Local Heroes by Nspired1 Disclaimer: Image Not Mine Summary:
Firefighter and paramedic Claire Redfield is just trying to get through her shifts on the ambulance in September of 1998 when a nightmarish pandemic hits her city. She, along with the other emergency personnel, must make a stand if they want to survive through the week. It doesn't hurt that the cute rookie who pulled her over previously still hasn't lost his charm. Men are weird sometimes.
--- Jill Valentine is one of two S.T.A.R.S. left in the city. In the wake of Umbrella's apathy, the B & E Specialist finds strength in those still serving in her community. The one she didn't expect, is also the one she can't help but gravitate towards.
(A Resident Evil 2 & 3 reimagining. This goes out to all those in service work. Thank you for what you do.)

ok I'm back with another question abt resident evil but what's jill valentine's deal because she looks like she's suffered immensely and I love that in a blorbo. also I am not immune to women in tank tops showing off buff arms.
OK so jill<3333
A former S.T.A.R.S. member and a survivor of both the Mansion incident and the Raccoon city outbreak. After the Mansion incident she, Chris Redfiled and Rebecca Chambers started an investigation to uncover Umbrellas bioterrorism. Jill stayed in Raccoon to search for a secret Umbrella facility in the city, but was caught in the middle of an outbreak. A mutant named the "Nemesis" was sent into the city to hunt down the remaining S.T.A.R.S. member and eliminate them. (Resident Evil 3 1999 and 2020 remake follow Jill's journey as she tries to escape Nemesis and leave the city)
Later on Jill and Chris Redfiled founded an organization named BSAA (Bioterrorism Security Assessment Alliance), which is an international counter-terrorist organization to combat bioweapons and bioterror.
Jill and Chris would continue their hunt for Albert Wesker(former captain and a bioterrorist) they would end up raiding the Spencer estate to search for Oswell Spencer who they thought would have info on Wesker's location. They did find Wesker himself in the estate and fought him ending up Jill sacrificing herself for Chris and throwing herself and Wesker down a cliff and they both were deemed dead. (Resident Evil 5 Lost in Nightmares DLC 2010)
But both of them survived and Wesker ended up brainwashing Jill and planting a red bug into her chest to allow him full control of her. In the end she was saved by Chris, Sheva and Josh(other BSAA agents) and released from Wesker's control. (Resident Evil 5 2009)
ofc theres a LOT more to her and many many things happened in between bc this character has been around for a while. The new resident evil death island CGI movie seems to constraint on her trauma from being used as a slave under Wesker. and im so glad for that bc damn that has barley been touched upon.

This is an 18+ blog. Pretty much anything under the Ao3 archive warnings section, and then some can and will likely be represented here, so no histrionics, plz. I don't have a DNI or 'required reading' but do have 'things' listed at post bottom in case they are like deal breakers or whatever so you cannot say you weren't given advance warning as to my content. *I will not waste my time reading DNIs or Carrds. The block button is a great (sex) toy and you are free to use it at will. I sure as hell do.* +++ FAQ Who is this? Hi, I’m TTC
I write Nemesis and Jill boning a lot. For the plot, supposedly. Been doing so forever ago. What are you? An immortal sentient tentacle who moonlights as a jaded fandom old. I can and will out-drink you. What other names have you've gone by? I've lovingly been called That Tentacle and Server Satan. I'm a walking kink-filled perv factory full of bad ideas, hence the names. + What fics do you write? Fic list for the Devil's Saga AU. The Ships in the AU My AO3 + Tags for Blog Navigation Here. + (Con't under the cut for more general info and disclaimers)
Why is...this? Because I want to see more Nemesis/Jill content, and it’s a bitch to find. Also, after years of putting off even joining Tumblr, I wanna share my AU and keep this crack ship alive. Maybe even fanwank on my thoughts about Toll and Onery or even on Jill, the long-suffering bad bitch that Cap keeps forgetting has a compelling storyline right there. But this is mostly just blatant shilling of my AU + What’s your fandoms? Resident Evil. To be clear, I mainly stan RE3: Nemesis, not the remake one. The 1999 one. But in general, I like this goofy series, boulders, nonsense science, bad plot, and all. I do like other stuff that I might occasionally reblog. Could be silly shit like Helluva Boss/Hazbin Hotel or Arcane to heavy shit like BTD. I'm random like that. + Format of each post: A snippet, a link to Ao3. I’ll list any pertinent CWs if needed. My fics tend to be 18+ some of them marked with Creator Chose Not To Use Archive Warnings and DD:DNE (ie unapologetically dark shit cause RE is a survival horror franchise), so keep that in mind. I might drop early snips; I haven’t decided on that yet. + Is Nemmy -ever- nice in your fics? Pffft (well, he’s 'nice' in bursts, as in a burst of tentacles through Brad’s face). In seriousness, in my take on him, he’s complicated, having the ability to be kind, and caring but is a Tyrant through and through - basically closer to canon. I like canonical villains and I like my monsters monstrous and, at times, barely grasping that human/monster line. Expect infestations and murder. + What is your stance on RE3 (1999) and RE3: Nemesis (2020) 1. remake Carlos got the glow up omg 2. Jill was sassy in both and I do love og but ngl remake!Jill was so done and I feels her 3. the monsterfucker vibes was mostly immaculate 4. og Nemesis was hotter and scarier. 3make massacred my boy (I don't judge those that like 3make, but maaan my boi T.T) like my biggest gripe along with the cut content was the game missing the point of Nemmy entirely reducing him to an annoying superman jumping nuisance and honestly lessening the N/J shippy vibes for me + Do you do fic requests? RPs? No. I simply don’t have the focus/time to do requests or things outside of my stories. I write what I want when I want. + Do you do DMs or Asks? I just flit in the night and talk when I feel like it. I prefer all convos in the broad daylight on public posts. But I’ll open my Asks. Be stupid, and I’ll simply close them. Capisce? Also if you DM me wastes of time things like 'Hi', 'hello' - the kinda shit ppl mock on dating sites especially with a pretty much blank profile, you'll be blocked. In fact, I block pretty freely as I value my time. + Don't Whine, You Know What I'm About [Disclaimers To Save People Time] This Tentacle posts here: -sex acts that ranges from soft to oh gods please don’t kill me -urk- -tentacle murder/parasitic 'fun'/horrible things occurring -high/low brow story drama (think Gothic Horror-esque) -crack ships mixed in with canon with zero regard about their 'purity' -monsterfucker shit, duh This Tentacle: -believes that fiction does not have the power of a death note over one's actions and believes people are not inherently stupid or unable to understand for themselves what they engage in -holds sex positive/pagan/kink and leather/poly/queer friendly/profic views -is against the -isms and/or -phobias used against others -laughs at killjoy puritans; your hell/churchy-speak means nothing to me a lifelong heathen eldritch egg laying being If you hate any of these you’ll -not- have a fun time with my content. Also, this shouldn't have to be said, but kiddos (under 18) Be not seen or heard as per ye old adult fandom rules. I reject all signal boosting requests/callouts; promotions will be at MY discretion. (More than likely, the answer will be 'no'.) We team SALS/DLDR/YKINMKBYKIOK in these parts. Be freely stupid with your ships; none of it’s real. Fandom is stupid, don’t take it so serious. Also, the murderkink. Gotta have the murderkink and worms. A'ight, Enjoy!

Controversial Video Game Opinion: Resident Evil 3 (2020)
So this title was released right after the Resident Evil 2 Remake and as a bundle with Project: REsistance for $60, effectively a $30 game on its own. Looking at it from that perspective, I can at least somewhat justify the shorter length. Having no Clocktower segment and just having Jill get knocked out until the next scene with her is pretty blatantly just a cheap scene transition and a way to shift the control to Carlos.
The criticisms towards Jill Valentine's character in this game especially rub me the wrong way. The writers clearly from the outset wanted to incorporate her past experiences and the trauma that comes with them, having to watch people you know die and facing death yourself does a lot to warp someone's personality and make just the day to day experience of living much more difficult. That and not wearing a tube top is apparently a crime.
Having said that, it sucks how her apartment is this beautifully designed space with tons of personality and some really cool details, but your only interaction with it is walking around until the Trash Man comes to cave your head in.
On that note, Nemesis. I have no issues with his design or story appearances. What I do have a problem with is his gameplay. Unlike Mr. X, who was mostly free to roam the playable space on his own, creating a really organic enemy, Nemesis in this game mostly sticks to scripted encounters and often travels by teleporting out of the map (not before doing his own Spider-Man Pose) so that he can ambush the player by respawning closer to them. It makes sense why they do this, Jill is just so much faster than Leon/Claire in the previous game, and it helps Nemesis avoid falling too far behind, something Mr. X did a lot.
My issue is just how obvious it is that he does this. There are a lot of areas in Downtown Raccoon City where you can easily bait this movement and wait for him to slowly load into the correct spot before he attacks you. It's really inorganic and feels like a cheap rug-pull for experienced players who have a sense of how the game operates.
The Boss Fights are all way better than RE2-R tbh. I love that game to bits, but G-2 Birkin can go straight back to hell with his tiny arena and multiple charging attacks. Meanwhile the only Nemesis fight that kinda sucks is unfortunately his final encounter. On lower difficulties it's a joke, you only die if you forget how to play or panic and take too long. On higher difficulties the game literally makes enemies perform their animations faster in order to be more aggressive. This gives Nemesis an instakill combo if you have to get caught by one attack in the chain. Impressively unfair feature for an otherwise boring enemy.
Oh and the last part, the game's best feature is its Item Shop. Normally these things sucks because they're just a place to load up on consumables and be harassed with price tags. In RE3-R, you're awarded currency based on achievements and can spend them on whatever you want, like an Arcade Counter. This is great for accessibility too, since even mediocre players can probably grab the Infinite Ammo AR and use it to make the rest of the game much easier for themselves. Compare this to RE2-R, where only specific achievements unlocked specific items and most were things like Concept Art or Viewable Models.
This game also has viewable Models, but the controls are kinda weird and the game's small size indirectly makes it a less interesting place to browse since there's way less to look at. Alternate Model poses and booba physics were also added to iterate from the RE2-R version.
Lastly, the actual gameplay. I personally feel like it's one of the more difficult games I've played, and a large part of that is needing to depend on reaction time much more than prior titles. Dodge rolls and QTE grabs are the emphasis over Consumables, which definitely threw players off when they first got grabbed and the Knife did nothing to stop them from being bitten. It's lame how Zombies were mechanically downgraded for performance issues. Not only do they go completely stiff upon death, this actually ruins their 'ambush' behavior by making it instantly possible to tell if they're still alive based on whether or not their body shudders when attacked. In RE2-R they always moved when hit, so sometimes they could fake death by just not reacting more than that. You know, like a Zombie.
To cap this off, I actually love Resident Evil 3 (2020). It's amazing on the first playthrough and remains a fun game to Speedrun, or played for the challenge. I feel like it was mostly disliked for the changes it made from the original, and for clearly being an underfunded title, which is much worse considering how good Capcom and Resident Evil were doing in terms of sales. They did not need to rush this game, but what's done is done.
Also Project Resistance still sucks. Play Dead by Daylight, or don't, maybe go on a walk or talk to your friends.

“Resident evil 3” (2020)
What a glorious romp. Resident Evil 3 (henceforth RE3) starts with good times, adds more good times, and is over with pretty much nothing boring put into it. A remarkably focused and fun game.
This also means it’s pretty short. It’s kinda like a music EP, it sprints out the gate and never slows down. I consider it this a superb move, one that makes RE3 rather re-playable.
For the first time in the series, Resident Evil has a side character that is actually fun. In fact, those sections with Carlos are possibly the best parts of the game. Somehow they got “Contra” peanut butter in my Resident Evil chocolate.
There was never a moment playing with Ashley (Resident Evil 4), Ada or Sherry (Resident Evil 2 & RE2) or anyone else that was as fun as Carlos blasting away at the zombies with machine gun fire.
In fact I dare say I rather liked this part more than the entire play through of Leon or Claire in the preceding Resident Evil 2 (2019) remake, aka RE2. It’s a smooth update, almost like “Street Fighter 2 Turbo”.
A lot of this enjoyment was based on playing RE2 (which Carlos’ first section is based on) and knowing how I would want to blaze through the police station while still experiencing it in a new way. I even remembered the same safe combinations.
Mowing down zombies with machine guns in short sprint levels that are stilly moody and creepy is fun.
Jill’s sections are enjoyable as well, and here the RE3 team are trying new ideas.
I was compelled and thrown off kilter at the opening sequences in Jill’s apartment, entirely in first person perspective. It’s an unusual gambit but really drew me in.
I really enjoyed the jewel puzzle stand, where each new piece gives a different unlockable item. It makes it more fun to constantly return to it, knowing there are multiple rewards.
The puzzle pieces in general are pretty sparse, but this is a deliberate decision to increase the pacing of the game, and it completely works.
This also allows the personality of the game to shine through. The implication that the design of Mega man for the American nes release is a popular character in this universe is hysterical.
Other jolts of personality are the letters in the game (particularly the “love” letter about the sewer creatures, and their “character flaws”), the rolling of a certain head, and Carlos inflecting a nasally nerdy voice trying to fool the voice ID door code.
These moments underscore the decision of the game designers; this is more an action romp, of agreeable meat headiness. Of bravado charm.
Carlos himself is clearly based on Keanu Reeves’ John Wick and (to a lesser extent) Jill takes a grab from Milla Jovovich’s Alice in the Resident Evil film series.
Indeed, the shorter run time allowed the developers to fine tune the game and add their goofy humor.
I’ve mentioned this run time again not to complain, but to make clear this is a game that is more interested in fun, re-playability, and the utter lack of slogging through sections (first part RE2 mostly had, but was almost totally lacking concerning the 2nd and 3rd part).
This is a decision that comes from the top down. Even if many players will feel thwarted.
The biggest improvement between RE2 and RE3 is that the boss battles in the latter are excellent. Frequently surprising, often different, it is a series of challenges I look forward to setting new personal bests on.
I like Nemesis more than Mr X. His action figure type variants, with new weapons, are delightful.
X was good, but he largely only worked in tight spaces and was more annoying than scary after initial encounter. Since RE3 has a much bigger landscape it makes sense that this giant would be faster, can jump, use flamethrowers etc.
The enemies are in general all improvements over RE2. The sewer frogs do indeed have more personality than the clumps in RE2. The eyeball whips are more freaky than the garden bodies. The hunters, wow, what a sick bastard of an enemy.
The zombies are about equal, there is notably less body decay animation for them in RE3, but this is a decision based on having them in bigger numbers with more light. All is forgiven when the hospital hordes come battering in.
My few complaints are that the final form of nemesis is a step down (I’m over giant blobs as end bosses), there could be more impact weapons (shotguns, crossbows) in Carlos’ sections, and there are no extra modes.
The last part is somewhat mystifying considering RE2 had four mini scenarios and that engine execution was not half as fun as this one.
But in general this is a serious improvement over RE2. Honestly it’s more like a side story, as it compliments and fills in extra details to the environment of RE2, and contains none of the slog that is the back half of that game.
I’ve been advocating for short games with no filler for a while and here the bullseye is hit perfectly.
-/-/-///-
Nice to see the weapons and other rewards are unlockable through points. Why make a bazooka only for those who beat hardest difficulty in under 2 hours? What’s even the point then?
Though, again, why is there no infinite ammo for shotguns or explosion weapons below a bazooka, or weapons that are completely different than the main ones?
—//-\\_\__
I loved the remix parts in Nightmare mode (the return of Brad was hilarious and shocking) but I kinda wished it was playable below that difficulty. A sewer frog leading a pack of dogs is awesome, why should I have to bust my hump to get there?
-/-/-/-/-
I’ve never played 1999/PS1 Resident Evil 3: nemesis (REM). Honestly doesn’t matter, this was a total blast. I’m sure that enthusiasts who know REM by heart were mad, but that’s not the entry point for me playing RE3.
-/-/-/
Frankly I would much rather play 3 games exactly like this than remake a perfect game like resident evil 4.
Make them cheaper price wise and pump them out.
Maybe even with some dinosaurs in crisis…
—/-/:-//—
Hell, have a whole game of nothing but Carlos doing short parallel missions.
Maybe one where he keeps running into Mr X but this time he can actually die and you get ammo for taking him out
