just to clear up some confusion im seeing, if you see panels from "Batman (1940)" it does not mean they were all published during the year 1940 😭 that is the year the run started! this is because there are two main Batman runs, one from 1940-2011 (#1-#731/#1000000) and then another one from 2016-ongoing (currently at #148). this is because there will be an overlap of issue numbers, and since both runs have the same name, to avoid confusion one run is "Batman (1940)" and the other is "Batman (2016)".
the same can be said for the two Detective Comics runs, "Detective Comics (1937)" (#1-961/#1000000) from 1937-2011 and "Detective Comics (2016)" (#934-ongoing), currently at #1084 from 2016-ongoing.
so instead of saying Batman #57, to make it clear from which run, it's easier to say Batman (2016) #57 !

Is there something in your EW au that nobody's ever asked you and you wanna talk about? Like a fun little detail or a scene/plot that didnt make it to the comic or something you wanted to do but couldnt because plot decided to go in a different direction so you had to change it up
One thing I can’t wait to get to, that I don’t get to talk about enough, is the meat of Leo and Splinter’s relationship. Leo and Splinter always have this special tie in all of the different iterations, but most of the time, this means they bond over ninjutsu and being buzz kills (<-that is a joke).
In the Rise universe, the writers changed Splinter and Leo fundamentally so much, but kept the constant that Leo is still the most like Splinter!….Only now, it’s in all the ways that kinda make them disasters. Instead of dependable master ninja, now, both are obnoxious showmen, avoidant when it most suits them, and smooth talkers. Leo thinks he’s Splinter’s least favorite, but he’s just as much Splinter Junior as all the other Leo’s. I love this consistency in change.
SO in EW, where Leo hates Splinter, we’ll get to see how that relationship works now—with Leo having worked hard under Saki to stamp these very traits out of his personality (and where he failed). And we’ll even see some of Splint’s old, unhealthy coping mechanisms/mental struggles be inherited by Leo, once he gets back home.

god fuckign dammit i cant stop thinking about thefucking hospital scene
just rewatched it and i don't want to spend 5 hours formatting a long unhinged twitter thread so here we are. i am mishmashing the game and anime and manga scenes together in my personal canon blender. p4 spoilers of course
cause like, naoto is the one to suggest they throw namatame into the TV. and kanji's on board with it too. but the one yu has to fight over it, the one yu has to think carefully about and talk down, is fucking yosuke hanamura.
of course everyone has a personal stake in it considering namatame was going around kidnapping everyone, but yosuke specifically...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
he phrases it like "we have to stop him before he hurts anyone else," but it seems like a big part of his motive is revenge. saki's kindness meant a lot to him, regardless of how real it was, or selfish his motive is, and it wasn't fair she had to die. so now he's gonna kill namatame. and it doesn't matter if that goes against his morals, or if no one else is willing to do it. he is absolutely dead set on killing namatame (pun intended). the only thing stopping him from doing it is yu.
it's ironic looking back. because like yosuke, namatame also lost someone important to him, and is trying to use his power to do what he thinks is right in his own way... just like yosuke wanted to be a hero, namatame wanted to be a savior, but yosuke is too blinded by rage in the moment to see that. the big difference is who got to them first. yosuke's had yu with him the whole time to keep him grounded, and eventually, the whole investigation team- namatame got adachi.
(side note- i more often think about yosuke+adachi parallels; how they're both bored with everything, but yosuke has the team and adachi pushes everyone away, but that's not really relevant rn lol)
there's also the scene where yu goes to confront the true killer alone, and yosuke's waiting outside when he comes back. and at that point he's not angry anymore, just… disappointed. (feelsbadman) but i don't think it's because he changed his mind.
after you calm him down in the hospital, he's STILL thinking about doing it:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(another side note- the va in this scene is top notch. this line gave me chills rewatching it. first time i saw the hospital scene i was getting a little scared lol)
and after learning the true killer's identity he fucking hates adachi. even after defeating him he never really forgives him. he still gets pissed and tries to attack adachi when he shows up unexpectedly in ultimax:
Tumblr media
yosuke was 100% willing to kill someone, and he'd 100% do it again if his partner gave the okay. but as much as he hates adachi, he understands that he's important to yu, enough to know yu would break their promise and sneak into the TV alone. and despite how he might feel, he doesn't want yu to lose someone important to him too.
there's also the scene in the anime after the hospital, where after yu tries to send everyone home promising he'll be okay, yosuke comes back to comfort him. he's still upset, but he's deferring to yu's leadership and more importantly, making sure that his partner is okay comes first.
that's why i think it's great the anime puts the fist fight after the hospital scene. cause he spends his whole social link struggling with his grief and insecurity and jealousy; and then, in december, with tensions running high and these nasty revelations about himself and awful feelings swirling inside, it all finally comes to a head. and he tries to get it all out in the only way he knows how: two dudes beating the shit out of each other. Thats True Love Babey.
not much of a point to all this, except that i really love yosuke's character (and souyo) lol. something is wrong with him. I Know What He Is. he's like the team mood maker and he's always joking around (and i think golden especially looooves to play him up for comic relief), but perhaps the moments when he lets the veneer slip are the moments where he shines the most.

DUDE im so curious about your white day au, could you tell us more about it ? :D
IM SORRY I FORGOT TO ANSWER
some contex for anyone reading:
part 1
part 2
mizurui
tbh there's not much to my white day au it was mainly supposed to be funny over anything else
the main plot is essentially rui being one of the mages at a castle but getting threatened with being fired which causes him to panic and claim that he has found a way to find the lost prince of the kingdom. he kinda comes up with semi working spell for that in a rush but the spell essentially leads him to a lost prince in general not specifically of their kingdom. after that rui with mizuki and akito in tow (as knights protecting/accompaning him) gets to toya who got adopted by tenmas as a kid and is running a family inn together with tsukasa and saki. theyre kinda hesitant to belive rui at first cause he seems like a scammer but in the end rui promises that he will help find out whats toyas past in exchange and they agree and go with them. but since like ive said all they know is that toya is "a lost prince" theyre not 100% sure its of their kingdom so while theyre on their way back they do like a cheklist of going to diffrent kingdoms for a quick stop and proving that yep toya is not that kingdoms prince
some other stuff that are not the main plot but might be entertaining:
- mizuki knows rui made everything up and is trying to cover for him and akito is the only one in the castle thats like "this guys bullshitting" and volunteered to join him to prove that the guy he found is not the prince. cut to a looney toons like compilation of rui and mizuki covering the truth in front of akito
- theres a slight tenma family side plot with saki wanting to leave to travel the world with l/n but not knowing how to tell tsukasa. In my head she claims that its because she doesnt want him to be alone and its harder now that she knows toya will probalby leave too but its also in a bigger part her being scared of leaving not in a "world is a scary and dangerous place" sense but in a "moving away can be a stressful experience" way and her feeling like telling tsukasa would make it final. toya learns by accident before the story starts and Ive imagined toya and saki bonding in scenes where they talk about how theyre actually kinda anxious to leave their home especially since its always been just the 3 of them. anyways it ends with a happy ending lol
- mafuyu is following them for plot relevent reasons i wont reveal in case i ever want to make more of it
- toya saki and tsukasa would get their white day outfits eventually but its not serious and in my head its them trying to disguise themselves to get into a royal event or something
- I wanted to make it a mizuruikasa au in a sense that mizuki and rui are already acting like a couple and then both of them are looking at this pathetic guy who tries to infodump akito whos a knight about knighthood and they think "I want him"
- theres some akitoya but its also mostly comical with akito having an internal conflict between "damn im falling for this guy" vs "I feel like liking the guy who im trying to prove is not a prince and rui is just making shit up is kinda like admitting defeat and I cant give rui the satisfaction"
- theres a song "learn to do it" in anastasia and this au exists 100% because ive imagined a scene where rui mizuki and akito desperately try to teach toya how to be a prince to it

*sigh* 2003 turtles should’ve made a radio station
Did anyone see that one video of Raph and Mikey doing a podcast and answering questions? How neat would it be if they just… had a radio station??
Imagine, right, Mikey reads scary stories and he and Donnie are writing an episodic murder mystery story. Leo does mini-lessons in Japanese language and culture. Raph blasts absolutely banger music and gives updates on any new happenings New Yorkers should watch out for - ongoing gang wars, aliens on the loose, but also charity events outside of Oroku Saki’s work because. Fuck Oroku Saki lol
Whenever they get into trouble and can’t get to their radio station or are too busy fighting something, the few New Yorkers that listen to them worry, and as they worry, they talk, and so ironically anytime the station goes quiet, the awareness of it spreads. The turtles keep coming back to new listeners, and they make more stories, more little lessons, they share little censored bits of their life. Mikey does in-depth analysis of superhero comics and shows like Star Trek, and very often reminds his listeners to Be Fuckin Weird!!! Be you be fun be interesting, your interests and hobbies are so cool I promise you, your outfit is banger and your hair is stylish and you deserve to feel confident in yourselves!!
Donatello shares hacks to make putting together machines easier for yourself, especially encouraging women to not feel intimidated or ridiculed by men for never being taught stuff like car mechanics — once you know where to start and what things look like, it’s easy enough! He researches reliable resources both online and offline, and occasionally rambles about new breakthroughs and what they mean in the bigger scope of all things science.
Leo has little episodes about exploring the soul - learning to understand yourself, meditating on who you are and want to be, but also how to cope with dangerous or traumatizing situations (shoutout to the Ancient One). Lots of queer folk lightheartedly agree that they would come out to him without hesitance because he “would be so so nice about it I bet.”
Raph starts setting up interviews, at first with the humans he knows - the kind Mrs. Morrison, talking about the horribly unfair housing policies making her life harder, the Professor, to humanize the homeless, but then he gets a little braver and starts interviewing nonhumans that live in the city — Leatherhead first, and then Sydney and the other people from the Underground City. A stray Utrom that settled down here and opted to stay when their peers left for home. Professor Honeycutt, when he visits - that interview sort of cements that he’s not making these people up, because, well. Everyone had seen and heard the fugitoid during the invasion. He interviews superheroes, both those that work during the day, and those that work during the night (and yes, he does interview the Turtle Titan). He invites the Battle Nexus Daimyo for a visit. But the interview most beloved by the listeners… is one Raphael conducts with his dad.
They never mention they’re mutants, but I wonder how many people feel something click in their minds when Raph starts the interview by going “so. Just you and four kids, practically homeless, hiding in the shadows. How did you manage, those first few years when we were really little?” And they talk about being a single dad who was “barely an adult” (read: still learning himself how to be a mutant) and all the folks out there who maybe had to deal with having kids too early or at a time where they couldn’t properly take care of them as much as they wanted to, they all lean in, because this man sounds like he’s about sixty now - surely he’ll have some wise words of advice? And he does, Splinter talks about having to learn what kids are even like, never having had interacted with that many people in general before, he often had to guess at what was a serious ailment and what was simply a byproduct of childhood and later puberty, he talks about how visiting his few friends (the Ancient One, and the Daimyo) helped him remember that he’s not all alone to do this, he talks about how what worked for one of his sons didn’t work for the other three and how a parent should always remain flexible and open minded and accepting of change, as change is natural to life and inevitable especially during the early years. And they talk and talk and I bet a bunch of New Yorkers go “wait a minute.. four guys that live on the streets with a dad they occasionally call a ‘master,’ one of them constantly talks about machinery, they all speak fluent Japanese… could these possibly be the fucked up little guys that saved my ass that one time? Could this be the guy I punched that one time cuz I freaked out?’
Like. Just consider it okay. A turtle radio station.

31DOD Day 23
Hear me out. So we've all seen the Batman/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles comic
Tumblr media
But Dick Grayson has never been too involved with these events. Some of you may even know who Karai is, and I'm not talking about 2012 Karai who was Splinter's long lost daughter kidnapped by the foot or 2018 Karai who was a sweet grandma. I'm talking about the IDW 2011 comic book Karai.
Imagine this, Dick Grayson as Batman with his Robin the prickly Damian we know and love. Now, we know that Damian's grandfather, Ra's al Ghul, is an immortal leader of an assassin clan that bathes in mountain dew to maintain his flesh or whatever. And then Damian is searching for a nobler way through working with Dick!bats to make up for his past mistakes with the LOA.
Now enter Karai, the granddaughter of Oroku Saki, AKA the Shredder, who in the IDW version was the leader of the Foot Clan in feudal Japan. Shredder was then pickled in some sort of demonic juice until modern day where he was brought back to life so he could take over New York and have sex with his sexy immortal fox girlfriend. Sound familiar?
Here's Karai using her blood to bring back her pickled grandpappy in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Secret History of the Foot Clan #4
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Batman (1940) #243
Tumblr media
I'm mean look at this loser getting it on in his mountain dew.
Anyway, so Dick is Batman and Damian is Robin and Karai ends up in in their universe somehow. Now Dick is dealing with two grandchildren who were raised to be assassins. I just think it would be real funny.
In Batman Unlimited, Damian ends up taking over the League of an Assassins. Karai ends up taking over the foot clan. I think they would get along in the strangest passive aggressive but also polite way. Then Dick is there being the responsible one keeping them from committing crazy murder. He would probably end up fighting Ra's again which I always enjoy:
Nightwing (1996) #152
Tumblr media
I want more of Dick kicking this crusty dudes ass.
I think this would give him a chance to eldest daughter syndrome it up with Leo as well as trauma bond over the fact that there are crazy assassin psychos out there obsessed with controlling their brains.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2011) #29
Tumblr media
Lookit my poor baby who can barely recognize his own brother after trying to murder him. Ring any bells with Dick Grayson?
The IDW TMNT comics are pretty darn violent. Not for kids my friends.
Unrelated, sort of, but people are always trying to compare the robins with the four turtles. They always say that 3/4 is good enough but I think they are missing the obvious solution here. Stephanie Brown is a Michaelangelo. I think they would be fast friends! Stephanie is a robin too so she should get to hang with the turtles.
I think Damian would get along with Jennika though :)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
They are both sweethearts.

Something I’ve been trying to draw since yesterday but can’t so I write in here for a short little fic idea or I don’t know, sorry:
It was weird for Tsukasa to cover up his hair, Toya knows that’s.
He always hear Tsukasa talking about how he stylish his hair and also how his morning and hair-care routine to make it looks soft and shiny is.
Toya has even asked for tips to take care of his own hair something in the past which Tsukasa was (and is) always happy to share with him and saki. (And whoever asked to him about it, he was just happy and excited to share his hair-care routine with anybody)
So it was quite a surprise to see Tsukasa of all people, that Monday morning.
With a orange beanie.
So, the original comic idea was for Toya to be confused about Tsukasa wearing a beanie and Tsukasa being all nervous about it because “HA! HA! DONT WORRY MY DEAR TOYA! STARS ALWAYS NEED TO TRY NEW LOOKS”!
But the true is: He’s hiding cat ears.
The blame of everything? Rui kamishiro.
The explanation: rui and emu wanted to do a play where the main characters where cats! The play was going to be about how a lonely cat learn what a family is and what it is for others cats to protect you from the world (found family!) and everyone was okay with it! A lovely story! (Or something! I’m still thinking about it.. my brain is really messy)
And just the first day of practice went on
At the end of the day, tsukasa tenma had on his pair a pair of cat ears and a tail.
Now he have to cover them up for a whole day! Akito and Mizuki are trying to take of the beanie, Toya is worried and confused, nene is ready to take all pictures for future blackmail, emu is having the best time of her life, Rui is having the best time of his life as well and Tsukasa is tired.

I do like Splinter seeing these connections between Casey and Oroku Saki in my Casey raised by Shredder AU.
Especially when you realise Casey is the only character in the group who doesn't have any connection with Splinter in Canon.
The turtles are his sons and students.
He cares for April and teaches her how to be a kunoich.
But he and Casey have nothing.
Which is kind of wild when u look at say the IDW comics where Shredder sees Casey as his son.
And taught Raph a lesson about anger and resentment, by beating Casey's abusive father and saying he wanted nothing more than to kill the guy.
It's awesome.
He spares him, because lessons but says he will make him regret that he didn't kill him.
And than sets Casey up in the lair as his new home.
He very much becomes Casey's father figure in the comics.
And in the 2012 version they have barely anything.
Which is something when u remember that Casey damn near killed the Shredder for killing Splinter.
Without them being close at all.
I'd love for them to talk.
I can so see Casey getting annoyed like listen man I get your the teacher and everything here and I respect that, I respect you.
But I am not your son and you sure as hell am not my dad.
And that kind of dynamic where Splinter clearly cares but can see Casey is a lot more jaded than the rest.
They've all lived fairly sheltered lives, especially the turtles with warm and loving homes to return to.
Something Casey hadn't had the luxury in having.
In a way, making Splinter and Casey rather similiar in that regard.
Saw a female Casey fic ages back where Casey had her mums necklace and asked if Splinter keep it safe for her.
And if that if she ever fell in battle to please let her family know.
And Splinter puts her mums necklace with his photo of Tang Shen. The last things they have from either of the people they loved the most.
And promises her they will know.
Just that understanding between warriors.
With Splinter at one point praying to Tang Shen and Mrs Jones to keep their kids safe.
It's the dynamic I'd like for them to have.
Though there's something deeply saddening of the idea Casey knowing their likely to die out on these missions, even prior to joining the turtles.
And putting that faith in Splinter to keep his loved ones safe.
Much like how Splinter trusts Casey to help keep his loved ones safe.
And just the idea of Casey being the one to keep the group togrther and guiding them through their greif when Splinter dies.

for the character ask prompt! what about Keiki?
General opinion/How much I care about them: She's a very solid character and surely part of the reason why WBaWC feels like one of the most-liked recent games! When the full version came out a lot of my friends and mutuals who were past touhou fans but had lost their interest came back thanks to that game specifically, so in my brain she's linked to that moment of shared happiness. I like how she's very much a classic god in terms of personality while being easier to reach than the others thanks to her role to the human spirits. I feel like she'd be easy to talk with, as long as you don't forget she's still a god of course, and I really like characters who act as a bridge of sort between others. She's also definitely unhinged under all that and it's fun to imagine situations where the politeness just goes out of the window.
A ship I love: (puts on my clown makeup again) My favorite Keiki ship is with Okina..... It's pretty high up there in my fav touhou pairings overall too lol. They're both loners and I tend to really enjoy romantic pairings where two people get to feel a bit less lonely together. I just think they'd get along really well! and I like their shared connection to art in general. The two of them crafting something special together is a nice image... It's also funny to imagine Keiki playing along Okina's boasting about her status and her powers as a secret god etc when Keiki is a god herself. She's Keiki's poor little meow meow!!! Oh and I also quite like Keiki/Mayumi too. I wish the fanon interpretation of them as parent/child would die down already... it's a bit sad that they didn't take off on the english speaking side as well as they did in the jp community even though literally everyone asks for more knight/princess wlw ships. It's Right There
A non-romantic relationship that I love: Gotta admit I haven't thought about her sphere of relationships much beyond the ones that also work as romances, but I love the implication that she's Eika's younger sibling if you follow the mythos. Keiki would probably be quite protective of Eika despite being the little sister... And with the recent addition of Hisami I'm really excited to see more fanworks with the characters based on the Nihonshoki/Kojiki (this better not monkeypaw on me). They need to have tea and chat about the old times!!!
The NOTP: It's Yachie/Keiki, sorry guys but I'm a yachisaki believer.....
My biggest headcanon about them: I'm pretty sure I've already mentioned that one in the past but the beast-shaped aura in her portrait looks like a familiar to me! Maybe some kind of fire spirit to help her crafting :)
An idea for a fanwork I would like to make/see about them: I'd like to read a good fic/comic where she interacts with the other beast leaders seriously... I'm so sad she didn't get proper dialogue with Saki or Yuuma despite them being as much of a threat as Yachie. As for something I would like to make myself... A visual retelling of some of Koda Rohan's works (especially Furyubutsu) but with Keiki as the protag is an idea I've had for 2-3 years but if I ever get to it, it'll probably just be little doodles :-)
Something that makes me think of them: Koda Rohan's work again lol (delusional)

i got an ao3 comment a while ago saying how it was "uncomfortable" and "out of character" for bruce to use terms of endearment and nicknames towards his kids in fics. which proves to me that some people have truly rotted minds, but also that you've never picked up a batman comic. so, here are some nice panels that show it is very much in character.

Crying with you.
Laughing with you.
Getting angry with you.
[image id: Wrathful route one-page comic in a limited cool color palette of blues, blacks, white and some color accents for skin, hair and clothes. The first row has a single rectangular panel centered in the page. The second row is also a single panel but it occupies the entirety of the horizontal length. The third row has two panels divided by a slanted-to-the-right line, the left panel on an upper reading line than the right one. The gutters are a black wash, being lighter on the edges of the page.
First panel is an extreme close-up to Aoi's shocked eye. There's lettering in white going on a curve in the left edge, it reads "Saki?!", with the exclamation points ending at the center of the second panel.
The second panel is an establishing shot showing American shots Saki and Aoi, with bookcases behind them. There's a sizeable space between them emphasized by the visual edges of the bookcases and a pillar. Saki is standing to the left, posed in profile facing to the right, her head lowered. Her eyes are no visible and her face is blank. Aoi looks upset and shocked, she's situated towards the right edge and her body is facing forward while her head is in profile, facing left. She's hugging herself.
On the third row, the left panel is a close up to saki's profile, her face remains inescrutable as we only get to see the part of her nose but not her eyes. Her mouth is open and she's talking, but her speech balloon is just indecipherable scribbles. On the right panel, there's Aoi with a frozen, horrified smile. The dramatic hatching makes the lighting appear really harsh and cold through the whole comic.]

Refreshing honesty
Tumblr media
In which I contrast Saki and Mimi for fun lol
[Image id: Screenshot of Saki looking upset and leaning forward]
Saki getting compared to Mimi is inevitable given her character was crafted to be outwardly similar: they’re both in the lower age bracket without being the youngest, they have a cheerful, sensitive disposition, distaste for violence and a tendency to bluntness in a way that’s refreshing~. Therefore, certain expectations on Saki are placed: that she would be self-centered and learn how to get along with others and consider their needs, that she’d be outspoken and open and that she’d have to learn how to endure hard tasks and stand firm before adversity.
However, Saki’s very introduction scene subverts these expectations— after all, we first see her tagging along with Ryo, who has a combative and nasty disposition. Her patience in dealing with him makes Aoi and Minoru remark that Saki could get along with just about anyone, which already sets the first point of contrast with Mimi.
As we learn further down the line, Saki has a very keen eye for people: upon Ryo’s death, she reflects that he was lonely and had trouble expressing himself, which showcases she’s able to look past his unpleasant and selfish behavior and understand him to an extent. The degree to which she related to those traits, albeit in a different manner, is shown in her Wrathful flashback, where she talks about how lonely she is (If someone like me disappeared, I doubt anyone would miss me...!) and how she lost her friends to a fight, which seems like a recurrent event in her life given her strong fears of rejection underlined in her moral shadow event. This information recontextualizes some of her dialogue during Vegiemon’s evolution scene: “I did it because it was the ‘good’ thing to do, I didn’t want others to hate me…”. This shows that she chooses her words carefully using her keenness to navigate the world and fit in, even though she still gets it wrong at times.
This continues to hugely set her apart from Mimi, who could be a bit thoughtless in her honesty, either hurting Palmon’s feelings for not being ‘cute enough’ or making it hard for her to get along with people she deemed difficult (Koushiro). Mimi is naturally charismatic and doesn’t have trouble socializing and being accepted by others. Unlike some of the other adventure kids, she has her own friend circle before the summer camp started and her home life is very stable, so her outspokenness comes from a place of being a well-adjusted kid who isn’t afraid of expressing her needs and opinions, which is another point of contrast to Saki. As we learn over the course of the game, Saki is very ill and tires easily. However, she’s very discreet about her needs, only voicing them until she has no other recourse (until she literally couldn’t keep going during the trek to the amusement park in part 4). Saki is generally cagey and avoidant to talk about it at all, even as it permeates every aspect of her life (her wistfulness over her missed experiences when wandering around the amusement park, her comical vague excuses when explaining Takuma she won’t be able to meet with them after camp due reasons~ in part 7).
Despite her bluntness, Saki has trouble talking without reservations about her worries and problems, and it takes a lot of work showing her she’s accepted for her to open up— first to Aoi and then to Takuma, who are both people who are very attuned to others’ emotions and taking care of them. Thus, Saki’s own bluntness isn’t necessarily straightforward honesty, and it’s something that can either be born out of her social inexperience (her passive-aggressive remarks to Shuuji in part five only antagonize him further and form part of what makes him dig his heels, instead of helping her stand up for herself and the group) and her strong sense of justice: that she will speak up when things are unfair (she shows strong ethics when rejecting Minoru’s idea to make a tally about whether to look for Miu or not, arguing it’s immoral to take a vote on a human life). Where Mimi is accepted and has to grow to be committed to her community in order to stand for it (her crest activation literally hinges on this), Saki already has strong values and needs a supporting community to be able to act on them.

Small opinion I had while showering: It could have been better if maybe they established Tiger Claw starting to see Shredder as a father figure or the closest person he can to a parental figure. Since Shredder took him in and gave him a place to stay and seems to have some kind of favoritism towards Tiger Claw. So him bringing Shredder back to life would make a bit more sense I guess?? Or even better, bring in Kitsune from the IDW comics. Something I decided to rewrite regarding the Kavaxas arc is that we finally get introduced to Kitsune. In IDW she works for the Shredder so her story is somewhat similar to the one in my version. She is a loyal helper and long time friend of Oroku Saki who also has various abilities and powers she obtained over the years. So she finds out about what happened to him and decides to avenge him and bring him back to life. I'm still working on her character but uhhhhh- seeing the crap she has done to Leo and the others in the comics, she is VERY unhinged in my 2012 version of her, is the lightest way I can put it- and to establish more of how unhinged she is and a terrible person in general and would definetely top some characters in the Pure Evil characters wiki she causes some of the worst psychological, mental, physical and emotional damage to the gang. Idk, just something I wanted to share with someone because I'm pretty passionate about my version of Kitsune in 2012- Wait that sounds like I love her for the damage she causes to the characters and all of the horrible things in general she has done... Yeah I love me some very deranged characters! ^^
I already have my own version of 2012!

I've talked about her a little bit on here, but basically she is Shinigami's mother and old friends with Splinter, Shredder and Tang Shen. As kids and teenagers they are a team, always hanging out together, but Kitsune left the group and did her own thing after getting sick and tired of Yoshi and Saki's rivalry. (note: she left before Shen married Yoshi)
Years later she has a fling which results in her being pregnant. The father of her child abandoned her so she raised her daughter, Shinigami, on her own (with the help of her mother aka Shini’s grandmother). Kitsune is a master of the dark arts and witchcraft, and she taught everything she knows to her little girl. Eventually, when Shini was around 7 years old, Kitsune reunited with Shredder and he offered for her and her daughter to join the Foot Clan. However, Kitsune is smart and a tricky woman. She knows Shredder only sees her and her daughter as pawns in his game, but she's willing to play along. That's what makes the game fun, right? The game gets even more fun when she meets Karai. Kitsune knows the truth that Karai is not Shredder's daughter as he claims. Ever since she first met Karai as a young girl, she knew just from a glance that she is Yoshi's child. Should she tell her? No. It would be more fun for Karai to figure it out on her own.
My favorite thing about my version of Kitsune though is her dynamic with Splinter. I'd say it's playful platonic flirtation. Kitsune constantly teasingly flirts with Splinter, which makes him uncomfortable. She does it out of her entertainment. She's not interested in him romantically, but the reaction Yoshi makes when he thinks she is is HILARIOUS to Kitsune.

Hello! Just wanted to say I love your work! I’ve finally gotten around to reading “Wet Moon” - haven’t finished it yet, but I love the vibe and the feeling it gives me, like I’m reading a hidden gem I found in the comics section of the library when I was a young teen! Can’t remember how long it’s been since I’ve felt that way, many thanks to you! I’ve also read some snippets of your old “Secrets of the Ooze” TMNT fan comic. I especially loved your portrayal of Pimiko! I’ve always thought that her backstory in the OG comic was extremely interesting lore-wise and I’ve got to wondering - do you think there’s any possible chance we might be seeing a certain someone whose name beings with “Pimi” and ends with “Ko” in the current ongoing comic sometime in the future? 👀
Also (switching topics just a bit!) I got to scanning comments online when I saw one particular comment wondering how Saki and Kitsune can afford the rent to their apartment. And at first, it made me laugh but then it got me curious… 🤔
A group of fans I’ve been talking with recently have come up with a couple of theories. One is that Kitsune wills a couple thousands of dollars into existence with her magic every so often. Another is that, maybe, they have a sum of money from the Foot Clan. My own personal favorite is that she mind-controls the landlord 😂 Is there any insight you can give us for this rather mundane yet mysterious topic? Thank you for taking the time to read this! 🙏
Hi! Thank you so much for checking out Wet Moon! And glad you liked my Pimiko from my fan comic, she was fun to draw. No plans at the moment to introduce her into the IDW comic but that would be cool! It could definitely work, there's plenty of room for Saki having previously-unknown children that could pop up, and I believe there's an early issue where it's mentioned that Saki and Kitsune have kids but they're never named or explored (anyone correct me if I'm wrong!). Thinking about it now I can't believe I never followed up on that.
Haha, I like Kitsune mind-controlling the landlord, that's funny. Or she creates illusory money that the landlord perceives as real but it's really just a magical illusion that will eventually fade. I guess the simplest answer, and the most boring, is that the building is Foot Clan property and Saki and Kitsune fully own it so there is no rent, it gets passed down through the years to various Foot Clan higher-ups, fully paid for. BUT that would still leave utilities, so maybe Saki has some friends at the power company that help out and/or Kitsune uses magic to influence the NYC Water Board. Personally I like the idea that Saki and Kitsune have a network of allies that work at various NYC businesses and government offices who secretly pull strings to make their utility bills disappear. What happens when one of them goes rogue?! Kitsune wakes up one day without hot water and all hell breaks loose.
