I love watching 90s Star Trek. Of course I love the shows, but one of the things I love most is that there are seven seasons! I love that there are 25 episodes each season. I love that there is time for shenanigans and that the stakes don’t have to be sky high every episode. It’s really fun to watch characters goof around! Some of my favorite episodes of old shows like this are “filler” episodes.
I wish TV was still this way. It makes so sad that so many shows only have 8 episodes per season. I hate it that it’s rare for a show to make it past two seasons, even with a dedicated fan base. I’m really sad about Our Flag Means Death (and Shadow and Bone, and Star Trek: Prodigy—please watch it on Netflix so they will make more—, and Agent Carter even after all these years, the list goes on.) but I’m even more sad about how this represents a death for TV in so many ways. I’m sad that my favorite shows won’t last for years. I’m sad.

you know what hill i'll die on? terzo is not the sluttiest emeritus
I mean sure, he's the most dramatic and the most outspoken about sex, and he gave us Mummy Dust which is its own discussion-- but I sincerely don't see him, in his private life, being so promiscuous. Like out of all of them, I'm the most certain Terzo would be either monogamous or have a few regular partners at most, but I don't think he'd be big on casual flings. Frankly I don't even see him having sex that much at this point, he seems more attached to it as a concept than an actual activity he regularly engages in.
You know who's the inverse of that, though? The one Tobias himself calls a pervert? Secondo. There's your whore. I know he looks big and mean and authoritary but let's be honest, half of Infestissumam is about ritual sex and he's out in Vegas on the regular with more women than he can reliably satisfy. He says it himself that he became Papa because "he likes a sexy beat". THERE'S THE EMERITUS WHORE, AND I'M CERTAIN OF IT

Snape being gaslit
“He must have Disapparated, Severus. We should have left
somebody in the room with him. When this gets out —”
“HE DIDN’T DISAPPARATE!” Snape roared, now very close
at hand. “YOU CAN’T APPARATE OR DISAPPARATE IN-
SIDE THIS CASTLE! THIS — HAS — SOMETHING — TO —
DO — WITH — POTTER!”
“Severus — be reasonable — Harry has been locked up —”
BAM.
The door of the hospital wing burst open.
Fudge, Snape, and Dumbledore came striding into the ward.
Dumbledore alone looked calm. Indeed, he looked as though he
was quite enjoying himself. Fudge appeared angry. But Snape was beside himself.
“OUT WITH IT, POTTER!” he bellowed. “WHAT DID YOU DO?”
“Professor Snape!” shrieked Madam Pomfrey. “Control yourself!”
“See here, Snape, be reasonable,” said Fudge. “This door’s been
locked, we just saw —”
“THEY HELPED HIM ESCAPE, I KNOW IT!” Snape howled, pointing at Harry and Hermione. His face was twisted; spit was flying from his mouth.
“Calm down, man!” Fudge barked. “You’re talking nonsense!”
“YOU DON’T KNOW POTTER!” shrieked Snape. “HE DID IT, I KNOW HE DID IT —”
“That will do, Severus,” said Dumbledore quietly. “Think about
what you are saying. This door has been locked since I left the ward ten minutes ago. Madam Pomfrey, have these students left their beds?”
“Of course not!” said Madam Pomfrey, bristling. “I would have
heard them!”
“Well, there you have it, Severus,” said Dumbledore calmly. “Unless you are suggesting that Harry and Hermione are able to be in two places at once, I’m afraid I don’t see any point in troubling them further.”
Snape stood there, seething, staring from Fudge, who looked
thoroughly shocked at his behavior, to Dumbledore, whose eyes
were twinkling behind his glasses. Snape whirled about, robes
swishing behind him, and stormed out of the ward.
“Fellow seems quite unbalanced,” said Fudge, staring after him.
“I’d watch out for him if I were you, Dumbledore.”
“Oh, he’s not unbalanced,” said Dumbledore quietly. “He’s just
suffered a severe disappointment.”
Poor Snape. Book 3 was really bad for him. Dealing with Remus' passive aggression. Having to brew wolfsbane potion for the guy who nearly killed him years ago and said guy not seeming to care too much about said detail. Dealing with Sirius again and having him escape. Then having Dumbles gaslight him - sometimes I just have to shake my head at his old man. What a shady character. Can't believe people call these men friends. Dumbles is not Snape's friend. A friend doesn't get amusement from their friend's uncontrollable rage. Not to mention I don't know how Snape can truly be friends with the man who was his headmaster in school - the age difference is too great for a close friendship IMO. Plus Dumbles contributed to making Snape's school life hell. I literally don't understand how Snape could be friends with him OR Minerva.
If I were a better writer, I would write a fic where Snape tells both Voldy and Dumbles to screw themselves, throws Lily's memory in the trash where it belongs, moves far away from Hogwarts, opens up a successful apothecary and marries and has a small family with a lovely woman who adores him. I just want this poor man to have all the good things in the world and leave Harry's dim witted butt to someone else. There are fics where this happens...but they tend to make Snape gay for some reason :'(. Why is it so hard to have Snape marry a woman??
PS: I kind of like seeing Snape and Draco lose their absolute marbles over Harry. I feel bad for them but it is still amusing to see :')

desperately need people to understand that alicent is a victim but she’s also an abuser and a perpetrator
that she actively makes choices to harm other women because of jealousy and envy and the greed deep in her bones because submitting to suffering didn’t get her what those women fight to grasp for themselves.
she is absolutely a victim, in show.
that doesn’t change that she abused rhaenyra and her children, her own son, most likely helaena given how she flinches every time her mother touches her, and is actively weaponizing the patriarchy of westeros against other women- rhaenyra primarily, but also mysaria and dyana.
she isn’t the moral, righteous force of good that even she thinks she is, she’s a wounded woman directing all of the rot, pain, and fury inside her at the wrong people and forces.

Why the FUCK are Southerners under the impression they're even welcomed on the internet ANYMORE????? Sorry but this is genuinely fucking rancid I feel fucking unsafe knowing that my spaces are being invaded by you fucking people. Fucking disgusting that it's 2024 and we can't hold piece of shit racists and Confederate nazis accountable for literal fucking war crimes and slavery anymore.
hey man. whats going on. this is such a weird thing to say to someone else on the internet life would be so beautiful if you stepped outside and talked to a real person for once. btw did you know the south is mostly full of poor people and black people and acting as if being from a place makes a person inherently a bigot is very weird almost as if it's pushing a classist narrative. Thats so wacky lol

I know southerners like to joke about 'bless your heart' and passive-aggressive southern politeness or the rigid expectations of southern hospitality, but one of these days we're really gonna have to discuss how the expectation of politeness, 'hospitality', and southern manners are used to uphold harmful hierarchies, especially pertaining to the gender and sexual binary. in the south, politeness is used as a weapon against trans and gender nonconforming people, and it's time to seriously talk about this instead of joking about how hard it is to say mx/mxter with a southern drawl

What is it with straight people being obsessed with the “in love with my straight best friend” trope? I mean, I’m sure it’s happened to a few gay people - but why is it so discussed in mainstream media? Why do straight people consider it the pinnacle of queer experiences?
When I was in middle/high school, every single gay friend I had along with myself had the world’s most homoerotic relationship with a “straight” friend. Where’s THAT in mainstream media?

Honestly I really think people haven't unlearned toxic femininity and often just use feminism to justify it. You're being the same cliquey, judgemental, rude girl you were at 13. But now instead of "ew I don't want to sit with Brenda because she's like a gross boy, she doesnt even wear lipgloss" you say "I don't want to sit with Brandon because all queer spaces should prioritize femme solidarity and that's something a man can never understand so Brandon has to be kicked out now because he started T"
And the same ideas are behind it.
You prioritize people for being culturally or subculturally acceptable, not for being nice people. You exclude people not because they're rude, or bigoted, or anything, but because YOU feel like they shouldn't fit in here.
