Following the announcement of “Digimon Adventure Beyond” premiering in Digimon Con 2025, new details about the project have been revealed.

A crowdfunding campaign will begin from January 20th for putting large advertisements within Tokyo for one week in March.

In relation to this, a rough draft of the advertisement illustration featuring Taichi and Yamato in their previously teased designs, along with Agumon and Gabumon, has been released. The illustration was drawn by Rie Nishimura, character designer for this project.

More details about the crowdfunding, what it entails and the reward system has been summarised by With The Will.

An easter egg here is that since the rewards include a signed script copy by cast members Natsuki Hanae, Yoshimasa Hosoya, Chika Sakamoto and Mayumi Yamaguchi, we now have confirmation that along with the video being set to the song Brave Heart, it will feature scenes with dialogues as well.

Irregular Monday Update, Edition 17

Hello, friends! ❤️ With the update to Burdock now finished, I'm back to Bright Oak with a vengeance! I'm grateful for all of you; the last year and change have been A Lot, but the break has been a worthwhile one, I feel. I've learned quite a bit, been exposed to new ideas and approaches, met some stellar talents, and now, I'm ready to put it all to work on my main squeeze again. ✨

Progress Report:

Made headway on detail-coding Act II; just about wrapped on the current chapter

Voice Actors are cast for both Sheriff John Forster and for sweet Sparrow! Not naming any names yet, but both actors can be heard in this Burdock stream and following Q+A!

Prepped the casting call and began on the script for the voice actors

Freshened up the game pages and trailer (RIP my "Early 2024" anticipated release 🥲)

True Tales is our full-cast audio comedy about conspiracies gone wrong, where a group of illuminati goons bounce haplessly throughout history snatching defeat from the jaws of other, weirder defeats.

In our first season (which you can listen to here or on your podcatcher of choice) , our gang of Illuminauts failed to keep the pyramids a secret. In the second, they failed to fake the moon landing so hard that they had to actually land on the moon. In the third, Beck and the gang will be going up against their toughest foe yet - the Enlightenment.

That’s right, reason IS the font of goodness, and it’s back to the 18th century to deal with the likes of Denis Diderot, Johanne Weishaupt, and Wolfgang Goethe. Can they match their scintillating wit? Create an objective test of intellectual acumen? Kiss?

We've been acclaimed by the AV Club on their Podmass roundup and made it to the finalists in the 2020 and 2022 Audioverse awards.

Fawx & Stallion: Season 2 Crowdfund

We are delighted to share that scripts are done, pre-production has (ever so gently) begun, and we are extremely excited to get to work on season 2 of Fawx & Stallion, with a brand new mystery (or two) and plenty of hijinks. However, we'll need some help to get across the finish line.

Season one of F&S was almost entirely self-produced, which we were happy to do because we believe in and love this project--but that's not a sustainable model for us as independent artists to continue indefinitely, especially at the pace of production we'd like to move at.

So. Next week, on April 1st (ha), we launch our S2 crowdfund. We've got some activities planned to keep things fun, some extra incentives to unlock at milestones, and a set of backer rewards that we think you'll love (including personalized in-character thank-you notes, stickers, mystery-solving services, and annotated copies of ACD stories).

Twelvelms is a new, original fantasy mystery story set at a magical univeristy in the north of England following three new scholars as they discover the dark conspiracy at the roots of their society

I've been working on the world in which Twelvelms is set for almost a decade, and the story of the show is something I've been working on for several years. Season One will be twelve episodes long and will start airing from 18th June 2024. We're currently crowdfunding to make this happen!

Nestled in the hills and trees of the north of England is a tiny town, invisible to passing hikers and planes flying overhead. Twelvelms is part of a secret world just out of sight of the one we all live in; a dangerous magical world full of curses and spells beyond our imagination, and hidden histories which loop and twist like the knotted roots of ancient trees. This is the world of the mages, people who can use magic to perform wondrous acts of power and majesty, and for hundreds of years, they’ve lived in secret on the fringes of our society.

Twelvelms is a university town, sprung up around an ancient institution which for over a millennium has moulded the minds of the future of magedom. In this brand new immersive audio drama podcast, three new scholars of Twelvelms University will face the trials and tribulations of young adulthood and navigate the murky waters of campus life. But there is more to Twelvelms’ hallowed halls than prestige and learning. It’s the centre of a rotten conspiracy which runs deep into the roots of magical society, and there’s only a matter time before the decay will spread into everything they know.

To start off with (and because I'm just too excited to not talk about this) we have a piece of score composed by the unbelievably talented Grimrite Showrunner Cai Gwilym Prtichard (who also produces sound art under the name Dinas) and Grimrite have been slowly planning and working on a score during the script writing stage.

Inspired by the process that went into the Akira score we have created a few pieces of score before any other work has been done on the episodes, I feel that generating the mood first can really change the course of the way certain scenes are put together.

To settle on a consistent mood (besides just going from the scripts of course) I created a playlist of the kind of vibe we wanted, as well as just talking about it in discord calls (usually late at night)

We tried a variety of methods, from just talking vibes to graphical notation created by me and then interpreted by Grimrite

Grimrite definitely has a specific style and a really interesting part of the (ongoing) process is developing a common understanding when we talk about music, coming at sound/music from different angles and meeting in the middle has been a really interesting process. Grimrite finds balance to be very important sonically and has a certain set of sonic textures they work super well in. And so channelling that into the way both I and Chain of Being works has also been another part of the creative process.

I think that there is a shared passion for sound between the two of us that makes this collaboration super rewarding, like we genuinley both love sound and music so much and we really hope it comes through in the score.

An update and a thank you from 224B Baker Street!

Hello again, detectives!

While the crowdfund for season 2 of Fawx & Stallion technically wrapped up a few days ago, we thought it would be good to take a day or two to regroup, take a nap, and think of a few words to express our thanks. This being May 4th, the day in 1891 that Sherlock Holmes fell to his (alleged) death at Reichenbach Falls, it seemed strangely fitting to say a few words about the story of the detectives across the street and slightly to the left on the day Holmes ever so temporarily bowed out of his own story.

Last Monday, we crossed 100% of our goal. And on Thursday, we ended our campaign with 104% of our goal. We are beyond honored and completely grateful to everyone who donated, shared, sent along encouraging words, recommended, baked, drew, wrote, all of it, in support of us bringing more of this show into the world.

Everyone working to create this show has made art at some point that feels like it went out into the void--something they felt deeply, sacrificed for, put small, weird, jagged, still-beating parts of themselves into day after day, and then never knew if the thing those parts of themselves funneled into actually reached another human. Much less another human who saw themselves in it. We've been quite honest about the fact that our characters are very much an exploration of that feeling, of wanting to be seen, wanting the things we've done to be seen, to matter to someone.

We could write a million words, fifty seasons of audio drama, and never truly be able to put into words how grateful we are to you for reaching back to the art we create and telling it "I see this. I felt it. I love it. I want more."

Creating art is so hard. Most things are hard, but art is Hard, especially as the world and the algorithm and the AI and the Content creeps in and shuts off means of doing the personal, weird, silly, risky little things with any sort of official funding. It's why we funded season one ourselves, because we thought it was worth it. It means more than the world to know you thought so too.

And now, with all of that self-indulgence done: a practical update on NEXT STEPS!

MAY 2024:

We'll spend this next month prepping crowdfund rewards--writing thank you notes, getting extra supplies of stickers (they were VERY popular), etc! We expect those rewards to go out mid-Summer. The annotated Scandal in Bohemia will go out to our $30+ donors later this month via email. Also, if you pledged at $250 or up (THANK YOU again), we will be reaching out to secure details of your perks (start thinking of what mystery you'd like us to solve!). If you are expecting an email and do not receive one by the end of the month, please check your spam folder and if nothing is there, reach out to us via IGG!

We are also in the process or pre-production currently! This season will have a cast of roughly 22 voice actors, so we're taking the full month to get our recording plan. We'll also spend the month refining scripts, doing rehearsals, working with our composer on some original pieces (perhaps some violin) and giving our fantastic sound designer, Sarah, time to do the prep work she needs, and laying the groundwork for what is looking to be a very full summer of production! We look forward to updating you as the season progresses!

Again, thank you. Thank you. This second season is, aptly, a bit of an inverse of our first season. It's about the weight of expectation. How to operate in the world when you go from unknown to known. Invisible to spectacular. Alone to loved. It's also about a murder at a theme park but that's a bit less relevant to the emotional core of what I'm driving at here. But actually, fuck it, I guess it's still relevant, because we've always been excited about the weighty and the silly all the same.
