Is it normal for other aces to have "sexual thoughts " like I wonderr how it would be like to do x or y with someone but have no actual desire to actually do so. And also, do other aces have freaky thoughts/more libido when their period is approaching? - A confused ace that feels worthless everytime this shit happens.
hi mod amaranth back at it
yeah that's totally normal. the period thing has a biological basis (something something hormones). asexuals can have and enjoy sex. asexuals can hate sex and never do it. asexuals can do whatever the fuck they want tbh as long as consent is involved.

Hi!! so i'm pretty sure this is intersex but not 100%. i have symptoms SUPER similar to AEXS (aromatase excess syndrome) but i have XX chromosomes. there's a bunch of extra fibrous tissue in my vagina and it makes penetrative sex incredibly painful if not impossible (also worried about that and how it could affect cancer screenings bc uterine cancer is in the family.) i've heard that extra estrogen can cause that. I do get periods but they're ridiculously painful and my hormones go completely whack so i'm on medication to stop them (which i'm happy for lmao.) it's just that i'm not more masculine than other women i'm actually more feminine (as in, short no body hair. thankfully i have really small breasts which is weird because it's not consistent with anything else) i could go on more about the symptoms of my hormone disorder(?) but those are the most clearly intersex ones
Hi! So, for starters, people with XX can have AEXS!
Secondly, penetrative sex! Havinv painful penetrative sex is a common experience for many intersex people, and if you have reason to believe its because of a specific intersex thing (as well as other reasons that co-align with that), as you seem to have here, I would say there's a high chance you could be right!
Irregular periods is also common for people with AEXS who bleed, as well as it being painful. Having your hormones out of whack can do this for a lot of intersex people.
Additionally, if your sex hormones are out of order enough to cause you to have medication I think that's a pretty good answer enough to tell you you're having an intersex experience.
Everyone's intersex traits appear differently, not every intersex person will be like 'girl but super hairy and also a giant clit', yk? Everything's different for everyone!
-
But, yes, I will say that this is enough experiences you have to call yourself intersex. Really only you can decide what to call yourself, but if you want an outside experience, this sounds intersex as anytning else.
I am sorry I left this in the ask box for so long, I wanted to research it for a bit! But yea! Everyone's experiences are different, and this feels pretty intersex for me. I don't think your unfounded in thinking you're intersex based on this. Much love anon!

i dont consider myself a 'fashion guru' by any means but one thing i will say is guys you dont need to know the specific brand an item you like is - you need to know what the item is called. very rarely does a brand matter, but knowing that pair of pants is called 'cargo' vs 'boot cut' or the names of dress styles is going to help you find clothes you like WAAAYYYY faster than brand shopping

i had a thought of "do people not know what AUs are anymore?" and then i remembered nobody explains fandom stuff to new people anymore so it is entirely plausible people genuinely don't know what AUs are and nobody has explained it to them, so for today's lucky 10,000:
"AU" stands for "Alternate Universe" or "Alternative Universe" (same difference) and is basically any thought scenario for a fandom that isn't canon and can't fit within the canon universe. If it takes place in the canon universe but something is notably different, that is typically what's known as a "Canon divergent AU," because it diverges from canon.
an AU can be absolutely anything. There's a couple of widespread pan-fandom au scenarios that often get thrown around, like coffee shop aus, genderbend aus, hanahaki aus (hanahaki is a whole thing in itself i'd recommend researching on your own), etc. One you might hear sometimes is "crossover AU" which is when you have characters from one fandom interacting with characters from another.
You can have as many aus as you want. They can be whatever you want and you can do whatever you want in them. It's a sandbox for you to play around in and explore how things would be different or how the characters would act in those circumstances or environments. Maybe they have different relationships with each other. Maybe they behave slightly differently. Or you can just say "Okay, [x] is true. How did they get here? How would things have to be different for this to occur?" which can also be fun.
If you are ever confused about why people ship something that seems completely out of the blue or doesn't make sense to you in the canon setting, there's a good chance they like it in an AU setting! Not everything everybody is interacting with is necessarily the canon! Not everybody wants things to exist in canon and just want to explore playing dolls in a different sandbox and that's okay. And their sandbox might look a lot different than yours, and that's also okay. You have the freedom to make your sandbox whatever you please. Do whatever you want forever. Get funky with it. AUs are fun.
Okay that's my schpeal. everybody go have fun and play nice now.

Odysseus: I am different, I am no longer the man you married, it's been 20 long years but if you could just fall in love with me again?
Penelope: if you can do something for me
Odysseus: anything
Penelope: move my wedding bed.
Odysseus: I can't, it's made out of a living tree, to move it I would have to destroy it. How can yo-
Penelope: oh, I thought we were asking each other stupid questions?
Odysseus:
Penelope: 'FaLl iN lOvE wItH mE aGaiN' to do that I would have had to stop loving you.

is there a flag for someone who is not sure about their gender identity AND their sexuality?
howdy! mod amaranth here
so it appears that there isn't an official flag for questioning at all? i'm not actually very well versed in flags, and this info is from a quick cursory google search, so i think i'll leave this one to the community!!

is that piece of media actually bad, or is it just not following the blueprint you projected onto it? is that work actually not good, or are you just demanding something from it that is absolutely antithetical to its themes, genre, tone, and narrative goal? is that story actually poorly written, or do you just dislike that it is not the specific things you wanted from it that it never set out to be, never was, and never is going to become? is it actually bad, or is it actually well-executed and you just dislike the story it chose to be because it isn't catering to your specific desires and expectations?

hi!
im doing some research and trying to find out if im intersex, but i would love an intersex person's opinion!
(if this is too much of a tmi you can ignore it!/gen)
i hit puberty really early, earlier than any of my peers. during puberty, i noticed that my afab genitals were growing? and that it was larger than my partners/the average persons. i also had a deep voice for a "girl" (im transmasc now), had *some* light facial hair, extremely thick and dark hair on my arms, irregular and SUPER heavy periods (was diagnosed with "dysmenorrhea" by my primary doctor, but nothing else), severe acne all over, etc
problem now? i don't think i could ever be diagnosed with anything since ive been on t for years now, and my genitals and hormones have changed
i know some of these traits are considered intersex traits, but, i just feel so confused. according to the prader scale, i would be like a stage 1 if anything, but is that enough to qualify as intersex? i just don't feel intersex "enough" i guess? im so sorry if any of this is intersexist im still learning
any thoughts are greatly appreciated!
I've met few intersex people who think you need super specific diagnoses and experiences to be 'actually intersex' and the premise is very medicalizing in my opinion, which rubs me weird. Feels like the same group who think you need a DSD diagnosis and to call yourself a DSD female/male, yk?
Anyways, I would agree with you. These symptoms are really common and huge signifiers for a lot of people to find out they're intersex! I think you are justified in calling yourself intersex on the basis of these experiences, but ultimately only you know your own body and life. Have a good day anon!
