One of these days when I decide to try to make dolls out of better material, I want to try to make a reversible doll. The concept is the same as those happy/angry octopuses and I think I know how it could be done. The reason why I would like to try to make one is to make a Changeling doll and the 'reverse' side is their disguise.

Stupid but possibly maybe probably not genius idea I just had: stuffed animal version of a balloon animal.
I've seen a crotched/knitted version of it around where they make, like, the sausage link looking string of little tubes stuffed with batting connected with narrow sections, make the tubes correspond with how long you need each "body part" to be, and then twist it together like a real balloon animal
BUT
Sewed instead.
Again, this is probably a terrible idea and I'd have no idea how to feasibly pull it off in reality (would I be able to make the thin connecting bits fabric sewed into a tight tube connected to the main bigger tube structure or would it have to be a different material like string or yarn attached to the end of the main tube? How to structure the pattern to begin with and would I be able to pull off maybe making it one long ass piece sewed into a tube of varying thicknesses? What fuckin fabric do I even use for this??? etc etc, you get the picture)
If anyone has any input it would be appreciated otherwise it's the very time consuming and expensive option of trial and error, I'm gonna do some searching myself and see if someone else has come up with a version of this that doesn't suck

There's Ksmantle Vs., well, what about SquidKeegan Vs.?😁
What is he up against? Well, I kinda wanna push boundaries a bit. I still want SquidKeegan to be for everyone. I just see SquidKeegan as something for the people that grew up with my Ksmantle content or so.😁
I want to spread awareness for everyone, but don't know how to pull it off. This kind of crime is something I wanted to call out for years. Ever since I hit that age of realization that those people exist.😐
SquidKeegan gets anxiety, especially when it comes to that stuff. So, how paranoid is he for the people close to him? I don't know the name for this idea. SquidKeegan Vs. something. I'm leaning toward more to...SquidKeegan Vs. Lowlifes? He is battling them after all.🤷‍♂️😁
Don't know about this project though.😕

Birthday Self-Portrait 2024
Right now I'm working on a belated portrait for my 28th birthday, which I need to get done soon because my next birthday is only 6 months away! But working on it has given me lots of ideas for future birthday portraits.
For my 2025 birthday self-portrait I want to do a composition of me sitting at my art desk with all my computer monitors lit up. It could have big bunches of flowers spilling out from inside the screens, or it could be lots of trees and greenery, or even aquariums! Something to that effect, with me sitting in front of the desk facing the camera.
This has already got me thinking about what I'd like to do for my self-portrait when I turn 50, or maybe at the beginning of each decade. Create a composition that incorporates all previous self-portraits, maybe as a type of gallery!

Perfunctory : Performs actions in a mechanical, uninspired manner. Self-Doubt : Consistently questions personal abilities and decisions. Arbitraryness : Makes decisions based on whim rather than reason or evidence. Rigidity : Is inflexible and unwilling to consider alternative viewpoints. Gullibility : Trusts too easily, often leading to being misled or deceived. Obsession : Becomes excessively fixated on particular ideas or details. Aloofness : Maintains emotional distance, appearing detached or indifferent. Intolerance : Refuses to accept differing perspectives or lifestyles.
Writing Advice for Brainstorming
Mix genres and time periods: Experiment by combining elements from different eras or genres to create unique settings and narratives.
Use "what if" scenarios: Pose unexpected questions (e.g., What if time travel operated on emotions rather than mechanics?) to spark novel ideas.
Draw from diverse mediums: Engage with art, music, or even scientific papers to inspire unexpected plot twists.
Embrace absurdity: Let illogical or surreal ideas guide you; sometimes the wildest thoughts lead to compelling stories.
Reverse clichés: Identify common tropes in your favorite genres and deliberately invert them to create fresh perspectives.
Incorporate personal anomalies: Transform your idiosyncrasies and personal struggles into rich, multi-dimensional characters.
Use mind-mapping: Visually plot your ideas in a freeform way to uncover hidden connections between disparate elements.

Hog Plum Committee
Tumblr media
Here's a loose outline of my project based on Tagore's story নষ্টনীড় Broken Nest (1901): final_final :P
There's of course a celebrated adaptation by Ray which centers around Charu's loneliness but I am more drawn to Charu and Amal's informal garden planning committee called আমড়াতলার কমিটি (Hog Plum Committee)
I like the way the scene reveals two very different people unlike the kinship she finds in Amal as shown in the film.
Thinking of making a portal fantasy of sorts and placing them outside in the commons- perhaps a shared garden. I have some experience of this, having been involved with the Nomadic Garden folks in my old neighbourhood in Brick Lane that turned a private unused parking space into a into a shared one
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Or another gem in East London- the Bethnal Green Nature Reserve that was once a church bombed during the war and is now an urban forest.
Tumblr media
At the center of it I want to explore what makes a garden- I remember chatting with the local gardener Gabby Boraston who told me about the history of the plants dismissed as “weeds” that she fosters.
Tumblr media
This incidentally took me to an interesting beef between Nathaniel Wallich and William Griffith who were both in charge of the Calcutta Botanic Garden and also had wildly different ideas about what a garden is, who it benefits, etc

Incredibly ambitious idea:
Making a patch of the Elegant Roses logo.
The dimensions of the logo I'm embroidering now is currently 4 1/2" x 2 1/8" which might work for a potential patch.
I would still need to do a lot more research on how to make a handmade patch that does not require an embroidery machine because those things can range as low as $500 to higher than $1000. Embroidery machines are an investment. But I've seen video tutorials of handmade patches, so it should be possible.
