This is old as hell by this point, but since I don't think I ever posted it I'll share it now. This is "Seraph", a short comic I made last year for @readerbewaremag's 2024 edition! They're an online zine focused on pulp horror made by indie writers and artists, and I was honestly so honored that I got to have my work featured in one of their zines! Their final zine is open for submissions, check out their blog to find the application form!

Hello!

I’ve been seeing on people’s pages they like to post a small about me section, so I thought I’d do that, too.

• You can call me Dusty, for that is my username, clearly.

• My pronouns are He/Him 🏳️‍⚧️ and while I’m not sure what my sexuality is, I’m pretty sure the one I closely identify with the best is lithromantic/Quoiromantic and asexual (idk man stiff figuring stuff out lol), so this little segment might change from time to time

• Just found out recently I have ADHD, so that’s cool (no it’s not lol but it makes a lot of sense)

• I am NOT an adult, so keep that in mind when interacting with me n’ stuff. (Minor? I hardly know her! Agagagagagaa) (bday is Jan 28th!!!)

What will I post?

• I make art, all the art I post is mine (tagged as Clearlydusty) and my signature is always hidden somewhere in the drawings, and I reblog others art, especially mutuals/smaller artists! Occasionally I’ll repost funny stuff but it’s mostly art

• My interests in drawing fixations fluctuate from time to time, so there will be times I have a “drawing fixation” but then I never end up drawing it cuz it lasts for like a few days or so and then I end up liking a different thing and wanting to draw that, so I’m sorry if you see I have a show/game I feel like drawing and I never end up doing it :(( I’m on ADHD medication that will help me focus much better, so hopefully that’ll fix my problem maybe?

• I usually post fully done art, but from time to time I might post small sketches of like my Ocs or of characters I like.

Water from a Rock

1 The entire Israelite community set out on their journey from the Wilderness of Sin as the Lord had commanded. They camped at Rephidim, but there was no water for the people to drink. 2 So the people quarreled with Moses and said, “Give us water to drink.”

Moses said to them, “Why are you quarreling with me? Why are you testing the Lord?”

3 But the people were thirsty for water there, so they grumbled against Moses. They said, “Why did you ever bring us up out of Egypt to let us, our children, and our livestock die of thirst?”

4 Moses cried out to the Lord, “What shall I do with these people? They are almost ready to stone me!”

5 The Lord said to Moses, “Go in front of the people, and take the elders of Israel with you. Also take in your hand the staff with which you struck the Nile, and go. 6 Watch me. I will stand there in front of you on the rock in Horeb. You are to strike the rock. Water will come out of it, and the people will drink.” Moses did that in the sight of the elders of Israel. 7 He named the place Massah and Meribah, because the Israelites quarreled, and because they tested the Lord by saying, “Is the Lord among us or not?”

8 Then the Amalekites came and fought against the Israelites at Rephidim. 9 Moses said to Joshua, “Select some men for us, and go out and fight against the Amalekites. Tomorrow I will stand on the hilltop, and God’s staff will be in my hand.” 10 So Joshua did just as Moses told him.

While Joshua was fighting against the Amalekites, Moses, Aaron, and Hur went up to the hilltop. 11 Whenever Moses held up his hand, the Israelites would start winning, but whenever he lowered his hand, the Amalekites would start winning. 12 When Moses’ arms became tired, they took a stone and placed it under him, and he sat on it. Last time, we dove headfirst into the chaos—specifically, the relationship between Genesis 1:1 and Genesis 1:2. There’s a fork in the road here, and depending on how one interprets these verses, entire theological traditions and interpretive camps have been built.

I’ve personally staked out a path that I find the most compelling. Of course, you don’t have to agree, but whatever view you choose, I believe it’s crucial to truly think through the weight of the ideas involved.

For me, the most compelling case is that the “wild and waste” (tohu va-vohu), the darkness, and the deep abyss are not random or vague. They're deeply rooted images from the ancient Near East and Israelite thought, symbolizing nothingness. I tend to use the word pre-creation as a more neutral term. Even the word nothing carries modern baggage we might unintentionally project onto the text. What Genesis is showing us isn't nothing in the way we think of it—it’s the formless, unordered state before creation. And that’s a key distinction.

In the cultures surrounding ancient Israel—like Egypt and Babylon—this “pre-creation” state was often described with images of darkness, chaotic waters, and lack of order. These were the common metaphors for what existed before the world was set in motion.

We ended last time by focusing on the three phrases in Genesis 1:2:

Tohu va-vohu Darkness The deep waters

Each of the first three days of creation addresses one of these in turn:

Day One contains the darkness. Day Two separates and orders the waters. Day Three sees dry land emerge, bringing food and life.

Now, I bring all of that up again because it helps us keep an eye out for when later biblical authors reuse this same imagery. Recognizing those connections helps us understand how these authors viewed creation and existence.

I'm citing from Jeremiah 4. This chapter acts almost like a retrospective commentary, casting the imagery of Genesis 1 in a haunting, inverted way.

Beginning at Jeremiah 4:5, we enter a time of looming disaster. Jeremiah lived during the years leading up to and through the siege and destruction of Jerusalem by Babylon. He warned people it was coming—but most ignored him. This passage comes from one of his earliest warnings:

“Declare in Judah, and show forth in Jerusalem, and say, Blow the trumpet in the land: cry, and gather together, and say, Assemble yourselves, and let us go into the strong cities…” (Jeremiah 4:5–9)

This is a call to run to the walled cities for protection. The invader from the north is coming. Historically, enemies entering Israel (from modern-day Turkey or Syria) funneled in from the north because of natural barriers like the desert and mountains.

“The lion is come up from his den, and the destroyer of the Gentiles is departed… to lay thy land waste…”

Jeremiah is beginning to describe the unraveling of everything they know. This is more than just political conquest—he’s evoking cosmic language, deeply poetic, and terrifying.

🏚 The Collapse of Cosmos

Skipping down to verses 16 and 20:

“Destruction upon destruction is cried, for the whole land is wasted: suddenly are my tents destroyed, and my curtains in a moment.”

Here’s where we should pause. Most of us have never lived in a walled city under siege. But think of all the people today who’ve fled their homes due to war, occupation, or invasion. Picture that pain...abandoning your childhood home, watching cities collapse into rubble.

Now, look at verse 23:

“I beheld the earth, and lo, it was without form and void (tohu va-vohu); and the heavens, and they had no light.”

This should catch your eye immediately.

Jeremiah is activating the imagery of Genesis 1—but in reverse.

He goes on:

“I beheld, and lo, there was no man, and all the birds of the heavens were fled. I beheld, and lo, the fruitful place was a wilderness, and all the cities thereof were broken down at the presence of the Lord, and by his fierce anger.” (Jeremiah 4:23–26)

God is letting Israel face the consequences of breaking the covenant, handing them over to the chaos they’ve welcomed in.

“The whole land shall be desolate: yet will I not make a full end.” (Jeremiah 4:27)

There’s a flicker of hope, a remnant will survive. But the rest? A complete undoing of what was once flourishing.

So how does this tie into Genesis?

Jeremiah is using the language of Day One of creation—but flipping it. The fruitful land that was once vibrant and full of life becomes “without form and void.” There is no light, no people, no birds, just rubble and ruin.

It’s not a cosmic collapse, it’s the collapse of their world, their cosmos, their ordered way of life. Their creation–the city, the families, the covenant culture–is being de-created.

Remember from our last session: what does it mean to “exist” in the biblical worldview?

It’s when life is ordered in a way that reflects the image of God and allows humans to flourish. So to undo that order—to let it fall apart—is to return to the chaos of Genesis 1:2.

The trembling hills aren’t necessarily literal earthquakes. But can you build a home, plant a garden, or raise a family on unstable ground? No. That instability is part of the tohu va-vohu chaos—a life that cannot support flourishing.

In Genesis 1:

Darkness isn’t eliminated—it’s contained. Waters aren’t destroyed—they’re separated, given boundaries. Dry land emerges from the chaos—not instead of it.

And that still applies.

There will be darkness. The waters do remain. But God brings order out of them. Likewise, chaos is always a threat, especially when humans become its agents.

Throughout the Psalms, evil people are often compared to floods, a poetic way of saying that sin, violence, and oppression threaten to undo the world God ordered for life.

So what’s happening in Jeremiah?

Babylon becomes the agent of de-creation. The world is returning to tohu va-vohu, not because God is absent, but because He’s allowing Israel to see the fruit of rejecting His order.

Jeremiah watches as his beloved city, his home, is unmade.

This is why Jeremiah 4 is so rich to me. It reveals how the biblical authors saw creation as more than a one-time event. Creation is something we can build into the world, or undo by our actions.

Order, life, and stability are sacred gifts, and fragile ones.

Next session, we’ll start exploring the six days of creation, seeing how each one builds on the last, not just in terms of structure, but meaning.

Anyway I found a 3 hour cut of The Blair Witch Project and while it was mostly just more fighting here were some fun insights;

- Josh claims to spot some "hooded" figures he thinks are kkk really early on

- Josh's expanded theory some locals followed them into the woods to mess with them, mention of a cult or commune in the 60s

- That Heather did indeed take a stick effigy, to prove to herself that it was all real she claims, its head was snapped during a hike, and it was found completely dismantled after their camp was raided

- Josh crumpled up and threw the map on the ground before Mike unbeknownst to anyone kicked it in the creek

- Finally seeing Heather's hi-8 footage when she reacts to something in the woods with "what the fuck is that?!" I know through trivia that it was one of the directors standing on a hill in a ski mask and white clothes to appear as a general white human shape in the distance, unfortunately none of it was caught on the hi-8 even though she does try to point the camera in that direction

- Three kinds of human hair in the stick bundle with Josh's shirt, teeth, and tongue, possibly hair clippings from all three of them

- Heather and Mike either knowing or deciding the last night was going to be the end of it, Heather because she's convinced they're going to die that night after finding Josh's viscera, Mike because he decided he's done and whatever comes he's going to go after it and fight; the added eeriness of all that fight disappearing as he, a grown man, stands silently obeying facing the wall like a child or someone possessed

- It's in the theatrical and home video cut, but I noticed for the first time that the rest of Josh's shirt is in the house and Heather definitely notices

Also some possible insights I know through general folkloric knowledge;

I'm not sure if the directors were aware of this, but the sound of clicking branches was something the puritans would've attributed to witches flying on their sticks through the trees (there's even a line about it in The VVitch; "Hear me stick flying through the trees- clickety-clackity!"). The actual sounds were just the directors and I think producer running around.

and the only bible verse that refers to piles of rocks is

Genesis 31:48-52 New Living Translation (NLT)

51 “See this pile of stones,” Laban continued, “and see this monument I have set between us. 52 They stand between us as witnesses of our vows. I will never pass this pile of stones to harm you, and you must never pass these stones or this monument to harm me."

So they were fucked the moment they passed the piles of rocks, presumably considered trespassers from that point on. The night after is when the noises start. They might've been left alone if they never left the rockpile "graveyard" (there were also 7 initial rockpiles - and 7 victims of Rustin Parr, followed by the 3 outside their tent; it was also old testamant early israelite practice to place rocks over burial sites), or the circle around their tent. They may have been given 2 separate chances of "mercy."

I’ve taken some time to gather my thoughts, and I’m sure I’m not going to say anything that anyone else hasn’t already said, but I figured I’d share my thoughts nonetheless, because were a community, and that means we care about each other.

I was introduced to Rooster Teeth near the end of middle school, by the same friend who introduced me to Neon Genesis Evangelion, and forever changed the trajectory of my life.

We watch Red Vs Blue season 5 while I was staying the night, and I was absolutely hooked.

I went back and caught up on the rest of the series, and honestly, I think I related to Church way too hard.

Few years passed. I saw they’d put RvB on Netflix, and feeling nostalgic I rewatched it. Out of curiosity, I decided to check out what RT had done after that, only to discover they’d put out SEVEN MORE SEASONS, which I of course immediately binged, like a gluttonous beasty.

It was in the bittersweet aftermath of that binge session that I decided to give RWBY a shot. I’d seen it advertised under RvB playlists, and out of desperation for more of anything like RvB, I decided to give the Red Trailer a shot.

Now this was during the hiatus between Volume 2 and Volume 3, shortly after Monty’s passing, and in those days I was nowhere near as online as I am now, but RWBY is definitely a huge part of why I am online. I tore through the first two Volumes. I started making fanart, I tried to introduce my friends to the show. I desperately googled any information I could find about when Volume 3 would be coming out (this is when I learned about Monty’s passing, and his impact on some of my favorite moments in RvB).

When V3 was announced, I immediately subscribed to RT first. And have been following RWBY ever since. I watched each episode as it came out, I would binge the entire series (some times multiple times) before a new volume came out. I joind RP servers, I created oc’s, I created a LOT of fanart. I have a yearly tradition of drawing a Ruby Rose piece just to check my progress as an artist. Just last year I started writing fanfic. I’ve got a bit of merch. I love RWBY. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve kept up with RvB pretty well, and I watched a bit of Camp Camp and Gen:Lock, but RWBY is my shit.

I know a lot of people are sad, scared, and confused right now. I know I was when I found out yesterday. I didn’t exactly keep up with the nitty-gritty of what was happening with RT as a studio, and a lot of the projects didn’t really strike my fancy, but there were a lot of things I adored from RT. I’m sad to see them closing their doors, and I’m just as desperate for information as the rest of you.

But we’re a community, and that means we care about each other.

I care about you.

I don’t care who you ship with who, I don’t care if you hate my favorite character, or what head canons you have for which characters. I care about you, and I’m glad you’ve been a part of this community for as long as you have been. I’m glad to have known you, even remotely. I’m glad to have seen your fanart, or gotten mad at your hot takes, or laughed at your incorrect quotes. I’m glad we’ve been a community.

This isn’t a declaration of defeat. I don’t know the future of RWBY any better than the rest of you do.

This is an acknowledgment, and an expression of gratitude. CRWBY may have made the series, but you all made this community. As much as it can sometimes be a dumpster fire, you make me proud to be a part of the FNDM.

Breakfast on Pluto:

What was it that inspired you to take on this role?

Cillian Murphy: I had read the book before I was ever an actor. I think actors talk about the role of the lifetime and I would very happily say that applied to this role. Neil Jordan is one of my favorite directors.

Not just because he's Irish and I'm Irish. In the world of directors he's one of those guys. So it was all of those things and also the fear that I couldn't possibly do that. If you come to a character and say 'yeah I can do this' then you're in trouble.

Did you spend a lot of time practicing to get the voice of the character right?

CM: I wanted to approach it very earlier on, like Neil said to me, to treat my self like a lady. My wife was very supportive of that. Then I wanted the character to be feminine as opposed to effeminate. Because it's easy to be camp or queen. Anyone can do that. What's difficult is to play feminine.

What else did you do psychologically to get into the character?

CM: You watch women. I spent time at a transvestites club in London and hung out there. I spent a lot of time on my own just being the character.

Did you have any experiences with men coming up to you and thinking that you're female?

CM: No because its not the crying game. That character is never trying to convince people that she is a she. It's just the way she is. But what you do learn from being with transvestites in London is their acerbic whit is a direct result of people shouting at you on the street. I had that all the time. You have people shouting at you all the time. That's why they're so amazing and so protective.

Is that part of your process to develop characters is to experience what they experience?

CM: If you read the character and you see that it’s just a slight adjustment to who you are, that doesn't represent a challenge to me. It's obvious that if your going to play a character you need to amass information about that person and about their environment or their era that they're in and use as little or as much as necessary. That seems obvious to me. What we do as actors is we go through phases where you superficially learn all this information. At the moment I'm doing this space movie, so I'm obsessed with physics and space travel. I know three months down the line it's gone. Then ill be able to superficially say stuff about space.

When you were doing this character did you stay in character a lot off camera?

CM: I find it quite hard talking about that whole method thing. In retrospective I can see how a character affects me. There was a lot of parting and craziness. My wife can see always how a part affects me personally because she has to live with it. But it’s not a conscious thing I don't walk around doing that some actors do that and that's fine. You're with the character every day. It's work bed work bed. There's not that much extra time. You are the character.

How long was the shoot?

CM: Twelve weeks.

What was the genesis of Neil approaching you to do this?

CM: He saw me in some movie and I went to see him and I was so overwhelmed. He produced this film called Intermission. So I had established a relationship with him. The thing about being old, the character has to be 16. The best roles you have to fight for. You have to really want to do it and you have to go after it.

Do you have an overall game plan to your career choices?

CM: I don't think about those things. If it happens it happens. All these projects that represent the challenges there all have been amazing directors I think. Some have succeeded and some haven't. But no it's not like checking boxes and saying 'if I do this that will allow me to do this.'

How did you do such a great job on making your character in Red Eye be so hated?

CM: Well that's the purpose of him in the movie is to be Fucking hated.

Would you have done Batman if it wasn't someone doing it like Christopher Nolan?

CM: No I wouldn't have done them. I wouldn't have done them if the script wasn't good. If you give e mediocre script to Chris Nolan or Neil Jordan, they're never going to make it a masterpiece unless the script is good.

How did this year compare to the breakthrough of 28 days later?

CM: It’s very hard to have a perception on oneself. When these movies came out I was working so I escaped a lot of it. So you're not involved in it. Batman was Christian Bale's movie. I was only in that movie.

Did you read for Batman?

CM: Come on. Do I look like a Fucking Batman?

In this movie, did you get to hear the 60's music and make it apart of your understanding about the character?

CM: Kitten becomes obsessed with the saccharine, less intellectually challenging music. There was a lot of that music made in the late 60's and early 70's. She identifies with Sugar Baby Love. Which is great because she attaches so much important to these tunes. So we listened to these songs all the time. It's an immersion of that time. You have to do that. The 70's everyone was fucking with sexuality. They were all these androgynous things. The clothes were flattering to men as well as women. There were great clothes.

In the movie, what turned out to be your favorite music?

CM: When Van Morrison comes on it just knocked me. I'm just reading his biography now.

Do you have a favorite concert you went to?

CM: I saw Al Green. He's incredible.

Are you amazed with what women go through to look beautiful?

CM: I have a deepening respect for women. It's a lot of pain. The plucking of the eyebrows is the worst. It gets better. The first time is hard. But I liked looking pretty. I looked like my sister and she’s a very pretty girl.

Kitten's motto is that everything is too serious. Is that what's fascinating about the project is that she doesn't want to be serious yet she's contrast to the most serious things in these decades that she's in?

CM: I think she's very astute and very smart but knows exactly what's going on. She just pretends. It's a defense mechanism to pretend all this stuff isn't happening.

How do you feel about being apart of the small Irish artistic community?

CM: It’s amazing. These guys affected me hugely growing up. They changed my approach to life. Iv worked a couple of times with these guys and they've paved the way and they've all been tremendously supportive to me. Particularly Liam Neeson. He's sort of a surrogate movie dad to me.

How is it working with Danny Boyle on this bigger budget film?

CM: I'm right in the middle of it. I have a weekend off. It's great. He's totally on fire.

Is it good working with him a second time?

CM: Working with these actors again there's ease. That's why I think people collaborate and people return to work with the same people. If you worked and gone on and there s a level of success why not work again together.

Is there a director you'd like to work with?

CM: Oh there's too many but I couldn't. There's no point.

Is there an ideal role you'd love to play?

CM: I don't think they'd ever make a movie about Chuck Baker but I'd love to play Chuck Baker. If there was an interesting story. I'd love to work with Robert Altman. There's so many.

You started working right after you got married, did you have time to go on a honeymoon?

CM: No. I made Breakfast on Pluto and then Red Eye.

How was your wife with that?

CM: She's fine she knows me from before I was an actor.

After setting up camp in Banora, Genesis takes a moment to stew in the troubles that have beset his life as of late. Angeal is there to catch him when he breaks, even if he needs to break too.

Genesis refilled his wine glass, clenching his teeth tightly enough to give himself a headache. He nearly bit his own tongue off when the doors creaked open—but it was only Angeal, returning from…wherever he’d gone, after Genesis had watched the last of the light fade from his parents’ eyes. The wine tasted sour in his mouth as he eyed the white-feathered wing poised behind his friend’s back.

Day 3: 

Previously in PRSC... 

The boys in Genesis, Rush and King Crimson continue to progress and gain a tiny bit more comfort in their… difficult conditions.  

Tensions within the Yes and ELP camps reach an all-time high. Steve Howe does a runner and reaches ‘The Court of The Crimson King’ by midnight. (Keyboard wizard) Rick Wakeman and (Fish) Chris Squire plan their well-needed escapes... 

Death count: 0 

In The Court of The Crimson King...  Steve reached the camp late last night and has since been welcomed by all members of it (except Broof, who tries to ignore him following his awkward exit from Yes). He is put to work with John and David in doing various dull, laborious tasks overseen by Fripps right-hand-percussion-men, Bill and Jamie Muir who are ‘keeping them in check’. Although Steve feels tired, he also finds the structure, safety and sense of community that he felt was lacking with Yes. We cannot say the same for John and David.

Meanwhile in ‘Epping Forest’...

This is the supper of the mighty one! Genesis eat well tonight as (during a particularly long prance around the woods) Peter found nice, ripe fruit on the forest floor (little does the band know that Jon dropped it earlier that day, made clumsy by his consumption of the mushrooms). Tony is spending hours a day perfecting each detail of the entrancing face of his Etch-a-Sketch recreation of the Mona Lisa.  Phil, Steve and Mike have managed to make primitive fishing rods out of the spare guitar strings that Steve forgot he brought (also forgetting to bring his guitar). Good one guys!

Rushing over to another camp…

Their fishing may be less effective (standing in the river and lashing out at any passing fish. In the event that one is caught, the band all stress out as to how to kill the thing) but, the three companionable Canadians of Rush continue their hygienic progress. The band have exhausted their camping supply of bottled drinking water and sadly, in the wilderness the band cannot dine on honeydew or drink the milk of paradise. Luckily Neil remembered a 7th grade science lesson he had where he was taught that boiling water kills all dangerous microorganisms and disinfects it. He removes the camping stove and small pot from his bag, fills the pot with water from the cleanest part of the river he could find and begins to boil…

Close to the Edge, Down By the River…

Near the ‘pretty view’ of the river Jon selected, Yes are crumbling to some extent. Steve asked Jon if he could go over to The Court yesterday and Jon reluctantly agreed and let him go. Steve didn’t mean it personally but I think Jon took it that way (poor guy). Meanwhile, Rick is getting fed up with waiting around for Jon and Alan to get vegetarian food when he could eat as much meat as he likes (though in reality, he is far too lazy to do so). Chris isn’t a fan of Jon’s leadership style. Its a sort of strange hotchpotch between Hippy and autocratic that he doesn’t like. All the while, it doesn’t help that Jon has found some magic mushrooms and spends quite a lot of his time in ‘dreamland’. He and Rick have planned to leave the camp to find ELP next time Jon and Chris go out gathering together.

In the ELP camp... 

The last few hours have been somewhat monotonous at the ELP camp. The band’s relationship is fractured (particularly Keith and Greg’s). Morale is dipping sub-zero, and Carl still hasn’t figured out the drum part for Karn-Evil 9 so instead of making useful progress to prolong their lives, the half-starved threesome chose to discuss new project ideas for ‘when all this forest crap is out of the way’. One could call this a useful conversation to keep up hope and distract them. They could also call it valuable time and energy wasted that will eventually lead to their doom. Either way, in their hungry, delirious state discussion is getting heated quickly. Carl leaves early to actually try and help them survive, and is also hurt by the two of them calling him a ‘shit Buddy Rich knockoff’. 

The issue on the table currently is Greg’s suggestion, ‘Love Beach 2 (Electric Boogaloo)’. This thought seems to be sending Keith into something of a violent frenzy. 

I will spare the details of the real-time commentary for the next few minutes. This passage is written in retrospect: Keith and Greg got into a physical confrontation which included a lot of punches from Keith and in the process, Greg hit his head on a large protruding rock in the wood’s undergrowth and by the time Carl returned from his mission of trying to keep them alive, and managed to pry Keith away from his friend, it was too late. 

The two of them aren’t talking as they submerge the body into the dark, cold river water. What he has done is beginning to dawn on Keith and he has been battling with his tears since they left to the water. All Carl can think about is that his friend and bandmate is a ‘fucking murderer’. He must negotiate a way away from this knife-wielding maniac. Luckily, upon return to the camp, he recognises two new, trustworthy silhouettes, CHRIS AND RICK!!! He is currently having a private discussion with the two of them featuring sentences like, ‘Guys please get me out of here. He’s a crazy madman with a knife. I’m gonna die’. Chris sensibly responds in a hushed voice, ‘We could always give those Canadian kids a go?’. And that is the plan for the three of them...

The Prog Rock Survival Competition!

I felt so much more like myself today. And for most of the day I felt great. I would feel bad every time I ate. But when I wasn't eating it just post eating I felt great.

I slept a lot better. I think that helped. Waking up was not as horrible. I didn't even snooze my alarm!

I would get up and get dressed. I felt alright in my outfit. I knew I was going to be in the mud today but I wanted to feel pretty. Did my makeup and everything.

Everyone else apparently thought I looked great though because I got so many compliments today. James kept telling me how lucky they were to have a pretty wife. It made me feel nice.

I had a really easy drive to work. (I wish I had gotten a picture but there was a baby grand piano on the side of the highway???) And when I got to camp it was just really pretty. I would stop at the eyrie to get my supplies. And then drove to the art building. Where I set up my water color painting project and cleaned out all the trash I had in the doors. I wish we had a little more storage inside of the car and so I bought a net for the ceiling of the car so when that gets here I am hoping it helps me feel more organized.

I would walk down to the office. And was alone for a while. I had my egg sandwich and regretted it. I felt very out of sorts after eating it. But my mood was still really good. Elizabeth and Nick came in. There was discussion about the day. And he went to go set up the tower.

I would head to the lodge with Elizabeth and Sarah so we could set up tables and chairs and we were very efficient and got everything ready.

The group was a little late. We would have to alter the schedule just a bit. But this group was literally a dream. They were so lovely. I am so cool to second graders and they gassed me up hardcore.

At first I think they were unsure of me. But I took my little group to the pond and we went through everything. I was slightly put off by the one chaperone not wanting them to explore without an adult next to them and being very concerned about them getting muddy. I just had to go. This is the nature of the program. They will get dirty. It is okay. I'm sure the parents will complain but also why did you send your child to any field trip in New shoes. That's crazy to me but I don't know their lives. I just want them to have fun and not be afraid of nature.

But once we got into it we had so much fun. The first group found 14 things!! They did so good! And we had a couple extra minutes because Nick's group at the tower needed the time. So I pulled out some of the larva and had them identify it by picture. It was fun.

One little girl, Ashley, got a sticker bush stuck in her hair and in getting it out she got a finger prick. And she was hysterical. Just scream crying. I carefully took her hands (avoiding the cut) and was just very very calm. Her teacher got a first aid kit and while she got that ready I sat Ashley down and had her breathe with me and she calmed down and was just quietly crying. And I validated her upsetness, "that was really scary right? You are being very brave." I told her that I also got a cut last week and I'm only stronger for it. And by the time she has a bandaid she was all good and would be a joy for the rest of the day and also my best friend. Her and her friend Genesis were my shadows and we would look under many many logs. We even found a morel mushroom!! My very first one!

They were not my only shadows. In the second group Nevaeh was all red faced crying. I'm not sure why. But I got her to come look with me and I think she thought it was really cool when I was able to grab two different slippery frogs. This group was very good at finding the frogs. We even dug one up from under the grass. Literally pulled the "sheet" of grass up to grab him. It was so fun.

Lunch was quick. But the second group has helped me bring all my materials back to the eyrie so I was able to enjoy my little half hour. I was very disappointed to find my watermelon didn't taste right. But I enjoyed my little pizza and things were good.

The afternoon was art! I would collect my group and we went up to arts and crafts. Lots of hand holding and hugs. Such a sweet group. And I had them draw in sharpie at least one plant and one creature they really liked seeing today, OR one that they WISHED they had seen. So we had some snake and bear drawings. But also a lot of tadpoles. And then they would watercolor paint. And it went so good. I was very very happy with this project.

The second group would be super sweet as well. Nevaeh would paint a picture of me!! And she gifted it to me so I promised to hang that in the art building. I also had a really lovely conversation with two parents and shared some of our Africa pictures. It was just a really lovely time.

One of the little boys also kept telling me how beautiful I was. My makeup: beautiful. My hair: beautiful. My personality: so cool. These kids were echoing everything he was saying and I was just like. Guysss stoooppp. But it made me feel really nice.

At the end of the program we cleaned up and I packed up their art in bags to give to their teacher. And we walked back to the lodge. Where the little girls wanted to wear my hair clip and look at pictures on my phone. We're disappointed I was not wearing my engagement ring but also it would get so dirty! My wedding rings go through enough as it is. I did show them some of our wedding pictures though and that was fun.

Nevaeh and Ashley and Genesis and a few other girls helped fold chairs as they were leaving. It was so sweet. I loved this group. Absolutely would have again. I hope my future child is as sweet as them.

Nick and me would finish folding the chairs. And I would go clean the bathrooms. And once that was done I went to the art building to put things away. And then to the office. Where I very badly answered some emails (with incorrect information because I wasn't thinking about alcohol when someone asked if they could bring outside drinks to the music festival. I assumed water bottles??). And I offered to go pick up our total wine order.

This ended up taking more then an hour which I did not expect. Traffic was bad. And then when I got there they couldn't find our order. But the man was nice and looked really hard and would find both orders and everything would be fine. I enjoyed just sitting in the car for a bit. I wasn't in a rush.

When I got home James helped me out and brought everything inside. I was worried about them getting taken from our car? Can't risk it.

James made me a salad for dinner and it was great. I would change into my comfy clothes and painted my toes and ate my salad and eventually I went downstairs to play the new video game James got me.

Little kitty big city! It's very fun so far but video with walking games still make me nauseous. But I would play for a couple hours. James would join me and made pizza and I shouldn't have eaten it because I have felt bad since. Maybe it's a bread issue? I will try to have less bread tomorrow.

I just got a shower and James is dozing on bed while I'm sitting on the floor. I am tired. But I am feeling good. My stomach didn't hurt at all today (I mean it did but not in the way it has been. No crazy scary cramping). And I am feeling really good emotionally. I hope to keep these good vibes going.

hello i am a slut for chronology projects and timelines, this is nothing compared to the comprehensive greek myth family tree project i’ve been neglecting building 

timeline key / HUGE shoutout to the editors of the ff7 fandom wiki and their timeline(s), massively helpful -- backbone of this chronology version is a cross-reference between dated events in before crisis and crisis core: reunion

dates / ff7 compilation records 12-month calendar years in the format [era] - εγλ [year number] with calendar time measured in two-millennia eras; the years of which count upwards and end at 2000, at which point the following year begins the next era at 0001 -- for example, Zack is born [ μ ] - εγλ 1984, and Angeal dies [ ν ] - εγλ 0001

eras [ μ ] and [ ν ] = loosely, [ μ ] is the 2,000-year era preceding the Wutai War -- Jenova crash lands on Gaia at the start of this era and Zack, Aerith, and Cloud are all born at the end of this era; [ ν ] is the era in which most of playable ff7 compilation takes place, beginning shortly after the Wutai War

εγλ = for whatever reason part of the dating system, preceding the era year when writing the date; some fan theories interpret it as an abbreviation meaning “that which tells of this era of Gaia,” similar to the Christian “in the year of our Lord,” by analyzing the Greek letters that are used and suggesting that: ε could stand for εποχή (epoch, age, era), γ for Γαῖα (Gaia), λ for λέγω (verb, to tell a story)
