Vinegar Syndrome / Distribpix Press Release: A Home Video Merger of Epic Proportion
Bridgeport, Connecticut - Vinegar Syndrome is excited to announce an exclusive distribution partnership with legendary NYC-based exploitation and sexploitation producer and distributor, Distribpix Inc.
This partnership will bring Distribpix’s extensive catalog of close to 300 feature films to Home Video, including countless never on disc titles as well as classic exploitation films from genre masters such as Michael and Roberta Findlay, the Amero Brothers, Joe Sarno, Chuck Vincent, Radley Metzger, Ron Sullivan, and Shaun Costello, among dozens more. Additionally, Distribpix’s unprecedented archive of key 1960s and early 70s exploitation rarities, many of which have been completely unavailable since the VHS and early DVD era, will at last be making their return to disc, all newly restored and presented in the type of deluxe, collector-centric editions that both Distribpix and Vinegar Syndrome are known for creating.
Tumblr media
Vinegar Syndrome co-founder Joe Rubin, in describing the collaboration said, “Vinegar Syndrome and Distribpix have worked together before Vinegar Syndrome existed. This venture has been a long time coming and I couldn’t be more excited to be working on preserving, restoring and releasing this collection. So many of the best and most significant sexploitation and early hardcore features were produced by Distribpix and it is an honor to finally be able to consider them part of the Vinegar Syndrome family.”
Head of Distribpix Inc, Steven Morowitz responded “The gang at Vinegar Syndrome is wonderful; they opened their doors and welcomed me into their family. I am honored and grateful for this opportunity and together we are going to produce some absolutely amazing packages. Vinegar Syndrome is the best at what they do, from the highest quality restorations, to top-notch physical releases, so this really is a perfect match and the best spot for Distribpix. Our companies not only thrive on excellent restorations and releasing, but there is a major emphasis on film preservation and archiving, which was equally attractive to me.”
Tumblr media
While schedule specifics are still being worked out, Radley Metzger and Gerard Kikoine’s, The Tale of Tiffany Lust (1981), starring Veronica Hart, Vanessa Del Rio, Desiree Cousteau, Samantha Fox, George Payne, and Dominique St Clair, will be making its world 4K UHD and Blu-Ray debut late this summer, while Michael Findlay’s notorious Flesh Trilogy is being prepared for a Blu-Ray release this fall, in partnership with Something Weird Video. Additionally, the Command Cinema line which has been distributed by Distribpix for the last several years will also be joining the Distribpix/Vinegar Syndrome family and will see both Blu-Ray and 4K debuts of producer/director, Cecil Howard’s acclaimed erotica.
Tumblr media
This monumental merger coincides with the launch of Mélusine, a new online marketplace for premium home video editions of sexploitation and hardcore cinema primarily produced during both genres’ golden ages: the early 1960s through the late 1980s. In addition to serving as the new retail home for Command Cinema, several other brandings will be launched:
Mélusine, which will serve as the flagship brand, will offer deluxe 4K UHD/Blu-ray combo pack editions of some of the landmark works in hardcore theatrical features, with an emphasis on works by the genre’s most acclaimed filmmakers.
Quality X, the name of which pays homage to what was one of the most esteemed early home video distributors of erotic entertainment, will offer single film Blu-ray editions of standout and hidden gem theatrical hardcore features from around the globe.
Distribpix itself will become home to all things sexploitation, pulling from both Vinegar Syndrome and Distribpix’s vast libraries and ranging from the earliest nudie cuties all the way through the tail end of theatrical softcore. Releases will be single, double and triple feature Blu-rays.
Finally, Vinegar Syndrome’s acclaimed hardcore feature branding, Peekarama, will continue to offer double feature Blu-rays of hardcore films in all genres.
In keeping with Vinegar Syndrome and Distribpix’s focus on film preservation, releases under all branding will meet the highest standards in presentation quality and the most comprehensive available extras.
The union between the two companies will produce the widest and most diverse catalog of exploitation, sexploitation and classic hardcore features, available on disc anywhere in the world.

Envision hell’s paradise, and you may cultivate the image of two precisely defined horns gripping onto a pitched-fork yet to someone who had the veins of summer bred in their bones, it only relit the need to venture out into its heat waves. It wasn’t the sort where a newly ironed shirt pressed against someone’s skin in a sweat-induced stir, humidity being the missing ingredient to once pleasantly appealing look. But slightly bouncing off of electric streets, finding itself lingering in tropical cocktails and even a tad far out where the golden rays magnetized its similar color across the desert below. Only ever making her wish she was in one of those fashionably cool car movies back in the day where red handkerchiefs were tousled to mark the starting threads of competition. Luckily so, it had been the case now when their customized Baja dune buggies first speeded down the trepidacious course. To anyone who knew her driving skills or very much lack of, they would’ve been acutely aware of her having no ideas on what gear was to what. Braking had become revving, the other swapping tides, and the minutes in between were spent wobbling stubbornly close to the competitors’ side who had far more experience under his belt.
None of which she exactly cared about as she made it across the finishing line, timely ahead of the other, and catching that second glimpse of the red handkerchief. Lifting the squared-box helmet off her head, what was once curls were now waves from the tightened pressure jerkily shook out to create soft shadows underneath her cheekbones. She never precisely cared, though, what she looked like around Zac, him being one of the few people to tune her radio’s personality dial into the right station at all times. Giving him in question a satisfactory smirk, she stood up from the vehicle and walked towards the side-adjacent tent set up for any breaks the two of them would’ve needed. It was only a minute before he was hot on her tail. “Sure you want to go again?” She asked, knowing a rematch was bound to be the first utterings from his mouth. Her hand shot upwards, shielding her eyes from the blistering yellow rays. The tent could only do so much. “I would love to claim another win, but I’m concerned I’ve already done enough damage to your ego.” An eyebrow inched higher from its usual spot, almost beckoning him to spin some witty tale of his own, before hugging the helmet now held in the wing of arm closer to her body.

Penang Tales : Dining with The Most Beautiful Scenery in Penang (Part 2)
This is Part 2 of our Penang Trip. Both my sisters came back from USA and Australia respectively for a short break. We went to Penang to visit our mom's side family and had a simple family wedding dinner ceremony of my sister Skye (  @skyemak  ) and her husband, Victor.
Here we traveled to Armenian Street in Georgetown and visited some tourist attractions there ie Hock Teik Cheng Sin Temple, Khoo Kongsi, Famous Murals like the Bicycle Mural, and did some shopping. Then for lunch, we went to Restaurant Taman Emas opposite Penang Girl School for their laksa (It's really delicious but I've tasted better). Then we went to Straits Quay and had Nyonya Dinner at Nyonya Breeze. It was great!
We spent the next day at Penang Hill. Visited many attractions within the Penang Hill, my sister Skye went to The Habitat with Victor. The rest of us chilled at David Brown at the top of Penang Hill. Then we gathered and headed to Hickory at Penang Hill for Lunch. It was the most memorable experience. Scenery of Penang is most beautiful there. The over a century old structure is very well maintained and clean. Food was amazing. It was quiet. I think not many people know about it. Or many just don't want the trouble of stopping in the middle of Penang Hill as the Funicular Railway train only stops by there once every hour and we had to let them know in advance each travel, and call them again 5 minutes prior to the departure time.
My sister had her simple wedding dinner for family at Starview. It was delicious and cozy.

Exploring the Rich Tapestry of India
India, a land of diverse cultures, vibrant traditions, and breathtaking landscapes, has always held a special place in my heart. In the winter of 2022, I embarked on a remarkable journey to this incredible country, ready to embrace its beauty and delve into its rich history. From bustling metropolises to serene villages, my travel experience in India was a tapestry woven with unforgettable moments.
Delhi: The Historical Capital
My journey began in the capital city, Delhi, where the past and present coexist in perfect harmony. The city is a testament to India's historical significance, boasting iconic landmarks like the Red Fort, Qutub Minar, and India Gate. Stepping into these historical sites was like entering a time machine, as I imagined the great emperors and freedom fighters who had walked these very grounds.
One of the highlights of my Delhi visit was exploring Old Delhi's narrow alleys and bustling markets. The aroma of street food filled the air as I savored spicy kebabs and delectable sweets at Chandni Chowk. The Jama Masjid, with its towering minarets and grandeur, was a sight to behold, offering a moment of serenity amidst the city's chaos.
The Taj Mahal: A Monument to Love
A short train ride away from Delhi lies Agra, home to one of the most iconic monuments in the world, the Taj Mahal. This ivory-white marble mausoleum, built by Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his beloved wife Mumtaz, left me awe-struck. At sunrise, as the first rays of light kissed the marble, the Taj Mahal seemed to change color, shifting from soft pink to dazzling white. It was a moment of pure magic.
Jaipur: The Pink City
Continuing my journey, I arrived in Jaipur, also known as the Pink City due to its terracotta-colored buildings. The City Palace, a magnificent complex of courtyards and museums, showcased the opulent lifestyle of the Rajput royals. Climbing up to the Amber Fort on an elephant was an experience that transported me back to the days of Maharajas and their grandeur.
Jaipur is famous for its vibrant markets, and I couldn't resist indulging in some retail therapy at Johari Bazaar, where precious gemstones and jewelry glistened in the shop windows. The Hawa Mahal, or Palace of Winds, was another architectural gem I explored, its intricate façade designed to allow royal women to observe the city without being seen.
Varanasi: The Spiritual Hub
My next destination was Varanasi, one of the oldest continually inhabited cities in the world. This spiritual hub on the banks of the Ganges River offered a profound experience. I witnessed the mesmerizing Ganga Aarti ceremony at the ghats, where priests chanted hymns and lit oil lamps to honor the river. It was a deeply moving ceremony that showcased India's spiritual diversity.
The Backwaters of Kerala: Tranquility Unveiled
From the northern plains, I headed south to Kerala, a state known for its lush greenery and serene backwaters. Cruising through the backwaters on a traditional houseboat was a tranquil experience. As I drifted along palm-fringed canals and observed the simple, picturesque life of the villagers, I felt a deep sense of peace and connection with nature.
Kerala also treated me to its delectable cuisine. From spicy seafood curries to crispy dosas, each meal was a burst of flavors that left my taste buds dancing with delight. It was a culinary journey I'll cherish forever.
Udaipur: The City of Lakes
My final stop was Udaipur, often referred to as the Venice of the East. This city is a testament to the Rajput's love for art and architecture, with stunning palaces like the City Palace and the Lake Palace nestled on the shores of Lake Pichola. The boat ride to Jag Mandir, a marble island palace, felt like a scene from a fairy tale.
Udaipur's colorful markets beckoned me to explore, and I couldn't resist picking up traditional Rajasthani textiles and handicrafts. The city's charm, combined with its serene lakes, made it a fitting end to my Indian odyssey.
Reflections on the Journey
As I boarded my flight back home, I couldn't help but reflect on the incredible journey I had just undertaken. India had unfolded before me like a magnificent tapestry, each city and region a unique thread contributing to its rich and diverse culture.
My travel experience in India had been a journey through time and tradition, a blend of history, spirituality, and natural beauty. It left me with a profound appreciation for this remarkable country and its warm and welcoming people. India had not just been a destination; it had been an unforgettable experience that had left an indelible mark on my heart.
In the end, my travels in India had been a reminder that the world is a vast and wondrous place, waiting to be explored and cherished. India had opened my eyes to its incredible beauty, and I couldn't wait to embark on my next adventure, ready to discover more of the world's treasures.
So, if you're seeking a travel experience that will leave you spellbound, I wholeheartedly recommend India. It's a land of wonders, waiting to be explored, and a journey you'll treasure for a lifetime.

RAM Trends: The Future of Gaming Consoles
Tumblr media
Consumer Nintendo Switch 2 may feature more RAM than Xbox Series S
There is speculation that the retail version of the Nintendo Switch 2 will include greater random access memory (RAM) than the Xbox Series S. This is according to rumours. According to a rumour, this is the case.
The latest rumour about the Nintendo Switch 2 states that the next-generation hybrid system may maybe come with greater random access memory (RAM) than a formidable adversary such as the Microsoft Xbox Series S. This latest rumour was only recently brought to light.
The Japanese media were the ones who first disseminated the tale. Additionally, an update has been given by the same source on the possible DLSS support and ray-tracing capabilities of the Switch 2.
People who have a more optimistic stance on the situation feel that the fact that there has been an increasing number of leaks and reports referring to the Nintendo Switch 2 may be an indicator that the firm will soon make an official announcement regarding the console. These individuals believe this because there have been a rising number of leaks and reports pertaining to the device.
Despite the fact that there is still a possibility that Nintendo could introduce the Switch 2 in a future episode of Nintendo Direct or at an event such as the Tokyo Game Show (21-24 September), The Big N has not yet disclosed any solid information on the device.
This is the case despite the fact that there remains a possibility that Nintendo will unveil the Switch 2 in either of these settings. In spite of this, leaks continue to arise, and a new one from “Necro” Felipe is sure to get Switch devotees highly enthusiastic about what it exposes because of who it comes from.
According to both the author and the source, the random access memory (RAM) in the retail edition of the Nintendo Switch 2 will be 12 gigabytes in size. This is an impressive number for a hybrid device, and it marks a significant improvement over its predecessor in this regard. To put this number into perspective, the random access memory (RAM) capacity of the PlayStation 5 and the Microsoft Xbox Series X is each 16 gigabytes, but the RAM capacity of the Xbox Series S is just 10 gigabytes.
The memory capacity of the first Nintendo Switch was just 4 gigabytes, but the next Switch 2 will have a capacity that is roughly equivalent to having a memory capacity that is three times as much as the original Switch did.
The same source also mentioned the recent news that a technical demo for the Nintendo Switch 2 was discovered to have been leaked online. This information was mentioned in the same sentence. During the demonstration, it was said that the product will have DLSS technology (perhaps version 3.5), and the source suggested that this information had been discovered.
It would appear that Nvidia DLSS 3.1 will be making its way to the Switch 2, which means that Mario and Link should be able to make use of technologies such as DLAA for smoother edges and ray tracing for lighting and reflections that help deliver improved gaming environments for the games that use them. These technologies help deliver improved gaming environments for the games because they help deliver better lighting and reflections.
These technologies help enhance the gaming settings for the games by delivering better lighting and reflections, which is one of the ways they help improve the surroundings. The incorporation of these technologies into games results in an enhancement of the gaming environments in such games; this improvement is a direct outcome of the incorporation of these technologies.

Locals were gleefully playing weekly rounds of The Last of Us on HBO, which was made in Alberta two weeks ago. A savvy Twitter user combined photo editing with a hilarious Calgary inside joke, and I'm familiar with that specific location.
The tweet praised set designers for making Calgary "look like a post-apocalyptic wasteland." Images of the show's main characters wandering through Eau Claire Market, the downtown shopping centre that has lumbered along — some would say zombie-like — for nearly 30 years, were attached.
Days after that bit of Calgary gallows humour, Eau Claire Market's demise was written into its saga. The concrete edifice by the Bow will be vacated next year and torn down so the city can build a Green Line LRT underground station.
Sure, some Calgarians will miss the cinema, or that Thai stand in the food court, or have fond memories of the market's more bustling early days.
But its demise was long overdue, including in the eyes of site owner Harvard Developments, which has been planning to wipe it out and build anew since at least 2006.
The rise and long-drawn-out fall of Eau Claire Market is a cautionary tale. It's a project that began with such zeal in the 1980s — Calgary's Granville Island! — and opened in the early 1990s. Since then, it has been a source of civic concern.
There are numerous reasons why it has consistently struggled. However, there is a moral at the heart of this drama. Trying to smuggle elements into Calgary is a recipe for disaster.
The dream began in 1984. Calgary's economy was in the dumps, and the massive bus barns in Eau Claire had just closed in favour of transit garages farther from the core.
This large plot of prime land is stored between the corporate core and Prince's Island Park. When civic leaders saw those vacant buildings, they had only one thought: market. The revival of public needs and farmers' markets in North America — or "festival markets" in the jargon of the time.
Edmonton had refashioned its bus barn off Whyte Avenue into a thriving farmer's market in 1983, but it was wary of drawing inspiration from what Alberta's other city was doing.
The former industrial brick buildings along False Creek in Vancouver were redeveloped in 1979 into a cluster of restaurants, cultural and retail facilities and anchored by a fresh food market, which drew the attention of Calgary boosters.
It was breathtaking, and so many folks desired one. Ralph Klein, the city's mayor, travelled to Vancouver for inspiration. He created a task force led by alderman Ray Clark.
They reminded the public not to expect a replica of Granville Island, a Calgary-specific market. However, endless reporters and proponents' musings quickly fueled the idea of mimicry. Initially, developers planned to turn the aging bus barns into a grand market a la Vancouver, Edmonton, and San Francisco's Ghirardelli Square.
Why wasn't that built? Clark recalled in an interview last week that the discovery of the site's oil contamination from its decades as a transit garage was part of the problem.
Delays and problems continued to pile up. Ownership was transferred from financier to financier. City Hall bargained over its rent and profit-sharing terms. Errors in construction. A $20 million price tag ballooned to $43 million.
The bus barns were demolished in 1988, and the two-story, 170,000-square-foot structure that Calgary residents are familiar with was built only five years later. The movie theatre wasn't finished yet, but the fishmonger, fruit stands, clothing boutiques, and Cajun Charles restaurant were popular with Calgary residents and tourists.
There have been visitors at different times. They happened to come to a location that was neither a market nor a brand-new shopping centre. Even the developers quickly admitted that Calgary lacked the population and proximity to produce and seafood to recreate downtown Vancouver's gem.
Even so, there were innumerable other telling flaws. It opened on the north edge of downtown, next to a Greyhound barn, in what was then Eau Claire's field of parking lots and vacant areas, holding out hope to be a catalyst for those spots to fill in with condos and office towers. (They arrived, but it was too late.)
This was also when downtown Calgary was not a great attraction for suburbanites; crime was an issue, and a well-known prostitute's stroll was outside the market's door. Furthermore, despite being owned by Calgary Transit and soon to be an LRT stop, the mall had restricted transit access to other malls, situated five downtown blocks from the C-Train.
The design was also a problem with the concrete parody of Granville Island's brick charm from the 1990s. A surface parking lot and the building's long windowless concrete slab confronted the rest of downtown; its main entrance was on the northern side, but its view from the river pathways was blocked by new row houses and an iron fence.
By 1998, the market was underwater - the potential value. It was sold that year, then again, before even being bought for $28 million by Regina-based Harvard Development.
In 2006, that company announced a plan to tear down the marketplace to make a path for condo towers and open-air retail. Then came another recession, accompanied by yet another set of redevelopment plans, accompanied by yet another recession.
This has kept Eau Claire Market in limbo for the duration of its existence, with tenants unable to settle in for the long term, never knowing when the wrecking ball would arrive. The preceding initiates a chain reaction of limited marketing for a doomed product and ongoing storefront vacancies.
According to the Calgary Eyeopener, another version of Harvard's retail and condo plan will be developed to accommodate the LRT line. She is the company's vision for Eau Claire and everything else in the city. That's a good thing for the project's future.

Tipard blu ray player 6.1.20
Tumblr media
TIPARD BLU RAY PLAYER 6.1.20 HOW TO
TIPARD BLU RAY PLAYER 6.1.20 DRIVERS
TIPARD BLU RAY PLAYER 6.1.20 PORTABLE
TIPARD BLU RAY PLAYER 6.1.20 SOFTWARE
There's not a lot of focus on playing ISOs, because if you have the ISO then you don't have any DRM, and handling that DRM is what makes these players special. While they can handle the Java programming that makes most retail Blu-Ray discs work, along with providing the menus & some special features, these players won't display those Java menus or features.
TIPARD BLU RAY PLAYER 6.1.20 HOW TO
Very basically these players take a stable, known media center app like XBMC & add the capability to handle Blu-Ray discs, particularly their DRM, and that usually means phoning home to find out how to handle the DRM on whatever disc. Tipard & similar will play any Blu-Ray disc, as long as that disc doesn't have a new type of DRM that the company hasn't seen or figured out yet. While it's not nearly as common as it used to be, you can sometimes pick up OEM versions of DVD players like PowerDVD & WinDVD cheap, & they can include features to make the video look better on your monitor, but you probably won't find any that can play Blu-Ray.Īt any rate here's some of the pros & cons for Blu-Ray player software. madVR is something you would use with a player & not a player itself, so again a bit of learning & maybe some trial & error. You can also try madVR which is a high quality video renderer - that page at videohelp has a link to the dev's thread giving more details & info.
TIPARD BLU RAY PLAYER 6.1.20 PORTABLE
Otherwise there are plenty of players available, some with portable versions like Light Alloy, or you can use media center apps like XBMC.
TIPARD BLU RAY PLAYER 6.1.20 SOFTWARE
Any player software you want to use has to understand Blu-Ray discs - it's not a matter of right clicking or dragging & dropping one file.įor just general media playback Media Player Classic Home Theater might have the most to offer when it comes to enhancing video display, with options to use various Direct Show files or filters that improve on what Windows offers - on the downside you have to learn about using those DS filters & maybe do a bit of trial & error. m2ts files, & any movies can be spread across more than one of them. That said, the Stream folder on a Blu-Ray disc can have as many as a hundred or so.
TIPARD BLU RAY PLAYER 6.1.20 DRIVERS
One alternative is to use AnyDVD HD or DVDFab's Passkey, which add drivers to Windows, sort of sitting between your Windows software & a DVD or Blu-Ray disc with DRM - they deal with the DRM so your software doesn't have to. The advantage of Blu-Ray players like this one from Tipard is that it can handle the DRM from Blu-Ray discs you buy or rent - the alternatives are players like PowerDVD & ArcSoft's TotalMedia Center rather than VLC or MPC HT. My Top 7 Underrated Indie-Horror Games
1. Detention
Tumblr media
Set in 1960s Taiwan of the White Terror period, students Wei and Ray find themselves trapped and vulnerable in Greenwood High School (翠華中學), which is located in a remote mountainous area. The place they once knew has changed in unsettling ways, haunted by evil creatures known as the "lingered" (魍魎). While hiding from the rampaging monsters, the protagonists unveil mysteries which slowly reveal the dark past of the cursed school.
Detention is a horror adventure video game created and developed by Taiwanese game developer Red Candle Games for Steam. It is a 2D atmospheric horror side-scroller set in 1960s Taiwan under martial law. The game also incorporates religious elements based on Taiwanese culture and mythology. The game was released on 13 January 2017. A demo version was released on Steam Greenlight on 13 June 2016.
The concept of the game originates with the Red Candle Games co-founder Shun-ting "Coffee" Yao. In February 2017, a novel based on the game was published by novelist Ling Jing. A live action film adaptation distributed by Warner Bros. Taiwan was released on 20 September 2019.

2. Layers of Fear
Tumblr media
The player takes control of an artist who has returned to his studio. His initial goal is to complete his masterpiece, and the player's role is to figure out how this task should be accomplished. The challenge comes from puzzles which require the player to search the environment for visual clues. The house appears straightforward at first, but it changes around the player as they explore it in first person. These changes in the environment provide scaffolding for the puzzles and provide regular jump scares common to games of this genre.
The game is divided into six chapters with various items for the player to find in order to complete his work. The game is heavily dimmed, and there are objects that uncover certain aspects of the painter's history. While completing the painting, there is a letter that is slowly pieced together, which shows the origin of his masterpiece, and objects which explain the secret of the painter through dialogue flashbacks.
Layers of Fear is a psychological horror video game developed by Bloober Team and published by Aspyr. It was released on Linux, Microsoft Windows, OS X, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One worldwide in February 2016.
In Layers of Fear, the player controls a psychologically disturbed painter who is trying to complete his magnum opus as he navigates a Victorian mansion revealing secrets about his past. The gameplay, presented in first-person perspective, is story-driven and revolves around puzzle-solving and exploration. Layers of Fear: Inheritance was released on 2 August 2016 as a direct follow up add-on to the first game. This time the player controls the painter's daughter with the downloadable content focusing on her apparent relapse into trauma after returning to her old house.
A definitive port for the Nintendo Switch, entitled Layers of Fear: Legacy, was released on 21 February 2018 and it features, in addition to the Inheritance DLC, Joy-Con, touchscreen, and HD Rumble support. A limited physical retail release for the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4, published by Limited Run Games in North America, would be available starting October 2018. A sequel titled Layers of Fear 2 was announced in October 2018 and was released on May 29, 2019.

3. The Blackout Club
Tumblr media
You are a teenager from a small, modern town. Each morning, you awaken covered in mud or scratches, with no memory of the night before. You've heard of sleepwalking - but this is different. Sometimes you lose entire days.
There are others like you. Your new group of friends bonded over this shared secret, forming a club to investigate the cause of these BLACKOUTS. Together, you discovered a network of bizarre underground tunnels, hidden just beneath the surface of your quiet community. An uncanny, disorienting music beckoned from below.
You hesitated. But last night, your best friend vanished - and now, a mysterious group of adults wants to eliminate you. You must strike back, capture their activities on camera and expose them to the world.
The Blackout Club is a first-person co-op horror game centered around a group of teenage friends investigating a monstrous secret beneath the skin of their small town. 1-4 players explore procedurally-generated missions against a fearsome enemy you can only see with your eyes closed.
The developers describe the content like this:
There is violence in the game where players or enemies might use tranquilizer darts or electric stun guns on another human. Although there is no excessive violence or gore in this game, there are scenes with blood and evidence of crimes such as kidnapping and murder. It should be noted that the player characters and their allies are teenagers. Players are not allowed to injure or hurt another teenager, but the game does depict teens in situations of peril.
Tumblr media
4. Cry of Fear
Tumblr media
The player controls Simon Henriksson, a 19‑year‑old who wakes up in an alley shortly after being hit by a car. The player must navigate the city solving puzzles and fighting monsters to progress. The game switches between normal gameplay levels representing the city and surrounding areas, and "nightmare" levels, similar to those found in the Silent Hill series of games.
Cry of Fear features many unique mechanics, such as the limited inventory system, which allows the player to carry only 6 items at a time and does not pause the game while the inventory screen is open. Another unique mechanic is the ability to dual-wield inventory items, allowing the use of two weapons at a time, or one weapon and a light source. Item combination is also possible from the inventory screen. Health is recovered by the use of morphine syringes, which can blur the player's vision if overused. Stamina is consumed through strenuous actions such as running and jumping, and can be recovered by resting or the use of morphine syringes.
Some days before Cry of Fear's anniversary, Valve released a Half-Life update for Linux compatibility, making changes in the folders and engine. This update made several Half-Life mods, including Cry of Fear, incompatible with the base game. Team Psykskallar decided that, since no more could be done for the mod itself, they would finish a standalone version. Confusion due to Valve regarding Cry of Fear's status as freeware caused the game to be delayed until April 25, 2013.

Consequently, he wakes up at his school desk in the middle of the night and finds that there is more to Sehwa High than he thought.
The Coma: Cutting Class is a 2D survival-horror video game developed and published by Devespresso Games. It was released on October 19, 2015. It follows the story of Youngho Choi as he explores the mystery behind the abandoned Sehwa High school.

6. The Park
Tumblr media
The game follows Lorraine, a struggling single mother and widow with a troubled past, as she searches for her young son, Callum, who goes missing in Atlantic Island Park. Lorraine enters the park after her son just as the park prepares to close for the afternoon, only to find that nighttime comes unnaturally fast as she ascends the escalator and discovers the park to be abandoned, vandalized and rundown as if several years have passed. Despite abandonment, the rides and lights mysteriously still function. Lorraine calls for Callum and his voice calls to her, leading her through the decrepit park.
Lorraine boards several rides which reveal the themes and backstory of the game: the Tunnel of Tales tells the story of Hansel and Gretel, this time with a new ending - in which after cooking the witch in the oven, Hansel and Gretel devour her. On the Ferris Wheel, Lorraine remembers Callum's father Don, a construction worker at the park who died in a fall from the Ferris Wheel when Lorraine was still pregnant with Callum. Between rides, Lorraine expresses her frustration with Callum, her belief that she is a failure as a mother, her history of mental health problems, and her fear that Callum is becoming changed by some mysterious threat. However, while aboard the roller coaster, a monstrous top-hatted ringmaster (identified in the credits as The Boogeyman) accosts Lorraine and claims 'the Witch' has her son.
The Park is a first-person psychological horror adventure game developed and published by Funcom. The game was released for Microsoft Windows via Steam on October 27, 2015 and is a spin-off of an earlier Funcom game, The Secret World. It was released for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on May 3, 2016 and Nintendo Switch on October 22, 2019. It will be released in Japan on September 24, 2020. The game takes place in the Atlantic Island Park that closed back in the year of 1980 for mysterious reasons that are gradually revealed throughout the game.
The Park is experienced from a first-person perspective as the player, Lorraine, interacts with and experiences the decrepit environment of Atlantic Island Park. There is no combat or defense and the player has no health HUD as Lorraine can only interact with limited objects in-game and there are no enemies to battle. These objects mostly consist of pages that reveal the backstory of the park and later, Lorraine. Lorraine can call out to character Callum at any time during gameplay, and this may have a small affect as it allows Lorraine to follow Callum's voice and thus continue the narrative of the story or to reach necessary areas or objectives within the park such as the rides. The rides act as both exposition and scares. To enter the House of Horrors, Lorraine must find a flashlight. Throughout the game, Lorraine narrates her feelings and memories to the player.

7. Mad Father
Tumblr media
Mad Father takes place in northern Germany, where the 11-year old protagonist, Aya Drevis, lives with her father, Alfred Drevis, and their maid Maria. Aya is a shy girl who never goes outside. Her mother, Monika Drevis, was incredibly ill, and presumably died of illness before the occurrence of the game. Her father performs secret research in his laboratory in the house's basement, with the assistance of Maria. Aya is aware that Alfred experiments and kills humans in the basement, as well as the fact that he is involved in an extramarital affair with the younger Maria, a former homeless woman he had taken off the street some years prior.
On the anniversary of Monika's death, the very beginning of the game, Aya awakens at midnight to find herself surrounded by test subjects that escaped from the laboratory. Fleeing back into her room, Aya encounters the mysterious salesman Ogre, who offers her the task of solving puzzles to break into her father's laboratory and uncover his secret. Aya discovers that her father had intended to perform taxidermy on her and convert her into a doll, as he had done to numerous other children, having been enamored with preserving humans after having killed his own mother as a youth. Aya soon discovers that her father killed her mother in fear of her mother taking Aya away to prevent him from performing taxidermy on her.
The game has three endings based on the player's choices. In one ending, Aya allows her undead mother to take her father away to another world. After returning to the real world, she runs into Maria, who knocks her out, takes her to the basement and then kills her, turning her corpse into a doll. In the second ending, Aya saves her father from being taken by her mother's spirit. However, after doing so, Monika reveals to Aya that Alfred murdered her for one of his experiments. Horrified, Aya flees while being chased by a chainsaw-wielding Alfred. While attempting to escape, she runs into Maria. Maria attempts to follow her, but when she fails to capture her, Maria is attacked by Alfred. The game then branches into two endings depending on Aya's actions; if Aya neglects to help Maria and instead attempts to escape the mansion, she is found by her father and killed, with Alfred performing taxidermy on her corpse and rendering her into one of his dolls. In the true ending, Aya helps Maria, declaring that the two shall henceforth live together. Maria then kills Alfred and the two women leave the mansion, which is burned down by Dio, the spirit of one of Alfred's human test subjects.
As the house burns down, Ogre transports Alfred's spirit to another world, where he is free to experiment to his heart's content, creating a mature adult clone of his daughter, leading into the events of Misao. Meanwhile, while walking away from the burning mansion, Aya notices that her father's medical book has survived the blaze. Some years later, Aya and Maria have created a clinic, where they perform medical services free of charge. A poor woman named Jean Rooney arrives for an examination, and Aya uses anesthesia to render Jean unconscious, claiming that Jean will no longer suffer from her illnesses. In another room, Maria muses that Aya has become just like her father and that the tendencies run in the family, heavily implying that Aya has followed in her father's footsteps.

COMING OCTOBER 13, 2020 TO BLU-RAY™ & DIGITAL
NEW COLLECTION INCLUDES ACCLAIMED TITLES SGT. ROCK, ADAM STRANGE, DEATH AND THE PHANTOM STRANGER
Tumblr media
BURBANK, CA (July 30, 2020) – Five fascinating tales from the iconic DC canon, including the first interactive film presentation in Warner Bros. Home Entertainment (WBHE) history, come to animated life in DC Showcase – Batman: Death in the Family. Produced by Warner Bros. Animation and DC, the anthology of 2019-2020 animated shorts arrives from WBHE on Blu-ray and Digital starting October 13, 2020.
Anchoring the compilation of shorts is Batman: Death in the Family, WBHE’s first-ever venture into interactive storytelling that allows fans to choose where the story goes through an innovative navigation guided by the viewer’s remote control. Central to the extended-length short is an adaptation of “Batman: A Death in the Family,” the 1988 landmark DC event where fans voted by telephone to determine the story’s ending.
Inspired by characters and stories from DC’s robust portfolio, the 2019-2020 series of shorts – which have been individually included on DC Universe Movies releases since Summer 2019 – include; Sgt. Rock, Adam Strange, Death and The Phantom Stranger.
Tumblr media
DC Showcase – Batman: Death in the Family will be available on Blu-ray (USA $24.98 SRP) and Digital (19.99 SRP). The Blu-ray features a Blu-ray disc with all of the shorts in hi-definition, including the fully-interactive, extended-length Batman: Death in the Family, plus a digital version of the four other 2019-2020 DC Showcase shorts. The Digital distribution features the Batman: Death in the Family extended-length short in a non-interactive format (pre-assembled version of the story, entitled Under the Red Hood: Reloaded), along with the other four 2019-2020 DC Showcase shorts, and three other non-interactive versions of the Batman: Death in the Family (entitled Jason Todd’s Rebellion, Robin’s Revenge and Red Hood’s Reckoning) as bonus features (Note: not all Digital retailers offer bonus features with purchase). The Blu-ray also offers approximately five minutes of additional content within the Batman: Death in the Family story that is not included in the Digital version.
Tumblr media
Produced, directed and written by Brandon Vietti, Batman: Death in the Family offers an inventive take on the long-demanded story. In the new animated presentation, the infamous murder of Batman protégé Jason Todd will be undone, and the destinies of Batman, Robin and The Joker will play out in shocking new ways as viewers make multiple choices to control the story. And while Batman: Under the Red Hood provides a baseline, the story also branches in new directions and features several characters previously unseen in the original film. Bruce Greenwood (The Resident, Star Trek, iRobot), Vincent Martella (Phineas and Ferb) and John DiMaggio (Futurama, Adventure Time) reprise their Batman: Under The Red Hood roles of Batman, young Jason Todd and The Joker, respectively. Other featured voices are Zehra Fazal (Young Justice) as Talia al Ghul and Gary Cole (Veep) as Two-Face and James Gordon.
“Batman: Death in the Family is essentially a comic book come to life,” says Vietti, whose DC Universe Movies directing credits include Batman: Under the Red Hood and Superman: Doomsday, and he is co-creator and co-executive producer of the popular Young Justice animated television series. “We’ve paid homage to the 1988 interactive experience of DC’s ‘A Death in the Family’ comics release by giving fans a unique opportunity to craft their own story through a branching tool that can lead in multiple directions. The viewer gets to choose these characters’ paths, and each choice paves an alternate future for all of the characters and, ultimately, the story.”
Tumblr media
The interactive Blu-ray presentation offers many different ways for viewers to tell the Batman: Death in the Family story, with numerous twists and turns in the middle, and several possible endings. The choices along the way put greater weight on the viewers’ decisions and result in even stronger stories. Viewers can also choose to allow the story to tell itself, as there is an option to let the Blu-ray decide its own path.
Packed with Easter Eggs, the centerpiece short’s story – with its foundation grounded in the original “Batman: A Death in the Family” comic run, and the acclaimed Batman: Under the Red Hood animated film – balances a number of integral themes within its entertainment, including fatherhood, mental health, death, rebirth, revenge and redemption. Along the route, viewers encounter new, surprising looks at some classic DC characters.
“From the very first navigation card, we wanted to give the audience an impression of what they’re getting into, but then also give them something unexpected – maybe even something they’ll regret, so they have to think twice about every future choice they make,” Vietti explains. “Branched storytelling has to be stronger than just the gimmick of the choices – it has to be rewarding and offer new and worthwhile insights into the characters. It needs to involve you, and keep you searching for the next twist. So we sought to subvert expectations and do something very different.”
Tumblr media
Beyond Batman: Death in the Family, the additional four shorts on Blu-ray & Digital are:
Originally attached to Batman: Hush, Sgt. Rock is executive produced and directed by Bruce Timm (Batman: The Animated Series) from a script by award-winning comics writers Louise Simonson & Walter Simonson and Tim Sheridan (Superman: Man of Tomorrow, Reign of the Supermen). The original tale finds battle-weary Sgt. Rock thinking he has seen everything that World War II can dish out. But he is in for the surprise of his life when he is assigned to lead a company consisting of legendary monsters into battle against an unstoppable platoon of Nazi zombies. Karl Urban (Star Trek & Lord of the Rings film franchises) provides the voice of Sgt. Rock. Also voicing characters in Sgt. Rock are Keith Ferguson, William Salyers and Audrey Wasilewski.
Inspired by Neil Gaiman’s “The Sandman,” Death is produced & directed by Sam Liu (Superman: Red Son, The Death of Superman) and written by J.M. DeMatteis (Batman: Bad Blood). In the story, Vincent, an artist with unresolved inner demons, meets a mysterious girl who helps him come to terms with his creative legacy … and eventual death. Leonard Nam (Westworld) provides the voice of Vincent, and Jamie Chung (The Gifted, Big Hero 6) is the voice of Death. The cast includes Darin De Paul, Keith Szarabajka and Kari Wahlgren. Death was originally included with Wonder Woman: Bloodlines.
Tumblr media
Attached as a bonus feature on the release of Superman: Red Son, The Phantom Stranger has Bruce Timm (Batman: The Killing Joke) at the helm as executive producer & director, and the short is written by Ernie Altbacker (Justice League Dark: Apokolips War, Batman: Hush). Set in the 1970s, the short find the enigmatic DC mystery man simultaneously playing both omniscient narrator and active character in a story of supernatural comeuppance for evil doers. Peter Serafinowicz (The Tick) gives voice to The Phantom Stranger, and Michael Rosenbaum (Smallville, Impastor) provides the voice of Seth. The Phantom Stranger also features the voices of Natalie Lander, Grey Griffin and Roger Craig Smith.
Adam Strange is produced and directed by Butch Lukic (Superman: Man of Tomorrow), who also conceived the original story – which is written by J.M. DeMatteis (Deathstroke: Knights & Dragons, Constantine: City of Demons). The short was initially attached to Justice League Dark: Apokolips War. On a rugged asteroid mining colony, few of the toiling workers are aware that their town drunk was ever anything but an interplanetary derelict.
