Infinity Wars in which Strange wasn’t one of the snapped people
Numbness spread through him, overtaking the agony ripping him apart.Ā
Footsteps pulled his attention. ā€œTony.ā€ Strange’s voice seemed to reach him through a haze. ā€œTony.ā€
Tony looked up. Rage overtook him. ā€œYou promised,ā€ he hissed viciously. ā€œYou swore, swore, you’d let me die first.ā€ He pushed himself to his feet, stumbling slightly as pain screamed from his side.
Strange caught him. Tony wanted to push away, but Thanos had done damage, his nanite-stitches could hide the damage, not fix it. Not even his anger could keep him standing, right now.
ā€œI know.ā€ Grief lined Strange’s voice. ā€œYou’re not going to believe me, but we just got lucky.ā€ A hoarse laugh escaped him, and Tony heard pain there. ā€œWe’ll fix this, Tony.ā€
Tony stared at him, disbelieving. ā€œHow?ā€ he asked. How could they possibly fix this?
Strange met his gaze. ā€œWhen Thanos snapped, the only people in the entire universe who were certain to survive were you, Nebula, and Thor, lives bought and paid for by a stone. Depending on who else survivedā€¦ā€ He shook his head. ā€œThanos’ ā€˜impartiality’ meant it had to be random. I hadn’t dared hope I’d survive. Most of the time, I didn’t.ā€
Tony stared at Strange, trying to conceptualize the words. ā€œYou expected to die?ā€ The quiet resignation he’d seen in Strange’s eyes after giving the stone away made sense in a whole new way.
Something flickered across Strange’s expression. ā€œI’ve had worse deaths.ā€ Regret and grief filled his eyes. ā€œI’m sorry about Peter, Tony. Iā€¦ā€ He took a deep breath. ā€œI had hopedā€¦ā€ His voice broke off. ā€œI’m so sorry,ā€ he whispered. ā€œFor all of this.ā€
ā€œCan we really fix this?ā€ He needed to know.
Fire lit Strange’s eyes. ā€œYes. We can.ā€
Tony took a deep breath, then chose to believe. ā€œThen let’s do it.ā€

im reading the scrip for BTVS 6X15 and Sam, Riley’s wife, exists for literally no purpose other then for j*ss wh*don wanting to be a fucking bitch to Buffy. Like look what you can’t have now, look what you gave up blah blah blah. THEY DIDNT BREAK UP BECAUSE OF HER!!! HE FUCKING CHEATED AND BLAMED FOR ALL THIS EXTERNAL SHIT THAT SHE DIDNT ASK FOR AND ALL HIS INTERNAL FUCKING FEELLINGS!!!!
Anyway Sam. Based on the script, cause I haven’t actually watched the episode in awhile, literally comes in to help capture the demon and tell of Riley for not explaining the mission to Buffy which makes Buffy feel bad that she killed the demon cause RILEY DOESNT FUCKING EXPLAIN SHIT AND DOESNT EVEN TELL HER ABOUT HIS WIFE EVEN THOUGH THEY ARE LIKE SUPER CLOSE AND SHE CHANGES NEXT TO HIM IN CAR??? But Sam is the chill girl who doesn’t get insecure or care. Then she literally does nothing the rest of the episode. She gives Xander wedding advice and patrols with Buffy. SHES LITERALLY SOMEONE WE ARE JUST SUPPOSED TO ATTACH TO RILEY. I FORGOT WHAT HER FUCKING NAME WAS KINDA SHIT.
Like I get it. Gave him a wife to further Buffy’s development or healing and break up her and Spike. Whatever. But could you not do more with her character. Make her some actual badass instead of just getting one fight. She wasn’t even there in the end for the actual egg stuff, which was also her mission. But Riley didn’t bring her along. Cause he knew shit was gonna go down with Buffy and that they were still gonna have that weird tension. Anyway, once a cheat always a cheat. Especially when it had barely been a year and they were married. Like he didn’t even grow as a person before he was married. He married like his rebound.
In case you couldn’t tell I hate Riley.

Also, I refuse to entertain the discourse as to whether acespec people are ā€œoppressedā€ or not, but I will say it’s really fucking lonely — especially if you fall somewhere on the spectrum that’s a little more unconventional.
I’ve discussed many times before how I feel absolutely no attraction whatsoever except towards my lovely partner. I went through the phases queer men tend to: exploring many types of pornography and cruising on Grindr. I really tried, and none of it has ever done anything for me. It wasn’t until I started having sex with my partner that I realised, ohhh, so that’s how most people feel. And even then, enjoying sex with him is far more of an intimacy thing than the actual physical sensations. I do not fantasise about other people or consume porn. There is only him.
And yet when I’ve spoken about this in acespec spaces, I’m still treated as some sort of weirdo who doesn’t belong. I’ve literally been told many times that I can’t be demisexual because demis will still fantasise and consume porn (although that doesn’t line up with my understanding that demis require a close bond to feel sexual attraction, but never mind), and I’ve even been accused of having some weird internalised Christian puritan shit going on because I genuinely cannot comprehend ever looking at or thinking about someone in that way who isn’t my man. As if anything about this is a choice for me and it is offensive to them somehow. As if only feeling attraction to one person is like… ā€œworseā€ than never feeling any attraction at all. I’ve never once shamed others for how they experience sex and sexual attraction and never would, yet people act like that’s what I’m inherently doing just by speaking about my own experiences.
So no, I won’t say whether acespec people are ā€œoppressedā€ or not because honestly, when is this shit ever going to come up in conversation and ever be that relevant? But the fact I don’t feel I can talk about it even amongst other queer people, even amongst others in the acespec community, kind of speaks for itself.
Being a queer man who can’t relate to all the stereotypes and anecdotes about enjoying casual sex is one type of loneliness. Being a queer acespec man who can’t even relate to most others in the acespec community is another. I can never win, and either way I do not fit in.

No one judge or hate me for what I’m about to say.
When I’m reading One piece fan fiction/headcannons about Zoro and they say he’s a bad dad or hates kids, I immediately stop reading and move on to the next fic/headcanon because I remember the water 7 filler arc and how he (begrudgingly yet caring) took care of the baby triplets and children when the big brother role was forced onto him. Like Zoro? Hating kids?
For me it’s a bad take but whatever you do you šŸ¤·šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø

ASMR Rant pt. 6: Thoughts after binging Jessie Love ASMR
First ~ Previous ~ Next
*flops down on couch* Yeah, sane Nyx is probably gone by this time, so we're stuck with slightly-feral Nyx, wooooooo-
Edit: [slightly-feral Nyx then fell unconscious five minutes later so we have sane Nyx again]
Jessie Love ASMR: BADDIE ALERT RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH-
Mental state: I just passed out, it's very late-
Favorite series: The Hunter and The Vampire, Among US, The Hunter's Organization
Series I thought I'd dislike but ended up loving: Among US
Random thoughts:
NOT a live reaction... busy day yesterday, so I just had Jessie's series playing in the background as a snack 0w0
Searching for the Impostor: "EVIL LISTENER, EVIL LISTENER WOOOOOOO-" Caught by the Impostor: "... OKAY I TAKE IT BACK, THIS IS SCARY-"
I love it when people play around with a silly little game when making their stories- it makes you realize "Oh! Oh, the entire premise is actually creepy af-"
Loved the monologue both when she got caught and when she was changing form after Listener got caught, very tense moment.
I've also realized that I could never have a werewolf partner, I would probably insult so many of them- *giant, intimidating wolf mythic that just shifted in front of me* *me with no survival instincts whatsoever*: "It's a murder bubbas, hai pubbyyyyyy! :D You want chest scritches???"
Also I now need to take Artemis and Alyssa to therapy (why is Alyssa just like me, come on now-)
BRIDGETTE MY GIRL I LOVE HER- I thought she was cool when she showed up in the Raban collab but AAAAA SHE WAS OUR MENTOR- and maker, I did not expect Listener to be turned. "They're probably fine, they just gotta take a few deep breaths-" "You need to drink this-" "Ohhhh, this isn't good-" (What do you meannnnnnnn she was humming "It's Been So Long aaaaaaaaaaaa-)
COULD NOT BELIEVE WHEN I SAW A "SCARY STORIES TO TELL IN THE DARK" READING, I LOVEDDDDDDDDDDD THAT SERIES-
*picks up Andrew and Dawn* *places them next to Alpha/Livana and Goblin/Goblin Girlfriend on the "Ships I would die for" shelf*
THEY ARE SO FREAKING CUTE AND I LOVE THEM OMGGGGGG- I LOVE collabs like this they make me so freaking happy-
Although Andrew did lose a point when he started judging Mariokart, my good sir, how freaking dare you (I miss it so much, wish I still had my Wii 😭)
Acting from everyone in that series was amazing too, everyone killed it.
Mythic queennnnnnnnn, kyaaa this was a good run-

Lenore: [Carmilla] showed me her maps. I made her angry, I think. She showed me maps of the world. Hector: I know, I know. A giant human pen from here to Braila. I've had the lectures. Lenore: Not anymore. Hector: She's been scheming. Lenore: And she showed me maps of the world, Hector. Hector: The world. Lenore: The pen was about securing our survival and safety for centuries to come. It was an insane idea, but we could stretch and make it work. But now she sees weakness everywhere. And we were a strong and stable community in a world that lost many of its vampire leaders at Braila. Hector: So what you're saying is if it's there, she's going to drink it. Lenore: She said she had one plan: to annex land from here to the sea. She promised me that was her plan, and then she was left alone, and then I made her angry and she showed me her maps. I think she lied to me. Hector: Just the way Dracula lied to me.
So this is another way S4 forcibly pushes a connection between Hector and Lenore for the sake of making us sympathize with her.
Lenore is panicking about Carmilla's new plan. In theory, she's worried about the kingdom's stability and Carmilla's sanity, but I'll come back to her true reasons for protesting. For now, the point is that Lenore, in her circular reasoning, somehow went from "we left her alone, and she started scheming beyond her original plan" to "she was lying to me, and only revealed the truth when I made her angry: if I didn't, she would have kept the lie". Now, this doesn't make sense in any way: why would Carmilla lie to one of her closest allies? Even if Lenore is useless to her plan, she is still an ally and a friend (allegedly), and it would be both disadvantageous and impractical to keep her in the dark. The framing is very much that Carmilla went mad and got hungrier for power and her plan morphed in those six weeks between S3 and S4, and she just happened to choose that moment to rant.
(hilariously, the dialogue is extremely contrived too: Lenore just says "Please, would Dracula have kept [Hector] around in his own castle if he were that dangerous?" and that spurns Carmilla to completely forget about the issue of Hector behaving suspiciously and talk about the castle she didn't get, which wasn't even remotely Lenore's point. yeah no she didn't reveal the plan out of anger, but out of writing convenience lmao)
Now, I could concede this as the character being wrong. Lenore is allowed to be wrong, and the bias she's expressing make sense: the situation is making her feel insecure, unneeded and perhaps unwanted. Remember: this is the same scene where she appreciates Hector for not making her feel bad about raping him into slavery "wanting to listen to her", unlike everyone else in the castle. She is lost and confused and can't trust Carmilla anymore, and as I pointed out she is incredibly self-centered, so fine, I buy that she interprets her behavior as malice against her.
But the framing is not that. Because then Hector remembers he is a human being with a brain and says the only meaningful response to Lenore's rant.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
lmao i can't take that frame seriously it's literally surprisedpikachuface.jpg
And this is bullshit.
The two situations are not comparable from this angle. Carmilla is being set to be Dracula 2.0, that much is true: an insane old woman who has lost her way, consumed by pain and hatred, and is no longer thinking about the consequences of her plan, risking the safety of her underlings. But that's the extent of it. Carmilla actually cares about her sisters, in her own way, even if she makes fun of Lenore for her love for animals. Lenore perceived Carmilla as getting angry at her, but in reality she simply got worked up, and had nothing against her if not her incompetence in making Hector work, which got resolved anyway.
We don't know how the other three got roped into her council, but there is zero indication that Carmilla ever used bold-faced lies like when Dracula promised Hector that they'd work to cull mankind when in reality he wanted to exterminate everyone, something he even admitted to do because "he's easy to lie to". He did not change his plan between his hiring of Hector and his death! He deliberately lied to him from the get-go!
Hector and Lenore have the similar situation of being considered the weaklings of the group for their softness and misguided ideas of mercy. They could bond over that. But Hector's situation was still far worse: he got taken advantage of precisely because of his softness and his pathological need to be loved, something Lenore cannot share because, even with her soft faƧade, she is too cunning to be tricked, lives her comfortable life as one of the queens, and she was considered integral to the group until now. Hector was betrayed by Dracula, only the first of many instances: he got convinced that Dracula planned to kill him too, and we don't know if he would have done it, but the story seems to believe so. And that's not mentioning how this betrayal was the catalyst for all the hell Hector went through, which incidentally included Lenore. We see with our own eyes that Hector's reaction to being powerless is fawning and clinging, while Lenore's reaction to feeling powerless is exerting her power over creatures beneath her.
You don't get to pull the 🄺 face on me, Lenore. You don't get to create a "you're just like me fr fr" moment by twisting the narrative to look more of a woobie than you are. Especially not right after you shushed Hector down when he dared to complain about being raped. You are not the victim here, you can't fathom the heartbreak Hector went through because of Dracula, Carmilla and you, and the relationship between you two is built on nothing but lies, both of your telling and of the disingenuous story itself which at this point is a bigger liar than all three of those characters.
And yes, this is a lie from the story, because this feels like a deliberate retcon! Lenore in S3 was a complacent cog in the machine. She agreed to help Carmilla, she admits in that very scene in S4 that she saw the original plan as a way to secure stability which is what she cares about the most, and all of her gaslighting, manipulations and sexual abuse were for the main purpose of turning Hector into the perfect tool to proceed with that plan (the pet part was a nice bonus). There is the theory that she didn't like the plan much based on one frame where she frowns, but as usual, other expressions of hers betray her:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
She seems quite happy with it! She just apparently didn't like Carmilla's "self-replicating food" joke, for reasons I don't understand - she too treats Hector like an animal, so I don't see why she'd be miffed at the dehumanization. Sure, Carmilla's joke darkly implies the humans would be forced to breed, but why would the residential rapist care? Or maybe it's just her being not very amused at Carmilla's sense of humor in general. the joke was pretty stupid, tbh - all organic food is "self-replicating", your evil speeches need some serious work girl
Even if I believed that she is acting here, and was always secretly uncomfortable with this livestock plan and all that it entailed, she clearly did not protest much, and accepted to go along for the sake of the security that the plan would grant her. In fact, resorting to abuse and rape for the sake of a plan she didn't even approve doesn't make her much better.
Actually, while I'm at it, it's very noticeable to me that Lenore, who was introduced to us as such an animal lover that she'd tear up the castle to find a splinter for a spider, shows absolutely zero compassion for all those "animals" bound to be caged and bled to death for her survival, and only makes it about how useless she'll be. In fact, let's go back to how she introduces her new subject of whining!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
[...]
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
It's one thing to point out how diplomacy would be dead in Carmilla's vision of the world, which would be all based on conquest and subjugation, which is a reasonable, selfless concern. Were she mainly worried that the times of peace are coming to an end and she's scared of all the needless bloodshed and misery Carmilla is going to cause, I'd buy this - she does say, in S4E2, that "I will never be comfortable with the idea that the best way to end war is to kill most of the people and cage the rest" (notice, however, the word "uncomfortable" in this context. Not that it's morally appalling, just that it makes her upset. mhh). But clearly, her main issue is that she'd be out of a job and she'll feel useless in the council. It's all about her and her poor feelings.
When we humans hear about animals being slaughtered, like baby seals or elephants, we tend to be horrified for them. This is the equivalent of hearing that slaves in Congo are dying en masse to mine cobalt, and only being concerned that the prices of iPhones might go up. Much kindness, many morally grey.
And say what you want about Hector's own lack of empathy for humans, but his reasoning did stem from his love of animals and seeing his own species like animals as well, animals who deeply hurt him and therefore needed to be controlled, while also providing food to vampires who to him were yet another species of animals! It's a terrible reasoning that he should have grown out of, but it is a twisted form of compassion! Lenore just wanted the comfort of easy food and an easy job! Lenore is boohooing now because her self-esteem is on the line, but she's not saying anything that can be equated to Hector shouting that he doesn't want to paddle in the blood of children, a moral concern he had once he started to realize Dracula's plan entailed more bloodshed than he wanted!
Unlike Hector who apparently didn't think much about the aftermath and honestly thought he would do a good thing in his naivetƩ, Lenore was fully aware of what Carmilla's idea entailed and went along with it for her own comfort. Carmilla just expanded her view later on! But of course, if we now say that Carmilla lied to Lenore and the story doesn't stop to remind us of what happened one season prior, Lenore suddenly becomes innocent, because see? She's better than mean Carmilla! She only raped Hector for his own good, but she didn't mean to harm mankind! It's literally the same logic that neutered the ring: everything must be sanitized to paint Lenore as this innocent, tragic figure.
Again, what irritates me is that the parallels are there. Carmilla is going insane like Dracula, yes, and she is endangering the kingdom. Lenore feels the black sheep of the group like Hector was (although he never realized it, even though Isaac always talked to him like he itched to call him the R-slur). They have traits in common! Use them! But no, this plotline is nothing more than the writers yelling "PLEASE FEEL SOWWY FOR THE WIDDLE RAPIST SHE DID NOTHING WRONG IN HER LIFE LOOK AT HER CUTE FACE 🄺🄺🄺🄺🄺 CARMILLA IS THE TRUE MEANIE HATE THAT BITCH NOT OUR LENORE WHO IS JUST A POOR GIRL AND NOBODY LOVES HER 🄺"

In Princess Zelda’s defense: Misogyny in the Legend of Zelda (and every fandom really)
(Spoiler Warning for BOTW and TOTK)
One thing I’ve noticed as Tears Of the Kingdom has come out, is this incredibly shameless irritable misogyny in the Legend of Zelda fandom. With fandom and internet culture really boosting in the last decade, I feel as if people are less fearful of what they say, and I’ve noticed it in the fandoms I love, like Legend of Zelda specifically.
What could I possibly mean? Doesn’t everybody love Zelda? You’d be incredibly surprised what people say about her.
I can’t image why. She’s incredibly kind, smart, interesting and an emotionally complicated character, which I personally find endearing and not at all bland. However, I think I’ve finally come to understand *why* she’s so hated in the fandom as of this last couple weeks. I think I finally get it.
Zelda is a complex character. I know this doesn’t fit with some of the fandoms fantasy of her being ā€œboringā€, but I challenge that with a question. Why is it that every female character, regardless of personality, backstory and upbringing, actions and speech patterns are all boring to you? Is it because they’re actually boring? Or is it because female characters, no matter how developed, will always take the back seat to male characters even with less complexities?
I think I would be remiss if I didn’t mention shipping culture playing a huge part. It’s unfortunate, because, as a gay person, I do think that a lot of the fujoshi/bl community is misogynistic and hates admitting that: so they turn towards the only thing they can- picking and choosing small scenes and lines out of context to demonize a perfectly fine character.
Let me remind you all that I don’t care about harmless shipping. Mostly everyone in fandom ships characters. It’s normal and as long as you aren’t being weird about it and everything is morally correct: who cares. However, I do think that shipping culture has made is hard for people in fandom to correctly distinguish media in any other way. And that’s unfortunate. But I’ll come back to my shipping point later.
Zelda, for instance, is not fond of Link in the beginning of the TOTK/BOTW/Age of Calamity timeline. That’s very apparent from the very first memory in order from Breath of the Wild. In context, that all makes sense why and it’s explained very well. She very quickly after takes a liking to Link, and the rest is history.
However, you have people saying that she’s awful, hates Link, treats him badly, etc. She’s being treated like she’s helpless, something that, in game, she despises feeling. If you can’t tell from context, many times it’s said out loud and in your face. Take this memory with Urbosa for example:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
She feels like a failure and Link being appointed to her just reminds her of that feeling.
Tumblr media
Despite feeling this way, she’s proven to be a character that can grow and develop. She takes a liking to Link, as previously mentioned before, shortly after said scene with Urbosa explaining to link why she is the way she is. After her heart crushing memory where she’s sobbing about how she couldn’t save her father, the champions or Hyrule, Link is in danger. He is close to death and still he refuses to give up. At the very moment he is going to die. Zelda *finally* is able to release her power, after many many years, and in turn, his life. Why? Because she loves him.
Tumblr media
Mipha hints at this being the way she can release her power. Though she doesn’t outright say it, it’s incredibly obvious she’s trying to get across that Zelda think about love and who she cares for.
I feel like if a man had that same backstory, people would acknowledge how incredibly complex of a character he was. They never do this with female characters, and instead take their emotions at face value, like how Zelda has multiple scenes where her determinations, wants and hopes are explained with heavy emotion and people throw it all away for some screwed up, incorrect perception of a character who is more multifaceted then they can ever comprehend.
And why do I think people refuse to look at the truth when it comes to Zelda? Yep, I’m going back to shipping. Like I mentioned before, specifically the fujoshi shipping community seems to be incredibly misogynistic as a whole. And if you self identify as a fujoshi, please stop. It’s not a good term or a nice term. Obviously this isn’t about people who enjoy gay ships in general as I don’t see any harm in shipping whatever you want as long as it’s not morally wrong. However, as someone who has been heavily engrained in fandom culture for the majority of my life: women are second rate citizens to the vast majority of these people.
With the appearance of Sidon in BOTW came a brand new ship that, though I think it’s a very very weird ship considering that Sidon looks like this when Link first meets him:
Tumblr media
I never had anything much to say about it. I didn’t ship it, but to each their own since Sidon is very much an adult in current day BOTW/TOTK.
However, the birth is Sidon as a character has incredibly turned the tide when it comes to how people view Zelda. Every bit of character growth and backstory has been dismantled because they see her as a ā€œhome-wreckerā€ to this very much headcanoned ship. I genuinely think people who do this have very little ability to understand female characters in any piece of media, but Zelda is a great example of this. Now that TOTK has come out and Sidon (reminder from the beginning of this post, that I said there would be spoilers) canonically has a Fiance, I feel like this misunderstanding of female characters has just completely gone off the rails and people are now just saying things completely untrue.
For one: I don’t think arranged marriages are ever the best way to try to convince an audience that two characters are in love, and I give that to the shipping community completely. Arranged marriages are not good 9/10 times. Though, sometimes they work out, it’s often for political reasons, and almost never are these two people in love. It’s not a good trope. *However*
Sidons case is different. Yona, a brand new character in the series, is his fiancĆ©. She’s, in my opinion, is quite pretty and helpful to the Zora community, as she seems to be their main healer in the domain.
A lot of the fandom is taking the fact that he saw her as a sister when he was a CHILD out of context as he quite literally says in the next paragraph that his feelings for her start to change and become ā€œdifficult to quantifyā€ which clearly, in this case, means that those feelings are changing. And then, he seems to get to embarrassed to go further as those are for more private thoughts. Not only that, but Sidon very clearly calls her his love multiple times, even when she isn’t around.
Tumblr media
And how does this character, the kind and caring Yona get treated?
Badly. Just from the first month of this game being out I’ve heard that she should die, she’s a dumb bitch, she’s ugly, she’s boring (how creative), etc.
I can’t help but notice that these comments are clearly coming from a place of distain that Sidon isn’t a free man, and believe it or not hating a female character because she gets in the way of your ships is misogynistic whether or not you think it is!
Now that Sidon isn’t free for grabs, I feel like that brings considerably more backlash upon Zelda yet again because she’s just not a character that can be ignored in favor of Sidon anymore. I’ve noticed an incredible increase of this hate that just doesn’t make any sense to me.
Hating female characters just because they get in the way of your ships will never be cool, but will always unfortunately be a part of fandom that I will refuse to get behind. It’s not just The Legend of Zelda fandom. I can name multiple female characters who get hate for the same exact thing.
This may have just been a rant that went on too long, maybe a mini essay, I’m not sure, but I genuinely challenge the Zelda community to interact more with the actual game over who belongs with who and stop picking at straws to find faults in characters that ruin your perfect perception of who you want to be with who. And please, judge the female characters the same way you’d judge the male characters.

Regarding the recent post:
Killer Queen is too short ranged of a stand to affect most sleuths and it's not in Kira's character to drop Sheer Heart Attack at the police departament and hope.
Kira generally doesn't have many ways to deal with characters that: Work in teams. Work from far away. Have any sort of records showing that they're invastigating him.
The man had to be bailed out by Bites the Dust and still lost Most sleuths wouldn't even let Kira get away for long enough for him to aquire Bites the Dust so that's not even something to consider in most of these cases.
{But you're really ignoring one thing: It can't be detected by anyone but Stand Users. Why would they think they needed to investigate Yoshikage Kira specifically? There's no evidence of the killings, since in canon, even the police didn't try to investigate the mysterious disappearances. The sleuths would mostly not be able to understand that Killer Queen exists, and even if they assumed it was something supernatural, there's still no evidence. And the man managed to impersonate another man in front of his family, landlord, coworkers, and everyone who may have talked to Kosaku on the street, with only the man's child catching on. Had Hayato never thought to set up a camera in his parents' room, Kira would have never been caught at all. And Kira doing poorly against teams of people investigating him doesn't line up when he's gotten away from them twice (he would have escaped Jotaro and Koichi were it not for Act III, and he did escape the entire Duwang Gang when they were chasing him by severing his own hand), plus managing to keep his identity secret from EVERYONE except Hayato until the kid figured out how to use the time-loop to his advantage. You're right that most of the time Killer Queen wouldn't get to Bites the Dust, but it would be because Kira wouldn't need to. He has eliminated people in broad daylight before, and he could do so again when against someone who can't see Stands.}

Just saw a tiktok of a straight girl complaining that she wasn’t turned on during saltburn and that it disappointed her? Why is media literacy dead on that app?
Rant incoming
IMO, part of the point of the bath scene (her main complaint) is that it’s supposed to make you a bit comfortable, it’s supposed to completely break a boundary.
Viewers are already on edge, given that Oliver watches Felix through a door, at an angle that appeared INCREDIBLY exposed, almost as if Felix could turn around at any second and catch Oliver. That scene gets you in a vulnerable position already (on edge) and then instead of doing the two expected things- moving on and getting Oliver to go to his own room, or Felix noticing and reacting to him- he isn’t caught.
He doesn’t go to bed.
He goes FURTHER. He pushes FURTHER.
So, it’s normal however you react. Thats the beauty of being human, some people like that stuff, but it’s just as normal to feel disgusted or strangely empty after that scene.
Now, I’m a lesbian, so I don’t take in media in the same way as she does, I imagine. From her perspective, I imagine she went in expecting two (or more) attractive men being seductive, and was disappointed by the fact that Oliver’s sexuality was very deranged and obsessive, that Felix’s sexuality was very much in the dark, given Oliver’s perspective of the women he slept with. I can imagine that it’s disappointing and I can’t fully understand that, but it’s unfair to judge the film on whether or not you find it personally hot.
I think people are forgetting the actual point of the film and are just seeing it as ā€˜I didn’t find it hot so bad rating’. I think the unconventional love, sexuality and attraction is the WHOLE POINT of the film. It makes it. I think you should find Oliver cringe, even if you like his character or plot etc. I think he kind of takes parts of people that are relatable or attractive and then twists it. So by completely disregarding the entire thing because you didn’t find it personally attractive, you miss out on the point.
Main point because I went off track a bit there…
Essentially, I think you’re supposed to be unsettled by the bath scene particularly, to some level.
The whole film follows Felix in tiny moments, washing six months of homoerotic friendship with a romantic filter, idealising his and Oliver’s relationship as the most important, beautiful thing to ever be born from Oxford.
And I think you forget for a minute that these moments are SMALL. In Oliver’s head, they’re not, so to us, they also appear big and cute, but they’re barely even present if you really think about it (in a romantic/sexual way, not platonic). Then suddenly Oliver is watching him masturbate, drinking the water, licking the drain. It’s all suddenly *too* much, overwhelmingly obsessive, completely reminding the viewers that Oliver is the narrator, the protagonist, the one painting this beautiful image. Reminding the audience that this relationship is nowhere near this point yet is the reason for that scene to some level; it physically forces you to reconsider who is the ā€˜good guy’, if Oliver should do this, if he is anywhere close to being able to get away with this. I think you suddenly look back and think ??? Felix would think this is crazy ???
It’s crazy, because I argue the bath scene isn’t even the moment this theme is introduced. The film sets this up SO EARLY. DID YOU MISS THE SCENE WHERE FELIX IS UNDRESSING WITH A GIRL AND OLIVER STANDS OUTSIDE OF HIS WINDOW WATCHING HIM??? That’s foreshadowing: he doesn’t understand the boundary here, he’s incredibly jealous of Felix’s sexual life without him so he places himself in his life, even if Felix doesn’t know. Thats the point. It’s just shoved in the middle of a montage of these perfect moments between the two so you see it and think OLIVER STOP BEING WEIRD!!!
Anyways. TikTok please engage in critical thinking before posting challenge xoxo
