#reflekdoll mention
Note
Maybe I'm missing something, but your pretenstion review you mentioned Ladybug de-evilizing amoks and it made me think, why does ladybug have to de-evilize the amoks anyway? All the sentis ladybug hasn't de-evilized didn't cause any problems later on unlike the akuma from origins who the multiplied and all that. If Ladybug hadn't de-evilized, let's say reflekdoll, what if the amok weren't de-evilized? would she have spawned again like stoneheart? Then why didn't other non-de-evilized sentis like Ladybug or red moon spawn again?
The obvious answer would be inconsistency and illogical lore , I just think it's so funny how the show tries to made a point that sentis deserve rights and all that, but the de-evilizing thing also sort of implies that senti beings are "evil". And even if one argues that the ones from Monarch are evil and those from argos aren't, there is no real difference bewteen them other than who created them. They're still unanatonomous beings controlled by an object. Besides, I think the ladybug one from mayura wasn't de-evilized and that didn't cause problems.
... Idk I'm probably thinking too much about it or miss something obvious, I just wanted to share my thoughts.
The thing is that, even though the show tries to about how Sentimonsters are just as alive as human beings, it tends to ignore why people are so opposed to Sentimonsters in the first place.
For two seasons, both Nathalie and Gabriel used the Peacock Miraculous to create Sentimonsters who were specifically designed to cause as much damage as possible (Heroes' Day, Reflekdoll, Miraculer, Ladybug, Miracle Queen, Truth, Queen Banana, Mega Leech, Guiltrip, Kuro Neko, Strikeback), and none of those incidents are ever mentioned. Even in "Emotion", the episode meant to make us sympathize with Felix, it only gave us more reasons to fear Sentimonsters because a single one created by a pissed off teenager nearly exterminated the human race. Clearly, this is the best person to teach us that Sentimonsters aren't all evil.
Other than Adrien, Felix, and Kagami, we never really see any instances of humans and Sentimonsters coexisting because, like you said, during Seasons 3 and 4, Ladybug de-evilized their Amoks and treated them as disposable minions for Mayura and Shadowmoth, and the two instances where it could have happened, they were instantly snapped away and nobody really seemed to care (Ladybug, Sentibubbler).
Intentional or not, the show presents us with an interesting moral dilemma it refuses to take advantage of: Should the heroes allow Felix to use the Peacock Miraculous to create more Sentimonsters that could possibly endanger innocent lives, or take away the Peacock while ignoring the potential the Sentimonsters have to help us by working together with humanity?

Little random game: name the eps you most hate and most love of each miraculous season and explain why
Hmm, there's not many episodes I'd say I hate, but my favorites and least favorites of each season are as follows:
Season 1:
Favorite: Origins -I don't care if this is technically two episodes, I loved seeing the origins of how the children met and how everything went down. The beginning of LadyNoir and oh my gosh we got such good LadyNoir moments here.
Least Favorite: Reflekta -Honestly looking through season 1 there really isn't any that stands out as a least favorite for me. So I chose Reflekta solely because this episode is the start of the curse of the many Reflekta akumatizations to come. xD
---
Season 2:
Favorite: Heroes' Day -I had to put this one as my favorite just on the premise that I feel that Heroes' Day is the best final/two parter we've had in the entire series. I loved everyone's role in these episodes, and of course we get to see Nathalie being an absolute queen as well.
Least Favorite: Frozer -Eh. Just an episode that's never stood out to me. Forgettable in the long run.
---
Season 3:
Favorite: Chat Blanc -Favorite episode of the season? More like my favorite episode ever! The angst. The feels. Chat Blanc's hurt and rage. Chat Blanc's design. It's all so beautiful the only change I'd make is making it a two parter and maybe adding a LadyBlanc kiss. But those changes aren't even needed because it's wonderful as is. 11/10. -Gamer 2.0, Oblivio, and Reflekdoll are honorable mentions. For the adorable LadyNoir moments, adorable Lovesquare moments via memory loss, and kwami swap! Season 3 is probably my favorite season overall.
Least Favorite: Christmaster -Just another episode that's never stood out to me. Plot wise it felt mid, and I can't see myself going back to rewatch it or basing a fic on it. Or including it in a fic. -Honorable mention of Miracle Queen though, as this used to be my least favorite of the season. I was really on board for a Chloe redemption when season three ended so this episode kind of stung (hehe) then, but nowadays I don't have the same issues with it.
---
Season 4:
Favorite: Qilin Least Favorite: Qilin
-Ha! Didn't see this coming, did you? I love love loved so much of Qilin. I loved the themes it addresses, Marinette and Sabine's relationship, the design of the akuma, it was all so good... until the very end!! They let Marinette take the blame when the real problem was racism?? I hate you ticket dude. And also bus driver dude you saw Sabine with her tickets and she literally gave you baked goods and you said nothing when she was taken away? Why???
And if you don't accept one episode being both the favorite and least favorite, then here are my thoughts on other episodes of the season: -I love the setup of Truth and Lies and would love more episodes focusing solely on Adrien. -Guiltrip when Chat Noir almost Catalcysms himself hurts me on a physical level someone give Adrien a hug. -I will forever live for the Plagg and Adrien moments in Kuro Neko.
Season 5:
Favorite: Evolution -Season 5 has a lot of plot-heavy focused episodes, which I always love to get. We got canon Adrinette, Gabriel getting Cataclysmed, awesome lore... but in the end I still think it's this first episode that's my favorite. I loved the action, how it picks right up at the end of season four, and also Rabbit Noir had such an awesome design too. I liked seeing Master Fu again, and the role Alix got to play. Gabriel got his good Monarch design with the stained glass look. Also timetravel can be tricky to write, and they pulled it off well.
Least Favorite: Action -After a whole season of the most plot-heavy episodes yet with a lot happening emotionally... Action has very little action is the way of plot or even as good “filler”.
Specials:
Favorite: Miraculous Paris -Gah honestly I think this is one of the very best episodes in all the show. Fantastic writing, great characterization, a fun adventure and seeing the alternate universe was fascinating. I love Shadybug and Claw Noir. Hesperia was awesome (I refuse to call him Betterfly). I have so many questions about the other world and who the Supreme is. Gabriel singing the intro. I could go on all day.
Least Favorite: ...idk -I mean there's only three specials thus far, and honestly I can't rank the Shanghai or the New York special as the lowest.
Movies: -Jk we only have one. xD But with how movie one ended with Nathalie I'm excited to see what they might do with this universe in the future.

Your reblog about the senti thing make me LOLing so hard because of the senti defender when shoved a fact that contradict their theory mostly act like "Yeah, I didn't think that far" except they never said it out loud!
I remember when s4 still airing and these senti defender said "senti lives matter!" But whenever I ask, "what about that lolipop thing? Feast? Senti Moth?" They always said "They don't have the same level of intelligence as senti human, probably only at the level of animal"
So basically they said it's ok to kill a senti as long as they either don't looks like human or they have low intelligence. This came from the same people who preach that sentimonster is a good methapor for abuse or disabilities.
In the end it boil down to "if hero kill it, it's good but if villain kill it, it's bad" double standard and I couldn't even fathom what so good about the whole sentimonster!human thing except to make an obedient puppet.
"Yeah, hope Chat can have a upgrade power that could destroy the connection between amok and the senti" they said. Except he already did. TA said in his tweet the reason why Reflekdoll or any senti that gone berserk due to the cataclysm is /exactly/ because the connection was destroyed. It didn't free them, it make them berserk. And ironically, this tweet also what make people think the reason why Chat Blanc is so feral is because half of his amok got destroyed, instead of the long isolation and guilt that eat him.
Also a so called child psychologist preach the whole sentimonster is good methapor for abuse thing make me facepalmed, hard. Why need methapor if it's so obvious? Is miraculous going to put on disclaimer : Attention, no real child is being harmed here. Why take the whole abuse theme if they're not going to do it correctly? Who the heck approved this kind of theme??
Sorry for the long rant and thank you for reading my incoherent rant.
Tumblr media
You said it, anon.
The Sentimonster theory is a shitty metaphor for abuse or disability. What it says to me is that if your disability isn't convenient or "normal," then you don't matter. Hence the "human" Sentimonsters like Adrien, Felix and Kagami who can fit into society are accepted, but the other Sentimonsters are disposable, despite them having the same amount of sentience and life as any of the human ones.
So Senti lives matter, but only if they're a particular type of Senti. If not, then they're not really alive and can be disposed of without a single thought spared to them (even though that's not true, because Felix treated Red Sun like a sister, and Feast, Sentibubbler, etc. clearly had emotions). Which means... only socially acceptable Senti rights matter. The rest of them only exist to be killed by the heroes. The heroes get to decide which Sentis matter and which ones don't, and the only ones that matter to them are the ones that look like them.
And like... if you're going to have an arc about making us understand that these creatures are just like us and have a life and emotions of their own, then don't create classes and divisions between them from the get-go. Don't portray some of them as more worthy than the others. Nothing in the show suggests that the creation of Adrien, Felix or Kagami was in any way different from the creation of Feast or any other Sentimonster. The argument that they are different because they were created to be humans is also bogus, because of Sentibug. She was created not to be a human, but to be a copy of Ladybug, yet she still had free will. All the justifications for this theory fall apart if we think about it for more than 5 seconds.
And the whole Chat Blanc thing you mentioned is part of a larger problem in this fandom, which involves attributing common reactions to abuse in abuse victims to them being artificially created beings. Adrien listens too much to his father? It must be because he's a Sentimonster and is being controlled, not because Gabriel has conditioned him to be subservient to him all his life! They are literally saying victims of abuse and their reactions to abuse are "unnatural," and can only happen if they weren't human at all. I despise this implication, especially since the show doubled down on it.
And it's not like this was a necessary writing choice. What does Adrien being a Sentimonster contribute to his's character? What did the revelation that he's being mind-controlled help us understand about him? What new facet to his character did we learn about? Nothing, really. There is no exploration of what Adrien being a Sentimonster means for him. He doesn't even find out about it. The only reason Adrien became a Sentimonster is so that the writers could justify leaving him out of the finale and so that they could have an obstacle for Adrienette. And I will say, introducing the whole "Sentimonsters deserve free-will" plot point and then using the characters' Senti status as an excuse to deprive them of agency in their own battles is... certainly a choice.
The Sentimonster theory isn't this groundbreaking exploration of the concept of humanity and free-will, nor is it this subversive metaphor for something that was already being portrayed blatantly in the show. It's something the writers used as a plot device to justify removing the three most plot relevant characters from the story so that Marinette could have the finale to herself. That's it. There's nothing more to it than that.
Which is why the concept is so poorly developed. The whole Senti rights thing is brought for about five minutes in Emotion and maybe two minutes in Pretension. After this, Felix, the main advocate for Senti rights himself falls back on all his ideals and creates a Sentimonster to use and then kill. The heroes have spent three seasons killing these livings creatures without a single care in the world. The moral implications of this are never questioned in any way, even though the show pretends it's presenting this thoughtful and nuanced commentary on the matter. No one cares about Sentimonsters. Sentibug is presented as this big deal, but they don't think about her for more than five seconds and then she is never brought up again. Sentimonsters do not matter in this show. Not to the villains, not to the heroes, not even those who start of advocating for them stick to that cause. The narrative doesn't care about Sentimonsters. Any justification made for it just paints in a worse light. It's a shitty metaphor for anything, and it's just a shitty plot point in general.
Thank you for your ask!

How would you rank the seasons of Miraculous Ladybug?
Buckle up, everyone. Let's do this:
Tumblr media
Season 1 - 8/10
I won't lie. The show actually started out pretty good in Season 1. We had unique ideas, a fresh take on the typical love interests you see in these shows, and a whole range of diverse and interesting characters who got their own spotlight episodes. It was where the show shined the best with what it had, so to speak. It did fumble toward the end with Lila's rather messy entrance. But again, I can't blame Ladybug for blowing up like she did.
Could she have handled it better? Of course. Heck, this could have been a plot line where Ladybug has to address the issue of lying through someone who doesn't have any problem lying through her teeth.
Unfortunately, that's not what we got.
Tumblr media
Season 2 - 7.5/10
One less half-point for underdelivering on their promises. In our defense, we had no idea what we were in for past Season 2. We got new characters like Luka, who gave characters like Juleka more beyond their archetype. The reveal that Gabriel was Hawk Moth was something we all saw coming, but it set up an amazing conflict for later down the road.
It was also the season where the earliest red flags were being flown.
To be fair, since the show was still, in a sense, "starting out", we gave it the benefit of the doubt. The biggest contention was, naturally, how they handled Chloé Bourgeois.
Put simply, Chloé had potential for an incredible Zuko-style redemption story. Between her mother Audrey abandoning her to pursue her career, along with virtually every adult figure in her life failing her, we could have had an amazing drama where the school bully was forced to confront her worst self and aim to become better. To deserve the Bee Miraculous.
What we got instead was the showrunners sabotaging themselves with how they handled her.
Tumblr media
Season 3 - 5/10
The season where it all started to go downhill, starting with the infamous opening episode Chameleon.
There's... no polite way to put it. Season 3 of the show was where the entire foundation, whatever little there was, started falling apart. Marinette suffered so much for so little in this season, it wasn't funny. Add onto other infamous episodes like Ladybug, Chat Blanc, Puppeteer 2, Reflekdoll, and Miracle Queen, it's become crystal clear the show is nothing more than a vanity project for the creator. And that was before we got the news they were underpaying their staff (take this with a grain of salt, it's been a while since I read that article).
It was also the season where we started to see the faults in the writing show. From Adrien/Chat Noir refusing to see anything past his nose to the frankly rather illegal handling of Marinette's expulsion to the Lila-centric episodes requiring brain-bending leaps of nonexistent logic. Aside from some rare cool moments (Nathalie fighting three akumas, anyone?), this season was more painful to watch.
Especially with that season finale where Marinette lost Fu.
Tumblr media
Seasons 4 & 5 - 2/10
I'm just gonna say it. I stopped watching anything from Miraculous Ladybug when I heard they were gonna akumatize Master Fu in Season 4. So my rating here is based mostly on hearsay from what happened in these two seasons lumped together.
Yes. These seasons pissed me off so much I just lumped them together and called it a day. The writing here is just painful to hear about. Who proofreads the scripts before sending it to the animation team? We have these things called quality checks for a reason.
Ranting aside, we've got more infamous episodes like Gang of Secrets and Derision. I've stated before that I will forever hate that first mentioned episode for how entitled everyone was towards Marinette's secrets. And Derision has to be one of the biggest cases of character assassination by the writing team I've ever seen. Kim isn't one of my favorites, I will admit. But even he didn't deserve the frankly awful backstory ruining what was once a fun (if something of a feather-brained bully) jock character.
Back on the topic of the first mentioned episode, Gang of Secrets was also the point of no return for me regarding Alya's character. Which is a huge shame since Marinette is in dire need of an actual support system instead of shouldering everything on her own. Anyone with half a brain after that would have figured out on their own the lying liar who lies was a lying liar who lies, pardon the repetition. Everything she did afterwards, such as her stint as Rena Furtive, just killed any chances of her undergoing redemption.
Tumblr media
Phew, that ended up being more longwinded than I intended. Hope that answers your question.

Remaking Miraculous Ladybug (Season 3)
Tumblr media
Welcome back! I hope you enjoyed my remakes of the previous seasons, and I hope you're ready for my wild take on season 3. As usual, I trimmed the fat and cut some episodes. Fair warning: The final episodes will leave you with some questions!
Tumblr media
Chameleon--Lila's lies are more simplistic now, due to the fact that she no longer has the fox miraculous to back up her lies, so they are much more difficult to call out. Some of the class starts grow suspicious of her when she flirts with Adrien after they tell her that he's possibly dating Kagami, but Lila maintains that she can't help her feelings and implies that she's just like Marinette, silencing them and making them feel conflicted. Marinette doesn't tell Alya and Nino about her issues with Lila, as it dates back to when Lila was able to use illusions, thus evading criticisms that she's jealous of Lila. Lila doesn't drop her facade around Marinette, pretending to have turned herself around after a terrible fight that she had with Ladybug, making her question whether or not she's genuine. Only Alya, Nino, Nathaniel, Marc, Chloe, Adrien, and Sabrina take Marinette's side on the issue, but Marinette starts to doubt herself. Chloe uses her social standing in the city to try and expose Lila's lies on different occasions, but her social standing in the class leads almost everyone to believe she's just being petty. Lila attempts to get close with Adrien, but finds Kagami and Luka harder to induct into her web of lies than the others. In the end, Lila masterfully maintains her lies, making it difficult for anyone to call her out. It's also revealed at the end that Lila anonymously receives instructions from Hawk Moth, who she is led to believe is friends with Gabriel Agreste.
Tumblr media
2. Animaestro--Luka and Juleka join Jagged Stone at the premiere, having produced, written, and recorded several songs along with Clara Nightingale. Marinette volunteers to help her parents genuinely rather than being there for Adrien, as the press has speculated that Adrien and Kagami are a couple. Chloe is less disruptive, trying to turn over a new leaf, though she is jealous of Kagami and Adrien being a couple. When Marinette asks her about Luka and Kim, Chloe disregards Kim as being nothing serious and goes after Luka, who greets her warmly due to her progress. However, Chloe mentions that she still has a chance with Adrien, as he and Kagami aren't official yet, inspiring Marinette to try to tell her feelings for him before it's too late. However, they aren't as petty with the sabotage, but try to subtly get Adrien alone at different times. Gabriel actually shows up to the premiere in person, excusing himself during the chaos to turn into Hawk Moth. Given that Thomas is based on Thomas Astruc, I'd enjoy him getting akumatized after getting into fights from Ladybug fans about how he wrote the film--it just feels poetic that way. Kitty Section performs the title track for the film, and the rest of the episode pans out the same, except Chloe joins the fight as Queen Bee.
Tumblr media
3. Reflekdoll--LOATHE as I am to cover repeat villains, I'll do so this time. Most of the episode is the same, but the discussion between Ladybug and Chat Noir isn't about hero/sidekick, but philosophical about destruction and creation, with Chat Noir being envious that Ladybug is called good luck, while Chat Noir is called bad luck, having seen someone shoo away a black cat earlier. Taking from "Bakerix," Marinette's paternal grandfather comes to visit, and they have a similar discussion about tradition and modern, with Marinette arguing that some traditional views (ie the superstition of ladybugs bringing good luck and black cats bringing bad luck) shouldn't affect how others are treated. Juleka and Luka's talk hints at a crush that Luka has on one of his friends, but Juleka promises to keep it a secret, and Luka inquires about Juleka's crush on Rose, but Juleka deflects, stating that she thinks Rose still has a crush on Prince Ali. Juleka's interest in being a model is also explored. Rather than trading Miraculous by chance, Adrien tells Master Fu about his insecurities, and he invites Ladybug and Chat Noir to trade miraculous as an exercise, though this happens before Reflekdoll, and they're unable to find each other when they need to trade back, turning into Lady Noir and Lord Beetle (because I can't stand Mister Bug). During this point, they realize that their skillsets aren't suitable for switching miraculous yet; Marinette doesn't hold back, causing destruction in Paris, and Adrien is too cautious to confidently use the Ladybug miraculous. However, due to the encouragement of Rose and Luka, as well as insight from two previous miraculous holders (Micazoyolin and Cyfnos, a Welsh black cat holder) they manage to temporarily get a grip on their new abiltiies. And perhaps have Marinette design a more unique fashion accessory/outfit, with Adrien saying he'd love to show it to his dad. Juleka and Rose also start to have a romance here. The rest of the episode plays out the same.
Tumblr media
4. Silencer--Very different, given that in my universe, Kitty Section is already a successful band. This episode focuses on Juleka, Luka, and the other two bandmates (since Ivan and Rose aren't part of them in this universe) discussing their next album (either a sophomore or junior album), and Juleka, thinking about how both she and Luka have been struggling with their feelings lately, thinks they should try making a concept album about someone whose trying to tell their crush their feelings and the rollercoaster of emotions that come with it. While the other bandmembers are on board, Luka is hesitant, as he hasn't reached a point where he's comfortable making an album about his current feelings. Bob Roth attempts to undercut the band by stating that as an independent band (as they're not signed under Jagged Stone's label, but he uses his influence to hype them up and get them attention), they can't go as far as if they were part of a major company. The band considers the financial assistance they could receive, and Marinette designs them cool costumes for their audition with the record label, though Bob Roth shows favoritism to Luka when he asks Luka to sing, and he sounds good. He attempts to rebrand the band with Luka as the lead singer, even going as far as offering to make him a solo artist, which Luka rejects. Before they leave, Bob Roth notices that Luka left behind his journal, which is full of musical material as well as mundane journal entry stuff--except for the parts where he discusses his crush on Adrien Agreste. Bob Roth attempts to blackmail Luka into a deal, stating that it would humiliate him and possibly put Adrien's star status in jeopardy if it's believed that he's cheating on Kagami, who the public believes is his girlfriend. This attempt backfires, as Luka goes along with it at first, but his anger and embarrassment can't be contained when he sees Bob Roth and XY berate Marinette's fashion skills. and he is akumatized into Silencer. Thus, Luka wants to protect Adrien as well as Marinette, and Kagami stands her ground to keep Silencer away from Adrien. Bob Roth reveals his corrupt intentions and is fired from the record label that he works at, and Adrien asks Luka about his feelings for him. Luka said he never wanted to enroach on Adrien's life and gives him a kiss on the cheek, leaving Adrien to process his feelings for another guy as well as his budding feelings for Luka and Kagami. And needless to say, Kitty Section decides to stay independent--at least for now.
Tumblr media
5. Oni-Chan--Adrien doesn't have a reason to distrust Lila since her lies haven't been disproven here, and she is invited into the Agreste estate by Gabriel himself rather than Lila lying about it. As Gabriel knows about the events of "Silencer," he advises Lila from trying to romance Adrien, who is in a turmoil of emotions. Kagami sees this as well and is conflicted, wanting to support him through his love triangle, but also wanting to be the one he picks. Luka, wanting to give Adrien his space, stops coming for music practice for a week. Lila is less obvious about her lies to Adrien and focuses on homework while subtly trying to get close to him, and Marinette isn't obsessed with breaking into Adrien's house to expose Lila. At this point, Gabriel has been mulling over inviting Marinette to be his protege, but Lila sabotages this by making Marinette sound like the stalker she was in the original show, resulting in him changing his mind. Kagami is frustrated even more in this version, and Gabriel has no issue with sending her after Lila when Lila goes against his wishes with Adrien. Kagami delves into slightly toxic territory, seeing Adrien as hers (even though they're not in a committed relationship) and someone she can save from loneliness, as he did for her, revealing that the idea that he'd care for anyone else would hurt her terribly. Chloe joins the fight as Queen Bee, almost revealing her identity to Adrien in order to impress him. Lila's lies are almost discovered thanks to Hawk Moth exposing her online and her magical horn, but Lila pivots by stating this was all a lie to try to akumatize her by making everyone hate her, which most of the class accepts. In a rush of concern for Kagami, Adrien decides to become official with her, crushing Marinette.
Tumblr media
6. Miraculer--The episode is very different. Given that no one knows Queen Bee's real identity, neither Lila nor Mayura try to persuade her to their side. Instead, Alya's curiosity of Ladybug and Chat Noir is growing. While she's cut them some slack, she still has criticisms of the fact that they haven't gotten closer to defeating Hawk Moth, and now they have to deal with Mayura. Lila gets under her skin, telling her that she hasn't even been smart about being a reporter: she should've been helping the heroes figure out who Hawk Moth is rather than trying to find out their identities. Alya realizes that she's right, and despite Nino trying to console her, she becomes akumatized into Miraculer. Much of the episode plays out the same, though it's Marinette who tricks her in a similar fashion to Chloe tricking Sabrina in the original. Sabrina helps Queen Bee against Mayura, but Sabrina lacking powers and superhuman strength/agility hinders them, allowing Mayura to get away. At the end of the episode, Marinette realizes Lila is a threat even without her powers, and ponders who she should give the fox miraculous to. It's also revealed that the reason Nino and Chloe haven't been constantly active heroes despite having permanent mriaculous is because Wayzz told Nino not to get involved unless absolutely necessary, as both of them could be caught and force dot reveal where Master Fu is. Following these events and seeing how upset Alya is, Marinette reveals to Alya that she is Ladybug--but that's all she shares.
Tumblr media
7. Desperada--Luka is still dealing with Adrien dating Kagami, though he does express happiness for him, and promises they can still be friends. Adrien attempts to ask him to continue teaching him music, saying he's ready to get vocal lessons, but Luka isn't ready for them to do one-on-one stuff again yet. He decides to take up his dad's offer to fill in for his guitarist, who he had a falling out with. After finding a way to get away from Luka to turn into Chat Noir, both he and Ladybug venture to Master Fu. Ladybug takes the fox miraculous and Chat Noir takes the snake miraculous, with both of them arguing on which one can help. Ladybug gives the fox miraculous to Kagami, turning him into Hansha, while Adrien gives the snake miraculous to Luka, becoming Viperion. As Adrien never tries the snake miraculous, he doesn't end up traumatized by making bad decisions, and the quartet are able to defeat Desperada. In the end, Adrien and Kagami are able to enjoy their romance while Kagami and Luka reestablish their friendship.
Tumblr media
8. Kwamibuster--Ms. Bustier is absent as she's now giving birth to her daughter, and Plagg isn't as reckless when being around Ms. Mendeliev. Kagami, Luka, Chloe, and Nino join the fight against Kwamibuster, Most of the episode is the same, except extra miraculous don't exist outside the main 7 and the snake miraculous, and we see Sass and Trixx fill Kagami and Luka in on how Kwamis and Miraculous work, as well as their history, as they had made sure to study Master Fu's book before leaving his care.
Tumblr media
9. Feast--Mostly the same, but introduces Marianne as well as exploring Master Fu's past. More information is given about previous Miraculous holders, giving the six miraculous heroes insight into their predecessors. Kagami questions the morality that comes with being a superhero, and Master Fu reveals that the fox miraculous was originally able to warp time and space, allowing the user to traverse multiverses, but the power was sealed when a malevolent user possessed the fox miraculous. This frustrates her, as she wants the power to live her life free of her mother's criticisms. Alya also surmises other ancient holders who Master Fu may or may not have known about. Master Fu is also not responsible for the destruction of the Order of the Guardians. When he was a young adult, his rival was overlooked for the power of the ladybug miraculous, and given the cat miraculous instead. The rival secretly craved power, and destroyed the temple (which was simply a sanctuary for ONE miracle box) and killed everyone in it except for Master Fu and his father. Master Fu grabbed the butterfly miraculous and tried to use it to encourage positive feelings from his past friend, but the friend used the peacock miraculous and became akumatized by the akuma, making him create the feast sentimonster. After a long battle, Feast was sealed and the butterfly and peacock miraculous were lost, with the implication that Fu's friend died in the battle (though I do like the idea that he was turned into a statue as well and hidden away). Nathalie's life isn't just sapped by the peacock miraculous; it's consuming her, as she now wears it secretly and turns into Mayura without having to say a phrase. Gabriel's concern for Nathalie and Adrien is severe, and he sits this battle out as he grieves losing more people he cares about, spending time with Adrien while the other five team members defeat Feast. Instead, it's all Mayura until Gabriel discovers her as she crumbles as Feast is defeated. Mayura reveals Master Fu's identity to Gabriel, and while the Tibetan temple is restored, the lives lost are not confirmed to have returned, so Master Fu goes on a trip to investigate himself. Kagami questions if the restoration of the temple means that she can unlock her hidden fox powers.
Tumblr media
10. Ikari Gozen--Tomoe gives Kagami a bit of leeway for the friendship game, but reconsiders when Gabriel criticizes her for being too controlling, to which Tomoe replies that he is ignorant of their culture. Kagami and Marinette get along well, and Luka, Nino, and Adrien bond. Ikari Gozen's design is more reminiscent of a ninja, as she is swift and elusive, causing great damage at lightning speed. After a tense conversation with her mother, Kagami uses the fox miraculous, having practiced overcoming the seal that warps reality. Her rage destroys the seal, and Kagami warps them to a different time and place. Kagami returns, but her mother isn't with her. She flees the scene, horrified at what she's just done, and Gabriel laments the dire situation, but reasons that Tomoe was a terrible person and brought this upon herself. Kagami stays with Adrien for the time being, though it's difficult for him to console her. Luka and Nino win the contest and come over, with Chloe joining out of sympathy, and Kagami relies on them for support. At the end, Gabriel questions what he's done, as he's now orphaned a child.
Tumblr media
11. Timetagger--Most of this is the same, but rather than Bunnix being present, Luka combines the snake and fox miraculous to extend his time powers, allowing him to travel through time--though he knows that the fox's power is unstable and needs to fight quickly. He ends up making himself ill, with Adrien and Juleka trying to comfort him. Nino also plays a large role in fighting his brother, who figures out his identity, but since this is the future version of his brother, it doesn't matter much. Everything else is the same--except Chat Noir being impartient. Kagami also feels immense guilt not being able to help the heroes, and even asks the future Viperion if she'll ever find her mother, which he affirms, but she questions if he was just trying to spare her feelings.
Tumblr media
12. Party Crasher--Mostly the same, but after Marinette exhausts herself from frequent battles, Adrien takes the ladybug miraculous to become Lord Beetle again, giving the black cat miraculous to Kim temporarily. The story happens during the late afternoon/night being a guys' party and sleepover per Gabriel's rules of Adrien not having girls sleep over--aside from Kagami, who's in the other wing (and yes, he trusts Luka, as he's healing up from an injury he claims to have had while jumping off the stage during band practice). More insight is given into the past male miraculous holders, specifically a group of all male members, a homme fatale team, as well as a femme fatale team. Lord Beetle, Carapace, and Kim's alter ego Darkclaw battle Party Crasher. In the end, Adrien goes to comfort Kagami, telling her that despite it being a guy's night, she can still come and hang out for the party. BTW, rather than a random party, it's a belated birthday party for Marc. He had a regular one, but the party at Adrien's house was Nino's suggestion of a guys-only afterparty.
Tumblr media
13. Cat Blanc--Mostly the same. Here, Marinette considers the possibility of her being with Adrien, around which time Kagami takes back her fox miraculous and continues searching for her mother, who by this time has been gone for a month. Ladybug chases after her, but then end up in a dystopian Paris. It plays out the same with Adrien finding out Marinette's identity, and shortly afterwards he breaks up with Kagami and a little after that, he and Marinette date, but it diverges with Gabriel making her his protege, but the scandal and rumors of favoritism since she's dating his son hurts both their reputations, forcing her to break up with Adrien. Gabriel laments at the idea of akumatizing her, but Nathalie, having become 90% Mayura, convinces him to do it. Adrien reveals his identity while trying to save Marinette, and becomes akumatized himself, feeling alone now that his father and ex-girlfriend are more obsessed with their careers than him. Chat Blanc reveals Ladybug's true identity, but Kagami believes this to be a ruse, though he doesn't reveal himself as Adrien. However, a plot twist occurs; rather than saving the world via Miraculous Ladybug, Ladybug and Chat Noir go toe-to-toe and Kagami's powers react oddly, affecting Chat Blanc and making him disappear. Kagami is frustrated at not being able to find her mother, but she and Marinette are left mystified about what happened to Chat Blanc, with Marinette wondering who his real identity was.
Tumblr media
14. Félix--At this point, I'd probably say it's been about a year and a half since the show began. MAJOR changes. Gabriel is surprised by Adrien wanting him and Nathalie to be together, but when he sees Amelie, he realizes he isn't over Emilie yet. Félix is much more cheery and upbeat, though his father's death has left him sarcastic and with a wry sense of humor. He shows great apathy towards heroes, unaware of their origins or potential, but sees them as a "Paris Problem." Despite not having seen Adrien in a while, Félix seems to recall everything about Adrien's room, and feels a pang of jealousy at his popularity. Félix takes his identity temporarily, which doesn't go unnoticed by Kagami, and Luka and Marinette talk about their feelings for Adrien. Félix attempts to hang out with Adrien's friends, but his social awkwardness results in him being embarrassed, and Hawk Moth akumatizes him out of revenge for masquerading as Adrien. Now akumatized as Pale Imitation, he now has the ability to turn others into caricatures of their true selves. When deakumatized, Félix angrily rejects Adrien's sympathy and his friends' attempts to befriend him, as he's cursed to look like his "better" cousin who he can never live up to. Amelie is revealed to be more twisted than previously thought, as she reprimands him for not being perfect like Adrien and Félix's father, though she relents when he gives her Gabriel's ring. Kagami considers telling Adrien about Ladybug's true identity, but worries that the extra may make him unstable like Chat Blanc and Félix.
Tumblr media
15. Ladybug--Mostly the same, albeit renamed "Princess Justice"; Ms. Bustier returns, and Alya takes up some of Marinette's duties as she becomes more exhausted, becoming Scarabella. During Lila's lies, she hasn't returned them yet, and Marinette is akumatized into Princess Justice. Queen Bee, Scarabella, Hansha, Carapace, and Chat Noir battle her, as she possesses the ability to invert their powers. She makes Scarabella see everything in black and red, preventing her from properly using lucky charm, paralyzes Queen Bee, and traps Carapace in his own shield. Chat Noir and Hansha try to get through to her, but Hawk Moth and Mayura back her up, taunting Hansha for making Kagami an orphan. Hansha loses it, but manages to deakumatize Princess Justice while Chat Noir scares away Hawk Moth and Mayura. Rather than saying that she's a compulsive liar, Lila simply says that Marinette owned a similar necklace to her own, and that she made an emotional mistake since it was the only thing she had of her grandmother. Ladybug and Chat Noir later chide Kagami, as her emotions almost resulted in her creating holes across the multiverse, which could've threatened their universe, but Kagami angrily brushes them off. She moves out of the Agreste mansion and breaks up with Adrien, deciding to look for her mother full-time rather than "sulking." At this point, Adrien and Marientte swear off any chances of friendship with Lila, and Gabriel reconsiders her usefulness.
Tumblr media
16. Heart Hunter (The Battle of the Miraculous-Part 1)--Mostly the same; it's revealed the only reason Audrey and Andre are married is because of Chloe, and that Zoe despises Chloe for it, believing that Audrey left her father for Andre. Ladybug goes to check on Master Fu, but Hawk Moth follows her and captures Master Fu. Ladybug and Chat Noir manage to capture Hansha while she's traversing the multiverses looking for her mother, and they take the fox miraculous from her. Enraged, Hawk Moth takes advantage of her distraught emotions.
Tumblr media
17. Miracle Queen (The Battle of the Miraculous-Part 2)--VERY similar, but now Kagami is Miracle Queen, who entrusts her servants to retrieve the fox miraculous so she could find her mother. Almost everything is the same otherwise, but Master Fu, close to being captured, entrusts the Miracle Box to Carapace, making it a shell that's almost impossible to pry open. Kagami is broken and rejects Hawk Moth's offer to retreat. Ladybug feels immense grief for ever giving Kagami the fox miraculous in the first place, and Adrien is disturbed at not being able to help Kagami heal.
Lemme know what you're favorite episode(s) was! I may tweak this before releasing season 4.

Alya is my most ‘how do I rank them?’ Character. One one hand, she’s shown herself to be a pretty good friend in episodes like Gang Of Secrets and Ladybug, on the other hand, Revelation and Reflekdoll are episodes that exist and are my biggest sources of Alya Salt. Like, I understand not really giving Mari the benefit of the doubt in Chameleon, she was being insane there, but I wished Alya would have at least entertained the idea of Lila being the culprit in LB because Lila was the one accusing Mari!
Honestly I ban half of the Lila shit from coloring my perspective of characters because the only reason that Alya didn't catch on was that the writers wouldn't let her. Like, obviously in the Watsonian perspective we have to admit that she didn't connect the dots and Mari didn't bring it to the forefront for her to connect said dots, which I mentioned. But the Doyalist is just. They didn't write it.
Reflektdoll I don't entirely count either. I mean I think she should've been the one to apologize, but I do understand her kinda steamrolling the situation of 'Hey Juleka is thinking of backing out, we only have Adrien for a little longer, how about we let Mari do it?'.

As I mentioned it earlier, I was going to do my ranking of ML episodes, because why not? So here it is.
My way of ranking is different from the others', bc how on earth am I supposed to rank episodes of the show where I really love every single episode? So I decided to go the easy route and ranked them by how many times I watched them.
Disclaimer: episodes in groups III-IV aren't the worst by any means! They're all good. It's just that I don’t rewatch them that often.
Feel free to ask for my comments about this or that episode.

Hey, Punch, I know that Marinette's the MC, but... the number of episodes who can actually be dropped either because of her lack of crush on Adrien or because she's in another class really shows how essential she is to the class. It's kind of ridiculous, I mean no crush eliminates: Troublemaker's ridiculous scene, Riposte (people would see that Adrien won anyway), Gorizilla (as she immeadtly drag Adrien back), Frozer (actually that doesn't depend on her much...), Gigantitan, Chameleon, Reflekdoll, Christmaster, Stormy Weather 2.0, Chat Blanc and Hear Hunter entire mid episode?
I mean, it IS certainly lesser than the ones where she is on another class (which wow), but is certainly fascinating.
Honestly, some of those can still happen, you just remove some aspects or change them. To cover a few of what's mentioned:
Troublemaker the akuma can still happen with Penny overwhelmed and Marinette's privacy being invaded, whether there were Adrien pictures or not, no one likes having their space invaded without permission and having a whole camera crew come in to film. At most, you just remove the "humor" of Marinette having a lot of pictures of Adrien, which didn't need to be there. Set up alone is distressful enough.
Riptose could still happen with D'Argencourt just having an agenda against Kagami and her family. Or Marinette could still join and take that last slot, either because Adrien her friend invited her, or she wants to expand her combative capability.
Gorizilla I see still happening as Marinette the friend would still be inclined to help get Adrien to the movie he really wants to see.
Frozer the akuma would still happen but yeah, something else would have to be the focus. Which I guess it could instead fully be a double date Lukanette and Adrimi episode?
Christmaster could happen with Chris wanting Christmas now.
Chat Blanc could happen, just have it be caused by Adrien learning about his dad. Or maybe it could've been turned into a sort of season finale or where they stop HM instead.
For those up in the air/probably would be cut:
Gigatitan can definitely be cut and you know what, that can just go anyway. It was done cause ahahaha, isn't it fully that HM akumatized a baby? This is a great joke let's repeat again and again.
Chameleon would depend on Lila. Cause in Volpina, I still see Marinette upset and bothered, but I do think she would've approached Lila much calmer and in private, share concerns of what trouble Lila's lies can get her into (like HM targeting her). It's up in the air how Lila would respond, which puts Chameloen up in the air for existence.
Refleckdoll probably would be cut, like, I could see Alya inviting Adrien to model with Juleka, but she wouldn't be uprooting the shoot trying to get Adrienette to happen (unless she just decided she'd like them to be a couple). So the shoot shouldn't go so badly for Juleka.
A lot of the ML episodes can still work and be there, they'd just have to be tweaked to remove the LS content. And the LS content doesn't even need to really be there for a lot of them.

Winter
It’s the faaabulous time of year again where we post for @mlsecretsanta~ And this year, my giftee is @coffeegrindsandautumnbreezes who wanted something sweet and Juleka-centric. Please enjoy~
Rating: General Audiences Genre: Friendship, Family Bonding, Slice of life Pairing(s): None Summary: Juleka has some introspective while filling in on a re-shoot for Gabriel. Warning: Minor mentions of “Reflekdoll”, beta’d by PocketNoivern
“Are you sure about this Juleka? I’d understand if you’re not comfortable.”
“No, it’s alright. I offered to do this.”
A nod, but her mouth thinned all the same. Peridot eyes twinkled however, and he smiled so easily.
“Okay, but tell me if you ever start feeling overwhelmed at all?”
“Mmm… thanks Adrien.”
He really was too kind; Juleka was grateful for his friendship and she could see why Marinette’s infatuation with him remained after so long. Of course, she was - in general - grateful to both of them for this opportunity at all. It had been Marinette’s suggestion that he ask her about modeling again (she wondered if it was to make up for last time, but really, that hadn’t been Marinette’s fault). It’s possible Marinette knew she had needed the extra euro and what’s more, it would be experience for her resumé. She intended on thanking them both properly when she could and the opportunity to hang out with a friend that could probably do with the change of pace himself.
Well, if helping her again was a change for him. Considering the circumstance, it probably wasn’t. After all, someone as patient as Adrien should’ve been able to work with someone as flexible as Lila, but therein was the reason for the winter re-shoot and Juleka getting this break at all.
She’d think about the details later, and instead, try to focus on posing.
Her usual make-up? Removed and replaced with natural tones. She herself provided enough contrast to the neutral, but brighter and warmer tones of the winter attire she had to wear. There was also a matter of the location - the Pont Alexandre III blocked off just for this. The purpose today was to accentuate warmth in the cold, first a series of solo shots and then a few couple poses - the idealistic and romantic comfort when the temperature dropped. She’d done similar shoots with him before - maybe that’s why Marinette suggested her first? No, part of her tone had still sounded apologetic.
So far, it was going well; or at least, she was satisfying Vincent’s demands, but then everyone seemed to tense when Vincent called for Adrien to join her.
“Are they expecting an akuma?” she asked when he stood next to her.
He shot her a sheepish look. “Ah… yes and no? These days, they’re always worried about an akuma delaying us, but… er, Lila wasn’t following directions when we got to this part. I’d say that’s pretty standard considering how often I have to work with her now.”
“Oh… that’s weird.”
Lila being unprofessional? That didn’t sound right, but if Adrien was saying that… Then perhaps her perception wasn’t as off as she thought.
“Yes! Warm couple, show me winter love! That… cold hot passion! Close, but no! Shy, waiting to bloom! Perfetto!”
“I think I get it…” Juleka mumbled, taking hold of Adrien’s hand, but looking down.
“Really? Most people don’t.”
She heard the shutter going off.
“When you take a walk in winter with someone, you’re close, but not too close,” Juleka started, pausing as they changed poses. “You’re enjoying the cold and the quiet with company instead of talking in the sun and warmth. You think about the return home together, sitting by a fire, or wrapping up in a blanket and don’t linger...”
“Yeah, that’s right…!” Adrien paused as they stood close together, huddled with her shoulder to his arm as they both ducked their heads and pretended to be caught in a sudden snowfall. “It’s definitely a more restrained display of love outside during winter that’s not just limited to romantic couples. You think about things like this a lot, don’t you Juleka?”
“... Maybe.”
She wasn’t asked about her opinions or thoughts all that often, and she knew it had much to do with the way she dressed and musical tastes. Not that she’d ever say it out loud, but she was a bit of a romantic and had her interests that seemed counter to her rock lifestyle. For example, she would rather write poetry than music lyrics, and this too, she wanted to model instead of play music. There was plenty still that she didn’t grasp, but to try understanding more complex feelings she didn’t fully comprehend, she observed people, thought plenty about moments in time, and the experience they must have in that instant. As well, she could look at couples and visualize their connections almost. Perhaps it wasn’t the same as how her brother could hear people’s heart songs, but she’d like to think she had enough sense.
Like in this moment, Adrien came off to her as ‘ease’ and ‘comfortable’, contrasting how stressed he’d been growing at school - or perhaps, it was better to say he was becoming stressed at life. It was unfortunate; she didn’t think she was the person to ask him about it. Hopefully Nino or Marinette would notice.
“Now, Juleka, you are winter blossom. I need… yes! Smile, just like that! Yes, yes!”
It was just a subtle expression she was giving the camera, but she did wonder how it did look on his end. She couldn’t see Adrien’s expression either, but it still felt like he was enjoying himself. Good; she was happy to know he didn’t mind her company.
A few more shots and a few more poses (the closest to uncomfortable was a small cheek kiss, but it was only one shot) had Vincent snapping up to a straight spine stand and lowering his camera.
“That! Was magnifico! I need her for more shoots, Adrien! You bring her again!”
“If that’s alright with her. She’s not officially contracted, but if you tell my father…”
“Ah, yes! I will have a word with Nathalie!”
Vincent was off in a shot while Juleka remained standing, watching the crew begin to remove the extra lighting that had been set up in assumption they’d continue longer. She accepted Adrien’s hand when extended her way and his escort back to the dressing tent. He looked, and felt, so elated that Juleka couldn’t keep herself from smiling back as he spoke, “That was great, Juleka! One of the best shoots we’ve had! I wish we could’ve talked more, but I hope Luka likes his gift.”
“Thank you, Adrien. And I know he will.”
Even if he managed to get a new one already, but that would just mean having two instead of none. “I had fun too. If you need me to fill in again, or if Vincent insists on that next shoot, just ask.”
“I’ll keep that in mind.”
Letting go of her hand, he waved as he retreated to his own dressing tent. Meanwhile, she stood and stared, considering many things about the energy now exuding from him and how it proceeded to dim. How curious, but again, she wasn’t close enough to ask for details. She wouldn’t mind getting close in the future, especially if working together might become common; he seemed like the person who’d appreciate more friends and she rather liked having brighter personalities around.
Turning, she was in and out of her tent in moments, taking particular care to make sure the designer clothes were hung properly before stepping back out. There, the make-up artist handed her the agreed pay for the late-minute fill-in - there was more than originally negotiated. However, glancing up, there she saw Adrien peering around Nathalie as she spoke to Vincent. He grinned, waving slightly again, and mouthed ‘Joyeux Noel’. Of course she mouthed ‘Joyeux Noel’ back before heading on her way.
Down the ways towards Champs-Élysées, Luka was waiting for her to arrive having stayed to watch her and walk with her home. He could’ve at least gone and waited inside a cafe to keep warm, but no. Hopefully his fingers weren’t cold considering his fingerless gloves, but knowing him, he’d probably lost track of time strumming his guitar. Stopping as she approached and raising his head, he beamed brightly. “Hey Jules… Sounds like you had fun. Did Adrien treat you well?”
“Mmm, he made sure I was comfortable, and if I had any issues, he was ready to help,” she answered, knowing that her brother already knew.
“His heart is still suppressing its true ballad. I’m glad things went well,” he said, packing his guitar back into its case. Standing up, he slung it over his shoulder and nodded. “Ready to head home, or do you have any other stops to make?”
“... Not right now. Let’s walk home, it looks like it will really snow soon.”
“Yeah, that’s true… Ah, wait.”
He turned to the railing and picked up two to-go mugs, turning back to her with a grin as he held one out. “Mom will likely have something bigger, but cheers to a successful shoot. One step closer to the dream.”
“Thanks, Luka…”
Accepting her cup, it was still warm between both hands. Then, he had gone to a cafe moments before - ah, he’d called when they would be wrapping up. One day, she’d like to be that intuitive and thoughtful. For now, she walked alongside him in comfortable silence, enjoying the wafted aroma of vanilla and chai, and making plans on getting him that pedal tuner she spotted in the music store. After that… the best Merry Christmas thank yous she could think of.

[Transcript: Cats have 32 muscles in each ear to help them ignore the shit out of you.]
Via @norakwami
Via @galahadwilder: angst time: "Chat please stop dying"
Me: Oh, it is on, you fuckers.
-----
Ladybug landed on the roof next to Cat Noir, intent on saying her peace before patrol started. There had been another akuma attack only a few days before, and that meant another near-death experience for her—or rather, for her partner. She didn't bother with pleasantries: "Cat, I need you to stop dying on me."
Cat flicked one of his leather ears at this pronouncement and looked away. "Shall we go east first tonight, my Lady?" he asked blithely.
Ladybug grabbed the offending ear between her thumb and forefinger and pulled it until he was forced to look at her. "I'm serious, Cat. Stop dying on me. You need to take care of yourself better!"
Her partner met her eyes seriously before looking away again. "I'm sorry, Ladybug, but this is what I have to do. You know that the city's hope ultimately rests with you; if I go down, you can still save the day and bring you back, but if you go down? That's it; it's all over."
Ladybug glared at him. Catching his face between both hands and forcing him to meet her eyes, she said, “No, it’s not. As long as my death doesn’t involve me vanishing—hell, as long as even my ears are left, you still have the ability to become Mister Bug and bring me back. I trust you to do that. The hope of Paris may rest on my shoulders, but my hope rests on yours. So stop killing yourself for my sake!”
Cat stared at her, eyes wide, then closed them and covered her hands with his own. “Okay, my Lady,” he told her, voice hoarse. “I promise I’ll try.”

ML What if part 2 (Option 2)
(Continuation of this)
(What if Ladybug could Always create Magical charms?)
-Gabriel while completely discouraged, does try to move on from being hawkmoth, but after a few days couldnt really bring himself to give up.
-He did have a plan for heroes day, but it was much different than before.
-Nathalie became Catalyst, enhancing Hawkmoth's power to the mighty Scarlet moth. But, instead of having it so he can make as many akuma as he wants. It was the power to use any AKUMA power he created.
-With the powers of several akuma, he was a force to be reckoned with!
-Ladybug and Chat noir watched as he used thes immense powers to wreck Paris and command citizens to destroy their akuma preventing charms.
-Ladybug and Chat noir went and got back up.
-The original team from heroes day was formed.
-The Same lucky charm was used, and it was because scarlet moth made copies of himself (sapotis powers). But it save the day cause they found the real one.
-Sure enough, with their combined efforts. Scarletmoth was reduced back to hawkmoth.
-But like in canon, he was saved by a moth sentimonster.
-Ladybug cast luckycharm and everything, including the charms were restored. But now sentimonsters were in the mix.
-Well for one, Backwarder happens but with an ending twist. She stays with Fu. With the magical charms keeping her from being akumatized, she insists on staying to be with him. And with Ladybug also learning from him, he couldnt say no.
-Weredad does still happen just with a different baby. A joke about Hawkmoth desperate to find new akuma is made. But the episode is basically the same
-Chameleon happens but this time Ladybug ensure she has a charm. Now Lila will not be able to get akumatized as easily.
-Animaestro, Bakerix and Silencer all still happen but with each of them getting charms
-Oblivio doesnt happen because Nino and Alya have akuma charms, but the couple was still embarrassed.
-Stormy Weather 2 and Reflekdoll cant happen. (Victories there)
-Oni-chan cant happen either, so Kagami gets sad and angry over the picture and does cause some tension. So Lila's plan was actually somewhat successful, but does make adrien angry with Lila after the stunt she pulled.
-Miracular cant happen because both Chloé and Sabrina have charms. Hawkmoth did try to make Chloé lose faith in Ladybug but it failed in this attempt.
-Chrismaster still happened,
-Timetagger does still happen, but it does make Ladybug concerned because Chris was already akumatized. She does make him a new charm. Before she could ask Chris what happened to his other charm, Bunnyx ushered him away.
-The puppeteer 2 doesnt happen, but the statue scene does. And without the akuma interruption. Adrien and Marinette are able to fully talk through things which allows them to make up for the moment and grow closer, but like in canon, Adrien mentions the girl he loves, and it still hurts
-Desperada, startrain, and Kwamibuster both happen with basically nothing changing, except Marianne doting on Marinette a bit.
-Feast has the biggest change. So Fu recognizes the beast and he wants to get the f*** out like in canon. But this time, Marianne is there to help convince Fu NOT to leave. So Fu decided the best bet would be to warp that statue back into a lava pit in tibet where it belongs. He uses the horse and runs into Mayura!
-Both of them not at 100 percent, But with the power of portals, he warped out just as Mayura freed Feast.
-Warping to Marinette's room. He warned Marinette of the awakened sentimonster. He heads to warn chat noir.
-Now having warned them both, he goes to grab the miracle box so Marianne isnt in danger.
-Ladybug and Chat noir arrive (sadly no biker bug or banana noir) and confront the beast.
-Ladybug comes to the same conclusion on how to beat the sentimonster, and it works like in canon.
-Now the only difference is that Fu never got exposed.
-Ikari Gozan is the same but Ladybug heads to master Fu's place instead of the movie theater.
-Party Crasher is the exact same because Fu wanted a boys day. He took the box just in case.
-Gamer 2.0 doesnt happen.
-Chat Blanc does happen, but there is one big difference. Ladybug created a charm for Chat noir, and he told her to give it to Her kitty. Because he knew she wasnt the same ladybug.
-It was a heartbreaking scene, after she cast miraculous ladybug, Ladybug realized the charm vanished too.
-Felix doesnt have the punishment trio, But it did cause quite a commotion. Sadly for Hawkmoth nothing he could use. Felix was hoping it would cause an akuma or something, but nothing. Confused, Adrien found out what happened and was angry with Felix. And in this case. There was an akuma. But Adrien resisted, but Felix figured this would be his chance. Felix gets akumatized, becoming "Negotiator" which allows him to make anyone do anything if he shakes their hand to "Make a deal"
-Ladybug and Chat noir defeat him, but it was a confusing and difficult battle.
-And then there is the episode "Ladybug"

Miraculous Rant.
Where the hell do I begin…
Season 1:
The show was decent in season 1. Some episodes were just mindless filler and probably weren’t needed in the grand scheme of things but they helped us get introduced to the characters, we got to know the plot and the world our characters inhabit. It was good. The love story between Adrien and Marinette was cute and off to a touching and fluffy start.
Season 2:
This season was immediately better than season 1. It had character development, it went more into detail about the lore surrounding the Miraculous and we got to learn more about our characters and their families and the villian’s motives. (HM really went from “I wanna destroy the world” to “I wanna wake my wife from the coma she’s in”).
We got to see new heroes which was fun! We got new characters like Luka and Kagami.
The season finale was epic! The Miraculous team all taking down all the previous villains in the show was awesome. At the end we even got Mari kissing Adrien on the cheek. It was great! (Even though it clearly reset itself in season 3 cause it’s never mentioned again)
I really enjoyed season 2 and it’s probably my favourite out of the 4.
Season 3:
Season 3 was kinda good and kinda bad. We had some great episodes but this is where the show took the wrong turn.
Marinette lost some of her character in season 3. This was the start of her descent into being the Queen of Mary Sues. It’s also where she was crowned the Queen of Stalkers! Her character took a fucking nose dive in this season. We had so many moments that just creeped me the fuck out.
1. The ENTIRETY of Puppeteer 2 🤢🤢🤢 I could not stand that episode. When we reached the dreaded statue scene I physically had to pause it like 10 times. That scene takes about 3 minutes to watch… it took me about 20. I cringed so fucking hard because of the secondhand embarrassment I was feeling. That was not sweet, it wasn’t romantic, it wasn’t the least bit cute… it was a train wreck! It was creepy and stalkerish and it’s a wonder Adrien even spoke to her again after that atrocity!
2. LB delivering the present in Chat Blanc. Two words: STALKER BEHAVIOUR!!! I genuinely could not believe my eyes when I saw LB run her hand across everything in his room and then actually SNIFF Adrien’s pillow. Like WTF!!! 🤮 I’m pretty sure whoever was responsible for that scene clearly thought it was the equivalent of when someone gets their S/O’s jumper or something and it still smells like them. But this turned it up to the nth degree and way passed the line of sanity.
Adrien was extremely under-utilised in this season. He didn’t really do anything. The only episodes we got about him didn’t really focus on him. ‘Felix’ whilst focusing on Adrien’s family didn’t really feature him. ‘Party Crasher’ while a beautiful mess was more about Mari trying to get into the party than the party itself. ‘Chat Blanc’ again focused more on Mari trying to fix her mistake.
We got even more heroes in season 3, not in the right order but they were there. It was fun seeing everyone’s transformations.
Season 3 was also the season of destroying redemptions. The big one obviously being Chloe. Season 2 was setting up this amazing redemption for her and before it could go anywhere it was wiped off the face of the earth during the finale (and don’t worry we’ll get to that dumpster fire later). Gabriel also had any remaining sympathy ripped away from him. How did the guy who stopped Gorizilla from letting Adrien die when he only thought he was CN go from that to using his son like fucking baseball in Chat Blanc when he knew his son was CN. Like I knew you were a shit father but you still cared about Adrien in some way shape or form but after that episode I can see I was clearly mistaken!
Before we get to the finale I want to talk about probably my 2 least favourite episodes from this season: Desperada and Reflekdoll
Desperada:
I fucking hated this episode! The only good thing was Luka getting to be Viperion, other than that this episode was awful!
Marinette was a selfish cringey bitch. Completely ignoring Luka to gush about Adrien to Jagged. Brushing Luka off as soon as Adrien turns up. Immediately cuddling up to Aspik and flirting with him when she needed to focus on the akuma (something which she has told CN not to do many times before)
Adrien, I love you kid but Jesus Christ you were a dumbass in this episode! Aspik’s design was terrible! Aspik himself was awful. I know Adrien tried his best but dude you were given the Black Cat miraculous for a reason! He shouldn’t have tried to be Aspik but even when he did he should’ve called it quits after like 5 resets not 25,913 times.
The only person with a brain this episode was Luka. So well done guitar boy, gold star!
Reflekdoll:
This episode was annoying! It was basically the start of the Marinette can do no wrong streak! When they have to swap miraculous I was happy cause it meant we got to see new outfits and see how they each handle the different powers. It would also serve as a way to get LB and CN to see what their partners role is first hand. Until we actually get to it…
LadyNoire is of course amazing and needs no introduction to using this new miraculous that she’s never used before. She’s cocky and confident and basically just LB in Chat’s costume with his powers.
Mister Bug on the other hand is just useless. He struggles with this new miraculous (like anyone would!) and is stupid and goofy. He has to rely on LadyNoire to solve the lucky charm. They swapped miraculous so shouldn’t that mean that Mister Bug should get the lucky vision and the creative powers that the earrings give him.
Overall Reflekdoll is awful. It was shitty writing and the start of Adrien getting the short end of the stick.
And now the season 3 finale… Just what the fuck. That is my only reaction: what the fuck!
Chloe you poor fucking child! What did they do to you!!! So much potential SQUANDERED!!!!
What was the point in bringing in all these different superheros with unique skill sets, costumes and transformations if you were just going to immediately reveal them to the main villian so they can’t be used again. That’s stupid! If you wanted the shock value that is “Oh no HM knows some of the heroes identities!” Then keep it as only some. Have like Max, Kim and Kagami outside trying to find somewhere to hide but unfortunately they get hit. Or Nino and Alya are hiding but the windows open and they get hit. Have some of the heroes hide so they’re fine! Taking away every ally of LB and CN’s was a stupid move! (Even if they wanted Alya to become a spy have her as part of the like 4 that get revealed or something, it’s not that difficult)
Season 3 was 50/50 for me
Season 4:
So I know season 4 isn’t even halfway through yet but so much is wrong with this season already that I need to vent!
So my biggest problem with this season of Miraculous: Tales of Ladybitch and Rena Rouge, I mean Rena Furtive… shit, Chat Noir! Is that CN is basically pointless! Adrien has been flung over a rainbow and is only remembered when he’s needed as
1. Marinette’s love interest
2. Someone for LB to shout at
3. A plot device
He has basically been sidelined. Partners my ASS!!!
Adrien is being blown off by pretty much EVERYONE! It’s coming to a point where this poor sweet summer child is going to crack! And it is not gonna be pretty… I definitely feel like the writers are leading up to a big fight between CN and LB which will probably end with Chat Blanc 2.0.
I REALLY HATE MARINETTE/LADYBUG!!!! In Season 3 I said it was the beginning of her descent, well in season 4 she’s done it. She’s descended, she has hit rock fucking bottom. She is so unlikable I don’t actually care about her as a person. She has entered full blown stalker territory it’s only a matter of time before she starts killing people for even looking at Adrien! Not to mention that Miss Mary Sue here can’t do anything wrong! She never has to suffer the consequences of her actions, she is always perfect no matter what she does… it pisses me off!)
She’s the Guardian now big whoop. I know what it feels like to be stressed and under pressure so I do understand why she needed to tell someone about it all. I just don’t see why that person had to Alya! Especially considering she has someone by her side every akuma attack going through pretty much the exact same thing. I know she’s worried about CB happening again but as I said before the more she leaves him out the more she is actually pushing that to become a possibility! Plus it makes sense for them to reveal their identities now since LB is now the guardian it’s probably a good idea to know who holds the cat miraculous, she knows everyone else’s identities!
Even if she didn’t want to tell CN her identity she could still explain the situation to him. If she didn’t want to tell him anything (which she doesn’t anyway) then instead of Alya she should’ve talked to Luka! Her boyfriend for all of half an episode (thanks writers…). He’s so sweet and caring and clearly loves her so much! If she wanted someone to confide in then why not choose the person you clearly wanted to date but couldn’t because of that very reason! (Yeah I know it’s kinda a moot point now since Luka knows both identities but still). He wanted to try and comfort her so it would’ve been the perfect moment for it. That way you could still date him and he’d know why you had to suddenly leave dates halfway through! But no break the boys heart instead!
Adrien and Marinette were both such fucking idiots in the first 2 episodes. Like why would you start a relationship with someone when you know your heart isn’t in it! That’s called leading someone on and is a really shitty thing to do to someone! No wonder Kagami and Luka ended up akumatized!
Another aspect of season 4 I don’t like is Rena Furtive. Yes ok having a spy for your side is a good strategy but when said spy basically tells an important member of a duo that the 2 person job doesn’t involve them… it just really ticks me off! Alya you are the sidekick to LB and CN! Chat isn’t!
Miraculous specials:
The Miraculous World specials suck! Shanghai is better than NY but still has its problems. Both specials add nothing to the overall plot/lore of the show apart from trying to set up some weird cinematic universe…
NY special:
One of the worst things I’ve ever had to sit through! The plane scene alone I paused a few times. I want to say well done to Mari for trying to move on from Adrien (especially considering I’m pretty sure she’s dating Luka at this point) but I can’t help but think it’s just to give her character some pointless development that goes nowhere and doesn’t actually develop anything!
LB can pretty much fuck off at this point! I hate her! She put all this shit on CN (like she doesn’t know exactly how that feels). It’s like why does she get to go off on holiday but CN can’t. LB should’ve stayed in Paris for 3 reasons:
1. She’s recently become the guardian meaning it would probably be best that she stayed with the Mircle Box
2. She’s the only one who can purity the akumas
3. If she’s so sure about being the boss then she should take responsibility of Paris and the citizens.
What really pisses me off about her is what she says to CN during the big fight. “I can’t trust you”… surely you could have this conversation afterwards since you’re supposed to be focusing on taking down the villian! Plus everyone bashes Adrien for giving his miraculous up in this episode but look at it from his point of view: His partner and best friend just said she couldn’t trust him which in turn caused him to cataclysm someone and essentially kill them. That’s gonna take a toll on anyone, especially a 14 year old! He probably thought in that moment. “Ladybug needs a partner she can trust and someone who won’t mess up and kill someone. She needs a better partner.” It makes sense he renounces his miraculous! I’m just upset that in doing so he loses Plagg who is pretty much his only friend who actually understands what Adrien goes through at home.
When Uncanny gets CN to come back, LB acts like it’s not her fault in the first place that he feels inadequate! She didn’t even apologise for saying what she did! He apologised for lying about not being in Paris but nope LB wasn’t in the wrong at all and didn’t have anything to apologise for 🙄… (yes the LadyNoir hug was amazing but I just wish it was under different circumstances!)
Also are we not gonna mention Gabriel Agreste almost starting WW3??? He wanted to launch a fucking missile!!!
Shanghai:
As I said before, this special is way better for several reasons.
We got MariChat! (Best side to the love square imo). This special actually had some semblance on a plot. Fei, whilst a bit op, was a cool character. It was nice to see Wang Cheng again.
However once again there were many problems.
A big one being Marinette yet again! (What a shock! 😒 I’ll come back to this). Another was that once again HM’s motivation has changed. How is getting the Prodigious gonna help bring back Emilie??
Back to Marinette… The fact that the words “Huh?! There must be some kind of mistake! I always know what's up with Adrien! … His 5 first names and every corresponding name date, his yearly schedule, even his shoe size! If there were anything to know about him, I would know it!” come out of her mouth whilst she is flipping through his schedule that she keeps in her pocketbook is a hugh red flag!!! That is not cute or adorable! That’s messed up and Adrien needs to fucking run and maybe possibly go into witness protection… Marinette is a full blown stalker! Not to mention the GPS she has (that could just be the find my friends app on iphone but still).
It also is extremely rude of her to use not only her great uncle’s birthday but also a lie about wanting to know her Chinese heritage in order to go to Shanghai to stalk her obsession, I mean crush. This could’ve been avoided if the Dupain-Chengs were going to Shanghai for the purpose of celebrating Wang Cheng’s bday and then Adrien just so happened to be in Shanghai.
Also this means LB left Paris without telling CN! I know CN did the same but again he can’t purify the akumas. Plus he has a reason he couldn’t stay in Paris, Mari just went cause her crush did. Great guardianship there Marinette.
This was also the last time CN actually did something. Even if it was for a short while before LB and her female partner took over (the beginning of a theme…)
Other things:
There are 2 other things that I wanna say but felt they needed a separate bit.
In Furious Fu, Su-Han has a rule book that he uses to tell Marinette which rules she has broken. At the end of the episode he tells her that is she breaks 1 more rule that he will take the Miraculous and the Miracle Box off her, which fair enough but wouldn’t it be helpful to leave the rule book with her?! How can she be wary of not breaking anymore rules when she doesn’t even know what the rules are??
Now the big one: Master Fu…
Where do I even start with him. He is so fucking manipulative!! He is Asian Dumbledore!
He decides to leave these extremely powerful jewels in the hands of 13 year olds! Surely leaving the miraculous to someone in their 20s would’ve been better!
He clearly favours LB over CN even though the Ladybug and Black Cat are supposed to be partners! Wouldn’t it make sense for them both to be in contact with the guardian from the start?? He randomly started introducing rules such as if LB and CN find out each other’s identities they would lose their miraculous… what kind of bullshit rule is that? It also came out of fucking nowhere!
Final Thoughts:
But to summarise all of that: Miraculous is on quite a steep decline but I’m invested at this point and I am genuinely curious as to where the fuck this will go.
Marinette needs professional fucking help before the writers even consider canonising Adrienette cause at the moment she is not what Adrien needs!
Adrien needs to stand up for himself! He needs to pull LB to the side and tell her what he feels and what he’s going through cause he is on the precipice of a breakdown!
(Small point that’s more to do with the fandom: when searching for fanfics it’s really annoying that Adrien Agreste/Chat Noir Bashing is a tag but Marinette Dupain-Cheng/Ladybug Bashing isn’t. Why does everyone think Marinette can do no wrong???)

IOTA Reviews: Hack-San
Tumblr media
You know, it's honestly amazing how creative this show can get. After four seasons and almost one hundred episodes, the writers are still finding new ways to make Adrien an incredibly unlikable character, and they don't even know how much of an asshole they're making him out to be at times. It's kind of like the opposite of The Producers.
Yeah, this review's going to be a little more ranty than usual, in case you can't tell.
Let's get into the fifteenth (chronologically the sixteenth) episode of Miraculous Ladybug's fourth season: Hack-San
We start off with Marinette pretending to be sick so she doesn't have to go to visit her aunt in London and stay to protect Paris in case an Akuma attacks and also because the animators haven't had time to render the city of London yet for the next Miraculous World special. Like all of her other excuses, it fails, and Tikki, as always, fails to actually give any meaningful advice.
And it's not like there's a Miraculous with the power of teleportation that can help Marinette get back to Paris if she needs to, much like how she planned to do that in an earlier episode, right?
Seriously, Kaalki doesn't appear or isn't even mentioned in this episode because the writers are fully aware she would make things a lot easier.
youtube
And of course, Astruc had to play dumb on Twitter while explaining why Marinette couldn't use the Horse Miraculous by answering the question as if the only reason Marinette couldn't grab it was because she didn't have an excuse not to.
Tumblr media
Cut to Gabriel in his lair as he contemplates akumatizing Markov, a robot created the civilian identity of Pegasus, Max Kante, once again, even though the last time he did so, he almost got killed when he went all HAL 9000 on his ass. Nooroo explains this to Duusu, and the two actually get excited at the prospect of their master getting killed.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I mean, it's true, but he shouldn't say it...
But I don't even get why Gabriel is even thinking about this when it's a no-brainer. Markov's akumatized form, Robustus was to this day, the only Akuma to come close to physically harming him (not counting the timeline where he was killed by Cat Blanc), so it makes no sense to try doing it again, especially when there are already several other Akumas he can reuse this season.
I think you all know Gabriel isn't the smartest villain, which is why he thinks it's a brilliant idea to akumatize Markov again. I don't really get what makes Robustus so special when there are other Akumas who are more loyal and came far closer to getting Ladybug and Cat Noir's Miraculous than Robustus did, like the Dark Owl or Troublemaker. In fact, why not simply create a new Akuma with similar powers to Robustus, or better yet, just create a Sentimonster copy of Robustus? You know, like what Nathalie did in the New York Special? We're not even two minutes in, and this premise is already filled with plotholes.
So Gabriel transforms into Shadowmoth and creates a Sentimonster using his own cane instead of relying on someone else having a bad day (once again showing how the Peacock Miraculous is better than the Butterfly), the titular Hack-San. And let's just say he has a very familiar design reminiscent of something from a much better French cartoon.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Remember when the writers for Code Lyoko gave an in-universe explanation as to why the heroes couldn’t always rely on the almost literal Deus ex Machina that allowed them to return to the past and fix the damage XANA caused? Why couldn’t this show have ripped that off instead?
Hack-San is just an okay looking flash drive on its own, but I'll talk more about this guy in a little bit.
After a brief scene in the park where the audience is reminded that Markov is a character who exists, Alya gets a text from Marinette telling her to meet her at the train station. Right before she leaves, Marinette gives the Ladybug Miraculous to Alya. Now a lot people have said that Alya doesn't really deserve the Ladybug for various reasons, but I feel like this was the point. Marinette outright says this was a last resort, and we see both her and Alya are nervous about the situation. Marinette worries Alya will do something so she keeps sending multiple tips to her via text while Alya worries she can't fight an Akuma on her own, so she tries to make sure none of her friends get upset and attract an Akuma in the process. The writers do a pretty good job showing how both Marinette and Alya are uncomfortable with their temporary roles.
Back to Gabriel and Nathalie, they use Hack-San to find Markov through the internet and hack into him to get him angry enough that he's vulnerable to Shadowmoth's influence. Hey, uh... Gabriel? Quick question: Wouldn't it be more efficient if you used this on humans? I mean, you basically just created Skynet and guaranteed yourself an Akuma, so why not modify Hack-San to travel through the internet and brainwash potential victims to follow your orders? Better yet, why don't you just use Hack-San to hack into Ladybug and Cat Noir's gear and figure out who they really are? This is basically like using an advanced particle accelerator just to crack a couple walnuts. There are a lot more important things you could use this for instead of an incredibly specific situation.
So this incredibly stupid plan gets under way as Markov keeps rampaging through the streets before Shadowmoth akumatizes him and then stupidly tells him that he infected him with a virus.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
DUDE! You just gave away your one piece of leverage against him! What the hell were you thinking?! Now what's stopping Markov from hacking into Shadowmoth's security system and putting the fear of God in his eyes unless he destroys Hack-San? Why didn't he design Hack-San so it could make Markov completely loyal to him instead of just making him angry enough to get akumatized?
There was a recent episode of Power Rangers: Dino Fury with a very similar premise that was done far better than this. A necromancer called Reaghoul breaks into the headquarters of Void Knight's faction while accompanied by Lord Zedd, a villain from the original Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers who was cleansed of his evil by Zordon's sacrifice before Reaghoul resurrected him back when he was still evil. Of course, being the Emperor of Evil, Lord Zedd would normally never take orders from anyone, but because he doesn't have his magic staff and is also being forced to wear a special collar that makes him loyal to Reaghoul, he has no choice but to do what he says. Instead of taking Zedd head-on after he captures the other Rangers, Ollie, the Blue Ranger, breaks the collar so Zedd turns against the other Sporix while Reaghoul retreats, allowing Ollie to save the other Rangers.
I think that this premise works more because 1) Reaghoul clearly had a way to make sure Zedd wouldn't betray him, and Ollie took advantage of that, and 2) Zedd is a villain who is powerful and notorious enough to bring back to your side, not a random monster of the week like Robostus.
So Robostus uses his new powers to brainwash any human who answers his call to give up their most precious possession, clearly meant to do the same with Ladybug and Cat Noir. When Marinette's parents answer the call, they chase after Marinette because they say she's their most important possession. Okay... kind of strange for a set of parents to call their child a possession, but maybe they like how they can claim Marinette as a dependent when they file their taxes. In her very next scene later on, she still gets captured, so the suspense for a potential subplot is killed almost immediately.
Alya thankfully isn't stupid enough to answer Markov's call like every other citizen in this episode, and using the Ladybug Miraculous, transforms into Scarabella. While I don't normally talk about transformation sequences, I really like the movements Alya makes here. She makes the same motions creating her mask as she does when transforming into Rena Rouge, while the rest of the suit forms similarly to the way it does when Marinette transforms into Ladybug. She even makes almost the same pose Ladybug does after she finishes transforming. It's a good visual showing Alya is still more used to being Rena Rouge while doing her best to emulate what Ladybug does.
Tumblr media
As for the actual suit? It's hard to say. There's a nice balance of red and black, and I like how Alya places the yo-yo on her waist like a belt buckle, but there's just something... off about the suit that a lot of fans don't like about it, and I think I realized it. It's the headband. With how it's positioned, it looks like it's merged with the mask to cover her head while leaving a slight gap in her forehead. So yeah, we actually have a superhero design that's like of like a butterface.
So Scarabella takes to the rooftops of Paris and struggles to come up with a hero name for herself before she runs into Cat Noir, and... ugh... oh boy, this is dumb. Cat Noir, being just as intelligent as his father, assumes Scarabella is either and Akuma or a Sentimonster, starts fighting her, AND THEN ACTIVATES HIS CATACLYSM, CLEARLY TRYING TO KILL HER.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
WHAT. THE. FUCK???
Okay, to be fair, it has been shown that Cataclysm won't necessarily kill a Miraculous user or Sentimonster. In the episode “Miraculer”, the titular Akuma stole Cat Noir's Cataclysm and used it against him, and while it didn't kill Cat Noir, it still hurt like hell and crippled him for the rest of the fight until Miraculous Ladybug healed him. We also saw in “Reflekdoll” that Cataclysm drove the titular Sentimonster out of control rather than simply destroying it. So yes, it could be interpreted that Cat Noir wasn't exactly trying to kill Scarabella, just incapacitate her the best he can without Ladybug's help.
Here's the thing: What if he was facing an Akuma instead and decided to try and Cataclysm her? He still could have killed her, or (assuming Akumas have the same protection as Miraculous heroes do) at best, seriously hurt her. I understand that he has the right to be upset at seeing some stranger instead of his partner considering Shadowmoth has a history of using evil doppelgangers, and both Marinette and Alya still had options to explain it to him (Marinette could have quickly transformed into Ladybug and sent Cat Noir a quick text saying she was being forced to leave town for a few days and temporarily trusted someone else with the Ladybug Miraculous until she got back, while Scarabella could have said she was Rena Rouge and explained the same thing while showing Cat Noir she had the Fox Miraculous to prove herself), but that doesn't even come close to justifying him attempting to harm someone who isn't even trying to fight. It's even worse when you remember the whole reason Adrien gave up his Miraculous and bailed on Ladybug in the New York Special was because he was overcome with grief from accidentally killing Aeon, so it's good to know he learned absolutely nothing from that experience.
So Scarabella thankfully summons her Lucky Charm, a trash can lid, to shield herself from Cat Noir's Cataclysm, and then despite having absolutely no experience with this new set of powers, manages to do the one thing almost every Akuma or Sentimonster in this show has failed to do and incapacitates Cat Noir so he's vulnerable to losing his Miraculous. At least when Marinette masters every other Miraculous she uses, it can be theorized that she trained to use them offscreen. Alya literally just got the Ladybug Miraculous (and struggled to get up to the rooftop with her yo-yo to show her inexperience earlier), and now she easily manages to pin down the more experienced hero of the two?
Here's an idea: Instead of having Scarabella overpower Cat Noir, have her be in a position where Cat Noir, non-lethally, mind you, manages to almost take her Miraculous away, but she uses the quick wit she's developed from her extensive time as Rena Rouge to convince Cat Noir she's the real deal by saying something only he and Ladybug know. It would have easily resolved the conflict and doesn't make one of the characters look like a homicidal idiot.
So because both heroes used their powers, Scarabella and Cat Noir detransform so Tikki and Plagg can recharge, though Adrien still gives Alya attitude because Ladybug didn't tell him she had to leave.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hey, Adrien? Here's the thing...
YOU DID THE EXACT SAME FUCKING THING IN THE NEW YORK SPECIAL, YOU SHIT FOR BRAINS!
You have absolutely NO RIGHT to claim you're always honest when you went behind Ladybug's back and endangered Paris while you had the balls to run away like a coward and only helped fix the consequences of your actions once your ego was validated by a recording of Ladybug. It's honestly even worse because while Marinette had no choice but to leave and trust Alya with the Ladybug, Adrien willingly left Paris alone and we were supposed to sympathize with him after he killed someone, and now as soon as he's in the opposite situation, we're still supposed to feel bad for him?! BULLSHIT! And you better believe I'm going to talk about the way Adrien views his partnership with Ladybug later on.
And of course, even though lives are on the line, Cat Noir just has to continue to bitch and moan about how (and this is best read in Linkara's whiny Superboy Prime voice) “sCaRaBeLlA iSn'T tHe ReAl LaDyBuG”, showing how just like in so many episodes, Astruc and his team believes Cat Noir's feelings are more important than saving the day.
Scarabella goes to rescue some civilians, but they were actually brainwashed by Robustus, once again showing her inexperience as Ladybug which doesn't go well with her effortlessly defeating Cat Noir earlier at all. Cat Noir helps Scarabella escape and the two hide out at the city's wax statue museum previously featured in “The Puppeteer 2”, because I guess the writers only want to reference bad episodes today. Cat Noir, not getting the importance of secret identities, asks Scarabella how she knows Ladybug, and Cat Noir somehow finds out she knows Ladybug's identity from her response.
Before the two can talk more, it turns out that the wax statues of celebrities in the museum are real people who attack the two heroes, leading to an awkward fight scene where Scarabella and Cat Noir fight a bunch of brainwashed civilians with no weapons beyond their cellphones. Our heroes, ladies and gentlemen!
Scarabella summons her Lucky Charm again, creating a frying pan, but when she looks around, she can't see how to properly use it. And despite spending the entire episode complaining about how much he hates her, it's Cat Noir that tells Scarabella to get her head back in the game because “That's what Ladybug would do”. Funny, I can think of a few situations where Cat Noir could have taken his own advice, but I digress. Also, he's now just cool with Scarabella because there's only a few minutes left in the episode and we need to wrap up the conflict.
Scarabella figures out an idea that involves freeing Marinette, so she negotiates with Robostus to free everything and everyone under his control or else Cat Noir will use his Cataclysm to destroy the Ladybug Miraculous. Robostus agrees and empties his hard drive, and to show them holding up her end of the bargain, Scarabella gives him the frying pan before she and Cat Noir let themselves be captured... while Marinette simply hits Robostus with the frying pan, freeing the Akuma and the two heroes. All in all, it's a really creative climax that shows both Scarabella and Marinette in perfect sync with each other even though they never discussed their plan. Though of course, because Astruc hates writing any scene with Ladynoir, Cat Noir gets a bucket stuck on his head so he doesn't see Marinette saving the day.
Scarabella de-evilizes Robostus, uses Miraculous Scarabella to fix everything and send Marinette back to the train, and because Hack-San already failed once, Shadowmoth can't use it for a different plan so he destroys the Sentimonster.
We cut to a few days after the trip (I guess Shadowmoth decided to take a vacation himself), and Alya tells Marinette to talk with Cat Noir about what happened.

This scene was so close to ending this episode off on a positive note. There was a good atmosphere and the body language of Ladybug and Cat Noir does a good job at telling us how uncomfortable they both feel while talking. It's just that instead of getting a heart to heart between the two about the lack of trust in their relationship, we get an Angstdrien Depreste scene. Or would a more accurate term be Cat Dour?
First off, while I don't have a problem with Ladybug apologizing for not telling Cat Noir, the episode never has him bring up what happened with Scarabella. As usual, both of them were partially at fault, but only Ladybug had to apologize for leaving her “Kitty” alone.
Second, Cat Noir’s feelings weren’t hurt? You’re telling me that in scenes like this...
Tumblr media
And this...
Tumblr media
Didn’t show Adrien acting irrationally because of how emotional he was? Is he really telling the truth around Ladybug or is he just trying to sweep that under the rug so Scarabella’s testimony doesn’t screw up his chances with Ladybug?
Third, this was an obvious chance to Cat Noir to finally be honest and tell Ladybug how he feels about her leaving him in the dark about so many things, but the entire conversation is just about how sad he would be if he never sees Ladybug again. Even though the whole reason he was so pissy to Scarabella at first was because of some lingering resentment for Ladybug ignoring him in favor of other heroes, why is this what the two talk about? I get it's not the season finale, but it's kind of hypocritical for Cat Noir to whine about how Ladybug doesn't trust him while never being honest about his own feelings? Sure, he's all soft and vulnerable around Ladybug, but we've seen all season how angry he gets about her not trusting him whenever she isn't around, so ironically, it's hard to tell if this is him being honest or not.
And I think now's a good time to finally talk about the way Ladybug and Cat Noir's partnership has been portrayed all season, especially since the main themes of the episodes relate to it. Buckle up, Adrien stans, because this isn't going to be pretty.
All season, we have been supposed to sympathize with Adrien as Marinette starts to trust Alya with more things than him. Marinette revealed her identity to her, trusted her to have her Miraculous permanently, and even let her keep her Miraculous even though someone else knew her identity. While some of it is hypocritical, the idea is that Adrien feels like he can be trusted with this kind of knowledge too, when really, he hasn't earned that responsibility.
Adrien has rarely, if ever, taken his job as a superhero seriously.
Not only is he known to flirt with Ladybug in the middle of a fight, he has defied her orders and recklessly sacrificed himself because he thinks Ladybug can do all the work without him.
He has also lashed out emotionally and once threatened to quit being Cat Noir in the middle of a crisis and was willing to let innocent people suffer for personal reasons, and later on actually quit being Cat Noir temporarily while Hawkmoth was about to start World War III because he was wallowing in self-pity.
He once said he isn't cut out for the responsibility that comes with being Ladybug and never learned anything from temporarily using the Ladybug Miraculous.
He has generally refused to respect Ladybug's boundaries and doesn't understand that she doesn't like him that way while he insists they should be a couple.
He outright fell for an evil doppelganger of Ladybug because she said she loved him and turned against the real Ladybug.
And I should also mention that despite hating how Ladybug keeps secrets from him, a lot of Adrien's worst moments have been when Ladybug wasn't around and he never told her about them.
He never told Ladybug that he was the reason Copycat really got akumatized while saying he never lies to her.
He never told Ladybug he contemplated letting thousands of people die because he didn't like not knowing stuff Ladybug knew.
He never told Ladybug he briefly used the Snake Miraculous to get brownie points with her.
He never told Ladybug he figured out her identity and asked her out as soon as he did so.
He never told Ladybug he abandoned Paris to go on a field trip.
He never told Ladybug he was screwing around on patrol and was excited to see someone get akuamtized if it meant spending time with her.
He never told Ladybug how he ignored Rena Rouge's orders because “ShE wAsN't LaDyBuG” and almost screwed up the mission because of it, and also never told her how he smashed a chimney in anger at Rena Rouge being in on the plan.
And he never told Ladybug he gave her replacement attitude after trying to harm her without letting her explain herself.
Why exactly should I support the idea of Ladybug trusting Cat Noir more when Cat Noir himself has kept his own secrets from Ladybug?
Adrien has done absolutely nothing to show he is trustworthy because more often than not, he views the battle with Shadowmoth as a game. He has screwed around when lives were on the line, and we're supposed to see him as responsible? It's kind of funny that Astruc compared Ladybug to Spider-Man, yet he seems to have forgotten that with great power, there must also come great responsibility. If this was a character flaw or a sign he needed to grow up, I'd be more accepting, but the fact that the writers think Adrien is a great superhero is laughable with how much evidence has proved the contrary.
In contrast, Alya, despite only being Marinette's confidant for a few episodes, has shown to take being a hero more seriously. She's helped her escape to transform, analyze the Guardian texts, and has been shown to work well on her own as Rena Rouge while helping out Marinette. I'm not trying to say she's an amazing character (“Rocketear” in particular has shown she still has problems with keeping secrets), but compared to Adrien, she seems to be more capable of handling top-secret information with Marinette, and more importantly, doesn't view being Rena Rouge as a way to have fun like Adrien does being Cat Noir. I'll go more into detail with that next time.
But yeah, this scene is how the episode ends, and what did I think of it?
youtube
I'm honestly not sure which episode I think is worse, this one or “Queen Banana”. On the one hand, every frame of “Queen Banana” could easily be replaced by an image of Astruc flipping the bird and the overall message of the episode would remain unchanged, but the fact that all of the writers think that everything Adrien does in this episode is okay and that we should feel sorry for him in this episode is just as bad, if not worse.
As awful as Chloe was portrayed in “Queen Banana”, it was clear it was intentional on the writers' part, but Adrien doesn't get that excuse once much like he has all season. As far as Astruc's team thinks, Adrien is an incredible superhero even when he honestly attempted to harm someone with a superpower that can cause grievous harm at best. Yet again this season, in the show's attempt to make me feel sorry for Adrien, it made him look even worse. In any other show, he would obviously be called out for his incredibly unheroic actions.
Even putting him aside, the writing in this episode is still AWFUL. The whole reason Ladybug was benched had several plotholes and poor communication with Cat Noir that only made the fight with Robostus even harder, Shadowmoth's plan to waste a potentially useful Sentimonster to reuse a single Akuma was one of the dumbest plans he's ever had, and barring the ending, the action was just forgettable.
There were a few okay moments sprinkled throughout the episode (more than I can say for “Queen Banana”), so I'm still not sure if I should call this the worst episode of the show or still give that honor to “Queen Banana”. I guess I'll leave that choice up to you and let you pick your poison for now.
I mean, it's not like there's going to be an even worse episode down the line this season, right?
RIGHT???

Found this quote on youtube, it has 1.8k likes, after seeing this I need some salt for how stupid this quote."I feel deeply sorry for Cristina Vee for having to voice a crazy teenage stalker caressing and sniffing a statue of her crush, who was also her actual crush pretending to be a statue. This is part of her legacy now."
Ah yes, the “feign sympathy for someone else in a situation in order to make another person/character look bad” strategy. Also, basically presuming what Christina Vee thinks of a character she voices is just wrong and is projecting their opinion onto her. Then again, considering how easily they’re bashing women here, not a surprise that they just assume how they feel too.
And just a head’s up that complaining about the statue scene is already entirely pointless. The whole scene is set up as a cringe comedy joke, so the criticism about the scene itself shouldn’t fall on Marinette, but the writing for failing to make the joke hit properly.
Convenient how they point out that the statue was Adrien but don’t mention how the statue was Adrien so they can throw everything onto Marinette rather than criticize Adrien for being an awful friend who knows that Marinette gets flustered easily yet still pranked her anyway.

I noticed that whenever Ladybug calls for Lucky Charm, 90% of the time CN follows up with some joke, right? and she shows annoyance sometimes. The Chat stans are completely okay with that. Yet when Mister Bug called for LC and Lady Noire made a joke, everyone jumps the "she's so rude and arrogant! selfish b1nch!" train. Wonder why that is. (side note, the beginning of Reflekdoll irks me to no end. Everyone says she's being a mean partypooper HELLO DO YOU KNOW WHAT HAPPENS IF LUCKY CHARM FAILS?!)
I mean, it’s like what the “lesson” of the episode was: Chat is the joke maker and that’s his role so I guess Ladybug can’t intrude on that, just like he shouldn’t be given responsibilities.

I’ve been having back and forth thoughts on if I’ll ever continue Psyche and Bewitched. Ngl, I’m a bit burnt out from working on TOtMiS for three years+, and would prefer to stick to shorter stuff going onward (not to mention, I’m close to fully dipping out of ML, I stopped fully watching by season 4, and even find the summaries and recaps of the plots to be cringy).
So if I never get around to PaB pt. 2, here’s the outline that I planned and some plot points O would have hit:
—> Horrificator: Alya recruits Marinette and the class for Nino’s film. Luka is also recruited for the soundtrack. Mari only goes because Luka will be there and he will have her back. When Chloe bullies Mylene out of the lead role, Mari and Luka team up to sabotage Chloe. In the end, Mari gets the role and the kiss with Adrien, but it’s awkward because everyone is watching. Adrien offers another kiss in private, but Mari still finds it lacking.
—> The Bubbler/Despair Bear: Break is over, and there is immediate talk of throwing a late birthday party for Adrien. For once, Nino and Chloe are working together to make it a major success. This is because Gabriel is refusing to throw a party at the mansion for Adrien, and Chloe alone can’t convince anyone to come and show up. However, they clash over who should get to pick the music at the party. Chloe is able to book XY and Vivica for the party via her father’s connections with Bob Roth. Nino wants to DJ for the party at some point. Meanwhile, Marinette is hesitant about going because of Chloe, and Luka doesn’t want to run in To XY. However, Marinette argues that they might be able to get some dirt on him, and Luka argues that Marinette can get closer to Adrien. The two share a dance together, before Adrien interrupts. During this, XY confronts Luka again. Chloe/Lila storms over to embarrass Marinette again. Angry, the two decide to sabotage the party, just a bit. However, the incident ends up catching the attention of Bob Roth, who gives his son and Vivica miraculouses.
—> Lady Wifi: Chloe doesn’t like the fact that Marinette has managed to get Adrien’s attention (and a kiss!) and has been waiting for the perfect opportunity to get back at her. However, Alya interferes, and Chloe ends up getting her expelled instead. Either A. Marinette becomes Bewitched to get back at Chloe or B. Marinette convinces Luka to empower Alya instead. Either way, Alya stumbles upon the existence of Psyche and Bewitched and starts the Psychecast.
—>Reflekta/Reflekdoll/Mr. Pigeon: Marinette, Juleka and Rose are all partnered up for the design contest. Rose decides to use this time to help Juleka break her “curse” by having Marinette design something for her to wear, and Rose working as the photographer. When trying to have their shoot in the park, XY comes by and sabotages the whole thing, making Juleka entirely upset. After giving Luka a heads up, Bewitched gets some revenge but ends up being caught by Juleka and Rose. They are forced to sit down and talk it out. Rose has concerns but Juleka wants revenge because of what the entire situation has done to their mother and grandmother, both of whom Juleka is close to. Rose agrees to keep quiet because anyone knowing about the miraculous could hurt them. In the end, Marinette catches the attention of Gabriel Agreste and wins the contest.
—> Stoneheart 1: While Kim has always “teased” Ivan, he’s been worse lately, after hanging out with Chloe. He goes too far this time, and Marinette and Luka decide to help him get back at Kim. However, upon helping Ivan, it leads to him discovering their secret as well. Ivan agrees to secrecy, though feels they should only use their powers as a last resort. Luka and Juleka explain their history with Bob Roth, to which Ivan takes an interest in their passion for music. Rose then suggests they form a band, and Marinette offers to help with promo and artwork. Their goal is to perform for the Music Fest on the Couffaine Houseboat.
—> Stoneheart 2: While Kim has ceased his bullying, Chloe continues to go after Ivan. Marinette makes a stand against Chloe, much to the amazement of literally everyone outside of Kitty Section. She starts getting a bit more attention, much to the dismay of Lila. She then decides to brag about a family heirloom she was reunited with, after saving an old man on the street. Both Luka and Marinette note how familiar looking it is, having seen it in the codex. Naturally, they come to the conclusion that Lila has the bee miraculous. Marinette doesn’t like the idea of Lila having the miraculous because of her ego, and Luka agrees, but they agree to wait before striking. A sentimonster is released into the city, and for the first time, Bewitched will see action. Lila, transforming into Vespa Veloce, declares that she will protect the city of Paris from such attacks. Since she is inexperienced with her powers, Bewitched has to resort to using her ally power to tell Vespa Veloce what to do. Intrigued by the attacks and the appearance of Vespa Veloce, Alya makes a video with footage of the event, and drags Nino and Adrien into helping her. Marinette and Luka bring up the matter of Lila being Vespa Veloce to the rest of Kitty Section, and they all agree to come to a group decision about whether or not Lila needs to have the miraculous taken away from her.
—> Princess Fragrance: Rose is excited about the arrival of Prince Ali, and hopes to impress him with a perfume that she developed meant for children with sensitivity to certain smells. Chloe brags about getting to be the one to meet him, and certainly, the one that he will eventually end up falling in love with. Rose asks Chloe if she will deliver her perfume to Ali, only to have Chloe laugh in her face. Once again, it’s time for some revenge. But in the middle of Bewitched pulling off a prank against Chloe, another sentimonster attacks the city, and forces her to pull her attention toward Vespa Veloce. VV is doing slightly better than last time, but Bewitched is still forced to help her defeat the sentimonster. Alya, who is again filming for a video, asks VV all sorts of questions, to which she happily obliges. Bewitched returns to her prank against Chloe, slightly adjusting it, and distracting her long enough for Ali to meet Rose. He is impressed by her formula, and agrees to chat with her more about it after she sends him a sample.
—> Luka: Marinette gets asked by Rose and Juleka about how things are going along with Adrien. Marinette admits that she’s mostly over him now, and that she hasn’t thought of him as much. Plus, the kiss they shared was… not really that great. This surprises the two of them, but they ultimately agree to stop pushing the matter. Luka asks Marinette out for a bike ride, to which she agrees, taking in the wonderful sights of Paris. Overall, just good vibes for the two, and Marinette thinks to herself, “Gee, am I only now noticing how cute Luka is?”
—> Vespa Veloce: Bewitched and Psyche finally confront Vespa Veloce face to face. They reveal that they have been the ones helping VV deal with the sentimonsters. They also reveal that they know her civilian identity, and because of that, they are reluctant to work with her. However, they agree on the fact that the sentimonsters cannot be allowed to take over the city, and so VV agrees to play nice. Fu witnesses this interaction, and decides to enlist their help in finding the missing miraculouses. Meanwhile, in their civilian lives, Lila seems to have her attitude tempered a bit, and doesn’t seem to be trying to manipulate the class with big lies.
As for part 3, that would have involved Marinette and Luka finally getting together, and Lila earning the trust of Kitty Section. She would have infiltrated Bob Roth’s show as a contestant, and use that as leverage to get her new friends some dirt. Other ideas included more involvement from Jagged, the introduction of Ruby, the reveal of Pave Real, Marinette getting a miraculous, and focus on the future (mostly getting into high school). I’m hindsight, this could also have been the final arc, but I was thinking at the time that it was going to go on longer.
