Scarian is the classic <3 ive only written them once for a friend and it took me… months… got stuck on one scene and avoided it for ages (and then got into taurtis x grian but that’s another story)

Cub and Scar being brotherly and inseparable is soo <3333 everything to me. Have you read “closer to another shore”? Oh my god. Changed my life. And scar and Cub within that book… absolute peak. Devoured it twice over and once more on top of that. Very much recommend if you want to tear your own heart out and crush grian like a bug!

I have this whole scale AU for Scarian that I'll write one day. it's bound to be my hardst work yet (yeah including the historial research and mapping nightmare that is Dealing Despair), because Splinter is one of those fics you have to plan every single scene out to make it all come together in the end.

My goal with Splinter) whenever I get around to writing it, it is to have like a fraction of coolness Birrdie's as above, so below has?? It's still one of my favorite fics of all time and I strive to write an AU like that one day. Splinter isnt the same thing? it's like a past life kind of thing, but the part im trying to emulate from aasb is the "oh something is happening here...I am scared of it" vibe.

Eitherway, if you want a good Grian fic (with some Scarian) THATS the fic. This is the fic I give to all my friends new to the fandom/to fanfiction. I shove aasb and Dirges in the Dark at them because those are the two fanfics I want on my shelf YESTERDAY. Like physical copies. (I am working on that actually....)

you may have already answered this but im obsessed with your ocs so: what kind of music do they all listen to? what's their relationships with music in general?

GREAT question. it's taken me a couple days to answer because i was like "this is probably not going to be surprising to anyone," but hey. we love character consistency. and i will use this as an excuse to plug some artists i like!

nova is the only one whose music taste does not overlap with my own at All. she's an EDM girlie through and through. the thumping bass is stimmy for her. the louder the better. unfortunately i do not have good EDM recs because my own autism recoils from it LMAO

ruby likes traditional music from home. lots of fiddle, lots of clapping, lots of singing. the kind of music you find going into a pub during a jam session. i also like to think her parents are musicians who met through their love of music... one group i really love is afro-celt sound system, which combines west african drums with celtic fiddle. i picture her parents' music sounding like this since she has a fantasy nigerian dad and fantasy irish mum. also, i imagine she listens to fantasy raidió na gaeltachta whenever she's alone. even though it makes her so homesick she feels like she's gonna throw up.

i think devin would LOVE shit like fire from the gods. really angry political rap metal. devin likes music loud and furious. anti-establishment vibes are Technically legal in tachni (as long as they don't "incite violence"), so. this type of band Absolutely exists.

i think it would be cathartic Especially because devin has the rageful nazi-punching instincts of the best angry metal frontwomen, but has been given a life where she's basically being forced at gunpoint to be an american senator. Harrowing .

sol is the only one who Might be surprising.... i think she mostly listens to soft, sometimes-emotional piano. she wants everything to be quiet forever & i don't think she'd get much out of angry music. i like to picture her listening to stuff like this gorgeous piece by elijah brossenbroek. he's one of my favorite favorite Favorite composers of All Time. i actually bought a book of his pieces for my sister to learn years ago & he was very kind in the emails we exchanged!

Road Trip from Hell (Reader, Damon, Caroline, and Klaus)

A simple road trip to New Orleans turns into absolute chaos when Damon refuses to follow directions, Caroline tries to keep the peace, Klaus keeps making sarcastic comments from the back seat, and you’re the only one who actually knows how to read a map.

It was supposed to be a simple road trip. A straight shot from Mystic Falls to New Orleans. No detours. No distractions. No disasters. But that plan flew out the window the moment Damon decided he was the best person to drive.

"GPS is for amateurs," he smirked, ignoring the blinking route on the screen. "Real men trust their instincts."

"Real men also don’t get us lost in Georgia when we’re supposed to be going southwest," you muttered from the passenger seat, clutching the crumpled map like it was the only anchor to sanity in the car.

From the back seat, Klaus gave a low chuckle. "This is delightful. I haven’t been this entertained since the French Revolution."

Caroline, stuck in the middle between a murderous Original and a reckless Salvatore, was already on her third attempt to play peacemaker. "Can we please just follow the map? It’s literally printed with directions."

Damon waved her off. "It’s just a suggestion."

"It’s not a suggestion if it’s the only thing keeping us from ending up in a ditch, Damon," you snapped.

Another wrong turn. Another heavy sigh from you. Yet another overly amused remark from Klaus.

"If he takes one more exit labeled ‘Scenic Route,’ I may compel him to walk the rest of the way," Klaus drawled, resting his head back, utterly unfazed.

Caroline turned to you with pleading eyes. "Please tell me you know where we are."

You pointed at the map. "If we don’t die of dehydration or each other, we might make it to New Orleans by tomorrow morning."

Damon flashed a grin. "See? Adventure builds character."

Klaus hummed thoughtfully. "So does trauma."

The tension in the car thickened with every passing hour. Damon insisted on choosing every pit stop: a suspicious roadside diner with a neon sign that flickered like it was about to short-circuit, a gas station that looked abandoned until a toothless man emerged with a shotgun and a smile, and a bizarre detour into a county fair where Klaus disappeared for an hour and returned with cotton candy and blood on his sleeve.

"Don’t ask," he said with a wink when Caroline noticed. She turned a shade paler than usual, clutching her purse like a lifeline.

As if things weren’t already spiraling, the radio only played static unless Damon hit it just right—then it screeched into heavy metal or country breakup songs. There was no in-between. At some point, you gave up and opened the window, hoping the fresh air would stop the incoming headache.

Nightfall came, and still, Damon refused to admit he was lost. You were running out of snacks, patience, and phone battery. Caroline, bless her overly optimistic heart, kept trying to organize a new route using her nearly-dead phone, but Google Maps had apparently given up too.

"We passed that tree before," you said, your voice dry with exhaustion.

"You can’t prove that," Damon shot back, eyes on the road, smirk in place.

"It has a face painted on it. In red. I think we can prove it."

Klaus, clearly enjoying the spiral, chimed in again. "Perhaps it’s fate. Maybe we’re meant to perish together in the wilds of the South."

Caroline groaned. "Okay, enough! I’m putting my foot down. Damon, pull over. We’re switching drivers."

He raised an eyebrow but kept driving. You reached for the steering wheel.

"Touch that wheel, and I swear—"

"What? You’ll get us lost in another state?" you challenged.

The car swerved slightly, but Damon grudgingly pulled over. You threw open the door, walked around, and yanked open his.

"Move."

Klaus clapped slowly from the back seat. "Bravo. The only sensible one among us."

Once you slid behind the wheel, peace—tenuous as it was—settled over the car. Caroline exhaled like she hadn’t breathed in two hours. Damon sulked in the passenger seat like a grounded teenager.

"Now," you said, eyes on the road, hands on the wheel, "we follow the actual directions. No shortcuts. No scenic routes. No distractions."

"Where’s the fun in that?" Damon grumbled.

"In making it there alive," Caroline and you said in unison.

Klaus chuckled. "Well, this just got less fun. But considerably safer."

As you finally merged onto the correct highway, the city lights of New Orleans shimmering faintly in the distance, there was a collective sigh of relief. And then the tire pressure light came on.

"You’ve got to be kidding me," you muttered.

Klaus laughed. Damon cursed. Caroline reached for the last protein bar and broke it into three pieces.

"If the car explodes, I just want it on record that I voted for flying," Caroline mumbled.

Chaos, as always, wasn’t far behind.

If you want to get into Enstars lore...

With the upcoming prsk collab, I'm sure it's attracting people genuinely interested in learning Enstars lore. (Or if you're someone who's been playing Enstars but hasn't been engaging in the lore) In that case, do NOT start with the Reminiscence series, but instead, I highly recommend to read the Main Story first before anything else. You can read it through the English server, BUT if you want to know the very start of Enstars lore, read Basic/! era Main Story. (However, the unfortunate side is that Enstars doesn't really allow fan translations...)

You'd see people recommending stories from the Reminiscence series (Checkmate, Crossroad, Element, Marionette, Meteor Impact, Obligatto, etc.), but I highly advise to NOT read them if it's your first time learning Enstars lore — this was my mistake when I was a new fan lol. But if you do already know tidbits about Trickstar and Jin & Akiomi, then I do recommend reading their Reminiscence stories, which are Rocket Start and Guilty of Perjury respectively since it mainly tells their formation and initial dynamic with each other. The other Reminiscence stories I mentioned deal with heavy topics and require knowledge from ! era Main Story, so I really advise reading those first. It would give you a wrong impression of the characters (which is why I didn't like Shu and Eichi when I was new because my introduction to them was through Marionette💔 I'm a big ValkyrieP now though and i also love fine!)
