"I could feel a presence in the theater. A familiar scent. The audience was leering and feral. We were on trial for murder. And all I could think was... he's coming."

I’m rewatching Merlin and my friend has never seen it before so I’m making him watch too so he’ll actually know what I’m talking about next time I’m ranting about it.
His reaction to Merlin and Arthur meeting has me wheezing:
“There you have it, the true evil of magic himself: Verbally edging the repressed Prince into a gay panic.”

Eddie does that Tiktok trend that’s like what’s the most ridiculous thing you’ve had to explain to someone in a customer service setting, but since he’s never had a customer service job, he asks Robin and she says that she once had to explain the plot to Back To The Future to someone.
And you can hear Steve off to the side sputtering like this is a conversation they’ve had multiple times, “First of all, we were not even on the clock! And I wasn’t- They never - they don’t even go to the future! That’s a terrible name!”

I’m making my friend watch Merlin so he can understand what I’m talking about when I’m rambling about it.
He got to “how long have you been training to be a pratt, my lord?” And was already complaining that Merlin and Arthur need to hurry up and get together.
We’re on the second episode and I’m realising i may have made a small error in judgement.
He doesn’t know Arthur dies at the end and I’m delusional enough about this show that he might possibly think merthur and mercelot are canon at different times.
He also thinks Morgwen is canon and I just headcanon it as a qpr, not that I headcanon the ship itself.
He’s gonna be so pissed.
Half of me wants to tell him so he doesn’t get the same shock I did when Arthur and Gwen get together, the other half doesn’t want him to have any spoilers and also thinks it’ll be funny to see how long it takes him to realise.
In my defence, the show was made in 2008 in the Uk, that should say enough about them having anything remotely gay in the show.
He’s still gonna be heartbroken when he gets to the finale.
