Though we are Dine’, my great-grandmother always taught me to honor and respect all indigenous tribes and chiefs for many went through trails and tribulations in their lands just as the Navajo and other native tribes across this country has.

The chants of the people still rise and awaken sleeping ears, I heard a sacred chant this morning, though unfamiliar, the sound was indeed familiar.

I spent my week listening, listening to nature, to tribal elders and to the spirit of the ancestors. I put my feet upon the bare earth, and my body into warm ocean waters, and felt my spirit rise upon the breath of Mother Nature, there is powerful medicine in the air as my great-grandmother would say.

The Great Chiefs: There have been many who have walked upon this land, their legacies are lasting and alive through tribal remembering & the telling of our stories, not those written by others.

The song is in my heart, this intermingled chanting, and beating, beating and chanting, words that are powerful & empowering.

Chanting, I too am chief, beating within my chest: I too and chief, beating: I too carry forth the legacy, chanting I too am chief.

Sacred Medicine: it has arrived at the bequest of my ancestors many prayers long before I was born, it has been coming, I waited for it and it came. Medicine for the spirit that dwells and goes from spirit to spirit via the spirit, from heart to heart, this sacred medicine, this peace, this love, this harmony, this joy of spirit.

New Year’s Eve Spiritual Bath 🛀🏾 This bath, I spoke intentions of removing any fear, physical, emotional blocks to open the way so that I could be open to giving myself more self-love, self-acceptance, self-expression and self-confidence. Last night was the first Ceremony of our retreat. There was hard work done, but also many rewards and indescribable beauty! A painting or even the most ambitious psychedelic animation could never come close to all of the ever-expanding fractal alien multiverses that Ayahuasca reveals inside myself. She schools me with reflections of my resistances/blockages and washes me a bit closer to my liberated potential. I was sitting in between my parents who drank the mystic brew for the first time. My doctor @herbert_quinteros started them with a tiny dose, but still they began their descontruction work, so I was holding space for them and helping a bit with their purge, through me. In the end, they are part of me, so their liberation will be part of mine too. The music that Herbert and his wife @acaciajadeyoga played was potent as always and we also had a couple of super good musicians/shamans from the Brazilian “Yawanawa” tribe take us on a deep vibrational ride/scrub! Once it was over, I just sat with my new student friends talking about all the reasons to be grateful/happy and how to spread that vibe in our world, so that the sickness in humanity can be healed from inside of each of our hearts. Huni Kuin – Murici Rapé

Murici is a classic of the Huni Kuin or Kaxinawa tradition. A nice and simple rapé great for general use. Although the Huni Kuin have a vast variety of recipes and ingredients they use in their sacred snuffs, the Murici blend is a standard similar to what the Tsunu blend is to the Yawanawa: rice and beans, the daily staple.

The Murici tree is a common tree in the forest and produces a fruit much appreciated by forest animals. According to the Huni Kuin, Murici rapé helps to fight fatigue and keeps ones spirituality active, its action is associated with the joy of celebrating with friends.

Rapé – is a very sacred shamanic medicine, made by indigenous tribes of South America, primarily found in in Brazil and Peru. Rapé is pronounced ‘haa-pay’ in English. Indigenous Rapé is a rare medicine to come by and very sacred to the tribes of South America. It is used for deep connection to the spirits, animals and Mother Nature, it is very cleansing and powerfully healing.

This sacred medicine takes days to make and is a very labor intensive process made in a ceremonial way, out of various Amazonian healing medicinal plants, leaves, trees and seeds from Amazonian rainforest. Calling in the spirits to help assist those who come to this medicine for deep healing and connection to the source of the creator.

Application

Traditionally, this medicine is applied by using a pipe made from bamboo or bone, which is blown through each nostril on both sides. This can be self-administered using a V-shaped self-applicator pipe, known as a ‘Kuripe’ pipe which connects the mouth to the nostrils. It can also be administered by another person using a large blow pipe, which connects the blower’s mouth to the other person’s nostrils. This blow pipe is known as a ‘Tepi’ pipe.

Suggestion

Use a pea sized amount in each nostril of this medicine for beginners. Dosages can be increased after prolonged use once one becomes more accustom to working with this medicine and has built a relationship to the spirit of the plant and specific rapé.

Please use this medicine in a sacred manner within a quiet space without any interruptions, play relaxing healing music or sit in silence with legs crossed. Call upon your spirit and animal helpers, thank the the tribes , the plants and the spirit of this sacred medicine. Place the pipe over your heart and set an intention and prayer. Apply the medicine in each nostril. Close your eyes after application, breath slowly and calmly then sit and receive the healing benefits of this beautiful medicine throughout your whole being.

Effects

In general, Rapé has the following effects: it deeply helps to reconcile and open all your chakras, improves your grounding, releases any illness on the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual levels, opens the third eye, decalcifies the pineal gland, removes any mental confusion, it releases any negative thoughts, removes all negative entities, connects you with your divine breath and enhances your connection with the Spirit.

Please note that after application of Rapé, you may experience cleansing, vomiting, bowel movements and increased saliva, which is a normal reaction when your energy and physical body releases blocked energy, toxins and diseases. It is good to have a bucket, toilet paper and drinking water at hand.

Each Rapé has different vibrations, different properties, carries different information, differs in subtlety and has very different effects on the energy field. In addition, after you build a deeper relationship with each Rapé – She becomes a powerful plant teacher for you to ask any questions or go to any sacred ceremony with a specific purpose.
