Lute is aroace but she and Adam are « dating » bc people kept asking Lute out would never take no for an answer and it was making her uncomfortable

Despite everything Adam does care for Lute and is a good friend towards her hence why he agreed to the fake dating plan

Vaggie before getting her wings back would get HORRIBLE phantom pain from them and whenever Charlie would ask what was up she would always dodge the questions and Charlie wanting to respect her gfs boundaries wouldn’t push to much

Vaggies love language is acts of service and Charlie’s is physical touch

Charlie ADORES Vaggies wings she thinks they make her gf even more gorgeous then she already is

Vaggie is actually insecure of her wings as they remind her of a past she’s rather forget but Charlie fawning over them does make her like her wings a bit more

If Charlie is cold Vaggie will use her wings to make her warmer

After the battle against the exorcist Vaggie went back to thank Carmilla for her help and the two got to talking and ended bonding now they meet weekly at Carmillas to practice battle together (the both enjoy it greatly) and sometimes it leads to Vaggie staying for dinner

Carmilla Carmine is essentially Vaggies mom/mentor

Vaggie bonded with Carmillas daughters and they see eachother as sisters

Charlie will sometimes head over to cannibal town to give Rosie a visit and she now calls Rosie Auntie all the time

Vaggie brought Charlie to meet Carmilla and Charlie brought Vaggie to meet Rosie (both were super nervous to meet each others respective mom/aunt figure worried they wouldn’t approve)

Husk and Cherri used to hate eachother but after Angel forced them to hang out they grew to like eachother in a I hate u and hope u die/affectionate type of way

Angel does Cherris hair and I will not elaborate

Angel can’t cook for shit and almost set the hotel on fire many times (he’s now banned from the kitchen)

Vaggie however is a great chef!

Husk taught all the members of the hotel who didn’t already know how to play poker, poker

The hotel guests now have game night which is usually the entire cast struggling while Alastor, Husk and Vaggie sweep and have a rivalry between themselves the others are trying tho!

Vaggie and Angel actually like one another (PLATONICALLY) even considering one another one of their closest friends but neither would ever admit it out loud

Lucifer and Vaggie actually bonded a lot especially given both are fallen angels

When Lucifer found out why Vaggie was cast out and how Vaggie had to physically restrain him from (somehow don’t question how he'd even be able to get to heaven to do it) beating the shit out of Lute

Shickingly Lucifer, nifty and Husk are friends and hang out

in fact Lucifer knew Husk before the hotel and had already grown fond of him

Sir Pentious and Charlie are besties

Charlie was the first person who Sir Pentious actually told he liked Cherri (the others still knew but like he actually told Charlie)

Sir Pentious makes Alastor babysit the egg bois after the outing he had with them a while back

Sir Pentious does like Emily but she kinda makes him sad as she reminds him so much of Charlie and he cant see her anymore given she's currently in hell

Razzle was always super attached to Charlie but Dazzle wierdly enough got super attached to Vaggie making her even angrier with Lute when she killed him

Hello Hazbin community!

We need to talk about Alastor and aroace rep.

My qualifications: I’m an aroace who also, at times, feels attraction to others. I don’t know the specific name for it, but I like to think of it as my sexuality being in fluctuation. Sometimes romantic and/or sexual attraction is there, sometimes it isn’t and I’m completely repulsed by it all.

So, Alastor is canonically Asexual (and very much implied Aromantic via the VA and Viv, let’s be honest), and it seems the majority of you have taken that as a challenge of sorts? Like you see one off limits character and feel the need to ship him with everyone under the sun.

Don’t get me wrong, as long as you can separate fanon and canon- this isn’t really about you. But I am sick and tired of people drawing Fanart or writing FanFictions and excusing themselves by saying “Aroace is a spectrum!” Or “He’s in a QPR with so and so!” (let’s be so real, half of those ships I’m seeing are not anything close to a QPR). Please just say you did it because you wanted to- don’t try and make excuses to seem like an ally to the aroace community. I’d really much rather you draw it and not justify it than scramble to seem morally right. You’re not. Let’s all move on.

I would have no problem with this if it didn’t seem like such a big thing. Alastor is the ONE character who’s shipped THE MOST with every other character in Hazbin. That’s why this whole thing seems really icky to me. We don’t have much representation in media- I could count all the ace characters I know on one hand- and the one thing we have, no one seems to have any respect for.

I’m not really mad at anyone participating, I’m honestly just disappointed in a (mostly) queer community.

Thoughts of an aroace shipper and selfshipper:

[Putting this here on this blog as it mentions self shipping.]

As someone who’s aroace but also comfortable with attraction when it comes to fiction, I honestly feel confused about the whole shipping discourse when it comes to any aroace character that’s on the spectrum. Because, personally, as an aroace, I don’t mind people shipping aroace characters for fun, as long as they’re respectful of their canon identity. Plus, when it comes to fan creations and such, it’s not canon in the first place. At the same time, I understand the frustration with people who don’t want aroace characters to be shipped and feel like it’s erasing aroace spectrum rep. When it comes to the whole “erasing rep” part, it gets muddy and complicated when you’re referring to the whole spectrum.

Although, I do have one thing I’d like to discuss about the whole representation part. When it comes to fandom, people ignore all types of identities and ship what they want. Again, I’m only cool with it as long as the individual isn’t acting like it’s canon canon. That and it’s up to the creator and what they feel comfortable with. If they don’t want their character to be shipped, cool. If they don’t mind their character being shipped, cool.

Then things get a bit more nuanced and somewhat “confusing.” At the same time, shipping characters can help someone figure their own identity. I would’ve never understand that I experience queerplatonic attraction if it weren’t for shipping. I often (unintentionally) put myself in stereotypical black and white boxes. I mean, I thought I wasn’t aroace because of the one and only time I did feel attraction. Later on, I realized my aroace identity is very complicated but I know for a fact that I’m pretty “far down” the end of the spectrum.

Also, specifically, when it comes to OC x canon ships and self inserts of the sort…personally, do whatever you want. It’s for you right? And you just want to have fun. I repeat, as long as you aren’t acting like your ships are canon and recognize the character’s actual identity, I personally think it’s fine.

While these may be my personal beliefs, I also understand the lack of representation. But again, I feel like most aroace representation is lacking no matter what part of the spectrum you’re on. That and while people are going to do what they want anyways on the internet, at the same time, people also need to be respectful of other people’s characters that they don’t own.

Then you have people who can be aroace and fictsexual. Again, if the creator of a character is comfortable with their character being shipped and the person who’s shipping that character acknowledges the character’s canon identity, I think it’s fine for fictiosexuals to do what they want.

Again, this is my personal opinion and I obviously don’t speak for everyone on the aroace spectrum. I just wanted to talk about this and explore this topic.

Anyways, this isn’t as important but I’ll put my further two cents here.

Take me for example. I selfship with Alastor in 2 ways. When it comes to my OC, canonically my OC is aroace as well, and in a QPR. But I also put Alastor in the romantic category. Why? Because I also enjoy writing my oc in romantic situations and I’m lowkey poking fun at myself. It’s for me and it’s purely because I find it fun and well, funny at the same time. Also, I put a tag for it if anyone doesn’t want to deal with seeing that stuff.

Further more, despite my own confusion when it comes to identifying any emotion I feel (I’m sure neurodivergency has a role in that), I also like exploring a range of emotions in what I create because it’s all fictional. It’s not real.

Furthermore, after finding out about what a QPR is, I finally had the words to correctly convey and label my self ships into.

Overall, it also can be cathartic. What if someone is cupioromantic and one way they cope is with shipping/selfshipping? Besides the self shipping, fans like to project parts of themselves onto characters. (I repeat, the ones who are just having fun but also are respectful) I’ve also seen non-aroace people wanting to explore how to write aroace identities as well. As long as they do the research and are respectful, go ahead! If you’re writing an aroace character for the first time, you’re not going to be perfect and that’s okay. Now, obviously, I’m not saying it’s okay to write harmful stereotypes of aroace people.

Shipping can be useful in exposing new identities that some people may not know have/have enough knowledge on. It can also broaden one’s perspective as some people may not understand that being aroace is a spectrum, can fluctuate, and isn’t all black and white.

But yeah. I’d like to hear your thoughts on the matter.

Listen. I like dinluke. I think mainstream dinluke is so fun. The jokes are fun and the fics are fun and I love fandom!! I love this sandbox that we all get to play in together! And yet sometimes I look at what people are saying and I go ‘wat are you talking abt…’. This isn’t bashing anyone to be clear!! This is abt how seemingly my interpretation of the ship is shared by no one. That is okay of course :) I do hope that I can convince you…

Cause when I think about it. I can’t picture them in a relationship. Or the traditional one with grand romantic gestures and attractions. In SW love always makes the fate of the universe, and that’s always true and will always be true. But these are two men that have managed to find balance within themselves. Not to say that their characters are finished, but to say that a Romance often comes with a revolution— changes in a character, large and small, but often also changes in situations, changes in goals, changes in their futures. Din and Luke already have that. They know their chosen paths, and exactly where they belong. It’s one of my greatest frustrations that Romance(s) for this pairing often lead to both characters changing their lives and their creeds and their beliefs for The Romance. Two people who shoulder their respective dying cultures? The Din Djarin that’s been hunted his whole life for his culture, the Luke Skywalker that spent three movies becoming what he is and ending completely ready to die for it? I can’t imagine that!! The removal of the helmet, the abandonment of aspects of the Jedi creed? I can’t imagine that!! And I can’t imagine them being attracted to each other like that either!!

It’s taken me this long to get here, but I had to get through how I felt about the ship to be able to talk about what I’ve felt about them. Luke Skywalker has no romantic pairing or displayed attraction to anyone in the ot, and that’s never treated like an issue! It’s wonderful! Din is asexual the vibes are there. To put it into words, he treats everyone with the same amount of devotion that he’d treat anything— that’s just him. That’s how he acts. He has a small moment with Omera, but that’s less about attraction to Omera and what Omera represents — a village and a community that can raise their kids in the sunlight, the peace that Din truly wants. D&L both have something they want greater than a partnership or Romance— a duty, a peaceful existence for their people. Anything that’s resonant with their characters will exist in between that.

So I can’t imagine a romance! The phrase I’ve been using recently has been ‘ghiblimance’. Because they do reflect each other as people. They would change from their interactions with one another. But not because of an attraction, but because of who they are, what they can teach to each other, what they value, and how their lives intertwine one way or another.

LITERALLY. “Not romantic not platonic but a secret third thing” is EXACTLY how I feel about it!! Similarly one of my favorite phrases describing it is ‘not romantic but not not romantic’!!! They don’t need attraction or The Romance to reflect each other as people.

I believe their paths will (“should”) keep intertwining. That’s where you get the life partners part of it from. For the things they can teach other and for themselves.

I’m sorry, I’m just not interested in them kissing. I’m interested in how they complement each other as people, and how they, their creeds, and their lives come together for themselves and for Grogu.

When they first became friends, Eber cast a spell on Darius that allows him to know what they’re saying. If Darius isn’t around, no one has any idea what Eber is saying

This spell got destroyed during the Day of Unity, and Darius freaked out when he realised.

Eda tried to propose to Raine at some point: Raine obvi said no. They explained (once Eda had stopped crying) that while they loved each other and would literally die for each other, they had a lot to work on, and through, after everything

Darius took in Hunter. It took some convincing, and once he was told everything he had such a massive breakdown that everyone reconsidered it for a second, but Hunter chose to go with Darius and that was that, they couldn’t not let him.

It took a while for Raine and Hunter to talk about the Belos stuff. Obvi Hunters friend and Camila knew, and Darius was told before Hunter moved in, coz he needed to know incase anything happened. But Raine didn’t tell anyone for a while. They knew Eda wanted to know, so she could help, and she put some pieces together after hearing about Hunter, but still. She waited for them to go to her.

The only person to know about Raines deal before Eda was Hunter, who Raine found crying in the Owl House kitchen the first night back in the Isles. Hunter started talking about it all (coz it’s a lot of stuff to happen to a kid in 24hrs) and after a minute, in an attempt at comfort, Raine admits to having been captured by Belos too. They don’t go into it, but they know that Hunter knowing helped him.

When Hunter had time to process everything for real, he realised that he technically committed suicide. This freaks him out, especially since by that point ‘he was supposed to be doing better’. Darius, of course has no clue how to handle this, and calls Camilia as soon as he calms Hunter down a bit.

Darius is the kind of guy to shove all his shit aside to help others first, because it’s easier than dealing with it. All his anger and hurt and frustration over The Day of Unity, and the Emperor’s Coven gets shoved aside to help Hunter and the aisles rebuild. His grief over the past G.G is never brought up because he doesn’t want Hunter to blame himself. He pushes his grief about almost loosing his friends, almost dying himself, away, because there are more important things to worry about. It’s not healthy, and he is fully aware, but he doesn’t know how to stop, when it’s kept him going for so long.

Darius knew Hunter was a GrimWalker, because the past G.G told him all of it before he ‘disappeared. What he did *not* know was the extent of it all. When the grave is found in the skull, Darius goes mental, then blacks out, then spends the next week ignoring everyone, even Eber. He sent Hunter to Eda’s for that week. Then he went back to work like nothing has happened. He still refuses to talk about it.

The Draining Spell fucked people up big time, mainly the elderly and the Coven Heads. For a while after, if any of the Coven Heads tried magic, they would almost pass out. This frustrated Darius the most, since he used his for travel a lot.

Also his hair stopped being animated for a while, until he could do magic properly again. He hates it. He has a lot of issues with it not looking the way it normally does, and wears a head wrap for a while because of this.

Eber had the hardest time recovering from it all, and couldn’t do magic for a while. People were starting to get worried he wouldn’t be able to do magic again at all, but he’s fine now.

Darius’s hair goes all funny when he gets emotional. He isn’t aware of this til Eda points it out.

Alador is stronger than Darius. They are both aware of this. Neither acknowledge it

Vitrimir has a personality that’s a cross between Gyro Gearloose from the Ducktales Reboot, and Varian from TTS. He’s an eccentric, genius guy, but a bit of an ass (this is after it all, when he’s stopped being a Belos Ass Kisser :3 )

Hettie was the first to apologise, and offer her help. Terra is still currently the last (she fucked off to live out her retirement alone)

Eda changes her hand every week. It’s payment from Al in exchange for her making sure his kids didn’t die while he was busy being stuck in a toxic relationship.

Eber is older than Darius- technically. In ‘witch years’ he’s older, but because Direwolves age differently to witches, they’re technically only in their early 30’s

Darius, Odalia and Al were all in Liliths year, where Raine and Perry were in Eda’s :)

While I do think Andrew and Neil love each other, I think their relationship is more aromantic, and they share a sexual qpr (no this does not invalidate the significance and emotional depth of their relationship. QPRs are just as important and real as romantic relationships) (this is also why I agree they don't get married (except POTENTIALLY tax benefits but I doubt they'd need that)

I agree with Nora that they wouldnt say I love you - why would they need to? Neither of them were brought up in families of love that say the world I love you. Their love is shown through their actions - from gifts to services to loyalty and respect. They know the other loves them, why would they need to say it?

Honestly I think this is all valid!!! I’m ace myself so maybe I’m also biased but I can see how relationships feel more meaningful without the haze of sex over them sometimes.

I’m personally just along for the ride so I don’t actually have hard beliefs on who anyone should end up with. I think it’s Nora’s story and I trust her to do whatever it is she’s going to do.

And while I do understand your hesitation to admit this to the wider fandom, I still like to believe there are more good people than bad people, and that you could definitely find aroace pals who agree with you! (At the end of the day these are fictional characters and if any real person tries to “defend them” or harass you over it - just block them lol ) people need to stop taking fandom so seriously and start being silly goofy again

Making my own post so I don’t write a whole essay in the tags of mcytblr confessions. Re: this post about how shipping culture in the Hermitcraft fandom is so wildly different to how it is in the Dream SMP fandom. Under a read more for if you don’t care lmao

Honestly I do think it’s quite interesting, just how different the two fandoms are. For Hermitcraft, I think it’s just that like, they’ve already fought that war. I’ve seen the great hermitshipping discourse of 2019. They’ve had enough, gone over this. They’ve fought this war already. Nowadays for HC, it’s just “make sure you tag your posts correctly and you’re all good. If you don’t like it please just don’t interact.” Plus, the general consensus for the hermits is that like, they’re all adults, and they can just not look. And they’re all fine with that arrangement as well, as far as I can tell. The hermits leave us to it, and we be respectful and not post it where they’re gonna see it. Mutual respect and a good tagging system, and we’re all good. No more discourse.

For DSMP, it’s wildly different. The culture that the DSMP fandom established very quickly was that boundaries were the highest level of importance, and they wanted to make sure they weren’t disrespecting their CC’s. With that, it became commonplace to actively seek out a CC’s boundaries regarding all sorts of things. Because of that, there’s a lot of CC’s who have actively said no to stuff like shipping, and the fandom does their best to respect that, but sometimes it gets real messy.

As someone who’s been in the DSMP fandom for like, a year and a half at this point, I’ve seen plenty of shipping discourse about it. Of course there’s the beeduo discourse, with their characters being canonically married but the CC’s playing them saying no to shipping, and then there’s stuff like the whole hellfire that was the emerald duo QPR discourse. And honestly, there’s been no conclusion, really. Eventually it just kinda passes and we don’t talk about it anymore. I think that, if the DSMP fandom sticks around long enough, we’ll probably eventually have our shipping wars and eventually settle on something? But this fandoms ability to come to any consensus doesn’t leave me hopeful for that. (We’ve got what, like, three different names for the Wilbur and Ranboo duo at this point? That still pisses me off to this day.)

Honestly, I wonder if a lot of it doesn’t come down to the simple fact that the HC fandom has been around for a long time at this point. They’ve just had their ten year anniversary, and I’m sure they’ve seen it all at this point. Like I only recently joined the HC fandom, but it is SO refreshing being here. There’s like, no discourse about anything really, everyone is chill. They’ve probably already had every discourse you could possibly have, and they’ve settled it. Like I think the most I’ve seen in my time here was the Cleo swearing thing? And honestly, as a DSMP fan, I was just laughing about the concept of THAT being what’s considered a big deal.

Over in the DSMP fandom, I swear we can’t go one week without some new thing going wrong. You can be offline for a few hours and come back and it seems like your whole fandom is on fire. I’ve been told that the DSMP fandom has the kind of energy where it seems like it’s a lot of peoples first “big” fandom? And that makes sense honestly, with all the stuff I’ve seen. I still remember when people on Twitter were being canceled by other fans for the crime of uh… livetweeting? And everyone was like “you have to censor the names so they don’t trend!!” And then we fucking trended a censored version of “Karl” and it’s just. Guys. What are you trying to prove? Like you realize that your trending page is catered to what you personally interact with right? You realize it’s Twitter..? It’s not that deep?

I dunno. I could go on and on and on, and this post is already way longer than I thought it would be tbh. I’m just rambling at this point. There’s plenty of other random stuff I could say about the differences in these fandoms, I’m sure. I guess if any of you actually read this and want me to keep rambling abt it, let me know?

for something to be “heavily implied” it necessitates intent. there was no author intent to make him aroace (you can read into certain lines however you want, that doesn’t make it proper evidence. there is much more to be said in the way of terusai being implied than aroace saiki if the claim I’ve seen floating around of her being based off of the author’s wife is true, but i digress), so therefore aroace saiki is not implied (neither is trans saiki or whatever the hell else but aroace saiki is the big one). it honestly feels so arrogant and offputting whenever someone says that because it is just not true.

and another thing “aromantism isn’t celebrated enough by fandom” what? do you want us all to throw a party and weep for joy because now an entire avenue of fandom experience with a beloved character is apparently closed forever? i understand where you’re coming from, i really do, but 1) saiki is not canon representation, he is a character that aroace people identify with in terms of traits and moments, and while that is jolly and good and a thing everyone does when there’s no representation, it’s not remotely the same thing, and 2) that makes you sound so incredibly whiny (ooh here comes the namecalling, sorry op i come off as super agressive in this part, that’s just how i sound, nothing against you you’re probably fine) I’ve literally never fucking seen anyone complain about aroace saiki except for myself, and im complaining about anyoying ass people who purposefully reply to ship posts to be dicks about how shipping the character who is not canonically shit is taking away their fucking representation. in fact ive literally only see people making posts like this complaining about how not everyone is them.

Wednesday in a QPR for season 2

Okay, this started as an idle thought because someone said that aroace Wednesday would destroy her emotional/social character arc which is just ???

Like first off, you can definitely develop your social skills and how to check in with your emotions by just... making friends. Wednesday staying a single aroace but learning how to make and maintain friendship would still be character development.

But for the sake of the argument let’s pretend that you subscribe to the allo monogamous notion that for everyone there is this one (1) *special* person out there. So let her be in a QPR!!! Is my main argument for this that I finally want QPR representation, especially in mainstream media? Yes, but that doesn’t make it any less important. I  mean is that really too much to ask?

Now, I know Enid is the most prominent choice for Wednesday’s QPR and I hear and support you but may I propose Tyler...? Hear me out:

I know him saying she was sending him signals got some mixed reactions to say the least. But most people at some point deluded themselves into thinking their crush was sending them signals when their crush very much did not. And also, it’s not as if Wednesday sent anyone else non-platonic signals because she’s probably aroace. Add to that Tyler might be aroace himself but in denial so all he knows about romantic/sexual relations is what society and media taught him and the whole situation gets even more confusing

So why Tyler? (let me preface this by saying this is gonna include some self-projection but isn’t that the point?)

It’s very clear that he cares about her and is very intent on clear communication. Wednesday would always know where she stands with him and we know he has the nerve to ask her where he stands with her and is respectful of her boundaries. Which is important in any relationship but especially in a QPR. Also the fact that she kissed him shows that she felt comfortable enough to explore her own limits with him and trusts him to stop when she shows signs of discomfort because his previous actions were proof that he does.

Of course there is the issue of the Hyde but the more I think about it the more adamant I become that this is not his fault. Like he was groomed/manipulated/traumatized so much. We know he did not intentionally start everything and I would not be surprised if he  actually did not enjoy any part of it. But he was told that he did over and over again so he finally deluded himself into believing that because it gave him some sense of control. (honestly, how many groomed ppl during the relationship think that they actually want this only to later realize that they very much did not). Especially given how emotionally vulnerable he was in that entire situation.

But why should Tyler be in a QPR? I’ve stated before (on Twitter) that I believe both Tyler and Wednesday are queer. I don’t care if you call it mlm/wlw solidarity, bi4bi, QPR, ... there’s something fruity going on between these two. Now this is where the self-projection is getting heavy. The whole Hyde thing will probably cause an alienation between Tyler and his body because so much happened to his body that he had absolutely no control. And as someone whose body does a lot of stuff I have no control over because of my physical disability, let me tell you that it makes intimacy with other people complicated to unappealing (now, I have no way of knowing if I’m simply on the ace-spectrum or if sth caused by my anxiety about my temperamental body. But since I’m generally interested in it but then end up worrying myself in a frenzy about my body’s movements during something as simple as a cuddle session even though physical touch is my primary love language I’m leaning towards the latter). So Tyler would also need to be in a relationship with someone who is aware and respectful of his physical boundaries.

And that’s why I think they should be in a QPR together and will now delude myself into thinking that the show is giving us signals that it will happen even though it’s absolutely unrealistic.

I’m 24 next month; never dated, never kissed anyone. Realized when I was 17 or 18 that I’m sex-repulsed asexual. Took a few more years to also realize that I’m aro-spec (grey or demi most likely, genuinely not sure, but definitely not allo). I’m lucky that my parents (who I still live with as I go to uni) don’t ever ask me about dating or marriage but I’m really scared that one day they’ll tell me how much they want grandkids. I want a QPR or platonic partnership with a woman far more than a romantic relationship with any gender, so if I ever have children, they won’t be biologically mine and they’ll either be adopted or they’ll be my partner’s bio kids, and I don’t know how my parents (who are religious; I am as well but with different values) will react to that.

Saying all this just to say…..you’re not alone💛 the idea that everyone has to live the same cookie cutter life is toxic and overrated and I hope you’re able to safely and comfortably live the life you want to live and not what’s expected of you by people who don’t respect or understand you
