Catalizzatori atomici all'ossido cerio per l'energia verde

In Cina scoperto nuovo catalizzatore di dimensioni atomiche per la sintesi dell’idrogeno. Tutti i catalizzatori moderni sono di dimensioni molecolari, ma  l’efficienza della produzione chimica aumenta man mano che l’agente si riduce. Quindi riducendone le dimensioni si ottengono processi catalitici più efficienti. Un team internazionale guidato da scienziati cinesi ha fatto un passo avanti nella chimica con un nuovo modo di rendere i catalizzatori di dimensioni atomiche più veloci e affidabili in applicazioni che vanno dalla riduzione dell’inquinamento delle automobili all’aumento della produzione di idrogeno, come riportato da SCMP.

Tutti i catalizzatori moderni sono di dimensioni molecolari, ma  l’efficienza della produzione chimica aumenta man mano che l’agente si riduce. Quindi riducendone le dimensioni si ottengono processi catalitici più efficienti. I catalizzatori di dimensioni atomiche, con le loro strutture di elettroni uniche, sono 1-2 ordini di grandezza più efficienti, ma la loro instabilità ha rappresentato un problema. I catalizzatori atomici utilizzano spesso metalli preziosi come il platino, il rodio e il palladio, che tendono ad aggregarsi durante le reazioni e a perdere slancio. La loro vita utile più breve significa anche che sono più costosi, rendendoli inadatti per le applicazioni commerciali. I ricercatori cinesi affermano di aver costruito una struttura unica che risolve questi problemi confinando gli atomi di metallo sulla superficie dei materiali di supporto e impedendo loro di formare ammassi che ne limitano l’efficienza. I risultati sono stati pubblicati nell’edizione del 26 ottobre della rivista peer-reviewed Nature. Il team, guidato da Zeng Jie, professore dell’Università di Scienza e Tecnologia della Cina (USTC), ha incluso collaboratori della Washington State University, dell’Arizona State University e dell’Università della California, Davis. Utilizzando l’ossido di cerio, i ricercatori hanno costruito delle “nanoisole” sulla superficie delle particelle di silice, intrappolando gli atomi di metallo reattivi – in questo caso il platino – e trattenendoli uniformemente durante la sintesi chimica. In effetti, gli atomi di metallo sono tenuti in una serie di isole-prigione, dove sono liberi di muoversi ma non possono fuggire, poiché la silice – che non può competere con il legame tra il metallo e l’ossido di cerio – agisce come un oceano impenetrabile. I ricercatori hanno dichiarato che il loro approccio ha permesso di posizionare con precisione gli atomi di metallo e di controllarne la concentrazione su ogni “isola”, impedendo loro di formare ammassi più grandi e di causare aggregazioni dannose durante le reazioni. Secondo loro questa struttura permette un’elevata efficienza nelle reazioni che permettono l’estrazione dell’idrogeno dall’acqua, rendendolo molto più disponibile e facile da produrre con l’energia verde.  In un’intervista rilasciata venerdì al SCMP, Zeng ha dichiarato che il design unico della struttura massimizza l’efficienza di utilizzo del metallo e prolunga la durata di vita del catalizzatore. “Ma questo richiede idee creative, accumulo di tecnologia di sintesi e l’assistenza di alcuni dei migliori strumenti al mondo”, ha detto. “Abbiamo affrontato una lunga storia di ricerca e utilizzato esperimenti complessi per supportare la progettazione, e abbiamo collaborato con altri illustri ricercatori per rilevare la struttura atomica del catalizzatore“. Zeng ha dichiarato che il progetto ha fornito uno strumento di progettazione per catalizzatori atomici stabili. “Puntiamo a introdurre questo concetto in altre reazioni chimiche importanti, come il trasferimento acqua-gas o l’ossidazione selettiva del metano“, ha detto. “Potremmo costruire altri catalizzatori scegliendo supporti, nanoisole e atomi metallici attivi appropriati. Da su me kao malo mlađu pitali gdje je moj dom, bez razmišljanja, rekla bih da je tamo gdje sam rođena, napravila prve korake, naučila prve riječi i pala kad sam učila voziti bicikl. Da su me pitali šta je mir, ne bih trepnula, rekla bih da je mir kad dođem u svoju kuću, sve probleme ostavim na pragu i pažljivo zaključam vrata da se slučajno neki ne bi uvukao kroz mravlje puteljke. Danas, ako me pitaš, moj mir i dom su daleko. Daleko od mjesta gdje sam rođena, daleko od grada u kojem osim ulica napamet znam i brojeve kuća i zgrada. Daleko od grada u kojem sam ostavila svoje sve. Sve što je bilo i iz njega pošla praznih kofera. Ponijela sam sve što je moglo stati u džepove. Ljubav, zahvalnost, snalazljivost, drčnost i malo samoživosti. Više od toga mi nije stalo, a da ti kažem iskreno, nije mi ni trebalo. U prvim danima kad nisam znala ko mi glavu čuva snalažljivost i drčnost, koju sam valjda morala imati jer sam uvijek bila "tatin sin", su mi bili dobri suputnici. Ubrzo, su se stvari počele slagati kao Lego kockice. Prva veš mašina, TV, zavjese, set šolja, posao, prva plata, astronomska ako pitaš mene, dijete sa Balkana. Cijeli život sam zamišljala da su četverocifreni brojevi na računu rezervisani samo za božje miljenike. Dani su letjeli, brže nego ikad. Kažu da u ljudskom životu najviše napredujemo dok smo bebe, a da je sve poslije toga zanemarljivo. Tačno, ali sve sposobnosti čovjeka isplivaju onda kada ostanes sam u mjestu koje ne poznaješ bez ikoga svog. Svakim danom, život je postajao lakši a ja sam počela uviđati da me sve vrijeme prati slijepi putnik. Mir. Danas je moj dom u gradu u kojem još uvijek ne znam imena ulica napamet, u gradu koji me i nakon nekoliko godina iznenadi kvartom koji ne znam, među ljudima s kojima razgovaram na nekoliko jezika tokom jednog dana. the sound of a door slamming silenced the crew "what is it smee" a shrill voice screamed "we got her captain we got her" the one who I'm assuming is smee yelled happily as he pulled the bag off of me, it to a second to focus my vision I saw the goons loom over me while still Leaving a gap for the captain to see, I squinted to see the captain who I know is the famous captain hook he wore his signature red coat and hat his eyes slowly took my body in his eyes looking me over before he finally spoke "well well well aren't you a pretty little thing" he quickly gestured for the crew to bring me closer they quickly did so carefully but quickly he grabbed my face turning it direction as he examined it before smirking deeply "take her to my cabin" he said stepping aside my eyes flattened scared of what he's going to do with me the men quickly threw me inside and brought me over to a chair infront of his desk quickly binding me to it before scarring out captain hook stepped inside and shut the door before making his way over to me and placing himself infront of me on the desk "what is it you want hook" I muttered trying to keep my eyes from wondering over his body "well isn't it obvious" he smiled "where is peter pan hiding" he asked sternly learning towards me "you kidnapped the wrong daughter if you want to know that" I murmured also leaning closer, our faces were only inches apart "well I think you do know" he whispered putting his hand on my thigh while staring deeply into my eyes I gulped as he slowly traced circles up and down my thigh "come on just tell me" he murmured dragging his fingers higher and higher slipping under my skirt making its way up to my core my eyes flattered as he ran his finger up and down my slit before plunging in I bit my lip hard not wanting to let out a moan he slowly thrusted in and out in and out before adding another one I shut my eyes tightly and slowly started panting and moaning "that's it yn that's it" I looked at him confused "how did yo-" "what you really think I haven't been watching you" he smirked and used his thumb to rub my clit I lifted my head up as I let out more intense moans as I neared my climax "please please" I pleaded my body began to shake and tremble as I got closer and closer, my eyes closed tightly and a loud moan escaped my mouth as I came "that's a good girl" he murmured taking his hand away i leaned my head back against the chair trying to catch my breath but gasped as I felt a rough hand grab my neck tightly
