The "Tail or No Tail"? kerfuffle from The Frigid Doom because oh my fucking god what a bunch of dumbasses lmfao.

This is still one of the funniest things they have ever done.

It's also a very cool worldbuilding scene with Draconia and the Ravenites. Having our heroes bumble their way into a serious situation they know NOTHING about and choose wrong is SO good they NEED to do it. Hollywood wishes they could write poignant yet hilarious material like this. The contrast between the grim seriousness of an enslaved people breaking free from their oppressors due to the very dragon our heroes are here to slay combined with the sheer chucklefuckery of them shrugging and picking tails for their disguise because tails are cool and maybe a class thing, eh whatever, it'll be fine, then pelting headfirst into a brick wall is so fucking funny I couldn't breathe the first time I watched it.

(Not to mention the worldbuilding aspect behind Draconia being a FLYING CITY BECAUSE THAT'S NOT RELEVANT AT ALL LATER ON!!!!!).

It also feels very real. I'll be honest, I try to be an informed citizen of the world, but sometimes you just don't know shit about a situation, and it feels like walking face first into a spiderweb when you try to engage in any meaningful way lmfao. There are only so many hours in the day, you can't know everything (despite what internet discourse would have you believe). I think the raw realness of this scene, where Vex is like... "Look, we're just dumb, we don't know anything about you and we're just here because of the dragon, so sorry" Is SUPER relatable.

C1 episode 64 (2:42:14) Is where they find out they choose poorly for those interested. There's a lot of funny stuff before that of them deciding what to do, but you know, I had to pick a time stamp! (2:29:26) If you want to watch them not know what tf is going on and guess based on half remembered conversations with their one singular Draconic friend the politics and customs of an entire civilization (or 2 civilizations rather) and fail miserably lol.

They'll obviously have to skip the "Friends of Stormwind" bit which is too bad because it adds an extra element of stupidity claiming friendship with one of the Ravenite's oppressors, but the scene is perfectly doable while removing all traces of you know who. They'll also probably have to skip finding the body, which is really too bad because it was very touching.

Maybe they could replace him with Taliesin's dragonborn paladin character from waaaaaaaaaaay back in their first few home games in Stillben that was basically the ringer character because Matt and Tal had played together for years and he needed someone who knew what they were doing to help the noobs basically from what I remember lol. (I think it was just him, Marisha and Liam who had played before if I remember correctly) I forget his name. He was pre-stream. That would be cool. (They don't have to do it, this bit's just a fun idea lol).

The dichotomy of Brennan helping with ability score rolls for newer players:

Titan Takedown: Preps high-level base stats for the cast, with everyone having a 20 in their two most relevant ability scores and no one really having a genuine dump stat (no one's character has below a 14/+2 modifier in any ability), which allows the players to play to their class strengths and not have to worry about fucking up as much in a shorter, tighter campaign.

Fantasy High: Ally Beardsley rolls a 4 for Kristen's Dex and has to live with with the consequences of that for 6+ years

I still find it funny that one of the questions of The Last Stand exam was translating "Pedo Mellon a Minno" to "Speak friend and enter", something virtually impossible to do without outside knowledge of Lord of the Rings. It's been over a year since Junior Year dropped, and I'm still impressed that Beardsley never once bumped up Kristen's dex. You get ability score increases at levels 4, 8, and 12, and none of those increases went into making that negative three dexterity modifier into a more reasonable negative two or one. And yet, despite being only slightly more dexterous than a gelatinous cube, Kristen is still one of the most insanely powerful and efficient PCs in the world of Spyre.

You know, Brennan Lee Mulligan talks a lot of shit about the cruelty of Game Changer, but I’m not sure Sam Reich has ever done as much violence to his players as Brennan did when he handed out those irl exam question packets with sand timers, like that was real ptsd in their eyes

Hc that by Illyrian standards Azriel is considered unattractive.

Illyrians are a more practical group, they’re strong and have traditions they want to follow. They live in cold mountains in camps. Strength and endurance is a top quality, and while Azriel embodies this— He doesn’t look it.

Illyrians want someone whose body reflects their strength. Huge arms, wide wings, tall and bearing tokens of war (scars but not too many scars because that then signifies defeat). Azriel is trained for reconnaissance. His job is to be unnoticeable, being a huge hulking figure doesn’t make that easy. He’s tall and large yes, but he’s not that ideal Illyrian man. Hes just slimmer that average and plays sneaky. Not the big bold way that they believe is honorable. So by the cultures standards, he’s not attractive.

Cassian and Rhys both know this, that their sworn brother is considered “unattractive” by their peers. They never really think about it because that’s their brother, you don’t go around agreeing that your partner in crime is ugly. (Also because he could totally kick their asses and hey you don’t call the guy who is covered in conscious shadows ugly)

It becomes irrelevant as azriel ends up sticking to his job and doesn’t have to often interact with large groups of Illyrians (that gets to be Cassians job).

On the flip side, other groups of fae need that man CARNALLY. What makes him unideal in Illyrian standards makes him the perfect man in theirs. Strong beyond what they could achieve, skilled, quick witted and mysterious—he’s a 10/10.

Rhys learns about this after Azriel makes a rare appearance at a large event to let Rhys know about a new development in one of his missions, the crowd immediately hones in on this hunk of a man. Later, Rhys has to deflect multiple offers of marriage from court nobles.
