Hey everyone it seems there a malicious individual trying to hack the sims cc community again and fill it with malware you need to stay vigilant as a creator and a downloader so
i have some tips for both to stay safe while downloading:
1- sims cc file extension is always .Package never download anything that is .exe
2- do not auto unpack zip files and rar files into your mods folder directly, open each zip or rar individually check the file extensions and drag them to your mods folder one by one
3- the only mods that have a .ts4script extension are ones that affect gameplay or how the game works, understand that if you are downloading cas or bb items you shouldn't have a .ts4script file
4- if you are downloading gameplay mods that do have .ts4script make sure that A) the creator hasn't announced on their pages that its infected B) you are downloading from a link provided by the creator of the mods themselves not something off of google or a link you got sent and make sure dates of upload match dated of announcements
5- if the mod or cc creator has retired and hasn't posted for a while LOOK AT THE DATES OF THE UPLOAD if it has been "updated recently" after the creator has left the community its most likely re-uploaded by a hacker and infected
6- download mod gaurd by Twisted mexi and keep it updated and keep your windows defender or malware detector Program up to date and always running do not disable it
7- make sure everything you download comes from a direct link from the cc creator, in this day and age do not trust link shortners, adfly, linkverse, etc get the universal bypass extension and ublock extension to stay safe but genuinely NEVER CLICK ON THOSE no matter how much the creator reassures you its safe it. is. NOT.
8- this is more of a general saftey precaution but, create a system restore point weekly before you run the game with new mods that way if anything happens you could have a chance to restore your windows to an earlier date before you downloaded anything.
9- BACK UP YOUR SHIT im serious right now either weekly or monthly put your files somewhere safe like a usb a storage card a hard drive even an online cloud if you dont have any of the previous.
10- files you should back up are your media from games and media everything else, any mods, games saves, work files, passwords, saved bookmarks, any documents txt files word files pdfs, links you saved, brushes or actions for Photoshop if you have any, any digital bills or certificates if you have any, and keep a physical list of all programs you have installed and where you installed them from
11- turn on any 2 factor authentication and security measures for any account you have
12- google and firefox have the option to check your paswords and emails against any data leaks USE THIS FEATURE and change any leaked passwords
13- regularly check your logged in sessions to make sure all the logged in devices or computers are yours and log out any that aren't and any old devices or unused sessions do this for every website and app you have an account on if available
14- change your passwords often. I know this is a hassle i know its hard to come up with new passwords but changing your passwords every few months will help you against anything mention previously that wasn't detected.
15- and as a cc creator check your cc and the accounts you host cc on and its uplaod and update dates make sure nothing has been changed without your permission :(
16- generally try not to get swept up in the "i must get it" fever you do not need to "shop" for mods weekly or monthly you do not need to download everything by that one creator you do not need to download new cc everytime you want to make a sim, im guilty of this so i know how hard it is to resist but take a breath and think "do i want this or do i need it" before downloading.
These are prevention methods i cant claim they are 100% will prevent any hacking but its better to be safe than sorry and these do keep you safe so
Brought to you by someone who has had their laptop ruined and data leaked from downloading cc once upon a time

Kindly take a break from scrolling to read this, it's important.
Take your time to grieve and come to terms with the election results, but once you've done that, it's time to get to work. We have two months. And a lot to do in that time. We have to prepare, to be ready.
Be careful about what you post or say online. Anything potentially incriminating should be avoided. Threatening language, even if clearly a joke, can be used against you.
Know someone who's trans? Someone who's had an abortion? Someone who's LGBTQIA+? Someone who's an immigrant? Someone who attends protests? Someone who's disabled? Someone who might in any way be at risk due to laws being put into place? No you don't.
Move away from social media platforms and browsers that require you to use your real identity or input a large amount of personal information. Now's a good time to find alternate means of communicating online. Tails, Element, Tor, Mastodon, Firefox, and Lemmy are all decent options.
Find a community. Someone you can talk to, either online or in real life, that you'll have reliable contact with. We need to try and create a network, but one that's as anonymous as possible.
Start scrubbing your trail as much as possible. Get rid of old accounts that can still be traced to you but are no longer used, delete personal data off the internet. There are websites out there that will freely remove your data from the internet, but be careful about which one you use, make sure it's safe and legitimate first.
Change any usernames that you can that contain any personal information. Names, birthdays, anything.
Plan B has a four year shelf life. Stock up, but don't take more than you you'll need. We don't want a COVID repeat where everyone buys an excessive amount of things and leaves none for everybody else.
There are doctors that will sterilize you, if that's the way you want to go.
Stop using online period trackers right now. Delete all data from it if possible first, then delete the app itself. If you must, write it down, but in a subtle manner and on something you keep at home. Don't label it, just put the dates. If you're really worried, discard older records and only keep the most recent few, and label the dates as other random events, like "go to mall" or "chicken salad for dinner this night"
Get your vaccines now.
Save money.
Archive. We have to start collecting records, media, data, books, and articles now. On racism, on fascism, on homophobia, on gender, on self-reliance, on survival, on safe travels routes, on equality, on justice, on anything that may be useful and/or censored soon. We can't let them erase it.
Collect those online resources. Bookmark them, copy files into your storage, Screenshot pages. Create a decentralized library where everyone is working to be part of a whole, storing what they can individually and sharing it between one another. Again, be careful about doing this.
Second-hand bookstores are your best friend. Books are usually very cheap in them, and they often have a decent stock. See what you can find.
When buying ANYTHING I have mentioned above, or anything else that maybe put you in danger, try to use cash to reduce your spending trail.
Check your car information online, many newer models can be remotely tracked.
Turn your phone completely off if you may be at risk due to your location and current activities. Turning off your GPS also helps.
Take note of where you are. Who are your friends? Who's a safe person? Where can you go besides your own home that you know you'll be safe? Establish these connections now.
Who around you is not safe? Who and where do you need to avoid? Do you need to move? If you cannot afford moving but need to, there are fundraisers that can help you. If even that is not an option, at least try to make sure your home is secure. Have someone who can help you. Have a fallback safe place.
And finally, I want anyone with resources to put them in the replies. Flood it with useful links, information, tips, anything. We're in this together. Do not panic. Organize.
EDIT: Please be civil in the replies.

Reposting from Morgana Alba on Facebook.
It's a reality check for white US Americans that there's WORK involved in emigration or asylum.
One comment on the original post was, "we're not leaving, my husband would never, he's too attached to his family" and the reply "if that's so, you could be the point person looking after /helping manage things for someone else who's got to flee.
Another point: the assumption that folks have $$ wherewithal and physical health enough to do the process as described. I understand that's not true for all of us, but there's a few items in this list that are good for anyone to try and accomplish:
Get a passport
Get all your important documents in a safe, grabbable space
Set up power of attorney for legal matters (your home, your pets if you have to leave them behind, etc)
Research and network for a possible safe landing person or location.
Otherwise, read the list, have a good think about what might apply to your situation, and start doing your research.
....
Morgana Alba:
You need to have a plan - Actually, you need 3.
(TL/DR - get a passport, a foreign one if you qualify, and start with anything in plan B to take actionable steps today to set yourself up for success)
Just in case you should ever need to uproot your life and move out of a country, for any reason, nothing in particular: you should have 3 plans. Not options. Not ideas. Plans. And I realize not everyone as raised like I was so I’m going to tell you how to make them. (And Step 1 is to have a passport. Do that immediately)
First of all, to be a plan it needs a clear objective, identified required steps, and a trigger point. A trigger point is the deciding factor or event that will automatically activate that plan. You must decide what your lines in the sand are in advance. Historic events rarely feel historic when you’re in them and if you don’t decide what you will not accommodate before you’re in it, incrementalism will paralyze you.
For the best coverage, start with plan C and work backwards.
*****
Plan A: Leaving under the best possible circumstances.
This is where a lot of you get stuck. Leaving under the best possible circumstances is a privilege but it’s not the only way out. This takes a lot of time and research and honestly you should have started this plan a year ago if it was what you wanted. To leave via plan A you should:
1. Research what countries you can live in long term and make a living in. This could mean countries you could transfer to with your current employer, countries that are expat friendly, or countries where you qualify for a work visa. If you have living grandparents or aunts that are citizens of and living in a foreign country you may even qualify for a foreign passport. Start that process now.
2. Start learning the language
3. Apply for jobs in that country
4. Find temporary or long term housing
5. Once you have residency and financial support/employment you can sell anything you aren’t moving and leave.
Trigger point for plan A is typically finding employment for most people.
*****
Plan B: Creating the flexibility for short or long term, potentially temporary, absence
This plan is about restructuring your life so that you could leave quickly even if you don’t have the security of Plan A.
1. Determine where you could go, short term. With a U.S. passport you could stay in most countries up to 3 months as a tourist but wouldn’t be allowed to work locally. Call up friends who live abroad and see who would be ok with a long visit if need be.
2. Start selling things you don’t necessarily love. Do a clothing and items purge. If you do have to leave without plan A there may not be the time for storage and sales so start reducing possessions now while you have the time to be mindful.
3. If you own a place, consider getting a roommate or having family move in so that you may not necessarily have to sell if you have to leave. Having someone else to look after the place and the added financial cushion of rent takes a lot of the pressure off during the departure. You’d have someone back home to ship or store your stuff or sell your car if you aren’t returning but you don’t have to make that call at the time.
4. Plan your financial support. Build up savings as you sell things. Look up what jobs will qualify for a digital nomad visa in the countries you’re considering visiting friends in, and very seriously start applying for remote work that fits those restrictions. Open a non-US based bank account to hold your savings. Get a credit card for this and only this. Stick it in the back of your wallet and forget about it.
5. Hoard Medication. Build up a 3-6 month supply of any required daily medications so that you have a cushion to hold you over between leaving and finding new medical care.
6. Digitize all your vital docs, including deeds and medical files. Store them in the cloud and email them to a friend who lives abroad
7. Have a plan for pets. With plan B you may be leaving them behind if you don’t know how long you’ll be gone or where you might settle. Talk to friends and family now about who would be willing to take them in in this situation.
Plan B is about giving you the most flexibility and options. You make big changes now so that you can be prepared to react to changes around you down the road. Trigger Point for plan B is often unique to the individual and involves law changes like access to medical support or the safety of their finances/job/marriage.
*****
Plan C: Run.
This plan is a last resort. It’s easier and less scary than most people think. But you absolutely need to be ready, and you need to know, firmly, what your trigger point is. This plan is for leaving in an emergency, potentially under scrutiny and persecution, with absolutely no plan to return. You should do as much of Plan B as you can, but you can still do plan C without that prep.
1. Have a go-bag. Your go bag is a waterproof, fireproof, personal-item sized piece of luggage that lives pre-packed with your vital documents (passport, medical records, SSN card, birth certificate, marriage certificate, name change docs, any extra photo IDs etc), your medications, around $1000 in non-sequential twenties, your emergency CC, addresses, phone numbers, and info written down for who you could go visit, proof of ownership docs for your house and/or car, and a single change of utilitarian clothing. Keep a pair of sturdy boots next to it if they don’t fit in it.
2. Pack your carry on. In this bag pack your jewelry, photo albums, grandma’s ashes, etc: whatever bits of precious you couldn’t possibly abandon. You need to make those decisions now, not in the moment. This suitcase must meet the SMALLEST restrictions on carryons for international flights (often smaller than what we’re used to in the U.S., typically 22" x 14" x 9") fill any extra space with toiletries or clothing as they reduce suspicion, but don’t prioritize packing clothing or comfort items. You can get that wherever you’re going.
3. These bags live packed in a safe place near the back door of your house; or in your car.
4. Decide where to run to and have a conversation about cover. In this scenario, if your trigger point is a certain executive order, your goal is to get to airport before enforcement goes into place. You need to know where you’re going and “why” your ticket is last minute in advance. Call up whoever is the safe person you’re running to and build the story. “Someone died suddenly” is a good one. This person needs to be ok with you showing up with 0 warning, and automatically going to the cover story if they one-day randomly get a call from a customs agent asking them to confirm why you’re traveling. If you have kids, have go bags for them as well, and only tell them the cover story.
5. Plan for your pet. Once you decide where you will run to look up what you would need to bring your pet and have those things ready to go (carrier, shot record, etc). Also plan for a situation where you have to leave your pet behind. Discuss with friends and family and get a commitment on who would take then in
6. Have a point person that is remaining behind that you trust to handle your affairs. If you have to run with no notice like this, you need someone here to sell your car, ship any possessions you need, cancel your lease, etc. Find your person and have the conversation about that now.
7. If you need to run you grab your go bags and maybe your pet carrier and you get on a plane. Use your normal bank accounts if you can, and your cash and emergency credit card if you can’t. Buy the ticket online if possible. If it has to be in person look for a visible minority ticket agent and if you’re questioned about the last-minute travel lean on the “my mother just died while visiting my aunt in France (or wherever you’re running). I have to go, I’m so distraught, taking my emotional support cat and kid cause idk when I’ll be back, there’s just so much to figure out. My Aunt has dementia. I have to get there before she does something crazy”
8. Try not to worry about what comes next. Humans have cut and run for thousands of years. You can do it. Immediate defense of life comes first. Everything else can be figured out after you’re safe. Don’t let worry over the logistics keep you in a dangerous situation.
Those are three plans you should have. But keep in mind there’s a lot of middle ground. Do as much of B as you can, and if you have to leave without a job, you can figure it out there. The place you run to doesn’t have to be where you’ll settle. You’l have more time to plan after you’re safe.
Americans have this warped idea of immigration. We believe other countries are as insanely draconian about it as we are but that’s not the case. Do your research. Make your plans. And don’t let fear of the unknown or a lack of planning keep you in danger. You can always just pack your bags and get on a plane to a friend’s place or a Sikh temple, and figure the rest of it out when you get there.
But definitely get your passport

Back Up Often, Back Up Local.
Hey kids, it's your local elder millenial coming at you live to remind you that anything on a cloud server or a social media network (including this one) is not to be considered secure. If you have artwork or writing you value, back up often, and back up local. Storage space is cheap, get yourself some USB sticks or an external drive and store that shit, or god forbid, if you're lucky enough to have access to an optical drive every so often burn a disc of archived works. There is no promise that an online server you post to will be there tomorrow. I've just learned that ello shuttered overnight and took down all the artwork stored there. It's no big one to me because I store local, but there's a lot of people who are hurting due to the loss, and I've been there kids. I did heaps of really interesting writing and artwork that I published on servers that don't even exist anymore. Even well maintained, well loved servers reach the end of their lifespan and are switched off, decommissioned, and or compromised. Power outages, natural disaster, the works - keep it in your own hands, and you know exactly where it is and what state it's in.
If you have questionable living arrangements or dangerous people around you that make your art or writing insecure at home, the next best thing is to email to a trusted friend and get them to download and store local.
Storing across multiple platforms is better than nothing, I guess, if you don't have that option - so Google Drive and Protondrive, multiple different email addresses (mail them back and forth) and private posts on networks on which you don't usually publish (Dreamwidth is still going strong and is actively involved in fighting restrictive social media laws - they deserve your attention).
If you write in Google docs, for the love of pterry back it up or post it privately somewhere else once it's done.
No one tells the young people, so I am going to - back up often, and back up local. If you live through your art, keep it in your own hands. Do not trust corporations to keep your shit safe for you, and remember - you can never have too many backups.
#public service announcement#back up often#back up local#old lady learnings#i've been on these tubes for long enough that the tube reference makes sense#I got my first email address in a year with a 19 at the front#I've lost more data than I can possibly describe#back up often back up local

marine aliens again
I was thinking up some world beholding things for my aliens again, mainly the manatee based one but some aspects could work for the rest unless I get a different idea later
More information about the doodles below if you’re interested, like a lot of info lol.
Top left corner: I was thinking how they manatees may depict themselves or simplify their image and I ended up with these little idols! They would most commonly be carved from drift woods or stone in common use such as toys, decor, art, etc. with the exception of larger more intricate idols used for offerings, statues or alters with the swirls on them showing areas of importance or strength
Left middle: manatee patterns tend towards rounded shapes, circles and wiggly lines as it reminds them or various shapes of water, stones, swaying plants in the currents and so on. This also carries over into their food prep in some ways, such as the small rounded shapes of stuffed knotted plants for common meals while the larger ‘leaf’ patterns are used in mass storage of stable plants such as kelps and seaweeds.
Bottom left: a manatee tapestry idea depicting a matron, made from various fibers of marine plants. Culture wise weaving, macrame, and other various similar crafts are import to them since they view the actions as essential to their lifestyles for fabrics of various uses like clothing and bedding as well as being able to properly store large quantities of staple foods.
Top right: the common ‘bowl’ types for under water dining, left one is for ‘sinking’ foods that you don’t have to worry about floating away from the table while downturn right ‘bowl’ is for such foods that you would expect to float away. The downturn ‘bowels’ can also come in clear glass varieties depending on location to allow the person to see what they’re getting, larger restaurants normally have this option.
Right middle: common utensils for underwater dining, hooked is mainly for meats or scooping things out of shells/exoskeletons. The two pronged utensil is used for mostly plant based foods or large pieces of a meal. Spoons or ‘tailed’ utensils are for meals with many small pieces that are stuck together which isn’t a common occurrence outside of things like caviar or mushed foods to help a calf struggling to adjust to solid foods after being weened off of milk. Gripped tongs are used for live food that would be unsafe to eat if it wear dead, similar to lobster being unsafe when it’s not fresh but manatees just decide to eat those types of critters live (young calf’s who haven’t had live meals yet will often dare each other to do so while hanging out)
Right bottom: shown here is the dining table preferred by manatees with anchor bars to hold the meal bowls securely, normally with multiple anchors for each person wether it’s for mixed meals or the average meal which compared to a humans (2-3% of their weight) to a manatees (15-20% of their weight) is a lot of food or at the very least calorie rich. The middle groove serves as an arm rest as well as safe spot for each persons utensils to be stored, sanitary items to clean up before and after meals.
Finally on the bottom are ports that have retractable fresh water taps to drink with meals that typically connects to a water tank below the table that’s connected to a large tank of clean salt water that is processed into fresh as needed. Each tap has a twistable ring around the nozzle to stop the one way water flow to help avoid drinking the salt water in the room as well as to prevent waste of fresh water.

Hello! Hope you're doing well 😊 If you write for Sentomaru, may I request a scenario in which the reader (gender neutral or unspecified if that's okay) gifts him a handmade bouquet blanket? If you haven't seen it, it's a circular blanket with crochet flowers along the edge that looks like a bouquet when you fold it and roll it up. Thank you so much in advance!
----------------
Sentomaru is an option. And I’ll go for the unspecified option, then. That way, it reads like the best of both worlds.
Specific, a bouquet blanket! And it looks super cute in the foto’s I have seen flashing by.
----------------
Sentomaru

The dull hum of the Marine Science Unit’s machinery buzzed outside Sentomaru's office, a ceaseless backdrop to the monotony of his paperwork. He never enjoyed the clerical side of his role, but he handled it with the same stoic efficiency he brought to everything else. He’d just finished reviewing a stack of routine field reports back in the lab. Nothing extraordinary, just the usual grind, when something unusual caught his eye once he stepped into his office.
A blanket.
It lay neatly folded on the chair beside his desk, a stark contrast to the room’s cold, metallic interior. Thick and soft, it was clearly handmade, with the edges embroidered in an elegant pattern of wisteria and carnations. The colors were subdued but carefully chosen, the craftsmanship meticulous. Tucked beneath the top fold was a small, handwritten note.
"Thanks again, for what you did back on Honey Dew Island. You didn’t have to, but I’m glad you did. Thought this might suit you. ~You know who."
No signature. Just a familiar flourish. But he didn’t need a name. The scent lingering faintly on the fabric; yours, was enough. Or maybe he was imagining that part. Still, the tone of the message, that subtle deflection of sincerity… You couldn’t have been anyone else.
He raised one thin brow, not just at the gift itself, but at the fact you'd managed to sneak it in here. His office wasn’t exactly a revolving door. Security was tight, and most personnel didn’t dare enter uninvited.
His mind briefly flashed back to the mission. Honey Dew Island. A logistical nightmare turned ambush. You’d insisted you could handle yourself, and he’d believed you. You were strong and competent. Still, he hadn’t hesitated to wade into the chaos, deploying a Pacifista unit to clear a path and get you out. You hadn’t asked for help, but he’d given it. And now, it seemed, you were returning the favor.
His broad hand reached out, calloused fingers brushing lightly across the embroidery. The detail was fine. Had you made this yourself? Or commissioned it with instructions only you could give?
Either way, he wasn’t leaving it out.
With a grunt, Sentomaru folded the blanket again, even neater than before, and crossed the room to the storage cabinet. He opened it, placed the gift carefully inside and shut the door with a soft thud. Out of sight, but nowhere near forgotten.
He wouldn’t explain it if someone saw. Wouldn’t tolerate the questions. This was his now. A private treasure, not meant for public knowledge. He could already imagine the mocking grins, the sideways looks. But in solitude, when the air chilled and the silence grew long, he’d wrap himself in it. In your thoughtfulness.
"If anyone else saw this..." he muttered, pressing a hand to the cabinet door. His voice was quiet, edged with menace. A small, knowing smirk ghosted across his lips. "I’d break their jaw just for asking."
Back at his desk, he picked up the note again, studied the handwriting one last time, then slid it into the top drawer. Safe.
"I didn’t do it for thanks," he said to the empty room. His voice was rough but low. Then, almost reluctantly, a softer echo followed: "But... you’re welcome."
Later that month, when he crossed paths with you again, he’d casually asked where you found the time to do something like that. If you've even made it yourself. You’d only shrugged and smiled. Keeping it cryptic.
"The sentiment’s what matters in the end, right?"
It did matter. More than he liked to admit.
It was platonic. He knew that.
But it didn’t stop the warmth that bloomed quietly in his chest whenever he thought about it.
He’d never tell you he kept the blanket close. He didn’t need to.
You said the sentiment mattered. And for now, that was more than enough.
And until it wasn’t, he’d keep it close.
He’d keep you close.
Even if you never knew how close.

I’m going to London and just realised I get in at 7am but my hotel check in isn’t until 3pm, does anyone have suggestions on what to do for that length of time or should I just pay £20 for early check in?
A disclaimer first: Requesting early check-in doesn't typically guarantee the room is available. It really depends on what kind of occupancy and turnover the hotel has, and traditionally early check-in means 1-2 hours early, not 8 hours early, so you might just be giving away your money at this point.
But don't worry! There are options!
First - the free option: See if your hotel will hold your luggage for you. It should be on their website but if not, give them a call and ask. It's pretty common so most likely anyone you talk to at the hotel will be familiar. If they do have a hold luggage program, then there shouldn't be a cost to you since you haven't checked into the hotel yet. (There is a nominal fee if the hotel holds your luggage after you check-out, though, but the service is available on that side of a trip too.)
And if the hotel does hold luggage, it is perfectly safe and secure to leave your things with them - the luggage is kept behind the front desk or in a secured storage room near the front desk. Obviously take your purse/day bag/money with you, but otherwise bury your valuables in your suitcase, put a luggage lock on, and you'll be fine.
Then treat yourself to a leisurely post-travel meal (trust me, you will be hungry), then either book one of those bus sightseeing tours to get the lay of the land/people-watch or go to a museum. (When I was in your shoes, I went to the British Museum - it was big and I knew I could kill a few hours there.)
If you're worried about jet lag kicking in, then go see a movie and if you fall asleep, you fall asleep. It's the movies. It happens. Don't worry about it.
Second - the cheap option: if the hotel doesn't hold luggage, get a luggage locker at a London train station. It'll be a small fee - I think it's around $/£5 - but you put your stuff in there and same deal; take your purse, get something to eat, go sightseeing, then around 3pm you go back to the train station, get your stuff, and head on over to the hotel.
Third - the "treat yo'self option": if it's in your budget, you could modify your hotel reservation to start the day before you arrive so you actually can check-in as soon as you get to the hotel. You will have to call/notify the hotel what you're doing so they don't give the room away (just tell them 'I booked my reservation to start on the 13th but I'm actually arriving around 7am on the 14th). It is costly because you're paying for a mostly empty room, but the assurance and peace of mind that you have it when you arrive may be worth the cost, especially since it's never guaranteed that requesting early check-in means you can check in early.
If none of that works for you, then go ahead and request early check-in but do remember that it is a risk so have a Plan B in case you don't get it and if you don't get it, demand your money back.

Unleashing Style and Safety: The Ultimate Guide to Motorcycle Leather Boots

Regarding riding gear, motorcycle leather boots are more than just a fashion statement—they're a crucial element of safety and comfort on the road. Whether you're a seasoned rider or just starting, investing in the right boots can make all the difference in your riding experience. From protection against the elements to enhancing your overall riding performance, here’s everything you need to know about motorcycle leather boots:
Why Choose Leather Boots?
Durability: Leather is renowned for its durability, making it an ideal material for motorcycle boots that need to withstand constant wear and tear.
Protection: Motorcycle boots are designed with reinforced materials and ergonomic features to protect your feet, ankles, and lower legs from impact, abrasion, and the elements.
Comfort: Quality leather boots are comfortable for long rides, offering support and flexibility where needed while maintaining breathability.
Key Features to Look For:
Material: Opt for full-grain leather or high-quality synthetic leather. These materials offer the best combination of durability and comfort.
Armor: Look for boots with built-in ankle protection, toe caps, and shin guards to shield against impact and abrasion.
Waterproofing: Consider boots with waterproof membranes to keep your feet dry in rainy conditions.
Closure System: Choose between traditional laces, Velcro, or zippers based on your preference for ease of use and security.
Sole: A grippy, oil-resistant sole provides stability and traction, crucial for maintaining control of your bike.
Style and Functionality:
Classic vs. Sport: Classic leather boots offer timeless style and versatility, while sportier options may include additional features like ventilation for warmer climates.
Color Choices: From classic black to bold colors, choose a style that complements your riding gear and personal taste.
Fit: Proper fit is essential for comfort and safety. Ensure your boots provide enough room for movement without being too loose.
Maintenance Tips:
Cleaning: Regularly clean your boots with a damp cloth to remove dirt and grime. Use leather conditioner to keep the material supple and prevent cracking.
Storage: Store your boots in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to maintain their shape and prevent leather from drying out.
Repair: Address any minor scuffs or tears promptly with leather repair kits to prolong the lifespan of your boots.
Conclusion:
Investing in a high-quality pair of motorcycle leather boots is an investment in both style and safety. Whether you're cruising down the highway or navigating challenging terrain, the right boots will enhance your riding experience while providing essential protection. Explore different styles, features, and brands to find the perfect pair that suits your riding style and personal preferences. Starfall: Chapter 6: I See Red
Previous Chapter Next Chapter

Star hadn’t thought she’d end up at another GUN base so soon after getting out of the last one, but the nearest Chaos Emerald’s readings were coming from a barrier island off the coast of Florida. It was at least on the same side of the country as Ivo’s base, and Star had taken one of his flying contraptions that looked a bit like a sailboard for most of the journey until the terrain forced her to move on foot. The view was even near-charming if one could overlook the alligators, the base hidden inside Anastasia State Park. She picked her way through the swamps and woods, skating over the surface of the murky water and giving the eerie eyeshine of other creatures in the water a hard stare to discourage any of them from wasting her time. They weren’t Mobian, just animals, and she knew they meant nothing more than a means to their own survival. But any time fighting them would be time wasted. She didn’t intend to stay on Earth any longer than necessary.
When she found the base, it was a dull gray monolith among the colors and textures of nature. GUN certainly didn’t waste funding on frivolity… just torture, it seemed. Part of her wondered if she could have just called Abe and asked for the Emerald, but she doubted he’d hand it over. Even to get back at Shadow, who he seemed to still harbor the same dislike he’d held for them both as a child. He’d been nicer to her, perhaps out of guilt or obligation now that he’d found out she tried to save his parents… but he was still a GUN operative. Specifically their Commander… no, he wouldn’t arm her. She was a living weapon as it was. He had to know that much, since GUN had been the ones paying for her and Shadow’s creation all those years ago.
With no other option her mission was simple, get in without alerting security, grab the emerald in their storage locker, and then get out. She knew she could march in and destroy everything if she wanted to, and wipe out the entire base. But she had a handful of abilities she’d successfully hidden during the experiments on her in the High Security Facility, and she was curious to test them out. There was a chance to find out what she was capable of, and who she might have been before GUN made sure she became what they accused Gerald of making her when they killed him. A weapon of mass destruction.
Chaos, she was so tired of the self-fulfilling prophecy. She hadn’t wanted any of it. She’d wanted to stay on the ARK, safe and happy. She’d only ever wanted to cure Maria’s sickness and spend her unnatural life span curled up with Shadow. Such a stupid, childish, impossible dream… but it had been hers.
She carefully inched to the shadowed side of the base, having timed her approach to the cover of nightfall. She was outside of the perimeter sensors, and when the darkness reached her she melted into it and went semi-translucent. She moved slower in this form and if anyone stared hard enough while she was moving they’d spot her, but as long as she was quiet and careful she could glide through the shadows unnoticed.
Once upon a time, she had used this ability to play hide and seek around the ARK, challenging Maria and Shadow to find her. When Star got older, they’d hide from each other and test their other senses to try to hunt one another down. It had been a game, one of her favorites because it was one of the few times that Shadow’s attention was 100% on her.
Star wasn’t playfully hiding any more, she was on the hunt. Still missed the little flickers of red in the darkness, Shadow’s eyes searching for her during their games. She missed him, even if her heart was broken because of him. He’d meant so much to her… he still did. Maria and Gerald were always her origins, but Shadow had been the future. A future that was gone with the launch of an escape pod, when he’d decided for some inexplicable reason to abandon her and Gerald in a bid to save Maria, and then never come back for them after she was gunned down.
She melted into the floor and reformed on the other side of the storage locker door, flickering back into her usual form and climbing a shelf to start digging through boxes for the emerald. The Master Emerald in her pocket seemed to call for the one here, and she honed in on the little hum only she could hear.
When she opened the correct drawer and found what she was looking for, a little happy hum escaped her. The Emerald was red, too. Almost like it was meant to be hers, shining in her favorite color.
She wrapped her fingers around it, that flash of power down her spine making her tail twitch until she put it in her bag next to the Master Emerald. It wasn’t that heavy, but when she zipped the bag up it felt like she was carrying a grown man on her back all of a sudden. I don’t remember it feeling like this when we used the Emerald on the ARK. Why is it so heavy?
She wasn’t sure if power had physical weight, or if she was just exhausted. She hadn’t slept properly in Chaos only knew how long, and was propped up on cheap GUN coffee before she’d left Abe. Spots flashed in her vision as she stood there, and she had to brace against the wall to avoid falling until her head cleared.
She shook herself like an etch-a-sketch to try to sort the fog before gritting her teeth and warping out of the base, back in the shadow of the wall and embrace of nightfall. She could hear the footsteps of soldiers doing their rotation inside, they hadn’t noticed yet that she’d come and gone. She sat down for a moment, leaning against the gray stone, and closed her eyes.
When was the last time I slept?
She couldn’t even remember. But after a long moment of catching her breath, she melted again out of sight of the monolith building. Carefully, she started picking her way through the swamps and woods again until it was open enough she could activate her sailboard, and ride the air currents in the direction of the mainland. The spots in her vision were coming back, and she needed a way to outrun her exhaustion. A gallon of coffee, or something stronger…

Star managed to make it to the mainland, taking a minute to sit in the sand of a little beach town. Her head hurt and her eyes stung, feeling wrung out and raw. She rested her arms on her knees, looking out at the water with a groan as the mosquitoes started buzzing around her ears. “I hate this planet…”
“Oh, Star…”
Star looked up, squinting at the shimmery light coming off the water. She didn’t see anything, but she knew the voice “Maria…”
“What are you doing, Star? You look so unhappy…”
“I… I really am.” Star admitted, ears drooping. “I want to go home… everything’s wrong and I’m so tired.” Her eyes watered up and she hung her head. “I don’t want to do this all alone.”
“You’re never alone. I’m here. Why don’t you call for help, and rest a little bit? It’s okay.”
“It isn’t. I can’t stop….”
“You can’t boil an empty kettle, Star.”
“I thought the saying was to pour from an empty cup. I remember Professor used to tell us that.” Star squinted. Was she cracking up and forgetting things?
“An empty cup is just empty. An empty kettle will burn and be destroyed.” It almost felt like ghostly little fingertip touched the inhibitor ring on her left upper arm, though there was no warmth to be transferred. “I don’t want you to be destroyed.”
“I think I already am, Maria.” Star whispered.
“Call Ivo to pick you up, and sit to rest. There’s a park bench over there.”
Star looked ahead of herself. Sure enough, there was a bench right by a gas station. She looked back at where Maria’s voice had come from, hoping for a glimpse of blonde and blue but there was nothing beside her but sand and sea. “Hallucination…” She mumbled, getting up and dusting the sand off herself. Maria might have been a figment of her exhausted imagination, but she had a point. Ivo could send a bot to pick her up rather than her running halfway across the continent for a base. She touched her earpiece. “I need a pickup.”
“I didn’t take you for lazy.” Eggman huffed.
“Even Ultimate Lifeforms get tired. I’ll send my coordinates, just send your little butler bot. He’s pleasant.” She hung up on him and looked around, eyes drifting to the dark shop windows just down from the gas station that had energy drinks in a cooler by the window. She fumbled in her bag, past the priceless magical gemstones with the capabilities to destroy the world, and found a small billfold with some cash tucked in it. Abe must have tossed it in there as an act of goodwill… she almost felt guilty she’d just stolen from his people. Almost.
She walked over to the gas station and pushed the door open, jumping when the cashier gave a cheery hello. Small talk was lost on her nowadays, but she managed a polite wave. Once upon a time she’d always had a smile and hello for passing researchers in the hallway of the ARK… it had been easy then. She’d usually have one hand wrapped into Shadow or Maria’s, Shadow giving a nod and Maria a cheerful wave as someone told them all good morning. That feeling of community she missed dearly, but even when she got back it wouldn’t be there. Going home didn’t mean home was there…
She snapped herself out of the melancholy that somehow only made her feel more tired, and picked up a six pack of the energy drink with the most caffeine per ounce. As she headed for the counter, she paused at a row of brightly packaged cosmetics. Lipsticks, eyeshadows, and nail polish, all in a brilliant scorching red.
After a moment of hesitation, Star picked out one of each. After everything she’d been through… why not? What was makeup but a little war paint for her campaign, after all? And when she did finally see Shadow again… she wanted him to like it. Even if it was just to remind him what he’d left behind, she wanted him to think she was pretty before she finally defied her destiny, and severed what was between them for good.

“It’s all over the news now, Sonic.” Tail hovered anxiously next to his friend as the T.V. played. “Another Emerald missing, and they released a security tape of the thief.”
Knuckles pointed grumpily. “Yes. That’s the black hedgehog again! Shadow is on another rampage, and we must stop him.”
“I’m telling you, it can’t be Shadow.” Sonic groaned, shrinking into a chair. “Look at the outline. The quills are too short!”
“You sure it’s not a trick of the light? They curl up like his.” Tails frowned. The tape quality was awful, a black quilled figure climbing shelves in the thick shadow of an unlit room. When they had finally gotten their hands on the Emerald, its red light hadn’t made anything much clearer. But they had warped out of the room the way Shadow did in a fight.
“It’s not him. I know my buddy. He’s over the evil villain shtick.” Sonic mumbled. “He said it himself; it’s not what his friend Maria would want.”
“That was before you brought up his dead girlfriend.”
Knuckles looked at Sonic incredulously as Tails glared at Sonic. “That’s what you did? He did not need another motive for world destruction!”
“You guys act like I did it on purpose. How was I supposed to know about her?” He grumbled. “It’s not like Shadow is exactly forthcoming about stuff…”
“The guy is either telling you he wants to kill you, actually trying to kill you, or having an existential crisis.” Tails sighed.
“Shadow? He’s the toughest person I’ve ever met.” Sonic looked surprised.
“No, he’s the most guarded person you’ve ever met.” Knuckles huffed. “And very powerful, yes. But it seems that is not the same as invincibility.”
Sonic’s ears drooped. “It can’t be him, guys. I’m sure of it. Let’s go check his house again. Maybe he’s home.”
“Alright, but I don’t think it’s going to make a difference.” Tails sighed, much too wise for his age, and they headed out for the trek they’d made every day since this had all started with the first GUN base getting shut down. Sonic kept reminding him that Shadow had been home when that one happened, but it had been slow to break the news. Shadow was as fast if not faster than Sonic himself, he’d have time to get there and back before Sonic started checking up on people.
Unbeknownst to the trio heading for his place, Shadow was pulling out of the driveway on his motorcycle at the same time. He’d been itching to get out of the house for days, but Sonic kept turning up about the time he’d talked himself out of what he had to admit was a depression nest of blankets. He needed to go somewhere less… domestic than a house. Somewhere to clear his head, and a ride without a destination felt like the best solution. Having the Dark Rider would at least limit him to places with a road and stifle the half-baked desire to get lost and never found again.
He knew his fondness for the bike was a physical hindrance. He could run faster than it could drive, and over more terrain. But he’d never quite forgotten how Star looked star-struck at one in an old movie he’d long since quit caring about the title of. He’d promised her he’d take her riding one day, when they got to Earth. When Maria got better, and took them both to see her home planet.
“You mean it?” She’d been sprawled across his bed, using him as a pillow. “We could race?”
“Nah. Ride with me.” He moved one arm from behind his head to rest it across the small of her back. “Then you can enjoy the view, and I’ll do the driving.”
“You just want me to hug you.” She teased.
“As if you don’t love that kind of stuff.”
“Are you saying you don’t like my hugs? Rude.”
“You’re the one laying on me, not the other way around.”
“You’re comfy. And fluffy.” She giggled, face dropping into his chest. He couldn’t resist a grin, curling around her. Chaos, he loved her so much. He just didn’t know how to tell her without it sounding dumb-
Fifty years later, Shadow wished he’d told her when he’d had the chance. He hoped she knew anyway, somehow. She’d always been quicker to pick up little emotional cues than he had… sometimes he desperately wished she was there to help him make his way through this new world with new people and new rules, without Maria or Gerald to outline it.
Right now he just wished she was behind him, arms around him and her cheek against the back of his shoulder. He could almost perfectly imagine it, her hands clasped over his stomach and her grin just outside his periphery. At a stop, he could turn his head to see her. She’d give him a smile brighter than the sun, pearly white fangs gleaming and big blue eyes sparkling. He’d have made her wear a helmet, and she’d complain about him being overprotective, but how could he not be when he knew how terrible everything felt without her?
If he had one more chance, he’d keep her safe like he was supposed to. Her and Maria both, like he’d promised Gerald and failed to keep it. Logically, he knew he’d been playing a losing game. All the power in the world, even the Ultimate Life Form, couldn’t stop an international government agency like GUN once they’d made up their minds to attack the ARK. Not without becoming the kind of person he’d only become after Maria and Star had died. It was a cruel paradox, the only way to save them was the pain of seeing them die.
He’d never shake the loss, and he knew it. It was as embedded in him as his quills, the ways he’d broken without them. His sardonic wit, his guarded nature, his inability to face any conflict without immediately feeling unbridled rage burning him from the inside. He couldn’t get close to anyone else or summon a measured response when under everything, he was terrified everything would be taken away from him again.
He didn’t want to imagine what Maria and Star would think, if they could see him now. Maria would probably be horrified; she’d wanted everyone to have a chance to be happy. She’d wanted him to be happy, and he was a little ashamed he couldn’t quite muster it within himself to try. And Star…
He could only imagine her with a hand on her hip, shaking her head as she took stock of his suspicion, temper, and aloofness. Those perfect blue eyes searching for his, worry in them even as her nose scrunched up into an adorable wrinkle. “That’s not you, Shadow.” She would have murmured, not a plea but a statement. She might have lacked confidence in herself sometimes, but when it came to him? She knew him better than anyone, and despite his flaws she’d said she liked what she saw. Star didn’t lie, either. Not to him. “You aren’t this mask you’re wearing. This isn’t who you are.” But it was. It was him, without her.

In today’s digital world, our smartphones are more than just devices—they're personal storage units for our lives. From treasured photos and confidential videos to sensitive contacts, private notes, and login credentials, we rely on our phones to keep it all safe. But what happens when that privacy is compromised? Whether it’s by someone snooping through your phone or a hacker trying to gain access remotely, your personal information could be at serious risk.
If you’ve been wondering how to protect your personal information from hackers, one tool that stands out for everyday users is SafeCalc. It combines powerful privacy features with a smart disguise—appearing as a simple calculator app on your phone. Let’s take a closer look at how this clever little app can protect your digital life without drawing any attention.
Hidden Photo and Video Vault
Most people store photos and videos that are deeply personal. These could be family moments, travel memories, or even private clips not meant for public eyes. SafeCalc offers a hidden vault that locks away your media files securely. Only you can access them using a private code, and because the app is masked as a calculator, no one would ever suspect it contains sensitive content.
Whether you're worried about someone borrowing your phone or concerned about data theft, keeping personal media secure is a solid first step in defending against privacy invasion.
Keep Your Contacts Truly Private
Some contacts are best kept confidential—close friends, work-related connections, or other sensitive relationships. SafeCalc includes a hidden contacts feature that stores important phone numbers away from your default contact list. This means even if someone is casually browsing your phone, these contacts won’t show up.
In cases where you might be dealing with business competitors, concerned about digital tracking, or just value your privacy, separating your personal contacts from public ones is a smart approach.
Secure Notes and Private Thoughts
We often jot down thoughts, ideas, reminders, or personal plans in our phone’s notes app. Sometimes these notes include access information or deeply personal content like journals or affirmations. SafeCalc features a secure notes locker that helps you keep this information under digital lock and key.
Unlike standard notes apps, the locker is encrypted and discreet. No icons, no flashy design—just a calculator on the surface and a secure storage zone underneath.
Smarter Management of Login Details
One of the most common habits that puts people at risk of hacking is using the same login details across multiple sites or apps. Remembering all your different usernames and access codes can be overwhelming, which leads many to cut corners. SafeCalc offers a protected area where you can store your login information, safely encrypted and easy to retrieve when needed.
This is especially helpful for people managing several online accounts, including work platforms, streaming services, and banking apps. Instead of using insecure options like writing them down or reusing old combinations, you can store them safely using a tool like SafeCalc.
Private and Secure Web Browsing
Your browsing history can reveal a lot about you—what you're searching for, where you're going online, and what kind of content you're consuming. SafeCalc includes a private browser that allows you to explore the internet without leaving behind traces like history logs or cookies.
This is ideal for those who value anonymity online, are researching sensitive topics, or simply want a more secure way to browse. It’s a practical solution for staying safe from trackers and minimizing the risk of phishing or targeted hacking attempts.
Built-In Backup and Restore Features
Even if you’ve locked everything away securely, there’s still the possibility of losing your phone or experiencing a technical failure. That’s why SafeCalc includes backup and restore capabilities. All your hidden content—photos, notes, contacts, and login data—can be saved securely and recovered when needed.
This feature offers peace of mind, especially for users who depend on their device as their primary storage. Backing up personal content is one of the most effective ways to safeguard against both hackers and accidental loss.
Why Use SafeCalc for Personal Security?
Unlike typical vault apps that are clearly labeled and attract curiosity, SafeCalc blends in perfectly. It functions like a normal calculator, making it an ideal choice for anyone who wants protection without drawing attention. The app is also designed with simplicity in mind—no complex settings or technical steps, just effective privacy in a user-friendly format.
It combines the power of multiple security apps into one: a photo and video vault, a hidden contact list, a secure notes locker, a login manager, and a private browser—all housed in an app that looks like a basic calculator.
For users looking for a discreet and effective way to safeguard their digital life, SafeCalc has become a trusted companion. Whether you’re worried about hackers, nosy friends, or just want more control over your personal data, it offers a comprehensive solution that fits right in your pocket.

You said something about the zlibrary and I have been saving all my books and articles on my google drive and I’m wondering is that a good option cause I didnt see on your post.
Google Drive is helpful but ultimately still owned by a mega corporation so your privacy isn't guaranteed. The best way to keep file backups is to vary your sources, don't keep everything on one single backup. Especially when it comes to cloud storage which is reliable on a company server that could go offline, get hacked, or seize your files.
The golden rule of backups is to work in threes: You should have three separate backups, so one through just direct access like your standard local harddrive (i.e. saved on your computer), one that's on an external device that can be hooked up to your PC in case the local drive fails (so a USB or external HDD), and one that's off-site so you can access it anywhere (or if the first two backups fail) like Google Drive or Dropbox.
This can apply to any files you want to keep safe and secure, especially files that are unique and can't be easily replicated (see: drawing files, important documents, digital media, etc.) It might sound overkill and a pain in the ass, but nothing's worse than losing a file forever because of HDD damage or server raids or whatever circumstances that are out of your control. Always be prepared!
Hope that helps! <3
