person here who would rather bring back his wife than Hulga. He comes to terms with the fact the Hulga is just as much his child’s parent as him or his wife, she means just as much to her. So, finally, he puts his daughters feelings first and resurrects the closest thing to a mother she’s ever had. It’s heartbreaking, but the action of a true parent.

OVERALL, I really loved this movie, again a lot more than I thought I would. Its funny, witty, fast paced fantasy fun. If you don’t want to give money to WOTC or Hasbro, watch it after it gets released online. But I definitely recommend it!

Trigun Bookclub Trimax Vol1 Part 1

Keeping myself relatively short to not get behind with the schedule, so here is Part 1 of Vol1 of Trimax!

The saga begins: Wolfwood unable to finish his food

I really like the first panel here! Nothing big to point out, I just think it looks cool how the head is tilted, and the flow of the hair. Lina probably combs through the hair every day so it doesn’t get that fluffy like we normally know Vash’s hair to be when he has no gel in it

First panel Wolfie looks so blushy! He could be acting but I think he’s genuinely happy to see Vash? 

Man that page looks just so amazing! I thought about how Nightow often shows much sky in his panels, above a ground that is vast, completely flat apart from buildings and often a bit tilted/diagonally. Then of course the sand clouds...All that really adds up to the overall feeling we get of this planet. Especially the vast sky I think!

Spoilers for Knives in this segment:

I wonder why Knives is shown here with this weird armour that makes him look like some kind of holy/evil knight. Later on he’s never associated with that look anymore if I recall correctly. Maybe I forgot? But I think it was probably just some designy idea that he disregarded later on when he introduced Knives properly, because it didn’t quite fit him anymore. And like this, the yet unknown villain seems more like a typical villain, not telling the reader yet that he might have motives and a worldview that in his mind makes him think he’s actually a savior, someone who does good.

Nothing particular to point out in the Eriks arc but I just wanted to say in general, I love this arc! The panels where we see how they tended to Vash when he appeared injured, how they made him part of their family, how he enjoyed it...and then when Lina has to let him go! I read these parts like Lina has a little crush on Vash, like you might have on an older mysterious but caring guy who treats you like an equal..or it’s love for a big brother! It could be just a mix, it’s probably not important or completely distinguishable anyway. It’s just sweet to see how important Vash became for her and Sheryl, too!

And then another more technical thing, that’s not really an analysis because I didn’t spend much time on it but could be interesting to note when you make comics: I had a look at the pages of ch2 and when it comes to the pacing of the comic, or rather how to keep the interest up, you could say that for every page you can find a little summary that brings something new to the story. Uhm what I mean is eg. page 13 could be: “Lina’s affection for Vash”. (I might have numbered them differently than youu) P14: “Bad guy appears”. P15: “Bad guy threatens them”. P16: “Vash does not care” P17: “Provocation and attack”. It’s probably needless to point this out cause it’s like “Duh of couse you can do this” but when you’re making comics and drawing in general it’s often helpful to remind yourself again of the most logical and smallest things. So I guess what I myself as a comic artist would want to take from this, since I quite like the spacing in the chapters of Trigun, is, that with every new page you want to introduce a new aspect to the story, even if they are only talking. To keep the story interesting and have the reader wanting to read the next page as well!

Hehe Meryl going bleeep Also as soon as she hears Vash might be in danger, she’s going after him! That’s our girl, taking initiative!

A beautiful page is a beautiful page. This page always struck out to me, especially the mid section with Vash (he looks so beautiful too!) Is it more crowded than normally? I’m not sure and a bit too lazy to fully analyze if there’s even smth to analyze. I guess I just like it! Also, the following page is also really cool! This page and the next are a really good example of storytelling without words!

Collection of two panels with very pretty Vash with eyelashes! Dammit Nightow, why did you make such a sweet and caring and emotional and tortured main character and THEN even made him be so pretty? Readers have to fall in love with this sweet boy.

Another thing I just noticed on my third reread (makes me wonder just how fast I skimmed through these pages on the first 2 reads): Meryl not only protecting Vash by stopping this maniac, but also figuring out that this is also a big insurance fraud plan! Meryl is def the employee of the month!

UH OH Milly is angry. You dared hurting her partner?? Jail for bad assassin guy, 200 years jail!

Does this mean they are spending their vacation together? aww :3
